How I farmed MAX Stigmas on Templar | Templar PVP Guide — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00Hey YouTube, I've been getting a lot of
- 0:01questions about my PvP build. To be
- 0:03honest, I'm not that experienced with
- 0:04PvP, but I've been doing quite a bit of
- 0:061v1, abyss, small scale, and siege
- 0:09fights, even some arenas here and there.
- 0:11I will go over what I personally run for
- 0:12all of these, but keep in mind my build
- 0:14is mainly min-maxed for PvE content. So,
- 0:18a lot of the skills are not really
- 0:19optimized for PvP, but I'm assuming a
- 0:21lot of you guys have the same skills
- 0:23that are not optimized like me. So,
- 0:25without further ado, this guide will
- 0:26mainly go over skills and stigmas in
- 0:28each type of content. So, let's jump
- 0:31right into it. Let's talk about
- 0:32settings. So, unfortunately, there's no
- 0:34presets to change your settings between
- 0:35PvP and PvE. I like to run PvE settings,
- 0:39so I don't really change these very
- 0:40often, but for PvP, I would recommend
- 0:42running auto target upon skill use. Turn
- 0:44this off cuz because when someone's out
- 0:46of your range, you will end up targeting
- 0:48like a spirit or something, which you
- 0:50don't want to do. And then, you can
- 0:51choose to turn off first two target
- 0:53skill activation. I I leave it on. I
- 0:55don't think it matters for this one. For
- 0:56target scanning, you want to do front of
- 0:58camera, and you can do priority ranking,
- 1:00and I have it this way. Keep in mind for
- 1:02PvE, this is going to be detrimental for
- 1:04your Doom Shield macro if you are
- 1:06farming. So, I wouldn't really recommend
- 1:08running this unless you are purely
- 1:10PvPing. But, you want to put the spirits
- 1:13on the bottom, and then monsters next,
- 1:15and then the players on the top. So,
- 1:17this is like the setup that I have. For
- 1:18key settings, you can run a different
- 1:20key bind for defiance by using this one
- 1:22if you would like that because the whole
- 1:24space bar is kind of weird sometimes.
- 1:25And then, this one's very important. So,
- 1:27the target, there is a tab target, but
- 1:30it also targets spirits, which you don't
- 1:32want. And this will make it so you don't
- 1:33actually have to run priority ranking if
- 1:35you don't want to, but you can assign
- 1:37target hostile players. There's no
- 1:39default key bind for this. You have to
- 1:40set it yourself. I personally have caps,
- 1:42but you can use like any other key bind
- 1:44that you want. And you can just press
- 1:45this key bind, and then use your pull
- 1:47ability or whatever. This one's very
- 1:49good in large-scale PvP. I really
- 1:51recommend turning this on and having it
- 1:52for PvP. For large-scale PvP, I do
- 1:55recommend these settings. So, turn off
- 1:58player nameplates. This will make it a
- 1:59lot clutter and will make it so you can
- 2:02focus on the boss. Graphics, turning
- 2:04everything on low is very helpful for
- 2:06abyss specifically. It doesn't matter as
- 2:08much for other large scale stuff, but
- 2:09for abyss for some reason I find it
- 2:11helps a lot to have everything very low.
- 2:13This one's the most important one, mass
- 2:14combat quality, very low. Uh this
- 2:16basically makes your render distance a
- 2:18lot tighter, so it makes it harder to
- 2:20pull people, but I find it the lag is a
- 2:22lot better. Uh but if you do want to see
- 2:25more people so you can see the people
- 2:26that you're pulling, you can put this
- 2:27higher. And then this one is also very
- 2:29important, standardize player
- 2:30appearances. This basically turns
- 2:32everyone to a robot and this also helps
- 2:34with the lag. So for stats, the only
- 2:36stats that you really care about right
- 2:38now are status effect resist and status
- 2:41effect chance. These are key in PvP.
