  1. 0:05Hello and welcome to day one of
  2. 0:08Lifebook's 30-day challenge. I'm so
  3. 0:10happy to have you here with me today. My
  4. 0:12name is Jon Butcher and I'm founder of
  5. 0:14Lifebook and I'm going to be your guide
  6. 0:16on this fascinating, life-changing
  7. 0:19journey.
  8. 0:20What we're going to explore over the
  9. 0:21next 30 days is an incredibly
  10. 0:23fascinating subject. Having it all.
  11. 0:26Getting everything you want out of life.
  12. 0:29Now, this is a subject that I've studied
  13. 0:30for decades now, literally. I've worked
  14. 0:32with thousands and thousands of people.
  15. 0:34I've dedicated myself to understanding
  16. 0:37everything I possibly can about the
  17. 0:38subject. It's actually become my purpose
  18. 0:40in life. And at Lifebook, we've made a
  19. 0:42science of it. It's a goal that I've
  20. 0:45achieved in my own life and I've helped
  21. 0:47many, many people achieve it in their
  22. 0:49lives.
  23. 0:50I want to make one thing clear at the
  24. 0:52very outset and that is that this
  25. 0:55challenge is for people who are serious
  26. 0:57about getting what they want out of
  27. 0:59life. Not just thinking about it or
  28. 1:01talking about it as so many people are,
  29. 1:03but actually discovering what it entails
  30. 1:07and doing what is required to achieve
  31. 1:09it. So, I'm going to assume that you are
  32. 1:12one of those people and I'm going to
  33. 1:13talk to you as if you were with no
  34. 1:16sugarcoating and no BS. No total honesty
  35. 1:19and total transparency. Every word I'm
  36. 1:21going to say to you over the next 30
  37. 1:22days is going to be precise, very well
  38. 1:25thought through and important for your
  39. 1:28progress.
  40. 1:29I'm going to lay it all right on the
  41. 1:31line. We're going to talk about the most
  42. 1:32important principles in the most
  43. 1:35important area of your life so that you
  44. 1:37can just go out there and really gain
  45. 1:39momentum.
  46. 1:41We're going to look deeply at what
  47. 1:43having it all means, what having it all
  48. 1:45looks like and what's required to make
  49. 1:48it happen. We're going to share secrets
  50. 1:50with you over this 30-day course. We're
  51. 1:52going to share best practices in every
  52. 1:55core area of your life.
  53. 1:57And we're going to explore how to
  54. 1:58eliminate the obstacles that are holding
  55. 2:00you back in these categories and keeping
  56. 2:02you frustrated and stuck.
  57. 2:05And then finally, we're going to share
  58. 2:07powerful exercises with you that are
  59. 2:09really going to help you move the needle
  60. 2:11immediately in all the areas of your
  61. 2:14life simultaneously.
  62. 2:16Our purpose in creating this 30-day
  63. 2:18challenge was simple. By the end of it,
  64. 2:21we want you to have made measurable
  65. 2:23progress across every important area of
  66. 2:25your life, which is a big deal because
  67. 2:27you will have proven to yourself that
  68. 2:29it's actually possible for you to create
  69. 2:31an extraordinary life. And from there,
  70. 2:33you're going to know exactly what you
  71. 2:35need to do to make it happen. We've
  72. 2:36worked with a lot of people over the
  73. 2:37years, a lot of people, and at the end
  74. 2:39of the day, most people who begin a
  75. 2:41personal development journey like this
  76. 2:43want pretty much the same thing. I mean,
  77. 2:45small details are going to vary, but the
  78. 2:48fundamental vision seems just about the
  79. 2:50same for everyone.
  80. 2:53What we want is an extraordinary life
  81. 2:56that works at a high level
  82. 2:58in every important area. Now, at
  83. 3:01Lifebook, our main objective is to help
  84. 3:04people figure out their own personal
  85. 3:07life vision, that big, clear, compelling
  86. 3:10picture of what they want to have their
  87. 3:11life be like. And then help them start
  88. 3:14to create that ideal life step by step.
  89. 3:18Every life vision that is created is
  90. 3:20going to be unique to the individual who
  91. 3:21created it. No two are the same, but
  92. 3:24they all seem to have one really, really
  93. 3:26important thing in common. And that is
  94. 3:29that every well-crafted life vision I've
  95. 3:32ever seen entails sort of having crossed
  96. 3:36a threshold to an extraordinary life
  97. 3:39where the heavy lifting has been done.
  98. 3:41You know, all that's behind you. The
  99. 3:43urgency is gone. The stress is gone.
