How I Edited Viral Reels & Shorts + My 7 Day Results Inside! (Video Editing Guide) — Transcript

1. 0:00so in the last seven days I've created
2. 0:01one short per day one on my personal
3. 0:03account and one on my theme page I spent
4. 0:06over 14 hours editing these shorts and
5. 0:08gained over 20 000 views on Tick Tock
6. 0:10Instagram and YouTube in that time I've
7. 0:13received messages from you guys asking
8. 0:15how I've been editing these shorts and
9. 0:16it's actually really simple so in this
10. 0:18video I'm going to break down a
11. 0:19step-by-step tutorial on how I do it
12. 0:21I'll also be sharing some huge mistakes
13. 0:23I made that have caused me to get a tick
14. 0:24tock strike and get zero views on one of
15. 0:27my YouTube shorts so this is the first
16. 0:29time that I've actually been consistent
17. 0:30posting short form content and honestly
18. 0:32I've learned so much so make sure to
19. 0:34stick around to the end so you can learn
20. 0:36from the stupid mistakes that I've made
21. 0:37so you don't have to experience the
22. 0:39feeling of spending hours editing a
23. 0:41masterpiece for it to only get zero
24. 0:43views and you to end up with a tick tock
25. 0:45strike so not only is this a fun skill
26. 0:47to learn but it's also monetizable
27. 0:48whether you want to create the content
28. 0:50for yourself or for other people if you
29. 0:52copy my optimized format you'll be able
30. 0:54to rapidly decrease your editing time so
31. 0:56the biggest question I get from everyone
32. 0:58is what software am I using and I'm
33. 1:00actually using capka I was using Final
34. 1:02Cut Pro but genuinely for editing shorts
35. 1:05especially apca is 10 times faster and
36. 1:07I'll show you why so as always there's
37. 1:09Google doc in the description and for
38. 1:11this video to make it easy to follow
39. 1:13along with I'm providing you all the
40. 1:15resources that I use to create there so
41. 1:17you can literally follow along step by
42. 1:19step so you can learn their skill too so
43. 1:20let's jump into the step-by-step
44. 1:22tutorial but before we do make sure to
45. 1:24like the video and subscribe to the
46. 1:25channel so if you're thinking why should

49. 1:30all the shorts I've posted and this has
50. 1:32generated me over a hundred pounds in
51. 1:34affiliate commissions so once you've
52. 1:36learned this skill at the end of the
53. 1:37video I'm going to show you three
54. 1:38affiliate programs that you can join and
55. 1:40start earning Revenue by posting this
56. 1:42style of content so what we're going to
57. 1:44need for this so one you're gonna need
58. 1:45to download capca so that would be
59. 1:47linked in the description I'll also put
60. 1:48a link in the Google Doc for you and
61. 1:50then we're going to need to get our
62. 1:51a-roll and our b-roll for our footage so
63. 1:54the a-roll for this video so you guys
64. 1:56can follow along with me I'm going to be
65. 1:58using a podcast clip and then for the B
66. 1:59row I give you three options in the
67. 2:01Google Docs so you can either Google
68. 2:03relevant pictures let me show you what I
69. 2:05mean by that so let me pull up the
70. 2:06timeline so I want to talk about Solomon
71. 2:08I could search on Google Solomon or I
72. 2:11can when I'm talking about riches I can
73. 2:12search like coins on Google and then I
74. 2:14can use this for my b-roll uh but what I
75. 2:17think has a really impactful effect on
76. 2:19YouTube from when I've been watching it
77. 2:21and consuming it myself is images that
78. 2:23are generated by AI so I've given you
79. 2:26two options mid Journey which is ten
80. 2:27dollars a month but if you want a free
81. 2:29version you can use leonardo.ai and I'll
82. 2:32show you how to use this you just Google
83. 2:34leonardo.ai you click on the top one
84. 2:37looks like this you just click start
85. 2:38using Leonardo and click yes I'm white
86. 2:40listed and it will open up the interface
87. 2:43and then all you have to do is like
88. 2:44mid-journey you go in find a style that
