  1. 0:00I went from zero to 10,000 LinkedIn
  2. 0:02followers in just 3 months. No paid
  3. 0:05promotion, no going viral, no black hat
  4. 0:08tactics, just five things. Some you have
  5. 0:11to do consistently in that 3-month
  6. 0:13period, some you can install today
  7. 0:15[music] immediately and see your
  8. 0:16follower counts go up substantially.
  9. 0:19Anyone can replicate this system, and in
  10. 0:21fact, the first one I'm going to go
  11. 0:22through you can install in 2 minutes
  12. 0:24[music] and it will give you an instant
  13. 0:25boost to your follower count right now.
  14. 0:27But before I get into that, I want to
  15. 0:28quickly touch on why LinkedIn matters so
  16. 0:31much and why you should care about your
  17. 0:33follower account. It's not a vanity
  18. 0:34metric, it's something that is important
  19. 0:36to business growth and personal growth,
  20. 0:38and it will help you across the board in
  21. 0:40many other business functions unrelated
  22. 0:42to LinkedIn. [music]
  23. 0:43Now, think about every single
  24. 0:44interaction you have in your business.
  25. 0:46Assigning a new client, trying to hold
  26. 0:48onto a new client you already have,
  27. 0:50building a partnership, even internal
  28. 0:52things with colleagues, like trying to
  29. 0:54get a promotion and that kind of thing.
  30. 0:56In every single one of these situations,
  31. 0:59almost always the other person is going
  32. 1:01to look you up on LinkedIn. And when
  33. 1:03they do, one of these two things
  34. 1:05happens. Either your profile gives them
  35. 1:07a reason to trust you, or it doesn't. A
  36. 1:09large follower account on your LinkedIn
  37. 1:11is absolutely a trust signal. It tells
  38. 1:14people that you're somebody in the
  39. 1:16industry and that you're somebody that's
  40. 1:17worth listening to. And in a world where
  41. 1:20everyone is fighting for attention, that
  42. 1:22can make a massive difference to
  43. 1:23whatever you're trying to pursue,
  44. 1:25whether it's a promotion, a new client,
  45. 1:28keeping a prospect, or anything else. On
  46. 1:30top of that, having a big following on
  47. 1:32LinkedIn means it's easier to sell
  48. 1:34product or service or offer that you're
  49. 1:36trying to get out there for your
  50. 1:37business because you're putting it out
  51. 1:39to a wide group of people that are
  52. 1:40relevant to you and your business.
  53. 1:42You'll get higher engagements, more
  54. 1:44visibility on the algorithm, and a
  55. 1:46better reach when you need it. Of
  56. 1:47course, LinkedIn also gives you the
  57. 1:48ability to send between channels, so you
  58. 1:50can ping people to your YouTube,
  59. 1:52LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, websites.
  60. 1:55So, having a big following on LinkedIn
  61. 1:57can help other marketing channels as
  62. 1:59well. So, just to summarize, LinkedIn
  63. 2:02followers is absolutely not a vanity
  64. 2:04metric. It is a business asset. And
  65. 2:06here's the exact blueprint I'm going to
  66. 2:08go through in the rest of the video to
  67. 2:10how I grew mine to over 10,000 followers
  68. 2:12in just 3 months. Now, step one is
  69. 2:15probably going to be your favorite
  70. 2:16because it is a very quick win. So, by
  71. 2:18default, LinkedIn is set up so people
  72. 2:20connect with you. So, they send you a
  73. 2:22request, you accept that request, and
  74. 2:24then you two are connected. But, what
  75. 2:26that means is they're shown as
  76. 2:28connections on your page as opposed to
  77. 2:29followers. Connections implies you're
  78. 2:32mutually benefiting from that
  79. 2:33relationship. A follower account implies
  80. 2:35you are the member of authority. And
  81. 2:37let's be honest, it just looks a lot
  82. 2:38cooler. And here's the bit that most
  83. 2:40people don't know. LinkedIn lets you
  84. 2:41switch your accounts so that people
  85. 2:43don't connect with you, they follow you.
