How to Counter These BROKEN Meta Dinos... Ark Survival Ascended — Transcript

0:00Ark has so many niche metas and so many
0:03dinos you're going to run into during
0:05PvP. So, just like in part one, we are
0:07going to go over how to counter every
0:10meta dino you are going to run into. So,
0:12getting right into it, we are going to
0:14go over the tapy. The tapy is no longer
0:17the like good picker of the game and no
0:19longer really plays that role. The role
0:21it will play though is tech tapping.
0:23People love to soak and have tech tapys
0:26shoot down the tech turrets or shoot
0:28down structures. It's a really good
0:30effective way of pushing towers, caves,
0:33whatever you can get a soaker and tech
0:35tapy into. It's going to get used. You
0:38are going to run into it. So, this is
0:40how I would recommend countering it.
0:42Probably the easiest way to counter it
0:44is to wear nothing but flak, have some
0:46bolas, maybe a whip, and just go in for
0:49the pick. Just dive in, use something
0:52that's cost-efficient. So, like maybe a
0:54desmo, push the tech tapy. Even if you
0:57get picked, go straight for the bola. If
1:00you can pick the guy and drop him and
1:01then bola off of the desmo, the tech
1:04tapy, perfect. But even if you get
1:06picked, start bolaing right away because
1:08you want to just take it out of the
1:09fight. If you lose a desmo to take out a
1:12tech tapy, you won that exchange. If you
1:15lose some flak, you lose the shittiest
1:17kit ever, but you took out the tech
1:19tapy, who cares? That's a dub. Even if
1:21the guy on the tech tapy hits the floor
1:23and runs off, right? But you took the
1:25tech tapy out and now people can shoot
1:27it and beat on it and do all that stuff
1:28and kill it, then you won that exchange.
1:32All right? It doesn't matter if you lose
1:33the desmo, they lost the tech tapy. The
1:35other way you can kind of counter them
1:38is you can push the soaker out of the
1:40way. So, if you can find a way to snatch
1:42up what's soaking, then the tech tapys
1:44will get shot. Of course, bee turrets go
1:47super hard against all flyers. So, if
1:49you can push up a bee turret that will
1:51shred the tech tapys, that's another
1:53great way to punish tech tapping. And
1:56the third best way, I would say, to
1:58counter tech-tapping is to play with
2:01your turret settings. I actually had one
2:03guy under my comment section laughing at
2:05me for copying settings to my turrets.
2:07Your turret settings, I would say, at
2:09your main choke point are pretty
2:11important. I wouldn't copy all in that
2:13and stuff like that. And when you're
2:15offline, I would make sure that all the
2:17turrets have different settings. But,
2:19when you're online, it's okay to mass
2:22change settings and to switch [ __ ]
2:23around. It is, okay? Like it is, you can
2:26adjust your turret settings for what you
2:28need. So, sometimes, what we'll do if
2:30somebody's taking [ __ ] down, right, is
2:32you can turn down the turret range of
2:35the tech turrets and turn up the turret
2:37range of the heavies and maybe put them
2:39on players only or something, so that
2:41the soaker has to push further in. And
2:42if the tech-tapper tries to follow,
2:44they'll start getting shot off. Now,
2:45obviously, it can get dangerous because
2:47they can start soaking all your heavies,
2:49and you want your tech turrets to mostly
2:51do the brunt of the soaker damage,
2:54right, because they're a lot more
2:55effective at that, and Ellie is usually
2:57less costly, less hard to grind than
3:00ARB. But, you can play that game where
3:02you start playing with settings to kind
3:04of like stop the tech-tapper from being
3:06able to get close enough because of
3:07heavies and stuff like that. But, once
3:09again, the easiest way is to just dive
3:11in on it, remove the soaker if you can,
3:14and push up B turrets. That's the best
3:16way. But, if you have to, you can play
3:18with the turret settings. So, now moving
3:20on to the basilisk. This is something
3:22you'll see at fabs and base defenses a
3:24lot. People love to spam them. If
3:26somebody gets a good angle with one,
3:28good spot where they could sit there and
3:30spam freely, it could be quite annoying
3:32to deal with. Now, the easiest way to
3:34deal with them is to wear a gas mask
3:36because then you can't be killed off of
3:38your tame. But, there comes some
3:39problems with wearing a gas mask. We
3:42talked about that in part one, so if you
3:44want to hear about why that is a counter
3:46to a counter, um I explained that pretty
3:49pretty well in the first video. So, how
3:51I would deal with a basilisk if I had
3:53one spamming and being annoying. Uh the
3:56easiest is if you can, if you can
3:58safely, push a mech up and shoot it with
4:01a mech. That does quite a bit of damage.
