How I Beat Satisfactory in Under 6 Hours — Speedrun Analysis — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:04Hi everyone. My name is Kytrus. I am a
- 0:07Satisfactory speedrunner and I'm the
- 0:08world record owner for the any percent
- 0:10speedrun.
- 0:12The sub 6 hours run. Let's break down
- 0:15this speedrun together. In this video, I
- 0:17will analyze the the run and teach you
- 0:19everything about my tricks for the hub
- 0:22nudging, the decoupled camera glitch,
- 0:24the hyper [music] tube cannons, or the
- 0:25blueprint rewind.
- 0:26We will go through each package together
- 0:28and I will try my best to explain to you
- 0:30how I do it and why I do it. And
- 0:33finally, how we could beat the game
- 0:34under 6 hours.
- 0:37Let's begin with the first package here.
- 0:39Uh as a starting zone, we chose the
- 0:41northern forest because it's close to
- 0:43the future base and it's also have
- 0:45interesting crash sites earlier on.
- 0:47The first trick I use in my run is the
- 0:49hub nudging.
- 0:50And I will explain you how it's done.
- 0:53All right, so how do we nudge the hub?
- 0:55So, first we have these controls here.
- 0:57The key bindings I've been using are
- 0:59these one here. The most important one
- 1:01is the scroll down and scroll up of the
- 1:02mouse here for the nudge left [music]
- 1:04and right.
- 1:05Then, once you're done with this, look
- 1:07at it. If I hold A, it will just go onto
- 1:10the straight line forward here. If I
- 1:12hold scroll, it will go on the left.
- 1:15But, if I do both at the same time, so
- 1:17if I hold A
- 1:18and
- 1:19hold left here, scroll down, then it
- 1:21will be going forward really fast.
- 1:24And then we can also apply that to the
- 1:27other uh key. So, if I hold R while
- 1:30going scroll here, it will go up. Or
- 1:35down.
- 1:36Then, yeah, you can reach higher like
- 1:39elevation points by doing it. Now, we
- 1:42have to gather interesting materials
- 1:43such as iron rods, iron plates, screws,
- 1:46wire, reinforced iron plates, rotors,
- 1:48modular frames, and cables. So, we loot
- 1:51a lot of crash sites and we dismantle
- 1:53them for these resources.
- 1:55While looting the crash sites, I also
- 1:57look at solid slugs and purple slugs
- 1:59because it will be required for the
- 2:01future setup. The main idea behind this
- 2:02package one is to get all the milestones
- 2:04out the way, managing our inventory
- 2:06space, and also crafting 50 smart
- 2:08plating at the same time.
- 2:10As you may know, each milestone has a
- 2:12different respond time.
- 2:14And I looted the crash site to allow me
- 2:16gather every resources for each
- 2:17milestone while also preparing for the
- 2:19next one. The idea here on the first
- 2:21package is to optimize your time and
- 2:23always have the pod respond time active.
- 2:26Meaning you never want the hub to be
- 2:27idle not working on a milestone.
- 2:30The first unlock here is field research
- 2:32for the mom and we start by unlocking
- 2:34quartz and the six slots from inventory
- 2:36space.
- 2:37Then, we start our first drive at eight
- 2:40minutes into the run.
- 2:41Next milestone will be power assembly
- 2:43because we need to craft those 50 smart
- 2:45plating as soon as possible. And in this
- 2:48doggo cave, we are looting the
- 2:50>> [music]
- 2:50>> uh xenobasher and also the blade
- 2:52runners. In this doggo cave, I also use
- 2:55the camera decoupled trick to not die
- 2:57from gravity.
- 2:58Okay, so the next trick here is the
- 3:00decoupled camera. So, if you enter to
- 3:03camera mode here, you'll see that you
- 3:04have the enable decoupled camera here.
- 3:07So, it's error for me and you have the
- 3:09decoupled camera active here, okay?
- 3:12And
- 3:13if I disable it and if I quickly like do
- 3:16um
- 3:17camera decoupled camera and remove
- 3:20camera, then I can
- 3:22throw myself in the air here and I will
- 3:24not die because I will not do this. And
- 3:27this will cancel your
- 3:29um vertical velocity and will not make
- 3:31you die.
- 3:32We continue exploration by getting more
- 3:34slugs and more crash sites material.
