  1. 0:00[Music]
  2. 0:04so let's begin by pressing start and
  3. 0:06then typing in
  4. 0:10CMD then we're going to click run as
  5. 0:12administrator and when the prompt pops
  6. 0:14up click yes then in the command prompt
  7. 0:17we're just going to type in ip
  8. 0:20config this is where all the stuff's
  9. 0:22going to pop up that we're going to need
  10. 0:23to set up our server and set a static IP
  11. 0:26we'll be needing the ipv4 address the
  12. 0:28subnet mask and the default gateway the
  13. 0:30default gateway is what you'll be using
  14. 0:33to log into to your router later the
  15. 0:36ipv4 address is going to be our static
  16. 0:39IP and this is basically what people
  17. 0:41will be using to connect to the server
  18. 0:43if we don't set this as our static IP
  19. 0:45then the server will just not show up
  20. 0:48for people or people won't be able to
  21. 0:49connect because the IP will be changing
  22. 0:52because it'll be a dynamic IP rather
  23. 0:55than static and if it's static then
  24. 0:58people can join uh if if it's not then
  25. 1:00people won't be able to join most likely
  26. 1:03let's set up a static IP so I'm on
  27. 1:05Windows 11 so I'm going to right click
  28. 1:07on the start menu and click
  29. 1:11settings and then I'm going to go to
  30. 1:13network and internet then when I'm here
  31. 1:15I'm going to click on properties because
  32. 1:19wherever you're on Ethernet or if you're
  33. 1:21on Wi-Fi you'll select that and then
  34. 1:23you'll scroll down and uh mine's already
  35. 1:25set up but this will be on automatic you
  36. 1:28want to change this to manual uh on the
  37. 1:31IP
  38. 1:33settings and then you're basically going
  39. 1:34to enter in the details from the command
  40. 1:37prompt over to these settings so as you
  41. 1:39can see here the IP address is the same
  42. 1:42as the one in the command prompt the
  43. 1:44subn mask is also the same and so is the
  44. 1:48Gateway you'll need this setup because
  45. 1:51that's how you keep a static IP then the
  46. 1:54preferred DNS is a bit different so you
  47. 1:56can use any of the dns's online there's
  48. 1:59like like Cloud flare Google and uh all
  49. 2:02sorts so you can pretty much just Google
  50. 2:04free DNS servers I'm using the Google
  51. 2:06one here so uh you'll basically want to
  52. 2:09do
  53. 2:128888 uh all with dots in between and
  54. 2:15then for the alternative DNS you want to
  55. 2:16do
  56. 2:188844 uh these are the uh DNS stuff for
  57. 2:23Google save that and everything's all
  58. 2:25set up so this is basically the other
  59. 2:27way you can do it if you click on start
  60. 2:29and go to control panel uh this is
  61. 2:31basically the same way that you can do
  62. 2:33it but on a simpler way so you can see
  63. 2:35there's Network and Sharing there cuz
  64. 2:36I've got large icons on but otherwise
  65. 2:38you can go to category network and
  66. 2:41internet and then click on Network and
  67. 2:43Sharing
  68. 2:45Center and then you want to click on
  69. 2:47change adapter
  70. 2:49settings and then you can choose between
  71. 2:51ethernet or Wi-Fi if you're hosting on
  72. 2:53Wi-Fi obviously you want to do that but
  73. 2:54I'm hosting on ethernet so I'm going to
  74. 2:56right click on that and click on
  75. 2:59properties
  76. 3:00then I'm going to scroll down to the
  77. 3:01Internet Protocol version 4
  78. 3:04tcp/ipv4
  79. 3:05and I'm just going to click properties
  80. 3:08and these are the same settings here
  81. 3:10that you saw us do in the other one uh
  82. 3:13as you can see the ipv4 address the
  83. 3:15subnet mask the default gateway and the
  84. 3:18preferred and Alternate DNS servers are
  85. 3:22all still there either way this will all
  86. 3:24be set up the same but that these are
  87. 3:26just the two different ways you can do
  88. 3:28it if you can't find one or the other
  89. 3:31then you just tick validate settings and
  90. 3:33click
  91. 3:33okay it'll pop up with a little
  92. 3:36troubleshooting thing and it should say
  93. 3:39that there's no
  94. 3:41issues like this couldn't identify the
