Full transcript
- 0:00You ever open up your closet and you
- 0:01feel like you got nothing to wear even
- 0:02though your closet is full? In this
- 0:04video, I'm going to teach you everything
- 0:05you need to know about how to building
- 0:06your wardrobe. From actually building a
- 0:07wardrobe, from what pieces to buy to how
- 0:09to balance exotic pieces and regular
- 0:11pieces. I'm J. Alexander. Let's get to
- 0:13it. Now, before we get to anything, the
- 0:14first thing we going to talk about is
- 0:16how to select your right basics. So, the
- 0:18problem is they either under buy or they
- 0:20over buy and they just got too too much
- 0:21dumb stuff going on in their wardrobe.
- 0:23Bro, the solution is to stock your
- 0:24wardrobe with essentials. Essentials
- 0:26that you can repeat and combine with
- 0:28your exotic pieces. Now, let me tell you
- 0:29exactly what you should get. Now, coming
- 0:31from somebody who has styled many people
- 0:33and I can dress myself. You know what
- 0:35I'm saying? I'm going to tell you
- 0:36exactly what to do and exactly where to
- 0:37start. You need two white TE's, two
- 0:39black TE's. Each of one needs to be
- 0:41cropped and one needs to be fitted
- 0:43because being fit is also being in
- 0:45shape. We're going to get into that. All
- 0:46right, that's ball knowledge. If you
- 0:47know, you know. You need four pair of
- 0:49jeans. And these jeans can be style
- 0:51however you want. You can go flare
- 0:52denim, you can go skinny denim, you can
- 0:54go baggy. It don't matter what you do.
- 0:55Buet, it don't matter. But you need two
- 0:57of each. You need two black ones and you
- 0:59need two blue ones. You need a blazer,
- 1:01preferably a black one because nine
- 1:02times out of 10, black is usually
- 1:04accepted everywhere that you go. You
- 1:05need two sweaters. And you can mix and
- 1:07match these. We going to get into how to
- 1:08pick the color palette way later in the
- 1:10video. Don't worry, we going to get into
- 1:11that. I got you, my brother. I got you.
- 1:13Or a sister, cuz I know my girls be
- 1:15watching. I didn't count y'all out.
- 1:17Okay, I know y'all be watching. I love
- 1:18y'all. Ja sisters, too. I love y'all.
- 1:20But you need two sweaters. And these
- 1:21sweaters can come from different
- 1:23materials. You can get you a cotton one.
- 1:24If you balling, if you hooping, get you
- 1:26a Kashmir joint. Now, me personally, I'm
- 1:28not hooping. So, I don't know nothing
- 1:29about that Kashmir lifestyle yet. But go
- 1:32Kashmir if you want to go cashmere.
- 1:34Preferably brown, blue, black. But like
- 1:36I said, we're going to get into color
- 1:37palettes later. All right. You need two
- 1:39dress shirts, one black and one white
- 1:40one, especially a white one. You're
- 1:43going to need two pair of sweatpants.
- 1:44That's for the color palette thing later
- 1:46in this video. Sweats are very, very
- 1:47important though. Very important.
- 1:50Preferably baggy sweats [music] because
- 1:52I don't know about y'all. I me
- 1:53personally, I'm not a skinny ribbed
- 1:55bottom type of sweat guy. I don't think
- 1:57that they offer that much versatility
- 1:59compared to how much baggy sweats can.
- 2:01Cuz if you want that skinny look, you
- 2:02could easily just tuck it in your sock.
- 2:03[music] If you're a hooper, you know
- 2:05that baggy sweats look way better on the
- 2:06court as well. They do not offer as much
- 2:08accessibility. But bro, we not trying to
- 2:10be Jason Bor gang. We trying to be fly.
- 2:12All of us, we came here to be fly
- 2:14suitable and bag that girl or bag that
- 2:16guy. But whatever it is, you know what
- 2:17I'm saying? That's what we came for. We
- 2:19ain't come to go drop 30. All right. So
- 2:20get them baggy sweats. Okay. Don't ask
- 2:22me about no brands. We going to get into
- 2:24that. Get you a white and a black tank
- 2:26[music] top. Okay, white and black.
- 2:29Specifically them two colors. Then we
- 2:31going to get into the jackets, more
- 2:32casual, of course. We going to get into
- 2:34statement pieces in this video as well
- 2:35and how to balance the exotics with the
- 2:37regulars. All right, you're going to get
- 2:38you a trench coat, a leather jacket, and
- 2:40a puffer. We not talking about dropping
- 2:4215,000 on the wardrobe right now. All
- 2:44right, we talking about the basics, what
- 2:46you need. And anybody who got real deal
- 2:48style will tell you this is what you
- 2:50need. Okay, the key here is to mix and
- 2:52match your statement pieces with your
- 2:54basics. Ja, you didn't even talk about
- 2:56statement pieces. We gonna [music] get
- 2:57into that, but balance is everything.
