How To Build The ULTIMATE AI Second Brain (Obsidian + Claude Code) — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00This AI second brain will help you get
- 0:02more work done than you ever thought
- 0:04possible. And I want to show you how to
- 0:05set it up in the next 5 minutes. And
- 0:07then we can dive deep. I'll show you
- 0:09every single tip I found to help you
- 0:11unlock its maximum power. [music] And
- 0:13that gum it is it powerful. Because
- 0:15here's what it helped me do in the last
- 0:1745 days alone. Including building a sick
- 0:20web app that I launched yesterday and
- 0:22has real paying users. All without any
- 0:24prior software experience. It is insane.
- 0:27You see by taking the agentic [music] AI
- 0:28power of Claude and then combining it
- 0:31with the storage structure and
- 0:32note-taking power of Obsidian, [music]
- 0:34you essentially unlock a 200 IQ employee
- 0:37who knows exactly what you need done,
- 0:39can help you do it, and then can do it
- 0:41while you sleep. And the reason my AI
- 0:42second brain works so well is because
- 0:44it's a two-layered system. So the first
- 0:47layer is all about AI helping [music]
- 0:49you think. The AI brain is trained to be
- 0:51the general of an army. So it helps you
- 0:53strategize, it helps you plan your
- 0:55goals, it helps you see where you want
- 0:56to go and figure out what is the plan to
- 0:58actually [music] get there. And the
- 1:00second layer is full of AI soldiers. And
- 1:03so they're programmed specifically
- 1:04[music] to help you with each task that
- 1:06you've already decided you need to do to
- 1:09hit your goals, which gives you
- 1:10essentially an AI digital army at your
- 1:12command, which sounds insane, but if
- 1:14you'll just watch along, I'll try to
- 1:16prove to you its power. So let's go set
- 1:17this up for yourself. So let's talk
- 1:19about how this works so that you can use
- 1:21this to the best of your ability. And
- 1:23the first layer of this two-layered
- 1:24system is all about strategy and
- 1:27storage. It's simply to answer the
- 1:29question, what do we do? So you have
- 1:32these goals, these dreams, these
- 1:33ambitions, but you don't really know
- 1:35what you have to do to get there.
- 1:36[music]
- 1:37That's what this layer solves. And we
- 1:39have Claude in this layer as a thinking
- 1:42partner. So you can see my little
- 1:43Einstein Claude representation here. But
- 1:46normally, Claude isn't very good as a
- 1:48thinking partner because he doesn't have
- 1:50context about you. He doesn't have your
- 1:53notes, your goals, your journals, like
- 1:55what's going on in your life. And this
- 1:57layer solves that problem. So his entire
- 2:00role, like I said, is a thinking
- 2:01partner. You and Claude are acting as
- 2:04the general of an army.
- 2:07>> [music]
- 2:07>> So just like it's hard for a general to
- 2:08command an army when they're on the
- 2:10front line, the same thing is true of
- 2:12you and Claude.
- 2:14In this layer, you're not trying to do a
- 2:15bunch of stuff. You're trying to figure
- 2:17out what are the right things you should
- 2:19do in the next layer. And that's the
- 2:21secret. And we do that by you and him
- 2:23sharing context. So your notes on your
- 2:26books, videos, courses, etc., your
- 2:28journals, your calendar, your long-term
- 2:31goals, your reviews, so like are you
- 2:33actually making progress towards those
- 2:34goals? And then ultimately, your
- 2:36projects, which is that next layer. And
- 2:39so how does Claude actually act as a
- 2:41thinking partner? Well, Claude has given
- 2:43us these cool things called Claude.md.
- 2:46It sounds complicated and crazy, but
- 2:48it's simply just instructions for Claude
- 2:51in a folder. So every folder that you
- 2:53open up that you're going to work on
- 2:55with Claude, if you type out a Claude.md
- 2:58file, you can tell him what his
- 3:00instructions are in that folder. If you
- 3:02want a full guide on this and just how
- 3:03to use Claude for the first time, I made
- 3:05a full co-work masterclass which
- 3:07includes all this stuff. So check that
- 3:09out in the top right-hand corner if
- 3:11you're brand new. But like I said, it's
- 3:13very simple, it's just instructions. And
- 3:15so in this folder, um you'll see with my
- 3:18setup, it'll actually do this for you.
- 3:20But I just want to explain kind of
- 3:21what's actually there. It's just so
- 3:23Claude knows who you are, what you're
- 3:25trying to do, what his rules are, and
- 3:28your strength and weaknesses, and kind
- 3:29of your goals. And so that's what his
- 3:30instructions are in here. He knows that
- 3:33he's a thinking partner. He's not
- 3:34supposed to be doing, he's supposed to
- 3:36be helping decide what to do. [music]
- 3:38And also, we can give Claude some skills
- 3:40and commands. As the two skills that
- 3:42I've given Claude after you set it up is
- 3:45just new project. And so he interviews
- 3:47you to help you make new projects, so
- 3:49those new second layers. And then also
- 3:51we have weekly update. So he he'll
- 3:53interview you and he'll update
- 3:55everything across the brain that has to
- 3:57be updated. That way he always has fresh
- 3:59and recent context. [music]
- 4:01Now, what's the point of this? Like
- 4:03what's the value in having this layer?
- 4:06Here it [music] is. It's because you get
- 4:08clear goals. You have a clear plan to
- 4:10actually hit those goals, which means
- 4:12your thinking is clean, clear, and
- 4:14dangerous. And also as a bonus, you can
- 4:17easily recall information. So this is
- 4:19what people normally like base their
- 4:20whole second brain around, which is
- 4:23important, but not near as important as
- 4:25this actual strategy to accomplishing
- 4:27what you want in life. But you also can
- 4:29recall information. So because Claude
- 4:31has access to all of your books, videos,
- 4:34goals, journals, calendar, you can ask
- 4:36him questions about anything in your
- 4:37life and he knows. He can go find it. So
- 4:40super cool. So let me show you what this
- 4:42layer actually looks like in Obsidian
- 4:43and we'll go on to layer two. So this is
- 4:45what a layer one actually looks like
- 4:47inside of Obsidian. This is my real
- 4:49second brain layer one. So as you as you
- 4:51can see here, I have the Claude.md. So
- 4:53Claude knows who I am, what his purpose
- 4:57is, what my purpose is, and how it can
- 4:58help me in this folder, which is really
- 5:00cool. Also he has my goals in a file
- 5:03here. And here we have all that shared
- 5:05context that I talked about just a
- 5:07second [music] ago. We have my notes and
- 5:09so as you can see here, it's got all my
- 5:11notes from my books, which you can use a
- 5:13plugin called Readwise to like do this
- 5:15automatically, or you can just have
- 5:16Claude read your Kindle notes, which is
- 5:18cool. [music]
- 5:19It has course notes, my video notes.
- 5:21I've got my journals, my chess moves,
- 5:23which you guys will see later on. It's
- 5:25basically just my long-term strategy
- 5:27journal. Claude helping me decide where
- 5:30should I focus my time? That's the whole
- 5:32value of this. Then we have my projects.
- 5:34So you can see this is that second
- 5:36layer. We'll talk about this in a
- 5:37second. But he has access to all of it.
- 5:39So he can see across all my projects,
- 5:42and that's where some of the value comes
- 5:43in. He's not just boxed into one, he can
- 5:46see across all of them. He's the general
- 5:48of my army.
- 5:49Then we have reviews, which you guys
- 5:51will have weekly, um monthly, quarterly,
- 5:54and yearly, but I just had a template
- 5:55for now. I don't really do reviews that
- 5:56much. Then we have skills. These are the
- 5:58skills that you set up that Claude can
- 6:00use in this first layer. So like I said,
- 6:01this is just an overview, we'll go into
- 6:03depth later. Also we have Claude inside
- 6:06of this first layer. So I can ask him
- 6:08stuff about literally anything, um which
- 6:10we'll show you guys examples in a bit,
- 6:11but this is cool. You also know how to
- 6:13set this plugin. Let's go look at the
- 6:14second layer. So welcome to layer two.
- 6:17This is the project layer. So in the
- 6:19first layer, we answer the question,
- 6:21what do you do?
- 6:22>> [music]
- 6:22>> In this layer, we answer, how do we do
- 6:24it? And then we go do it. So this is
- 6:27where the value actually comes into your
- 6:29life. You actually start solving
- 6:30problems. And so the way that these this
- 6:32layer works is you open up Claude and
- 6:35Obsidian inside of a specific project
- 6:38folder. So inside of your meta layer,
- 6:40which houses everything, you have all
- 6:42your projects. Here you open up just the
- 6:44project. And in here, Claude has a very
- 6:47specific task. He is supposed to be your
- 6:49digital employee. And so the
- 6:52instructions for Claude are a little bit
- 6:54different. In here, we want him to know
- 6:56what is the project, what is the goal,
- 6:58what is his role in helping us hit that
- 7:00goal, and basically like what's what's
- 7:03entailed in actually doing this system.
- 7:06And I'll give you guys tons of examples.
