  1. 0:00Tonight I shall speak of a method I have
  2. 0:02given to many of my students, a method
  3. 0:05by which numerous men and women
  4. 0:07have witnessed their desires take form
  5. 0:10without strain and without effort.
  6. 0:13It does not require the building of
  7. 0:15scenes or the arrangement of pictures.
  8. 0:18It is a simple shift of being,
  9. 0:22a direct movement into the end.
  10. 0:24As you prepare for sleep, lie up on the
  11. 0:27bed of the life you desire.
  12. 0:30This act is not limited to a house or a
  13. 0:32room. It may concern any realm of life
  14. 0:35you choose to occupy.
  15. 0:37If you seek a new role, a new level of
  16. 0:40achievement,
  17. 0:41a new way of being,
  18. 0:43then rest as the one who already holds
  19. 0:46that position.
  20. 0:48The place you select in imagination need
  21. 0:51not resemble your present surroundings,
  22. 0:54for the scene is never the cause. The
  23. 0:57cause is the state you assume.
  24. 1:00And every path adjusts itself to that
  25. 1:03acceptance.
  26. 1:04This single act has carried many into
  27. 1:07new experiences.
  28. 1:09Its power rests upon one truth. The
  29. 1:11state accepted at the edge of sleep
  30. 1:14descends to the deepest level and later
  31. 1:17emerges as the world you meet.
  32. 1:20Therefore, tonight, allow yourself to
  33. 1:23rest elsewhere, not upon the bed the
  34. 1:26senses report, but upon the bed that
  35. 1:28belongs to the life you claim.
  36. 1:31Feel another sheet beneath your hand.
  37. 1:34Feel a blanket with a different weight.
  38. 1:37Sense the arrangement of a room that
  39. 1:39does not match your present
  40. 1:41surroundings.
  41. 1:43Let the atmosphere suggest the place
  42. 1:45that belongs to the life you have
  43. 1:47chosen.
  44. 1:49Even if unfamiliar to the eyes,
  45. 1:52do not force this act. Permit the
  46. 1:55sensation to form.
  47. 1:57When the feeling settles and holds its
  48. 2:00shape,
  49. 2:01you have entered a new state.
  50. 2:03This work asks only one question, where
  51. 2:06do I dwell in consciousness?
  52. 2:09For the world reshapes itself according
  53. 2:12to the state that has been accepted. And
  54. 2:14nothing remains unchanged once that
  55. 2:18acceptance is made.
  56. 2:21Many who have entered this act with
  57. 2:23conviction have spoken of swift
  58. 2:25movements in their affairs.
  59. 2:27Doors opening without request.
  60. 2:29Offers appearing without search.
  61. 2:32And circumstances forming in harmony
  62. 2:34with the state they assumed.
  63. 2:37Yet none of it feels extraordinary to
  64. 2:39the one who has lived there in
  65. 2:41imagination.
  66. 2:43For the expression of a claimed state
  67. 2:45arrives with the ease of any ordinary
  68. 2:48event.
  69. 2:50Enter this act night after night
  70. 2:53until the state begins to feel natural.
  71. 2:56Duration is never the power. The power
  72. 2:59lies in the sincerity of the act.
  73. 3:02Some find the shift in a single night.
  74. 3:04Others in several. But all who remain
  75. 3:07steady in this simple practice find that
  76. 3:10the inner claim prevails and the outer
  77. 3:13world follows.
  78. 3:15So tonight close your eyes and lie where
  79. 3:18you choose to live.
  80. 3:20Let that acceptance be the final
  81. 3:22condition
  82. 3:23carried into sleep.
  83. 3:25For the bed claimed in imagination
  84. 3:27becomes the ground upon which you rise
  85. 3:31in the world of fact.