- 2:43Resist is the percent chance you resist
- 2:45their CC, so they press their CC skill
- 2:47and you just resist it and you can still
- 2:49hit them. And then chance is the
- 2:50increased chance of landing your CC on
- 2:52the enemy. So you see these two on like
- 2:54your PvP dev board, these are very
- 2:56important. You want to stack as much of
- 2:57this as possible. And honestly, most of
- 2:59the damage resist stats are important,
- 3:01but you can't really min-max these right
- 3:02now. I won't really be going over these
- 3:05until there are easier ways to get like
- 3:06PvP gear or soul binds. So we're just
- 3:08going to skip the rest of the stats, but
- 3:10these are the most important stats that
- 3:11you got to look out for. For wings, the
- 3:13best wings are the brawler wings, but
- 3:14these are 800k abyss points, so this
- 3:16isn't really optimal for most people.
- 3:18The next best is warrior, which is 200k
- 3:21abyss points. Again, also a lot of abyss
- 3:23points, so yeah, I I wouldn't really
- 3:25recommend these unless you're really
- 3:26heavy PvPer, then you can buy it.
- 3:28Telestra is next. This gives you CDR,
- 3:30which is very helpful in these fights
- 3:32where you can get more casts of like
- 3:34your pooch to pull more enemies. And
- 3:36then last, but not least, what most
- 3:38people probably have are dark veil or
- 3:40forest spirit wings. Dark veil actually
- 3:42gives you extra damage against players,
- 3:44but does not give you any defensive
- 3:46stats, while forest spirit wings will
- 3:47give you extra defense and damage
- 3:49tolerance, but does not provide any
- 3:51damage. So pick whichever one you
- 3:52prefer. For the Thestones, I recommend
- 3:54running the seal Theostones. These ones
- 3:56are extremely broken. So if you have one
- 4:00of one of or if you're able to purchase
- 4:01one from the black market, you should
- 4:03definitely purchase this if you do any
- 4:04form of PvP. These are extremely broken.
- 4:06If you proc this at all, you will win
- 4:09the fight. It's called Piercing Strategy
- 4:10or Pridegilmar's Silence. This one's
- 4:13green, this one's blue. It's the same
- 4:14effect, but the green is 3 seconds and
- 4:16the blue is 4 seconds. And basically,
- 4:18this makes it so they cannot cast any
- 4:20skills at all for the entire duration
- 4:23while this is up. And defiance, like
- 4:24your CC break and any status effect
- 4:26resist does not work on this. So, if you
- 4:28proc this in PvP and you're fighting a
- 4:30guy 1v1 and you proc this, you will
- 4:32probably automatically win because they
- 4:34can't do anything. Assuming you guys are
- 4:35equally matched. Keep in mind this
- 4:37Theystone costs 68 million kinah in the
- 4:38black market for the blue version. Green
- 4:40should be 1 to 2 million. This is
- 4:42extremely broken. If you do any form of
- 4:43PvP, I really recommend you get this.
- 4:45This is very good. And this is what the
- 4:47Theystone will look like when you put it
- 4:48on. It says, "Has a 3% chance to inflict
- 4:50seal for 4 seconds on attack." And the
- 4:53cool down is 5 seconds. And you're
- 4:55actually attacking a lot. There's a lot
- 4:57of hits going on. So, this is this
- 4:58actually procs a lot more often than you
- 5:00would think. This will help you a lot
- 5:01when you're farming or when you're
- 5:03fighting enemies in the abyss and will
- 5:05help you out a lot. Next, let's go over
- 5:07specialties. Keep in mind my build is
- 5:09mid-maxed for PvE. So, the level 16 20
- 5:11skills I have are not optimal. Most of
- 5:13yours won't be either as PvP is very
- 5:15niche, but let's just talk about what we
- 5:17will get. Also, absorb specialty is life
- 5:19steal. So, keep that in mind when we're
- 5:21going over these. So, for Vicious
- 5:22Strike, most people will have this at 16
- 5:24or 20 because it's a PvE skill, but
- 5:26you're going to run a two and four for
- 5:28the life steal and the Warding Strike
- 5:30cool down. Most of your cool down will
- 5:31come from the skills. This is very
- 5:33important specialty to have. And then,
- 5:34if you get it to 20, then it's a two,
- 5:36four, and five. Next, we have Pummel.
