  1. 0:00So, lately I feel like Chat GPT has been
  2. 0:03and OpenAI for that matter has been in
  3. 0:05the spotlight in a good way in terms of
  4. 0:07just features and resets on limits and a
  5. 0:11lot of positive stuff, especially
  6. 0:13compared as they often are with apples
  7. 0:16to apples comparing them with Claude and
  8. 0:18kind of the ethos that they have and the
  9. 0:21ease of use, I guess you might say, with
  10. 0:24the user and the product. I've used both
  11. 0:28for all time now and I'm still using
  12. 0:30both, but I do find myself using Chat
  13. 0:33GPT more for just like the random stuff
  14. 0:37like research stuff,
  15. 0:39questions. I definitely use it 100% of
  16. 0:43the time pretty much for anything that I
  17. 0:44have around the house where I need help
  18. 0:47fixing or repairing things, of which
  19. 0:48I've done two repairs recently this week
  20. 0:51with a washing machine and then with a
  21. 0:53light switch and I just needed or
  22. 0:55actually it was a dryer, not the washer,
  23. 0:57and it fixed [snorts] it and and I used
  24. 0:59uh Chat GPT to get research for that
  25. 1:01done.
  26. 1:03Uh that's my go-to for random stuff like
  27. 1:06that. And I noticed this morning, I'll
  28. 1:07share my screen, we got more random
  29. 1:10features that are popping up. Maybe this
  30. 1:12is new, maybe it's not. I mean, I know
  31. 1:14you can always you've always been able
  32. 1:15to use Google Drive attached to these
  33. 1:19things with integrations and everything,
  34. 1:21but I had this thing pop up when I went
  35. 1:23to my library and actually misclicked
  36. 1:25the library over here. I didn't even
  37. 1:26mean to go to it uh right up there, but
  38. 1:29I misclicked it and then I had this
  39. 1:31thing pop up. It's like, "Oh, okay. So,
  40. 1:34we're going to connect to Google Drive
  41. 1:35to it and see what this is all about." I
  42. 1:37thought that this was already connected,
  43. 1:40um but apparently it wasn't.
  44. 1:42Choose my main account, click continue,
  45. 1:45uh sure, could select all. So, you might
  46. 1:49might behoove yourself to read through
  47. 1:50these things, see, edit, create, delete
  48. 1:52all your Google Drive files. It's kind
  49. 1:55of scary, but uh we're going to go ahead
  50. 1:57and do it and
  51. 1:59uh we're going to do all the things.
  52. 2:01Click continue. I'm not going to be like
  53. 2:03guns blazing going through this and
  54. 2:05having it do all sorts of crazy stuff.
  55. 2:08But yeah, look at this.
  56. 2:10This is real interesting. So this is
  57. 2:12bringing in all of my folders, my whole
  58. 2:15Google Drive is now integrated
  59. 2:18seamlessly and flawlessly it looks like
  60. 2:21within just a little bit of time to Chat
  61. 2:24GPT. So I'm pretty impressed with this.
  62. 2:29We can actually upload documents or we
  63. 2:31can create new documents, folders,
  64. 2:33spreadsheets right from here. Let's go
  65. 2:36back to a new chat and see if we can do
  66. 2:39it
  67. 2:40as easily as from right there.
  68. 2:43You can click through images and
  69. 2:44documents. There's some
  70. 2:46Chat GPT created images that I then
  71. 2:49uploaded to my Google Drive where I was
  72. 2:52looking at how to how to do some stuff
  73. 2:55for marketing for our business. That's
  74. 2:56really interesting, okay. So what if we
  75. 2:58went here and we said
  76. 3:00create a new folder in my Google Drive
  77. 3:03called test Chat GPT and then create a
  78. 3:07spreadsheet in it called test Chat GPT
  79. 3:10spreadsheet and in that spreadsheet I
  80. 3:13want you to put one table with like, I
  81. 3:16don't know, five columns and
  82. 3:1950 rows of data, just dummy data. All
  83. 3:21right, and I'm going to leave this, turn
  84. 3:23the microphone off, I'm going to leave
  85. 3:25this on advanced.