  95. 3:44problem then you can just close it and
  96. 3:47that's your static IP
  97. 3:49[Music]
  98. 3:56setup so this is a very crucial step if
  99. 4:00you want your server to be seen by
  100. 4:01others you obviously want to uh make
  101. 4:03sure you do all this correctly so follow
  102. 4:05this
  103. 4:06thoroughly so as you saw before we have
  104. 4:09a default
  105. 4:11gateway um and we're going to use this
  106. 4:13to log into our router so we're going to
  107. 4:15control see this and paste this into our
  108. 4:18browser you can use Edge you can use
  109. 4:19Chrome you can use whatever and this
  110. 4:21should lead you to your modem you'll
  111. 4:24obviously want to log in using your uh
  112. 4:26details that you can find in the manual
  113. 4:27or on the back of the modem or whatever
  114. 4:30then uh everyone's modem is different uh
  115. 4:34mine says wear Services that's where I'm
  116. 4:36going to be doing my port
  117. 4:37forwarding um yours might have different
  118. 4:41names for
  119. 4:43it um but yeah port forwarding Port
  120. 4:47mapping uh it's you know the they should
  121. 4:50be uh the same if it has kind of the
  122. 4:53similar setup then this should be
  123. 4:55correct so obviously mine's already set
  124. 4:58up but uh you want to make sure sure
  125. 4:59it's TCP and UDP um if you can't do that
  126. 5:03you'll just you know set them up
  127. 5:04separately the ports are obviously going
  128. 5:06to be the ports that you want to use to
  129. 5:08Ford I just have mine in in a certain
  130. 5:10range between 7777 and
  131. 5:147780 and obviously the IP that we have
  132. 5:18uh from the hosting computer uh which is
  133. 5:22the ipv4 address we saw in the command
  134. 5:24prompt
  135. 5:25earlier so you'll enter all that in uh
  136. 5:29give it an name make sure it's on and uh
  137. 5:32click the tick to apply the settings and
  138. 5:34that should be pretty much it you
  139. 5:35shouldn't have to restart your modem but
  140. 5:37some people might have to um but it
  141. 5:40should all be set up and ready to
  142. 5:41[Music]
  143. 5:46go so now we need to do basically the
  144. 5:49same thing but on the computer so we're
  145. 5:51going to click the start menu and we're
  146. 5:53going to type in Windows Defender
  147. 5:54Firewall with Advanced security Now you
  148. 5:57can just type in Windows Defender and it
  149. 5:59will probably pop
  150. 6:01up and then we want to go to inbound
  151. 6:05rules this is uh because incoming
  152. 6:08connections so you know you're getting
  153. 6:11an inbound
  154. 6:12connection uh so obviously again I have
  155. 6:15mine setup already but I'm going to show
  156. 6:16you how to do it so you go new rule and
  157. 6:19then you go to Port because you're going
  158. 6:21to be forwarding the
  159. 6:23port and in this one you can only do
  160. 6:26either TCP or UDP so you just put in the
  161. 6:29port that you put in
  162. 6:31earlier so pretty much the same way do
  163. 6:347777 D 7780 or whatever your ports are
  164. 6:38you you can choose different ports but
  165. 6:40these are like pretty much the default
  166. 6:42so then you'll click next allow the
  167. 6:44connection it'll probably default to
  168. 6:46block the connection just click allow
  169. 6:48the connection and then click next uh
  170. 6:50make sure all these are ticked give it a
  171. 6:52name just whatever you'll recognize a bu
  172. 6:54in case you need to change this in the
  173. 6:55future if you have to change the ports
  174. 6:57for whatever reason if the ports to
  175. 7:00being used by other things obviously
  176. 7:02you'll name it after TCP because you're
  177. 7:04using TCP and then you'll basically do
  178. 7:06the same thing for UDP new rule Port
  179. 7:09next and then you take UDP instead of
  180. 7:12TCP specific local port and then the
  181. 7:16same ports as
  182. 7:18earlier next allow the connection all of
  183. 7:21the all them ticked and then name it
  184. 7:24then you can click finish obviously I
  185. 7:25already have mine set up so I don't want
  186. 7:27to do doubles and just so you can see
  187. 7:30that's how it should look if you double
