- 0:00myself out of 15,000 pounds worth of
- 0:01debt, and got up to 7,000 pounds worth
- 0:03of savings in my Vanguard alone. Hi
- 0:06guys. Welcome back to another video.
- 0:09Like I said, we're going to be in the
- 0:10car in these a few of these videos. We
- 0:13have a big fancy car. Why the [ __ ] not?
- 0:16And I look good. So,
- 0:18anyway,
- 0:19if I'm going to film just in the hotel
- 0:20room, I've got to put up a light in when
- 0:22we can just have a little girly catch
- 0:24up, little chit chat now. And I asked
- 0:26you guys on Instagram for some
- 0:27questions. So, we're going to talk a bit
- 0:29more about We're going to be talking all
- 0:31things living abroad, how I've decided
- 0:33to pick up my life and move, how am I
- 0:35financially? It's a lot of the
- 0:36questions. I thought I'd do a little
- 0:39little car chit chat. About 30 minutes
- 0:41to the hotel, and about 10 minutes
- 0:42before this camera overheats. So, we're
- 0:44just going to get straight into it. Hi.
- 0:45If you're new here, my name is Tanya.
- 0:47I'm 28 years old. I up and left the UK
- 0:49properly about 2 months ago, and I don't
- 0:52regret it. I have spent time abroad
- 0:55before, so this is not the first time.
- 0:57And you know what? Since I came back the
- 0:59first time, I was like, "God, get me out
- 1:02of here." So, we're going to talk
- 1:03everything about that. So, let's Okay,
- 1:05let's go before this car comes. So, the
- 1:08biggest question I get is financial
- 1:09transparency. How am I affording
- 1:12everything? You know, because the
- 1:13biggest thing is, "Oh my gosh, you need
- 1:15so much money to live abroad, or to move
- 1:19abroad, or anything like that." Now,
- 1:21personally, I did not move with
- 1:23thousands and thousands of pounds. Like,
- 1:25that is not No. No. A couple of
- 1:28thousand, absolutely. So, I Okay, I knew
- 1:30I wanted about 4,000 pounds for
- 1:32Australia, and I wanted about 1 and 1/2,
- 1:352,000 pounds for Jamaica. So, that was a
- 1:38total I I basically ballparked 6 to
- 1:417,000 pounds. Now, that didn't just come
- 1:44by all my pay slips. That actually came
- 1:47in little drips and drabs. Because I
- 1:49work overtime as well, I get my pay in
- 1:53different segments. It's not just like
- 1:55one big chunk pay slip. So, I was very
- 1:57lucky to have been able to work the
- 1:59overtime to save up the money. But, that
- 2:01was the amount that I was thinking of.
- 2:04Oh, you're going in there? Okay. Now, I
- 2:07kind of felt like I wanted to save about
- 2:0910,000 lb. However, with the time frame
- 2:12I was working with, it just was not
- 2:15feasible. There was no way in hell I was
- 2:17going to save 10,000 lb. However, I do
- 2:20have my investment and stuff like that.
- 2:23So, I'll talk on that in a in a moment.
- 2:25But, in terms of like my day-to-day
- 2:27living, the 7,000 lb was where I was
- 2:30working with. Now, in whilst I was in
- 2:33Jamaica, I had been getting tax returns.
- 2:36So, every time I was paying so much in
- 2:39taxes,
- 2:41um so,
- 2:42I work in NHS. I work for the ambulance
- 2:44service. I'm still technically employed
- 2:46by them. That's a whole different story
- 2:47for a whole different day. Once it's all
- 2:49concluded, then we can actually have a
- 2:50little chit-chat deep dive of what the
- 2:52[ __ ] has been going on. However,
- 2:54nonetheless,
- 2:56I was getting those tax returns. So, cuz
- 2:59we get weekly pay as part of our
- 3:01overtime, you can choose between weekly
- 3:02and monthly pay. But, I was like, "You
- 3:05know what? I'm getting all this money
- 3:06back." There were I did go over. I'll be
- 3:08honest with you. I'll pay my credit card
- 3:10and I'm like, "You know what? Let's hope
- 3:11and pray we get some sort of tax
- 3:13return." Is it the most sensible thing
- 3:15to do? No. Did I do it? Yes.