- 7:07Um and this will set it up for you it'll
- 7:09like the my plugin will set this up for
- 7:11you itself. So you don't have to really
- 7:12know, but I just want to show you kind
- 7:14of what's involved. And also in this
- 7:16project, Claude has specific skills and
- 7:18commands just for this project, which is
- 7:21so cool. And so every project is very
- 7:24simple. It's just the outputs that you
- 7:27want. And so like what are you actually
- 7:29trying to achieve? For example, this
- 7:31YouTube video is an output in my main
- 7:33channel system, which I'll show you guys
- 7:35in detail later.
- 7:37The inputs would be my ideas for the
- 7:38videos. The process folder would be how
- 7:41Claude helps me do the research, come up
- 7:43with the title, the thumbnail, the
- 7:45actual content of the video, and the
- 7:47feedback would be the metrics of the
- 7:49video, your guys's comments, and my own
- 7:51thoughts. And so Claude in this folder
- 7:53just helps me make YouTube videos. He's
- 7:55not worried about all that other stuff,
- 7:57and that's where the value comes into
- 7:58play. And then obviously, you have
- 8:01multiple different projects for all that
- 8:02you want to accomplish in your life. And
- 8:05Claude has different skills and commands
- 8:08for each project. So like I said, don't
- 8:10get overwhelmed. I'm going to show you
- 8:11guys all this live. I just wanted to
- 8:13give you this. If you need help, come
- 8:14back and watch this over and over again.
- 8:17I promise, it is worth it and it's free.
- 8:20So yeah, let's actually take a look real
- 8:21quick at what is Obsidian. So if you
- 8:24don't know what Obsidian is,
- 8:26it's very simple. It's just a way to
- 8:28view folders and files. That's it.
- 8:31It's nothing crazy. As you can see on
- 8:33the left-hand side, this is the Mac
- 8:35finder. So this is Mac's natural way to
- 8:38view files. Here's Obsidian. In that
- 8:40same folder. It's the same exact folder,
- 8:43but Obsidian just gives you the option
- 8:44to have plugins, to have Claude inside
- 8:47of Obsidian, to actually be able to view
- 8:49the files and edit them while you're
- 8:51still seeing the folder on the left. So
- 8:53that's all it is. It's nothing scary.
- 8:54It's just a
- 8:56folder viewer on steroids where you can
- 8:58customize it, make it look whatever you
- 8:59want. It's it's really cool. And if you
- 9:02ever wonder like, what about VS Code or
- 9:04what about Anti-Gravity? These are all
- 9:07pretty much the same things. So VS Code
- 9:09is kind of like Obsidian, but for
- 9:11coders. So it has plugins and it's set
- 9:14up more for editing code, whereas
- 9:16Obsidian is more for editing like
- 9:18knowledge work, you know, writing and
- 9:20notes and stuff like that.
- 9:22But you can do the same thing across all
- 9:24of them. They're just different ways to
- 9:25view files and folders. So yeah, no need
- 9:28to get too far in the weeds there, but
- 9:29this is the same folder literally opened
- 9:31up in each individual plugin or each
- 9:34individual app. So the same thing, it's
- 9:36just different ways to view the files.
- 9:38Okay, so here's what the second layer
- 9:40looks like inside of of Obsidian, what
- 9:42we just went over. So if you look in
- 9:43your meta layer, you have projects. Now,
- 9:46the second layer is when we open up
- 9:48Obsidian in one of these projects
- 9:50specifically. So I'm going to go down
- 9:52here. I'm going to click this. I'm going
- 9:54to go to manage vaults. I'm going to
- 9:56open folder as a vault. And so if I do
- 9:58this, here is my actual KJOS folder.
- 10:02I go to projects and then I can open up
- 10:04any of these projects as their own
- 10:06vault. So I'm going to open up my main
- 10:07channel
- 10:08and I'll pull it up right here. So here
- 10:10is my main channel project. And so this
- 10:12is layer two. I'm now working
- 10:15specifically on making YouTube videos.
- 10:17And Claude knows this because of his
- 10:19Claude.md. Like I said, I'll show you
- 10:21guys how to set up all of this almost
- 10:22automatically, but I just want to kind
- 10:23of give you an overview. So in here he
- 10:25has his own skills, he has his own
- 10:27narration logs, he has his own like um
- 10:30process. Like he just keeps it super
- 10:32super clean. And I have Claude right
- 10:35here on the side. And so I can create a
- 10:36new chat and I can ask him to you know
- 10:38summarize this idea, to run skills, to
- 10:41literally help me do everything I do
- 10:43with content. And that's why it's so
- 10:45dang powerful. All right, let's go over
- 10:47how to set this bad boy up for yourself
- 10:49as quick and painless as possible. First
- 10:52thing I want you to do is come over here
- 10:53to Claude.com and you're going to
- 10:55download the Claude desktop app. Um if
- 10:58you want a full guide on this, it's in
- 10:59my Cohort Masterclass. I go over all the
- 11:01settings, all that good stuff, but I'll
- 11:02leave it out this time. Go check that
- 11:04out in top right corner. But all you're
- 11:05going to do is you're going to download
- 11:06this app for Mac, Windows, wherever you
- 11:08want it. Next you're going to download
- 11:10Obsidian. So come to the second link in
- 11:12the description or whatever link it is.
- 11:13Download Obsidian for whatever platform
- 11:15you have. And now all we're going to do
- 11:17is we're going to come over to my free
- 11:19school, completely free, no strings
- 11:21attached. This is just the safest way
- 11:22for you guys to get this stuff. Come to
- 11:24classroom, go to start here,
- 11:27go to YouTube resources. You're going to
- 11:29download the KJOS template. You're just
- 11:31going to click on it. You're going to
- 11:32click download or you can click this in
- 11:34the top right corner and you will safely
- 11:36get my exact template folder. It's all
- 11:39it is, just a folder. And so once you've
- 11:41got that, we will actually drag this to
- 11:44the desktop here in zero seconds. There
- 11:47we go.
- 11:48Now I'm going to extract here. So I'm
- 11:51going to open this with um the
- 11:53unarchiver. That's what I use. There we
- 11:55go. KJ template one. Now all I want you
- 11:59to do is to rename this to whatever
- 12:01you're going to call your second brain.
- 12:02So we'll just say KJ's AI brain. There
- 12:06we go.
- 12:07And now we need a couple more things.
- 12:09This is going to sound a little
- 12:10complicated, but I promise it's really
- 12:12not that bad. I have no coding
- 12:13experience. It It just looks a little
- 12:15weird for those of us who haven't done
- 12:17this before. What we want is we want to
- 12:19install Claude code into our terminal so
- 12:22that we can put it inside of our
- 12:23Obsidian. So all you're going to do is
- 12:25you're going to figure out you know
- 12:26which software system you have or
- 12:28operating system. You're going to copy
- 12:31whichever command is yours. So I'm going
- 12:32to copy it here. And then I'm going to
- 12:35open up the terminal. So the terminal
- 12:36looks scary, but I promise it's really
- 12:38not that bad. And I'm just going to
- 12:40paste what that told me right here. And
- 12:44then you're probably going to have to
- 12:45wait a second for it to actually
- 12:46download and then I'll come back when
- 12:47it's actually done. All right, so it's
- 12:49saying Claude code is successfully
- 12:51installed. If you want to check this,
- 12:53you can just type in Claude and hit
- 12:55enter and it's going to ask you if you
- 12:58trust it and I do. So I'm going to run
- 13:00and there we go. Now I have Claude
- 13:01inside of my terminal. You can do all
- 13:03the same functionality as the actual
- 13:05app. It just looks a little bit
- 13:07different. It's more for coders. But
- 13:09I'll show you how we're going to use it
- 13:10to empower us as just normal workers.
- 13:14Now what I want you to do is we can
- 13:15minimize this for a second. I want you
- 13:17to run Obsidian.
- 13:19Now what I want you to do is open folder
- 13:20as a vault. Like I said, Obsidian is
- 13:22just a cool way to view folders. It's
- 13:25that simple, but it's really powerful
- 13:26because of just how cool it is. We're
- 13:29going to click open
- 13:31and I'm going to choose this brand new
- 13:33folder that we titled from the template.
- 13:35So KJ's AI brain. I'm going to open that
- 13:38up. I'm going to hit trust.
- 13:40This just gives you all of my plugins
- 13:41automatically and the setup that I like
- 13:43to run with.
- 13:45And now we have the actual second brain
- 13:48right here. And I've given you guys a
- 13:50few things. I've given you guys a setup
- 13:51guide in case you want to just um follow
- 13:54along in written steps or if you get
- 13:56lost somewhere and you want to just you
- 13:57know see the actual guide, I've given
- 13:59you all of that here. So pretty cool.
- 14:03Now you've got everything in here, but
- 14:05as you can see there's nothing in the
- 14:07Claude.md. So your instructions haven't
- 14:10been written. And that's because the
- 14:12only way this brain is powerful is if
- 14:13it's specific to you.
