5. 0:10different you may have observed that
6. 0:12there is new music which is true but
7. 0:14today i will be giving you a history
8. 0:16lesson today we will talk about richard
9. 0:19nixon and watergate richard nixon was
10. 0:21the one's 36th vice president to dwight
11. 0:24d eisenhower and eventually became
12. 0:27president on january 20th 1969. anyway

15. 0:57sir richard nixon in 1972 just got
16. 1:00re-elected cool i guess
17. 1:02but nixon before getting re-elected
18. 1:05hired two men to break into the
19. 1:06watergate democratic national committee
20. 1:09office building to find dirt on his
21. 1:11rivals the two men were caught and a
22. 1:13year later in 1973
23. 1:16the trial for watergate began
24. 1:19at first nixon doesn't seem to have any
25. 1:21suspicion put upon him but watergate
26. 1:24there james mccord confessed in open
27. 1:27court about a cover-up and nixon seems
28. 1:29to look a little shady also in the same
29. 1:32year nixon's vice president spiro acne
30. 1:35resigns due to bribery and income tax
31. 1:37evasion charges which is good that he
32. 1:40resigned because agnew was a racist
33. 1:42piece of [ __ ] but nixon had to find a
34. 1:44replacement so he chose his house
35. 1:47minority leader gerald ford as his vice
36. 1:49president
37. 1:50what a very sturdy man as vice president
38. 1:53on november 18th nixon goes on
39. 1:56television to declare famously that it's
40. 1:58a crook
41. 1:59well i'm not a crook
42. 2:00i've earned everything i've got but on
43. 2:03august 5th 1974 nixon's white house
44. 2:07tapes are released and they are known as
45. 2:09the smoking gun tapes nixon was very
46. 2:11much screwed even though he released
47. 2:13them so the house has their answer
48. 2:15decided and the verdict
49. 2:20is guilty as [ __ ]

51. 2:43the court was never able to fully
52. 2:45impeach nixon because nixon resigned
53. 2:47before he could have got impeached nixon
54. 2:50went live from the white house and
55. 2:52announced his resignation from the role
56. 2:53of presidency he then left the white
57. 2:56house basically like [ __ ] i'm out of
58. 2:58here i win and gerald ford was like oh
59. 3:01[ __ ] what do i do now

61. 3:09but that was the entire saga of richard
62. 3:11nixon and watergate i hope you young
63. 3:14people learn from this and remember i'm