4:03You can put pressure on it. If you can
4:04make them have to move around and try to
4:06get a new angle, a good spot to shoot
4:08from, even if you don't kill it, you
4:11know, just making it move around can
4:12deter it from being able to spam. The
4:15other options is you can start to fab
4:18it, shoot it, hit it with the uh
4:20fabricated crossbow, things like that to
4:22do damage to it, maybe even try to shoot
4:25the rider off the back of it if you can
4:27get a good angle. But, a lot of times
4:29that won't do too much if they have a
4:30good basilisk that's imprinted to them
4:33with a good saddle. So, that becomes
4:35kind of difficult to do. The other thing
4:37you can do is just drop thylas on it if
4:39their fob isn't too fat or if they're
4:41not, you know, defending a giant tower.
4:44If you If they have like 10 heavies and
4:46you drop a couple of thylas on it, it's
4:48going to cause it to have to move
4:49around. Uh the other thing you could do
4:51is start to spam your own poison balls
4:54back, whether it's with a poison wyvern
4:56or with your own basilisk. And what this
4:58can do is cause them to have to wear a
5:01gas mask, and then you can focus on
5:03trying to shoot the rider off of the
5:05basilisk. So, really what you have to do
5:08to deal with the basilisk is you have to
5:10make them A, move around so that they
5:13can't get in position to get good shots
5:15off, or B, kill the rider off, make it
5:18really annoying to play off of that
5:20basilisk. Another option that is, I
5:22would say, very high skill based, not
5:25possible to do in all scenarios, is HP
5:28desmos can dive on it and grab the rider
5:32off. There are some people that are
5:33cracked on the HP desmos. They'll pop a
5:36beer, they'll have a good set of flak,
5:38they'll have a cracked out desmo with
5:40the saddle, and they will dive into
5:42turrets. I've slightly done it, not to
5:45anything of that level like you'll see
5:47in some clips, but I have dove into
5:49turrets to grab people. It is possible.
5:52If they don't have that many turrets,
5:53even if they do have a lot of turrets
5:54and you know what you're doing on a
5:55Desmos, some people can do that. You can
5:58dive in and snatch people off if you
6:00really have to. Uh you can do the same
6:01thing with the Chinese dragon. So, those
6:03two dinos can fob dive pretty much.
6:07That's kind of how they play off of the
6:08current meta. So, you can fob dive the
6:11basilisk, but like I said, uh it's a
6:13little more skill-based because there's
6:14a lot of ways to counter that and you
6:16might lose Desmos or Chinese dragons
6:19trying to do so. And now we are going to
6:21talk about the good old Theri. The Theri
6:24used to be my favorite dino to use, like
6:26if we go way back ASE when Rag first
6:29came out. I used to one V one gigas with
6:31Theris and win. Like the Theri was so
6:33fun to use. I really like Theris. Sadly,
6:36they do not hold the same power that
6:39they used to. They're definitely not as
6:40meta as before, but they're still very
6:43good in cave PVP and they're still very
6:45good for rattle defense. So, you're
6:47going to run into Theris still. They're
6:49very good agros to have. They're still
6:51People will still ride them in caves.
6:53You're still going to have to deal with
6:55them. So, a good way to deal with a
6:56Theri, if you're also on a Theri, is
6:58don't focus on swinging on the Theri.
7:01Focus on headbutting. I used to win one
7:03V one Theri fights all the time this
7:05way, even one V twos because everybody
7:07just starts smacking the Theri. If you
7:09have good imprint, good saddle, you'll
7:10kind of, you know, tank enough to where
7:12you can headbutt the player off of their
7:15Theri. Uh when you headbutt, you do
7:18damage to the player, not to the dino.
7:20So, keep that in mind. If you're on a
7:22Theri fighting another Theri, you can
7:24win the fight by getting rid of the
7:25player on top of it because you're
7:27probably not going to lose to the AI
7:29Theri afterwards. The second easiest way
7:31to deal with them is grapple over
7:33waiting them. You would have You have to
7:34be careful because if you're on the
7:36floor, they're going to basically one
7:37tap you. They They will one tap you.
7:39They They shred through armor. So, if
7:41you have to deal with a theri that's
7:43running around, whether it's on aggro or
7:44there's guys on it, you can grapple
7:46overweight and then just shred it. The
7:49new crossbow shreds it. If you have
7:51enough people shooting it, you'll shred
7:53it. There's a lot of ways to grapple it
7:55and just shred the theri. You have to
7:57focus on it right away. Of course,
7:59there's other dinos you can use to kind
8:01of DPS the guy off the back of it like
8:03pyros. You can use dialos to do damage
8:06to it, but a lot of times when you run
8:08into a theri, it's in a very tight
8:09quarter where you're not really going to
8:11be able to get other dinos out. So, a
8:12good way to deal with it is to grapple
8:15overweight that theri and beat the [ __ ]
8:17out of it for peaking its head around
8:19the corner or existing in that little
8:21crack of a rat hole or a cave, you know?