- 3:37Hard drives play an important role in
- 3:38this speed run because we need those
- 3:40alternate recipes in order to have a
- 3:42good factory setup. Next milestone here
- 3:45is the obstacle clearing, both useful
- 3:46for its plus three inventory slots and
- 3:49chainsaw that will allow us to gather
- 3:52mycelia.
- 3:53More slugs, more slugs, more crash
- 3:55sites. 20 minutes into the run, the
- 3:57first hard drive is down. Now it's time
- 4:00for some slugs research and parachute
- 4:03crafting. We then unlock the resource
- 4:05sink bonus program at 22 minutes. It
- 4:07will be useful to get some early coupons
- 4:09and the space elevator building cost. We
- 4:12then return where our assemblers were
- 4:14processing smart plating.
- 4:16We sink some juicy iron material to get
- 4:19some early coupons here.
- 4:21At this point into the run, gather 20
- 4:23slugs, seven purple slugs, 14 hard
- 4:25drives, and a lot of materials. Now,
- 4:28it's time to build a space elevator and
- 4:31finish package one.
- 4:33And now, since the package two
- 4:35milestones are open, we can prefill them
- 4:37with all the materials we collected.
- 4:40The first milestone unlocked here is
- 4:41basic steel for two main reason. First
- 4:44one is that we'll will need to buy steel
- 4:46pipes for the summer looping. The second
- 4:49one is for the next hard drive research.
- 4:51We want the solid steel recipe. Okay, we
- 4:54eat responds here and we go to the back
- 4:56to the starting area. We will go to pick
- 4:59600 mycelia from this weird looking
- 5:01mushroom cage here.
- 5:03Then it's time to nudge the hub across
- 5:05the map to our final destination. Now,
- 5:07let's put some chest here and empty our
- 5:10pockets.
- 5:11And guess what? We have 10 minutes
- 5:12before the next mom research. So, we'll
- 5:15do more exploration, eat more slugs, eat
- 5:17more slugs, eat more crash sites. 36
- 5:20minutes into the run, we unlock
- 5:22blueprint. As it is the most useful
- 5:24milestone for the whole run and we will
- 5:26need it soon for the summer looping
- 5:28research. All right, time for some SAM
- 5:31or gathering and summer looping research
- 5:33in the man.
- 5:34We are only 39 minutes into the run.
- 5:37How many portable miners do you want?
- 5:40Yes.
- 5:43Once enough SAM ore has been collected,
- 5:45we use this blueprint to convert all all
- 5:48of them into reanimated cells.
- 5:50And then a bit later into some fuel
- 5:52generators.
- 5:53That's the only downtime of the all run,
- 5:55and that's where I usually go to
- 5:57toilets.
- 5:58Okay, so my slugging is done. We can go
- 6:00back to the base and unlock this MK3
- 6:03milestone.
- 6:04All these juicy 270 items per minute
- 6:07belts. We love them.
- 6:09First thing here is to slug the purple
- 6:11slugs to get 10 power shards from each
- 6:14slug.
- 6:15Which will allow us to overclock every
- 6:18single building.
- 6:20Then we can work on blueprints. The main
- 6:22idea of this route is to use blueprints
- 6:24for absolutely everything because it's a
- 6:26huge time save. The first blueprint is
- 6:29the 24 biomass burners that will carry
- 6:31us until the fuel generator. Which is in
- 6:35phase three. So, for the next 2 hours,
- 6:37we will only rely on those biomass
- 6:39burners.
- 6:41All right, so we place the 24 biomass
- 6:43burner blueprint and feed it with
- 6:45slugged constructors that will quadruple
- 6:48the output from mycelia.
- 6:50Another blueprint, nine smelters that
- 6:52are load balanced
- 6:54for iron and copper.
- 6:56Another blueprint also for the
- 6:57assemblers, one, two, and three
- 6:59assemblers.
- 7:00All right, now that the map research is
- 7:02complete, it's time for some reroll.
- 7:04I use here the blueprint rewind
- 7:06technique to get the hard drives back.
- 7:08So, what exactly is the blueprint
- 7:10rewind? Basically, blueprints are shared
- 7:12within a save. So, you can use them to
- 7:14save a recipe in the machine. And then
- 7:17come back to a previous save and have
- 7:19those recipes in the blueprints.