  86. 2:45And the best bit is when you make that
  87. 2:47switch, every single connection you have
  88. 2:50will now be labeled as a follower on
  89. 2:52your account. So, let's say right now
  90. 2:54you have 700 connections on your account
  91. 2:56already. Make this switch on LinkedIn,
  92. 2:59your profile will read that you have 700
  93. 3:01followers like that. Instant authority,
  94. 3:04instant boost to your profile. To do it,
  95. 3:06go to LinkedIn settings, then
  96. 3:08visibility, then followers, and you'll
  97. 3:10see you'll have the option to make a
  98. 3:12follow the primary action related to
  99. 3:14your page. Now, you can still accept
  100. 3:16connection requests. You can still
  101. 3:18monitor who does and doesn't connect
  102. 3:20with your profile. But, the best thing
  103. 3:22is every time they connect with you,
  104. 3:24even if you reject that connection
  105. 3:26request, they will still be marked as a
  106. 3:28follower on your account. So, loads of
  107. 3:30people connect with me nowadays, and if
  108. 3:32they're not a good fit, if they think
  109. 3:33they're trying to sell me something, I
  110. 3:34will reject that connection request, but
  111. 3:36guess what? You just followed me. This
  112. 3:38is the lowest effort, highest return
  113. 3:40thing you can do. So, I want you to do
  114. 3:42it today after watching this video. Just
  115. 3:44quickly, if you are enjoying this video,
  116. 3:46I'd really appreciate if you like and
  117. 3:47subscribe. I'm dropping loads more
  118. 3:49long-form content like this on how to
  119. 3:50grow across all social channels and a
  120. 3:52lot of videos on marketing and sales
  121. 3:54philosophy. So, subscribe. Nice to have
  122. 3:56you here. So, step two is about
  123. 3:58maximizing your connections and
  124. 4:00followers on a weekly basis. So, what
  125. 4:03we've done now is we've retrospectively
  126. 4:05marked all of your connections as
  127. 4:07followers on your page, but that's only
  128. 4:09looking back in the past. How can we
  129. 4:10capitalize on this optimally going
  130. 4:13forwards? I'll tell you how. Your
  131. 4:15account will have a limit on it in in
  132. 4:16terms of how many connections you can
  133. 4:19send on a daily basis and a weekly
  134. 4:21basis. We want to max that out so that
  135. 4:24you're getting as many connections as
  136. 4:26possible onto your page, which
  137. 4:27translates to as many followers as
  138. 4:29possible onto your page. Now, of course,
  139. 4:31you have the option to do this manually.
  140. 4:33You can go through the LinkedIn profile
  141. 4:34search and connect with as many people
  142. 4:36as you can on one time a week, two times
  143. 4:38a week, but obviously that is a very
  144. 4:40manual process and if you're anything
  145. 4:42like me, your working day is busy enough
  146. 4:44without having to do that completely
  147. 4:45manually. So, what I do instead is I use
  148. 4:47a tool called HeyReach. There are plenty
  149. 4:49out there. You can use the Growth
  150. 4:51Machine, Dripify, or many more. Now, on
  151. 4:53HeyReach, there's loads of different fun
  152. 4:55things you can do. Connecting with
  153. 4:56prospects, you can send them messages,
  154. 4:58send them voice notes, send them videos,
  155. 5:00like their content, engage in that kind
  156. 5:02of thing, and that's more of a cold
  157. 5:04prospecting tool, but for this use case,
  158. 5:06we're only going to focus on the
  159. 5:07connection request automation because
  160. 5:09that's the thing we're trying to
  161. 5:10automate to boost your followers. So,
  162. 5:12you just create a campaign on HeyReach
  163. 5:14that targets a list of leads you've
  164. 5:16collected already. Whilst those leads
  165. 5:18could theoretically be random people cuz
  166. 5:20they're just a number on your profile,
  167. 5:21it makes sense to make them relevant to
  168. 5:23your ICP and the people you're trying to
  169. 5:24sell to because then when you're
  170. 5:25producing content further down the line,
  171. 5:27you want it to be going to a relevant
  172. 5:29audience. And people that are interested
  173. 5:30in you and your business are a good fit.