- 2:59Balance provides a good foundation for
- 3:01your outfits. And the basics are really
- 3:03what provide a foundation. And the
- 3:04exotic pieces are the ones that add
- 3:06personality and versatility to your
- 3:08clothes. But what about Balenciaga and
- 3:10Rick Owen? And we look, bro, we not
- 3:12worried about that right now. We going
- 3:13to get into that. That's my last time
- 3:14saying that. We going to get into it. I
- 3:16promise you. I got you. I love you. I
- 3:18know what you looking for. I got you, my
- 3:20brother. I've been there. Okay, look at
- 3:21my old fits. Okay, I've been there.
- 3:24Okay, but I want to prove to y'all.
- 3:26Y'all got to think people people main
- 3:28excuse that they use to not dress and
- 3:29not do this is I don't have [music]
- 3:31enough money. But the whole time you
- 3:33don't even need that much money to
- 3:34dress. It's about what's in here and
- 3:36it's about the videos and the things
- 3:37that you consume and the inspiration
- 3:39that you take to dress, [music] not how
- 3:40much money you got. Bro, do you know how
- 3:42many people on the internet have way
- 3:44more money than me? [ __ ] I'M POOR. I
- 3:46DON'T KNOW WHY Y'ALL BE THINKING I'M
- 3:48RICH. I'M NOT RICH, BRO. I don't know
- 3:49why y'all be thinking I'm rich. I don't
- 3:51got it like that. And I'm still one of
- 3:52the most best dressed. So, y'all got to
- 3:54stop with this. Oh, I need money. I need
- 3:57No, you don't. You don't. That's an
- 3:59excuse. And by the way, if you really
- 4:00need if you want to know where I get any
- 4:02of my clothes from, a specific piece, if
- 4:04you need help with mental, fashion,
- 4:06getting bullied, anything of them sorts,

- 4:28sorry for? I'M TRYING TO HELP Y'ALL.

- 4:31views on YouTube that I don't want to

- 4:53free. I'm not charging you nothing. It's
- 4:55for free. Next thing we're going to be
- 4:56talking about is where to shop from.
- 4:59Now, the problem is most people don't
- 5:00know how to buy clothes that actually
- 5:02fit and last. The solution is to shop
- 5:04smart. Splitting your payments from
- 5:05affordable, basic to premium, okay? Or
- 5:08that mid-range area. That's like the
- 5:09sweet spot. I'm gonna give y'all
- 5:11everything that I wear and then I'mma
- 5:13tell y'all my actual secret at the end
- 5:14of this section on what I do to get most
- 5:16of my clothes. Good Fellow and Hannes
- 5:18are perfect for TE's. Good Fellow is
- 5:20where you're going to get them fitted
- 5:21TE's. Hes is where you're going to get
- 5:22those affordable crop TE's. These TE's
- 5:25will not last you forever, but they will
- 5:27do the job and they will hold up for
- 5:29probably about a year, 6 months to a
- 5:31year. For hoodies and sweaters, you can
- 5:32shop at H&M and Unilo. I'm specifically
- 5:35I'm going to bring Uniqlo up again in
- 5:37this video, but I just want to say that
- 5:38Uniqlo and specifically regarding to the
- 5:41hoodies and the sweaters, they are mad
- 5:43affordable and for what the quality that
- 5:45you get. I ain't going to lie, this is
- 5:46one of the ones that's like one of the
- 5:47godfather. It's just golded, bro. It
- 5:49don't matter where it sat is golded. I
- 5:51can assure you even if I was rich and I
- 5:53was spending 10,000 on clothes, I would
- 5:55still go to Union Club for my TE's and
- 5:56my sweaters. I'm That's just me, though.
- 5:58For affordability, if you really want
- 5:59some good denim, I know this is like an
- 6:01obvious one, but I feel like for some
- 6:02reason we all overlook it. Levis's.
- 6:05Levis's. They offer so many different
- 6:07versatility from boot cuts, which is
- 6:08like literally everybody's eating that
- 6:10up on the internet right now. From baggy
- 6:12to skinny. [music] And if you know how
- 6:13to sew, you really could cook it up.
- 6:15That's another thing for another video.
- 6:16I know y'all want that video. I'm going
- 6:17to get y'all that video. That's another
- 6:19thing, another lane, another topic. But
- 6:20for mid-range, like I said, Quinc is
- 6:21really good. Zara is really good. Zara
- 6:24used to be cheap, but I don't know what
- 6:26happened. Ever since they went
- 6:27mainstream and blew up, bro, the prices
- 6:29have shot up. So that we going to go
- 6:30ahead and say mid-range. But the quality
- 6:32is decent. It's not the best. It's not
- 6:34going to last, you know, two, three
- 6:35years like a Ralph Lauren sweater will,
- 6:37but it will get you through what you
- 6:38need to do. And let's be honest, bro,
- 6:40two, three years from now, you gonna be
- 6:42able to afford that Ralph Lauren. You
- 6:43going to be able to afford that Burberry
- 6:45Berry. So, don't worry about it. Do what
- 6:46you got to do right now. So, you can
- 6:47slide on through. Keep it going, man. I
- 6:50hate these the people on the internet,
- 6:52bro. Don't be shopping from this place,
- 6:53bro. Cuz this place we didn't come up
- 6:54with headspun parents like you. If you
- 6:56did, that's cool. No offense to you. Do
- 6:58what you do. You blessed. I still f you.
