- 0:01What if I told you guys there's a way
- 0:02you can stop guessing on direction in
- 0:06the market and start winning and being
- 0:08correct at what direction the market's
- 0:10going to go? I can give you guys my
- 0:13exact road map to how I establish each
- 0:16and every trade that I get and truly
- 0:18work to unlock more consistent profit
- 0:21for you guys. In this proven checklist,
- 0:24I'm really going to go into a deep dive
- 0:27into how exactly it works, just
- 0:30specifically on the entry side. That
- 0:32way, a lot of you guys can focus on
- 0:35having more consistency and
- 0:38understanding how the market moves. You
- 0:40guys can really start to trade smarter,
- 0:43not harder. Without further ado, let's
- 0:46jump right into things.
- 0:49All right, guys. Here we're looking at
- 0:51the fiveminute chart on ES. 90% of my
- 0:55analysis is done just on the five-minute
- 0:58chart. Okay?
- 1:01And I trade ES in particular on the
- 1:03future side. If you're an options
- 1:04trader, stock trader, the equivalent,
- 1:07you know, might be the spy, um, the SPY,
- 1:10something like that. Um, and really how
- 1:14I break down the market and how I look
- 1:16at how the market works is I think it
- 1:18moves in two ways. So, what we tend to
- 1:21see is we tend to see trend structure,
- 1:23right? We've all heard the term trend
- 1:25structure. And if you haven't, that's
- 1:27totally okay. I'll explain it to you
- 1:29really quickly. Um,
- 1:32it really comes down to higher highs,
- 1:34higher lows. And for a downtrend
- 1:36example, which we don't actually see in
- 1:38price here, um, that'll look something
- 1:41like this. Lower lows, lower highs. This
- 1:43is trend structure, okay? And I break it
- 1:46down into two specific phases that the
- 1:49market tends to go through. Okay, phase
- 1:52one is what I call a range phase. Okay,
- 1:55so kind of step one in identifying trend
- 1:58and the market is identifying a range.
- 2:03Okay, a range is defined where price
- 2:06trades in between two points. It may not
- 2:08look like this in the moment. Um, but as
- 2:11price is playing out somewhere like
- 2:13let's say here price is here, we could
- 2:17identify that hey, we're trading between
- 2:20a high and a low. If current price is
- 2:22sitting in between that, that would be
- 2:23considered a range. And the cool thing
- 2:26is we tend to see multiple ranges
- 2:28throughout the day. Uh like for example,
- 2:31you know, here' be another one where at
- 2:32some point price is trading in between
- 2:34itself. And same goes for the downside.
- 2:37Okay, price trades in between itself
- 2:39kind of like this. Whoops.
- 2:44And same for right here. Okay, so
- 2:46remember this is a phase one and this is
- 2:48a range. Okay,
- 2:51where a lot of traders go wrong is they
- 2:54actually trade within a range. Okay, and
- 2:56that's why for a lot of people trading
- 2:58can be really frustrating. um because
- 3:00they actually find themselves in my
- 3:02opinion trading at the worst possible
- 3:04time um and sitting back at the most
- 3:08opportune time to trade. And I'll
- 3:09explain that to you guys in in heavy
- 3:11heavy detail. For me, this phase is for
- 3:14watching. Okay? So here and here, this
- 3:17is all for watching. I am not going to
- 3:20trade. I'm not going to
- 3:23buy or sell anything. I'm just going to
- 3:25watch when price is trading between
- 3:26itself. And why most traders find
- 3:30themselves trading in this this phase is
- 3:33a lot of retail strategies out there,
- 3:36you know, really encourage it. You know,
- 3:38that is built a lot around supply and
- 3:40demand, support and resistance where,
- 3:43you know, they see price, you know,
- 3:45maybe reject off of this level here and,
- 3:48you know, maybe they're going to short
- 3:49the next time it comes up to that level
- 3:51or, you know, they're they're going to
- 3:53try to buy the dip and guess exactly
- 3:56where the dip's going to be. It's
- 3:57impossible to do that consistently in my
- 3:59opinion. It's it's um it's very
- 4:03predictive. You're trying to predict
- 4:04what what and where the market's going
- 4:06to go. And to me, it's next to
- 4:08impossible. Um instead, it's just for
- 4:11watching and waiting. Okay. And the
- 4:14second phase um in this philosophy of
- 4:17price action that I have is um when
- 4:22price exit exits this higher low it
- 4:25enters into a trend phase. So a trend
- 4:28phase is like here to here where price
- 4:31starts to move down and that direction
- 4:34is consistent or move up and that
- 4:36direction is consistent. You know like
- 4:39this could be a trend phase here. This
- 4:41could be a trend phase. This is a trend
- 4:44phase. So, it goes into trend phases and
- 4:46then range phases and trend phases and
- 4:48range phases. Okay, so you guys might be
- 4:51asking, you know, it's not typically
- 4:53this cut and dry. Like, it's not
- 4:55typically, hey, it it ranges and then it
- 4:58goes up or goes straight down. And um
- 5:01you're right, it's not doesn't look
- 5:04exactly like this, but
- 5:07uh it doesn't look that far off if you
- 5:09know exactly what you're looking for.