  86. 3:27I'm going to leave it on sole, so this
  87. 3:29is GPT 5.6 sole effort medium. That's
  88. 3:32fine, that's kind of my, I don't know if
  89. 3:34that's the actual default deal, but
  90. 3:37that's my default deal. Continue with
  91. 3:39Chat GPT work to get it done.
  92. 3:42This creates a folder. It's better
  93. 3:45completed in work mode. I'm glad that
  94. 3:47this prompted me to switch to mode work
  95. 3:49mode. So yes, let's continue with work
  96. 3:52mode. I had forgotten to do that out of
  97. 3:54the gate. I just started a regular chat.
  98. 3:57And if I had wanted to do that manually,
  99. 4:01could I have done it down here?
  100. 4:04Feel like there's usually at the top of
  101. 4:06the screen, like up here in the chat,
  102. 4:09there's something that toggles back and
  103. 4:11forth.
  104. 4:12Let's open a new chat over here. Yeah,
  105. 4:15there it is. So, in a brand new chat
  106. 4:17window, I just failed to or I neglected
  107. 4:20to look up here and click the work
  108. 4:22button.
  109. 4:23And so, that's how you do it for next
  110. 4:25time. But, for this time, let's see what
  111. 4:28it does. It's saying we move to chat GPT
  112. 4:30work. I'm going to have to refresh my
  113. 4:32knowledge on the chat GPT work stuff,
  114. 4:35but I'm pretty sure that it does take
  115. 4:37more tokens
  116. 4:39to go into work mode. So, general chat
  117. 4:42stuff, I stick with the chat mode. But,
  118. 4:45again, back to my first opening
  119. 4:47statements, chat GPT has not had the
  120. 4:50issues
  121. 4:51so far that Claude has. This may very
  122. 4:54well change by the time you're watching
  123. 4:56this, but the track record has been
  124. 4:58pretty consistent for a couple years now
  125. 5:00that Claude has really struggled to keep
  126. 5:02up with giving generous token usage
  127. 5:06limits. We're We're basically always
  128. 5:08budding up against that. In fact, my
  129. 5:09best performing videos have been videos
  130. 5:12about how to manage your limits, how to
  131. 5:13stop hitting the limits in Claude.
  132. 5:15And that has not really been the case.
  133. 5:17In fact, I've only hit limits in chat
  134. 5:20GPT
  135. 5:21I think a few times and I'm If I'm not
  136. 5:23mistaken, it's always and only been when
  137. 5:26I've been generating a lot of images.
  138. 5:28And so, doing some pretty intensive
  139. 5:30stuff and doing that in parallel on a
  140. 5:32few different parallel chat windows
  141. 5:35where I've been trying to create and
  142. 5:36then edit a lot of assets and really
  143. 5:39doing it in a not very efficient way.
  144. 5:41So, I still believe it's a great tool
  145. 5:45Now, supplement some image and asset
  146. 5:47creation, but it's not great if you're
  147. 5:50going to be doing stuff from scratch
  148. 5:51left and right all the time. It really
  149. 5:53does still behoove people to learn some
  150. 5:56some graphic design, some photo
  151. 5:58photographic editing and stuff.
  152. 6:00Even me, I I am not a graphic designer,
  153. 6:03not a photographer, not a professional
  154. 6:05editor, but the little bit that I know
  155. 6:07has served me real well in tweaking
  156. 6:10things and taking maybe something from
  157. 6:13ChatGPT as I did with a recent work
  158. 6:15project and
  159. 6:17modifying it like the the last mile, if
  160. 6:20you will, to our our use case, our our
  161. 6:22purposes.
