- 0:00Okay, ah, we have the camera, we have
- 0:02the sound. Listen, let's agree right
- 0:05away, are you for us or for them, or
- 0:07for S
- 0:08>> for Donbass? What is this? What do you
- 0:10mean, because of us, because of them?
- 0:11>> Well, here's Changan, hawala. What
- 0:13religion do you follow?
- 0:15>> BMW.
- 0:17>> Well, first of all, first of all, no,
- 0:19first of all, Porsche. Okay,
- 0:21>> then today I'll go on to
- 0:22>> BMW, Volkswagen, and then on about that
- 0:24whole case. What is this? What do you
- 0:25mean? What are you doing? What the?
- 0:28Well, I'll do this right away, you know
- 0:29, so as not to see you as a defender of
- 0:31the Chinese. Have
- 0:32>> you ever heard him defend the Chinese?
- 0:35>> Well, you never know, you never know
- 0:36how much you hid
- 0:37>> from Thailand when you came back. Your
- 0:38world could have turned upside down.
- 0:40Everything is stable here.
- 0:41>> No, I hid the M6 and will continue to
- 0:44praise it, because, well, that's normal
- 0:47,
- 0:47>> right? They didn't screw you over,
- 0:48Nikita, they didn't screw you over. You
- 0:51see,, how my pants are torn, see?
- 0:55Short, see? We do full dismantlings
- 0:58when you, well, accumulate some
- 1:00information on the matter, when we have
- 1:02experience with autoregmat, when we've
- 1:04driven around, seen what happens to
- 1:06cars after 3-4 years, and we're simply
- 1:08reporting on it. People say sternly
- 1:11about me: "Well, it doesn't really
- 1:12matter what people buy, it's their life
- 1:14, their money, and they'll be driving
- 1:16it." In all full dismantlings, we
- 1:18always maintain a maximally neutral
- 1:19position, that simply, look, this is
- 1:21what happens, this costs this much,
- 1:23this much. Well, in our opinion, it's
- 1:26better to look at this, this, or you
- 1:28can buy it, but everyone is, quite
- 1:29rightly, free to decide for themselves.
- 1:32Absolutely calm. Okay,
- 1:33>> understood. Then I'll keep quiet today
- 1:35and listen.
- 1:37>> Good afternoon. To be fair, this video
- 1:50has been a long time coming, even after
- 1:52we recorded full dissections of Cherry
- 1:53and Geely, that we'd dissected these
- 1:55Chinese cars, yes, we talked about
- 1:57engines, platforms, and so on. And
- 2:00where's Hoval? And where's Shangan?
- 2:03It's a Bullet rocket. A Bullet rocket.
- 2:05On Instagram, they're constantly
- 2:07punishing Audi, with all the chips and
- 2:09all that. You've seen those, well,
- 2:11correction videos, where guys with
- 2:13Shangans and staged cars are trying to
- 2:14get away from anyone. And Hoval has
- 2:17been produced here for how long? The
- 2:19plant has been shut down since 2019,
- 2:21churning out Hovals, everyone's buying
- 2:23them, and so on. It's a very popular
- 2:25brand in our country, second only to
- 2:27AvtoVAZ. And we really need to figure
- 2:29out whether it's alive or not, and how
- 2:31it's used, because we definitely have
- 2:33some data. And so today we'll continue
- 2:37to explore this wonderful lore, because
- 2:38, yes, indeed, well, specifically with
- 2:39Howalls and Chengans, there are already
- 2:41some statistics that can be discussed.
- 2:44These cars left the factories, some
- 2:46came to us from China, and some
- 2:48gathered here. People used them. These
- 2:51cars have been driven, and now they're
- 2:53happily arriving at the used market,
- 2:54and we're sitting there like hyenas,
- 2:55watching very carefully. And what's
- 2:58left of them? What's the bodywork,
- 3:00what's the engine, how much it all
- 3:01costs, how much people have lost. And
- 3:03so, well, we'll talk about all of this
- 3:05today. This is immediately evident from
- 3:07our data from the auto industry
- 3:08regarding all Chinese cars. In general,
- 3:10well, obviously, demand for them in the
- 3:12used market is growing. People are
- 3:15gradually starting to show interest
- 3:17because these cars actually exist, and
- 3:18they're significantly cheaper than, say
- 3:20, Japanese, Korean, and certainly
- 3:22German cars. But demand is growing
- 3:26disproportionately, if we take our data
- 3:28specifically, where we can see a person
- 3:30with money, wanting a car, having an
- 3:32idea, we find one for them, they buy it
- 3:34, and now they're driving it. Demand is
- 3:38only growing noticeably for two brands:
- 3:40Geely and Khoval. Chingan is much less
- 3:42common. Really, much less common. It's
- 3:45more of a topic for Kazakhstan and the
- 3:46southern regions of our country. And
- 3:49the Cherry Zoo, all those sub-brands,
- 3:52like, whatever they have, Chryry, Joura
- 3:55,
- 3:58>> Net. Well, that's our assembly, but it
- 4:00doesn't matter. In short, all these
- 4:02Cherry sub-products, there's no demand
- 4:04at all. Their huge volumes are mainly
- 4:06purchased from taxi companies, for
- 4:08commercial use. But for some reason,
- 4:10people don't really like these cars on
- 4:11the used market. If we're talking about
- 4:13regional differences, then Hoval is
- 4:15incredibly popular in the regions.
- 4:17Really, really, really popular. Azhili
- 4:20is more of a big-city car. And on the
- 4:22used market, they're considered, well,
- 4:24like a Manjara. Like in Moscow, in St.
- 4:26Petersburg, it's much less common in
- 4:28the regions. So, we'll start with the
- 4:30fact that Hoval is more popular here
- 4:32than Chengan. And to understand the
- 4:35essence of this brand, we need to step
- 4:37back a bit. You have to understand that
- 4:39Hoval isn't an independent company. I
- 4:40mean, it didn't just pop up like, say,
- 4:43Ford, Mercedes, Opel, or AvtoVAZ. Hoval
- 4:46is simply a part of a larger company
- 4:49called Great Wall Motors or Great Wall
- 4:52Motor. Buy it on AliExpress. In short,
- 4:55Great Wall Motors. Motor. What I really
- 4:58, really like is that, well, in
- 4:59Traditional Chinese the company name is
- 5:02written like this, and in Simplified
- 5:04Chinese it's written like this. Just in
- 5:06case, I don't see any difference either
- 5:07. It's like, these are hieroglyphs,
- 5:09these are hieroglyphs, but for some
- 5:11reason these hieroglyphs are more
- 5:12complicated than these hieroglyphs.
- 5:20Yeah, Dan, are
- 5:21>> you ready yet?
- 5:22>> Not yet.
- 5:23>> And don't forget to give the guys the
- 5:24audio after recording. You have two new
- 5:26flash drives there. You need to give me
- 5:28the one with one written on it. Just
- 5:30don't mix them up and don't forget.
- 5:32>> No problem.
- 5:33>> Thanks. Bye.
- 5:34>> Yeah. Okay.
- 5:40>> Khoval. Okay, so, hi everyone. Today we
- 5:44have the long-awaited video on the
- 5:46topic of "bye everyone." Okay, I
- 5:55remember the sound about the two flash
- 5:59drives, but which one specifically I
- 6:02needed to get. Okay, I'll take a look
- 6:05now. By the way, you can also look at
- 6:07your call recordings if you forgot
- 6:09anything. MTS's intelligent call
- 6:12recording works on any phone, across
- 6:13all carriers, and the recording doesn't
- 6:15take up any space on your phone and is
- 6:17stored in the MTS cloud for three
- 6:18months, just in case. You can access
- 6:21the full call transcript at any time,
- 6:23either in text or audio, whichever you
- 6:25prefer. And if you don't want to reread
- 6:27the entire conversation, the AI has
- 6:29already prepared a summary of the
- 6:31conversation with key agreements. Oh, I
- 6:32found it. I should have given up the
- 6:34first flash drive. And without the
- 6:35recording, the whole engine would have
- 6:37been wasted. Take advantage of it too
- 6:39and sign up for MTS's intelligent
- 6:40recording for 30 days free via the link
- 6:42in the description. In short, Great
- 6:47Wall Motor, aka GWM, aka GVM, and they
- 6:49are the same company that has
- 6:51captivated us all for 20 years now, and
- 6:54we will definitely all drive them.
- 6:56Their success so far has been mixed,
- 6:58but still. The company originally
- 7:00started as a small cooperative
- 7:02repairing agricultural machinery, back
- 7:05in the 1970s, in China. It wasn't
- 7:07exactly a large-scale production
- 7:09facility; it was more like a hangar
- 7:10where they repaired, well, agricultural
- 7:12machinery. A few years later, the guys
- 7:15took on a contract to assemble the
- 7:17Beijing PJ212. This particular car is a
- 7:21Chinese knockoff of a Soviet GAZ-69. It
- 7:25has a 451-liter engine, and the
- 7:27suspension is also from a 451-liter
- 7:29engine. And then, in some unspecified
- 7:31quantities, it was assembled in China.
- 7:33There's no exact data. But in any case,
- 7:35these guys were simply modifying Soviet
- 7:37cars. They tried to make crossovers and
- 7:40some regular civilian vehicles on the
- 7:43GAZ-69 chassis. For example, there's
- 7:45something called the CC6490. That, by
- 7:50the way, was based on the GAZ-69. And
- 7:52they were making things like this until
- 7:53about the 1990s. And then, naturally,
- 7:55they started assembling cars similar to
- 7:58Japanese ones. Because the Japanese
- 7:59were tearing the world apart with their
- 8:01cars back then. They were actively
- 8:02conquering the entire planet. And so
- 8:05they tried to build some cars based on
- 8:07older cars, while others were also
- 8:09their creations based on Japanese cars.
- 8:11Well, like this CC 6470. Naturally, you
- 8:14have to understand that all this was a
- 8:16semi-artisanal production without any
- 8:18large production runs. And back then,
- 8:20this was a commonplace in the Chinese
- 8:22auto industry, because, well, no one
- 8:23had large production runs in China in
- 8:25general to begin with. But Great Wall
- 8:27—especially, because you have to
- 8:29understand that all the cars from that
- 8:31era were utter crap that simply didn't
- 8:33survive into the modern world, because
- 8:35they were all made of very low-quality
- 8:37metal, with archaic designs, and it's
- 8:39unclear how they were assembled, and
- 8:41it's unclear how they even drove. And
- 8:44then there are cars that are simply
- 8:45cheap, simply inferior, but at the same
- 8:47time, that balance between cheap and
- 8:49poor performance is, well, still at
- 8:50some more or less acceptable point, and
- 8:52people buy them. And then there are
- 8:55cars that are cheap, but completely
- 8:56crap. That was the great stuff of the
- 8:591990s. But then again, you have to
- 9:01understand what China was like back
- 9:03then, because it wasn't like ours now,
- 9:04the world's number one economy, the
- 9:05most developed cities on the planet,
- 9:07blah-blah-blah. No, no, no. It's you, a
- 9:10big crowd of Chinese, sitting in
- 9:12and poverty in a rice field, and the
- 9:14whole country is working tirelessly to
- 9:16somehow pull itself out of the abyss.