- 14:15My personalized brain won't help you
- 14:18that much. My structure will, but now we
- 14:20have to personalize it to you. So how
- 14:22we're going to do that is we have to get
- 14:24Claude in our Obsidian. Now this is
- 14:27completely optional. You can just run
- 14:29the Claude app and you can select the
- 14:32KJ's AI brain as your project. If you
- 14:35want to learn how to do that, I have a
- 14:36whole Cohort Masterclass. All you do
- 14:38there is you just open up the brain in
- 14:40the app. And then you can use Obsidian
- 14:42and look on your other monitor and use
- 14:43Claude, but this has really transformed
- 14:45my workflow by getting Claude in the
- 14:48actual Obsidian. And so now I don't have
- 14:50to open a bunch of Claudes and get them
- 14:51confused. I just open up the projects
- 14:53that I'm running and Claude is right
- 14:55there in each one. So let's go over how
- 14:57to do that. Now once again, I This is
- 14:59going to sound a little bit scary. I
- 15:00promise it's not that bad. So all we do
- 15:03is we come back up and there should be a
- 15:04link in the description for this
- 15:06Claudian plugin. So all you're going to
- 15:08do is you're going to copy that link to
- 15:10the GitHub, which is basically just like
- 15:12a way for people to download folders.
- 15:15Then you're going to open up the
- 15:16terminal again.
- 15:17And so if you closed it out, type
- 15:19Claude, get him back up and we're going
- 15:21to say
- 15:22um let's see.
- 15:24Hey Claude, I want to install this
- 15:26Obsidian plugin. Can you check this repo
- 15:29and make sure that it's clean of any
- 15:31kind of um
- 15:32bad stuff? And then if it is clean,
- 15:35let's install it.
- 15:37So this repo at the time of me recording
- 15:39this is completely clean and um it works
- 15:42great for me. Like I use it for all my
- 15:43stuff.
- 15:44But it could be compromised in the
- 15:46future. So just to be safe, I would
- 15:48always ask it to like, hey, is this
- 15:50clean? And so I'm going to do that. I'm
- 15:52going to pull back up this link and I'm
- 15:54going to copy it again.
- 15:56We're going to come back to Claude.
- 15:58We're going to paste it. Now we're going
- 16:00to let him do his thing.
- 16:01So the first thing he should do is
- 16:03actually go through and make sure
- 16:04there's nothing bad inside of it. So
- 16:06he'll do that now.
- 16:08And then he will ask for permission to
- 16:09basically go and install all the
- 16:11different things. So let's go ahead and
- 16:13do that. Also Claude will ask you a
- 16:15bunch of questions if it can proceed. So
- 16:18just like glance over it, make sure it's
- 16:19not doing anything crazy and just say
- 16:21yes. Okay, so Claude has just reviewed
- 16:23the plugin and it has no issues found.
- 16:26So pretty cool there. And so let's
- 16:29install it. I'm just going to say yes.
- 16:32Okay, so I have multiple vaults and I'm
- 16:33going to tell it which one to install it
- 16:36in. So I'm going to say KJ's AI brain
- 16:40please.
- 16:41And so that's what you want to do. You
- 16:42want to just tell it whichever Whatever
- 16:44you named your folder, you want to tell
- 16:45it install it there. Okay, successful.
- 16:48Claudian is now installed. It installed
- 16:50all the things that it needed. It's also
- 16:52giving us the steps to actually set this
- 16:53up in Obsidian, which I'll show you guys
- 16:55in a second. Now we're going to minimize
- 16:57that in case we need it later. Let's
- 16:59come back to our Obsidian
- 17:01and let's get this thing underway. So
- 17:03the first thing I'm going to do is I'm
- 17:05actually going to um restart Obsidian
- 17:08just to make sure that the plugin is all
- 17:09good to go. So I'll open it back up. Now
- 17:11we want to get Claudian on this right
- 17:13hand side. And as you can see, he's
- 17:15already here, which is dope. But in case
- 17:17he's not, what I want you guys to do is
- 17:19to come over here to um
- 17:21community plugins. You want to hit
- 17:23refresh until you see Claudian. Then you
- 17:26want to enable it and then go to
- 17:27settings and you can change all kind of
- 17:30settings. I want you guys to take a
- 17:31second and go through here. So I'm going
- 17:32to tell him to call me KJ.
- 17:35Um yeah, you can just personalize this
- 17:36to whatever you want. Most of it I don't
- 17:38touch. I'll be completely honest. But
- 17:40yeah, now I'm going to see if he's
- 17:42actually here and live. So say, yo,
- 17:44what's going on?
- 17:46Um let's see. Nice. And so if this
- 17:48doesn't work for you, just screenshot
- 17:50whatever error you're getting, um put
- 17:52that into a Claude chat in the app and
- 17:54just ask it to help you. Mainly you'll
- 17:57probably just have to restart Obsidian
- 17:58or but you guys can figure it out with
- 17:59Claude. That's the whole power of AI.
- 18:01Just use it to help you.
- 18:02And over here you can see this is to
- 18:05start a new conversation and so it'll
- 18:07clean that chat. This is to open up
- 18:10another tab. So now I have two
- 18:12conversations and you can open up You
- 18:13can change how many of these you can
- 18:14allow at a time, but you shouldn't need
- 18:16more than three, guys. I mean this is
- 18:18already crazy to be able to do this. And
- 18:20so I'm going to right click and close
- 18:21those. This just already attaches
- 18:24whatever you're working in to Claude.
- 18:26You can just exit that out and it
- 18:28doesn't really matter either way. So
- 18:29let's see if this is working. If we come
- 18:31down here, you can change which model
- 18:33you're using. I'm going to go for Opus,
- 18:35but if you guys only have the $20 plan,
- 18:38probably go with Sonnet. I'm going to
- 18:40change the effort to medium cuz it's not
- 18:41that big of a deal. And the last setting
- 18:43is this Yolo mode. So Yolo mode
- 18:46basically means that it bypasses all
- 18:48permissions.
- 18:49It won't ask before touching things. If
- 18:51you want it to ask, just leave it on
- 18:53safe mode. I honestly trust it, so I'm
- 18:56going for Yolo.
- 18:57So all you have to do now, and this is
- 18:59inside of the setup guide if you guys
- 19:00want to to know,
- 19:02is to say run the brain setup skill in
- 19:05the 05 skills folder. So I'm just going
- 19:07to like you know copy this cuz I'm lazy
- 19:09and we will do that.
- 19:11Cool. So it found the skill inside of
- 19:13this folder
- 19:14and it's going to set it up for us. If
- 19:16you guys are wondering how are these
- 19:18skills different from the actual
- 19:20downloaded Claude skills, and they're
- 19:22pretty much the same thing. I just
- 19:24prefer to have my skills
- 19:27as just markdown files inside of my
- 19:30projects. That way my team can run the
- 19:33same skills without having to download
- 19:34them. I don't get all of them confused
- 19:36or on which Claude is where. I just keep
- 19:38them all right here. And so if you
- 19:40actually it's cool too because you can
- 19:42edit the skills just way easier. And so
- 19:44it's the same exact thing as actually
- 19:45making a skill. You just tell it where
- 19:47to go to run it.
- 19:49Okay, so during the setup, as you can
- 19:51see, Claude is now asking me questions
- 19:54and it's going to set up everything for
- 19:56me. So this will take probably 5 minutes
- 19:57or so. What I'm going to do is I'm going
- 19:59to go through and answer all these
- 20:00questions and then I'll scroll through,
- 20:02I'll talk about it, and we'll see what
- 20:04Claude actually sets up. All right, so I
- 20:05answered the first question and it's
- 20:07kind of summarizing what it captured.
- 20:09And now let's go for round two. What do
- 20:11you want Claude to do? So in this one,
- 20:14um keep it kind of simple. Just tell him
- 20:16that he's there to help you think. But
- 20:18you can kind of answer these however you
- 20:19want. And so let me do that real quick.
- 20:21Okay, so I shot Claude off the answer to
- 20:23round two. Also, if you guys want to
- 20:25know what voice to speech tool I use,
- 20:27it's called Super Whisper. Um I'll
- 20:29probably put a link in the description.
- 20:30I'm not like sponsored anything, but
- 20:32it's like five bucks a month. There's
- 20:33even a free version, but I just use the
- 20:35$5 one.
- 20:36All right, so um round three,
- 20:39boundaries. How should Claude
- 20:40communicate with you? I'm going to be
- 20:41blunt and direct. Round three, uh okay,
- 20:44any kind of add-on. So here I like to
- 20:46keep it simple. I would just say
- 20:49um
- 20:50any file that you create, tag it with
- 20:52that parentheses C, and don't edit any
- 20:55of my writings or notes without asking
- 20:58first, please. Okay, round four,
- 21:00strength and weaknesses. I'm going to
- 21:01keep this kind of simple here.
- 21:03I am pretty good at at building things,
- 21:06solving problems, and making content
- 21:08about it. But sometimes I get caught up
- 21:10in trying to perfect stuff when I need
- 21:12to just put it out and get something out
- 21:14there that's actually going to help
- 21:15people.
- 21:16Um also, I want you to just try to poke
- 21:18holes in my thinking and make sure that
- 21:19I'm um I'm thinking on the right track.
- 21:21Sometimes I'm a little bit too
- 21:23optimistic. Um so sue me.
- 21:26>> [laughter]
- 21:27>> All right. Uh it's way better to be a
- 21:29wrong optimist than a right pessimist.