  188. 7:31click on it just showing you that that's
  189. 7:34how mine is set up that's how it all
  190. 7:37should
  191. 7:38work and there you go your server should
  192. 7:41now be technically visible to
  193. 7:44[Music]
  194. 7:51everyone so the link to this site will
  195. 7:53be in the description this is basically
  196. 7:56uh what you'll need to download the
  197. 7:58server files required for the server so
  198. 8:03this is steam CMD this is how you
  199. 8:06download the server files so when you go
  200. 8:08to this site you'll scroll down till you
  201. 8:11see uh download ccmd for Windows the one
  202. 8:13next to it you just click on that it'll
  203. 8:15download a steamcmd
  204. 8:18dotzip you'll just download that
  205. 8:20wherever you want um and then extract
  206. 8:23that to basically wherever you want and
  207. 8:25once you've extracted the zip file then
  208. 8:28uh you should be able to open the folder
  209. 8:30and scroll down to steam cmd.exe
  210. 8:33double click on that and you should see
  211. 8:37this window popup and you'll basically
  212. 8:39want to type in login
  213. 8:42Anonymous and that'll basically log you
  214. 8:46into the steam stuff so that you don't
  215. 8:49have to type in a password and all that
  216. 8:51each time that you want to update and
  217. 8:53stuff like that then you'll create a
  218. 8:55folder wherever you want your server to
  219. 8:57be you probably won't want to on the C
  220. 8:59drive though because sometimes there's
  221. 9:01permission issues and Server doesn't
  222. 9:03start up correctly and stuff like that
  223. 9:05so put it anywhere other than in the
  224. 9:07main C drive and then uh copy the file
  225. 9:11path in the file explorer and then type
  226. 9:15in forcecore installcore
  227. 9:19D and then space and then paste in uh
  228. 9:23your file path it'll tell you um to use
  229. 9:27that before log on but it will still
  230. 9:28work work either way but probably do it
  231. 9:30first in case they update in the future
  232. 9:33then you want to type appor update 412
  233. 9:3868- beta everyo this is obviously the
  234. 9:41app ID that holds all the server files
  235. 9:44obviously mine's already done it's
  236. 9:46already up to date cuz I've already got
  237. 9:47it installed but it will start
  238. 9:49installing uh for you and eventually be
  239. 9:53completed and that's it you have the
  240. 9:55server files and you're ready to start
  241. 9:57your server
  242. 9:58up
  243. 9:59[Music]
  244. 10:02before we start it up though there's a
  245. 10:03few things we need to set
  246. 10:05up so obviously you're going to want to
  247. 10:08see the file extension so if you haven't
  248. 10:10already got it uh you go to your file
  249. 10:12explorer click the three dots click
  250. 10:14options then you want to click on
  251. 10:17view and then where it says hide
  252. 10:19extensions for known file types make
  253. 10:21sure that's unchecked and then click
  254. 10:24apply then click okay and now you should
  255. 10:27be able to see like txt and exe and all
  256. 10:31that stuff if you haven't already
  257. 10:32otherwise uh you don't need to do this
  258. 10:35because you can already see it all next
  259. 10:37you're going to probably want to
  260. 10:39configure your server so that you can
  261. 10:41actually uh get it up and running cuz
  262. 10:44without doing this uh it'll either pop
  263. 10:47up with the default stuff or it just
  264. 10:49won't pop up at all so you want to go to
  265. 10:51the aisle saved config Windows server
  266. 10:55and then you should see game. any
  267. 10:57engine. any G game user settings if you
  268. 11:00don't see these you can make these uh
  269. 11:02with text files and then
  270. 11:04obviously change the extension to any
  271. 11:08and edit these in notepad uh you'll most
  272. 11:10likely have to create these because for
  273. 11:12some reason these don't get created
  274. 11:14automatically but then you can go in
  275. 11:16here and in the game. ne you can
  276. 11:18basically put in your admin steam ID so
  277. 11:20whoever you want as admin you can put in
