4. 0:13spent 70 hours under the ocean I'm from
5. 0:16Delta State
6. 0:18Nigeria I'm from a robo by tribe and I
7. 0:21attended my primary school in Amish
8. 0:23children's school that's I used to call
9. 0:24it then then my secondary was amid day
10. 0:27secondary school as well in war Delta
11. 0:29State
12. 0:31and I'm from a family of 15 in numbers
13. 0:34so we have nine girls four boys in the
14. 0:39family I grew up in Delta State as well
15. 0:43with my
16. 0:44family I was very good to my mom because
17. 0:48I like food and I like cooking a lot so
18. 0:51I'm one of her best so that's when I
19. 0:54learned a lot from her and actually
20. 0:56after my secondary school my dad always
21. 1:00ask us to go

24. 1:07so to get a ski so from there I learned
25. 1:11more about catering so before I got into
26. 1:13University and when I was in university
27. 1:16after Runing up there's no job but I
28. 1:18have no option than working with the
29. 1:21skill I have in my hand so I decided to
30. 1:23join the kri F and I was in the katri FM
31. 1:26I worked for a while and I decided to
32. 1:28join the Marine
33. 1:30companies to work in the vessel as well
34. 1:32and in the year
35. 1:342010 I joined the Marine company so I
36. 1:37was working in the Marine company for
37. 1:40210 211 22 I was a cook and Bu The
38. 1:44Vessel as well then 213 I was still in
39. 1:48the vessel working when I had this
40. 1:50shipwreck
41. 1:51incident specifically what took me down
42. 1:54to the ocean to walk on board a vessel
43. 1:58as a cook
44. 2:01in the land when I was working as a cook
45. 2:03we always have a lot of people like we
46. 2:05work we cook for like 4 6,000 people at
47. 2:08the same time and a lot of strengths
48. 2:10involved but the pay was small so on the
49. 2:12ocean when walking in the vessel with
50. 2:14the crew you have on board there just 12
51. 2:16crew on bus looking for 12 people and
52. 2:18you get like than five of your pay so I
53. 2:21decided to go forther but before you

93. 3:52the good because if I choose the bad I
94. 3:55believe with the environment and where I
95. 3:57was staying where I grew up from I don't
96. 3:58supposed to be alive to today because
97. 4:00it's a very rough Zone and today I can
98. 4:03tell you that most of my friends that we
99. 4:04grew up together they're no longer alive
100. 4:06but I choose the right path because if I
101. 4:08don't chew the right part when I was
102. 4:09growing up I used to help my mom to sell

117. 4:42at the nin guide so they were thinking I
118. 4:45was the one that is the robber so they
119. 4:48were shooting at me but I was just
120. 4:49standing I was scared but I only see
121. 4:52fire coming from left and right but I
122. 4:54was just standing on my own not knowing
123. 4:55that they Hing at me thinking I'm the
124. 4:57robber but I was just standing and
125. 5:00nothing touched me and when the fire got
126. 5:02stopped I was moving back home and as I
127. 5:04was going home the nine gu started
128. 5:06running when I got to my street Junction
129. 5:08I have to diver to my street as I was

164. 6:24fine that he can't come that I should
165. 6:27work for him for more one week so I I
166. 6:29said okay no problem so I polished my
167. 6:31shoe got my bag ready and on May 26th
168. 6:362013 the morning we're in a morning
169. 6:39operation so we was not expecting
170. 6:42anything we all did our routine for the
171. 6:45day I went to sleep so 4:00 in the
172. 6:48morning what I normally do is that I

175. 6:58and start preparing

178. 7:05out plate and I went to the toilet I saw
179. 7:08four other guys rushing their seats
180. 7:10there I okay let me just go to the
181. 7:11toilet when I'm done then I
182. 7:14will ped so when I was in the toilet
183. 7:18then I saw a wave on the vessel so I
184. 7:22feel normal the B tumble is the ocean
185. 7:24that's how we normally Ru all the time
186. 7:27and suddenly I Heard a Voice say saying
187. 7:29which is the bosing saying the V is

213. 8:35die like this so I tried to open the
214. 8:37door and I came out from the toilet and
215. 8:41the only thing I can see is the
216. 8:42reflection of one's phone so I follow
217. 8:45the direction so I know where the other
218. 8:46guys is and when I got there they were
219. 8:48in the alleyway they were trying to open
220. 8:50the water tide door so I joined them at
221. 8:53the back to try to open the water tide

235. 9:25from different direction and I was still
236. 9:27there so I tried to open the water TI
237. 9:29door it was locked so I got to the vent
238. 9:32I have to break the iron in the vent
239. 9:34then I have to open the door myself and
240. 9:37the door got open and I was still there

243. 9:44to see how I could be able to go out
244. 9:46from the vessel so I was there when all

249. 10:00busers I have to put one in my mouth
250. 10:02then I have to swim down to the water