89. 2:47you like click generate with this model
90. 2:48and then all you have to do is just
91. 2:50search for what your script says so for
92. 2:53example the script that we're going to
93. 2:54be using today is Luke Belmar talking
94. 2:56about podcast about the story of Solomon
95. 2:58in the Bible and he made basically talks
96. 3:00about kingdoms talks about riches talks
97. 3:04about wisdom so obviously the visual
98. 3:06cues relate to the script so let's go
99. 3:08back to the Google Doc so you either
100. 3:10Google it or you use mid-journey to
101. 3:12generate these images or you can use
102. 3:14leonardo.ai and that gives you a certain
103. 3:16number of free credits so this is
104. 3:18accessible for everyone and then what
105. 3:20we're doing with this b-roll is that the
106. 3:22experts say The Tick Tock gears say that
107. 3:24you need to have something changing on
108. 3:26screen every four to six seconds so if
109. 3:28the average short is 30 seconds long
110. 3:30then we need to have five to six
111. 3:32different bits of b-roll that we can pop
112. 3:34on top of the screen as well as sound
113. 3:35effects and Music These are the key
114. 3:38fundamentals in having viral short form
115. 3:40content so for the follow along this
116. 3:42you've got one podcast kit but if you

128. 4:06now we've got the a-roll footage which
129. 4:07is our podcast and we've got the b-roll
130. 4:09footage so this is the type of content
131. 4:10we're going to create
132. 4:19imagine
133. 4:23[Music]
134. 4:25see so the visual cue is basically just
135. 4:27follow the storyline of the script step
136. 4:29one of the actual editing process size
137. 4:31and crop your video to fit 9x16 ratio
138. 4:33create a roll that's fast paced and
139. 4:36engaging so let's go over to Capcom what
140. 4:38we meant by this is you can literally
141. 4:39just click and drop this on here and
142. 4:41then open this to the correct 9x16 ratio
143. 4:46so this is obviously for short and then
144. 4:48if it's not the black background out
145. 4:49there you can just change it in cap cup
146. 4:51say obviously that would be landscape
147. 4:52and 9x16 is portray so now we've got the
148. 4:56right aspect ratio if you right click on
149. 4:58here you can remove fellow words and
150. 5:00then this will automatically come in and
151. 5:02basically break down the script and
152. 5:04you'll be able to delete scenes you can
153. 5:05literally just click delete and it will
154. 5:07automatically remove these sections we
155. 5:10want it to start from there's a story in
156. 5:11the Bible so we keep that there that's a
157. 5:13perfect clip there so then I'll just
158. 5:14delete the next few scenes and then just
159. 5:16click delete in the bottom okay so it
160. 5:18starts from there so just click delete
161. 5:19so look that pause is too long as well
162. 5:21so you can just so all you have to do is
163. 5:23just command blade or Ctrl blade and let
164. 5:26come back control blade delete this is
165. 5:28basically just cutting out filler words
166. 5:30any spaces any pauses because you're
167. 5:32trying to keep the attention of someone
168. 5:34in death scroll so you just want it to
169. 5:35be information information no pauses no
170. 5:38lulls no bits of Silence so now we've
171. 5:40got a roll down let's look on the Google
172. 5:41Doc at what the next step is so size and
173. 5:44crop now it's time to add the filter and
174. 5:46effects I recommend the clear filter for
175. 5:49personal content and the smart and
176. 5:50sharpen effect for podcast clips and
177. 5:52then I'll add the spark and the zoom
178. 5:54lens and some additional effects to the
179. 5:56b-roll covers later on in the video
180. 5:58let's go and add some effects we want to
181. 6:00go to smart sharpen so obviously our
182. 6:02favorite to do all these and I recommend
183. 6:04you guys do this but if you just go on
184. 6:05video effects you'll be able to scroll
185. 6:07through and find these so I recommend
186. 6:09smart sharpen you can literally click
187. 6:10and add and drag this over the entire