- 9:19So, it's clear that these trendy
- 9:21crossovers—even from Greatwall—were
- 9:23of no use to anyone, even though they
- 9:25were initially intended with a certain
- 9:27flair, like they were a bit
- 9:28Rolls-Royce-esque: we'll even add some
- 9:30options, do something else—who cares.
- 9:33And so, somewhere around the 1990s,
- 9:35Great Wall looked at where it was. He
- 9:39thought about it, pondered it, and was
- 9:41like, "Let's screw a pickup truck, take
- 9:43a Highux, disassemble it, see how those
- 9:45slant-eyed guys did it, and with our
- 9:47slant-eyed savants, we'll do roughly
- 9:49the same thing, but something of our
- 9:51own." And that's how "wall de"(meaning
- 9:54"deer") came to be. Yeah, they couldn't
- 9:57find a decent translator, apparently. I
- 9:59don't know, Deer. There you go. And the
- 10:01"deer" thing starts selling out. It's
- 10:03starting to become popular in China.
- 10:06Plus, the Deer was, in fact, the first
- 10:08Gytwoll vehicle exported abroad. Where
- 10:10were they exporting pickups,
- 10:12>> right? The Middle East, China, right?
- 10:14And, in short, within a few years, YL
- 10:16became the leading pickup truck
- 10:18manufacturer in China. The Deer, by the
- 10:20way, was even officially supplied to us
- 10:22around the 2000s. They brought
- 10:24something there around 2004, also our
- 10:26Russian Deer. And then, using roughly
- 10:28the same Makar, well,
- 10:29reverse-engineered from Japanese cars,
- 10:32they gave birth to this Great Wover.
- 10:34And they literally assembled it simply
- 10:36from what was available. They took the
- 10:38chassis of an Isuzu MU, the body of an
- 10:40Isuzu Axum, a licensed Mitsubishi
- 10:42engine, and just whatever else they had
- 10:44. They simply took it and put it
- 10:47together, naturally, with Chinese
- 10:48materials. And so it turned out to be
- 10:51really cheap again, but not so bad that
- 10:52it was complete crap, just a little
- 10:54closer. But there was a problem:
- 10:57Hytwall's main brand, I mean, it first
- 10:59gained popularity on pickup trucks, and
- 11:01here we have, well, a regular crossover
- 11:03with a monocoque body. And so, somehow,
- 11:06everyone was too shy, you know, or
- 11:07buying a crossover that has a pickup
- 11:09brand attached to it. So, at first,
- 11:11they started calling all the crossovers
- 11:13"hovers" within the company. Well, just
- 11:14to differentiate it a little, that it's
- 11:16not a pickup truck, it's a Hover. And
- 11:18then Hover was spun off into a separate
- 11:20brand and in 2010 it was renamed Havl.
- 11:23Accordingly, Havl is a subbrand of a
- 11:25larger company that produces
- 11:27body-on-frame crossovers. And the
- 11:29larger company is GR Wall Motor. Hovl
- 11:32first saw significant production in
- 11:352009-2010. This was already the time
- 11:37when it was renamed from Hover to Haval
- 11:39. And then they sold 126,000 cars.
- 11:42That's, well, not a huge number for 41
- 11:44years of operation. I mean, per year.
- 11:47>> So, they existed for 41 years and
- 11:49finally managed to produce 126,000 cars
- 11:51, yes. But then they would experience
- 11:53rapid growth, like all Chinese
- 11:55companies. In 2011, they released the
- 11:57Haval H6. It's a frameless crossover.
- 12:01And so, essentially, the brand's main
- 12:03gimmick is built around this: that
- 12:05these are crossovers, they're frameless
- 12:06, and at the same time they're not
- 12:08exactly budget-friendly, that you still
- 12:10have a hint of sheep there, but at a
- 12:12budget price. And the A6 becomes very
- 12:15successful. In 2016, it sold a million
- 12:19units. I mean, in 2016, the Hover A6
- 12:23alone sold a million units. That's a
- 12:26lot. Few models in the world can
- 12:29produce that much.
- 12:30>> And that's just for the Chinese market
- 12:32alone, a million
- 12:33>> in total. Well, it's not like the Hover
- 12:366 had a huge following, but the bulk of
- 12:38the sales were still in China, of
- 12:40course, but then it spread to South
- 12:42Asia, and to the Middle East, and some
- 12:44of them came to us too. Well, whatever.
- 12:46The most important thing is that this
- 12:47car was the original birthplace of the
- 12:49entire brand. Now this story reminds me
- 12:51of when you were sitting in a village
- 12:53toilet, and there's this somewhere
- 12:55, it's getting closer and closer and
- 12:57closer. And then you're driving it.
- 13:00>> No, no, it's actually modern, well, not
- 13:02completely bad, but the Chinese cars of
- 13:04the 2000s, especially the Hover of the
- 13:062000s, well, they were complete and
- 13:08utter crap. It's better now. Literally
- 13:12before the A6 took off, the brand made
- 13:15a strategic decision: it needed to
- 13:17expand globally. It needed to expand
- 13:20globally somehow, because, well, in
- 13:22China, yes, of course, we have a market
- 13:24there, we can develop there, but we,
- 13:26like any other self-respecting car
- 13:28company, absolutely must have sales
- 13:30everywhere. And there's actually some
- 13:32logic to this, because if you're a
- 13:34budget carmaker making cars in the
- 13:35budget segment, you'll definitely need
- 13:37to think about factories for other
- 13:39countries. You need to think about
- 13:41localizing production within your
- 13:43country, because otherwise, you'll have
- 13:44a logistical burden, and customs will
- 13:46eat up all your margins. You simply
- 13:48won't be able to compete with local
- 13:50carmakers simply because your car will
- 13:51be too expensive just in terms of
- 13:53shipping and customs. And to be fair,
- 13:55the authorities decided this not only
- 13:57with the Hova brand; they also came up
- 13:58with the Way brand, which is supposedly
- 14:00premium. Here's Vй Coffee, just in
- 14:02case you didn't know, the Chinese think
- 14:04it's premium. That's the kind of car it
- 14:06is. They also have the ORA brand. Not
- 14:07Khval, but Great Wall Motor in general.
- 14:10And the ORA brand is responsible for
- 14:11electric trains. It's already a modern
- 14:13division. A tank, uh, with its premium
- 14:15off-road version and this thing that's
- 14:16almost like a Land Cruiser. And,
- 14:18accordingly, the main parent brand is
- 14:19Great Wall Motors Pickup. These guys
- 14:21came to Russia back in 2014. They came
- 14:23as Great Wall. Well, I mean, a
- 14:25subsidiary of JVM Great Wall Motor Rus
- 14:27opened, this company. And that same
- 14:29year, Khval appeared at the Moscow Auto
- 14:31Show. Back then, the tradition of auto
- 14:33shows was still alive: we'd gather in a
- 14:36big crowd, look at cars, show this,
- 14:39show that, and all that. And in 2015,
- 14:41the first official dealership opened,
- 14:44so you could go and buy a Khoval from
- 14:46us—well, the ninth, this one. The
- 14:48guys are proud that by 2017, we'd
- 14:50already managed to open ten car
- 14:52dealerships. But in reality, at that
- 14:55point in 2017, there were 3,500
- 14:57dealerships in our country. So, ten is,
- 15:00well, very strange niche places, let's
- 15:03say. But the most important thing is
- 15:05that, uh, from a business standpoint,
- 15:07for some reason, these guys decided to
- 15:09jump into the abyss. Take 2017. The
- 15:15brand at that time was selling only
- 15:171,800 cars a year. Not per month, but,
- 15:21well, 1,800 per year. That's somewhere
- 15:23around, well, God willing, three cars
- 15:24per country per day, like five cars per
- 15:26country per day somewhere. That's the
- 15:27approximate pace. In 2018, the guys had
- 15:30a crazy volume of 3,200 cars, which is
- 15:34also more or less nothing. And they're
- 15:37like, "We need to bang the plant, we
- 15:39need to launch a really big production
- 15:40facility, we need to pour money
- 15:42into it, essentially, into Russia
- 15:43without any guarantee that everything
- 15:45will be fine, that everything will be
- 15:46alright." We don't have a sales market.
- 15:49People don't like us here, people don't
- 15:51respect us here, we don't have a normal
- 15:53audience, we don't have people who
- 15:54would, you know, buy our cars for
- 15:56generations, like with Toyota, for
- 15:58example, or Mercedes. We see this in
- 16:00our reports. We've been here in the
- 16:01country for far from our first year.
- 16:02We've been trying to sell our cars for
- 16:04four years now. And it's no
- 16:07good. So let's bang the plant. At the
- 16:09time, in 2018, it seemed crazy. Well, I
- 16:12mean, downright crazy. I even remember
- 16:13the news headlines when, in 1919, the
- 16:15news broke that, like, that's it, the
- 16:17Potula plant was opening and would
- 16:18gradually start collecting praise. I'm
- 16:20like, "Well, seriously, guys, this is a
- 16:21really weird thing you're doing,
- 16:23because how are you going to compete
- 16:24with Volkswagen? How are you going to
- 16:26compete with Hyundai? How are you going
- 16:28to compete with Mazda, with Toyota, and
- 16:29with everyone else? Who's been here
- 16:32with the factories for a long time,
- 16:33who's been here with the target
- 16:35audience for a long time, who already
- 16:36has, like, a cozy, comfortable place,
- 16:38and they've been gnawing away at this
- 16:39place for 20 years, and these guys came
- 16:41, essentially, haven't even sold
- 16:42anything, well, like, probably haven't
- 16:44recouped some operating costs, and
- 16:45they're like," Let's bang the plant. "I
- 16:51often talk about Autoteka's reports
- 16:53here, and we almost missed the fact
- 16:55that the service turned 10 years old
- 16:56this month. If it was able to survive
- 16:59all the upheavals that have happened
- 17:00during this time, it can only mean how
- 17:02valuable and in demand the product is.