- 5:38You run this at 20 in PvE, so we're just
- 5:40going to assume you have you have like
- 5:4116 or 20 here. Pre-16, you're going to
- 5:43run two and three, the life steal and
- 5:46the extra damage. And then, 16, you're
- 5:48running two and five. This one will give
- 5:50you extra damage even against the
- 5:51multiple targets. And then, at level 20,
- 5:53you run two, three, and five. Next, we
- 5:55have Poach. This one's actually pretty
- 5:56important. You want to run two and four.
- 5:58Two is the the main one. This will
- 6:00reduce their status effect resist by
- 6:0220%, which is massive. Which means that
- 6:04when you use your CC, they have a 20%
- 6:06lower chance of resisting it. So,
- 6:08basically, you're going to poach a
- 6:09person in and then you're going to
- 6:10shield smite them, which is your other
- 6:12CC, and then most of the time it should
- 6:14go through because poach reduce their
- 6:16resist. This is extremely good, and the
- 6:18four resist for shield, you can use this
- 6:20like when you're fighting one v one,
- 6:22very helpful for taking some damage.
- 6:24Next, we have shield smite. So, shield
- 6:26smite, you're going to run one and four.
- 6:28One second extra stun duration,
- 6:30self-explanatory, and then minus two
- 6:31second cool down on also self-
- 6:32explanatory. Next, for judgment, before
- 6:3416, you run three and four, and then at
- 6:3716, you're going to run three and five,
- 6:38and then 20, you're going to run three,
- 6:40four, five. You can opt to take the
- 6:41absorb HP, but I find that you don't do
- 6:42enough damage to kill people without the
- 6:44damage specialty, so you should probably
- 6:46not take the absorb HP in my opinion,
- 6:48unless you're like extremely overgeared.
- 6:50So, in equal matchup, I think getting
- 6:51extra damage is more helpful in the long
- 6:53run. We're going to skip flash rampage.
- 6:55This skill is not very good, even in
- 6:56PvP. Debilitating Smash, this one's
- 6:59actually extremely good in PvP. Ideally,
- 7:01you get this skill at 20, but I'm going
- 7:03to assume you don't have 20 because it's
- 7:05not a PvE skill, really. Before 16,
- 7:07which is what most people will be
- 7:08running, is two and three. Extra debuff
- 7:10duration, and then minus 60% incoming
- 7:13heal. This one is extremely important
- 7:15when you're fighting against like
- 7:16healers or like, you know, people that
- 7:17lifesteal a lot, like the Vlad. This
- 7:19one's very good. At level 20, you want
- 7:21to run one, three, and five. And the
- 7:22reason you run this setup is because
- 7:24when you block, you have a 25% chance of
- 7:26resetting the cool down entirely, and
- 7:27then you also have a 30% chance of
- 7:29inflicting stun. And you don't really
- 7:31need the extra duration if this is
- 7:32probably a lot, which it should be
- 7:33because you're blocking quite a bit of
- 7:35attacks when you're fighting enemies. I
- 7:36think this setup would actually be
- 7:37pretty good. Again, I haven't tried
- 7:39this, so I'm not really sure this would
- 7:40work that well, but I believe this would
- 7:43probably be the best uh setup. You can
- 7:45also opt to take off the stun and then
- 7:47run extra duration, maybe. The reset
- 7:49cool down and then the incoming heal
- 7:50would help a lot because this skill is
- 7:52not 100% up time to reduce their defense
- 7:54and their healing. So, I do recommend
- 7:57taking the chance to reset cool down in
- 7:58PvP if you're able to get that. Next, we
- 8:00have warding strike. So, warding strike,
- 8:02you're going to take two and four at
- 8:04pre-16, and then at 16, you're going to
- 8:06take four and five. And four and five
- 8:07will just increase your PvP damage
- 8:09tolerance. And this one will actually
- 8:11increase your party PvP damage
- 8:13tolerance, as well. So, five is really
- 8:15good if you're playing in party content.
- 8:17You can opt to take the minus five
- 8:18second cool down. However, most of the
- 8:19cool down comes from visual strike, so
- 8:21it's not necessary, in my opinion.
- 8:22Shield rush, this is pretty standard.