8:24So, even if you have to, you can mind
8:26wipe, stuff a guy full of [ __ ] stone
8:29and send him over there to grapple the
8:31theri. He can even if it's like a really
8:33dangerous spot, you can have him wearing
8:35basically nothing not lose a kit besides
8:39some grapples to get that grapple
8:41overweight on the theri to get rid of it
8:43and then push up your own cryofridge and
8:45stuff like that so you can start to have
8:47fights with tames. That's about it on
8:49the theris. I know that was very quick,
8:51but I feel like the only time and I do a
8:54lot of PVPing, the only time I see
8:56theris is if they're on aggro and so
8:59then you can kind of just toss them away
9:00and not have to worry about them if
9:02they're like outside or in those really
9:04tight cracks, you know, those random
9:06spots where they're just on aggro or
9:09there's a guy sitting on it just
9:10spamming, you know? So, usually the only
9:13way to actually deal with them is to
9:16grapple overweight them. Same thing like
9:18everything, you can gas grenade the guy
9:20off the back, you could, you know, whip
9:22spam, you could do stuff to kind of like
9:23stop them or knock the guy off, but your
9:26main goal should be to grapple
9:28overweight it because a lot of people
9:29will keep the theri on aggro. So, even
9:31if you get the guy off the back, that
9:33theri is still going to beat the [ __ ]
9:35out of you. So, grappling overweighting
9:37is really the only way to beat it or to
9:39get another dino in that can tank it or
9:43beat its ass like another theri or
9:45thylacine, stuff like that. And now,
9:47this is technically meta, but I think
9:49it's slowly going to get phased out. I
9:51don't think they're that good. If you
9:53have the resources to produce some, then
9:56why not add it? But, what we're talking
9:58about is the reaper. The reaper is just
10:01It's not that good unless you're on
10:03aberration, and I'm sure on aberration
10:05they are even slowly kind of sucking. I
10:07don't play a lot of aberration PvP, so I
10:10can't 100% confirm that, but I feel like
10:12with the current state of dinos, how
10:14good dinos are, they're just are going
10:16to outperform something that can't have
10:18mutations, can't have better stats than
10:20what you raise it with. The most common
10:22way you are going to see reapers get
10:24used is super low-level clothes spammed
10:27in spam or on ledges or on towers, [ __ ]
10:32like that. And honestly, the easiest way
10:34to deal with them is to just shoot them.
10:36They have super low HP. You can fabi
10:38them out, you can shotgun them out, you
10:40can compound them out, you can
10:41fabricated crossbow them out, you know,
10:43whatever you need to do to kill them,
10:46you can just do that. It's pretty
10:48simple. It will add time. Like I said,
10:50they're not completely useless. If you
10:52have the resources, you can add them,
10:53but I also feel like half the time they
10:55don't work anyways. You overweight them
10:57and put them on aggro, and I feel like
10:59they still just suck. They don't do
11:00anything. But, now if you run into one
11:03running around, let's say a guy actually
11:04has an imprinted one and you're want to
11:06kill it quicker than you would without
11:08these counters, the easiest counter is
11:10to have a light pet on, and then it just
11:12takes 10 times more damage. And if you
11:14do not have a light pet, you can hit it
11:15with a plant Z. I ran into one reaper so
11:18far in all of my PvP sessions in open
11:22world PvP actually. I think somebody
11:24bought it. The guy was like level 90
11:26running around on a reaper trying to PvP
11:28at blue ob. Ripped him off, killed him,
11:30hit the [ __ ] reaper with the Z, beat
11:32the [ __ ] out of it, killed it, called it
11:33a day. I just don't think they're that
11:35good, but you will see them. They're
11:36They're common in PvP, and that's what
11:38we're going over is just the stuff
11:40you're going to see and how to deal with
11:42it. So, if you see a Reaper, don't freak
11:43out. They're pretty easy to counter.