- 17:05Autoteka has grown and accumulated in
- 17:07its product both data on cars and
- 17:09expertise in this matter, and simply
- 17:11Market experience. Just think back to
- 17:13what was on the roads in 2016. And
- 17:15since then, everything has been turned
- 17:16upside down about a thousand times. But
- 17:19the guys held on, and now it's time to
- 17:21celebrate. For the service, 10 years is
- 17:23no empty phrase, so Autoteka is
- 17:24celebrating with its customers and
- 17:26holding a giveaway. To participate, you
- 17:28only need one Autoteka report for any
- 17:31car. It doesn't matter whether you
- 17:32bought it now or earlier. It must be
- 17:34generated between October 1st and
- 17:36October 31st. And you're automatically
- 17:38in the game. Every tenth report wins.
- 17:41There are plenty of prizes, and very
- 17:42useful ones at that. Promotions for
- 17:44purchasing a helmet, auto parts, or an
- 17:46alarm, and someone will get large cash
- 17:48prizes. In any case, participate and
- 17:50win prizes. Even one generated report
- 17:53qualifies you for winning. And to
- 17:55participate, click the QR code on the
- 17:57screen or the link in the description.
- 18:02>> Well, actually, it's really strange,
- 18:04because it feels like, essentially, if
- 18:06you do something If you're doing
- 18:07something, you might just be doing
- 18:09something full-time at some point. It's
- 18:12possible that something will happen
- 18:14where you'll be in the lead, because,
- 18:16well, if all the brands hadn't left,
- 18:18who would need Hoval?
- 18:20>> Well, they probably would have
- 18:22eventually won back some market share
- 18:24anyway, because they had momentum. But
- 18:26the problem is that with the momentum
- 18:28they had, they wouldn't have even
- 18:29recouped the investment in the plant.
- 18:32And the other Chinese brands, the same
- 18:33Cherry that we've had all along, the
- 18:35same one, and all these other guys,
- 18:37well, they seemed to have a very
- 18:39sensible view of the PNL, which didn't
- 18:41match up at all under any forecasts.
- 18:44And, well, to go and invest a huge
- 18:46amount of money in a country with which
- 18:48you essentially don't have a business
- 18:50relationship, well, that's a really
- 18:52risky move. Now the Hoval plant
- 18:54assembles 3,000 cars per year,
- 18:56approximately 10 days. In 1918, that
- 18:59was the annual sales volume, and now
- 19:01they only assemble that many cars in 10
- 19:03days. And, well, they weren't the only
- 19:05assembly site they had. They also set
- 19:07up one in Kaliningrad, but they don't
- 19:09own it there. They just made an
- 19:10agreement with the plant and are just
- 19:12assembling cars there. But that's wow.
- 19:14So, again, to put it into perspective,
- 19:17Cherry officially sold 157,000 cars in
- 19:202024. And only now, in '26, they're
- 19:22like," Okay, we'll assemble a ten-piece
- 19:25. "And that's through contract assembly
- 19:28, and that's without any serious
- 19:29investment, without, well, a completely
- 19:31different approach.
- 19:32>> So, essentially, they're just setting
- 19:34up a nominal assembly line here,
- 19:36>> and they're not investing a lot of
- 19:38money. And they were completely broke
- 19:40back then, and they just went and hid a
- 19:42shitload of money for some reason. But
- 19:44even before the war, in '20, They're
- 19:47already selling 17,000 cars. In '21,
- 19:49they're selling 34,000 cars. By this
- 19:53point, their local favorite is starting
- 19:54to emerge, with Zhulion managing to eat
- 19:56away at everyone else's market share.
- 19:58Well, when the war actually starts in
- 20:00'22, all the brands leave, and Hoval is
- 20:02perfectly established, because, well,
- 20:04you already have a factory inside, no
- 20:05one's stopping you from working, you
- 20:07just have a naked market, you just go
- 20:09and whitewash people. In '25, a
- 20:11full-cycle assembly site opens in
- 20:13Kaluga. In September of this year,
- 20:15assembly began at the Kaliningrad
- 20:17Avtotor. At the moment, we're
- 20:18assembling eight cars. These are the M6
- 20:22Jon or DG, it's not clear what to call
- 20:24it. F7, F7X, H3, H7, and H9. And in '25
- 20:29, Hoval is, well, the top-two
- 20:31manufacturer in sales after AvtoVAZ.
- 20:33It's the most successful company after
- 20:35AvtoVAZ. Well, in our country, it's
- 20:37just AvtoVAZ should always be left out
- 20:38of the equation. And here we have Hoval
- 20:40, essentially the market leader.
- 20:42>> And why isn't AvtoVAZ a profitable
- 20:43company, while Hoval is? Oh, and Hoval
- 20:46is profitable. That's a
- 20:48>> good question. You can't even imagine
- 20:50how profitable Hoval is.
- 20:51>> No, I can imagine it, because I can
- 20:53imagine, well, it's amazing.
- 20:55Well, I mean, I'm envious of how
- 20:57profitable it is.
- 20:58>> I have the numbers. In 2025, I wrote
- 21:02everything down, I have it all here.
- 21:06There were quite a few articles about
- 21:08Hoval earning between 4,000 and 5,000
- 21:09dollars on each car in our country. It
- 21:12seems like, well, it's obvious that,
- 21:14well, it's clear that automakers make
- 21:16money on a car, like, everything is
- 21:17great, but to just make 5,000 bucks per
- 21:19car on a budget car, well, that's crazy
- 21:21. It's like there's no precedent for
- 21:23this in the world. Because even when we
- 21:26were discussing it around the pandemic
- 21:28and in Around '22, the Germans had this
- 21:30strategy: you know, we're BMW or
- 21:32Mercedes, and it's hard for us to
- 21:34produce our own cars because first we
- 21:36have the pandemic, then the container
- 21:38crisis, and now because of the war, and
- 21:40all the sanctions, and energy—I don't
- 21:42understand a damn thing. But we have to
- 21:46make money, we have to make money.
- 21:47We're BMW, we're Mercedes, we can kind
- 21:49of make a lot of money from our
- 21:51audience because we're a premium brand
- 21:52and people love us. So, if anything,
- 21:55we'll just sell our cars at twice the
- 21:56price, and you'll still buy them.
- 21:58Remember, we've discussed this many
- 21:59times. Back then, BMW was making $
- 22:025,000 per car. BMW, damn.
- 22:04>> And BMW back then, it was like, what's
- 22:06this,
- 22:06>> yeah, they made a lot of money. He was
- 22:08around,
- 22:09>> starting in '22. Quietly, quietly. And
- 22:11really quietly. And I mean, how do I
- 22:14understand it when you're making $
- 22:155,000 per car that you, let's say, $
- 22:1760,000. Well, in the case of BMW, it's
- 22:19either $ 80,000 or $ 100,000, it's like
- 22:20, well, that's understandable. And with
- 22:23Julian,, what are you talking
- 22:25about, like, for God's sake, yeah. Well
- 22:28,
- 22:28>> how much, like, how many thousand
- 22:30dollars is that on average, if they
- 22:32earn, like, five? From the selling
- 22:34price of the Khovala,
- 22:35>> 20%is what they earn in the car
- 22:36business—that's. Come on,
- 22:38that's a lot. The top management of car
- 22:41companies can already bathe in a bath
- 22:42and champagne when your profitability
- 22:44is, like, 10-11%. But if you provide
- 22:46for this business, everything, like, is
- 22:48fine. I think that in our country, well
- 22:50, like, people who made the decision
- 22:52and invested in the Khovala plant in
- 22:53Tula, they can bathe their entire
- 22:55family in champagne for the rest of
- 22:56their lives and generally not deny
- 22:58themselves, well, like, anything,
- 22:59Definitely. Because from a business
- 23:02perspective, it's, well, what a
- 23:03cool project it turned out to be. But
- 23:05it was very risky from the start. And
- 23:07the current dividends are precisely the
- 23:09price for that risk. So, if AvtoVAZ is
- 23:12top-1 on the Russian market, and hoval
- 23:14was top-10, then why the is
- 23:16AvtoVAZ constantly
- 23:19>> begging somewhere? It's specifically
- 23:22begging from our pockets. This seems
- 23:23like a normal topic. Well, the question
- 23:26,
- 23:26>> of course, is one that's being asked
- 23:27with holes in its jeans.
- 23:28>> It's a complex, long, and painful one.
- 23:29And as usual, you'll then come to the
- 23:31conclusion that no one is to blame and
- 23:32everyone is to blame at the same time,
- 23:34starting with the traditions instilled
- 23:35in the plant. But that's a very long
- 23:37conversation. One day we'll have it.
- 23:43The most important thing, in my opinion
- 23:46, is that if we can somehow talk about
- 23:48all the other low-cost Chinese
- 23:49companies, you know, well, if we put on
- 23:52big rose-colored glasses and decide
- 23:54that right tomorrow they'll suddenly
- 23:56come and The Koreans, the Czechs, the
- 23:58Germans, and everyone else will come
- 24:00back and definitely crush everyone else
- 24:02—it'll be very difficult to dislodge
- 24:04Howal, simply because they already have
- 24:07a production base, and people already
- 24:09have a formed understanding of this
- 24:11brand. Hundreds of thousands of people
- 24:14have already driven these cars, and
- 24:16they are generally satisfied. And among
- 24:18the Chinese, this is definitely the
- 24:19most stable and successful budget
- 24:21Chinese brand in our country. They have
- 24:23their own assembly plants, they are
- 24:24growing year after year, and most
- 24:25importantly, they are simply making
- 24:27some absurd amount of money. It's clear
- 24:29that if they had real, full-fledged
- 24:30competition in this segment, they would
- 24:32have to fall like crazy, naturally. And
- 24:36perhaps at some point we would see cars
- 24:38getting cheaper, but at the moment we
- 24:40have what we have, because in fact,
- 24:41they now essentially have their own
- 24:43monopoly within their segment, because
- 24:45no other automaker with such a dense
- 24:47production base in There simply aren't
- 24:49any in their segments. And I'll repeat
- 24:53again that, sitting in 2018-2019, it
- 24:55was absolutely difficult to imagine
- 24:57that Hoval would ever, somehow, recoup
- 25:00the cost of its factory, but now
- 25:02everything is wonderful for the guys.
- 25:05To avoid repeating ourselves 10 times,
- 25:07let's go over the common problems of
- 25:09all Hovals from the start, so that
- 25:10later we don't say the same thing for
- 25:12each model, but because everyone in the
- 25:13entire model range has common problems.
- 25:16The first problem, which affects
- 25:18absolutely all Havals, is the
- 25:19multimedia. Absolutely. Why it
- 25:23exists is unclear, but it is there to,
- 25:25actually, sell cars, so that you have a
- 25:27screen in a budget car. But it's
- 25:29inconvenient to use. It constantly
- 25:31glitches. It has absolutely
- 25:33incomprehensible ergonomics. And there
- 25:34is not a single owner of this car who
- 25:36would be completely satisfied with this
- 25:38screen. They either don't use them, or
- 25:40they are completely burned out by it.
