- 0:18technologies mergers and changing
- 0:20organizational structures safety aims
- 0:22and more it's easy sight of your purpose
- 0:26when it comes to truly serving the needs
- 0:28of patients you strive to ensure safe
- 0:31practices to reduce complaints and to
- 0:33enhance experiences for your patients
- 0:36and their families communication is key
- 0:41patients report communication and
- 0:43relationships with clinicians as the
- 0:45most important factor in high quality
- 0:47care even above accurate diagnosis and
- 0:50competence they want a clinician who
- 0:53listens as attentive or shows interest
- 0:56in them we worry that better
- 0:58communication requires precious time

- 1:38and 30% of the malpractice claims filed
- 1:41over a four-year study period as a
- 1:44devoted healthcare professional you
- 1:46strive to provide excellent care and to
- 1:49reduce the suffering of your patients
- 1:51most clinicians never receive training
- 1:54and communication skills there's no
- 1:57quick fix however the good news is that
- 2:02clinicians can adopt advanced skills for
- 2:04building relationships listening
- 2:06explaining and expressing authentic
- 2:09concern for patients with deliberate
