  1. 0:00Great question. Brady Telen,
  2. 0:02is having a large audience
  3. 0:06but you serve the algorithm or a smaller
  4. 0:08audience
  5. 0:09but you do only what you care about
  6. 0:12what you want better? Okay.
  7. 0:14I think I understand what you said
  8. 0:15there. By the way, if the questions are
  9. 0:17in English, that's much easier for me to
  10. 0:19to answer.
  11. 0:22So, by the way, replace the word
  12. 0:23algorithm with audience and it makes a
  13. 0:26lot more sense. So, it's like the
  14. 0:28algorithm change Dude, the algorithm is
  15. 0:29only an expression of what humans want.
  16. 0:32That's all it is. It's a It's a bunch of
  17. 0:34nerds in a room trying to quantify human
  18. 0:38interest. That's all the algorithm is.
  19. 0:40And so, the North Star should be make
  20. 0:42[ __ ] that the people that you want to
  21. 0:44buy from you will find interesting.
  22. 0:47Period.
  23. 0:49Now,
  24. 0:50there's the personal side of this. So,
  25. 0:51there I want to say like the objective
  26. 0:53side, right?
  27. 0:55For the business, the business requires
  28. 0:56you to make [ __ ] that your customers
  29. 0:58find interesting so they buy [ __ ] from
  30. 0:59you. That's what the business requires.
  31. 1:01But you as human, unfortunately, we have
  32. 1:03other desires. You might get bored of
  33. 1:05that, which is a big cost to you. And
  34. 1:07so, the the the risk for you is that you
  35. 1:09get burned out from doing it cuz you
  36. 1:10don't want to make content anymore cuz
  37. 1:11making content isn't always the most
  38. 1:13fun. And so, instead, we say, "What
  39. 1:15things do I want that I hope the
  40. 1:18audience finds interesting but I find
  41. 1:19really interesting." And I will say on a
  42. 1:21personal level, the stuff that I find
  43. 1:22the most interesting,
  44. 1:23as much as it's very kitschy to say,
  45. 1:26"If you make something that's
  46. 1:27interesting, everyone will find it
  47. 1:28interesting." It's not always true. Some
  48. 1:30of the [ __ ] that I find really
  49. 1:30interesting, some of y'all would not
  50. 1:32find interesting. Some more advanced
  51. 1:33business stuff is just like it's cuz
  52. 1:34it's not relevant. That's the thing.
  53. 1:36It's just not relevant to the vast
  54. 1:38majority of people. Now, if you want to
  55. 1:40go whale hunting, this is why it's
  56. 1:42important. If you want to go whale
  57. 1:43hunting, make whale content. If it is
  58. 1:45interesting to you and like if I want to
  59. 1:47make, you know, I want to make content
  60. 1:48for somebody who's got multiple hundred
  61. 1:49million dollar businesses, then yeah,
  62. 1:51the [ __ ] that I'm I'm [ __ ] with right
  63. 1:52now, I might be able to attract them but
  64. 1:54it's not going to get a lot lot views.
  65. 1:56But the thing is is that the algorithm,
  66. 1:58right? The targeting on the platforms is
  67. 1:59so good at finding people who would be
  68. 2:01interested in that stuff that it has
  69. 2:03never been before easier to reach people
  70. 2:06who are niche.
  71. 2:08And so, um
  72. 2:09I'll give you this little example. Uh
  73. 2:11I'm a an equipmentophile, which is a
  74. 2:13fancy word for somebody who likes gym
  75. 2:15equipment, all right? Um
  76. 2:17I
  77. 2:18Obsession's a strong word, but I would
  78. 2:20say that I am tend I tend to be
  79. 2:21obsessive as a person. Um I would I
  80. 2:23would say I look at gym equipment daily.
  81. 2:25Like I I look at new equipment daily for
  82. 2:28probably 30 minutes a day. So, like it's
  83. 2:31a pretty significant thing. Like I I
  84. 2:32look at equipment. I know all the [ __ ]
  85. 2:34that's in the pipeline. I know all the
  86. 2:35brands. I know the different make and
  87. 2:36models.
  88. 2:38Like
  89. 2:40I like gym equipment. Okay. You're like,
  90. 2:42"Where's he going with this?"