- 25:41That's it, there are no other options.
- 25:42It glitches in the cold, it It falls
- 25:44off, it's inconvenient, and this
- 25:45applies to absolutely all models. It
- 25:47doesn't matter whether you buy a
- 25:48cheaper car or a more expensive one. In
- 25:50any case, it will be inconvenient and
- 25:52buggy. The second issue, which applies
- 25:54to absolutely all cars, is the body
- 25:55paint. The zinc on all cars is fine,
- 25:57but the problem is that all our cars
- 25:59that are produced here are completely
- 26:01galvanized, except for the roof. And if
- 26:04you use the car on the highway, and
- 26:06it's completely normal, that edge near
- 26:07the upper windshield starts to chip.
- 26:10Well, simply because sand, stones, and
- 26:12all sorts of crap fly there. The paint
- 26:14itself is soft and falls off very
- 26:16easily. And if you chip your roof, it
- 26:18will rot. So then you have a collective
- 26:21farm. And exactly the same as the
- 26:23G-club. Everyone is trying to save
- 26:25their windshield frame, because if
- 26:27anything happens, it's constantly being
- 26:28sanded off by the car's aerodynamics.
- 26:30It peels off and starts to rot too.
- 26:32Even though you have an expensive, very
- 26:34, very expensive car, the windshield
- 26:36can still fall out at some point
- 26:37because everything will simply rot. So
- 26:39you need to think about what's wrong
- 26:40with the film. So you need to think
- 26:42about how to tighten it all with some
- 26:43kind of protective crap. It's the same
- 26:45with Hovals, but with the roof on
- 26:47absolutely all models. Also, almost all
- 26:49cars have problems with the tailgate.
- 26:52One way or another, some have more,
- 26:54some less, but water,, and
- 26:55branches, uh, fall behind the rear
- 26:57decorative element, which is located
- 26:59under your license plate. It looks
- 27:01different for everyone, but one way or
- 27:02another, and all this stuff gradually
- 27:04starts to rot there too. Otherwise, the
- 27:06cars seem to live. Even in, say, St.
- 27:08Petersburg, where the salt and road
- 27:10conditions are the most difficult.
- 27:11>> Don't look at me. So
- 27:13>> this sentence can be This sentence can
- 27:15be used in two ways In a sense, yes.
- 27:18Plus, you can find some paintwork flaws
- 27:20on almost all cars. Some debris under
- 27:23the clearcoat or debris on the paint
- 27:24itself, a hanging drop here and there,
- 27:26something missing somewhere. Well,
- 27:28everyone's luck varies. But basically,
- 27:30for the budget segment, it's normal.
- 27:31That is, cars turning to dust in, say,
- 27:33five years—well, that doesn't happen.
- 27:36Only if it's driven on the highway or,
- 27:38say, the car has been driven really
- 27:39hard, say, in St. Petersburg, hasn't
- 27:41been washed at all and is constantly
- 27:43driving in, salt, and so on,
- 27:44constantly scraping the bottom
- 27:46somewhere, damaging the sills, so that
- 27:48your anti-corrosion coating breaks and
- 27:49all that. And so it really can rot. But
- 27:52overall, it's normal for the budget
- 27:54class. And the last point, which
- 27:55absolutely all cars have, is an
- 27:56uncomfortable seating position. With my
- 27:58height, with my size in Khoval It's
- 28:00impossible to get comfortable. I just
- 28:02don't have enough adjustments. It's
- 28:03just not possible. The seat is very
- 28:05soft. The buttons are in the wrong
- 28:06place. You have to constantly reach the
- 28:08steering wheel, the pedals are too
- 28:08close. And somehow, in short, there are
- 28:12big questions with the ergonomics. It's
- 28:14a really big problem. I really hate
- 28:17Hoval for this, because your cushions
- 28:18are crazy. For
- 28:19>> example, in your Julian, the column
- 28:20can't be adjusted for reach at all, and
- 28:23you sit like, well,
- 28:24>> this is a budget class,
- 28:25>> like on a bus. This is a budget class
- 28:27and a lack of design experience,
- 28:28because, well, essentially, Cre is
- 28:30exactly the same budget class, but it's
- 28:32much more comfortable to sit there,
- 28:34because the guys had a little more
- 28:35experience in how to design a car and
- 28:37more feedback from people. Hoval,
- 28:39despite the fact that it walks around
- 28:41and boasts about its Lemon platform,
- 28:42that, oh, we have, damn, everything is
- 28:44so new, oh, everything is so cool, and
- 28:45so on. Well, well, there is not a
- 28:47single Hoval where It's comfortable to
- 28:48sit in, except for the M6. The M6,
- 28:50surprisingly, turned out more or less.
- 28:53Not perfect, but much better than all
- 28:54the others. But basically, in the
- 28:56Julian, the F7X, and the Dargo, it's
- 28:58very uncomfortable to sit in.
- 29:00Especially the chubby steering wheel.
- 29:02They have these bulges. Uh, and you
- 29:04either need to hold on from above, well
- 29:05, and with the position that exists in
- 29:07the Khoval, you just have to sit down
- 29:09on the bun a little. Sorry, I caught
- 29:11the microphone. What?
- 29:12>> Sexy is still too sexy. They should
- 29:14have
- 29:14>> hammered all this in, just like that,
- 29:16>> on the armrest. And so you're driving
- 29:18like this, your right leg, well, will
- 29:20wither over time, and you don't give a
- 29:21damn about it anyway. And so you move
- 29:23around calmly. The secondary market for
- 29:29Khovals looks like this. The leader in
- 29:32offers is, naturally, the Zhuleon, aka
- 29:34Zhulya, aka Julien, aka A crook, aka
- 29:36June, aka, damn, it's all those Julians
- 29:38in the car-sharing business in the
- 29:40neighborhood. Next up, we have the F7
- 29:42and F7X, who think they're like the BMW
- 29:45X5 and X6. Almost as cool as the guys.
- 29:47That's it. Yeah, but on the used market
- 29:49, they're almost as popular as Julien.
- 29:55We recently reviewed it, and it's like
- 29:56a really big Largus from Haval, and
- 29:57overall, it's a more or less good car.
- 30:01And the Dargo, the Dargo. This is the
- 30:04car whose appearance I haven't been
- 30:05able to accept since 2020, when it was
- 30:07shown at some Chinese auto show. Here,
- 30:10it's called the Darga, but in China,
- 30:12it's called the Big Dog. Big dog.
- 30:16That's it.
- 30:20>> And I think this name suits it better,
- 30:22because it's a dog. Well, it somehow
- 30:24resembles a dog, well, more or less,
- 30:25yeah. And let's start with the dog. The
- 30:28car appeared in our country in 2022, as
- 30:30they say. Guess why.
- 30:31>> Echoes of war.
- 30:35>> In 25, the Restyling appeared. It is,
- 30:37in essence, no different from the
- 30:38Dorist. It has the same technology.
- 30:40They just, well, washed the dog. Here,
- 30:43they changed it a little. Elements. It
- 30:46seems to have become more beautiful, in
- 30:47my opinion, not so much. The car is
- 30:49strictly a two-liter, 192 horsepower,
- 30:51all-wheel drive and an ugly appearance.
- 30:53That's it, we don't have any other trim
- 30:54levels. It is positioned as an SUV.
- 30:57Like an SUV, but, you know, it is still
- 31:00a crossover. And, like, you can go
- 31:03off-road. Well, purely in terms of
- 31:05style, but not too much. No, you don't
- 31:07need, if anything, to go off-road. But
- 31:09you all definitely need to be told that
- 31:11it is very passable. Our plastic is so
- 31:13good you can rub it. Everything is
- 31:15generally fine with it. But no, it's
- 31:17just a regular crossover with a clutch,
- 31:19a robotic gearbox and some serious
- 31:21Off-road. It's best not to push it. On
- 31:24the used market, it costs between two
- 31:26and three. In our experience, a decent
- 31:28car starts somewhere around 2.4 million
- 31:30rubles. And this two-liter engine is
- 31:33called the GW4N20. It's an aluminum
- 31:37block. And it has a turbocharger with a
- 31:39wastegate. We have a chain, direct
- 31:42injection, phase regulators, and
- 31:44generally, well, the engine's
- 31:45technology package. Everything is like
- 31:48the big guys, everything is like the
- 31:49Germans, everything is like the
- 31:50Europeans. Yes, everything would
- 31:53actually be fine if they didn't try to
- 31:54put this complex engine in a cheap car.
- 31:58Because when you take an engine packed
- 32:00with all the latest technology and give
- 32:02it to people who really want to fill it
- 32:04with octane 92, and there's no other
- 32:05choice but to fill it with octane 92,
- 32:07you'll end up with what actually
- 32:09happened with the Dargo in the first
- 32:10years of production. Your third
- 32:13cylinder would collapse. in the engine
- 32:15and it was just tearing itself apart.
- 32:16And in general, if anything, the whole
- 32:18engine was tearing apart. And so, well,
- 32:19most likely because of the fuel,
- 32:21because you have direct injection, you
- 32:23get carbon deposits with bad fuel. It
- 32:25forms in general, and with normal fuel,
- 32:26too. But just not in such quantities.
- 32:29And if you fed the car crap from the
- 32:30start, the engine could have been
- 32:32thrown in the trash. In 24, Khoval
- 32:34finally said:" Okay, we get it, we
- 32:36changed the fuel map after all. It
- 32:38seems like now the engine chews up this
- 32:40second gasoline. But why do you need a
- 32:43complex turbo engine in a cheap car,
- 32:44frankly, I don't understand. Because
- 32:47you'll still have high fuel consumption
- 32:48, especially with, well, high-quality
- 32:50fuel, like 95, 98, and so on. And when
- 32:53you cram a two-liter turbo engine into
- 32:54a fairly large all-wheel drive car,
- 32:56well, you're going to have high fuel
- 32:57consumption anyway. In any case. It
- 33:00doesn't need any kind of performance.
- 33:02It's a dog. That's it. Well, why it
- 33:04needs high performance is unclear. And
- 33:06then there's the problem of used cars.