- 21:31I'll say that though, guys. I can attest
- 21:33to that. Okay, so round five, goals and
- 21:35current progress. Okay, here you just
- 21:36want to talk about your goals. I'm just
- 21:38going to keep this super simple because
- 21:39my other one's more in-depth, but
- 21:41um I want to basically make amazing
- 21:44content that helps people and then build
- 21:46a software that helps them even more. So
- 21:48my content leads them to my incredible
- 21:50software where they can get a free
- 21:51trial, fall in love with it, and then um
- 21:54pay for the service. All right, so I
- 21:55would normally go much more in-depth,
- 21:56but once again, I don't want to make
- 21:57this a 40-minute video um just for you
- 21:59guys hearing my life story. Give me some
- 22:01more numbers and titles. So it's already
- 22:02being blunt and direct. I'll talk about
- 22:04how
- 22:05uh I can fill this in later.
- 22:08So for the sake of the video. Okay, so
- 22:10round six, current projects. We don't
- 22:11have any projects yet and you won't
- 22:13either if you're just now setting this
- 22:14up. So you can just say
- 22:17I will set them up here in a little bit.
- 22:20So do that and then we'll actually go
- 22:22into setting up the projects. That's a
- 22:23whole different skill. So pretty cool.
- 22:25Now what Claude is doing is he is
- 22:27generating that Claude.md for you. So if
- 22:30you look over here to the Claude, it's
- 22:32not filled in yet, but you can see him
- 22:35going through and filling in all those
- 22:37sections that we talked about in the
- 22:39video where we went over how this stuff
- 22:41works. So I'm just going to say dope.
- 22:44Let's do it.
- 22:45I don't know if he understands what dope
- 22:46means. I guess he does. Look at that.
- 22:48Boom. The power of AI. So now your
- 22:51Claude is filled in, you're ready to go,
- 22:53and it's time to actually set up our
- 22:56first project. So what I want to
- 22:58encourage you guys to do is take a
- 23:00section uh take some time and fill in
- 23:02the goals on your own. So I left this
- 23:04empty on purpose. I want you to just be
- 23:07honest with Claude and uh and give him
- 23:09what where you're trying to go, what
- 23:11you're trying to do. Because what I
- 23:12don't want you to do is to let the robot
- 23:15decide your fate. That's not what AI is
- 23:17for. AI is to help us achieve what God
- 23:20has already put on our hearts. The
- 23:21vision God has given you, the the
- 23:23passions,
- 23:24start there on your own outside of
- 23:26Claude. Give that to him and let him
- 23:28help you achieve it, but don't let him
- 23:30determine your destiny, okay? Um at
- 23:32least that's what I suggest in my
- 23:34personal opinion. Okay, so the next
- 23:36thing we're going to do is let's
- 23:37actually run a new project skill. So
- 23:39we're going to do is we're going to come
- 23:40back to Claude and I'm going to say
- 23:42All right, Claude, let's run the new
- 23:44project skill. Let's set up my first
- 23:46project. Dope, he is reading the skill
- 23:48and now he's going to ask us some
- 23:50questions. So I'm going to say app or I
- 23:52I'm just going to call it finances.
- 23:55Okay, now he's asking me what is this
- 23:57project? I want to set up a simple
- 23:59system where I can give you all of my
- 24:02bank statements and then we can
- 24:05basically submit a financial report for
- 24:07myself to see where I'm spending money,
- 24:09how I can save money, and uh just what
- 24:12happened financially that that past
- 24:14month. All right, cool. He says what
- 24:16does ship look like?
- 24:18So I would love to have a system where I
- 24:19can drop in all of my statements and
- 24:22reports. We also spend some time
- 24:24figuring out what is a good budget for
- 24:26me every month based on like where I'm
- 24:28at in my life. And then we can get a
- 24:29report back of what I did well that
- 24:32month and what I need to work on next
- 24:34month. And I want to be able to see it
- 24:35in a way that's that's super clean.
- 24:38Who else is involved? I'm going to say
- 24:39no one. What's the process? Um
- 24:42I think I should be able to get my own
- 24:45bank statements, drop the PDFs in a
- 24:48folder for you.
- 24:49Then you process them based on a
- 24:52predetermined kind of budget that we set
- 24:54up beforehand. So the first things we'll
- 24:56probably have to do is actually set up
- 24:58that budget and research what would be
- 24:59good for me in my stage of life. And
- 25:02then you give me a a report back and
- 25:04then we can have another skill or
- 25:06something that analyzes over the months
- 25:08like what things I need to work on on a
- 25:11macro scale.
- 25:13All right, cool. So that might be a
- 25:14little bit too complicated to start
- 25:16with, but uh
- 25:18we'll let him rock with it.
- 25:19So set up the budget, drop statements,
- 25:21process and categorize monthly report,
- 25:23and then analysis. Dope. Wow, he nailed
- 25:26that. Um
- 25:28we can worry about that as we go. Let's
- 25:30just kind of set up the project for now.
- 25:32You see how crazy this is, guys? I mean,
- 25:34you can start solving massive problems
- 25:36in your life right here just off the
- 25:39rip, which is insane. So now what
- 25:41Claude's going to do is he's going to
- 25:43take this project template that we've
- 25:45set up and he's going to create this
- 25:47project right before our eyes. So you
- 25:49can see he's just created the folder,
- 25:51finances. Now he's created all of the
- 25:53folders, everything. So in here you can
- 25:56see kind of the inputs, the process, and
- 25:58the outputs. You can see like the
- 26:00system. So if we need to like write any,
- 26:02I don't know, lines of code or whatever,
- 26:04he'll put that in there. If we build any
- 26:06skills for this project, we'll put it in
- 26:08the 05 skills. The Claude.md is done.
- 26:10It's all here. So now he has his role in
- 26:14this project, which is epic. It's so
- 26:16sick. And you can update this as you go
- 26:19along, but uh it's just a way for you
- 26:21guys to start literally full projects
- 26:24right there.
- 26:25And so now that this project is done,
- 26:28how do we actually go work in it?
- 26:31I'm going to show you two things. I'm
- 26:32going to show you how to actually change
- 26:34the template and I'm going to show you
- 26:36how to open up in the second layer. So
- 26:39let's go do that right now. So all you
- 26:40want to do is click on this thing down
- 26:43here. So KJ's second brain. Go to manage
- 26:45vaults. You're going to open folder as a
- 26:47vault.
- 26:48So we're going to do that. We're going
- 26:49to go into our main kind of uh brain
- 26:52here. So KJ's AI brain.
- 26:54We're going to go to projects and we're
- 26:56going to open up that project as its own
- 26:59file. So what what I'm going to do
- 27:01first, I'm going to open up the project
- 27:02template. Um I probably should have
- 27:03showed you guys this earlier, but this
- 27:04is pretty simple.
- 27:06If you want to change the appearance or
- 27:08how anything works, all you have to do
- 27:11is open up the project template and
- 27:12change it in there. So I can change the
- 27:14colors. Let's say that I want to go for,
- 27:17I don't know, I want to go for a cool
- 27:18orange. I can do that. It changes the
- 27:20buttons. Um you can change the theme.
- 27:22I'm not going to show you guys how to do
- 27:23the themes. I it's kind of a waste of
- 27:25time. I just I just work. But you can
- 27:28change plugins, change themes, and that
- 27:29way
- 27:30if you like a certain setup of plugins,
- 27:32let's say you want to add the calendar
- 27:33plugin or daily notes plugin, you can do
- 27:36that on the template and now every time
- 27:38you make a new project with the Claude
- 27:40skill in the first layer, it'll copy
- 27:42over all that stuff. So you don't have
- 27:44to waste all that time setting up all
- 27:45your things. So pretty cool. But now
- 27:48back on track, we will go to manage
- 27:50vaults again. We'll open folder as a
- 27:51vault. We'll choose finances
- 27:54and we will hit trust
- 27:56and boom, there we go. And so if we look
- 27:58at this, now we are working inside that
- 28:02second layer. So I just showed you how
- 28:04Claude made all of these things in the
- 28:06kind of the meta thing. All we did was
- 28:09open up straight into that finances
- 28:11project. And now we have Claude who
- 28:14doesn't know about all of that stuff we
- 28:16just yapped about. All he cares about is
- 28:18getting our finances done. Oh, it's so
- 28:21sick. Like it seems simple in hindsight,
- 28:24but like this change is everything.
- 28:26So now Claude only cares
- 28:29about his role right here. He's a
- 28:31soldier. He's going to get this job
- 28:33done. And so you can work with him right
- 28:35here. Like I said, we can start new
- 28:36conversations.
- 28:38Um
- 28:39it's just awesome, guys. It's just
- 28:40awesome. And I'll show you guys all of
- 28:42my like use the things that I actually
- 28:43do every day in my life with this setup.
- 28:45But um yeah, this should be the setup. I
- 28:47don't think I'm missing anything. If I
- 28:48am, then let me know in the comments.