11:45Okay, so now we are going to move on
11:47from land stuff and go underwater. We're
11:50going to talk about underwater PvP
11:52because underwater PvP is a big part of
11:55the game. Now, a disclaimer. I'm not
11:57going to lie. I don't underwater PvP too
12:00often. I do do it. I have raided
12:03underwater bases, a couple of them now
12:05within these last couple weeks of, you
12:07know, building on smalls and stuff. My
12:10weekly update yesterday, at the time of
12:12this recording, uh was raiding an
12:14underwater base. You know, I know how to
12:16PvP underwater to a degree, but if I
12:19miss on stuff, I'm sorry. I'm not the
12:21best at it. And also, if there's
12:23anything like, "Hey, man, you need to
12:24start doing this or thinking about this
12:26meta," please let me know. There's
12:27always a chance to learn. I like
12:29learning. I've learned a couple of
12:30different metas that I haven't really
12:32seen before or tactics from my last
12:34video. I would say 99% of the [ __ ] I
12:36said was pretty on par, pretty good, but
12:38there's stuff where people are like,
12:40"Hey, you should do this instead." And I
12:41was like, "Fuck, damn, that's actually
12:43kind of smart." I actually had one
12:44person send me a meta that I've never
12:46seen before. He has never seen it
12:48before. Somebody did it to him. It's
12:49actually terrifying, and I really hope
12:51it doesn't go public because that [ __ ]
12:53was scary when I watched it. I said,
12:54"Oh, that's not good." So, I won't be
12:57sharing that meta actually at all. It
12:59had something to do with land PvP, not
13:02underwater PvP. But, getting straight
13:03into it, the X fish. The X fish is the
13:06Thyla of the sea, and it is terrifying,
13:09okay? People underwater spam the X fish.
13:12They're easy to raise. They're tanky as
13:14[ __ ] and unlike the Thyla, they get a
13:16pack bonus. So, you can have 20 of those
13:19[ __ ] They're going to have, you
13:20know, like that glowing red alpha symbol
13:23on some of them. They're going to be
13:24getting buffs. They're scary as [ __ ]
13:26Their damage stacks. They are
13:28terrifying. The first time I ran into
13:30them when I came back to Ark, I thought
13:32my Tuso was going to cook. It got
13:34shredded. So, easiest way to deal with X
13:37fish, build like 3 by 3, larger if you
13:40can, vacuum compartment spam that you
13:43could just drag them into. That's the
13:45easiest way. If they're whistled to
13:47something or you could break the dino
13:48leash or if they're not attached to
13:50anything, if you can drag them into
13:52vacuum compartments, easiest way to kill
13:55them. And the easiest way to drag them
13:56into a vacuum compartment is with a frog
13:58or Baryonyx because then you can swim
14:01into the vacuum compartment instead of
14:03playing that weird game of like trying
14:04to swim around it and get them to swim
14:06through it so that your tame doesn't
14:07insta die from going on land while
14:09theirs, you know, like don't play that
14:11game. If you can, get on a frog or
14:13Baryonyx, swim that [ __ ] into the
14:15vacuum compartments because it won't die
14:17and all the X fish will follow and die.
14:19That's the easiest way to deal with
14:21them. If you can't do that, it gets
14:23tedious. The second easiest way to deal
14:26with X fish is to just have more X fish.
14:29That's what we've realized. In moments
14:31where there's giant packs that we can't
14:32get rid of, make sure you have more X
14:35fish that you can throw into that group.
14:37You can sneak the dinosuchuses, the new
14:40alligator in there because the gigabyte,
14:42when you hit them with it, if they move
14:44around, they take extra damage and it
14:46melts them. But you have to be careful
14:48and have many dinosuchuses that you can
14:50keep throwing out because if it gets
14:52stuck in the swarm, it's going to get
14:54ripped apart and die instantly. So, that
14:56is something you can use. You just have
14:58to be prepared to lose some of those
15:00alligators and just yeah, just [ __ ]
15:02counter the X fish with X fish because
15:05they are that OP. I wanted to add real
15:07quickly that you can also drag the X
15:09fish into vacuum compartments with the
15:11Chinese dragon. You can actually grab
15:12them and bring them out of the water or
15:14bring them into vacuum compartments and
15:15same with Tusos. You can do that as
15:18well. But same thing goes for them. You
15:19do not want to get stuck in a pile of
15:21them. You don't want to get just
15:23shredded for ending up in that position.
15:26And another very common underwater dino
15:28that you're going to run into at almost
15:30every fob, every base, is the Megalodon.
15:33There's two Megalodons that you're going
15:34to run into. One is for bleed damage
15:37output, stuff like that. Still very
15:39common, still very good. People mix them
15:41in with their X fish. I've seen a lot of
15:43times somebody will be riding a
15:44Megalodon and whistling the X fish
15:46around. That type of deal. Still used
15:48for that. And also the scariest one is
15:51the Tech Megalodon. Same thing as on
15:53land, it's basically the Tech Tappy of
15:55the ocean. People are going to soak, the
15:57Megalodon is going to shoot behind it.
