- 0:00How purring like a cat made my voice
- 0:03incredibly more feminine. Hello, my name
- 0:06is Chunky Lotus. I'm a content creator
- 0:08for 4 years now. I'm a transgender woman
- 0:11and I am going to tell you exactly what
- 0:13I did to make my voice go from this
- 0:17>> What is the first thing that comes to
- 0:20mind?
- 0:21>> to what you're currently hearing right
- 0:22now. Important information and
- 0:25disclaimer. Each one of us is an
- 0:28individual and as such what may have
- 0:31worked for me maybe is not going to work
- 0:34for you. Remember, I am not a vocal
- 0:36coach and you should definitely not
- 0:39overdo either of these things because it
- 0:42may strain your voice permanently. As
- 0:45the title suggest, I have been purring
- 0:48like a cat usually and without thinking
- 0:51during my Twitch streams. And usually
- 0:53I'm just yapping, having a conversation
- 0:55about something in particular and then I
- 0:57go like
- 1:00you know? Sounds like that. It may sound
- 1:03incredibly silly to you at first, but
- 1:07there is a logic and there is a science
- 1:09behind it. So, in short, if you put a
- 1:11finger against your larynx or your
- 1:13Adam's apple, if you have one, and you
- 1:16perform this very same exercise going
- 1:18from a deep low rumble to a high pitch
- 1:21all the way to the bottom, you're going
- 1:23to notice how the Adam's apple or the
- 1:25larynx goes up or down like so.
- 1:36You got to play with it a little bit.
- 1:37How do I know that this particular
- 1:39exercise is what has been making my
- 1:41voice more feminine? Unless I'm
- 1:43mistaken, about a year ago I had one
- 1:47lesson with an actual vocal coach from
- 1:50the BR chat trans academy discord.
- 1:52[music]
- 1:53That's a thing by the way. And while I
- 1:55was having my lessons with her, she
- 1:57confirmed. In fact, she told me about
- 2:00the exercise. And I told her, I revealed
- 2:03that I have been doing that particular
- 2:05sound for years. Now, mind you, that is
- 2:08still a really basic thing to do. There
- 2:11is way more things you can do to
- 2:13practice and improve your voice if you
- 2:15want to make it more feminine. But this
- 2:17is just what I did, and that's what the
- 2:19video is about. I'm telling you exactly
- 2:21what I did. In my entire life, I have
- 2:23not gotten any voice uh surgery,
- 2:27nor I have had more than one lesson with
- 2:29a vocal coach.
- 2:31So, that's it. It's just patience and
- 2:33doing this over and over and over as a
- 2:35vocal warm-up. And just practicing
- 2:38playing with your deep tone and your
- 2:40high tone. Reminder to all the dolls
- 2:42watching that you also have to play with
- 2:44your deep voice vocal range. It's not
- 2:47just because you want to be a feminine
- 2:49that you have to bring it higher and
- 2:51higher. While having a deep voice may
- 2:54give you some dysphoria, or maybe you
- 2:56don't like it, you must practice this as
- 2:59part of your vocal training. So, for
- 3:01example, if you hear me right now, let
- 3:03me lower my voice slowly. Ah. Ah.
- 3:06Ah. Ah. Ah.
- 3:09Yeah. Yeah. And then, you know, I can
- 3:12just talk to you like this if I want to.
- 3:14Uh
- 3:14but now, why would I do that? Now, why
- 3:17would I even talk like that if I can
- 3:18just feel really comfortable like this?
- 3:21Well, last question I'm assuming people
- 3:23are having is
- 3:24does speaking like this actually strain
- 3:27my voice? No. I have gotten to a point
- 3:30in which it's just a natural thing. I
- 3:32can do it, and comfortably so, for hours
- 3:35and hours and hours. Let me know in the
- 3:38comments of this video if you also know
- 3:40other tips to practice your voice
- 3:42therapy or something like that. Thank
- 3:44you so much for watching. Bye.