- 28:51Also, one of the things that I've
- 28:52included is every time Claude creates a
- 28:55skill,
- 28:56he's supposed to put it inside of this
- 28:5805 skills folder. You don't have to do
- 29:00this. You can just put it into your like
- 29:04entire Claude. So that way no matter
- 29:05where you're at in the Claude app, on uh
- 29:08you know, your phone, on in Obsidian and
- 29:10Claude code, it has the skill
- 29:12everywhere. But in my experience, I only
- 29:14want the finance skill in my finance
- 29:16project. And that's why I did it this
- 29:18way. But if you do have a skill that you
- 29:19use across all things, just tell Claude,
- 29:22"Hey,
- 29:23install this skill across my like global
- 29:26Claude." And he'll do that. And if he
- 29:28does that by accident anyway, just tell
- 29:30him, "Hey, Claude, don't install this
- 29:32across in your actual skills. Put it
- 29:34inside the 05 skills folder." So yeah,
- 29:37I'll show you guys examples of that here
- 29:39coming up. But that is the setup. If you
- 29:40have any questions, let me know. Let's
- 29:41get into the actual juicy use cases. So
- 29:44a quick but very powerful bonus tip
- 29:47before we get into the actual use cases.
- 29:48I use this a ton. This is how to use
- 29:51your second brain from your phone
- 29:53wherever the heck you're at. You have
- 29:54full access. This is kind of nuts. All
- 29:57you want to do is download the desktop
- 29:59app and sign in to Claude. You're going
- 30:01to click on co-work. Then if you look on
- 30:03this left-hand side, you will see a
- 30:05dispatch tab. You're going to click
- 30:07that. I like to check keep awake, um
- 30:10give it full computer use, bypass
- 30:12permissions, all that good stuff. Um and
- 30:14yeah. Now what we're going to do is you
- 30:17can this is already working as is but
- 30:18can be a little bit glitchy. So what I
- 30:20find to work very well is just telling
- 30:22it from the start that I want it to use
- 30:24an existing folder and I give it the
- 30:26link to that folder. So this is my the
- 30:28name of your second brain. This is what
- 30:30I do. And I tell it to set that as your
- 30:32permanent workspace from here on. So I'm
- 30:34going to fire that off and hopefully he
- 30:37should understand that and it'll it'll
- 30:39ask for access to that folder.
- 30:42So here we go. I'm going to say allow.
- 30:45And now we should be good to use our
- 30:48second brain from anywhere. So let me go
- 30:50ahead and try this right now with the
- 30:52video idea.
- 30:53And I'm on dispatch on my phone. So you
- 30:55want to go to your phone and you want to
- 30:57click the dispatch button. And see now
- 30:58you I can see this exact combo that's
- 31:00happening on my computer.
- 31:03And so let's just let's just try this.
- 31:04Let's say I'm walking on the street and
- 31:05I have a sick idea. All right, Claude, I
- 31:07have a video idea that I want you to
- 31:09save in my um second channel project in
- 31:13the video ideas folder. And this idea is
- 31:15basically just teaching people how to
- 31:16use dispatch to capture insane video
- 31:20ideas to basically 10x their creativity
- 31:22because an idea never slips through the
- 31:24cracks. Okay, cool. So I'm going to
- 31:25shoot that off for my daily channel.
- 31:27Shout out to those of you guys who watch
- 31:28my daily videos about AI.
- 31:31Now we'll take a look at the computer.
- 31:32It just shot this from my phone. And so
- 31:34the idea of this is if you leave your
- 31:36computer on, you have full access to
- 31:38your second brain like entirely from
- 31:40anywhere in the world. So it says on it,
- 31:42save that idea. So now we're going to
- 31:44actually check the second brain and see
- 31:46if it worked. Okay, so if we come into
- 31:48my second channel folder, we can see in
- 31:50the video cards in the ideas section, we
- 31:53now have dispatch capture video as
- 31:55ideas. It was saved today and it
- 31:57followed the instructions of how I want
- 32:00my ideas saved. If you guys wonder how I
- 32:02upload every day, this is how. Dispatch
- 32:04is awesome. But I will warn you,
- 32:06dispatch is pretty freaking glitchy. And
- 32:08so I would get the whole thing kind of
- 32:10working on your computer. And once it's
- 32:12working, you can use that same process
- 32:14on your phone all the time. But you the
- 32:16initial setup is a little bit janky.
- 32:18With that being said, extremely
- 32:19powerful. You can control your entire
- 32:21computer and Claude and your second
- 32:22brain from anywhere in the world on your
- 32:24phone. So the last bonus tip I want to
- 32:26give you guys when it comes to setting
- 32:27the stuff up and leveraging this brain
- 32:29is how to sync it between your team. So
- 32:32how to have multiple people in one
- 32:34second brain and it syncs all the time.
- 32:36So this is what's called Obsidian Sync.
- 32:38I think it's like yeah, it's like four
- 32:39bucks a month. I think every single
- 32:42person needs to have that. Um yeah, it's
- 32:44it's cheap. And if you have a team,
- 32:46obviously that's incredibly worth it. So
- 32:48once you sign up to that, all you do is
- 32:50you want to open back up Obsidian.
- 32:52And so this is my Signal app Obsidian
- 32:55project. This is what I share between
- 32:57the team. And so all we want to do is
- 32:59come over here to settings. You will see
- 33:02this um core plugin called sync. And so
- 33:05you want to turn that on. Then you can
- 33:07go to the settings of sync on the left.
- 33:09And you will choose a remote vault. So
- 33:11whenever you purchase the Obsidian Sync,
- 33:13you'll be able to set up different
- 33:15vaults. And so I've already created a
- 33:16new vault called Signal. All I'm going
- 33:18to do is add my team members right here
- 33:20by clicking this sharing button and
- 33:22sending in their emails with their
- 33:23Obsidian accounts. And then I just
- 33:25connect every vault to it. So once they
- 33:27have this, they do the same thing on
- 33:28their end and they just connect to this
- 33:30vault they've been invited to. We will
- 33:32click continue and I'll have to put in
- 33:34my password.
- 33:36Which you guys will never know.
- 33:38>> [clears throat]
- 33:38>> Then I will hit start syncing and now it
- 33:41will be synced. But a very important tip
- 33:43that I want to share with you guys is to
- 33:45if you want, sync all file types. And so
- 33:48because we're doing code here, I'm
- 33:50syncing our entire like app design and
- 33:53structure with my team. And so I want to
- 33:55sync over everything possible. The HTML
- 33:57files, all that good stuff. And so you
- 33:59can do that here and you can also pick
- 34:01which folders to exclude from your team
- 34:03that don't get synced. So very simple
- 34:05there and you should be good to go. Now
- 34:07my entire team if if you see down here,
- 34:09I'll move this over here. You see this
- 34:11little green check mark. That means it
- 34:12is fully synced. So everything I've done
- 34:15has synced across their computers. You
- 34:17can also add your phones to the synced
- 34:19um
- 34:20vaults. It's insane. So that's it for
- 34:22the setup. Let's actually go look at how
- 34:23I use all this stuff. And now it's time
- 34:25for the best part. How I actually use
- 34:28this second brain structure in my real
- 34:30life to create businesses, create value,
- 34:32and make money, and just have the
- 34:33absolute best time ever. So starting off
- 34:36with my app. I've worked for the last 2
- 34:39months on this app and I've used this
- 34:41structure to build everything you're
- 34:43about to see. So I'm going to show you
- 34:44guys this is not just kind of a local
- 34:46little for fun app. I actually have
- 34:48paying users on this. It is legit. I've
- 34:50dreamt of of making this. So I'm going
- 34:52to show you guys how it works. And uh
- 34:54yeah, then show you how I made it. So
- 34:56all you do is log in with this. I'm
- 34:58probably going to leak my emails. There
- 35:00we go.
- 35:01And I'm going to create a brand new
- 35:03project in Signal. So all this is is
- 35:05basically YouTube 2.0. I took everything
- 35:07that I liked about YouTube and I
- 35:09improved on it and I got rid of
- 35:10everything I hated. So it's literally
- 35:12just for hyper learning. It's not for
- 35:15seeing a bunch of shorts, a bunch of
- 35:16garbage. Um but I'll just show you guys
- 35:18how it works. So let's just say we're
- 35:19going to learn Claude code. So I just
- 35:22type new project, go in here. Here's
- 35:23what I'm going to learn. I want to learn
- 35:24Claude code. This is actually how I
- 35:26learned how to do the lighting in this
- 35:27recording. Everything you see in this
- 35:28video I probably learned through Signal,
- 35:30which is nuts. And I want to learn
- 35:32Claude code to automate my business.
- 35:34Any other goals that I have? Let's see.
- 35:36What about building websites?
- 35:40Cool. We'll start there. And I'll hit
- 35:42continue. Now I'm just going to answer
- 35:44what do I know? I'm going to say I say I
- 35:45know the basics. And like I said guys,
- 35:47everything you're about to see here was
- 35:48built through this structure, which is
- 35:50insane. And now Signal's going to go out
- 35:53and find the videos that match my goals
- 35:56and bring them to me in a way that's so
- 35:58much easier than freaking YouTube. And
- 36:01just like that, I have a brand new batch
- 36:03of videos so I can go through. So I'm
- 36:05going to say, you know what? I think I
- 36:06want to watch this. I think I want to
- 36:08watch this, this.
- 36:10And let's check out
- 36:13um
- 36:14Let's see. This looks good. Oh, that
- 36:16looks great. Perfect. I can actually
- 36:18sort this by um let's go for views, just
- 36:21the highest views. Okay, dope. We'll add
- 36:23that Nick Coursen there. Master Claude
- 36:25code, awesome.