  100. 3:46You've sort of hit this tipping point
  101. 3:48where you've got your life figured out
  102. 3:49at a really deep level. You've thought
  103. 3:51it through. You've set it up. And
  104. 3:53there's almost this automatic quality to
  105. 3:55it. You know, you've got systems and
  106. 3:57processes in place. And you're enjoying
  107. 4:00your life without this daily immense
  108. 4:03energy output that's draining and
  109. 4:06overwhelming and exhausting.
  110. 4:09In this world that you want to get to,
  111. 4:12stress has been replaced with
  112. 4:14fulfillment.
  113. 4:16Urgency has been replaced with a little
  114. 4:18bit of leisure time, you know, a little
  115. 4:20bit of bandwidth. How many people do you
  116. 4:22see around you living like that, you
  117. 4:23know? It's rare. At the end of the day,
  118. 4:26based on our experience with thousands
  119. 4:28of people,
  120. 4:29that is pretty much what every conscious
  121. 4:33thinking person seems to want. But
  122. 4:36unfortunately,
  123. 4:38almost no one achieves a life like this,
  124. 4:40and most people never will. As a matter
  125. 4:42of fact, what most of us get is the
  126. 4:44opposite of that experience. No leisure
  127. 4:46time. No bandwidth. We're at maximum
  128. 4:49tension everywhere in our life.
  129. 4:52Let's admit it. Most of us are
  130. 4:54overwhelmed and exhausted. We're just on
  131. 4:57the treadmill of our lives, too busy to
  132. 5:00just sit down for a moment and really
  133. 5:03think about what our happiness requires.
  134. 5:06We know that so much more is possible
  135. 5:08for us, but we can't quite put our
  136. 5:11finger on how to get it.
  137. 5:14And we work so hard,
  138. 5:16but we just kind of spin our wheels, and
  139. 5:18we don't seem to get any closer to the
  140. 5:20life that we really want to be living.
  141. 5:23And when you're in that mode,
  142. 5:26you can't even allow yourself to feel
  143. 5:29how disappointed you are in certain
  144. 5:31aspects of your life, maybe in your
  145. 5:33marriage, or in your level of health and
  146. 5:35fitness, or how unfulfilled you are in
  147. 5:38your career,
  148. 5:39or how sick and tired we are of being
  149. 5:41broke and having to worry about money
  150. 5:43all the time. Deep down, we all want so
  151. 5:46much more than we have, but we can't
  152. 5:48even afford to have thoughts like that.
  153. 5:50You know, we have to kind of push those
  154. 5:51feelings down just to make it through
  155. 5:54the day.
  156. 5:55And I'll tell you what, that's a
  157. 5:56tragedy. It's a tragedy because this is
  158. 5:58our one life. This is our one precious
  159. 6:01life that we've been given to live to
  160. 6:03the fullest. And it's incredibly painful
  161. 6:07when you know that you're not doing
  162. 6:08that. And I'll tell you from personal
  163. 6:10experience in working with so many
  164. 6:12people, I've seen this over and over and
  165. 6:14over again. This can be especially
  166. 6:16frustrating and especially maddening
  167. 6:19when you know, you feel like you've
  168. 6:20followed all of society's rules. You did
  169. 6:22everything that was expected of you. You
  170. 6:24know, you went to school, you studied
  171. 6:26hard, you got good grades, you got your
  172. 6:28degree, you got married, you started a
  173. 6:30family, you bought your house. You did
  174. 6:32everything that society says that you're
  175. 6:34supposed to do. You followed the whole
  176. 6:36formula. So, why don't you feel
  177. 6:40outrageously successful right now when
  178. 6:43you did everything right, you know? Why
  179. 6:45are you overworked? Why are you
  180. 6:46overstressed? Why are you unfulfilled?
  181. 6:49Why don't you have it all if you did
  182. 6:50everything you were supposed to do?
  183. 6:53And here's the reason. The reason is
  184. 6:55because the formula doesn't work. The
  185. 6:58formula doesn't work. The system isn't
  186. 7:01designed to produce success and
  187. 7:03happiness and fulfillment. It's designed
  188. 7:06to produce mediocrity and it leads to
  189. 7:08failure and frustration.