258. 10:19when I got there I decided to look for
259. 10:23coverers so I got the coverers and I
260. 10:25made the Rope out of them and I got the
261. 10:28water dispenser down there so I have to
262. 10:30put the Rope the cover on the water
263. 10:33dispenser so if I'm swimming there if I
264. 10:36if I got tired maybe I'm about to cat my
265. 10:38breath not to miss my way I have to come
266. 10:40through the covers back to that same
267. 10:42spot so I can cat my breath so that was
268. 10:45what I was doing for more than 10
269. 10:48times and until I got tired and the
270. 10:51place was so cold for me so I went back
271. 10:53to where I can sit and catch my bread
272. 10:57and there's no way I can sit because if
273. 10:59I'm standing the water is above me so I
274. 11:02have to use my hands to get the fibers

358. 14:17because On My Own Strength I can do
359. 14:19anything on my
360. 14:22own actually when I was there I at the
361. 14:27early beginning I was panicking I was
362. 14:29so afraid but it got to a stage I was no
363. 14:32longer afraid and I was I was hearing my
364. 14:34colleague shouting one after the other
365. 14:37to an extent I couldn't hear that voice
366. 14:38anymore I was thinking maybe they' all
367. 14:39Escape I'm the only person trapped in
368. 14:41there so but when I was trying to go

371. 14:48was seeing this obstruction I started

378. 15:06of them have died but I never knew it
379. 15:08was all of them that have died I'm the
380. 15:10only Survivor still there so but I was
381. 15:12still struggling to see I can go out so
382. 15:15after I've been there for a while keep

385. 15:20worship I had a sound
386. 15:24of someone jumped in the water so I was
387. 15:29expecting or thinking maybe it's
388. 15:32somebody but I stayed for a while I
389. 15:34couldn't see anyone then the next thing
390. 15:36I saw was a flashlight I saw that went
391. 15:40beside so I was I just went down
392. 15:43straight in the water start looking for
393. 15:45the flashlight so I couldn't see the
394. 15:46flashlight I came back again and sit
395. 15:48down in that same spot after some time I
396. 15:52saw the water
397. 15:54bubbling so I saw this bubble coming out
398. 15:56from the water at the water tile
399. 15:59so I was observing and as observing I
400. 16:02saw the the the bubbling also coming out
401. 16:04with a reflection of a light so I was
402. 16:06also observe it I want to see what is
403. 16:08that so it got to a stage I saw it was a

470. 18:43with us at every moment in time so he

473. 18:53he asked me to put it on I couldn't

475. 18:56water for 3 days and and my legs are

498. 19:50knew that was the only Survivor so until
499. 19:54I I got to the other TI to go out from
500. 19:56the vessel with the diver and when we
501. 19:59about to go out he said that's a green

504. 20:05I was out of strength I cannot even swim
505. 20:08I don't know I I did not even understand

570. 22:49don't have any issues so they did vit
571. 22:52sense I was perfectly they asked me if I

597. 23:46from there to the house and when I got
598. 23:48to the house I saw my wife and I started
599. 23:50crying and when she saw me she started
600. 23:52rolling on the ground giving praise to
601. 23:54God that she never got married and lose
602. 23:58her husband that she tell go that she's
603. 24:00alive and she has a husband beside her
604. 24:02that she's holding God a lot for keeping
605. 24:04me alive and keeping me safe strong and
606. 24:07healthy so we're very happy celebrating
607. 24:10that night for my mom everybody came and
608. 24:12we very very happy but from that day I
609. 24:15started having trauma because when
610. 24:16anytime I'm in the house when I'm in the
611. 24:18room at night I feel the whole house is
612. 24:20sinking so I would just grab my wife in
613. 24:22the shoulder try to run out of the house
614. 24:25several times I've been doing that for
615. 24:26like two weeks until I called the
616. 24:29company attention and they send a
617. 24:32medical expert across to me to check if
618. 24:34I'm okay if everything is okay with
619. 24:36me and she said I have to change
620. 24:39environment to see how I can regain
621. 24:42myself and they did actually and after
622. 24:46some time I was
623. 24:48fine and I came back home and they said
624. 24:51I have to get busy so I can get my mind
625. 24:55off everything that happened so I have
626. 24:57to resume work
627. 24:58so they decided I
628. 25:01should come back to the office and walk
629. 25:03in the office in land
630. 25:05so I went back to the office I saided
631. 25:08walking I accepted it
632. 25:11and when I supposed to resume that was
633. 25:14first fourth week of January
634. 25:182014 I moved to pacot after the incident
635. 25:22I went back to water because I was in
636. 25:24Gambia and all the hotels in Gambia is
637. 25:26buil on the beach side side so from your
638. 25:29room you are seeing the beach you can
639. 25:30even walk down to the beach so I went
640. 25:33back to the I walked to the beach I
641. 25:34started swimming I got in the beach just
642. 25:36got in the water swim down far came back
643. 25:40so even my wife was there she was so
644. 25:42scared she was like ah are you not
645. 25:44afraid I said no this is the water I
646. 25:45know it's the water very well I don't
647. 25:47struggle with water so I understand the
648. 25:49water very well so I did that I swim
649. 25:51swim swim swim swim swim swi came back
650. 25:53again there's a pool in the hotel I swim
651. 25:55again in the pool so I did this thing
652. 25:56for two weeks so I bu my courage on
653. 25:59myself I'm not scared of the water but
654. 26:02you know being an
655. 26:04accident there an incident you being in
656. 26:07a
657. 26:08particular vessel or in a particular
658. 26:11something that you you just have an
659. 26:12accident and the thing sank and nowhere
660. 26:14to go out from that place is my fear if
661. 26:17not if it's an ocean I will tell you I
662. 26:21can stay in the water top of the water
663. 26:22like this for 3 4 days I will never sink
664. 26:25I will never move my hands I will never
665. 26:27move my leg because because is something
666. 26:29I've been doing for a very long time and
667. 26:31I practice it so I like swimming so when
668. 26:35I got to that Gambia I have to swim
669. 26:37again and see the force in the water I
670. 26:39did it and when I came back to town to
671. 26:42me I just decided inside of me that I
672. 26:44have to go for this diving but I just
673. 26:46need to gather up myself and go for it
674. 26:50so my family actually refused my other
675. 26:53brother went online and saw the training
676. 26:54he said this one want to die now I
677. 26:56cannot go for this training but I never
678. 27:00said it to him because that's his own
679. 27:01opinion because when something happened
680. 27:03they tell you don't go back to the SE
681. 27:05again don't go back to C again we take
682. 27:06care of your be we do this we'll do that
683. 27:07for you but when you try that you going
684. 27:10experience something in life so I I I I
685. 27:13never wanted to listen to them so on my
686. 27:14own I took everything silently and I
687. 27:17left the country and I went for the
688. 27:19course it was June 2015 that I took that