188. 6:12video you've probably seen this all over
189. 6:14Tick Tock this style of effect is
190. 6:15literally that easy to apply and then I
191. 6:18will also add a filter clear there you
192. 6:21go so we'll add that and then we're
193. 6:23going to reduce the blur on the sharp
194. 6:25oven and reduce the filters a little bit
195. 6:27and the range but so we want to
196. 6:29basically increase the picture quality
197. 6:32look at the dramatic difference of the
198. 6:34before and after so that just obviously
199. 6:36adds engagement to it so now we've got
200. 6:37the two base filters that add engagement
201. 6:39to the a-roll the other effects which
202. 6:41I'm talking about are the spark this
203. 6:43basically just adds texture which is
204. 6:45another visual element to keep viewers
205. 6:47engaged and then the final one we're
206. 6:49going to add is zoom there we go and
207. 6:51then what you want to do is come over to
208. 6:52the range and just make the range really
209. 6:54small and then let's watch that
210. 6:56and I basically would just zoom in and
211. 6:58out zoom in and out throughout the whole
212. 7:00video and if you times this with your
213. 7:01b-roll then it just adds to the
214. 7:03engagement factors that's it that's our
215. 7:05a-roll done let's go to the next step in
216. 7:07the Google Doc so we've added the
217. 7:09effects now we can start adding b-roll
218. 7:10the reason why I've moved over to capca
219. 7:12instead of using Final Cut Pro is
220. 7:14because of all these animations so let
221. 7:17me show you and this is generally like a
222. 7:19massive Time Saver so if you go onto
223. 7:21your media and let's just say section
224. 7:24there
225. 7:26so instantly you can literally just come
226. 7:28over here and all you have to do is just
227. 7:31add an effect from their pre-done Motion
228. 7:33Graphics there we go zoom out and then
229. 7:36if you drag and drop the whole clip to
230. 7:38the duration of it zoom out let's watch
231. 7:40this
232. 7:42so what I mentioned here is that you've
233. 7:44got full screen b-rolls where it
234. 7:46completely covers your entire phone
235. 7:48screen and this adds some sort of like
236. 7:49the Cinematic effect then you've got
237. 7:51pop-ups and let me show you the example
238. 7:53of a pop-up you can do a pop-up like
239. 7:55this so if you're going to have wealth
240. 7:56we could rotate this this means that you
241. 7:58can still keep the person on screen and
242. 8:01you could do like a combo and make sure
243. 8:02there's always full duration so that's
244. 8:04how you can do pop-ups on screen but for
245. 8:07these storytelling ones for my eight
246. 8:09shorts that I posted there's two
247. 8:10storytelling ones that I've posted have
248. 8:12performed better with these a-roll
249. 8:15cinematic scenes so let me add those and
250. 8:17what do I say in the Google Docs the
251. 8:19best one for these so many Zoom with the
252. 8:21in animation and then the pan writing
253. 8:24combo and then the zoom out with the in
254. 8:26animation so this one we've just done
255. 8:28the zoom out animation which is under
256. 8:30the in category and it's just here zoom
257. 8:32out and then make sure you drag it to
258. 8:33the full length of the clip
259. 8:35that adds a really nice cinematic look
260. 8:37and then the second one we've done a
261. 8:39combo so it's like a motion graphic and
262. 8:41it's the Fallen right and again make
263. 8:43sure that's full length for the clip
264. 8:46so now you've added two bits of b-roll
265. 8:48with two different animations I'll show
266. 8:50you the fast way that you can literally
267. 8:52just drag and drop and make this so much
268. 8:54quicker for you if you want another zoom
269. 8:56out one you can just copy and paste and
270. 8:58then where's the next bit
271. 9:00so kingdoms click that and then you can
272. 9:02literally just drag and drop the image
273. 9:04the b-roll that you want to and add it
274. 9:06straight into there
275. 9:08and it'll automatically do the animation
276. 9:10for you and then so here you can just