  190. 7:12Here's something that you really need to
  191. 7:13know. This will really, really help. It
  192. 7:15helped me when I was first struggling
  193. 7:17with these with these areas. There's
  194. 7:19nothing wrong with you. You're not to
  195. 7:22blame for the fact that you've been
  196. 7:23struggling in these categories and your
  197. 7:25parents aren't to blame because they
  198. 7:26didn't teach it to you. It's not their
  199. 7:28fault and it's not some big conspiracy
  200. 7:31theory either. The fact is that people
  201. 7:33just don't know how to do it. They just
  202. 7:36don't know how to put together a
  203. 7:38spectacular life. They They know how to
  204. 7:40have it all. They're too busy in
  205. 7:42survival mode to take the time to figure
  206. 7:45out and learn how to thrive in every
  207. 7:48important area of your life because the
  208. 7:50world is a crazy chaotic place. It's
  209. 7:53nuts out there. There's so much
  210. 7:54instability. There's so much turbulence.
  211. 7:57There are so many different things
  212. 7:59pulling us in different directions, so
  213. 8:01many demands on our time and on our
  214. 8:03energy. Life can just be overwhelming
  215. 8:05and exhausting.
  216. 8:06We don't have time to sit down and
  217. 8:08figure out how to navigate through all
  218. 8:09this craziness and get to that ideal
  219. 8:12life.
  220. 8:13I mean,
  221. 8:15how can I be expected to really figure
  222. 8:18out how to find success and happiness
  223. 8:20and balance and fulfillment when I'm so
  224. 8:24busy trying to make this month's house
  225. 8:26payment?
  226. 8:28That's why it's so rare that you're ever
  227. 8:30going to see a person who has it all.
  228. 8:33And when you do, you should pay
  229. 8:34attention because you can know you are
  230. 8:37looking at an accomplishment.
  231. 8:40It's not an easy task to put together a
  232. 8:42stellar life in every important area.
  233. 8:44But I'll tell you this, it is possible.
  234. 8:46And this is a fact that we've proven
  235. 8:48over and over again at Lifebook. The
  236. 8:50skills that are required to
  237. 8:52simultaneously
  238. 8:53have great physical and emotional and
  239. 8:57intellectual and spiritual health,
  240. 9:00a great love relationship, to be a
  241. 9:02fantastic parent, to have quality
  242. 9:04friendships, to build a great career
  243. 9:07that leads to financial abundance, and
  244. 9:09be surrounded by fantastic things and
  245. 9:12create great experiences for yourself,
  246. 9:14to develop all those skills
  247. 9:16simultaneously
  248. 9:18is almost unheard of, it almost never
  249. 9:21happens, but it absolutely is possible
  250. 9:25and it absolutely can happen for you.
  251. 9:29I'm telling you right now,
  252. 9:31a life like that is there for you, not
  253. 9:34just for some of of chosen few who have
  254. 9:36special abilities, it's there for you.
  255. 9:39There's a system for doing it,
  256. 9:41and you're going to see that by the end
  257. 9:42of this 30-day challenge, and it's going
  258. 9:44to make sense to you, and you're going
  259. 9:45to absolutely understand that having it
  260. 9:48all is a serious possibility for you. It
  261. 9:51is within your grasp.
  262. 9:54That is the main objective that we have
  263. 9:56for you for this 30-day challenge.
  264. 10:00See, most people think that having an
  265. 10:03extraordinary life is simply not
  266. 10:05realistic. It's either impossible, you
  267. 10:08know, some sort of a fantasy or a pipe
  268. 10:10dream,
  269. 10:11or even if it was possible, I'm just not
  270. 10:13going to be able to get it done because
  271. 10:14it's going to be too much work for me.
  272. 10:15I'm not going to be able to execute.
  273. 10:17So, we're going to show you over the
  274. 10:19next 30 days just how easy it is to
  275. 10:22start making significant progress toward
  276. 10:24your ideal life once you shift into the
  277. 10:27right mindset and start building
  278. 10:29momentum, you will move closer to having
  279. 10:32it all. All you've got to do is watch a
  280. 10:35short video every day over the next 30
  281. 10:37days and then do the exercises we ask
  282. 10:40you to do, and at the end of the 30
  283. 10:42days, you're not only going to be living
  284. 10:44a different life than you are right now,
  285. 10:46a better life,
  286. 10:48but you're going to know with certainty
  287. 10:50that having it all is possible for you,
  288. 10:52and that's the big win. You're going to
  289. 10:54know with certainty that your dream life
  290. 10:56can be won if you're willing to fight
  291. 10:59for it. If you discover specifically
  292. 11:03what your happiness and your unique
  293. 11:05fulfillment require, and then focus on
  294. 11:08it single-mindedly,
  295. 11:10you can wrap your mind around this crazy
  296. 11:13thing called life,
  297. 11:15and you can have it all.