- 8:24You're going to take two and four. Extra
- 8:25range and cool down is always nice. You
- 8:27can opt to take one over two in 1v1
- 8:29arena, cuz you don't really need the
- 8:30range in most scenarios. I usually just
- 8:32run two and four, cuz I don't really run
- 8:34out of stamina very often. Annihilate,
- 8:36you're going to run two and four. Extra
- 8:37knock down chance. You can proc like a
- 8:39CC, and this will help you win fights.
- 8:42And then, minus seven second cool down,
- 8:43this is self-explanatory, so you can use
- 8:44the skill more. Punishment, this skill
- 8:46is not very good in PvP. Find it takes
- 8:47too long to charge, and you get canceled
- 8:49a lot. You would probably put this lower
- 8:51level, ideally probably like level 12 or
- 8:5216, but most people are running this at
- 8:5416 or higher because of PvE content,
- 8:57like I said. So, before level 20, you're
- 8:59going to run three and four. Skill cool
- 9:01down and mobility. And then, at 20, you
- 9:03run three, four, five for the anti-CC
- 9:05rate and then ignoring block and
- 9:06evasion. You are single charge casting
- 9:08this in most scenarios just for the
- 9:10buff. You can full charge it if you have
- 9:12like the target stunned or whatever, but
- 9:13you're mainly just casting this for the
- 9:15buff. And then, we have defiance.
- 9:16Defiance is really good. Again, you
- 9:18don't really run points into this
- 9:19because of PvE content, but before 16,
- 9:22you're going to run three and four. And
- 9:23then, 16, you're going to run
- 9:25three and five for the damage tolerance.
- 9:28And then, 20, three, four, and five if
- 9:29you somehow get to 20. Next, let's talk
- 9:31about passives. So, passives, you want
- 9:33the HP and then max HP and incoming
- 9:35heal. This one will help you be more
- 9:37tanky. Warding shield, I feel like it's
- 9:38not very good cuz the cool down is three
- 9:40seconds, so it it it's not really going
- 9:42to heal that much. So, putting points in
- 9:43this is useless. Punching bag addition,
- 9:45this increases your crit rate, so it'll
- 9:46help you do more damage. So, I put
- 9:47points into this. Ironclad defense, this
- 9:49one's really good. Again, this will give
- 9:51you a lot of defense and endurance.
- 9:52Endurance is the the stat that gives a
- 9:54chance to reduce the damage that the
- 9:56target does by half. So, they send like
- 9:58a big hit, and then you have a 18%
- 10:00chance of cutting that damage in half.
- 10:02So, this stat's actually pretty good for
- 10:03PvP. This one, putting points into this
- 10:05also is not very beneficial. You get You
- 10:07get this effect just naturally not
- 10:08putting any points into it. Get a shield
- 10:11when your HP is below 50%. And the only
- 10:13thing putting points into this does is
- 10:15increase the HP shield, but it's a
- 10:171-minute proc rate, it's not very
- 10:18helpful in my opinion. Impact hit, this
- 10:20one's self-explanatory. This one will
- 10:21increase your damage by a lot. Double
- 10:24chance is really good. Insulting roar,
- 10:25this one's also good. When you land a
- 10:27frontal attack, you get 14% attack for 5
- 10:29seconds when you land a frontal attack.
- 10:30Fury, this one's also really good. When
- 10:32you block, which is going to happen like
- 10:3490% of the time when you're fighting
- 10:36people, this will give you extra PVP
- 10:38damage for your party and yourself. So,
- 10:39this is very helpful in a party setup.