277. 9:12copy and paste this so this one I'm
278. 9:14going to because it's a multiple I'm
279. 9:16going to do the train because it's going
280. 9:17to swipe through so didn't didn't ask
281. 9:19for riches and then control c yeah
282. 9:22all you have to do is literally just
283. 9:23drag it on top of that and then click
284. 9:25replace clip and
285. 9:29now go through and repeat the process
286. 9:32for your remaining clips and let's watch
287. 9:34it back
288. 9:38[Music]
289. 9:41there we go so that's your a-roll done
290. 9:44and that's your b-roll and that's why
291. 9:46I've moved over to cap cut because that
292. 9:48animation section genuinely was so slow
293. 9:50you'd have to keyframe each bit having
294. 9:53your image zooming onto the screen and
295. 9:55yeah it's proper slow any video editors
296. 9:57you've tried doing that this literally
297. 9:59speeds up your editing process so much
298. 10:01faster so now you've done a-roll and
299. 10:02b-roll and you've added the filters
300. 10:04what's the next step so once you've
301. 10:06added the b-roll I suggest adding some
302. 10:08stickers I'll show you an example of
303. 10:10this because this storytelling doesn't
304. 10:12necessarily suit this let me show you my
305. 10:15other shorts so here when in the video
306. 10:16we say don't do that we do a sticker
307. 10:19pop-up
308. 10:20so and then we have literally a sticker
309. 10:22effect pop-up which just exaggerates the
310. 10:24emotion and shorts is basically just
311. 10:26using your eyes your ears and all your
312. 10:28senses to portray a storyline so visual
313. 10:31for you the music and also through the
314. 10:33actual script itself you literally just
315. 10:34go on to stickers and then they've got a
316. 10:37ton of pre-made ones they're all pngs
317. 10:39some of them animated so you can just
318. 10:40drag and drop them straight onto your
319. 10:41timeline for this story we're not going
320. 10:43to use any stickers but I just thought
321. 10:44I'd show you that so now we've got the
322. 10:46bass line we've got the visuals down
323. 10:47it's time to add one of the most crucial
324. 10:49parts of a good video and that is going
325. 10:52to be the sound effects so I've given
326. 10:53you guys a list of common sound effects
327. 10:55that I use and that you see creators
328. 10:57using I would recommend going into your
329. 10:59audio and just going through that list
330. 11:00of sound effects and adding them all to
331. 11:02your favorites hairs then you've got it
332. 11:04right there just to easily edit we're
333. 11:05going to add deep wash
334. 11:07basically into any zoom we're just gonna
335. 11:10reduce this back down
336. 11:12okay and then we're gonna add that here
337. 11:14now just add that sound effect to the
338. 11:16start of every single clap and
339. 11:22perfect so now you've got your sound
340. 11:24effects certain things you can add
341. 11:27like a visual thing but again for the
342. 11:29storytelling video we won't add these
343. 11:31there's got so many really good ones for
344. 11:33here back to the Google Doc what's next
345. 11:35so we've done the sound effects now we
346. 11:37need the Sound Engineering so what I
347. 11:39recommend is that you go through and
348. 11:41just scroll some YouTube shorts and find
349. 11:44what videos you actually are more drawn
350. 11:46to you'll find that it's an emotional
351. 11:47song or it's a funny song depending
352. 11:49whether you're watching like the comedy
353. 11:50Niche or motivation slash like
354. 11:52educational Niche so most of them are
355. 11:55viral like emotional songs like the
356. 11:58example I've got here so as you can hear
357. 12:00it's
358. 12:02[Music]
359. 12:05so that adds so much so I recommend that
360. 12:08you actually add your music in the post
361. 12:09edit within the applications themselves
362. 12:11stops you getting copywriting and also
363. 12:13adds you to the list of videos under
364. 12:15that song which gives you more exposure
365. 12:17for your reel Sound Engineering done