15:59It's a great way to clear vacuum
16:00compartment spam as well. I did that in
16:03my most recent video, if you want to go
16:05check that out. So, how do you counter
16:06it? One of the easier ways to counter
16:08them is with a Baryonyx. If you swim up
16:11to the Tech Meg or just the normal Meg
16:13and you spin, you're going to knock the
16:15guy off. And when you knock the guy off,
16:17you can make plays, right? So, that's a
16:18good way to stun it, to stop it from
16:20Tech Megging, all that stuff. Uh I don't
16:23have the footage anymore, but I actually
16:24killed a couple Tech Megs guys on Tech
16:27Megs that way. Every time they would try
16:29to push and start using their Tech Meg,
16:31I would start Barry spinning and then
16:32the guys would grapple them and kill
16:34them. And that's leading to the second
16:36best way to take care of them is
16:38grapples. Uh it's not that hard to
16:40grapple somebody off of the Tech Meg,
16:42especially when it's shooting. If you're
16:44sitting still trying to shoot something
16:46or clear spam, clear vacuums, clear
16:48turrets, somebody could swim up and just
16:50yank you off and then drag you to the
16:52turrets or drag you to the DPS dino and
16:55you're dead. Over weighting them works
16:57really well. Also, they're you know,
16:59playing that turret range, trying not to
17:01get shot and stuff and you over weight
17:02it and it's stuck in turrets or stuck
17:04right outside turret range where it can
17:05be get munched on by something. It's a
17:07perfect opportunity to counter it. That
17:10goes for both of them. If they're trying
17:11to do DPS and you spin them off, great.
17:13Same with the Tech Meg, spin them off.
17:15Grapple over weighting both of them.
17:16Perfect counter to them. Uh you can also
17:18capro people off of them. I feel that's
17:20a little harder to do than to just swim
17:23up to it and do the tail spin and knock
17:25them off. I think it's a lot more
17:26effective to use Baryonyxes than Capros.
17:29But, the Capro is doable. People also
17:31forget, I feel like a lot in underwater
17:33PvP, and this will kind of go to
17:35everything, you can use tech suits
17:38underwater. I feel like at a lot of
17:40fabs, I've seen people try to swim out
17:42and not use tech suits and stuff like
17:44that. Tech suits are great. Zoom around
17:46and you can grapple people, grapple
17:48overweight, drag people around. It's
17:51perfect opportunity for that. I would
17:52say it's almost easier to tech suit
17:54around underwater because there aren't
17:56as many one-tap dinos that are going to
17:58kind of come out of nowhere. Like in
18:00open world PvP, if I'm tech suiting
18:01around, a griffin can come from the
18:03[ __ ] sky barrier and smack me and
18:05kill me instantly. Underwater, I feel
18:07like there's less like, "Oh [ __ ] this
18:09guy came out of nowhere." I feel like a
18:10lot of the dinos are more OP and the
18:12tactics are more annoying underwater,
18:15but you can kind of move around and know
18:17where people are at. It's a little
18:18easier to tell what is going on, just in
18:21my opinion. So, you can tech suit around
18:24and grapple people, and that is a good
18:26way to deal with the tech mech. And same
18:28with the tech tapy, another way you can
18:30counter the tech mech is by playing with
18:32turret settings. You can lower turret
18:33settings, increase them to catch them
18:35off guard when they getting closer. You
18:37can adjust your tech turret so it's
18:39harder to soak as you increase your
18:41heavy range and put them on players only
18:43to try to rip the guy off the back. You
18:44just play all those games to try to
18:47break the tech mech as it's coming in
18:49and out, trying to avoid being ripped by
18:51turrets. So, that's another good way to
18:54counter it. So, a lot of the times what
18:56ends up happening is you're kind of
18:58flowing between the three. You're
18:59running a Baryonyx out, trying to knock
19:02them out. If you can't, you got guys
19:04swimming around trying to grapple,
19:05grapple overweight, grapple rip them
19:07off. And then you usually have a dude
19:09playing with turret settings and stuff.
19:10So, a lot of the times it's like you're
19:12playing all three things while dealing
19:14with other dinos as well to counter the
19:17Tech Meg or the DPS Meg. One thing
19:20people will do, and this happened in the
19:22last video as well, is people will auto
19:25click at their entrance with a
19:26Megalodon. How we dealt with it is we
19:29swam up with explosive spears and
19:31spanned them into the hole and killed
19:33the guy off the back. So, that's a good
19:35way to counter that. If they're sitting
19:37there just munching, munching, munching,
19:39munching with the Megalodon, you're
19:40like, "Dude, we can't get anything out.