- 5:11And I'll kind of explain kind of explain
- 5:14why here. Um so think about those range
- 5:18phases versus trend phases.
- 5:22what we see in the morning. So kind of
- 5:25when the US market opens, what we tend
- 5:29to see, believe it or not, is we tend to
- 5:31see the market range. Okay?
- 5:36So the market ranges
- 5:38generally within the first hour, we tend
- 5:42to see a range. And remember how it's
- 5:43defined just between a high and a low
- 5:46point. Okay? So, what I like to do is I
- 5:50like to identify that high point,
- 5:52identify that low point kind of right
- 5:54after the market opens. Give it some
- 5:56time and let it set up. And for me, it
- 5:59looks something like this, okay?
- 6:03Where we have our high point and we have
- 6:04our low point. Now, you some of you
- 6:06experienced traders may already see
- 6:09something that looks probably different
- 6:11from what a lot of you guys
- 6:14uh focus on, which is I only focus on
- 6:17candle body highs and lows. I don't tend
- 6:19to focus too much on the actual price
- 6:23action high or the actual price action
- 6:25low. You know, my philosophy is the
- 6:27buying and selling is actually done kind
- 6:30of more or less in a block or in a range
- 6:32where, you know, people are buying
- 6:34through here or selling through here. I
- 6:36can kind of drag it out here where you
- 6:38see all these wicks here and then all
- 6:41these wicks in here where the buying and
- 6:43selling is actually being done. My goal
- 6:45is to identify when that stops. And I'll
- 6:47show you what I mean by that here in a
- 6:49second as we let this play out. So, what
- 6:52I look for is waiting to see price
- 6:54action break and close over. Not just
- 6:57price get over that level, but I want to
- 7:00see a candle actually close above or
- 7:02below. In this situation, we see it
- 7:04close above. And just real quick before
- 7:07I move on from this,
- 7:09I want to clarify that it's the same
- 7:11idea. If price closes below, you know, I
- 7:14may look to take a short trade. Okay?
- 7:16So, it's generally no no different. Um,
- 7:20it's really hard to tell here. I can
- 7:22zoom way in real quick, but we actually
- 7:24do see price close and break below,
- 7:27excuse me, close and break over. Um, and
- 7:31that would be, you know, in this
- 7:33situation and with price action, this is
- 7:36price action from today. Um, you know,
- 7:40we we we see price break and close over.
- 7:44Um, that would be my entry in this
- 7:47situation. So this is a situation where
- 7:49I would enter into this trade and the
- 7:51reason being is we're entering into a
- 7:53trend phase. So very similar to like a
- 7:57range that we see up here in the top
- 7:59right. Okay, price is breaking over out
- 8:03of that range and it's entering into a
- 8:05trend phase. So we exited the range
- 8:08phase and we're entering into a trend
- 8:10phase after price broke broke above. So
- 8:12the idea here is price should be moving
- 8:15cleanest and clearest upward in this
- 8:18situation. Will it move just straight up
- 8:20and break out? Sometimes it will,
- 8:22sometimes it won't. But the idea is
- 8:24there's a high high probability that the
- 8:28trend will continue in this direction
- 8:30for a significant period of time. Okay.