  162. 6:24All right, here it is. It worked for 2
  163. 6:25minutes, 28 seconds. I let I let it run
  164. 6:28probably the video through all of that
  165. 6:30or most of it and it created a test
  166. 6:33folder and a test spreadsheet. And sure
  167. 6:36enough, it's in my drive, test ChatGPT.
  168. 6:39There's the spreadsheet in it and here's
  169. 6:41the dummy data table. So,
  170. 6:43this is
  171. 6:44This is really cool.
  172. 6:46I love that this can do that and it
  173. 6:48integrated super quickly. We're at what?
  174. 6:515 minutes, probably. Yeah, we're at like
  175. 6:536 and 1/2, 7 minutes. I'm going to do
  176. 6:55one more like actually useful thing.
  177. 6:59In that test ChatGPT folder, create
  178. 7:02another spreadsheet called house
  179. 7:03amortization. I want you to create a
  180. 7:07two-page sheet.
  181. 7:09Actually, just make it a one-page sheet
  182. 7:12where we've got data that the user
  183. 7:14should enter. You should highlight those
  184. 7:16fields like interest rate, the term
  185. 7:20length, the down payment, the cost of
  186. 7:23the house,
  187. 7:24all the different things that you can
  188. 7:25think of.
  189. 7:27Um, you can include dummy data out of
  190. 7:29the gate, but then next to it, I want
  191. 7:31you to create a table of amortization
  192. 7:34uh showing the the full amortization
  193. 7:35schedule, rather. Okay, so let's see
  194. 7:38what that does in terms of making an
  195. 7:39actual uh useful thing. And we'll let it
  196. 7:42cook here and I'll just come back to it
  197. 7:44after it's done and we'll see how long
  198. 7:46it takes. Check this out. It actually
  199. 7:47went to light. I didn't click that, but
  200. 7:50it went to light. I wonder if it knows
  201. 7:52that it's I'm kind of giving it
  202. 7:53softballs here, some easy stuff. I don't
  203. 7:55know.
  204. 7:56Uh I didn't I didn't don't think that I
  205. 7:59clicked that. Did y'all see me click
  206. 8:00that at any time there? Hey, I wonder if
  207. 8:02we can do something in parallel. While
  208. 8:04this is working, I want you to create a
  209. 8:06Google Doc in the same folder and just
  210. 8:09include like five paragraph data about a
  211. 8:13fictitious house that we're going to use
  212. 8:15the amortization schedule for. And you
  213. 8:18can link to that amortization
  214. 8:20spreadsheet in there, too. Yeah, so it
  215. 8:22looks like that may have interrupted
  216. 8:24I have to give this I have to
  217. 8:25spreadsheet receives its final drive
  218. 8:27link.
  219. 8:28Reading document skills. All right, so
  220. 8:31when I sent that message, a better way
  221. 8:33to do this would have been to open up a
  222. 8:35new chat dialogue and and a work
  223. 8:39dialogue for that matter, but to open up
  224. 8:41a new thread here. Uh instead, let's see
  225. 8:43what it does when I did interrupt it.
  226. 8:45Let's see if it continues to build out
  227. 8:47the first implementation of the
  228. 8:48spreadsheet and then add the doc to it
  229. 8:51or if it's going to add a doc and like
  230. 8:53forget about the spreadsheet. I'm just
  231. 8:55interested to see how it handles that
  232. 8:57interruption. The The UI for ChatGPT is
  233. 9:00such hit or miss for me because I like
  234. 9:02touches like this up here where we're
  235. 9:04getting to see, "Hey, here's the actual
  236. 9:07sources and files." Presumably, I can
  237. 9:10click into these and check them out.
  238. 9:12Yeah, so I can just open this stuff up.
  239. 9:14And look, there's our house amortization
  240. 9:16sheet. And if I click that,
  241. 9:18oh, sweet. So, it kept going and built
  242. 9:21this even though I interrupted its first
  243. 9:24process.