- 33:08If we're talking about you actually
- 33:09wanting to buy a used car, how will you
- 33:11figure out what kind of fuel was put in
- 33:13it? Yes, naturally, based on the
- 33:15condition of the engine. Yes, naturally
- 33:17, you'll go in there, check everything
- 33:18endoscope-wise, look, shake and wonder,
- 33:20and so on. Will your fuel system still
- 33:22be damaged? And then, when you use this
- 33:25car, you'll also monitor it as, well,
- 33:27something technically complex, because
- 33:28the engine really is technically
- 33:30complex. And indeed, if something
- 33:33suddenly goes wrong, you'll get
- 33:34detonation, you'll get carbon deposits,
- 33:36you'll get a shitty head, you'll get
- 33:37the whole environment filthy. All of
- 33:40this could be present. Something that,
- 33:42say, a Duster would never have under
- 33:44any circumstances. Or a Creta, for
- 33:46example. Well, the Creta's catalytic
- 33:47converter would break, which could also
- 33:49lead to engine failure, but overall,
- 33:50the engine there is much simpler. They
- 33:52managed to do the same thing in the
- 33:54Dargo, just from the other side. The
- 33:55engine also ends up being jerky, so you
- 33:57also need to worry about it. And on top
- 34:00of that, they also attached a wonderful
- 34:02gearbox to it, called the 7T450 or
- 34:06GW7DT1. They're the same gearbox, by
- 34:09the way. It's a dual-clutch robot, a
- 34:11wet dual-clutch system, made by HY.
- 34:14It's like a subsidiary of General
- 34:16Motors. And so they put a dual-clutch
- 34:21robot in a car they market as a light
- 34:24SUV. Well, there simply isn't another
- 34:26option. Or I don't know why. So, they
- 34:29decided that, well, here's a robot, it
- 34:30fits practically the entire model range
- 34:31, by the way. And overall, the
- 34:33automatic transmission itself is fine.
- 34:34It's kind of, well, slow, like all
- 34:35Chinese automatic transmissions. It
- 34:37doesn't even seem to fall apart. There
- 34:38have been cases where the mechatronics
- 34:40system screwed up, but that's an
- 34:41isolated incident. The standard
- 34:42transmission is still going strong.
- 34:43It's slow and steady. But honestly, I
- 34:46don't understand why it's needed there
- 34:48when we're talking about a large, heavy
- 34:49vehicle that people try to use on dirt
- 34:51roads every now and then. I understand,
- 34:53like the dual-clutch automatic
- 34:55transmission in the Tiguan. I
- 34:56understand that, because the car is
- 34:58controlled, and it's supposed to be an
- 35:00urban crossover, marketed as an urban
- 35:02crossover, a car that's strictly for
- 35:03city driving. When you have a boxy
- 35:06thing like this with a automatic
- 35:07transmission, it's two different things
- 35:09, you shouldn't mix them. But you can
- 35:12buy a used car, and the transmission
- 35:14won't blow your mind. The suspension on
- 35:16all Havals is crap, including the
- 35:17Havals in particular. MacPherson struts
- 35:19up front and a multi-link rear. There
- 35:21aren't any major issues unless you
- 35:23drive fast on dirt roads, because if
- 35:25you drive these cars fast on crappy
- 35:27roads, things start to go wrong: the
- 35:29front shock absorbers fall apart, the
- 35:31tie rod ends fall apart, the stabilizer
- 35:33links, the bushings in the rear
- 35:35suspension start to tear, and the whole
- 35:37thing just falls apart. If you drive
- 35:40around town and don't overload the car
- 35:42and fly over speed bumps, then
- 35:43everything is generally fine. As for
- 35:45the suspension, well, it's a standard
- 35:47car that doesn't handle like,
- 35:48really. Oh, and it seems like you have
- 35:50a multi-link rear suspension, so you're
- 35:52supposed to be driving somewhere,
- 35:54pushing your ass against it, and so on,
- 35:55but no, the Haval isn't very good at
- 35:57driving.
- 35:58>> So, we're buying a crossover, as Khoval
- 36:01assures us, with increased
- 36:02cross-country ability,
- 36:05>> which should never be driven off-road.
- 36:09You should never drive over speed bumps
- 36:11quickly or carefully and slowly on
- 36:13bumps, just like
- 36:14>> with any other body-on-frame crossover,
- 36:16with a turbocharged engine, a robotic
- 36:18transmission, a clutch, and a
- 36:19conventional multi-link rear suspension
- 36:20.
- 36:21>> Cool. Why the hell do you need a
- 36:23crossover then? Why?
- 36:25>> Well, that's it. Well, that's it.
- 36:27People don't really worry about the
- 36:28suspension or the components. They just
- 36:30buy the car and use it. And let's say
- 36:33the Tank 300, which you and I filmed at
- 36:35the proving ground, that's a real SUV,
- 36:37with off-road components, with an
- 36:39off-road design that you can actually,
- 36:41like, drive into a field and everyone
- 36:43will love it. Expensive dog,, dog
- 36:47, no need to do that. He's a purebred,
- 36:50we have to be careful with him in the
- 36:51city, but at the same time, he tells
- 36:53everyone that he's done.
- 36:56>> You know, like a purebred dog, which
- 36:57used to be used for hunting, but now
- 36:59they can only hunt the couch.
- 37:01>> Corgis?
- 37:02>> No, corgis are shepherds.
- 37:04>> We're against bestiality. It's just,
- 37:07well, Nikitos is reminding us of his
- 37:08values. It's just that you suddenly
- 37:11forgot, suddenly, suddenly someone
- 37:12forgot.
- 37:13>> Well, there's a difference in price,
- 37:15probably the tank is expensive.
- 37:16>> Yeah, yeah, yeah. A tank is more
- 37:18expensive, of course. Well, you're like
- 37:19, "And they
- 37:20>> praise the tank,
- 37:21>> right?" A tank is a perfectly fine
- 37:23machine.
- 37:23>> But the hoval is crap. It's Niktos
- 37:25reminding us of his breakfast.
- 37:29>> And overall, you can't really say
- 37:30anything else about him. Well, I guess
- 37:32another peculiarity is that, besides
- 37:35the windshield frame rotting at the top
- 37:37, the rear window frame at the bottom
- 37:39can also rot because there's a rubber
- 37:41seal there, water and crap accumulate
- 37:44there, and so on. The fifth door on
- 37:46this car can also rot, for example. But
- 37:48the main thing is that I don't really
- 37:50understand why it's needed, especially
- 37:52in Russia, because ultimately, it's a
- 37:53very specific car. You can't use it as
- 37:56an SUV, just as a unit. You can't use
- 37:58it in harsh conditions, where the gas
- 37:59is crappy, where the roads are crappy,
- 38:01and so on. It won't handle it anyway
- 38:03and will eventually fall apart. So, for
- 38:06really bad roads and life in the region
- 38:08, I would buy a Duster, which costs the
- 38:10same. And it's definitely a car that's
- 38:13prepared for more severe tests. And
- 38:15it's been tested for a long time, and
- 38:17it can be serviced anywhere, and it
- 38:19will definitely be cheaper for you
- 38:20overall, much cheaper. And even if you
- 38:23really want a Haval, it's still not the
- 38:25best choice, as we'll see later. And on
- 38:29top of all that, there's the appearance
- 38:31of this dog. I don't understand, but
- 38:34generally speaking, if you suddenly
- 38:36want one and you dream of wanting
- 38:37something expensive, well, you'll need
- 38:39to make sure the engine is in good
- 38:41condition, so it's not too jacked up,
- 38:43and you'll need to check the suspension
- 38:45. And overall, you'll still have three
- 38:48years to drive it, but you'll have to
- 38:50worry about fuel. You'll need to
- 38:53periodically adjust the robot, and
- 38:55don't overtax the car. The next car is
- 39:00the Haval M6. We have a full review of
- 39:03it. And we're talking about the second
- 39:05generation, because the first one was
- 39:07sold in our country in literally single
- 39:09units, and the second generation
- 39:10appeared in 2021 and is still being
- 39:12produced. On the used market, they now
- 39:15cost from 1.2 million rubles for a used
- 39:18car that's been used as a taxi. And in
- 39:21our experience, you can find something
- 39:23more realistic in Moscow for around 1.6
- 39:25, 1.7, or 1.8 million rubles. Right now
- 39:29, according to my invisible clock, it's
- 39:31October 2026. The idea behind this car
- 39:33was to make the largest possible
- 39:34crossover for the minimum price. It has
- 39:37minimal equipment, minimal bells and
- 39:39whistles; it's just a car. And it's
- 39:41actually a good idea, and Haval even
- 39:44executed it quite well. There are some
- 39:46questions, but they're not critical.
- 39:48This car uses the platform from the old
- 39:50Haval A6, which came out back in 2011.
- 39:53There are rumors that this platform was
- 39:55cribbed from the Honda CRV, but those
- 39:58are just rumors. Of course, Haval came
- 40:00up with everything themselves, but in
- 40:02keeping with the brand's tradition,
- 40:03they simply took the Japanese car,
- 40:04disassembled it, looked at what it
- 40:05looked like, and tried to make it their
- 40:06own. The most important thing for us as
- 40:09consumers is that this platform was
- 40:12proven even before the M6 hit our roads
- 40:15. Overall, it's a very basic chassis, a
- 40:17very basic car in terms of options, and
- 40:19it retains the hefty body, which is
- 40:21reflected in the price. The M6 is truly
- 40:23an affordable car and, well, in today's
- 40:26market, it's very reasonably priced. It
- 40:28has a standard GW4G15F engine—a 1.5-
- 40:30liter turbo, four cylinders, 143
- 40:32horsepower, multipoint injection,
- 40:34chain-link, and so on. But then again,
- 40:37we talked about it in more detail in
- 40:38the review. And overall, it's a decent
- 40:41engine. The only thing we can say about
- 40:44it from our experience is that it leaks
- 40:46everywhere. It just presses the gaskets
- 40:48. For some, it's from the heat, for
- 40:49others from the cold, and for others,
- 40:51it just decides to wet itself in the
- 40:52fall. Basically, it leaks very often.
- 40:54And the turbo can also fail. Sometimes
- 40:57it can just wet itself, sometimes it
- 40:58can start humming, farting, whistling,
- 41:00and falling apart. But again, these
- 41:02aren't widespread problems. Overall,
- 41:04the car's engine is reliable. The most
- 41:06important thing is that Hall had no
- 41:07illusions about the target audience and
- 41:09set the car up for octane 92 gasoline
- 41:10right from the start. And given that
- 41:12the engine also has multipoint
- 41:14injection, it runs perfectly well and
- 41:16can handle any kind of crap in any
- 41:18region, simply cruising along without
- 41:20any problems. The most important thing
- 41:22is that it's technically complex
- 41:23because of the turbocharger. If
- 41:24anything, the turbocharger itself can
- 41:26slip, just like with any other
- 41:27turbocharged engine. And that's normal
- 41:29in a mid-range car. But if you're
- 41:31trying to build a budget car, I think
- 41:33it's better to shove a naturally
- 41:34aspirated engine in there. Well,
- 41:36roughly speaking, like it was with the
- 41:37Hyundai Solaris, like it was with the
- 41:39Renault Logan, like it was with the
- 41:40Creta, with the Duster, well, and so on
- 41:42down the list. Manual. It has a 6 MF22B
- 41:45. And how can I say, zero questions.