- 8:33So in this situation,
- 8:36you know, for example, here would be my
- 8:37entry on that candle close. Okay. So,
- 8:41I'm entering.
- 8:43We'll say entry
- 8:46entry into um
- 8:50this position as we see price move up.
- 8:54And I can show you guys as we see price
- 8:56play out, we actually see it retest off
- 8:59that level, which only confirms
- 9:02um
- 9:03the the trade even more that it's, you
- 9:06know, our levels or our range was
- 9:08exactly where they should have been. um
- 9:10cuz price respected it, you know,
- 9:13completely and we really see price
- 9:18play out. Okay, so we see price trend up
- 9:22almost all day. Like really, it's that
- 9:24simple. I mean, with my strategy, too,
- 9:27we see, you know, a couple ranges a day,
- 9:29but you know, with the way I trade, I
- 9:32mean, really, I may take one to two
- 9:34trades a day most of the time. uh really
- 9:37let a lot of my good trades play out. Uh
- 9:40I mean, as you guys can see, you know,
- 9:42letting this trade play out for the
- 9:44majority of the day,
- 9:46just having the right entry, not trying
- 9:48to predict more of trying to react to
- 9:51where price um is going than try to
- 9:55predict where it's going to go. I mean,
- 9:56I'm just waiting for price to break over
- 9:58the range, enter into a trend phase, and
- 10:00then really allow the trade to to really
- 10:04play out. Then the other thing is is you
- 10:06you can get pretty finite I guess would
- 10:09be the term like with the with the
- 10:11strategy as well. Like when you start to
- 10:15see like here's another example like
- 10:19when you start to see price trending up
- 10:22right we again technically
- 10:25technically have a high point here right
- 10:28and then we technically have a low point
- 10:30here and we're trading in between that
- 10:32high and low. It's not anything super
- 10:34significant, but you can again look at
- 10:38that as a range. So you could look at
- 10:40something like this as a range where we
- 10:42have a big range. We we tend to see a
- 10:45big range in the morning. I would say
- 10:46about 80% of the time in the morning the
- 10:48market's going to range and then we tend
- 10:51to see, you know,
- 10:53a few other ranges throughout the day as
- 10:55well. Um, and in this situation, you
- 10:58know, we we see price struggling to get
- 11:00over, struggling to get over, it breaks
- 11:03over. That could be another opportunity
- 11:05of an entry as we can see where price
- 11:07really starts to push up. So again, if
- 11:10we're looking at this exact drawing
- 11:13where I was talking about price
- 11:15structure, higher highs, higher lows,
- 11:17and I remember telling you guys that,
- 11:19you know, it's not exactly going to look
- 11:23picture perfect. And you know, I was
- 11:25questioning you guys on, you know, you
- 11:27guys were probably saying, you know, it
- 11:29doesn't look that perfect, but when you
- 11:31really break it down, it looks awfully
- 11:34similar to actually, you know, what you
- 11:37see in a lot of trading books and things
- 11:40like that when it comes to price
- 11:41structure. Um, you just have to really
- 11:43know what you're looking for and how to
- 11:45actually look at the market.
- 11:47All too often, traders are really trying
- 11:50to over complicate uh price action and
- 11:52price direction. And really, you know, I
- 11:55I I went into some detail about how I
- 11:59build a range, how I view how the market
- 12:01works, um why I think it works that way.
- 12:05And um you know, in a situation like
- 12:07this, like where my entry would be, it
- 12:09would be on the candle that breaks
- 12:10above. Same situation here, candle that
- 12:12breaks above and we see price play out.
- 12:15So, um
- 12:18this this exact example could be applied
- 12:21additionally to uh inversely to a short
- 12:25short trade. Like literally, if you just
- 12:27mirrored this chart upside down, um it
- 12:30would have been two short opportunities
- 12:31where price, you know, moves down. So,
- 12:33it doesn't matter whether price is going
- 12:34up or down. I'm building those ranges.
- 12:37I'm not trying to predict where the
- 12:38market's going to go. I'm trying to
- 12:39react to where the market um is going at
- 12:42the time. So, if price breaks up, I'll
- 12:45trade upward. If price breaks down, I'll
- 12:46trade downward. So, I hope you guys
- 12:49found this video very, very useful. I'll