- 7:00You still part of the family. But not
- 7:02all of us came from that. We all can't
- 7:03afford, bro, to go Ralph Lauren every
- 7:05single year. Some of us got single
- 7:07parents. Some of us, you know, hey, do
- 7:10what you got to do. Do what you got to
- 7:11do. Ain't no judgment here. That's why
- 7:12it's Ja Fanfo L. Discord in the
- 7:14description. Big community. They help
- 7:15you get right. Banana Republic, Uniqlo,
- 7:18cuz Uniqlo is definitely in the
- 7:19mid-range. They do get a little up
- 7:21there, but it is worth it. All Saints
- 7:23Hours are really good brands that aren't
- 7:25like super duper mainstream. They're
- 7:26more of like they came up in the
- 7:28internet culture, the Instagram culture,
- 7:29but they're tough. And I shot I get my
- 7:31bases from ours. Black Taylor, a lot of
- 7:33my jackets are from there. A lot of
- 7:34y'all ask me where my jackets are from.
- 7:35Black Taylor, that's another brand that
- 7:37fits into what I just said. Aloe and
- 7:39then Carheart. Now for the premium range
- 7:41for them who really balling, who really
- 7:43got it like that. Northace, Fear of God.
- 7:45I don't want to hear nothing about Fear
- 7:46of God. Oh, Fear of God. Listen, if you
- 7:48know fashion, you know about Fear of
- 7:50God. Polo, Ralph Lauren, Todd Snder,
- 7:53Laurel Piana, St. Laurent, obviously
- 7:55Margella, Acne Studios, Tom Ford, and
- 7:58Jay Alexander, which I don't know if
- 8:01y'all know about Jay Alexander, but it
- 8:02hasn't came out yet, but it's going to
- 8:04be tough when it come out, and the
- 8:05quality [music] going to be up there for
- 8:06affordable prices when you're shopping
- 8:08in the in the in the in the in the in
- 8:10the when you're shopping in the
- 8:11affordable range, you're going to be
- 8:12coming off about $100 to $500. Being
- 8:15realistic, if you're trying to build a
- 8:17full wardrobe, okay, from the mid-range,
- 8:19a,000 and from the premium, I don't
- 8:22know. All right, bro. You You might be
- 8:24spending anywhere from from from uh 3K
- 8:28to 10K to get up there, bro. I said
- 8:31Margello, bro. So, and notice how I
- 8:34didn't say Balenciaga and all this other
- 8:36stuff. Come here. Come here. Balenciaga
- 8:39is a statement brand. [music] Louis
- 8:41Vuitton is a statement brand. YSL and
- 8:45all these other things, I [music] did
- 8:46include them because they do have
- 8:47basics, okay? They do have the
- 8:50essentials that you need, but these are
- 8:52statement things. J8, what is a
- 8:55statement piece? No problem. A statement
- 8:57piece is a fashion item that stands out
- 8:59because it's the main focus of your
- 9:00outfit. It's usually bold, eye-catching,
- 9:03is crazy memorable, and for the most
- 9:05part, there's a high chance that it's
- 9:06the most expensive thing on your
- 9:08clothes. Hence, Balenciaga. Like, bro,
- 9:10let me show you an example. This these
- 9:12are literally by definition a statement
- 9:15piece. Cuz I wore basic fish to the
- 9:17airport. You know how people be wearing
- 9:18Uggs? But instead, I threw these in
- 9:21there. You know, cuz I have a beauty
- 9:22thing where like wherever I go, you got
- 9:23to know I'm in the swag. [music] You got
- 9:25to know I'm in the fashion. So, I wear
- 9:26these to the airport. These are
- 9:29literally the definition of a statement
- 9:30piece. They're extremely loud, extremely
- 9:33memorable. Bro, you don't understand how
- 9:34many compliments and looks I [music] get
- 9:36from just wearing these. The fit could
- 9:37legit be basic. And these will make the
- 9:40fit not basic. Statement [music] piece.
- 9:43But these go for about like $750 upwards
- 9:46to $1,000. These did come out like three
- 9:48years a two years ago. So the price on
- 9:50these, they kind of range. But statement
- 9:53piece up there. Statement piece. Those
- 9:55used to be a statement piece as well
- 9:57before everybody started to act like CDG
- 9:59wasn't the goat and that is overplayed
- 10:00and da da da. Those used to be a
- 10:02statement places. They used to go for
- 10:03like 175 200 some back in the day. So at
- 10:06this point, picture this. You just spend
- 10:07about $500 to $1,000 on clothes.