- 36:27Then I'll go, you know what? I want to
- 36:28change this a bit. I want to add in
- 36:30different goals. Maybe I have different
- 36:32roadblocks. Um I can add in prior
- 36:34knowledge to make sure that it's finding
- 36:35the right stuff. I can go to filters and
- 36:37I'll be like, you know what? I only want
- 36:38to watch videos that are, you know, 20
- 36:40to 60 minutes plus.
- 36:42Views, I want it to be over 100k. And
- 36:45these need to be recent. And so let's do
- 36:47in the past month. I'm going to hit
- 36:48apply and re-refresh. And that's
- 36:50actually some pretty strict criteria. So
- 36:52we see if anything actually matches
- 36:54that. And just like that, it's brought
- 36:56to us some of these banger videos
- 36:57matching our criteria. I'll be like, you
- 36:59know what? I like this one. That looks
- 37:01cool. Let's do it. Then I will actually,
- 37:04you know what? Let's get rid of these
- 37:05filters and I want to try something
- 37:07else. So let's do apply and refresh. And
- 37:10now I want to actually search for
- 37:12something specific. So maybe I have a
- 37:13project going on but I'm like, you know
- 37:15what? This isn't necessarily Claude code
- 37:17but I want to research this one thing
- 37:19about websites. So then all I'm going to
- 37:21do is I'm going to type that in for this
- 37:22specific topic for just a one-off
- 37:24search. So how to design landing pages.
- 37:26I'm going to fire that off.
- 37:28And now I can stay in my Claude code
- 37:30project, which is here to help me build
- 37:32websites. But I can do one little
- 37:33specific search just to find any kind of
- 37:36good stuff out there that we can add to
- 37:37our project and then go back to the main
- 37:39project. So just like that, I've got
- 37:41perfect landing page design in 5
- 37:42minutes. That is such a sick video. Uh
- 37:45Figma, I don't really care about that.
- 37:46The anatomy of high-converting landing
- 37:48page, dope. The million-dollar landing
- 37:50page, dope. So now I've added all these
- 37:52Signal in there. I can just hit X and
- 37:54I'm right back into my main project. So
- 37:56crazy. Now how do you actually consume
- 37:58these videos? You go to your Signal. And
- 38:00I'm like, you know what? Um this is
- 38:01pretty cool. I'm going to zoom in a
- 38:02little bit here.
- 38:04We can see that
- 38:05you can it tells you which videos it
- 38:07thinks are more signal for your goal. So
- 38:10these contain more value for you versus
- 38:13these are getting lower and lower and
- 38:15lower. And then it processes them as you
- 38:17add them, which is pretty cool. And so
- 38:19I'm going to sort these. Actually, I'm
- 38:20just going to leave them sorted by
- 38:21highest signal. And then I'm going to
- 38:23play through and uh watch the videos.
- 38:26And before you even watch the videos,
- 38:28you can select which parts you want to
- 38:29skip. So maybe I already know how to do
- 38:32components or how to fill in a website
- 38:34or how to do pre-built components. I can
- 38:36now skip these and it will only play the
- 38:39ones that I've already selected, which
- 38:41is awesome. And if you don't have a
- 38:42video that's all signal, so let's go
- 38:44back to the project. Let's say we pick
- 38:46one of these videos. It will go ahead
- 38:48and tell you which ones you don't think
- 38:50you want. So design trees, PRDs. I'm
- 38:53going to skip those and I'm just going
- 38:54to go, you know what? Boom. Let's watch
- 38:56the video.
- 38:58And so it starts it right there. You can
- 38:59actually type notes in here. So I'm
- 39:01going to do like notes. And uh yeah, you
- 39:03can create different tabs in your notes.
- 39:05I know I'm getting like carried away but
- 39:06guys, I mean I've dreamt of being able
- 39:09to build this kind of stuff and now I
- 39:11can. Only thanks to AI.
- 39:14Uh so it's it's crazy. Now we also have
- 39:16controls for the player so you can hit
- 39:18start. Um you can play it. You can skip
- 39:19around. You can increase the actual um
- 39:23time that the video is playing. You can
- 39:24go up and down. So without leaving the
- 39:26notes pads, it's incredible. The
- 39:28summary's down here. You can chat with
- 39:31uh
- 39:32a Signal bot, which has actually watched
- 39:34the video before you. And it will even
- 39:36give you some questions. You can answer
- 39:37any questions. You can ask it.
- 39:39Uh Uh, then you can export your notes.
- 39:41So, Obsidian, Markdown, Notion.
- 39:44It's so crazy. Then, whenever you're
- 39:45done, you just go to the next video. So,
- 39:47it's cool. And then you can go back to
- 39:49your projects here.
- 39:50You can go to your project notes. You
- 39:52can see all your notes. You can go to
- 39:54different projects. So, here's the
- 39:55project that I used to research for this
- 39:57exact video you're watching. Here's how
- 39:59I'm learning YouTube lighting.
- 40:01It's awesome. And you can archive videos
- 40:03in your signal. And they kind of after
- 40:05you watch them, they'll be in here later
- 40:07if you ever want to come back and check
- 40:08them out again. Incredible. All right.
- 40:11So, getting back on track, here is the
- 40:13Signal app project. So, it all starts
- 40:15with the inputs. So, I have ideas, the
- 40:17entire ideas for the app and their
- 40:19features. I just will throw them into
- 40:22the project, so the development board.
- 40:24So, me and my co-founder, my developer
- 40:26with me, we we have a board, which
- 40:28basically allows us to we have a board a
- 40:31board plugin, sorry, which allows us to
- 40:33implement all these changes on a board
- 40:35in Obsidian. And I use Claude Dispatch
- 40:37to add ideas if I'm not at my computer.
- 40:40And then in the process, I will go into
- 40:42Claude in my Obsidian, and I will have
- 40:45him give me different designs and
- 40:47features for me to test. So, every
- 40:49single thing that you saw on that app,
- 40:51it was designed me and Claude Code,
- 40:53which is crazy crazy. I would just ask
- 40:56him, "You know what? Give me an add
- 40:57button, or make these cards look a
- 40:59little bit, I don't know, sexier. Like,
- 41:01figure it out." And then I would test it
- 41:03out, and then I would um put the actual
- 41:05spec to go live on the website in my
- 41:08Obsidian, which is synced with my
- 41:10co-founder, my developer.
- 41:12And then he uses Claude Code multiple
- 41:14instances of Claude Code to actually
- 41:15design the spec into the live site,
- 41:17which you just saw. And that gives us
- 41:19the output, which is an improved app.
- 41:22And uh we make money from it, which is
- 41:24awesome as well. And the feedback for
- 41:26this system is basically just user
- 41:28feedback. It's metrics. It's also um
- 41:32like here's me giving Caden some
- 41:34feedback from using it myself daily. And
- 41:36then uh yeah, I'll show you guys what
- 41:38this looks like inside of Obsidian. But
- 41:39this is the actual like system and
- 41:41everything. So, here's the real Signal
- 41:43app project. So, I have folders for
- 41:45different parts of the application. So,
- 41:47for onboarding, finding, watching,
- 41:49capturing, etc.
- 41:50I have a folder called app design, where
- 41:53I've designed all of the features you
- 41:54see. So, here's the shipped features.
- 41:56Here's the fonts that I tested out.
- 41:58Here's all the old stuff. Um
- 42:00a big queue of changes, so super cool.
- 42:03Also, we have outputs. This is where I
- 42:05actually will test the features that I'm
- 42:07designing. And so, if we look here for
- 42:09the um add click border test, you will
- 42:12see this is where I tested out what the
- 42:15borders looked like. So, I would test it
- 42:16out on different thumbnails. This was
- 42:18all done by Claude in this project,
- 42:20which is insane.
- 42:22Here's the Claude MD, which basically
- 42:24just tells it, "Hey, you are helping KJ
- 42:26and Caden actually think through and
- 42:28design this app, but you're not going to
- 42:30code it into the website. Caden's
- 42:32Claude's going to do that." And so, my
- 42:33knows that it's only here to help me
- 42:35design and test the actual code in in
- 42:39HTML files. So, pretty crazy. Here's the
- 42:42folder structure, all that good stuff. I
- 42:44won't show you our development board cuz
- 42:45we have some secret stuff coming, but
- 42:47that's where it is. Yeah, let's go on to
- 42:48the next use case, which is probably a
- 42:50little bit more applicable to you guys.
- 42:52All right. So, this is my project for my
- 42:54email marketing client. And so, every
- 42:56single month I write these marketing
- 42:58emails, which gets his list to actually
- 43:01book sales calls with him and his team.
- 43:04And uh they pay me very kindly for this.
- 43:06So, the emails um have been very nice to
- 43:09them, and they continue paying. So, that
- 43:10is awesome. Make around 2K a month from
- 43:13these emails. And I've already made an
- 43:15entire free course on this in my school,
- 43:17so I'm not going to go in depth because
- 43:20I've already done it. But basically, the
- 43:21way it works is I have a skill, which
- 43:24gives me email ideas based on my client,
- 43:28his context, and then also based on his
- 43:30short-form content, and also on just
- 43:32news and stuff like this. Um and I've
- 43:34I've given you guys these skills in the
- 43:36school, so don't worry. And then once I
- 43:37have an idea, I'll add my thoughts, and
- 43:40it will run the you know, valuable
- 43:42insight email skill or the sales email
- 43:44skill, and then it will give me a rough
- 43:47draft. And I'll tell it kind of what the
- 43:49call to action is. So, where are we
- 43:51going to take them? What's the goal of
- 43:52the email?