  244. 9:25Then we've got the sources folder right
  245. 9:27here. And check it out. There's the
  246. 9:30documentation or the doc with fictitious
  247. 9:33house details. So, it created it. I
  248. 9:36wonder if we can watch in real time as
  249. 9:38it actually edits it. So, it's building
  250. 9:43canonicalizing
  251. 9:45Google Sheets URL. So, it has not put
  252. 9:48any words or details in there yet, but
  253. 9:51it's got those three files just like I
  254. 9:53asked it to. It's showing up in the
  255. 9:55folder itself just like we wanted it to.
  256. 9:59It's got the working spreadsheet just
  257. 10:01like we needed it to work.
  258. 10:03And there's Hey, there's Maple Ridge
  259. 10:05House. This fictitious property is a
  260. 10:07two-story 2450 square foot home at 1847
  261. 10:12Maple Ridge Lane. You know, anytime I
  262. 10:14see the number 47 anywhere, I always
  263. 10:17think of Rambaldi. If you know that
  264. 10:20reference, go ahead and drop the TV show
  265. 10:22name in the comments below. It's a
  266. 10:24one-word name, uh but you always think
  267. 10:27of uh Rambaldi when I see 47.
  268. 10:30All right, so here's what we wanted.
  269. 10:32It's got the correct link to the house
  270. 10:33amortization schedule right there. How
  271. 10:36cool is that? Now, let me test one other
  272. 10:39thing. I actually made a video years ago
  273. 10:41about how to do this, and now it's uh
  274. 10:43probably obsolete because we can just
  275. 10:45come in here and say,
  276. 10:47"Hey, will you go ahead and throw the
  277. 10:49main details from the house amortization
  278. 10:54spreadsheet into the Maple Ridge House
  279. 10:58as a table at the bottom of that page or
  280. 11:01on a new page itself so that we can see
  281. 11:04the details. We don't need the full
  282. 11:05amortization schedule, of course, just
  283. 11:07the basics. You know, I'd like this to
  284. 11:10be not a copy and paste, but a live sync
  285. 11:14of the actual data in the spreadsheet.
  286. 11:17Is this going to work? I feel like it
  287. 11:19should. I feel like at this point in
  288. 11:22uh the iterations of this stuff being
  289. 11:24connected, it should be totally fine.
  290. 11:27I'm checking whether the Docs workflow
  291. 11:30can create a genuinely linked sheets
  292. 11:33table. And just so you guys know, all
  293. 11:35you got to do, copy and I'm going to
  294. 11:39make a new Docs to test this out and we
  295. 11:42paste. Yeah, so when you paste the table
  296. 11:45from a spreadsheet, from a Google Sheet,
  297. 11:47it's going to ask you, "Do you want to
  298. 11:49link to that spreadsheet or do you want
  299. 11:51to paste the unlinked?" And we're going
  300. 11:54to link to the spreadsheet.
  301. 11:56And I believe that this should allow me
  302. 11:59then to put 450,000 and that should do a
  303. 12:04an update if not live. Yeah, check it
  304. 12:06out. So it prompts me, "Hey, it sees
  305. 12:09that there's an updated piece of
  306. 12:10information here. Do you want to update
  307. 12:12that now?" And let's see, should we
  308. 12:14update that? Should we up- Yes, of
  309. 12:16course we want to update that. Update,
  310. 12:19it's got the 450 right there. So that's
  311. 12:21how you do it manually. I mean, it's not
  312. 12:23a difficult process by any means. I just
  313. 12:26want to test another one of these use
  314. 12:27cases. All right, a true live synced
  315. 12:30table
  316. 12:32isn't available through the connections
  317. 12:34I'm using. Isn't that interesting? So a
  318. 12:36simple copy and paste that can't do, but
  319. 12:39it's telling me what to do. Very
  320. 12:41interesting. So I'm not going to do this
  321. 12:43because it'd be a bit little laborious,
  322. 12:45but you can use browser control probably
  323. 12:47if you wanted to automate even something
  324. 12:49like this.