- 41:49Simply zero. There's simply nothing to
- 41:50say about this manual. There are cars
- 41:52with manual. If you need a manual, buy
- 41:54a manual. That's it. And you definitely
- 41:56won't break a manual. A robot. And the
- 41:597DCT300S is the majority of cars on the
- 42:01market. They are divided about 80%to 20
- 42:04%with a manual: 80%with a robot, 20%
- 42:07with a manual. And essentially, it's
- 42:09the same robot as the Dorgo. It just
- 42:11has less torque. And it also runs fine.
- 42:14It's also slow. It also can't do
- 42:16anything with this engine, because
- 42:18together they don't have enough power
- 42:20for such a large car. You just drive,
- 42:23revving the revs, and just endure it.
- 42:26The M 6's bodywork is exactly the same
- 42:28as all other Hovals. The roof edge
- 42:30might rot, but the basic car itself
- 42:33doesn't. And for me, as I actually
- 42:36expressed my opinion in the review,
- 42:38overall, from my point of view, this is
- 42:40the best Hoval, because in terms of
- 42:41money spent per kilogram of car, it's
- 42:43the best value. A naturally-aspirated
- 42:47engine would be great, too, like a 1.8
- 42:49with 120 horsepower, or maybe a 2-liter
- 42:51with 150. Yes, the fuel consumption
- 42:53would probably be slightly higher, and
- 42:55the car wouldn't be very good, but it
- 42:57would definitely be a bestseller,
- 42:59because then it would be impossible to
- 43:01wear out the car. And this is the only
- 43:04steering wheel where I can find an
- 43:06adjustment for a comfortable position.
- 43:08The steering wheel is thin, and it
- 43:09stays in place. Yes, it still lacks
- 43:11adjustment, but it stays in place from
- 43:13the start. The seat, yes, is still
- 43:15short, still amorphous, but for some
- 43:17reason it stays in place and has enough
- 43:19space. Well, again, you can see it in
- 43:22the review, so to sum it up, the M6 is
- 43:25a perfectly adequate car for the money.
- 43:28It has no major issues. The only thing
- 43:30is that you'll have to deal with the
- 43:32dumb robot and the lack of dynamics.
- 43:34But if you just need a large trunk to
- 43:36move around comfortably, and you don't
- 43:38mind the hull, and you like this car,
- 43:39okay, you can do it. We've also
- 43:45reviewed the F7 and F7X. Twice, in fact
- 43:48. We first took the car on the road for
- 43:50a quick review, and then dragged it to
- 43:51the test site and discovered that the
- 43:53car can't stop at all. The first
- 43:55generation appeared in 2018, the rezd
- 43:57came out in 2022. The F7 and F7X are
- 43:59the same car. Apparently, the F7X has
- 44:02different suspension settings, that
- 44:04it's sportier, but everything else is
- 44:06the same. The car was unveiled at the
- 44:09Moscow Motor Show, back when there was
- 44:11still a tradition of holding motor
- 44:13shows, in 2018. And, accordingly, in
- 44:15our country it comes in several
- 44:16versions: all-wheel and front-wheel
- 44:18drive with a 1.5-liter engine producing
- 44:20150 horsepower, and all-wheel
- 44:21front-wheel drive with a 2-liter engine
- 44:23producing 190 horsepower. On the used
- 44:26market, prices currently start at
- 44:28900,000 rubles for a car that's simply
- 44:30been destroyed by taxi drivers, and
- 44:33around 2.6 million rubles for a freshly
- 44:35restyled car, according to our data,
- 44:37and because we're looking for, well, a
- 44:39decent car with normal mileage,
- 44:41serviced by a decent person. You can
- 44:44find all of these for around 1.8
- 44:46million rubles. The engines, well, one
- 44:49is great, the other not so much. The
- 44:52first one, uh, is the GW4B15, also
- 44:54known as the GW 4 B 15A, a revised
- 44:57version since 2020. And it actually
- 44:59comes with both all-wheel drive and
- 45:01front-wheel drive. And this is an
- 45:04aluminum four-cylinder, 1.5-liter, damn
- 45:06, turbo engine with a timing chain. So.
- 45:09And what's in it? That's right, direct
- 45:12fuel injection. Yes, the engine is
- 45:15average, without any serious widespread
- 45:17problems, but at the same time, like
- 45:19with any new turbo engine that has just
- 45:22appeared on our market, there were
- 45:24still problems. There were times when
- 45:26the turbine gear would crumble. Well,
- 45:28simply because condensation accumulated
- 45:30. Then it would turn to ice in the cold
- 45:32. The turbo would go beardless. These
- 45:33are a small number of cases, but one
- 45:35way or another, they did happen. We
- 45:36discussed in the news how the Howal
- 45:38burned because something in the fuel
- 45:40system spun up, gasoline dripped onto
- 45:42the hot exhaust, and the car caught
- 45:44fire. That's also all about the F7. And
- 45:46that has also been fixed. If you're
- 45:48looking at a car that didn't burn out,
- 45:49then this has definitely been fixed.
- 45:51Because everyone's trying to put octane
- 45:53-92 gasoline into this direct-injection
- 45:55engine. Naturally, we have carbon
- 45:58deposits, fuel system wear, and the
- 46:00engine could very well be destroyed by
- 46:02detonation. That's happened before.
- 46:04There are issues, like the thermostat
- 46:06popping off—not a common problem, but
- 46:08that's perfectly normal for a car like
- 46:10this. And like any other small engine,
- 46:13there are major issues warming up in
- 46:15extreme cold. Well, guys, overall,
- 46:18everything falls apart, everything
- 46:19fizzles out, but the car's fine,
- 46:21>> right? Well, for the type of design
- 46:24that exists there—this aluminum
- 46:26engine, direct injection, turbos, and
- 46:27so on, it runs fine. The problem is
- 46:30that it's a budget car. You take, say,
- 46:31an engine from a sophisticated
- 46:32Volkswagen and shove it into a budget
- 46:34Logan. A very strange effect. Yeah,
- 46:36right.
- 46:37>> Overall, it's running fine, but for a
- 46:38budget car, it's not always acceptable
- 46:39—something needs to be replaced.
- 46:42Something needs additional maintenance.
- 46:44How can that even be possible? We
- 46:45didn't agree on that. And here's the
- 46:47other engine, specifically the
- 46:49two-liter 190-horsepower GW4C20NT. It's
- 46:53a cast-iron engine, meaning it has a
- 46:55cast-iron block. It also has direct
- 46:57injection. It's also turbocharged, but
- 46:59it's a successful engine. It also had
- 47:02some initial fuel system issues,
- 47:03exactly the same as the 1.5-liter
- 47:04engine, but those have since been
- 47:06resolved. And overall, if you don't put
- 47:08crap in the car, it'll be fine. And the
- 47:11two-liter engine is already sufficient
- 47:13for the F7X, given that the 1.5-liter
- 47:15barely pulls and is under a lot of
- 47:16stress. The two-liter is more or less
- 47:18fine. So, if we're talking about buying
- 47:20an F7X, it's definitely better to look
- 47:22at the two-liter engine. You'll sell
- 47:24her a simpler car later and have fewer
- 47:26problems with operation. But it's still
- 47:2895 octane plus gasoline. Ideally, 98
- 47:30octane. Khoval drivers don't usually do
- 47:33that. And where are you going to find a
- 47:34car that hasn't been constantly filled
- 47:36with 92 octane by the bucket? Big
- 47:37question. They don't recommend there,
- 47:40like in Volkswagen, that you fill up
- 47:42with no less than 95 octane or no less.
- 47:45>> No, the car is programmed for
- 47:46second-grade, like it fills up with
- 47:47second-grade.
- 47:48>> That's it. Uh, well, I don't...
- 47:49>> They don't write recommendations about
- 47:51anything. I just honestly don't
- 47:52understand why she's doing it. Like,
- 47:53install a naturally aspirated engine.
- 47:54That's it. We don't have environmental
- 47:56requirements in our country, well,
- 47:57there aren't any, but they won't
- 47:59develop a separate engine for us, like.
- 48:00Well, never mind. Otherwise, it's the
- 48:02same as Khoval's. The robot is the same
- 48:05, it's also called GW7 DCT1 there. Well
- 48:09, who cares. It's the same robot, just
- 48:10with different torque limitations. It's
- 48:13just as sluggish, the suspension rides
- 48:15the same—if you don't abuse the car,
- 48:16it'll survive, but if you drive on dirt
- 48:18roads and constantly have the gas
- 48:19pallet, it'll fall apart. The body is
- 48:22exactly the same. The roof isn't
- 48:24galvanized, so it rots at the first
- 48:26opportunity. All the other components
- 48:28are more or less functional. It's a
- 48:29restyled F7, which appeared in 2022.
- 48:31The technology is basically the same,
- 48:33just the price tag and a younger car.
- 48:35So, if you really want a restyled
- 48:36version, by all means, buy it. But I'd
- 48:38consider the Doris, because it's the
- 48:39same car. Regarding the bodies, there
- 48:41are also strange videos online and
- 48:43forum posts about people supposedly
- 48:44getting inside door panels, for example
- 48:46, or digging into some hidden cavities
- 48:48and finding that everything there has
- 48:50already begun to rot completely, and
- 48:52the car...well, in another 2-3 years,
- 48:54everything will definitely be F7, all
- 48:56Dorgos and Julians, and so on. It's
- 48:57just that, well, the car will drive
- 48:58away separately from the body. But,
- 49:00frankly, in our experience, we don't
- 49:01see such problems all that often. Yes,
- 49:04cars rust, yes, indeed, some rust spots
- 49:05appear somewhere, somewhere at the
- 49:07joints, say, between the fender and the
- 49:09bumper, somewhere on the rear door,
- 49:10where some decorative element is
- 49:11constantly rubbing against the body,
- 49:13something can also happen there, even
- 49:15the roof. But in our experience, we
- 49:17don't see the entire car rot inside,
- 49:19even in Moscow—again, again,
- 49:20footnotes. If we're talking about cars
- 49:23that haven't been in an accident, or,
- 49:25say, a bunch of minor accidents—where
- 49:27all the body parts are constantly
- 49:29rubbing together, someone's constantly
- 49:30taking them apart, putting them back
- 49:32together, and so on—then we can't
- 49:34even talk about any kind of predictable
- 49:36service life, because they could just
- 49:37rot away at any moment, simply because
- 49:39of poor repairs. And the last car in
- 49:45Hvala today is, naturally, the Zhuleon.