- 43:54And then it will actually write it. I
- 43:55will review it, and also a sub-agent
- 43:57will review it. And then I make the
- 43:59finishing touches, and I ship it. So,
- 44:01like I said, check out the free course
- 44:03on this, completely free. I go over how
- 44:05to make the skills, how to do the
- 44:06ingredients for the skills, all that
- 44:08stuff, but a little bit too deep for
- 44:09this video. Okay. So, now I'm moving on
- 44:11to the main YouTube channel. How I made
- 44:14the video you're watching right now.
- 44:16Let's go over how this all works. So, it
- 44:18starts out with an input. So, I'll have
- 44:20an idea for a video. So, like I'll build
- 44:22something cool, and I'll think, "You
- 44:23know what? I want to show this to my
- 44:25audience, i.e. the second brain." I will
- 44:27then either add it to my ideas folder,
- 44:30or I will use dispatch to add it from my
- 44:31phone to my folder.
- 44:33And you see here, we start with the
- 44:34video ideas. And here I just have a
- 44:36bunch of random ideas that I'm going to
- 44:38um flesh out and maybe use.
- 44:40Then what I'll do is I will use VidIQ
- 44:43plus AI to validate the idea and
- 44:46packaging with demand. Basically, I'll
- 44:49see is there actually people searching
- 44:51for what I want to make? Is there demand
- 44:53for it? And then I will use my app to
- 44:56find, watch, and take notes on every top
- 44:59competitor's video. And I don't say that
- 45:01lightly, guys. Uh here's the actual
- 45:02project from this video that you're
- 45:04seeing right now. I went through and
- 45:06watched every video I could possibly
- 45:08find. There's some in my archive as well
- 45:10on just second brains. And so, I've I've
- 45:12deleted a lot of them, but every single
- 45:14video I went through and watched, which
- 45:16was crazy, and Signal helped me find
- 45:18them almost immediately and watch them
- 45:20super fast. So, yeah, another Signal
- 45:22plug. And then here's where it gets even
- 45:23cooler. I then used one of my skills
- 45:26inside of this project to analyze the
- 45:29successful packaging, the elements, the
- 45:32keywords, the titles, everything. So,
- 45:34here's actually what that skill looks
- 45:36like. So, first, it gives me all of my
- 45:38direct competitors. So, these are the
- 45:40videos on second brains. Then it gives
- 45:43me some packaging from similar stuff.
- 45:46So, these might be videos about Obsidian
- 45:48or Claude individually. So, not direct
- 45:50competitors to what I'm doing, but they
- 45:52might have good thumbnail ideas.
- 45:54Then it gives me the keyword analysis.
- 45:56So, what are the sweet spot keywords?
- 45:58What has the lowest competition, but the
- 46:00highest amount of search traffic? So,
- 46:02there they go. There's how what I used
- 46:04for the title.
- 46:05Um and then it gives me some more
- 46:06keyword stuff. Then it gives me the best
- 46:09keywords for the title. And so, what
- 46:11does well in the title, which is cool.
- 46:13Then it gives me good title structures.
- 46:15And then it compares all the thumbnail
- 46:17elements. So, it tells me, "Here's
- 46:19what's a good thing to use in the
- 46:20thumbnail." Then it ranks my
- 46:23competitors' titles, and then it gives
- 46:25me fire title ideas. So, if you're
- 46:27looking at this, I probably used
- 46:30something very similar to this title. Um
- 46:32yeah, it's just pretty crazy. This thing
- 46:34is really good.
- 46:36And then it just gives me a thumbnail
- 46:37review checklist. And also, I forgot to
- 46:39mention, it gives me all the tags for my
- 46:42videos
- 46:43um automatically. So, I don't even have
- 46:45to like write the tags out anymore. I
- 46:46can just copy and paste it straight into
- 46:48the YouTube thing. So, pretty crazy.
- 46:51So, from there, what do I do? Well,
- 46:53I create the body content with Claude.
- 46:56So, he's helping me write out these
- 46:57videos that you're seeing right now.
- 46:59He's not actually writing them, but I'm
- 47:01asking him his thoughts, how do I
- 47:02structure stuff, what sounds good in the
- 47:04intro, what do I include, what do I not
- 47:06include.
- 47:07I made a video about on my second
- 47:09channel of how I actually do this if you
- 47:10want to see do it live. So, yeah, pretty
- 47:13cool. Then my Obsidian is synced with my
- 47:16editor Caleb. Shout out to you. I love
- 47:17you, my BFF forever. He uses Claude to
- 47:20help edit the videos. And so, all the
- 47:22little like pauses and cuts, he uses AI
- 47:25to just do that so that he can focus on
- 47:27the sick intros. So, shout out to Caleb.
- 47:29And then I upload the video using the
- 47:31titles, the thumbnails, the elements,
- 47:32and tags that Claude gave me. And yeah,
- 47:35it makes for some pretty insane videos.
- 47:38And just in the like time it took me to
- 47:40make this Miro, it this video went from
- 47:43like 68,000 to 83,000 in like a day,
- 47:46which is
- 47:47just nuts. And then the feedback from
- 47:49these videos are the metrics,
- 47:51um my personal thoughts, the lessons
- 47:54that I find from Signal. So, I improved
- 47:55the lighting between last video and this
- 47:57video using Signal. That's how I learned
- 47:59all this stuff in like a day.
- 48:01And now I'll show you guys what that
- 48:02looks like inside of Obsidian. All
- 48:04right. So, now you guys are seeing my
- 48:05main channel Obsidian project. So,
- 48:08here's my videos ideas. This is the
- 48:10inputs. Here's the videos in process.
- 48:12And so, here's the actual AI second
- 48:14brain video you're watching right now.
- 48:17Here's where I did the title, the
- 48:18thumbnails, the intro, um the link to
- 48:21the Miro, the body content. Here's how I
- 48:24use Claude to help me write the setup
- 48:26guide, to help me write the different
- 48:28layers, to help me um do the research.
- 48:30So, this HTML is what I showed you guys
- 48:32earlier. And uh yeah, it's incredible.
- 48:35And then here's my uploaded bids, so the
- 48:37core work masterclass. Here's the
- 48:39iteration log. So, here's what I wanted
- 48:41to do better from the last video. So,
- 48:43that's my me my iteration. Um the system
- 48:46is basically any scripts that um it uses
- 48:49to like do all these skills. And then
- 48:51you can see kind of the packaging
- 48:53research skill right here that it uses.
- 48:56And uh yeah, Claude knows that he is
- 48:58there to help me ship more videos. He
- 49:00knows the folder structure, the skills,
- 49:02all that good stuff.
- 49:04And that's kind of that. And then this
- 49:05is synced with my editor Caleb's
- 49:07Obsidian. So, he has this exact project
- 49:09in his second brain, which is insane.
- 49:11So, yeah, let's move on to the next use
- 49:12case. And so, here is my KJ daily
- 49:15YouTube channel. So, in the past like, I
- 49:17don't know, 30 days or so, been gaining
- 49:19like 20,000 views, gained a bunch more
- 49:20subs, and I'm back to making daily
- 49:23videos, which is epic. So, the way that
- 49:25this works is a little bit different
- 49:27from the main channel. These videos are
- 49:28a lot more like just me documenting my
- 49:31life and sharing what I'm learning in a
- 49:33way that helps me improve my speaking,
- 49:35my ideation, all those things. And so,
- 49:38this is where I use Dispatch the most.
- 49:39So, I'll have random ideas and then I
- 49:41will use Dispatch to add those to my
- 49:43video ideas folder the way that I want
- 49:46them added. So, Claude knows that I
- 49:48don't want no slop. It follows my exact
- 49:51framework for how it's supposed to
- 49:53capture them, which I'll show you guys.
- 49:55Then Claude uses my title skill to
- 49:57create five titles based on how I title
- 50:00my videos. So, it does it really well
- 50:02for me, which is cool.
- 50:04Then it captures all select the main
- 50:05essence of the idea and it does, you
- 50:07know, like where it came from, the date,
- 50:09all that good stuff.
- 50:11Then I record them using this streaming
- 50:14setup that I learned from Claude. So,
- 50:16Claude helped me set up this camera,
- 50:17find the software, the lighting, all of
- 50:20it. Crazy. And then what happens is AI
- 50:23will actually find me 10 thumbnail
- 50:25pictures from the video file. So, it
- 50:28saves the video file into the footage
- 50:30folder and then it will pull 10 pictures
- 50:33from every single video I record.
- 50:35Then all I do is drop in that picture
- 50:38into Photoshop, change the text, give it
- 50:40back to Claude, and he uploads all of
- 50:43it. So, he does the upload, the title,
- 50:45he has the description, he schedules
- 50:47them one day apart, and all using the
- 50:49upload vids skill, which is just sick.
- 50:52And that's allowed me for the first time
- 50:54to do like over 40 days straight of
- 50:56daily videos and I'm not slowing down
- 50:58anytime soon. And it's growing this
- 51:00second channel and creating like a an
- 51:02awesome little community we have on that
- 51:03second channel. So, pretty pretty cool.