- 10:09Honestly, you're going to upwardsly
- 10:11spend that much money anyway in a year
- 10:12without even realizing it. Like you
- 10:14could tell yourself, "I'm not spending
- 10:15$1,000 on clothes. Are you crazy? But I
- 10:17can assure you this, my brother. Go
- 10:19through the whole year. All right. You
- 10:20going to keep buying clothes and boom,
- 10:22$1,000. Okay. So, at this point, you
- 10:24know what I'm saying? You done got some
- 10:25clothes. You got some wardrobe. You
- 10:27getting a little bit of the hus. You
- 10:28ain't going too crazy. But the h they
- 10:30starting to recognize you a little.
- 10:31Okay. He got a little bit of swag,
- 10:32right? Let me tell you the secrets. Come
- 10:34here. Come here. Come here. I'm one of
- 10:35the best dressed [ __ ] on here.
- 10:36Let me tell you what I do. Most clothes,
- 10:39anything you could think of that's
- 10:40goated. These clothes 99% of the time
- 10:42are made through China. No, I'm not
- 10:45about to talk about reps, but instead
- 10:46what I'm about to talk about is Alibaba.
- 10:48Okay? Now, if you go on Alibaba, bro,
- 10:50you can legit get the clothes directly
- 10:52sourced from the people who make these
- 10:54other brands. Your favorite Instagram
- 10:56brand, they probably use Alibaba. Your
- 10:58favorite uh clothing brand, da da, they
- 11:00probably don't use Alibaba cuz Alibaba
- 11:02is just it's like agents that talk to
- 11:04other people, right? But they probably
- 11:06manufacture, they get their clothes made
- 11:07in China. So, you could go on there and
- 11:09indirectly shop on China and get it.
- 11:11Like you can get a leather jacket from
- 11:13China. Now don't get me wrong. Yes,
- 11:15you're not going to have the history
- 11:16artifact. There's no feelings behind the
- 11:18clothes. Like this leather jacket was
- 11:20made back in 1990, bro. And back in
- 11:221990, it was a communist who wore this
- 11:24jacket and he then went on to save
- 11:26America. Listen, bro. It's just a
- 11:27regular real leather jacket you can get
- 11:29straight from China. Okay? If you don't
- 11:30care about that, which I know you don't
- 11:32care about that [ __ ] bro, then go to
- 11:34Ali.
- 11:36Get on Alibaba, bro, and get you some
- 11:39drip then. And you knew this was coming.
- 11:42Thrifting. Thrifting. Thrifting.
- 11:44Thrifting is the method. Every f bro,
- 11:47there's this influencer on here, bro.
- 11:49Name is Yes, I love Mari. He made a full
- 11:51series, blew up on YouTube um about
- 11:54thrifting. Literally about thrifting.
- 11:55Bro, thrifting is the meta. Thrifting is
- 11:58the wave, bro. Thrifting your the best
- 12:00the best people you know that are
- 12:02dressed that probably aren't celebrities
- 12:03because the best dressed celebrities are
- 12:05usually styled, okay? the best dress
- 12:07people, you know, like real day-to-day
- 12:08life people, they probably thrift. So,
- 12:10get used to thrifting. And I'm not
- 12:12talking about the the upward scale
- 12:14thrift stores that some people own and
- 12:16it's like, oh, they're just taking
- 12:17clothes and then they're upselling it
- 12:18orop. I'm not talking about that. Depop
- 12:20is a great place to shop as well. I'm
- 12:21not talking about that though. I'm
- 12:23specifically talking about going to
- 12:24places like Family Thrift, the outlet
- 12:26centers that have everything for a
- 12:28dollar or going to places like the
- 12:30Goodwill bins. Not actually Goodwill,
- 12:32but the Goodwill [music] bins. going to
- 12:33these places, going to um Salvation
- 12:36Army, going to places where you actually
- 12:37get real deals, real thrifted clothes.
- 12:39Go there. And lastly is going to be Dep
- 12:41Depot because now it be a lot of
- 12:43scammers on Depot. Matter of fact, look,
- 12:45if if it's not like some legit like
- 12:47random like Levi jeans or all this other
- 12:49stuff, don't buy don't buy from anybody
- 12:51that don't got a 4.5 rating or higher
- 12:52[music] and that don't got reviews and
- 12:54don't got a bunch of items. So, anything
- 12:56designer, bro, never in your life ever
- 12:58buy designer on depot. That is like
- 13:00you're getting, bro. I can guarant Bro,
- 13:02give me your money to me. Just give it
- 13:03to me. I'm going I'm going to do I'm
- 13:05GOING TO DO BETTER WITH IT. I'm just
- 13:06saying. You got some clothes, you got
- 13:08some drip, but you realize there
- 13:09something missing at your wardrobe. I
- 13:10got the clothes, J8, but now I ain't got
- 13:12no shoes. That's going to be the next
- 13:13thing we talk about. Shoes. Now, the
- 13:15problem is thinking that you need about
- 13:1715 different pair of shoes when you
- 13:19really only need about six, seven
- 13:20different shoes. Now, I'm going to
- 13:21perfectly tell you every type of shoe
- 13:23that you need in [music] your wardrobe.
