- 0:00So, what's your take? Hot takes are
- 0:02ruining civilization. 100%
- 0:04agree. It's true. It is.
- 0:06>> you said it. No offense, obviously, but
- 0:09I think we're losing the ability to talk
- 0:10to each other and to actually have
- 0:12valuable conversations cuz everything
- 0:13has to be quick and snappy. There's no
- 0:16nuance. Also, like people need to shut
- 0:19Sorry.
- 0:20Too many people are talking about the
- 0:22same thing all the time and it's doing
- 0:25my head in. I was thinking that it's the
- 0:27over intellectual the over
- 0:29intellectualization
- 0:30of everything. People are like, "So,
- 0:31what's your take on what's happening in
- 0:33the world?"
- 0:33>> but also people use the same phrases
- 0:35when they're having these hot takes. So,
- 0:37it's like
- 0:37>> Such as 100% agree. Such as in case
- 0:40anybody needed to hear this and blah and
- 0:42then they'll go into something that
- 0:43we've heard a million times before like
- 0:45>> Oh, period.
- 0:46>> Having a boyfriend is embarrassing.
- 0:47Period.
- 0:48>> Period. When people write period T. Yes.
- 0:51>> I mean to annunciate their point.
- 0:52Anything that can be summed up in less
- 0:54than 240 characters or whatever it is on
- 0:57X is not a is not a valuable
- 1:00conversation.
- 1:00>> know, I'm have to change my mind. I
- 1:01actually I like takes. I think takes are
- 1:03good for society because people I guess
- 1:05people thinking a little bit.
- 1:06>> But does it though? Because how do you
- 1:07then go from point A to like
- 1:09>> Being a lawyer. I'm speaking to an
- 1:10ex-lawyer here. So, like I like things
- 1:12to be defined.
- 1:13>> You want to go to point you want to go
- 1:14from point A to point B. I want to stay
- 1:16at point A.
- 1:17>> Technically, we're on our way to point B
- 1:18right now. I also think that it's
- 1:20because of all these hot takes that
- 1:21we're sort of um
- 1:23we've lost the art of looking into each
- 1:25other's eyes and saying nice things to
- 1:27each other. The art of conversation.
- 1:29>> Yes, because we're all on the internet
- 1:31like typing away like filming our faces
- 1:33and nobody looks at themselves looks at
- 1:36each other in the eye anymore. Yeah. How
- 1:39long can you hold eye contact?
- 1:39>> I it's I'm going to try.
- 1:41>> pretty good at it. No, I'm not actually.
- 1:42>> [laughter]
- 1:43>> I'm feeling really uncomfortable. I
- 1:44think that hot takes are necessary for
- 1:45me to continue to grow my global media
- 1:48empire.
- 1:48>> Look, as I said, no offense to the king
- 1:50of the hot take. Snogging, I think we
- 1:52need to bring back snogging.
- 1:54>> What the hell snogging is? You know, you
- 1:55kissing someone. What?
- 1:57Exchanging fluids. Wait, what? I make my
- 2:00case.