  174. 5:32They're more likely to engage with that
  175. 5:34content and convert further down the
  176. 5:35line. So, find a good list of people
  177. 5:37that you'd like to target in your ICP
  178. 5:40and upload them to HeyReach and enroll
  179. 5:41them in a sequence that connects with
  180. 5:43them. Now, what HeyReach is very good at
  181. 5:45doing is knowing the limits attached to
  182. 5:47your accounts. So, it will max out as
  183. 5:48much as it can on a daily and weekly
  184. 5:50basis of connections. Now, what I like
  185. 5:53to do just to make sure we really have
  186. 5:54maxed out on a weekly basis is at the
  187. 5:57end of the week on a Saturday or Sunday,
  188. 5:59I then go and do some manual connections
  189. 6:00myself and see if there's any that
  190. 6:03HeyReach didn't manage to get to that
  191. 6:04week. HeyReach wants to be super safe to
  192. 6:06avoid anyone's LinkedIn account getting
  193. 6:08banned. So, it operates a little below
  194. 6:10that complete max limits. So, it's up to
  195. 6:12you if you want to have that final 10%
  196. 6:14coverage or not. In terms of results,
  197. 6:16I'm getting about 150 to 200 new
  198. 6:19connections each week that are being
  199. 6:21marked as followers on my page each
  200. 6:22week. And that number is based on the
  201. 6:24connection requests I'm sending out and
  202. 6:26how many of those are accepted. Now,
  203. 6:27quick note here, you might think it's a
  204. 6:29good idea to send a connection request
  205. 6:30note to increase your connection rate
  206. 6:33acceptance. Now, I've tried it. It is a
  207. 6:35good idea. It can work sometimes, but
  208. 6:37actually rates are higher when you don't
  209. 6:39include any note at all because it
  210. 6:41sparks their curiosity. Why is this
  211. 6:43person connecting with me? I'm going to
  212. 6:45accept it to find out and then they're
  213. 6:46added to your network. As opposed to
  214. 6:48something that sounds like a bit of a
  215. 6:49pitch over a connection request note and
  216. 6:51they're not interested. We've now got
  217. 6:53all of your past connections marked as
  218. 6:54followers on your account and we've
  219. 6:56created an automated evergreen system to
  220. 6:59get you about 200 new followers onto
  221. 7:01your account every week. What's next?
  222. 7:03Now, it's about capitalizing on that
  223. 7:05following and getting new followers from
  224. 7:08content. And the mistake I see a lot of
  225. 7:10people make on LinkedIn is trying to
  226. 7:12post every single day. I get it, you
  227. 7:14think more posts means more visibility.
  228. 7:16Sometimes it does, but on LinkedIn,
  229. 7:18that's actually quite rare. LinkedIn's
  230. 7:20algorithm doesn't really reward volume,
  231. 7:22it rewards quality. And what I found cuz
  232. 7:25I've tried posting every day at many
  233. 7:26different times, and when you're posting
  234. 7:28very frequently, it's just being showed
  235. 7:30to a smaller audience of people. Your
  236. 7:32network becomes a bit saturated,
  237. 7:34engagements drop, and you're better off
  238. 7:36just posting slightly less frequently
  239. 7:38with slightly better material. What I
  240. 7:40found works best is posting three times
  241. 7:42a week and making sure those three posts
  242. 7:44are very different. So, different
  243. 7:45formats, different material, and
  244. 7:47different energy. Post one is normally
  245. 7:49like a business or marketing related
  246. 7:51tutorial where it is slightly boring
  247. 7:54side of content, I guess, but it's a
  248. 7:56value you're giving them. They're
  249. 7:57learning something by engaging with your
  250. 7:59post. Post two is something a bit more
  251. 8:01fun. I normally distribute these on
  252. 8:02Fridays. Something like a day in the
  253. 8:04life or weekly roundup of that that kind
  254. 8:07of thing. That is a bit of a fun way to
  255. 8:09display the activity of the week. And
  256. 8:11then the third post I put out varies in
  257. 8:13its subject matter. Sometimes it's
  258. 8:15industry news, sometimes it's about
  259. 8:17something else we're launching at
  260. 8:18Leader, our company. Sometimes it's
  261. 8:20about an engagement I've had with a
  262. 8:21client or a prospect or a learning that
  263. 8:23I've had. The framework that you want to
  264. 8:24follow is Alex Hormozi's give give give
  265. 8:27take philosophy, which is that you
  266. 8:29should give four times more than you
  267. 8:31should take. You see this everywhere.
  268. 8:33For example, when you're scrolling
  269. 8:34through a social media feed, you'll
  270. 8:36generally see four posts then one ad,
  271. 8:38four posts then one ad. Generally, TV
  272. 8:40ads are on about a quarter of the time,
  273. 8:42four to one. And with your content, you
  274. 8:44want to follow that same blueprint. So,
  275. 8:45give value, give value, give value, and
  276. 8:48then put a CTA in the fourth post. You
  277. 8:50can't be putting a CTA in every single
  278. 8:51post and expecting people to engage with
  279. 8:54it. Now, step four is the final piece of
  280. 8:55the puzzle. So, you've built your
  281. 8:57following, you've got a good following
  282. 8:58already from your retrospective
  283. 9:00connections, you've got a process to
  284. 9:02engage people and get followers going
  285. 9:04forward, and you're putting content out
  286. 9:05there that's going to get engagement,
  287. 9:08get interest into your profile, and get
  288. 9:10clicks to then check you out onto your
  289. 9:12profile. So, you probably guessed it,
  290. 9:14the final step is optimizing your
  291. 9:15LinkedIn profile to impress. When they
  292. 9:18come to your LinkedIn profile, that's
  293. 9:20what's going to get them to then go and
  294. 9:21follow you. This is the step that most
  295. 9:23people skip because they either think
  296. 9:25they have a good LinkedIn profile when
  297. 9:26they don't, or they think it's not
  298. 9:27important at all. Yes, it absolutely is.