  278. 11:22their steam 64 IDs this is basically
  279. 11:25where you can change the name of your
  280. 11:26server as well and the max Play account
  281. 11:30if you want a password on the server and
  282. 11:32eventually they're going to make this uh
  283. 11:34even more customizable in the future so
  284. 11:38there'll be more settings and stuff in
  285. 11:39the future that you can add and change
  286. 11:42in here at any time and then engine. any
  287. 11:45uh you can find all this stuff in the
  288. 11:47guide you'll probably want to uh copy
  289. 11:50paste all this uh I don't know even if
  290. 11:53half of this needs to be in here but I
  291. 11:55can guarantee you the Epic online
  292. 11:57services part definitely needs to to be
  293. 11:59in there so make sure you copy that in
  294. 12:01and put it in the bottom of your engine
  295. 12:03any file you need the Epic online
  296. 12:06services thing CU otherwise your server
  297. 12:08won't be seen properly or it won't be
  298. 12:10able to start up correctly so just make
  299. 12:12sure you have that in there and that's
  300. 12:15uh the server setup you can configure
  301. 12:17everything to your
  302. 12:25liking so I don't know how you would
  303. 12:27apply this to any uh current information
  304. 12:30as this is no longer able to be used
  305. 12:33anymore but I'm going to show you this
  306. 12:35anyway so if you right click on the Al
  307. 12:37server.exe and then uh create a desktop
  308. 12:41shortcut you can essentially edit the
  309. 12:44shortcut and instead of having to do uh
  310. 12:47what's coming up next you could go into
  311. 12:49the properties of this and then this
  312. 12:51little window would pop up and you could
  313. 12:53change that Target section to basically
  314. 12:58be be the launch options the issue with
  315. 13:01it now is that the Epic online services
  316. 13:04part is way too long for some reason
  317. 13:07there's a limit on this target box so
  318. 13:12you can't really use this but this is
  319. 13:15something that you used to be able to do
  320. 13:17but not to worry you can use the next
  321. 13:20step uh to start your server correctly
  322. 13:23the best way to do this however is to
  323. 13:26find where you want to put this uh and
  324. 13:29then right click and make a new text
  325. 13:33document uh a txt file and you can name
  326. 13:37this whatever you want uh I called it
  327. 13:39server start just for Simplicity sake
  328. 13:42and you can just leave it as is and make
  329. 13:44it a text and then like enter it in and
  330. 13:47then change it later or we can just
  331. 13:50change the extension now tobat which
  332. 13:53means batch file it'll pop up this
  333. 13:55dialogue box you just click yes because
  334. 13:58this will work
  335. 13:59work and then you can basically just
  336. 14:01edit it in notepad and basically you
  337. 14:04would enter in uh the stuff but
  338. 14:06obviously I already have mine set up uh
  339. 14:08here's the other way you can just do it
  340. 14:10through here and on Windows 11 so you
  341. 14:12just do that you can click edit or edit
  342. 14:14a notepad or you can just use the little
  343. 14:16drop- down thing either way this is all
  344. 14:19the stuff that you will need um to put
  345. 14:22into your batch file and you'll
  346. 14:23basically want to change this to where
  347. 14:26you put your steam CMD
  348. 14:29and you'll want to change this to where
  349. 14:31your server is which is where you
  350. 14:34installed your server in the first place
  351. 14:36and you'll want to make sure you change
  352. 14:38uh this line specifically the F the L
  353. 14:41server 2 like the L server.exe that's
  354. 14:44where your EXC is located you'll copy it
  355. 14:46the same way we did before you'll change
  356. 14:49the port to the port you're using the
  357. 14:51max plays if you want to have different
  358. 14:52Max failur but I don't think that's
  359. 14:54configured in this anymore but that's
  360. 14:56essentially it then you can just double
  361. 14:57click that and it will start your server
