- 0:19hmm
- 0:20don't worry i think it will get back in
- 0:23a while
- 0:24hey friends kitty and i are sending our
- 0:27halloween pictures to our friends but
- 0:30unfortunately we lost our internet
- 0:33connection
- 0:34and i'm sure you already know how it
- 0:38feels when that happens
- 0:40as it's difficult to imagine our lives
- 0:44without the internet nowadays
- 0:48wait a minute
- 0:49that's an excellent topic to explore
- 0:53hello friends
- 0:54have you ever wondered what the internet
- 0:57exactly is
- 0:58and how it works
- 1:01i'm sure you did so by the time the
- 1:04internet reconnects let's search the
- 1:07world of the internet and learn how it
- 1:11works
- 1:12zoom in
- 1:14well
- 1:15when i was young i believed that the
- 1:18internet was some magic trick created by
- 1:21a secret group of magicians
- 1:24which makes it float through the clouds
- 1:27[Music]
- 1:29but
- 1:30when i came across its actual definition
- 1:33i understood that it is a network that
- 1:37connects
- 1:38millions of computers worldwide
- 1:43but the important question still remains
- 1:45the same
- 1:46how does this magic happen
- 1:50imagine you and your friend want to
- 1:53share a picture or some other essential
- 1:56document with each other
- 1:58and to do so the first thing you both
- 2:01will need are computers that are
- 2:04connected in a network with the help of
- 2:08the
- 2:09internet
- 2:10then once you establish this connection
- 2:14you visit the website using a browser
- 2:18log into your account
- 2:20type your message
- 2:22or attach the file you wish to send and
- 2:25finally when everything is done
- 2:28you press the send button
- 2:31and
- 2:32voila it's done
- 2:34sounds easy right
- 2:37well what looked so easy at first glance
- 2:41has a complex system working behind it
- 2:44yes my friends the messages you send are
- 2:48actually enormous in size and it's very
- 2:52hard for the internet to carry such a
- 2:55massive packet to its destination
- 2:59so to make it easier this huge packet is
- 3:03broken down
- 3:04into
- 3:05smaller packages and then they are moved
- 3:09further to the receiver with the help of
- 3:12an essential device called the router
- 3:16and what is a router a router is a
- 3:19networking device that helps in the
- 3:22transfer of data packets between
- 3:25computer networks
- 3:27in other words from a sender to the
- 3:30receiver
- 3:31but how
- 3:33well
- 3:34it does with the help of an internet
- 3:37protocol or an ip address
- 3:41oh no
- 3:43now what's an ip address so many
- 3:46technical terms
- 3:50but
- 3:51let me explain
- 3:52just like you have your home address
- 3:55every server has its unique address
- 3:58called the ip address that allows a
- 4:02system to be recognized by other systems
- 4:06connected via internet protocol
- 4:09when the packets are received by the
- 4:12router the router reads the ip address
- 4:15information mentioned on the package and
- 4:18then sends it to the correct path to
- 4:21reach its destination by following
- 4:24certain rules
- 4:28yes my friends just like we have traffic
- 4:32rules to protect us from any accidents
- 4:35the internet has some rules and
- 4:37regulations as well
- 4:40called the tcp
- 4:43tcp is a set of protocols developed for
- 4:48the internet to get data from one
- 4:50network device to another and by
- 4:53following these protocols the data gets
- 4:57delivered in the best possible way to
- 5:00its destination without any problem and
- 5:03issues
- 5:05when these packets finally arrive at the
- 5:08receiver's router they are put together
- 5:11according to the instructions and that's
- 5:14how your friend's computer receives your
- 5:17message and believe me all this happens
- 5:21within just a fraction of seconds
- 5:24isn't it really magical friends
- 5:27trip your time
- 5:29did you know the first ever email was
- 5:32sent in
- 5:341971
- 5:35also it is estimated that four billion
- 5:39out of the seven billion people on earth
- 5:42are already online
- 5:44and thanks to the internet you can see