- 13:24Let's do it. You going to need three
- 13:25pair of casual sneakers. These this can
- 13:28range from your Pumas to your Adidas
- 13:30sambas to your Chuck Taylor to your
- 13:32Margellas to your AS6 or your New
- 13:34Balances, your Jordan fours, your
- 13:37Bapstas, whatever. You're going to need
- 13:38a heavy boot. For example, heavy boots.
- 13:41Any form of Doc Martin platform like a
- 13:44combat boot or maybe even like a like a
- 13:46work boot [music] like a Timberland.
- 13:48What about Balenciaga? No. No, you don't
- 13:50got to go that crazy. You're going to
- 13:51need a pair of slides. You're going to
- 13:52need a pair of loafers. You're going to
- 13:54need a pair of dress shoes. I'm not.
- 13:55Dress shoes and loafers are two
- 13:57different things. By the way, if you
- 13:58want real sauce, I say get you a pair
- 14:00[music] of pointy Chelsea boots. Them
- 14:02them so hard. I ain't going to lie. Them
- 14:04so tough. Get you a pair of cowboy
- 14:06boots. This is like I said, this is me.
- 14:08Get you a pair of combat boots. This is
- 14:10me. Like I said, you don't got to do
- 14:11this, but if you want real swag, [music]
- 14:13I'm just saying this what I would do.
- 14:14And then you can get you some
- 14:15statements. We going to talk about
- 14:17statements later on in this video,
- 14:18though. Very short and simple. Like I
- 14:20said, that was a very short and simple
- 14:21[music] session, but it had to Hey, we
- 14:23got to get it in there, right? I'm not
- 14:25trying to make you watch a thousand
- 14:26videos. I'm trying to get you right
- 14:28right here, right now. Number four is
- 14:29going to be accessorizing. Now, before I
- 14:32tell you about accessorizing, let me
- 14:33just tell you something, okay? I have
- 14:35literally went and dropped a 23minute
- 14:37[music]
- 14:38video specifically on how to
- 14:39accessorize. I'm going to put it right
- 14:41here. If you really want to know the
- 14:43in-depth and details on how to
- 14:44accessorize to [music] a tea, watch that
- 14:47video. And I'm not even saying that to
- 14:48just like get more views. I'm legit
- 14:50telling you like, bro, that video I
- 14:52really broke it down and accessorize.
- 14:53So, check that out. And if you coming
- 14:54from this video, leave a comment. I will
- 14:56reply to you. By the way, if y'all
- 14:57haven't noticed, I reply to legit all
- 14:59the comments that I get. Literally,
- 15:01there's no comments on my videos that I
- 15:02don't reply to unless the video is like
- 15:043 months old. So, don't hesitate to ask
- 15:06me questions down there as well. Now,
- 15:08accessories is like the cherry on top,
- 15:10the icing on the cake, something that
- 15:11you need to finish off. It's like when
- 15:13your coach tell you to finish strong.
- 15:15That's exactly what accessorizing is.
- 15:16Cuz accessories is actually the part
- 15:18that most people skip. They get the
- 15:19clothes in and they skip over this part
- 15:20thinking that the clothes is going to be
- 15:22enough to make them fly. You're going to
- 15:23need your basics like watches, rings,
- 15:25and the minimal jewelry, glasses, pair
- 15:27of shades, scarfves, gloves. Bro,
- 15:29scarfves are really tough. And if you
- 15:31know how to really use a scarf to
- 15:33elevate your fit, bro, I'm telling you,
- 15:36scarfves add a whole different look onto
- 15:38your fashion. I'm talking about you can
- 15:40wear your scarf around your neck. You
- 15:41can put it in your pocket and have it
- 15:42hang. You can wear it like this and have
- 15:44one side hanging lower than the other. I
- 15:46do that. That's my swag. Scarfves are
- 15:47extremely versatile. Gloves, headphones,
- 15:50AirPod Max. Do y'all remember in 2020
- 15:52like 22 23 when everybody was like
- 15:55genuinely obsessed bro with AirPod Maxes
- 15:57and now they kind of just like they
- 15:58exist now it's kind of like regular now.
- 16:00Y'all remember that bro? Maybe it's cuz
- 16:01everybody got more money now. So it
- 16:03doesn't seem like it's these $500 pair
- 16:05of headphones that everybody's talking
- 16:06about. Maybe that's what it is. I don't
- 16:07know. But headphones, bags, and when I
- 16:09say bags, I mean anything ranging from a
- 16:11suitcase. Y'all miss that suitcase I did
- 16:12back there. A suitcase, a bag, like a
- 16:15cross body bag, maybe even a purse.
- 16:17Purses ain't gay, by the way. Let's stop
- 16:19right there and talk about this. Anybody
- 16:20who is telling you, "Oh, what you're
- 16:22doing is gay. Getting into fashion is
- 16:24gay." Da da da.
- 16:27In 2025, my brother, you really judging
- 16:29another man for what he wear. Who really
- 16:30gay for real? How clothes make you gay?