- 49:48It's our most popular Haval Calypso
- 49:50rider, the most popular crossover in
- 49:52our country with the Haval brand at the
- 49:55moment. It's been sold since the first
- 49:57generation appeared in 2021,
- 49:59essentially. We had a restyling in 2023
- 50:01, and then another restyling recently,
- 50:04but they're all essentially the same
- 50:06car. On the secondary market, of course
- 50:08, the Dorest is mostly sold, simply
- 50:10because it's older. There are fewer
- 50:12resto cars, but they're also starting
- 50:14to disappear, especially from the used
- 50:15car parks. Some remaining cars start at
- 50:181 million rubles. The market ceiling
- 50:21under Dorist is 2.5 million rubles. And
- 50:23in our experience, you can start
- 50:25looking for a decent car for around 1.7
- 50:27million rubles. So, it turns out that
- 50:30the F7, Jzhion, and M6 are all priced
- 50:32more or less the same on the used
- 50:34market, which is pretty strange.
- 50:37Because usually, when you have the same
- 50:39model lineup and different cars in
- 50:40different classes, the price is somehow
- 50:42different, but the used ones are a dime
- 50:44a dozen. We're all more or less on the
- 50:46used market. For 1.7 or 1.8, you can
- 50:49get any car you want. That also says
- 50:52something about the Chinese. But again,
- 50:54you have to understand that Khoval is
- 50:56probably in one of the best positions
- 50:58in this regard, because, for example,
- 51:00Chengan, X, all the rest of the Cherry
- 51:02line, they're all getting cheaper, of
- 51:04course, categorically more.
- 51:07>> Well, I think this is because people
- 51:09initially bought Julians when prices
- 51:11were pre-war, when there wasn't much
- 51:13demand, plus the pandemic and the war
- 51:16hit. Exchange
- 51:17>> rates fluctuated, and so on. It was
- 51:20originally cheaper. So, basically, it
- 51:22was initially just worth two.
- 51:23>> Now it's selling for 1.8. And no, more
- 51:25precisely, during the war, I think it
- 51:27was even worth something like 1.5 or
- 51:281.6 somewhere around that. They're just
- 51:30selling it for the same. And IXIDs in
- 51:32'22-'23 were bought there, like, well,
- 51:34for the same price, they're selling for
- 51:35much less. But then again, we have a
- 51:37top list with comparative figures for
- 51:39all Chinese brands. We talk about
- 51:41depreciation in detail there. So,
- 51:43basically, people who bought the Jon
- 51:44didn't lose out by much. They
- 51:46definitely lost less than all the other
- 51:48Chinese brands. So, the most profitable
- 51:51financial investment, if you can even
- 51:53say that, was in the case of the Juke,
- 51:55because the same F7 cost almost half as
- 51:57much in the showroom as the Juke, and
- 52:00now it's worth the same on the used
- 52:02market. You have to understand that the
- 52:04Jon is a really budget, cheap car,
- 52:06really cheap, and you have to make
- 52:08allowances for that. Because if you
- 52:11look at it from this perspective, it's
- 52:12the cheapest Hoval has ever produced in
- 52:14our country, well, overall, it's
- 52:15well-made. Overall, not bad. If you
- 52:19just get into it and expect it to be a
- 52:20car, then yes, of course, you'll be
- 52:22disappointed by the same multimedia,
- 52:24the same driving position, the same
- 52:26overall interior design. The only plus
- 52:28is that it's big for its class. You'll
- 52:31be able to carry everything in it
- 52:32comfortably, but everyone in car
- 52:33sharing has probably driven a Julian;
- 52:34everyone has a more or less idea of
- 52:35what kind of car it is. And essentially
- 52:37, these are all its problems, because
- 52:39the car is technically sound. Under the
- 52:42hood, we have a 1.5-liter turbo engine,
- 52:45the G15K with 143 horsepower. And it
- 52:49has multipoint injection, a ported
- 52:50engine, hiding the H2, which was still
- 52:52being supplied to Russia back then,
- 52:54well, even before the factory, so to
- 52:56speak. And since the engine has
- 52:59multipoint injection, it was initially
- 53:01configured for octane 92 gasoline. It
- 53:04was designed for it, everything is fine
- 53:06with it, and the car just drives. If it
- 53:10had direct injection, it would be a
- 53:11complete disaster, just like with
- 53:13everything else, because you simply,
- 53:14well, it's impossible to make a car
- 53:16with direct injection not get clogged
- 53:18with on cheap, bad fuel. And for
- 53:20budget cars, multipoint injection is
- 53:22just the thing. And a very durable
- 53:24engine. And naturally, it's fine.
- 53:26Everything is fine with it. Totally
- 53:28fine. It just drives, I mean, it just
- 53:29drives. We often go to look at Juulions
- 53:31, and we don't see any problems with
- 53:33the engines there. So, it's simply,
- 53:35well, roughly speaking, like in the
- 53:36Logan, like in the Solaris, like in the
- 53:38Duster. There you go. It's just a
- 53:39simple engine, it's always clean inside
- 53:40, everything is fine with it, the cat
- 53:42doesn't crumble, everything is fine.
- 53:43The 6 F 22B manual transmission is also
- 53:46nothing to say, just like in the Mshego
- 53:48. Well, well, it's a manual. You drive
- 53:51it, then you drive back, everything is,
- 53:54well, running. The GW7 DCT1, the same
- 53:57one that's installed on absolutely
- 53:59every Haval, has all the same problems:
- 54:01it's sluggish, it shakes, it rolls back
- 54:03on hills. The first versions had issues
- 54:05with the mechanicals, but they've all
- 54:07been fixed now. Now it's just sluggish,
- 54:09just shifting gears slowly. The
- 54:11suspension is the same. There are no
- 54:13critical issues. There are no
- 54:15maintenance issues, spare parts are
- 54:16readily available. If you try to
- 54:18destroy the car, you can certainly ruin
- 54:21the suspension, but in normal civilian
- 54:23use, there are no serious issues. The
- 54:26body is exactly the same; if it rusts,
- 54:27it's the roof that's the first.
- 54:29Everything else holds up as best it can
- 54:31. There's the same gunk in the paint,
- 54:33the same streaks, the same things,
- 54:34sometimes there are double paint jobs
- 54:36under warranty because something simply
- 54:38happened to the paint. But for budget
- 54:39cars, this is generally normal. And in
- 54:41a sense, the Julian is our current
- 54:43replacement for the Creet. No matter
- 54:46how painful it may be, because
- 54:48in my eyes the Creta is still a better
- 54:49car, it's better designed. It's just
- 54:51that the people who made it had a
- 54:53better understanding of what a car is.
- 54:55And as we initially said back in 2022,
- 54:57well, definitely someone will be able
- 54:59to benefit from the current situation,
- 55:01someone will definitely be able to eat
- 55:03into some positions and will definitely
- 55:05be able to make a good amount of money,
- 55:07and people will really try out some
- 55:09kind of car. Now, if you can look at
- 55:11the Chinese, then it's about the Julian
- 55:12. Probably, if you objectively compare
- 55:14it to the Creta, its only advantage is
- 55:16that it's bigger and everyone will be
- 55:18more comfortable in the cabin than in
- 55:20the Creta. Everyone except the driver,
- 55:22because the driver in the Julian is,
- 55:24well, bad. Like, really bad. Well, the
- 55:26seat is uncomfortable, the steering
- 55:27wheel is awkwardly positioned, and I
- 55:28won't be able to get comfortable there.
- 55:30But everyone else will be more
- 55:31comfortable. The trunk is bigger, the
- 55:33back seat is bigger, but otherwise,
- 55:35well, it's also a budget car. It
- 55:37handles absolutely nothing compared to
- 55:38the Creta, again. It's not that the
- 55:41Creta handles perfectly, but at least
- 55:43people there know how a car should turn
- 55:46. Jlion seems surprised every time it
- 55:49turns, like, what the heck. And then,
- 55:52over time, as the shock absorbers and
- 55:54suspension wear out, it starts to rock
- 55:56even more. And that makes the car
- 55:58really interesting to drive. But the
- 56:01most important thing is that currently,
- 56:03on the used market—and if you look at
- 56:05Chinese cars, if you look at the budget
- 56:08segment—the Gon is truly the best
- 56:10choice. Well, simply because the market
- 56:12has decided so over time. And you can
- 56:14confidently buy it on the used market,
- 56:16because a lot of people have already
- 56:18experimented with it themselves, and
- 56:20they've already paid for it themselves.
- 56:22It doesn't absorb shock, after all,
- 56:24there's demand for it, including on the
- 56:26used market. And it might even be
- 56:28possible to sell it. So, it's possible
- 56:30to find one now, maybe drive it for two
- 56:31or three years without a problem and
- 56:33then sell it without losing much money.
- 56:35Precisely because it's simply, well,
- 56:37it's taken root, it's definitely here
- 56:38to stay. And even if all the Germans,
- 56:41Japanese, and so on return, the Julion
- 56:44will likely remain. Or something like
- 56:47the Julion, because this budget
- 56:48crossover niche, with a factory in our
- 56:50country making an inexpensive car, a
- 56:53crossover that can potentially fit the
- 56:55whole family, and it just drives
- 56:56without being noticed. Right now,
- 56:59that's what we have with the Led. And
- 57:03that's all we have left. There are
- 57:05other models out there, but they're so
- 57:07unpopular or there's so little data on
- 57:09them that it's too early to talk about
- 57:11them. Comment below with what you agree
- 57:12with and what you disagree with. Share
- 57:14your stories of using Havals, too.
- 57:17We'll keep an eye on all of this, too.
- 57:18Also, let us know what brand or
- 57:20sub-brand we should look into next. And
- 57:22thank you very much for your attention.
- 57:24I love you all very much. Be sure to
- 57:26check if you're subscribed there, no. I
- 57:28see you're not subscribed. Well, for
- 57:30those who are subscribed, I see you too
- 57:31. A special like and a kiss to you. But
- 57:34if you're not subscribed, be sure to
- 57:36fix that. Bye.
- 57:48>> I didn't get charged for the
- 57:49thing, damn it, it's just an M6 for
- 57:50real. Who are you telling me?
- 57:52>> Yeah. Go ahead. No
- 57:53>> one will believe you in the comments
- 57:54anyway. No
- 57:54>> one will ever believe me in the
- 57:55comments. And yes, and
- 57:57>> yes, and no one will believe you there
- 57:58either, Nikita. So,
- 57:59>> yes, indeed, you
- 58:00>> can say we got charged, and then say we
- 58:02didn't...