  299. 9:30You could have really good content going
  300. 9:32out. They might be intrigued, click on
  301. 9:34your profile, and be very disappointed.
  302. 9:36You're not going to follow someone whose
  303. 9:37LinkedIn profile picture is them in prom
  304. 9:40or them graduating from uni. So, here
  305. 9:42are the things that matter most. Number
  306. 9:44one, the profile photo. It needs to be
  307. 9:46professional, clearly lit, ideally taken
  308. 9:48by a professional photographer as
  309. 9:50opposed to in your own home. Shoulders
  310. 9:52up and smile, but of course keep it
  311. 9:54professional. It is LinkedIn after all.
  312. 9:56The second one is what goes behind the
  313. 9:58photo, the banner image. Definitely
  314. 9:59don't use one of the default LinkedIn
  315. 10:01banners that are part of their library
  316. 10:03cuz everyone uses them and it shows
  317. 10:05quite a boring, lazy approach to your
  318. 10:07profile. Also, don't use it as billboard
  319. 10:09space when you try and sell a product.
  320. 10:11Just try and sell them what you are
  321. 10:12posting about, what your company does in
  322. 10:15a nicely designed format. And the about
  323. 10:17section is where you can get a bit more
  324. 10:18technical about who you are as a
  325. 10:20company, who you help. Now, that's
  326. 10:22really important. The about section
  327. 10:24should be very tailored around who you
  328. 10:26help and how you help them because guess
  329. 10:28who's going to be reading that about
  330. 10:29section? It's going to be those people
  331. 10:31and what do they want to know? They want
  332. 10:33to know how you can help them. So, tell
  333. 10:35them how you can help them and at the
  334. 10:36bottom, absolutely feel free to include
  335. 10:38a CTA sending them to somewhere on your
  336. 10:40website, an ebook, or another lead
  337. 10:42magnet you've created that can engage
  338. 10:44them. What I want you to do is think of
  339. 10:46your LinkedIn profile as a landing page.
  340. 10:49People are going to come to it looking
  341. 10:50for something either out of curiosity or
  342. 10:53looking for a way that you can help them
  343. 10:55with their problem. Your job is to
  344. 10:57convert that attention into action
  345. 10:59whether it's a follow or click through
  346. 11:01to a CTA you've laid out on your page.
  347. 11:03So, that is the playbook. Of course,
  348. 11:05there are a few other things you could
  349. 11:06do to try and improve your LinkedIn
  350. 11:08followers. What I've tried to give you
  351. 11:09is a really basic blueprint that you can
  352. 11:11deploy today to get quick wins and set
  353. 11:14up a structure and system that's going
  354. 11:16to keep those followers coming through
  355. 11:17the door on a daily basis. So, just to
  356. 11:19summarize quickly, number one, switch
  357. 11:21your account to follow mode so that all
  358. 11:23your current connections can be marked
  359. 11:24as followers. Number two, use a tool
  360. 11:26like HeyReach to automate the
  361. 11:28connections with ICP prospects on a
  362. 11:30weekly basis. Make sure you're getting
  363. 11:32as close to maxing out your limits as
  364. 11:34you can. Number three, post content that
  365. 11:36is quality and going to engage your
  366. 11:39audience and get them to come to your
  367. 11:40profile. And the final one, when they're
  368. 11:42on their profile, optimize it like a
  369. 11:44landing page to get them to convert,
  370. 11:47take action, and give you a follow. Now,
  371. 11:49two quick things before you go. If you
  372. 11:51found this video useful, please do
  373. 11:52subscribe. It means a lot. It's a new
  374. 11:54channel. I'm trying to grow it. And I'll
  375. 11:55be posting lots more long-form videos
  376. 11:57that I'm sure will be valuable to you.
  377. 11:59And secondly, if you're looking to start
  378. 12:01producing on LinkedIn, on YouTube, or