- 7:21This can save up all milestone or the
- 7:24hard drives in this case.
- 7:26Next blueprint is the six constructors
- 7:28load balanced. I use it for wire, pipes,
- 7:31plates, concrete, and copper sheets.
- 7:33Once we have the blueprint now and the
- 7:35alternate recipes, the rest is pretty
- 7:37straightforward.
- 7:39We start with iron and coal making steel
- 7:41beams, iron rods, and plates.
- 7:43We'll scale up power with another 24
- 7:45biomass burners blueprint. We start 15
- 7:48smart plating per minute here, so it
- 7:51will be finished in about 33 minutes.
- 7:53Then, we build some wire, and by some I
- 7:56mean 540 wire per minute.
- 7:59Now, reinforced iron plates with a steel
- 8:01screw alternate recipe. We then unlock
- 8:04expanded power infrastructure and
- 8:06immediately rewind this one to save us
- 8:08key resources and bonus spawn time. More
- 8:11beams and steel pipes.
- 8:13We then start the sulfur storage with
- 8:15five industrial containers. More power.
- 8:18By this time, we have more than 4,000
- 8:21MW. Then, we can build some steel
- 8:23frames.
- 8:24Followed by copper rotor. The nice thing
- 8:26here is that the oil run is powered by
- 8:29only one assembler crafting rotors.
- 8:31>> [music]
- 8:31>> Only one. Can you imagine?
- 8:33Then, it's time for 12 industrial
- 8:35container blueprint that will be used to
- 8:37store copper ingots for the nuclear
- 8:39pasta later on.
- 8:40Then, we set up 50 versatile framework
- 8:42per minute and build the hyper tube
- 8:44cannon. So, how do we build a hyper tube
- 8:47cannon exactly? First, start with hyper
- 8:49tube supports spaced by two ticks each.
- 8:52Then, we build an hyper tube entrance on
- 8:54every two supports.
- 8:56Finally, we connect the hyper tube
- 8:58between each entrance and the next
- 8:59support.
- 9:01At the end, you can adjust direction you
- 9:02want from the last hyper tube support.
- 9:05Finally, we connect the biomass burner
- 9:06and add some biofuel in this.
- 9:09It will be powered even when we are not
- 9:11in the base. Here, another mom research
- 9:13for the quality of life plus six
- 9:15inventory slots from alien mega fauna
- 9:18research tree.
- 9:21We then explore the dune desert for the
- 9:22next 15 [music] minutes for more slugs,
- 9:24more crash sites, more slugs,
- 9:27or everything. We also take this time
- 9:29here to gather some wood for the biomass
- 9:31burners at home.
- 9:33By the time we get home, we have
- 9:34collected more than 50 summer slugs in
- 9:36total and dozens of slugs. All right.
- 9:39Time to play down this space elevator
- 9:41and send this package number two.
- 9:45Oil processing here is the first package
- 9:47we unlock. By the way, we're still less
- 9:49than two hours into the run. Next here
- 9:51is the man research. Uh so I unlock
- 9:53several research trees uh such as
- 9:56quartz, caterium, and sulfur.
- 9:59We are essentially looking for nobelisk,
- 10:02uh quickwire, and daisy chain. We then
- 10:04set up some motors and encase industrial
- 10:07beams. [music]
- 10:08Then it's time for some foundries with
- 10:10the copper alloy recipe that we'll store
- 10:13some copper ingots for the late game and
- 10:15especially for the car pasta. Then it's
- 10:18time for some blueprint rewind here. So
- 10:20we unlock first the fuel generator
- 10:22milestone and then the industrial
- 10:24manufacturing milestone. Then we unlock
- 10:27both HMF and crystal computer recipes
- 10:30from the man.
- 10:31Those recipes have really nice speed and
- 10:34have lower input requirements, so
- 10:36they're really useful. Since the
- 10:38manufacturer milestone is rewinded here,
- 10:40then we can save every recipe in some
- 10:43blueprints.
- 10:44So the freight packaging is the next
- 10:45milestone that we also rewind here.
- 10:48The packager will be later used for
- 10:50pressure turbo motors. Here I stop smart
- 10:53plating by limiting the number of rotors
- 10:55it will So it will produce exactly the
- 10:57number we need and not overproduce it.