- 10:41Survival will power, this is the biggest
- 10:43one, I would say. This one will increase
- 10:45your status effect resist by 37%. This
- 10:49will increase the more points you have
- 10:50into it. So, the more you can get into
- 10:51this, the better. Every class actually
- 10:53has this, so this is extremely
- 10:55important, again, like I said, and will
- 10:56help you stay alive when you get stunned
- 10:59or whatever. This will probably save
- 11:00your life when the CC has ended because
- 11:02of the damage reduction and the status
- 11:05effect resist. Block pain is also
- 11:06another good one. This one has a
- 11:0820-second cool down and with 10-second
- 11:09up time. So, when you get hit, you get
- 11:1211% damage tolerance
- 11:14in PVP when when you're hit. So, 50% up
- 11:16time is pretty good. Next, I will talk
- 11:18about stigmas in each scenario. So,
- 11:21Abyss, siege, small-scale fights, and
- 11:241v1. I'm mainly experienced in Abyss
- 11:26siege and small-scale fights. I don't
- 11:28really 1v1 too much, but I will also go
- 11:30over what I think is good in 1v1. So,
- 11:32let's start with Abyss siege, which is
- 11:33probably the content that most people
- 11:35will be partaking in. Must take, in my
- 11:38opinion, is grapple, shield of
- 11:40protection, and Nazekan shield. And
- 11:42then, the flex is doom shield and second
- 11:44skin. I personally been running doom
- 11:46shield, but second skin is probably
- 11:47decent as well for pushing and front
- 11:48lining. I haven't actually tried it, so
- 11:50I'm not sure how it performs, but I run
- 11:52doom shield cuz it's very uh flexible
- 11:54and increases your damage. Leveling
- 11:56priority, you're going to run shield
- 11:57protection 10,
- 11:58grapple 15, Nazekan shield 15, grapple
- 12:0120, Nazekan shield 20, doom shield 15,
- 12:05shield protection 20. And the reason you
- 12:07want shield protection 10 first is
- 12:08because it makes the skill mobile,
- 12:10and I'll show some clips later why this
- 12:12is helpful. Basically, just press this
- 12:13skill and hold W into the enemy and you
- 12:16soak all the damage while your teammates
- 12:19can push the enemy. And this is very
- 12:21helpful in siege. And then when this
- 12:23wears off, you can
- 12:25cast Nazgrel shield, which will give you
- 12:26a big HP shield. And I've been in fights
- 12:29where I just survived because I just
- 12:31walk forward and press these two skills
- 12:33for like 10 plus seconds in in the front
- 12:36line. So, you can do this to survive and
- 12:38you know, get contribution more bits
- 12:40tokens and all that.
- 12:56Do keep in mind that Nazgrel shield is
- 12:57also good. You can probably pop all
- 12:59three of these instead of Doom shield,
- 13:01which will also increase your PvP damage
- 13:02tolerance up to 20 seconds at level 20
- 13:04and increases your elemental tolerance
- 13:07as well against casters. So, this one is
- 13:09also a very good alternative to Doom
- 13:11shield if if you don't like Doom shield,
- 13:12but I run Doom shield for the
- 13:13flexibility. Small scale, so one to 10
- 13:16people, assuming you have people in your
- 13:18party, must take in my opinion is
- 13:20grapple, Doom shield and Nazgrel shield,
- 13:22and then flex is taunt and shield of
- 13:24protection. I've been streaming a lot
- 13:25with taunt, but it loses a lot of value
- 13:27when there's a lot more people. You
- 13:28should take shield of protection when
- 13:30there is a lot of people because you can
- 13:31soak a lot of damage with this skill.
- 13:33You can also use armor of balance paired
- 13:35with Nazgrel shield. This skill, which
- 13:37actually makes it so you're immune to
- 13:38CC. It's up to 100% at level 20, but you
- 13:41have to preemptively cast this and walk
- 13:43forward, uh which is kind of not what
- 13:45you really want to do in these small
- 13:46scale fights. Your goal as Templar is to
- 13:48basically just pull people with poach
- 13:50and grapple and pick people off, and
- 13:52then you can charge forward when their
- 13:53numbers are weaker. This is like kind of
- 13:55the gameplay with with Templar. You're
- 13:56mainly just pulling people. You're not
- 13:58really going in yet, and you can bait
- 13:59people with your shield of protection to
- 14:01avoid getting CC'd or pulled by the
- 14:03enemy Templar. So, this is why I prefer
- 14:06shield of protection over anything else
- 14:08in the fourth slot flex. Leveling
- 14:10priority, assuming all skills are
- 14:11baseline level five already, shield
- 14:12protection 10 first, again, which is you
- 14:15get to move while you're pressing the
- 14:16skills. Very helpful. Grapple 15s reduce
- 14:18cooldown, which helps hold more people.