  298. 11:17Listen, the question is not whether or
  299. 11:19not you can achieve the life you've
  300. 11:22always wanted to live. It's whether or
  301. 11:24not you will.
  302. 11:25And that is a decision.
  303. 11:28When it comes to this challenge really
  304. 11:30working for you, really helping you
  305. 11:32create the extraordinary life that you
  306. 11:33want to be living? Your biggest concern
  307. 11:35should not be your intelligence, it
  308. 11:37should not be your ability, or even your
  309. 11:40ambition.
  310. 11:41It's your commitment. You are the only
  311. 11:44person that can really absorb the
  312. 11:47information that you're going to be
  313. 11:48learning here and then implement the
  314. 11:50exercises into your life. We can show
  315. 11:52you how to do it, but we obviously can't
  316. 11:54do it for you. Now, we're going to be
  317. 11:56here to support you every step of the
  318. 11:58way. We're going to be here to
  319. 11:59supercharge your efforts, but you are
  320. 12:02the only person who can make this work.
  321. 12:05This 30-day challenge is about the
  322. 12:07exercises. It is a doing program. The
  323. 12:11exercises build on each other every
  324. 12:13single day that you do them, and the
  325. 12:15momentum that you create from doing them
  326. 12:17over and over and over is the catalyst.
  327. 12:20That's sort of like the active
  328. 12:21ingredient that really moves the needle
  329. 12:23here. I'm going to be perfectly honest
  330. 12:25with you right now. There's no point in
  331. 12:28even doing this 30-day challenge if
  332. 12:30you're not going to do the exercises.
  333. 12:32I want to say that again. No point in
  334. 12:34doing the challenge if you're not
  335. 12:36planning to if you're not committed to
  336. 12:38doing the exercises. You're going to get
  337. 12:40some good information, you know, you'll
  338. 12:42get some good knowledge, but I promise
  339. 12:44you, you won't get the benefit that you
  340. 12:46signed up for.
  341. 12:48And your commitment is the key to
  342. 12:51getting that benefit. And we figure that
  343. 12:53your commitment's going to be about 20
  344. 12:55to 30 minutes a day. You got to log in
  345. 12:57every day and watch the video. Video's
  346. 13:00about 15 minutes, and then you just set
  347. 13:02aside another 10 or 15 minutes to do the
  348. 13:05exercises on days when we ask you to do
  349. 13:07exercises.
  350. 13:09And remember, these exercises are about
  351. 13:12your life. They're not about my life or
  352. 13:13anybody else's life. They're about your
  353. 13:15life, and they're awesome.
  354. 13:16Your success with this challenge is
  355. 13:19going to come down to the quality of
  356. 13:20your commitment to doing these
  357. 13:22exercises, and I think you're going to
  358. 13:23be excited about it cuz you're going to
  359. 13:25be seeing your life move forward.
  360. 13:27So, from this day forward, you just got
  361. 13:29to commit a few minutes a day to
  362. 13:31complete the exercises, watch the
  363. 13:33videos, and it's going to be well worth
  364. 13:36it because it's going to be powerful for
  365. 13:37you.
  366. 13:39So, that being said, let's move on to
  367. 13:41the first exercise of our 30-day
  368. 13:43challenge.
  369. 13:45Today, we're going to have you commit
  370. 13:47the time you need to do this 30-day
  371. 13:49challenge, and then we're going to have
  372. 13:51you find the time in your day for that
  373. 13:53commitment by creating what we call a
  374. 13:56stop doing list. Now, this exercise is a
  375. 14:00classic Lifebook exercise. It's super
  376. 14:03enlightening, it's really empowering,
  377. 14:05and it's fun.
  378. 14:07So, here's how it works.
  379. 14:09Step one is we want you to commit the
  380. 14:11time.
  381. 14:13Thomas Edison, arguably one of the
  382. 14:15busiest guys who's ever lived, said,
  383. 14:18"There is time enough for everything."
  384. 14:20And this is from a guy that was awarded
  385. 14:22over a thousand patents by the US Patent
  386. 14:25Office. He was busy, and he said, "There
  387. 14:27is time enough for everything."
  388. 14:30The time commitment that this challenge
  389. 14:32requires is about 20 to 30 minutes a day
  390. 14:35total. Videos are about 15 minutes,
  391. 14:38exercises are about 15 minutes. They
  392. 14:39vary, but that's that's about it. So,
  393. 14:41step one of today's exercise is to
  394. 14:44decide when you're going to do the work,
  395. 14:47when you're going to commit that 20 to
  396. 14:4830 minutes of time every day, and while
  397. 14:50you're at it, we want you to decide
  398. 14:52where you're going to do these
  399. 14:53exercises, too.