- 11:00We then boost the copper sheet
- 11:01production by setting up additional 120
- 11:03copper sheet per minute.
- 11:05Then it's time for some refinery
- 11:07blueprints. I make one for plastic, one
- 11:10for rubber, one for fuel, and one for
- 11:11heavy oil residue. The oil is not far
- 11:13from the base, so let's put all our
- 11:15refineries here. I also pumped up some
- 11:19power with eight fuel generators, each
- 11:21being throttled at 250%. It's time to
- 11:24start some modular engines, 15 per
- 11:27minute, so it will take about 33 minutes
- 11:29in total.
- 11:30Now let's get those 200 rubber and 200
- 11:32plastic per minute home with a nice
- 11:34blueprint here. It's a two-belt
- 11:36blueprint that will auto connect. More
- 11:38power as we will also consume more with
- 11:41the future ACU and HMF manufacturer.
- 11:44Then three assemblers for circuit board,
- 11:46one assembler for crystal computer, and
- 11:49we buy some crystal oscillators so we
- 11:51don't have to craft them. And I build
- 11:53one manufacturer for ACUs that will take
- 11:5620 minutes to reach 100. Before we go
- 11:59exploring, we can store some bauxite
- 12:01here in a double chest. This will be
- 12:04useful for phase four. Now, and you
- 12:06guessed it, time for some exploration
- 12:09because all of the space elevator parts
- 12:11are being crafted. We complete pipeline
- 12:13engineering MK2 on the go and back to
- 12:16exploration. Focus here is summer slugs,
- 12:19purple slugs, bauxite as always. We
- 12:22circle around the bamboo forest and we
- 12:25kill some locals. Hey guys. Back at the
- 12:27base, we make some HMF.
- 12:30One manufacturer will be enough to power
- 12:32the all run. Then we go explore more in
- 12:34the desert mountains. More slugs, more
- 12:36slugs. All right, time to get home.
- 12:39Package three is ready.
- 12:42Package four is by far the hardest
- 12:44package here. So, we have many
- 12:46possibilities and I tend to always make
- 12:48some mistakes here. First unlock is
- 12:50hover pack as it will accelerate our
- 12:52building speed. More power with more oil
- 12:55fuel generators and a bit more rubber as
- 12:58well. Good. How many batteries do you
- 13:00want? Yes. We make some aluminum
- 13:04blueprints here, so it's two refineries
- 13:06linked together. And we unlock some
- 13:08milestones. Bauxite refinement, which
- 13:11will be rewinded, and control system
- 13:13development. We save the alternate
- 13:15recipes for ACU. Then it's time for
- 13:18three aluminum blueprints here. Those
- 13:21blueprints will make more than 800
- 13:23aluminum ingots per minute.
- 13:25We then take the stored bauxite here to
- 13:27speed up the early aluminum.
- 13:30We store some coal for future diamonds.
- 13:32Then some steel pipes at the rate of 240
- 13:36per minute.
- 13:37More copper ingots as well for future
- 13:39use.
- 13:40Oh man, don't see here in this
- 13:42forest. Why do I keep building here?
- 13:45Time to build some radio control unit
- 13:47back in the base. I also buy crystal
- 13:50oscillators and put exactly the number I
- 13:52need in the chest. Time for some circuit
- 13:55computer and ADS craft. Oh, I love this
- 13:58blueprint here. It will be a massive
- 14:00belt highway. All right, so let's bring
- 14:03all the resources to the base. Boxite,
- 14:06future uranium, future sand, and future
- 14:08nitrogen.
- 14:09Now we can finally connect boxite. Then
- 14:12we'll have a constant aluminum
- 14:13production from now on.
- 14:15Time to prepare the blenders for cooling
- 14:17system and fuse water frame.
- 14:19Even if I build a lot of them, I still
- 14:21need to purchase some in the next hour.
- 14:24Nuclear power is done, so we can set up
- 14:26some MFG's and ECR. Let's build two
- 14:29assemblers for the in sync.
- 14:31And let's get that nitrogen with another
- 14:34smaller pipe highway. Let's also get the
- 14:37uranium that is next to us here.
- 14:40And we use a nice little trick to go
- 14:42underground.
- 14:44Is this how the devs in Penny Dreadful
- 14:46play here? Time to build some sand
- 14:49extractors
- 14:50as we will need more than 1,000 here to
- 14:52face five.
