- 0:05If you ever wanted to make a video from
- 0:08pictures in Canva, you don't have to
- 0:10leave your photos sitting completely
- 0:12still. In this video, I'm going to show
- 0:14you how to animate pictures in Canva and
- 0:17make your photos move, zoom, fade, and
- 0:20come to life. I'll show you several
- 0:23different animation options. and I'll
- 0:25also show you how to control the timing
- 0:28so your animations look smooth and
- 0:30professional. Let's get started. Let's
- 0:33start with a new video design in Canva.
- 0:36I'm going to create a standard landscape
- 0:38video and add a photograph to the first
- 0:41page. For this example, I'm going to
- 0:43make the picture fill the entire video
- 0:45frame. You can use any photograph you
- 0:48want, but I'm going to use several
- 0:51different photos so I can show you how
- 0:53different animations work.
- 0:55Now, let's animate this picture. First,
- 0:58make sure the picture is selected. Then,
- 1:01look at the toolbar at the top of the
- 1:03screen and click animate. This opens
- 1:06canvas animation options. Sometimes when
- 1:08you set the photograph to replace the
- 1:11background, the animation doesn't work.
- 1:13So, what you might have to do is um
- 1:16detach it from the background and then
- 1:17just adjust it to fit into the picture.
- 1:20You'll see that Canva gives you several
- 1:22different ways to animate an element.
- 1:25Some animations make the picture appear
- 1:27on the screen, some make it move, and
- 1:29others create different visual effects.
- 1:32The important thing to remember is that
- 1:34the animation is being applied to the
- 1:36picture itself.
- 1:40Okay, for the first one here, what we're
- 1:42going to do for this first photo is
- 1:45we're just going to choose fade. So on
- 1:48here you have all these choices and
- 1:50we're going to come down here and you're
- 1:51going to select fade. I'm going to drag
- 1:54this to the beginning and you can see
- 1:55how it fades in. And what you can do is
- 1:58um you can animate on enter, on exit or
- 2:01both. And so if you do on enter, this
- 2:05will just be it fades in. And then you
- 2:08can also change the speed. So, if you
- 2:12wanted to go slower,
- 2:14it could fade in slow.
- 2:17Um, if you want to go fast, it fades in
- 2:20really fast. And then there's medium.
- 2:24I usually like to set it to uh a slower
- 2:27fade.
- 2:29So, I'll put it on slow and then it'll
- 2:31fade in.
- 2:32So, here I like the second image here.
- 2:35Same thing. If you wanted to do fade
- 2:37again for for that, click fade
- 2:41on enter
- 2:43and you can slow down the speed.
- 2:47So
- 2:51there's so you can see that it can be
- 2:54really cool to do different
- 2:59different ones. So you can click on and
- 3:02do different. There's pan.
- 3:06There's
- 3:07you can have it move up.
- 3:10So there's different animations, you
- 3:12know, that you can do and you can do
- 3:13them different animations for each one.
- 3:16And so that can be really cool. I like
- 3:18to do this breathe technique. this this
- 3:22breathe animation
- 3:24where it
- 3:27it's moving like zooming in.
- 3:30So click on breathe
- 3:33and so you can see it's it's zooming in
- 3:35on the on the image
- 3:37and you can do it to where it breathes
- 3:39in. You can do it to where it breathes
- 3:40out.
- 3:42So there's in.
- 3:45So you can make it look bigger, make it
- 3:47look smaller. Then there's another thing
- 3:49you can do. um which you can kind of
- 3:52make you can kind of zoom in more on a
- 3:56specific part of the image. What you'll
- 3:58do is you need to duplicate this.
- 4:03And so with this next image,
- 4:06this is the one that you change it.
- 4:10So let's say you want to zoom in on this
- 4:12waterfall.
- 4:16So it's going to zoom in on this second
- 4:18image.
- 4:19So you got So you go up to transition,
- 4:23you get the match and move selected and
- 4:25you can change how quickly it does. So
- 4:27let's say um it's going to take longer.
- 4:31So let's see what it looks like.
- 4:34So that's a a slower and then a faster
- 4:37one. Let's go back in and um this this
- 4:43will be a lot faster.
- 4:45So let's see what this looks like.
- 4:48So, that's really quick. I usually like
- 4:50to set it to a slower one. I think that
- 4:53looks really cool.
- 4:58Something else you could do is you can
- 5:00make it to where the photo moves across
- 5:03the screen is we're going to make this
- 5:06bigger.
- 5:11So, what you're going to do is you're
- 5:14going to start with it like this.
- 5:17And then what you're going to do is you
- 5:18got to duplicate this page.
- 5:21And now on the second page, what we're
- 5:23going to do is we're going to grab it
- 5:24and slide it over.
- 5:33Now, make sure you right click, change
- 5:36transition, make sure it's on match and
- 5:37move
- 5:39the speed you want, and then play it.
- 5:44Now, so it's moving across the screen.
- 5:47Now, let's upload some music.
- 5:50Click on upload. Then, if you have
- 5:52something to upload, click on upload
- 5:54files. And once it's in here, you just
- 5:57click on it and drag it on.
- 6:02Now, moving on over.
- 6:05If you'd like, you can adjust the audio
- 6:08so that it fades in in the beginning. So
- 6:12it could fade in
- 6:14and then they could fade out.
- 6:17And then of course you can adjust. I
- 6:20have these. They're each 3 seconds long.
- 6:22So you can just grab here, click and
- 6:24grab. And you can adjust the the timing.
- 6:28Okay. Now let's watch the finished
- 6:30video.
- 6:50So, that is how you can animate pictures
- 6:53in Canva. In my next videos, I'll be
- 6:55showing you more ways to make pictures
- 6:57move, create smooth transitions, and add
- 7:00professionallooking effects to your
- 7:02Canva videos. Thanks for watching and
- 7:04I'll see you in the next video.