691. 27:25happened to be the the senior instructor
692. 27:27he was scared to train me because
693. 27:30himself that is not that did not even go
694. 27:32through the accident was having a phobia
695. 27:35he was even scared of me so he
696. 27:37instructed a young instructor and he's a
697. 27:40girl to train me and name is Lara so she
698. 27:44she was with me and they put me in the
699. 27:46tank to see how courageous I'm going to
700. 27:49be and I was there I did well and after
701. 27:522 days it took me back to the ocean
702. 27:54again to go and swim and I was in the
703. 27:57ocean at the same time I was swimming
704. 28:00and he now bu confidence in me that I
705. 28:02can do the training and I saided doing

707. 28:07was around watching me making videos and

718. 28:33was doing the training and the guy was
719. 28:35like this guy determined to do it in
720. 28:37life
721. 28:38so after that I came back and after
722. 28:42after I came back 3 days in Tava I got a
723. 28:44job in the upshore to go back to the
724. 28:46ocean again so when I got to the
725. 28:49ocean started diving going down the
726. 28:52seabed to do the job installation and
727. 28:55everything I was feeling more
728. 28:56comfortable because being in the ocean
729. 28:58alone the wind the silent of the
730. 29:01environment keeps me happy so I just
731. 29:06like it I enjoy it I have I have
732. 29:10serious feeling inside of me that every
733. 29:13week if I'm not in the sea I should be
734. 29:15in the pool so I started doing the job
735. 29:17and I'm enjoying the job right now
736. 29:20um to me I think it was a day I was
737. 29:23asked to dive 2:00 in the midnight and
738. 29:26there was Shack
739. 29:28roaming around the vessel which I'm
740. 29:30seeing Life direct and they said you are
741. 29:33diving now and if I said I'm not diving
742. 29:35I have to be booked immediately away
743. 29:36from that place so I told them no
744. 29:38problem get in my gar I have to kill the
745. 29:40fear inside of me but there's something
746. 29:42I like doing in my life because I have
747. 29:44seen and I've understand that fear
748. 29:46stopped a lot of people to get into a
749. 29:48particular level of Life they want to
750. 29:50get to and to even acquire so many
751. 29:52things in their life but when they just
752. 29:54grab that fear inside of them everything
753. 29:56dies so when I was going down
754. 29:58the shark came and hit the basket boop
755. 30:00boop but I was still going under front
756. 30:02he can
757. 30:04actually he can actually approach me but
758. 30:08it hit the side and and I was still
759. 30:09going down because it was the 3 m depth
760. 30:11of that same place because I happened to
761. 30:13be diving in that same place that my
762. 30:15vessel went down that I have the Sheep
763. 30:17wreck and that was the same place I was
764. 30:18diving so I had that attack that day but
765. 30:22I still went down I got the job done and
766. 30:24I came back successfully so because in

770. 30:32eyeball don't lose the shark so I was so
771. 30:35courage I went there I did the job so to
772. 30:38me I believe I like the ocean is my
773. 30:41world I just like diving I like water I
774. 30:43like swimming so I'm enjoying the