- 3:18Cuz I will always figure it out. I don't
- 3:20know in which way is going to happen,
- 3:23but I will figure it out. I did get
- 3:25another question about my investment
- 3:28portfolio. Now, I have a money box which
- 3:31have my lifetime ISA. There's not really
- 3:32much in there. I think there's maybe
- 3:331,000 lb in there.
- 3:35Um
- 3:36keyword, maybe.
- 3:37I have not actually looked. I probably
- 3:39should look. There was an email that I
- 3:41have to verify my ID as by a certain
- 3:43date. I I ain't done that.
- 3:45And I'm sure that day has passed. So,
- 3:47I've got my money box. I've got uh my
- 3:49Trading 212 which is where I keep my
- 3:51money for Australia at the moment. Um
- 3:53I've spent all the money for Jamaica.
- 3:55That money is gone. That was in my
- 3:57Monzo. It just made more sense, as much
- 3:59as I wanted to invest it at the time or
- 4:01keep it in the savings. Like it would
- 4:03just inconvenient for me. So
- 4:06I just kept it in my Monzo and just
- 4:08withdrew from each pot each week cuz I
- 4:10budgeted my money for Jamaica.
- 4:12Which I don't know if you watched my
- 4:14first video about my budgeting and how I
- 4:17did everything for Jamaica separately.
- 4:20But that's what
- 4:21I did. I'll link that video down below.
- 4:23But that's where my And then I also have
- 4:25Vanguard. I have withdrawn from my I had
- 4:28about 7,000 pounds in there. I'll be
- 4:30honest with you. I have withdrawn quite
- 4:32a bit of money. I probably only have
- 4:33about 3 grand in there now. I have Over
- 4:36the past year especially, I have had
- 4:39I'll be honest with you. I had bad
- 4:40savings. Like my savings were terrible
- 4:42in the past year. Considering I got
- 4:44myself out of 15,000 pounds worth of
- 4:46debt and got up to 7,000 pounds worth of
- 4:48savings in my Vanguard alone. However,
- 4:54I didn't put much in there to grow it to
- 4:557,000 pounds. So
- 4:57I know that that money will eventually
- 4:59come back just by interest alone cuz I
- 5:01did take out a lot of the interest that
- 5:04I gained on that money. I have most of
- 5:07it in the S&P 500, a couple of ran a
- 5:10couple of odd more random stocks, but
- 5:12the majority of money I've left in my
- 5:13S&P 500 which has grown the most in the
- 5:17past couple of years. I also got a free
- 5:19stock with Trading 212. And that gave me
- 5:22It gave me a 20 pound stock in
- 5:24Rolls-Royce. I didn't even think about
- 5:26it for years. And then one day I went
- 5:29back into it and it's now worth over 150
- 5:32pounds, which is a crazy return it
- 5:34considering that's a free 150 pound
- 5:37right there. Obviously, if you do want a
- 5:39free stock, I will leave a link for
- 5:42Trading 212 down below. If you don't
- 5:44have a Trading 212 account, I highly
- 5:46recommend
- 5:47um I highly recommend you just get a
- 5:49random stock and usually it's one of the
- 5:52top 50 companies. Rolls-Royce, by the
- 5:54way, is who who builds the planes. All
- 5:58the mechanical stuff of planes is
- 5:59Rolls-Royce. It's not just their cars
- 6:02are like the least of their worries.
- 6:04Like the cars for Rolls-Royce are like
- 6:07nothing. Like just a bit of extra
- 6:09shindig, you know? Look into it. It's
- 6:11actually really interesting. So, that's
- 6:14my investment through it and then I have
- 6:16a bit of Bitcoin in one of them other
- 6:18trading sites. I think it's eToro or one
- 6:20of the I don't actually know.
- 6:21I am not type A when it comes to my my
- 6:25investments. I kind of just effects
- 6:28spaghetti throughout the wall see what
- 6:29sticks. Um
- 6:31I have lost money. I have gained money.
- 6:32I'll be quite honest with you, but
- 6:34that's part of the game. So, I'm trying
- 6:36to just leave it sometimes and just let
- 6:37it just let it grow. Had a question
- 6:39about what I look for in a partner. I'm
- 6:41going to tie this to finances.
- 6:44I as much as I would love for a man to
- 6:46take the role and you know what? If he
- 6:49does take over, he takes over. However,
- 6:51my most important trait is take the
- 6:54pressure off. Now, for me, maybe this is
- 6:56a Capricorn in me, I don't know.
- 6:59Probably. However, I do not need someone
- 7:03to make money. Now, I say this I say
- 7:07this with a grain of salt, right?