- 16:32That don't even make sense. I mean,
- 16:34maybe if you overdoing it, if you going
- 16:35like super flamboyant and no, no, no
- 16:37judgment to y'all. Y'all, y'all boys,
- 16:39y'all girls do what y'all do. But don't
- 16:41let these these these people out here
- 16:42try to define you by your clothes. All
- 16:44right, bro. You gay cuz you Nobody
- 16:46trying to hear none of that, bro. And if
- 16:48you deal with that, DM me on Instagram.
- 16:49I got you. But bags, especially bags,
- 16:51add a lot of character and versatility
- 16:52to your fits. And it can be bags like
- 16:54the cross body ones, the ones that hang
- 16:56like you were on the runway. It could be
- 16:57a suitcase. It could be a carry-on
- 17:00luggage, a purse. It could be it could
- 17:02be like the satchel bags, fanny packs.
- 17:04It's just up to you. It really it's on
- 17:05your style. It really depends what you
- 17:06want to do. I know that. And and by the
- 17:08way, I want you to understand no matter
- 17:09what your wardrobe is, it all comes down
- 17:11to style, which I will talk about later
- 17:13in this video as well. And lastly,
- 17:15earrings. Now, obviously, there's a lot
- 17:17more accessories. I didn't talk about
- 17:18like hats, chains, and all that because
- 17:20that's like common knowledge, right? But
- 17:22I want you to understand that it's not
- 17:24about how many accessories that you wear
- 17:26because there's minimalist accessorizing
- 17:28and there's maximum accessorizing, which
- 17:29is two different things, by the way,
- 17:30right?
- 17:33Come on, bro. Hey, I'm trying to help
- 17:35everybody. This [ __ ] falling, bro. I got
- 17:37interrupted, bro. Two interruptions in
- 17:39one video was crazy. But earrings now,
- 17:41like I was saying, there's maximalist
- 17:43and there's minimalist. Minimalist being
- 17:45sub tool. That's like the old money guys
- 17:47or the very subtle classy guys. I ain't
- 17:49going to lie. Look, minimalistic styling
- 17:51is definitely way more catered towards
- 17:53getting women. Women love minimalist
- 17:55styling. Unless, of course, it's a woman
- 17:56who's into fashion, which in 2025, not
- 17:59everybody's into fashion. Like, [music]
- 18:00the community is still mad niche. So, it
- 18:02could really be the subtle things. And I
- 18:04recommend you be sub, especially if
- 18:06you're just getting into fashion [music]
- 18:08or you're in the mid-range. be sub
- 18:09because sub accessorizing is usually way
- 18:12more successful when you're building an
- 18:13outfit. [music]
- 18:14Especially if the clothes you're wearing
- 18:16are actually really good because like I
- 18:17said, accessorizing is not the thing
- 18:19that makes your outfits. It is the small
- 18:21detail on top of everything that just
- 18:24add it's like fine wine like a nice sip
- 18:26of Chardonnay. Like it's really really
- 18:28tough. It's really really tough. It's
- 18:30the cake. It's the icing on the damn
- 18:32cake literally cuz your outfit should be
- 18:34treated like a masterpiece. And a
- 18:35masterpiece is when everything is right.
- 18:37Meaning every detail got to be right.
- 18:39Shoes, accessories, clothes, all of that
- 18:41is got to be right. We losers, okay?
- 18:45This fashion stuff not no joke. This is
- 18:46life.
- 18:48We used to be chopped back in the day.
- 18:49Then we got clothes and now we fly and
- 18:51we getting women. You know what I'm
- 18:52saying? These clothes, it's everything.
- 18:55I'm done. I'm done. Next topic, BRO. AT
- 18:57LAST, statement pieces. Now, the main
- 19:00issue everybody focuses is they either
- 19:01avoid statement pieces, thinking that
- 19:03they don't need exotic things about
- 19:04their outfits, or they overdo it. They
- 19:07go full Louis Vuitton top to bottom or
- 19:09they go full designer, bro. I went proud
- 19:11on the socks. I went lincy on the pants.
- 19:12[music] Louisie on the You don't need
- 19:14all that, my brother. And half the time
- 19:16the people who got the most bread don't
- 19:17know how to dress. That's why these
- 19:18people got stylist. That's why I'm a
- 19:20stylist.
- 19:22I'm a stylist. Yo, boy. Craig 20 years
- 19:25old. That's why. You should be using
- 19:27exotic/statement pieces to add [music]
- 19:29character, liveless, and the beauty in
- 19:32your outfits. Okay? If you don't
- 19:33understand what I'm saying, think of
- 19:35[music] it as this. I'm gonna put an
- 19:36outfit on screen. This is one of my
- 19:38favorite outfits. I've rewor tons and
- 19:39tons of times. But what makes this
- 19:41outfit good, right? Obviously, there's
- 19:43no shirt under the blazer, but what
- 19:45really [music] makes this outfit good is
- 19:47the chain. It is the double cross
- 19:49pendant in the middle of this outfit
- 19:50that adds that chic and that character
- 19:52[music] look. I can assure you, if I did
- 19:54not have this cross, this outfit would
- 19:56not be as good. Like [music] I said,
- 19:58statement pieces, they add character.