  400. 14:55Is there a secluded place that you can
  401. 14:56go where you can just completely get
  402. 14:58away from the world, and so this is like
  403. 15:00sacred time to do this work? Like maybe
  404. 15:03you're going to go solo to a coffee shop
  405. 15:05and have a date with you and your 30-day
  406. 15:07challenge. Or maybe you can go into your
  407. 15:10office and lock the door and take the
  408. 15:11phone off the hook and whatever, just
  409. 15:13completely disconnect from the world.
  410. 15:15Decide when you're going to do them
  411. 15:17every day, decide where you're going to
  412. 15:19do this program. Your commitment to
  413. 15:21yourself should look something like
  414. 15:23this.
  415. 15:24I'm absolutely committed to spending 20
  416. 15:27minutes per day on the Lifebook
  417. 15:29Challenge for the next 30 days, period.
  418. 15:32The time I'm going to allot is from 7:00
  419. 15:34in the morning to 7:30 in the morning
  420. 15:37every day alone in my office without my
  421. 15:40cell phone to bother me.
  422. 15:42That's kind of how your commitment
  423. 15:43should look. Be very specific about it.
  424. 15:46Next, we're going to have you do
  425. 15:47something really awesome. This is so
  426. 15:49powerful. I've done this probably five
  427. 15:51or six times in my life and it's
  428. 15:52incredibly effective. We want you to
  429. 15:54create a stop doing list.
  430. 15:58Because we want you to pick up at least
  431. 16:00a half hour a day to do this program, if
  432. 16:02not more time we want to free up in your
  433. 16:04week. So, here's how you do it.
  434. 16:07Take a look at how you spend your time
  435. 16:08in a typical week. Really be honest with
  436. 16:11yourself cuz you're probably not going
  437. 16:12to like some of what you see. Bring some
  438. 16:14awareness to your daily activities. And
  439. 16:18what you want to do is you want to
  440. 16:19assess whether or not these daily
  441. 16:21activities are pushing your life
  442. 16:23forward.
  443. 16:24So, what you want to ask yourself is
  444. 16:25this.
  445. 16:26What can I get rid of? How can I pick up
  446. 16:29at least a half hour a day of extra free
  447. 16:32time? Can I cut out a half hour of email
  448. 16:35a day?
  449. 16:37Maybe a half hour of TV? Some computer
  450. 16:39time? So, your stop doing list might
  451. 16:42look something like this.
  452. 16:44I will stop hitting the snooze button
  453. 16:47four times every morning.
  454. 16:49I will stop checking my email 20 times a
  455. 16:52day and instead I'm going to be
  456. 16:55disciplined and check it three times a
  457. 16:57day.
  458. 16:58I will stop being distracted by social
  459. 17:01media when I'm supposed to be working.
  460. 17:03I'm just not going to go on those sites
  461. 17:05anymore during business hours.
  462. 17:08Creating your stop doing list could be
  463. 17:11one of the most freeing, empowering
  464. 17:13things that you have ever done. I think
  465. 17:16it's going to be. It's going to open up
  466. 17:17time for you to work on yourself and
  467. 17:20your life during the course of this
  468. 17:22challenge and that's valuable.
  469. 17:25And you know what? While you're at it,
  470. 17:27why not cut out like a full hour a day
  471. 17:30of unimportant stuff so you can have a
  472. 17:31half hour for this challenge and a half
  473. 17:33hour just for you to do whatever you
  474. 17:36want with as our gift. Carl Sandburg
  475. 17:39said, "Time is the coin of life. It's
  476. 17:43the only coin you have and only you can
  477. 17:46determine how it will be spent."
  478. 17:49So, that's your mission for today.
  479. 17:51Commit the time and find the time to do
  480. 17:55this 30-day challenge.
  481. 17:57So, as soon as this video is complete,
  482. 17:59get into tribe and post your commitment
  483. 18:02to the community, which is going to help
  484. 18:03you sort of wrap accountability around
  485. 18:05this goal and give you some support cuz
  486. 18:08everyone's going to be there for you.
  487. 18:10So, that's it for day one. Thank you so
  488. 18:12much for watching. Do your exercise at a
  489. 18:15really high level and I'll see you
  490. 18:17tomorrow as we explore the 12 most
  491. 18:20important categories of your life.