19:42We can't do anything." Get as close as
19:43you can, start spamming, splash damaging
19:46with the explosive spears. Very good
19:48meta, very good way to deal with that
19:50little entrance at underwater rat holes
19:52where it's usually hard to throw [ __ ]
19:54out. And as previously mentioned,
19:56something that you will be seeing is the
19:58Deinosuchus, which is like a crocodile
20:00alligator thing that they added. Uh it
20:02is very good, and it's going to get
20:04used, but I will say what it's used for
20:07is just biting and getting out because
20:10it has an effect where it can do a giga
20:12bite, and if you move around, it just
20:15melts your HP. It's very effective for
20:19that niche role. There's a couple ways
20:22to counter it. One is just with
20:24movement. As you hold down the button to
20:28power up the [ __ ] giga bite or
20:30whatever it's called, you are a lot
20:32slower. You're slower than X fish. So,
20:35if you're playing that game, you can
20:37like swim around it, try to bait a bite,
20:39make it miss, start beating its ass for
20:42it. But, honestly, the easiest way is if
20:45it's on aggro, just drag it to turrets
20:48or to a pit of X fish if you are okay
20:51with the fact that you're going to lose
20:52an X fish or two when it does the bite.
20:55It will die pretty quickly though if
20:57there's a pack of X fish or Megalodons
21:00on it. I would say one movement dino
21:03that does affect it pretty easily is the
21:05Capro. The Capro does rip it off, so you
21:08can move around and kind of counter it
21:11that way. I would say they're not that
21:13hard to counter. It's just you have to
21:15be careful. If you get bit by it, you
21:17have to sit still. So, if you do have a
21:19tanky dino, sometimes that works as
21:21well. If you roll up on a Deinosuchus
21:24with a Tusoteuthis, that's a good
21:25counter. You can beat its ass, and if it
21:27bites you, just sit still for a little
21:29bit until the effect goes away, and then
21:31you can go back to beating its ass. So,
21:34really countering it is semi an IQ thing
21:38because it's just like, "Okay, what am I
21:39going to use that one can maybe tank the
21:42bite and I don't care if it dies as the
21:44rest of whatever dino I'm using beats
21:46its ass, or two, something that I can
21:48use to make it miss and then beat its
21:51ass, or three, what can I use that can
21:53just tank and wait before I start moving
21:56around again?" And then, like I said, if
21:58it's on aggro, honestly, the easiest
22:01thing to do is to drag it to aggros or
22:04to drag it to turrets. I think that's
22:06the easiest way to counter it. I think
22:08that's the best way to counter them. And
22:10then, also, if you have to, you can have
22:12a guy hop on a Kaprosuchus and swim
22:15around it and harass and kill the player
22:17off the back. I would say the AI of it
22:20isn't the best. It will do the giga bite
22:22as AI, but it is pretty easy to kind of
22:25avoid it or or just tank for a little
22:27bit, kind of play that game to get rid
22:29of these. I don't think these are that
22:31hard to counter, but when somebody knows
22:33what they're doing on one and the enemy
22:36is playing off of it correctly, it's
22:38really scary because it can really do a
22:41lot of damage or make you have to wait,
22:43chill, and stall, or sacrifice a couple
22:46tames to kill it, right? Like if there's
22:49one in a group of X fish, which I advise
22:51you do, it might cause you to lose a
22:53couple X fish while all the X fish are
22:55fighting. So, I advise you mix them into
22:57your own group. Next on the list is the
23:00Tusoteuthis. The Tusoteuthis is like the
23:02giga of the sea, I guess, kind of.
23:05They're pretty good. You'll see them a
23:06lot. They are very tanky or they can be
23:09very high DPS. But like any big dino, I
23:12feel like the best way to deal with it
23:14is to just swarm it with with bleed
23:15damage dinos. So like if you just
23:17whistle a [ __ ] ton of X fish on it,
23:19they're way less costly than the squid
23:22itself and it's going to win. The
23:24squid's not going to win against [ __ ]
23:26seven, eight, 10 X fish. They're just
23:29not. Or if you're fighting a
23:31Tusoteuthis, one of the best ways to
23:32fight a Tusoteuthis is with another
23:34Tusoteuthis, but don't do it fairly.
23:36Have a Megalodon with you. Have X fish
23:38with you. All these things counter the
23:40Tusoteuthis pretty easily if you have
23:43them paired with you. There's no reason
23:45why if you're fighting underwater or
23:47living underwater that you shouldn't
23:49have enough X fish to just whistle X
23:52fish to your squid so that you have them
23:54with you when you go out there to PvP or
23:56Megalodons or a Deinosuchus. Um leading
23:59to the Deinosuchus, a good way to
24:02counter the squids is to kind of beat
24:04its ass with the Deinosuchus as others
24:07commotion is going on. Uh there's no
24:09like true counter to the squid, but
24:11there's also a lot of things where if
24:12you just swarm the squid, it's going to
24:15lose. It It's just not going to win
24:17against a [ __ ] ton of X fish. Just like
24:19a carcha on land isn't going to beat a
24:22couple of thylas. You The carcha's
24:24great, high DPS, stuff like that. Throw
24:27a couple thylas at it and it's kind of
24:29[ __ ] Same goes for the squid. The
24:32squid, you throw a couple X fish at it
24:33and now it it's just cooked. So that's
24:36the best way, the most cost-effective
24:38way to deal with the Tusoteuthis. And
24:41like anything, if you grapple,
24:42overweight it, and then whistle [ __ ] to
24:44it, that is another great counter to
24:47such a tanky or scary dino that you
24:50might run into underwater. And probably
24:53the best soaker underwater is the
24:56Basilosaurus. So we're going to go over
24:57how to counter the bassy because they
24:59are scary. About 750k HP, slap a good
25:03saddle on it, it can soak. And then on
25:06top of that, if you swim above
25:08chlorinely turrets, it tries to shoot
25:10you through the bassy. So, you can soak
25:12any turret type with it. And they're not
25:15too hard to raise. You can have a bunch
25:17of them. People are going to have a
25:19bunch of them, and they will throw it
25:20out over and over and over again,
25:23soaking a mad amount of [ __ ] bullets.