366. 12:18sound effects done what's next
367. 12:22so the video hook and The Branding so
368. 12:24what's the video hook it's the little
369. 12:26bit of the start that basically tells
370. 12:27the viewers what exactly the video is
371. 12:29going to be about let me show you how to
372. 12:31do this you literally just click Text
373. 12:32add text right at the start so basically
374. 12:35people want to instantly know what it's
375. 12:37about so you hook them in by saying um
376. 12:41and then make sure obviously it fits on
377. 12:43the screen and then what I do is I go
378. 12:45into here and you want bold font 2022
379. 12:47and then to get the font that most
380. 12:49people use there's a little few tweaks
381. 12:50you have to do a shadow
382. 12:53so Black Ops the Max uh distance quite
383. 12:57close and then the other hack that
384. 12:59people don't actually know so the Bold
385. 13:01font so you actually put it in italics
386. 13:03and then it looks even better biblical
387. 13:05wisdom and then what we're going to do
388. 13:06is we're going to have this transition
389. 13:07on so we can literally just do so let's
390. 13:10do the pop-up animation and then for out
391. 13:13we're going to use this I like the one
392. 13:15where it like breaks off it's
393. 13:17yeah so we're going to use the blow up
394. 13:19and then we're just going to drag this
395. 13:21to the start
396. 13:25and then just to add a little bit more
397. 13:27we're literally just gonna change the
398. 13:29font to make something stand out so
399. 13:31we're just gonna go like that highlight
400. 13:33it and let's just do
401. 13:36yellow
402. 13:40okay and then the final thing is we're
403. 13:42going to add a deep wash there we go
404. 13:45perfect so now we've got the hook it's
405. 13:46just time to do The Branding and then
406. 13:48we're on to the captions so for The
407. 13:50Branding I recommend just copying and
408. 13:52pasting that and then we're just going
409. 13:54to use your page so for my page I'm just
410. 13:56gonna write
411. 13:58and then down here you want to scroll
412. 14:00down to the bottom you want to reduce
413. 14:02opacity and then we're just going to
414. 14:04make it literally just white and then
415. 14:06let's drag it down here and then we're
416. 14:09going to reduce and then we're just
417. 14:10going to drag and drop it to like there
418. 14:12perfect
419. 14:14so we've got our hook and we've got our
420. 14:16branding let's have a look at the Google
421. 14:18Docs so finally we're going to use the
422. 14:19auto captions filter and we're going to
423. 14:21use the Bold font 2022 I'm going to put
424. 14:23it in italic so let me show you how to
425. 14:24do this this is probably one of the best
426. 14:26features and cap cut was one of the
427. 14:28first apps to do this so if you're in
428. 14:29the desktop the only downside is on a
429. 14:32desktop you can't do the single word
430. 14:33pop-up but it only does it by line so
431. 14:35let me show you how to do this it's
432. 14:37super easy so you just do text then you
433. 14:39go to auto captions create and then it's
434. 14:42going to automatically scan the video
435. 14:44for the script and then it's going to
436. 14:46turn that into text which is absolute
437. 14:48class because it's actually free so then
438. 14:50it's going to put it at the bottom of
439. 14:51the screen and all we want to do is
440. 14:52literally just do this right into the
441. 14:54middle and then all I'm going to do is
442. 14:56literally just do what we did for the
443. 14:57hook so I'm going to to the Bold font
444. 14:59I'm going to up the size and then we're
445. 15:02gonna do a shadow on pasty Max and then
446. 15:06we're just going to make it italics so
447. 15:08on mobile you can literally do animation
448. 15:11style and you go into Combos and you'll
449. 15:13be able to click on the single so single
450. 15:15words will be able to come up you can't
451. 15:16do this on computer however you can just
452. 15:18go in so here you can see the top line
453. 15:20there's story Inver and then you just