- 7:10I do not need a man to make money.
- 7:13I do need a man to take my the pressure
- 7:16off of me.
- 7:17I do not want to think. And the thing is
- 7:19my my guy this might come to bite me in
- 7:22the ass one day, it might not, who
- 7:23knows. But if you watch my last video,
- 7:25then you know
- 7:26I don't ever regret falling in love
- 7:28because you enjoy the moment. However,
- 7:31at the moment my guy takes care of
- 7:33everything. When I'm with him, I don't
- 7:34think. Like
- 7:36I always say I say to him and he's
- 7:38clocked on now, but I'm like I don't
- 7:40want to think. Choose where we eat,
- 7:42choose what we do, um figure it out for
- 7:45me. Just take me along. And if he's able
- 7:49to do it in person, he does. And that's
- 7:52exactly what I look for.
- 7:54And the entire time that we've been
- 7:55dating, he's he's honestly done every
- 7:58single thing I've needed for him to do
- 8:01without me asking. So, without me even
- 8:04having to ask, he's just done. And
- 8:05that's exactly exactly what I need. And
- 8:09what I look for. Obviously, yes,
- 8:11good-looking and a good profession,
- 8:13educated. Like, I need a man to be
- 8:15educated. Jesus Christ, have an
- 8:17education. Like, all of these things
- 8:19were lacking in my last relationship.
- 8:21Like, he
- 8:23Every time I'm like, "What do we eat?"
- 8:24Like, he's like, "You choose." Don't
- 8:26ever make me choose what to eat, by the
- 8:28way.
- 8:29My guy just chooses now. He just does
- 8:31it.
- 8:32And I'm like, "Oh, thank god."
- 8:34Thank the lord. Am I going on to the
- 8:36right place? You know, the traffic
- 8:37lights after. I think it's that way.
- 8:39Anyway, I don't think I don't know.
- 8:42>> [sighs and gasps]
- 8:42>> Anyway, so yeah.
- 8:44Someone who just takes the wheel and
- 8:45just does. And I'm like,
- 8:47>> [sighs and gasps]
- 8:48>> "Can you sort this out? Can you sort
- 8:49that out?" And it's sorted. "Can you
- 8:51take the bin out?" Or like, I don't even
- 8:52have to ask half the time to take the
- 8:53bin out. No, it's not that straight.
- 8:56They must be another one afterwards.
- 8:58I keep taking the wrong turnings. Very
- 9:00annoying. I'm very tired of driving now.
- 9:03I'm so tired. Anyway, I'm complaining.
- 9:05Shut up, Tanya.
- 9:06>> [snorts]
- 9:06>> Um so, that's kind of like my ideal
- 9:08thing. And like I said, my guy is in a
- 9:09good profession, he is educated, um
- 9:13he makes decent money. Like, and he's
- 9:15always on a business venture. So, I
- 9:17can't fault him. Like, I really can't.
- 9:20Like, there is situations
- 9:22that I'm I'm not 100% happy with. But,
- 9:26the [ __ ] are you Where are you going?
- 9:28And you can't win them all. But, I feel
- 9:30like I really hit the jackpot with this
- 9:31one. However, I
- 9:33Yeah.
- 9:34>> [snorts]
- 9:34>> Anyway, moving on. Don't ever let your
- 9:36financial situation dictate where you
- 9:40want to go in life. Like, don't just
- 9:42because you ain't got the funds or you
- 9:44don't know how to acquire more funds or
- 9:46you don't know how to make more money,
- 9:48don't let that deter you from wanting to
- 9:51do so and then finding a way. Like,
- 9:53there is where there is a will, there is
- 9:55a way and I'll stand by that. There is
- 9:58always a way to make more money, to like
- 10:01just
- 10:02achieve all the goals that you want to
- 10:04achieve. Do you really think
- 10:06if I let me being in £15,000 worth of
- 10:09debt, me being seriously depressed,
- 10:13like,
- 10:13>> [sighs and gasps]
- 10:14>> you've got to have a bit of delusion in
- 10:16your life. Do you think I've done any of
- 10:18this without a little just some
- 10:19delusion?
- 10:21Even a little bit. I am delusional.
- 10:23There is no calculated plan, there is no
- 10:26perfect routine that has got to me to
- 10:28this point. It has been a pure delusion
- 10:31and me just keep going.