25:25So, you have to be prepared for that.
25:27One of the easiest ways, and I know this
25:29is getting boring. You're like, "Come
25:30on, dude. Same answer to everything." is
25:33X fish. X fish, megalodons, any type of
25:36bleed damage dino, you throw it at them,
25:38it will start to shred it because it
25:40does a percentage damage. So, it doesn't
25:42matter if it has 750k HP, it does the
25:44bleed, does the percentage damage, it it
25:47drains HP. You get set up X fish on
25:50leashes, whistle to a dino in the tower
25:53or to the outside of your cave, or
25:55whatever you're defending the bassies
25:56might be soaking, and they will go out,
25:59fight it, maybe swim back, or maybe not
26:01swim too far out of the dino leash to
26:03where they get put into a vacuum and
26:05killed. Obviously, that's how they're
26:07going to try to counter the X fish, like
26:08we went over in the beginning. So,
26:10you're playing that whole game of like
26:12making them spend the time trying to
26:14kill your X fish to allow the bassy to
26:17soak because if you're just offline and
26:19they're just going to start soaking,
26:21that bassy is going to [ __ ] cook.
26:23I've I've done it. Like I said, I don't
26:25do a whole lot of underwater rating, but
26:26I've soaked towers underwater with a
26:29couple bassies because they are just
26:31they're disgusting at soaking. Another
26:33way to counter the bassy is to grapple
26:36the player off. You do not want to
26:38overweight grapple the bassy inside your
26:41turret range because like I said, 750k
26:44HP, good saddle, they're looking to soak
26:47with it. They're not looking to rush in
26:49any way with it. They are looking to
26:51soak with that bassy. So, if you grapple
26:54overweight them, they will just sit
26:56there and soak. It's doing its job. Does
26:58it suck that the bassy might die? Yeah,
27:01it sucks for them, but that is still
27:03750k HP worth of bullets that it is just
27:06eating up. So, it is better to rip the
27:09guy off the back and kill him, give him
27:11a timer, and then start beating the [ __ ]
27:14out of the bassy with X fish, stuff like
27:16that. Trying to push it or block it from
27:18getting shot because not want that there
27:20just soaking, soaking, soaking. Also,
27:22giving people timers sucks. Usually,
27:25they're going to be pairing tech mags
27:27around. So, then if the bassy can no
27:29longer adjust, then the tech mag is kind
27:31of stuck doing whatever it's doing. So,
27:33grappling the guy off the back
27:35definitely helps. And like the tech mag
27:37and tech tappy, adjusting turret
27:39settings honestly with the bassy, if you
27:41are running low on ammo, is sometimes
27:43worth. Make it have to get closer, then
27:45turn it back on. Hopefully, the guy gets
27:47ripped off the back. You know, adjust
27:49the turret settings, play that game
27:51because I'm telling you if you're a
27:52smaller tribe fighting a bigger tribe
27:53and they just keep whipping out bassies,
27:55they're going to run through your ammo.
27:57So, playing that game, making the
27:58soaking process longer, making it more
28:01annoying is definitely worth it. Uh we
28:04did that at a fob once, actually. At a
28:06fob, I just defended with grapples and
28:09changing turret settings because they
28:10were trying to uh bassy push and tech
28:13mag. I was the only one on. I just kept
28:14switching settings, ripping the guy off
28:16the back of the tech mag and and uh
28:19bassy, playing that game. I stalled it
28:21out forever until we actually ended up
28:22getting pushed on our main server and I
28:24had to leave. So, it made it really hard
28:26to push. Would they have eventually
28:28gotten in? Yes, but if you're defending
28:31your base and you add on a couple extra
28:33hours by doing those things, guess what?