  325. 12:50Uh
  326. 12:51again, as it's pointing out here and as
  327. 12:53I just showed you, it
  328. 12:55way more trouble to go through the
  329. 12:56process of getting this little uh worker
  330. 13:00to do it than just going over and copy
  331. 13:02pasting and then it's linked once and
  332. 13:04for all. Um
  333. 13:05if you wanted to link those two things.
  334. 13:07But the actual functionality of creating
  335. 13:10stuff, of having access to my uh Google
  336. 13:12Drive now, this is very cool. So it
  337. 13:15lives again inside your library if you
  338. 13:18set this up. And uh here's my Google
  339. 13:20Drive right here. We can open that up.
  340. 13:23Look at all the folders, all the files.
  341. 13:25Uh there may be sensitive stuff,
  342. 13:26probably isn't, but I'm not going to
  343. 13:27scroll down anyway. But, it just lives
  344. 13:29in your ChatGPT library at this point.
  345. 13:31Now, if you got a little bit squirrely
  346. 13:33about all the permissions that you just
  347. 13:34gave Google Drive, and you wanted to
  348. 13:37disconnect it, disconnect it, I guess is
  349. 13:39the word, come to settings, and then in
  350. 13:41your ChatGPT settings, you'll go to
  351. 13:44plugins, right over here on the
  352. 13:46left-hand column, and then under
  353. 13:48plugins, you can see you've got ChatGPT,
  354. 13:51you can see where I've connected mine,
  355. 13:53and it should say something like
  356. 13:54connected on August 14th down here at
  357. 13:57the bottom, cuz I just connected mine
  358. 13:59today.
  359. 14:00And then it gives all of the different
  360. 14:02functions and things that are available.
  361. 14:04These are all the things that it can do.
  362. 14:05It can batch update presentations. It
  363. 14:08can copy files, create files, create
  364. 14:09folders, get profiles, presentation
  365. 14:11text, all these different things. It's
  366. 14:14got skills built in, so you got your
  367. 14:16Google Docs skill, and these, just like
  368. 14:19you can do with Claude, are detailed
  369. 14:21markdown files that give this a certain
  370. 14:25skill to be able to do. Um, you can turn
  371. 14:28those on or off, as the case might be.
  372. 14:30I've got all those turned on. You've got
  373. 14:33permissions, allow low-risk action.
  374. 14:36Okay, so that's the default, it'll
  375. 14:37automatically approve low-risk actions.
  376. 14:40This is one reason that I'm comfortable
  377. 14:42connecting this up, and I won't actually
  378. 14:44delete my connection right now. But, you
  379. 14:46can change the security level here, so
  380. 14:49you can allow read actions only, so
  381. 14:50anything that it wants to do other than
  382. 14:53reading stuff from your Google Drive,
  383. 14:56like if it wants to delete something,
  384. 14:57it's got to ask you before it does that.
  385. 14:59Always ask, then it'll just always ask
  386. 15:02before it does anything. And I kind of
  387. 15:04never do that, but if, depending on the
  388. 15:06sensitivity level of your data, the
  389. 15:08comfortability of you,
  390. 15:10is that a word? Yeah.
  391. 15:12You might select one of those different
  392. 15:13permissions risks. And then ultimately,
  393. 15:16if you want to come up here and just
  394. 15:17disconnect this,
  395. 15:19you can disconnect it right up here at
  396. 15:20the top, or you can view plug-in details
  397. 15:23if you want to go into even more details
  398. 15:25and find out more information about this
  399. 15:27plug-in, which is an official It is an
  400. 15:29official Open AI plug-in. All right. And
  401. 15:33that is that. I hope that's helpful. If
  402. 15:35it was, drop a comment. Uh do the like