  91. 2:44My newsfeed on Instagram is gym
  92. 2:48equipment and metal manufacturers and
  93. 2:51metal fabricators that are tiny tiny
  94. 2:53guys. Uh well, they're bigger guys, but
  95. 2:55tiny audiences, right? Um and so, when I
  96. 2:57look, it's like a thousand followers,
  97. 2:593,000 followers, 5,000 followers, but I
  98. 3:01see their stuff on my discover page
  99. 3:03because I am the perfect customer. When
  100. 3:05I look at the content they're making,
  101. 3:06they're like, "Hey, look, I welded this
  102. 3:07handle on kind of differently and look
  103. 3:10what we can do with it." I am the only
  104. 3:11person who finds that interesting. But
  105. 3:14because I find it interesting, the
  106. 3:15algorithm gives it to me because I
  107. 3:16consume all that stuff. And so, that guy
  108. 3:19might look at his content strategy and
  109. 3:20be like, "Oh, I don't know if content's
  110. 3:22working." Of course content is working.
  111. 3:23There's a guy who
  112. 3:24uh Temple of Gains, I I I won't share
  113. 3:26his exact numbers,
  114. 3:28uh but he's at about 6,000 followers on
  115. 3:29Instagram. I'm pretty sure he's doing
  116. 3:31like a million bucks
  117. 3:33per
  118. 3:34He's doing multiple millions of dollars.
  119. 3:35I'll just say that, all right? Uh
  120. 3:37from his 6,000 followers, all right? And
  121. 3:39so, I bring this up as an important
  122. 3:41point to say that you can make a lot of
  123. 3:42money with a small audience as long as
  124. 3:44you make the [ __ ] the [ __ ] they want to
  125. 3:46see.
  126. 3:47That is the thing, all right? And so,
  127. 3:49you don't need to pick between the
  128. 3:50algorithm.
  129. 3:52You just make [ __ ] for your audience,
  130. 3:53and then make [ __ ] for you, and if
  131. 3:55there's stuff that you find interesting
  132. 3:56that they that your customer, and this
  133. 3:57is why by the way, you being your
  134. 3:59customer is the primo. That's the best
  135. 4:01case scenario, right? If you are your
  136. 4:04customer, then you make stuff that's
  137. 4:05interesting for you, which then by
  138. 4:06default becomes interesting for them.
  139. 4:07Over time, especially for B2B, sometimes
  140. 4:09it can be difficult because if you level
  141. 4:11up uh as a business owner, and by
  142. 4:14percentage a smaller percentage of your
  143. 4:15audience now is what you're into, which
  144. 4:17happens in fitness for example, you were
  145. 4:18once overweight, you were really into
  146. 4:20it, you got in shape, but now you're
  147. 4:21helping people overweight. The stuff
  148. 4:22you're into is like more advanced
  149. 4:23programming and and you know, macros and
  150. 4:26competing, whereas the somebody else
  151. 4:27trying to lose 30 lb, then you're going
  152. 4:29to have you're going to have to make
  153. 4:30content that is what you used to be
  154. 4:31interested in, not necessarily stuff you
  155. 4:32are interested in now. And so I would
  156. 4:34say I would encourage you, this is my
  157. 4:35meta my meta frame for this,
  158. 4:37the thing that I'm always interested in
  159. 4:39is winning. And I'm always interested in
  160. 4:41doing things well.
  161. 4:42And so it is more aligned with my ethos
  162. 4:45to
  163. 4:46[ __ ] do my best at whatever job is in
  164. 4:48front of me, than it is to try to play
  165. 4:51the ukulele of my my very ephemeral
  166. 4:53desires.
  167. 4:54All right, and trying to guess what I'm
  168. 4:56going to love today. I don't know what
  169. 4:57I'm going to love today, and I don't
  170. 4:58know if I'm going to be in the mood
  171. 4:59today, but
  172. 5:01the work needs doing either way. All
  173. 5:02right, and it's either you or your
  174. 5:03competition, but those eyeballs are out
  175. 5:05there, and they need to find out about
  176. 5:06your stuff. All right, if you like this
  177. 5:08video and you're a business owner who
  178. 5:09wants to break through your current
  179. 5:10revenue ceiling, I distilled every
  180. 5:11lesson from scaling 10 businesses past
  181. 5:1310 million, and three businesses past
  182. 5:15100 million, into a completely free
  183. 5:16scaling road map that I've used to go
  184. 5:18from zero to one, zero to 10, and zero
  185. 5:20to 100 plus. And so you can click here
  186. 5:22and you can check it out. Again,
  187. 5:23absolutely free, and since you're a
  188. 5:24business owner, I appreciate you, and
  189. 5:26enjoy.