- 14:54So we bring home the reanimated sand and
- 14:57then we can go explore more.
- 14:59The swamp is such a nice and friendly
- 15:01place, right? Why not visiting it?
- 15:04We unlock then the particle enrichment
- 15:06on the go with some pay-to-win scouple.
- 15:09More exploration for more slurps and
- 15:12slugs. This will bring us back 16 summer
- 15:15slurps and [music] every single one of
- 15:17them will be used.
- 15:19Back at the base we unlock turbo
- 15:21pressure motor
- 15:22and uranium alternate recipe. Let's use
- 15:26all those stored copper ingots for
- 15:28copper powder production. Next thing
- 15:31here is to build up some pressure
- 15:33conversion cubes that will be used both
- 15:35for turbo pressure motor and nuclear
- 15:37pasta. All right, time for some turbo
- 15:39motors. Then, we need motor stators and
- 15:43additional compactor and constructor for
- 15:45those. Then, we can start working on the
- 15:47nuclear setup. First thing is to get
- 15:49uranium waters and easy hours to our
- 15:52beautiful lake. Refineries for sulfuric
- 15:55acid. How convenient we have some water
- 15:57and some sulfur next to it. Three
- 15:59blenders for some encased uranium cells.
- 16:03Then, we unlock the leading package
- 16:05production milestone and we can start
- 16:08working on TPRs. Ah, this blueprint, I'm
- 16:11so proud of it. It's to connect water to
- 16:13nuclear power and also to store the
- 16:16nuclear waste.
- 16:18Who cares about it anyway? So, we finish
- 16:20nuclear setup. This lake looks nice,
- 16:23right? Would it be a shame for us to
- 16:26make it not safe for work? This
- 16:28blueprint is so nice and make the
- 16:29nuclear setup so fast. All right, so
- 16:33nine nuclear power plants, each being
- 16:35shot at 250%.
- 16:37This is a juicy 70,000 MW hour. Now that
- 16:41we have power, we can do some noisy
- 16:43particle accelerator that will produce a
- 16:46lot of nuclear pasta.
- 16:48Since we have some time, let's double up
- 16:50nuclear power plants to get 18 in total.
- 16:53Five hours into the run and phase four
- 16:55is complete already. [music]
- 16:58The first milestone here is matter
- 17:00conversion with 250 RCUs, 100 FMF, and
- 17:03500 cooling system. My god.
- 17:06Time to use all the stored gold for
- 17:08diamond particle accelerators and our
- 17:11two converters for time crystals.
- 17:13And thanks to chat, I can now fix my
- 17:15mistake of forgetting the belts. One
- 17:18more converter for fixed it trigons and
- 17:21three blenders for the biochemical
- 17:22support. That will take us about 33
- 17:25minutes as well. Since we have some time
- 17:28to kill before the next milestone, let's
- 17:30double our nuclear pasta production. And
- 17:33we can also connect two belts for the
- 17:35copper powder.
- 17:36Let's now get quantum encoding milestone
- 17:39here. Later we start building two
- 17:41quantum encoders and one converter for
- 17:43the AI expansion servers. We use some
- 17:46dedicated chests here to fill those up.
- 17:48Then two particle accelerators for the
- 17:50dark matter crystal production. Um power
- 17:53is a bit concerning right now. So let's
- 17:55add a alien power augmenter. All right,
- 17:58so 10 minutes more to kill before the
- 18:00next milestone here.
- 18:02Let's explore more and get all the
- 18:05remaining slugs from the map. In total,
- 18:07we get all the android and six summer
- 18:10slugs. Oh, we have only two Nobelisks
- 18:13left, but we only have two rocks [music]
- 18:15to destroy. So that's perfect estimate
- 18:17right here. And yes, you can explode the
- 18:19uranium nodes with Nobelisks. Then we
- 18:22can prepare the manufacturers for the
- 18:23next milestone.
- 18:25We can take the 110 stored TPRs.
- 18:29And the final milestone, special energy
- 18:32regulation. We rewind both Singularity
- 18:35cell recipe and ballistic wall drive
- 18:37recipe. Then we can fill the
- 18:39manufacturers and the Singularity cell.
- 18:43Final 10 minutes here is just