  362. 14:59up so just to Showcase what's going on
  363. 15:02here I double clicked on the batch file
  364. 15:03the start file and it starts up steam
  365. 15:06CMD it checks for the updates it says
  366. 15:09that it's fully uh updated already now
  367. 15:12it says all server started and it should
  368. 15:13start up this here the log window pops
  369. 15:15up it says error map loaded that's a new
  370. 15:17thing in this update uh and as you can
  371. 15:20see it's going through all the
  372. 15:22things uh starting up the maps basically
  373. 15:27uh go through the title map and and then
  374. 15:28it goes to the actual map that you
  375. 15:31selected in this case it's Gateway these
  376. 15:34errors are all just a bunch of engine
  377. 15:35errors and they nothing to worry about
  378. 15:38um the the yellow warnings about
  379. 15:40vertexes and stuff you can just ignore
  380. 15:42all that and then
  381. 15:44eventually after some time you should
  382. 15:47see successfully created session UTA AR
  383. 15:50Rema uh obviously that'll be the name of
  384. 15:53your server that you put in the game Min
  385. 15:55earlier and it says session started
  386. 15:57successfully so then if I control C it
  387. 16:00uh in this log window specifically uh
  388. 16:03it'll close the server and then once it
  389. 16:06says game engine shut down then you
  390. 16:08contrl C once more and this countdown
  391. 16:11will begin and then once it reaches zero
  392. 16:14it'll repeat the process this is for in
  393. 16:16case uh the server crashes uh if if it D
  394. 16:20crashes or anything like that then it'll
  395. 16:23wait a minute and then restart the
  396. 16:26server it's also useful so that you you
  397. 16:28don't have to go through to steam CMD
  398. 16:32and type in all of that stuff again you
  399. 16:34can just start this up anytime you want
  400. 16:36to update the server uh and yeah you
  401. 16:39don't have to worry about a single thing
  402. 16:41and then once again there it is session
  403. 16:43started successfully if it says session
  404. 16:45started successfully and there's no
  405. 16:47other warnings uh above that that
  406. 16:50mention anything about uh forwarding
  407. 16:52ports or binding IPS then you should be
  408. 16:55good to
  409. 16:57go so we're hopping into the game here
  410. 17:00just to show you um just by following
  411. 17:03all of these steps uh if you go to the
  412. 17:06session filter go to
  413. 17:09unofficial and my server is obviously up
  414. 17:12here I can see mine it's got ping zero
  415. 17:14it's got all the names name and stuff
  416. 17:16got the game mode but you can also if
  417. 17:18you can't find your server you can just
  418. 17:20type it into to the search bar
  419. 17:23here and if you get scanning all
  420. 17:25frequencies just constantly loading like
  421. 17:27this just delete one of the letters or
  422. 17:29just delete one of the letters and uh it
  423. 17:32should um restart the scanning and
  424. 17:34actually find the
  425. 17:37server then you should be able to
  426. 17:38connect and if this connecting screen
  427. 17:41stays up for too long uh there's in the
  428. 17:44current update there's a bug in the game
  429. 17:46in if you have the BQ system in the game
  430. 17:50in just remove that um or just remove it
  431. 17:54from the game. and uh the connecting
  432. 17:57issue should go away and that's pretty
  433. 17:59much it that's how you set up your
  434. 18:02server you can see uh I set myself as an
  435. 18:05admin here um obviously because it's my
  436. 18:08server you can choose to be an admin or
  437. 18:10you can choose not to be there's a whole
  438. 18:12bunch of uh settings and stuff and
  439. 18:14they're apparently planning on adding
  440. 18:17more custom
  441. 18:19customization for your servers uh in the
  442. 18:22future so be on the lookout for that uh
  443. 18:26I'll be sure to mostly try and keep up
  444. 18:29to date on uh keep you guys up to date
  445. 18:33on everything that's happening but that
  446. 18:35is going to be it that's how you set up
  447. 18:38your
  448. 18:41server happy
  449. 18:44hosting