454. 15:22hit in front of the Bible and space
455. 15:24where Solomon and then just click is
456. 15:27dreaming and then let's see
457. 15:35and this way you can then just have a
458. 15:37single line which is obviously way more
459. 15:40engaging once you've done that you can
460. 15:42then come click your this click your
461. 15:45captions click on top right and then
462. 15:47animations I think it literally just
463. 15:48fade in looks good on the phone app
464. 15:51you've got a lot more options you can
465. 15:52literally just do spring and it'll do
466. 15:53individual words coming up so let's
467. 15:55watch this
468. 16:01so now the final little touches that I
469. 16:04think will add to this instead of doing
470. 16:06the spark over the gold and instead of
471. 16:09doing the clear so let's delete this
472. 16:12section here this is such a small little
473. 16:14touch but I think it adds massively so
474. 16:16let's look at the effects and then we're
475. 16:18actually going to add some gold Sparkles
476. 16:20and now let's watch that back
477. 16:24it's such a small little touch but when
478. 16:26you're watching this will add to it and
479. 16:28then maybe add the sun over the kingdoms
480. 16:30bit as well
481. 16:32and then what we're going to do is we're
482. 16:34going to add the sun over their spare
483. 16:40now look how sick that looks like
484. 16:43genuinely these little touches that you
485. 16:45can easily add on capca make all the
486. 16:46difference when it comes to the video so
487. 16:48let me tell you about the two mistakes
488. 16:49that I made so you don't end up getting
489. 16:51a tick tock strike and zero views in one
490. 16:53of your videos so mistake one was
491. 16:55mentioning Andrew Tate on Tick Tock for
492. 16:57some reason mentioning his name is just
493. 16:59a no-go I got a strike from this and I
494. 17:02literally all I popped up was a
495. 17:04screenshot of his Twitter ad revenue and
496. 17:05that was enough so don't mention Andrew
497. 17:07Tate on Tick Tock you'll get striked two
498. 17:09I got zero views on one of my videos and
499. 17:12I spent literally an hour editing it and
500. 17:14it was the most heartbreaking moment and
501. 17:16this was because I talked about sex and
502. 17:18adult content so that is something to
503. 17:20avoid that's why people on social media
504. 17:21you see them write sags so don't include
505. 17:23adult content or the word sex in your
506. 17:25short film content and then hopefully
507. 17:27you'll never experience the zero views
508. 17:29heartbreak so let's jump into the
509. 17:31analytics and see what we've learned
510. 17:32from the first week of posting shorts
511. 17:35every single day so first of all let me
512. 17:37look at our theme page so we gain 9 10.6
513. 17:40000 views and we have 305 likes and 17
514. 17:43subscribers so not crazy numbers but we
515. 17:46learn what editing style works best
516. 17:47which was the one in this video and so
517. 17:49this is only the beginning it's just
518. 17:51going to get better from here so that
519. 17:52was for a theme page and now let's jump
520. 17:55on to the analytics or my personal brand
521. 17:57so we got 10.6 K views we got 327 likes
522. 18:01and we've got 24 new subscribers so what
523. 18:03affiliate program did I use to generate
524. 18:05over a hundred pound Post in these
525. 18:07videos it was the sub magic which is the
526. 18:09new AI captions generator and it was so
527. 18:12easy to push this because I literally
528. 18:13just said want to know how I created
529. 18:15these captions in one click using Ai and
530. 18:17then the affiliate link to their website
531. 18:18I recommend either adding something like
532. 18:20that or the real world or betting
533. 18:23whether you go rub or stake they have
534. 18:25the best affiliate program so you can
535. 18:27start creating content using editing
536. 18:28skills you've learned generate millions
537. 18:30of views and then funnel those people
538. 18:32into an affiliate product and start
539. 18:34earning passive income that is a wrap on