- 51:05Daily videos. And the feedback from
- 51:07these are once again learning a lot of
- 51:09lessons from the Signal app, my personal
- 51:11thoughts on how to improve.
- 51:13And the coolest part about this is this
- 51:16gives me insane iteration on skills that
- 51:19I wouldn't get to practice as much with
- 51:21this main channel.
- 51:23So, I'm able to practice my speaking, my
- 51:25body language, the lighting, recording,
- 51:27all these little things over and over
- 51:29again thanks to this system, thanks to
- 51:32Claude. And so, Claude knows inside of
- 51:34this system
- 51:35it's very simple. He just knows like,
- 51:36"Hey, you're here to help KJ get daily
- 51:38videos out. Here's how you title the
- 51:40videos. Here's how you save the things
- 51:42from Dispatch." All that good stuff. And
- 51:44so, yeah, it's super super sick. So,
- 51:46moving on to the very last use case. All
- 51:48right, this is my simplest yet extremely
- 51:51valuable and useful use case. And so, I
- 51:54coach a couple business owners, I
- 51:55consult them on how to use AI in their
- 51:57businesses. Extremely valuable for them
- 52:00and me because they get to automate a
- 52:01lot of their business without having to
- 52:03know all this stuff that I've had to
- 52:04learn the hard way. I'm able to teach it
- 52:06to them quickly. And so, in here I
- 52:08manage these clients that I'm working
- 52:09with, these business owners. I have my
- 52:11templates for my call notes, my
- 52:13templates for my school header, um the
- 52:15system that I have just the skills that
- 52:16I'm making. So, right now it's very
- 52:18clean, bare-bones, but Claude knows
- 52:20inside of here he's just here to help me
- 52:23do a better job of consulting with these
- 52:25one-on-one clients and it keeps
- 52:26everything nice and clean. So, I'll show
- 52:28you kind of what that looks like. Inside
- 52:30one of my client's folder, Will, we just
- 52:31started actually today, which is
- 52:32exciting. Um I have the call notes
- 52:34template, which I can just copy and then
- 52:36fill in immediately after a call. And
- 52:38then I have an example of what one of
- 52:40these calls looks like. And so, here,
- 52:42let me actually zoom in a little bit.
- 52:44Um it's just
- 52:46goals for the month of working together
- 52:48for this first month, the call agenda,
- 52:51the post-call notes, and then the
- 52:53recording links, and then I actually
- 52:54post the transcript, which is sick, from
- 52:57Loom straight into here, and then it
- 52:59going to we have to get some timestamps
- 53:01to actually make the school um
- 53:03recording. So, what I do is I just come
- 53:04in here and I'll be like, "You know
- 53:05what, Claude? Let's let's do this. Let's
- 53:07start a new conversation.
- 53:09Can you use the skill in the skills
- 53:14folder to add timestamps
- 53:18to this
- 53:20call note."
- 53:21And so, now what Claude is doing is he
- 53:23is using this skill and he's going to
- 53:25actually create all of these timestamps
- 53:28for me right here that I can copy
- 53:30straight into the school, send to my
- 53:31client, and they feel like, "You know
- 53:32what? This guy actually cares and he's
- 53:34making things super valuable for me."
- 53:36All right, and just like that it is
- 53:37generating the timestamps for us. Boom,
- 53:40there we go. So, now all I have to do is
- 53:43literally copy and paste all this into
- 53:45the school. So, we'll open that up right
- 53:47now.
- 53:48And so, if I go in here to where I host
- 53:50all my, you know, one-on-one recordings
- 53:52for my clients, I go in here to Will's
- 53:54and I can just paste all of that in
- 53:56here. And look at how valuable this is
- 53:58for him. He has the recording, all these
- 54:00good timestamps, and all the notes from
- 54:02the call just like that in his own
- 54:03personal little um
- 54:06course inside of my school, which is
- 54:08sick. So, yeah, guys, super simple but
- 54:10also really valuable and adds a lot of
- 54:12value to my service as I help these
- 54:14business owners. So, yeah, let's go
- 54:15finish this up with my bonus tips and
- 54:17I'll send you guys on your way to go
- 54:18make some amazing stuff with the Second
- 54:20Brain. All right, if you watched this
- 54:21far in the video, I just want to say
- 54:22from the bottom of my heart, I thank
- 54:24you. And I want to hopefully bless you
- 54:26with these bonus tips that not many
- 54:27people talk about when it comes to AI.
- 54:29This should help you actually use this
- 54:31technology to provide value to the
- 54:33market, solve your own problems. And so,
- 54:35number one is simply this.
- 54:38The market only cares about outputs, not
- 54:41processes. And this can go both ways.
- 54:43And so, if you have clients who want
- 54:45this result and you use AI to automate
- 54:48the entire process, guess what? You can
- 54:50still charge the high price without
- 54:52doing any of the work. That's the power
- 54:54of where AI comes in. But the biggest
- 54:56danger that I see with most people, even
- 54:58myself, is we like to automate things
- 55:01and it feels so good. It feels so cool.
- 55:04But then the output gets just gets bad.
- 55:07So, people will automate their
- 55:08thumbnails, automate their scripting,
- 55:10but the quality doesn't stay high. It
- 55:12just turns into slop. And the market
- 55:15doesn't care how little effort you put
- 55:17into something or how automated it was
- 55:19if the output is bad. No one wants
- 55:21another bad vibe-coded app. They want a
- 55:24great output. And that's what you have
- 55:26to use AI for. And so, part of the
- 55:28process is knowing what to automate and
- 55:30what not to automate. And so, if you
- 55:33automate something and the quality drops
- 55:35hard, you probably shouldn't automate it
- 55:37yet. Until you can automate it and the
- 55:39quality stay high, then you should
- 55:41probably do it yourself and automate a
- 55:43different part of the process where the
- 55:44quality doesn't drop off.
- 55:47And the real value for being legit here
- 55:50is by outsourcing
- 55:52everything that doesn't really matter to
- 55:54AI
- 55:55so that you can focus on the things that
- 55:57do matter.
- 55:58So, the thumbnail for this video, I
- 56:00spent like 8 hours on, all manually.
- 56:03But AI did the research so that I could
- 56:04actually spend that much time designing
- 56:06the dang thing. And so, that's really
- 56:08the secret is getting your time back so
- 56:11that you can apply your human creativity
- 56:13and judgment to more valuable parts of
- 56:15the process. Number two,
- 56:17the value is in the personalization. You
- 56:20guys have been given this very clean,
- 56:22basic structure for how to do this, but
- 56:24you've got to personalize it to your
- 56:26life, to your business. If you just take
- 56:29my things and try to do it like me,
- 56:31you're not going to be as good as me
- 56:32because you're not me.
- 56:35And vice versa, me for you. I can't just
- 56:36steal your skills and all your things.
- 56:38And so, don't watch all these videos
- 56:40about use cases and downloading all
- 56:43these other people's skills. Go make
- 56:45your own. That's when it becomes really
- 56:47valuable to you, to your business, to
- 56:49your family and friends. Number three,
- 56:51AI is a skill. Learning how to use this
- 56:54technology comes with so many little
- 56:56quirks and nuances, and no one has
- 56:5910,000 hours in it yet, which is
- 57:01awesome. The field is wide open.
- 57:04But the best way to learn is not by
- 57:06watching these videos. Maybe you watch
- 57:08watch, you know, one of these once, but
- 57:10then go do it. So, don't sit here and
- 57:11watch this video over and over again.
- 57:13Don't go look for other videos. Stop
- 57:15what you're doing, go test out
- 57:17everything you've just learned. Cuz
- 57:18those are the people that are going to
- 57:19that are going to get ahead quickly,
- 57:21those who are actually talking with the
- 57:23robots, learning how they think,
- 57:25learning how to collaborate, and gaining
- 57:28the skill of AI.
- 57:30I see it from like working with
- 57:31different business owners, the ones who
- 57:33are the best at AI have just been using
- 57:35it longer. It's that simple. You just
- 57:37need time in the game. And number four,
- 57:39last but not least, have fun. This is
- 57:42one of the coolest times to be alive.
- 57:45I'm serious. Besides being in Jerusalem
- 57:47when Jesus was alive, or besides maybe
- 57:49like the internet, this is awesome. Like
- 57:52this is brand new. This is going to
- 57:54change the entire world. And some people
- 57:56are like all doom and gloom about it,
- 57:58but hey, that's in God's hands. All I
- 58:00know is that this stuff is really cool
- 58:02and it's so much fun. And so, start with
- 58:04having fun. Don't try to like conquer
- 58:06the whole world with AI. Just have a fun
- 58:09project, try to make it, and see what
- 58:11happens. You have an idea for an app? Do
- 58:13it. See what see what happens, you know?
- 58:15Just just have fun. It's awesome. It's
- 58:18awesome. So, I hope you guys enjoyed. I
- 58:19love you all. Thank you all for watching
- 58:20these videos. If you know someone who
- 58:22this could benefit, please share it with
- 58:24them, you know, add value to their life
- 58:26if you found value from this. And I
- 58:28hopefully I'll see you guys inside of
- 58:29the Signal app. See you guys inside of
- 58:30the school soon. And yeah, take care.
