1. 0:00Here's how to clean your Apple Watch to
2. 0:02get rid of dirt, lotion, and sunscreen,
3. 0:05which might affect [music] its
4. 0:06performance. Before you start, you'll
5. 0:09need a non-abbrasive, lint-free cloth,
6. 0:11and you should turn off your Apple
7. 0:13Watch. [music] You might also need
8. 0:15lightly running, warm, fresh water. To
9. 0:18turn off your Apple Watch, press and
10. 0:20[music] hold the side button until the
11. 0:22sliders appear. Then tap the off button
12. 0:25in the upper right [music] corner of the
13. 0:26screen and drag the power off slider to
14. 0:29the right. Now take off your Apple Watch
15. 0:32and remove your watch band if it's
16. 0:34leather or if you don't want to get it
17. 0:36wet. [music] Next, wipe your Apple Watch
18. 0:39clean with the lint-free cloth. If
19. 0:42necessary, you can dampen the cloth with
20. 0:44fresh water.
21. 0:49If your Apple Watch has visible
22. 0:51substances or debris on it, you can hold
23. 0:53it under lightly running warm, fresh
24. 0:55water until it's clean. Don't use soap
25. 0:58or cleaning products. Be sure to clean
26. 1:01any lotion, sunscreen, [music] or dirt
27. 1:03from the back crystal.
28. 1:05ECG, and other readings might be
29. 1:07impacted [music] if the back crystal
30. 1:08isn't clean. You should also turn and
31. 1:11press the digital crown while cleaning
32. 1:13to allow water to run over the small gap
33. 1:16between the digital crown and the
34. 1:17housing.
35. 1:19For Apple Watch Series 10 and Apple
36. 1:22Watch Series 11, you should also clean
37. 1:24the speakers for optimal sound quality.
38. 1:27These are on [music] the side of your
39. 1:29Apple Watch opposite the digital crown
40. 1:31and side button, and you can clean them
41. 1:33with a soft bristle brush.
42. 1:38Hold your Apple Watch under lightly
43. 1:40running warm, fresh [music] water and
44. 1:42lightly brush the speakers in a circular
45. 1:44motion with gentle pressure in order to
46. 1:47clean the ports and meshes from every
47. 1:49angle.
48. 1:51Continue cleaning [music] the speakers
49. 1:52for at least 30 seconds and up to a
50. 1:55minute to ensure you've removed any
51. 1:57debris that might be obstructing the
52. 1:58speakers.
53. 2:00When you're done cleaning your Apple
54. 2:02Watch, dry it with a non-abbrasive,
55. 2:05lint-free [music] cloth. Be sure to dry
56. 2:08the surface of the back crystal. When
57. 2:10drying the digital crown, [music] be
58. 2:12sure to remove water from its surface,
59. 2:15the space between the digital crown and
60. 2:17the watch case and the surrounding
61. 2:19surfaces.

63. 2:23back on if you took it off, and put your
64. 2:25Apple Watch back on.
65. 2:31Then turn on your Apple Watch. Just hold
66. 2:34down the side button until the Apple
67. 2:36logo appears.

69. 2:40the [music] speaker. To do this, press
70. 2:42the side button to open control center
71. 2:45and tap the water lock button. [music]

73. 2:51the side of your Apple Watch until the
74. 2:53display reads unlocked.