- 14:21And then Nazekan's Shield 15, which will
- 14:23increase the shield duration and make it
- 14:26so your party members are also shielded
- 14:28and take less damage. Doom Shield 20, I
- 14:30actually prefer Doom Shield 20 for the
- 14:32extra knockdown chance. This will make
- 14:34it so when you press the skill, they're
- 14:35like pretty much guaranteed to get
- 14:37knocked down and CC'd, which will force
- 14:39them to use defiance or they'll just
- 14:41die. Beyond this, it doesn't really
- 14:42matter, but Grapple 20, I think is good.
- 14:44You can pull multiple people and get
- 14:45damage tolerance. And then Nazekan's
- 14:47Shield 20, if they break your shield,
- 14:49you get 20% of your HP back. And then
- 14:50Shield Protection 20 after that. Next
- 14:52for 1v1 arena, this is probably the
- 14:54lowest amount of hours I have in any
- 14:56type of PvP, but this also applies like
- 14:59whenever you're in the abyss and you're
- 15:001v1ing a person. The must take, in my
- 15:02opinion, is Grapple, Doom Shield, and
- 15:04Taunt. And I'll explain a bit more about
- 15:06Taunt in a second. And then the flex is
- 15:08Shield Protection and Nazekan's Shield.
- 15:10I personally like this setup cuz all the
- 15:11cooldowns are relatively short. You can
- 15:13get all these skills in every fight in
- 15:15an equal match up. So, when you're
- 15:17fighting in arena, you have like you
- 15:18have to win three times. These skills
- 15:20are usually up in that time frame in
- 15:22every fight. So, all three fights that
- 15:23you have to win. So, this is why I like
- 15:25the setup. As for the reason why you
- 15:26take Taunt, it's because the Taunt
- 15:28actually has a 50% chance to inflict
- 15:31Taunt if the target is a player, which
- 15:32makes it so they can't do anything. I'm
- 15:34not sure if defiance works on this. I
- 15:36don't think it does, but I could be
- 15:39wrong on that. The other reason is
- 15:40because you have the shrink ability
- 15:42which increases this attack by 200 and
- 15:45attack by 10%. This is increased to 20%
- 15:47attack when you take level 10. When you
- 15:49get this to level 20, this is the prio.
- 15:51You want level 20 first. You get plus
- 15:53two seconds Taunt duration and then plus
- 15:55five seconds shrink duration, which
- 15:56means they're taunted for longer, you
- 15:58get to hit them for longer, and then
- 16:00it's almost permanent uptime on the
- 16:01debuff as well when you're fighting
- 16:03them. Leveling priority, if you run
- 16:04Nazekan's Shield, is Taunt 20 Grapple 15
- 16:07for the cooldown, and then Nazekan's
- 16:09Shield 15 for the extra damage
- 16:11tolerance. And then Doom Shield 20 for
- 16:13the extra knockdown chance. And then
- 16:15Nazekan's Shield 20 Grapple 20. For
- 16:17Shield Protection, I recommend running
- 16:19Taunt 20 again and then Grapple 15 for
- 16:21the cool down and then Shield Protection
- 16:2310 for the mobility and then Doom Shield
- 16:2520 for the extra knockdown chance and
- 16:27then the rest. Let's talk about the
- 16:29macro. So, for the macro, it's going to
- 16:31be basically the same as the PvE. You're
- 16:33going to run Judgment, Shield Smite,
- 16:35Warding Strike, and Pummel. The reason
- 16:37you put Shield Smite first is cuz this
- 16:38is your stun. So, when you pull them,
- 16:40you're going to stun them immediately.
- 16:41And then on the second macro line, it's
- 16:43going to be Debilitating Smash and
- 16:44Annihilate. If you run Taunt, you can
- 16:46run Taunt below Debilitating Smash. So,
- 16:48the setup is Judgment first and then
- 16:50Debilitating Smash second. And then
- 16:52every other skill you're pressing
- 16:53manually. So, like your Punishment, Doom
- 16:55Shield, Shield Rush, these are all uh
- 16:57manually pressed.
- 17:12And that wraps up the PvP guide. I will
- 17:14be showing some clips of how PvP looks
- 17:16like on Templar in sieges and
- 17:18small-scale fights. So, stick around to
- 17:21watch those and make sure to drop by my
- 17:23stream if you have any questions about
- 17:24any content, PvE content, PvP content,
- 17:27you can drop by my stream and let me
- 17:29know. Thank you, guys. Peace.
