1:342010 I joined the Marine company so I
1:38was working in the Marine company for

23:50crying and when she saw me she started
23:52rolling on the ground giving praise to
23:54God that she never got married and lose
23:58her all husband that she tell that she's
24:00alive and she has a husband beside her
24:02that she's holding God a lot for keeping
24:04me alive and keeping me safe strong and
24:07healthy so we're very happy celebrating
24:10that night for my mom everybody came and
24:12we very very happy but from that day I
24:15started having trauma because when
24:16anytime I'm in the house when I'm in the
24:18room at night I feel the whole house is
24:20sinking so I would just grab my wife in
24:22the shoulder and try to run out of the
24:24house several times I've been doing that
24:26for like 2 weeks until I called the
24:29company attention and they send a
24:32medical expert across to me to check if
24:34I'm okay if everything is okay with me
24:37and she said I have to change
24:39environment to see I can regain myself
24:43and they did actually and after some
24:46time I was
24:48fine and I came back home and they said
24:51I have to get busy so I can get my mind
24:55off everything that happened so I have
24:57to resume what
24:59so he decided I
25:01should come back to the office and walk
25:03in the office in land
25:05so I went back to the office I saided
25:08walking I accepted it
25:11and when I supposed to resume that was
25:14first fourth week of January
25:182014 I moved to poot after the incident
25:22I went back to water because I was in
25:24Gambia and all the hotels in Gambia is

26:25will never move my hands I will never
26:27move my leg because is something I've
26:29been doing for a very long time and I
26:31practice it so I like swimming so when I
26:35got to that Gambia I have to swim again

26:44go for this diving but I just need to

27:14own I took everything silently and I
27:17left the country and I went for the
27:19course it was June 2015 that I took that
27:22course
27:23and the the the own of the school
27:25happened to be the the senior instructor
27:27he was scared to train me because
27:30himself that is not that did not even go
27:32through the accident was having a phobia
27:35he was even scared of me so he
27:37instructed a young instructor and he's a
27:40girl to train me and name is Lara so she
27:44she was with me and they put me in the
27:46tank to see how courageous I'm going to
27:49be and I was there I did well and after
27:522 days it took me back to the ocean
27:55again to go and swim and I was in the
27:57ocean at the same time I was swimming
28:00and he now bu confidence in me that I
28:02can do the training and I saided doing
28:04the training and a lot of crowd people
28:07was around watching me making videos and
28:10everything so we did the
28:12[Music]
28:13training for two months then I went back
28:16to Nigeria then I have to come back
28:18again in
28:202018 I came back again and I did the
28:23course
28:25again and I got to 50 50 m
28:29depth and I was the first person that
28:31got to 50 m depth among all of us that
28:33was doing the training and the guy was
28:35like this guy determin to do it in life
28:38so after that I came back and after
28:42after I came back 3 days in Tava I got a
28:44job in the offshore to go back to the
28:46ocean again so when I got to the
28:49ocean started diving going down the
28:52seabed to do the job installation and
28:55everything I was feeling more
28:56comfortable because being in the ocean
28:59alone the wind the silent of the
29:01environment keeps me happy so I just
29:06like it I enjoy it I have I have
29:10serious feeling inside of me that every
29:13week if I'm not in the sea I should be
29:15in the pool so I started doing the job
29:17and I'm enjoying the job right now
29:20um to me I think it was a day I was
29:23asked to dive 2:00 in the midnight and
29:26there was Shack
29:28roaming around the vessel which I'm
29:30seeing Life direct and they said you are
29:33diving now and if I said I'm not diving
29:35I have to be booked immediately away
29:36from that place so I told them no
29:38problem getting my gar I have to KY the
29:40fear inside of me but there's something
29:42I like doing in my life because I have
29:44seen and I've understand that fear sto a
29:46lot of people to get into a particular
29:49level of Life they want to get to and to
29:51even acquire so many things in their
29:52life but when they just grab that fear
29:54inside of them everything dies so when I
29:56was going down
29:58the Shar came and hit the basket Boop
30:00boom but I was still going under front
30:02he can
30:04actually he can actually approach me but
30:08it hit the side and and I was still
30:09going down because it was the 3 m depth
30:11of that same place because I happened to
30:13be diving in that same place that my
30:15vessel went down that I have the Sheep
30:17wreck and that was the same place I was
30:18diving so I had that attack that day but
30:22I still went down I got the job done and
30:24I came back successfully so because in
30:27the training they would tell you you
30:28don't need to panic you don't need to be
30:30afraid if you see the shark eyeball to
30:32eyeball don't lose the shark so I was so
30:35courage I went there I did the job so to
30:39me I believe I like the ocean is my
30:41world I just like diving I like water I
30:43like swimming so I'm enjoying the
30:45profession right
30:47now hair pocket that they were talking
30:50about is if you have a bottle and you
30:54put the bottle fill with water and you
30:56capside it you still see it small bubble
30:59inside that the air pocket they talking
31:01about but I will tell you I will tell
31:04you a I will tell you this story in a
31:06thousand ways but I will tell you that
31:09it's God that kept me alive because even
31:12the hair pocket the head I have inside
31:13is not even enough for me to breathe
31:17it's not even enough I I know how long I
31:19struggle to have
31:21breath but I just knew very well that
31:25the way I kept calm
31:29the way things were just like putting in
31:31order the way I was thinking planning my
31:33things doing my things it is not even
31:35training the ideas everything was just
31:38from
31:39God I just have to manage the whole
31:42situation but it's just God because if
31:45it's some people they will even try to
31:48go out anyhow and will end up in the
31:52water but for me to take a decision and
31:55go back there and wait and even think of
31:58making a a rope out of a cover to get my
32:01direction I think is not my strength
32:04it's God because I believe the thousands
32:07question always come on that that a
32:10pocket a I will tell you it's not the a
32:12poet that kept me
32:14alive and the final word I will
32:17say we are all humans and we work for
32:21people and we have the spirit of fear of
32:24the unknown inside of us to do things to
32:27say things
32:30that Spirit should be taken away from us
32:32because you will not be killed you will
32:35not be
32:36beaten because when I said that the
32:40accident happened out of human
32:43error is because instead of our chief
32:48made to tell us hit the Majesty alarm
32:51that there is danger everybody should
32:54rush out with their life jacket he was
32:56scared that it's going to to lose his
32:58job he will be
33:00fired and he was struggling with the
33:03situation and that LEDs to people's
33:06life but if he could say there's danger
33:11everybody will run out today they would
33:12have been
33:14alive so one thing I will say is this
33:16the spirit of fear of the unknown take
33:17it out of
33:18you be brave enough to say things when
33:21you need to say them don't be scared you
33:24will never be kid you'll never be beaten
33:26highest is go home and you can look for
33:29job elsewhere but as far you have your
33:33life you are good to