- 19:59And yes, a statement piece don't got to
- 20:01just be clothes. It don't got to be this
- 20:03giant suitcase in the back. It could
- 20:05just be the Santa Claus hat. This ass
- 20:07character, right? I'm in I'm in I'm in
- 20:08JA Christmas mode. Layer them smart and
- 20:11mix them properly [music] to create the
- 20:12perfect masterpiece for your clothes.
- 20:14Think about my wardrobe. Yes, I got St.
- 20:16Lauron. Yes, I got Valencia and all
- 20:17these different things, right? But I
- 20:18want you to understand, for the most
- 20:20part, all my fits are dumb. Like [music]
- 20:22from a surface level, it's basic. Look
- 20:24at the fit on screen. Black jacket,
- 20:27black pants, [music] black shoes. Let's
- 20:30get closer. Chromeart Tims, right?
- 20:33Double cross pendant, [music] right?
- 20:35Staint Laurent glasses. You probably
- 20:37know that though, but Staint Laurent
- 20:38glasses, [music] right? These things,
- 20:41they add character, they add style, they
- 20:43add the pop, they make the fits not
- 20:45exot, not basic. If you all black type
- 20:47of guy, but guess [music] what? You just
- 20:49seen a scarf and this scarf is blue,
- 20:50red, and yellow. Hey, you were all
- 20:53black, but you could just boom, throw it
- 20:54in there, pop. Add some style. Add some
- 20:56swag. Add some new some new stuff to
- 20:57your wardrobe. Number six is going to be
- 20:59style. what we just talked about. That's
- 21:02why I love doing my videos like this
- 21:03because everything makes sense. These
- 21:05creators, they give you random, bro. Do
- 21:06this. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 21:08Why would I tell you where to get the
- 21:10clothes from and where to do all this
- 21:11other stuff, you're just going to keep
- 21:13coming back to me, my brother. I want
- 21:15you to know yourself. I want you to be
- 21:17swag yourself. I'm not going to teach
- 21:19you a skill. I'm not going to just hold
- 21:22withhold some information so you keep
- 21:23coming back to me. No, that's why my
- 21:26videos be mad different. Style. Let's
- 21:28get to it. You see how I just locked in
- 21:29right there? Now, the problem is most
- 21:31people don't know how to actually build
- 21:33style. They just get on Pinterest, they
- 21:34see what everybody else wearing, and
- 21:36then they just copy that. When that's
- 21:38not the case. Style is the fine-tuning
- 21:40things. It's the knowledge on things.
- 21:42It's the characteristics of your fits to
- 21:44actually make your fit better. You can't
- 21:45buy swag. You can't buy style. You just
- 21:47got to know. And I'm about to educate
- 21:49you. And I'm going to give y'all
- 21:50multiple different ways you can add swag
- 21:51to your clothes. The first one being
- 21:53proportioning and layering. Put this fit
- 21:54back on screen, Ja. Now, this fit right
- 21:56here is perfect. But let me tell you why
- 21:58this fit is perfect. It's not perfect
- 21:59because the pieces, although if you if
- 22:01you pee what I saw earlier in this
- 22:02video, the pieces what I said, get you a
- 22:04black blazer, get you a pair of heavy
- 22:06shoes, get you a pair of pants, right?
- 22:08But let's take a look at the actual fit.
- 22:10Okay, this fit has a open blazer, right?
- 22:13That's swag. There's a heavy chain
- 22:14instead. That's swag. Look at the pants.
- 22:17The pants have a flare. So, this creates
- 22:19an hourglass silhouette. That's swag.
- 22:21Then the heavy chrome heart tims. That
- 22:23is swag. But it's all basic, right? It's
- 22:26all basic. It's just black shoes, black
- 22:28pants, and a black blazer. That's it,
- 22:30right? But we all can see that that's
- 22:32not it. I'm not trying to hype my head
- 22:33up. I'm trying to use me as an example
- 22:36because I've had a lot of people in my
- 22:37community literally say that they got
- 22:39inspired by this fit, right? And I'm
- 22:41telling y'all, what make this fit good
- 22:43is the swag of it. It is not the pieces
- 22:45of it, my brother. It is the swag. The
- 22:47next thing is going to be, like I talked
- 22:48about earlier in this video, your color
- 22:49palette. But if I'm you, and especially
- 22:51if I'm getting into fashion, I would say
- 22:53stick to neutrals. There is no reason
- 22:55you should have a all yellow, orange,
- 22:57and red wardrobe. We have issues. Now,
- 23:00I'm not going to tell you what colors to
- 23:01stick to in the neutral range, but if I
- 23:03was you, I would recommend blue and
- 23:05black and white. It's the perfect things
- 23:07that create the base of your outfits and
- 23:09then you add the things that pop. You
- 23:11add the swag that pop, right? I was blue
- 23:13and black last year. The year before
- 23:15that, I was just blue. I was a denim
- 23:16type guy and now I'm a all black type
- 23:18guy. I don't know what I'm going to do
- 23:19uh for next year. It might be a all
- 23:22black year again next year cuz I really
- 23:24love this year, man. I'm so happy I got
- 23:25y'all. I love y'all, man, with my whole
- 23:27heart. Ja fam for Lel. By the way, if
- 23:29you don't know what's going on, it's Ja
- 23:31Christmas. You should have You should
- 23:32have went and go watch that first video.