- 10:33When you think you're failing, keep
- 10:34going. When you think that no one's
- 10:37supporting you, keep going. Like, every
- 10:40negative turn point, just keep going.
- 10:43And if you feel like you can't keep
- 10:44going, have a cry, have a moment, take a
- 10:46break, take a breather, then get
- 10:47straight back into the program.
- 10:49Like, you have the ability to do so. But
- 10:53unfortunately, especially if you're one
- 10:54of my UK viewers, then you know, like I
- 10:58feel so small and so not worthy in the
- 11:02UK. Like, every time I'm there, I'm
- 11:04like, I can't do but I'm not going to be
- 11:06able to succeed, right? Because the UK
- 11:09always diminishes the ability of us and
- 11:13I I can't stand it. However, you can and
- 11:16you will and especially being Every time
- 11:18I've gone to New York, now that I'm in
- 11:19LA, I really feel like I can do
- 11:21anything, anything I set my mind to.
- 11:24Like, the world is infinite, the world
- 11:26is endless, the world is incredible,
- 11:29right? There's so much you can do. If
- 11:31you want to get up and move to Jamaica,
- 11:32start your process. I will do a whole
- 11:35video on everything you need to do if
- 11:37you want to move to Jamaica. It's been a
- 11:39process for me for getting there. That's
- 11:41why I haven't just up to move cuz things
- 11:43take time. Things are long. It is a
- 11:45difficult process.
- 11:47It is a long process as well. So, I do
- 11:49want to do a whole video on that. And if
- 11:51you're young, if you're younger than 25,
- 11:55take
- 11:56big risk. If you think that the risk is
- 11:59uh
- 12:00take a bigger risk. Keep taking bigger
- 12:02and bigger and bigger risks because at
- 12:04the end of the day, you only get one
- 12:06life.
- 12:07And what? Say it all goes to [ __ ]
- 12:09What's going to happen?
- 12:10>> [clears throat]
- 12:11>> You die. And And the next generation
- 12:14will figure it out. Like life that like
- 12:17your life may end, but the ability to
- 12:19succeed doesn't. Like
- 12:22everyone has the ability to succeed.
- 12:24But everyone has so much fear in them. I
- 12:26have so much fear in me.
- 12:28And I've been listening to Emma Greed a
- 12:29lot. And it's crazy cuz Emma Greed and I
- 12:32grew up in the same borough.
- 12:34Like down the road from each other. It's
- 12:36crazy. Obviously not at the same time
- 12:38because there's like a 20-year age gap
- 12:40between us. But, you know, especially
- 12:42with her podcast and all Why is sir Why
- 12:45are you so close to me? If you haven't
- 12:47watched her podcast, for the love of
- 12:48God, go and watch it. Sir,
- 12:51I'm going to need you to drive faster.
- 12:53Like go and binge-watch a bunch of
- 12:54episodes. Go just just
- 12:57do it. For the love of all that is good.
- 12:59Like honestly, and hearing her like come
- 13:02up from where the area that I grew up in
- 13:05is chef's [ __ ] kiss. And I honestly,
- 13:08it has inspired me so much. Not being at
- 13:10my job, not being in the NHS, being
- 13:13surrounded by
- 13:14[ __ ] bullies and all of that.
- 13:17Like the NHS is full of [ __ ] bullies.
- 13:20And it's going to keep you confined in
- 13:22it if you allow it to. So, whatever your
- 13:26job is, whatever you're thinking of
- 13:27doing, take the risk, [ __ ] do it.
- 13:29Just go, educate yourself, keep [ __ ]
- 13:32going. If you feel like you can't, take
- 13:34a minute, take a breather, take care of
- 13:36you, fill your cup, and then keep going.
- 13:40If you want me to film more videos like
- 13:41this, drop a comment down below. Don't
- 13:42forget to like, comment, subscribe,
- 13:44share it among all the platforms cuz
- 13:46your girl is trying to grow on Tik Tok.
- 13:48Tik Tok, your girl is trying to grow on
- 13:49YouTube. So, I'm going to end this video
- 13:51here. I'm heading back to my hotel. The
- 13:53vlog will be up on Sunday. And I believe
- 13:56after this video we might we might have
- 13:57an Australia vlog. We might. Who knows?
- 14:01Who Anyway, guys, I will see you guys on
- 14:03in Sunday's vlog and potentially in
- 14:05Australia.
- 14:06Bye, guys.