- 58:03>> You know, coming to a blogger in the
- 58:05comments and saying he got charged
- 58:07something for writing about a used car,
- 58:10you have to be so ignorant of what
- 58:12people get paid for in the automotive
- 58:14world that it's just, well, no one is
- 58:16interested in used cars, except for the
- 58:19hyenas who deal with them.
- 58:21>> Well, I don't share your admiration for
- 58:24the M6, but frankly, it looks bad.
- 58:27>> How much does it cost? By the way, it
- 58:28costs as much as a normal car. Two 2.5,
- 58:31yes, I think. I'm
- 58:32>> telling you. You can find one on the
- 58:35used market for 1.6, for 1.7.
- 58:36>> Oh, well, used. And if a new one from
- 58:38the dealership costs around two, you'll
- 58:40>> buy something new now, a used one. No,
- 58:42you won't buy it for that kind of money
- 58:44. Like I said, in terms of a kilogram
- 58:47of car for 1,000 rubles, well,
- 58:48relatively speaking, it's the best deal
- 58:50on the market right now. It's
- 58:52essentially just a replacement for a
- 58:54Largus. That owner bought it back then
- 58:56because he had two Huskies, so he could
- 58:58carry three, exactly three Huskies in
- 58:59the trunk.
- 59:00>> Come on. That's how Huskies are made.
- 59:02>> Oh,
- 59:03>> and three of those, imagine that. No,
- 59:05seriously, you simply won't buy
- 59:06anything for that kind of money now.
- 59:07You can't really find anything like
- 59:08that on the used market. The
- 59:10>> most important thing is that,
- 59:12considering all these Chinese cars and
- 59:13the like, you won't lose money on it.
- 59:16It doesn't depreciate much, which means
- 59:17it's well-suited to its target audience
- 59:19. Especially since the car we rented
- 59:22was bought new for under 2 million
- 59:25rubles. Well, because the supply and
- 59:27everything else were in place. You
- 59:29won't run out of parts anywhere. It's
- 59:31absolutely problem-free. The only thing
- 59:34is, well, it'll probably be hard to get
- 59:36300,000-400,000 miles on it without
- 59:37replacing the engine. Well, that's
- 59:40simply because it's a 1.5-liter engine
- 59:42in a two-ton car with almost 100
- 59:43horsepower per liter. It'll probably
- 59:45ask you for something. And from the
- 59:47hypothetical bestseller, which is, well
- 59:49, supposedly absolutely reliable and
- 59:50just goes on for generations, the only
- 59:51thing that separates it is essentially
- 59:53the engine.
- 59:54>> If you're a sensible person, you'll buy
- 59:57a Honda Stepvan, a Nissan Sirena, a
- 1:00:00>> Toyota Voxy. This will all be before...
- 1:00:04>> How many Stepvegans have been sold in
- 1:00:05our country? How many M6s have been
- 1:00:06sold?
- 1:00:07>> Listen, it's hard to find statistics on
- 1:00:08Stepvegans, because they're imported
- 1:00:10cars,
- 1:00:10>> right? Because you have three in your
- 1:00:12neighborhood in Moscow and that's it?
- 1:00:13>> Yeah. Have you seen how many of them
- 1:00:14have appeared in Moscow? Do you know
- 1:00:15what the brain's confirmation bias is?
- 1:00:17>> I know, I understand, but really,
- 1:00:19>> you probably have a ton of them, too.
- 1:00:20>> No, there are no BZets.
- 1:00:23>> I'm the only idiot. They've really been
- 1:00:26appearing in Moscow in large numbers,
- 1:00:27at least since 22.
- 1:00:28>> No, yeah. Yeah, and with time there
- 1:00:30will be more and more of them,
- 1:00:31naturally. It makes sense. But again,
- 1:00:33these are minor details relative to the
- 1:00:35car market. There are fewer of them,
- 1:00:37much fewer.
- 1:00:38>> I know, but I just sat and drove a
- 1:00:40Haval M6. I drove a Stepwagon, and all
- 1:00:44these
- 1:00:45>> cars are just different. They're
- 1:00:48completely different cars. Well, the
- 1:00:50pleasure you get from paying for a
- 1:00:53Stepwagon or a siren doesn't even come
- 1:00:56close to that if you buy an M6.
- 1:00:59>> Well, of course, yes. I'm talking about
- 1:01:01sensible people.
- 1:01:01>> No, look. For adults, let's say, my
- 1:01:04mother got a car in her life, well, if
- 1:01:06I have a limited budget, I should buy
- 1:01:08something right-hand drive, something
- 1:01:10proven even by the market, or a regular
- 1:01:11standard left-hand drive, but I won't
- 1:01:13put her behind the wheel of a
- 1:01:15right-hand drive at her age. Well, I'm
- 1:01:17like, I'll go gray every day. The
- 1:01:19>> fourth person bought a Raf, by the way.
- 1:01:20>> Well, you're not going to buy her
- 1:01:22anything. Well, you'd like, well, like,
- 1:01:25move an adult to the city, well, no,
- 1:01:27well, your wife, who, for example,
- 1:01:28drives on the left, they all drive well
- 1:01:30, put them in the right. Well, like,
- 1:01:33what are you talking about? You know,
- 1:01:34like, a helmet, sister.
- 1:01:35>> And what about a helmet? Well, like, my
- 1:01:37knees are new. Who's going to put a
- 1:01:38helmet on? You're just young. We're
- 1:01:40>> getting back to our standard, our
- 1:01:42standard conversation. You talk about
- 1:01:45sensible people, and I'm telling you
- 1:01:47that if you add up absolutely all the
- 1:01:49right-hand drive cars in our country,
- 1:01:51across all years and all generations,
- 1:01:53all-all-all-all, all-all-all-all, it
- 1:01:55would be, like, 4 million cars.
- 1:01:57>> I know, yes, I remember the statistics,
- 1:01:59>> yes, I understand that there aren't
- 1:02:02many of them yet, but I'm here so that
- 1:02:04there will be more.
- 1:02:06>> You add 20 more people to those 4
- 1:02:09million, guys,
- 1:02:10>> and we'll get there, so to
- 1:02:12>> speak. We're talking about 8.7%of the
- 1:02:15market, some values like that. So let's
- 1:02:20conduct a thought experiment. Well, I
- 1:02:24don't want to offend anyone, but you
- 1:02:26could conduct your own experiment.
- 1:02:29Let's imagine that you teleport 100
- 1:02:31random people from different walks of
- 1:02:34life into some random room where you
- 1:02:36are. Just 100 random people. And what
- 1:02:39percentage of those 100 people will be,
- 1:02:42well, some really weird characters,
- 1:02:45some really out of the ordinary.
- 1:02:48>> Three.
- 1:02:49>> Well, maybe five people out of that
- 1:02:51hundred will be some really, really
- 1:02:52interesting characters.
- 1:02:54>> And the rest will be, the
- 1:02:55>> rest will be just normal people.
- 1:02:57>> NPCs, well, we have tools of influence.
- 1:03:00That's why we push ideas like this on
- 1:03:05people, like you can
- 1:03:07>> buy hands, you can wave them
- 1:03:09>> this way, or you can do it that way.
- 1:03:11And the person can decide for
- 1:03:12themselves what's important to them.
- 1:03:13He's
- 1:03:14>> going for right-hand drive cars. He's
- 1:03:15>> just comparing. Like, really, if you
- 1:03:17put all these people in a group, like
- 1:03:19100 of them, they'll
- 1:03:20>> all go and buy left-hand drive cars.
- 1:03:22What do you think? Well, people aren't
- 1:03:23people, they don't look, they don't
- 1:03:25think, they don't know. You're the only
- 1:03:27one with the secret knowledge
- 1:03:29>> that there's a step-gun, and everyone
- 1:03:31else is like, ", step-gun." So,
- 1:03:33Nikitos, you gave us step-gun. Thank
- 1:03:35you very much. Well, like, yeah, no, of
- 1:03:37course, everyone knows. But
- 1:03:38>> look, if they went and bought an
- 1:03:40Octavia,
- 1:03:41>> if you give all these, uh, people the
- 1:03:44trim levels, prices, mileage, condition
- 1:03:47, and year. And then you compare cars
- 1:03:51of the same budget head-on.
- 1:03:53>> People will go buy...Wait, no, people
- 1:03:55will go buy. Now he'll take a rest. No
- 1:03:57one gives a damn.
- 1:03:59>> 8%, Nikitos, 8%. Do
- 1:04:01>> you know what kind of holy war is going
- 1:04:02on on the internet right now? Uh,
- 1:04:04>> you realize there are more LDPR
- 1:04:06supporters.
- 1:04:08>> Well, that's not the best thing right
- 1:04:09now, by the way.
- 1:04:11>> People are mostly from the Far East, of
- 1:04:13course, but it's getting closer to the
- 1:04:15Urals. Now they're starting to get a
- 1:04:19taste for right-hand drive Mercedes and
- 1:04:21BMWs, because for less money you get
- 1:04:23lower mileage, a newer year,
- 1:04:26>> better equipment, and better condition.
- 1:04:28>> Yeah. That's it.
- 1:04:29>> And even in the comments, there are
- 1:04:30guys like that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I get
- 1:04:32it. It's temporary. It's a window of
- 1:04:33opportunity.
- 1:04:34>> Hurry up, hurry up, damn it. There's a
- 1:04:35>> small number of people. You can't get
- 1:04:37everyone into this. The Haval M6 is a
- 1:04:38decent car, it's already been tested by
- 1:04:40the market, nothing major is happening.
- 1:04:42It costs a reasonable amount, like 1.7,
- 1:04:441.8, 1.9 million rubles. And you buy it
- 1:04:46, and you load it with crap from a
- 1:04:48shovel and don't worry about the
- 1:04:49availability of spare parts or service
- 1:04:51centers. You just drive it like any
- 1:04:53other decent, potentially popular car.
- 1:04:56He has a problem with the turbo engine,
- 1:04:57with the fact that it's there, that
- 1:04:59it's a turbo engine in a big car. But
- 1:05:01>> this one is a no-brainer. It's just a
- 1:05:04awesome car. Would
- 1:05:05>> you like to write a top list of
- 1:05:07right-hand drive cars?
- 1:05:08>> Oh, by the way, well,
- 1:05:10>> you write it down and then we'll talk.
- 1:05:11>> Only then with numbers and that, and
- 1:05:13with the offers that exist in the same
- 1:05:14segment. They sell Subaru BRZs.
- 1:05:17>> And what people mostly buy, and you'll
- 1:05:19be surprised.
- 1:05:21>> Exactly.
