- 0:00Today I'd like to talk about repetition.
- 0:03There's a scientist named Robert Milikin
- 0:06who learned the power of repetition by
- 0:08doing an extreme example of affirming
- 0:11that I'd like to tell you about. Cool
- 0:13story. Milikin's father was a traveling
- 0:16minister when he was a boy and there was
- 0:18never enough money for the family. He
- 0:20learned by living in poverty that he was
- 0:22tired of being poor and decided to
- 0:24change that. So he locked himself in a
- 0:27room for 16 straight hours and he
- 0:30affirmed over and over again, "I have a
- 0:33lavish, steady, dependable income
- 0:36consistent with integrity and mutual
- 0:39benefit." Dr. Milikin wrote his dream of
- 0:43greatness and security in the first
- 0:45person, present tense. He did not say,
- 0:48"I will be great. I will be secure
- 0:50someday in the future." for that would
- 0:52have implied that he was not great and
- 0:54secure right now. Instead, he made his
- 0:58future dream a present fact. The future
- 1:00dream must become a present fact in the
- 1:03mind of the person who seeks to realize
- 1:06that dream. But after Melikin did this,
- 1:08he actually became very wealthy and
- 1:10achieved notoriety as a scientist,
- 1:13winning the Nobel Prize for physics in
- 1:151923.
- 1:16He came from nothing. But the difference
- 1:18is he didn't talk about what he wanted
- 1:21as though it was way out there in the
- 1:23future somewhere like I'm going to have
- 1:25this or I want to have this or I'm
- 1:27trying to manifest this. He said it as
- 1:30if it was so with certainty enough times
- 1:33for his mind to believe that it was
- 1:35true. Be what you wish to be right now.
- 1:40Milikin gave it enough time for his mind
- 1:42to infiltrate itself with this one
- 1:45singular thought long enough until it
- 1:47became so. It became his new truth.
- 1:50Maybe you and I don't have 16 hours to
- 1:52lock ourselves away for this long. Most
- 1:55of us don't. But it does beg this
- 1:57question about affirming a new belief
- 1:59for your life. Does it have to be hard?
- 2:02Does it have to be conscious? Do I have
- 2:05to think so hard?
- 2:07No, that doesn't have to be so hard.
- 2:10Now, while it's true that repetition is
- 2:12the way to change, how that repetition
- 2:15happens is entirely up to you. You need
- 2:18to only impress upon or trick your own
- 2:21subconscious mind into believing that it
- 2:24is true. It doesn't matter if you get
- 2:26repetition through awake techniques like
- 2:29writing, scripting, meditation, or
- 2:32visualization, or if you choose to use
- 2:35subliminals or hypnosis, sleep
- 2:37meditations, or other methods that don't
- 2:40require conscious awareness during the
- 2:42practice of change. You see, if you feel
- 2:45better, speaking your affirmation out
- 2:47loud, creating a vision board, putting
- 2:50Post-it notes on your mirror, and saying
- 2:52it every day, all of these methods make
- 2:54impressions upon change on your
- 2:56subconscious mind. What really matters
- 2:59is that you feed your mind with the new
- 3:01character that you'd like to become or
- 3:03the new thing that you'd like to achieve
- 3:06or things that you'd like to overcome
- 3:08like poverty thinking, negative
- 3:10thinking, self-limiting or
- 3:12self-sabotaging thoughts that you've
- 3:15lived with maybe all your life that
- 3:16you're tired of that you might now want
- 3:18to change. And it doesn't matter how old
- 3:20you are. This leads me to a tip that I
- 3:23think will help you actually get into
- 3:25that feeling state that what you desire
- 3:28is already here. Now, try asking
- 3:31yourself a few questions and then allow
- 3:33yourself time to answer them
- 3:35thoughtfully and thoroughly. Like this
- 3:38question, what would I be like if I had
- 3:41it all? Who would I be now? Who would be
- 3:45around me? What will I be doing? How
- 3:48would I change my life? Who would I have
- 3:52in my life? And most importantly, how
- 3:54would I feel if I already manifested
- 3:58that which I desire? So, you don't have
- 4:01to do what Milicanin did because today
- 4:04we have all sorts of technology and
- 4:06methods to help us with change that
- 4:08didn't exist in the early 1900s. The
- 4:11idea is that once you've imprinted this
- 4:13thing enough times that it is a new
- 4:15habit deep inside of your mind, you
- 4:18manifest immediately. That is the point
- 4:20of manifestation, cocreation, creating
- 4:23your dreams and goals or even changing a
- 4:26habit. After a lifetime of bad choices,
- 4:29everything can be changed with a shift
- 4:31in mindset. When you do believe that it
- 4:35is so, that it is reality, that every
- 4:37part of you just knows it to be true,
- 4:39that's when it happens. That thing
- 4:42you've been affirming, it manifests.
- 4:44It's created. It happens. You claim it
- 4:47almost as though it happened in an
- 4:49instant. Whether you're working on
- 4:52losing weight or improving your health
- 4:54or your financial situation or
- 4:56relationship, manifesting a new home or
- 4:59seeking your life purpose after the age
- 5:01of 50 or 60 or 70. You can have all of
- 5:05this and more with the power of your
- 5:06mind. It's really about what you're
- 5:08willing to do or not willing to do. When
- 5:11you just stick with it long enough,
- 5:13affirming over and over until you no
- 5:15longer have to try to convince yourself
- 5:17you will achieve it. almost like magic.
- 5:21And it is true that most people don't
- 5:23want to work hard on improving
- 5:24themselves, especially after the age of
- 5:2650. But that's not how I want to live
- 5:28because I'm never satisfied just
- 5:30accepting that I'm already all that I
- 5:32can be right now. Learning is a
- 5:34neverending process. And growing is a
- 5:36lifetime affair for those who view it
- 5:38that way. Stagnation is what makes
- 5:41people unhappy. In my opinion, it's like
- 5:44Maslo's hierarchy. We're born here to
- 5:46try to self-actualize. It's the human
- 5:49mind that ultimately determines how
- 5:52willing you are to change or how stuck
- 5:55you're going to stay into old thinking
- 5:57that might no longer serve your life.
- 6:00It's never too late. I hope this helps

- 6:21this week. Get out there and see what
- 6:24change you decide you're going to make
- 6:26and get after it. I'll see you in the
- 6:28next episode.