28:36Now they have to spend even more time on
28:38your server. It makes it even more
28:40costly to then push the next part of
28:43your base, whether it's the next tower
28:45or the actual inside of your base. So,
28:47playing that game, stalling it out, is
28:49honestly the best way to counter
28:51bassies. Here is where I'm going to
28:53really show my lack of knowledge when it
28:56comes to underwater PvP. We are going to
28:58cover the Shasta. I haven't had much
29:02experience with the Shasta, so I'm not
29:04going to sit here and pretend I
29:05understand the ins and outs of defending
29:08against Shastas. But, what I do know is
29:10one of the best ways to counter Shastas
29:14is to prep beforehand in the way that
29:16you built. I do know when people are
29:18scouting, they do say, "Oh, that tower
29:21will be hard to Shasta. That we can't
29:23use Shastas on that stuff." I've heard
29:26that. And I think what it is is there's
29:28a template, I've heard people talk about
29:30this as well, that you can go and find,
29:33and there's a anti-Shasta template for a
29:35tower. Uh my understanding is that's one
29:38of the best ways to prep for Shastas
29:41because then it just becomes like, "Mhm,
29:43I can't really even use the Shasta to
29:46push that turret tower." The other thing
29:48that I know of that can kind of help is
29:51there's a way to Fortnite underwater. I
29:54think I kind of understand it. I'm
29:56actually going to start trying to do
29:58that a little bit in a certain spot,
30:00right? I'm just going to mention that
30:01now late into the video. Uh and I do
30:04think later on I will be making a video
30:07on how to defend outside since I kind of
30:09made a video about how to defend rat
30:11holes. And I am going to include
30:13Fortniting on land and on underwater to
30:15show that, right? So, the Fortniting,
30:18stalling, a long lengthy process, and
30:21the anti-Shasta towers are the best way
30:24to deal with the Shasta in general. The
30:27Shasta is just terrifying. And I'm not
30:30going to go on a long annoying rant
30:32because I've said this for every [ __ ]
30:34dino on this list because this is just
30:36the overall best meta for the game right
30:39now, and that is bleed damage dinos.
30:43Obviously, like every other thing on
30:45this list, whether it was the land dinos
30:48or under the ocean, bleed damage is
30:52king. And especially when it's a giant
30:55whale that can soak and shoot rockets.
30:57So, all those things that applied to the
30:59Tusos, the soakers, all of it, use the
31:02bleed damage dinos mixed with building
31:05the correct way so that you can stop
31:07yourself from being shasta. If you're
31:09going to build underwater, make sure you
31:11know and have access to that tower
31:14design. And lastly, is the plessy. And
31:17I'm adding this last because this is
31:20actually illegal. The best thing about
31:22the plessy is the illegal plessy builds.
31:25And I don't think there really is a way
31:28to efficiently counter it. If you are
31:30offline and you cannot show people
31:34illegally plessying you with an illegal
31:36plessy build, your tower is just going
31:38to get dropped. I do think the best way
31:41to build to prevent that is to build
31:44Fortnite underwater because then they
31:45have to like move around and blow up a
31:47lot of gens, blow up a lot of [ __ ] to
31:49get close. And I think a lot of the
31:51times when people are doing illegal
31:53plessy builds, it's either to drop a
31:55gotcha tower to wound a tribe that they
31:57have beef with or to ARB farm, right?
32:00They're looking to cheese a tower, get a
32:02bunch of ARB. If you are offline, that
32:05is very easy for them to do with the
32:07plessy because it's an illegal build
32:10they're not going to get shot with.
32:10They're basically god mode. They're just
32:12going to go in and take your [ __ ] So,
32:14the Fortnite makes that a little bit
32:16more annoying to ARB farm or to clear if
32:20you're offline and they're trying to get
32:21to your entrance. That is the best way
32:24to deal with the illegal plessy build.
32:26It is actually really annoying that
32:28that's a thing because I know a lot of
32:30people that have been struggling with
32:32their underwater gotcha towers and their
32:34bases outside like the outsides of their
32:37bases underwater because people just
32:38come in with illegal plessies and nuke
32:41everything. So, be prepared for that.
32:43That is something you would have to deal
32:45with if you are building fat towers
32:47outside and you have an offline timer.
32:49People are going to try to illegally
32:52plessy it. I hope this was a educational
32:55video. I hope I gave knowledge that will
32:58help you guys a little bit. I'm sorry
32:59I'm not the best with the underwater
33:01stuff. I think I covered pretty much
33:03every PvP meta dino you are going to see
33:06on land and underwater. I'm sure there
33:09are things that are more niche and some
33:11people make it work that I forgot to
33:14bring up. And I know there's dinos out
33:16there that are used in very niche
33:18scenarios or for certain caves, right? I
33:21get that like T Don spinning, stuff like
33:23that. But, I wanted to cover like the
33:25basic meta dinos that I feel like you're
33:28going to see at every fob or every troll
33:30session when you're in open world PvP. I
33:33wanted to cover those and give people
33:34general idea of how to counter those