- 23:34I'm literally doing a giveaway. All you
- 23:35got to do is drop a comment on this
- 23:36video, go on Instagram, send me a
- 23:38screenshot of a comment, follow me, and
- 23:40just say I came from this video. And
- 23:42just like that, you end. But colors is a
- 23:44nice way to add swag to your things.
- 23:46Proportions is a nice way to add swag to
- 23:47your thing. But most importantly, swag
- 23:50itself. Okay? Having the mindset to be
- 23:53able to look at something, take the
- 23:54inspiration, and then add it to your own
- 23:55pace. This this whole look right here is
- 23:57inspired by Brad Pit Fight Club
- 23:59specifically. Okay? And I've had this
- 24:01jacket, bro, for years. That thing in my
- 24:03brain has transferred from then all the
- 24:05way to now to then influence me now to
- 24:07wear my clothes like this. Style ain't
- 24:08just about clothes. It's about how you
- 24:09carry yourself straight like that.
- 24:11Number seven is going to be versatility
- 24:13testing. Now, the problem is most people
- 24:14buy clothes and they don't even think
- 24:16about what they got at the crib. you
- 24:17buying you on Instagram getting
- 24:18Instagram clothes and getting Instagram
- 24:20merch talking man I'm I'm going to go
- 24:22shop here I'm gonna go shop here you
- 24:23don't even know if the clothes going to
- 24:24work with your wardrobe at the crib you
- 24:26don't even know the solution is before
- 24:28buying imagine [music] three different
- 24:29outfits at the crib can you make three
- 24:31different outfits with these pieces and
- 24:33unless you plan to build a wardrobe
- 24:34that's [music] specifically all
- 24:35statement pieces which I highly do not
- 24:38recommend unless you're rich right but
- 24:40even the rich that actually got styled
- 24:42don't do that can I pair it with [music]
- 24:43basics which for the most part if you
- 24:45follow the basic list I said earlier in
- 24:46the You can. If you can't layer with
- 24:48hoodies, don't buy it. If you can't
- 24:50layer with with shorts and pants, don't
- 24:51buy it. If you can't mix it with staving
- 24:53pieces, don't buy it. You need strategic
- 24:55buying. All right. The problem is most
- 24:57people they end up they shop randomly,
- 24:59bro. They just see what everybody else
- 25:00buying and they like, "Okay, cool. I'mma
- 25:02buy it, bro, cuz everybody else buying
- 25:03it." Sure, you want to be versatile and
- 25:04I get it. And you can prioritize that as
- 25:06well. But make sure you got the basics
- 25:08and a nice foundation to create a
- 25:09structured versatility foundation
- 25:11because it's not always going to be hot
- 25:12outside. So why is your whole wardrobe
- 25:14only shorts and shirts? Map your closet
- 25:16out. Be serious. Be intentional about
- 25:17it, bro. I get it. It might not be that
- 25:19serious, but when it's time to go
- 25:20outside, when it's time to go on them
- 25:22dates, when it's time to go with your
- 25:23guys, your girls, when it's time to step
- 25:25out, when it's time to do something, you
- 25:26going to think about your fit and you
- 25:27going to be like, "Dang, I should have
- 25:28just bought this. I should have." It's
- 25:30always better to invest in yourself, to
- 25:31be honest. If you really think about it,
- 25:33cuz if you don't spend, y'all ever just
- 25:34be wanting to spend money on yourself,
- 25:36but then you be like, "Man, I'm not I'm
- 25:37not trying to spend money. I'm just
- 25:38trying to invest in myself." And then
- 25:39you end up spending the money on
- 25:40something dumb and temporary. Anyway,
- 25:42y'all get what I'm trying to say,
- 25:43though. Now, the last thing we're gonna
- 25:44be talking about for my JA fam who isn't
- 25:46new here, if you watch all the way to
- 25:48the video, you are now a part of the JA
- 25:50ecosystem. JA stands for J Alexander.
- 25:52That's my name, by the way. You're now a
- 25:54part of the ecosystem. And we're going
- 25:56to talk about the mental part of
- 25:57building a wardrobe. These things are a
- 25:59part of you. And I'm not saying they
- 26:00define you, but they definitely define a
- 26:02small portion of your life. When you're
- 26:03getting into these things, understand
- 26:04that you probably will fail. [music] You
- 26:06probably will buy certain pieces from
- 26:07certain brands that I probably didn't
- 26:09say or did say. They might not fit. They
- 26:10might fit you. They might [music] not.
- 26:11But that's what comes with the game. It
- 26:13took me 3 years, all right, 3 years to
- 26:15get to this point of being a veteran at
