- 0:00Technical terms explained in under 120
- 0:02seconds. Today: The assistance plan.
- 0:06The assistance plan is a tool used in
- 0:08child and youth welfare, serving as a
- 0:10document that regulates how educational
- 0:12support is planned, selected, and
- 0:14implemented. The assistance plan is
- 0:17case-specific. It always concerns
- 0:19support for a child, an adolescent, or
- 0:22a young adult. The focus of the
- 0:25assistance plan is on how the
- 0:26individual and their family can be
- 0:28supported. To achieve personal
- 0:31development and upbringing goals with
- 0:33the help of an organization, while
- 0:35overcoming existing challenges,
- 0:37barriers, and problems. In 99%of cases,
- 0:41an assistance plan is mandatory for
- 0:43educational support. This means it must
- 0:45be created, both as a quality standard
- 0:47and for the person's protection, but
- 0:50also to secure funding for the support
- 0:52services. Only in cases of individual
- 0:55and short-term educational counseling
- 0:56is an assistance plan not required. An
- 0:59important aspect of the assistance plan
- 1:01is its participatory nature. This means
- 1:03the child, adolescent, or young adult
- 1:05and their family are involved in the
- 1:07planning process. Classically,
- 1:11assistance plans are used in
- 1:13residential care and group homes for
- 1:15children and adolescents, as well as in
- 1:17socio-educational family support,
- 1:19counseling, foster care, and other
- 1:21housing forms. As a rule, an assistance
- 1:25plan meeting takes place once a year.
- 1:27During this meeting, the outlined
- 1:29points are reviewed for relevance and
- 1:31adjusted if necessary. What exactly the
- 1:34assistance plan looks like depends on
- 1:36the specific field of work and the
- 1:37individual involved, making it highly
- 1:39personalized. However, every assistance
- 1:41plan generally contains at least the
- 1:43following points. In addition to the
- 1:45person's basic data, the current
- 1:47situation is described from various
- 1:49perspectives. From the perspective of
- 1:52the child or adolescent, the guardians,
- 1:55and the professionals involved.
- 1:58Following this, the planned support
- 1:59measures are concretely formulated.
- 2:01Another essential point is the
- 2:03definition of goals. These are
- 2:05formulated using the SMART method and
- 2:07reviewed during the at least annual
- 2:09assistance plan meetings. Yeah.
