- 0:01hey everybody this is a quick video in
- 0:02case you have a Western Digital mycloud
- 0:05and you need to do a hard reset to the
- 0:07factory default settings on it now
- 0:09there's a couple different models it'll
- 0:11work for all of them it's the same
- 0:12procedure um now there's two reasons
- 0:14you're going to want to do this the
- 0:15first one is troubleshooting if you're
- 0:17having any issues where you're unable to
- 0:18access this um and stuff like that a
- 0:21hard reset where it's not working a hard
- 0:22reset can fix a lot of things the other
- 0:24reason is if you um you know just want
- 0:26to get a fresh start on it and get
- 0:27everything wiped off of it and get it
- 0:29back to its Factory three default
- 0:30settings we can go ahead and do this um
- 0:33it's pretty easy to do although it's not
- 0:34super intuitive so all we need to do we
- 0:37need to have power to it and we're going
- 0:39to come around and find the reset button
- 0:40it's a in a little bit different places
- 0:42on a little bit different models so here
- 0:44on this one they're all recessed reset
- 0:46buttons so with your pen or your paper
- 0:47clip or whatever you need to press and
- 0:49hold it for 60 seconds so it's it's a
- 0:53long wait you got to press and hold for
- 0:5460 seconds now you're not going to look
- 0:56for a blink or anything in the LED
- 0:59there's nothing happen just press and
- 1:00hold for 60 seconds and then
- 1:02release it'll seem like nothing's
- 1:04happening at first and then if it worked
- 1:07after about 5 to 10 seconds the the
- 1:09mycloud will turn off and it will all by
- 1:12itself and it will start to reboot so
- 1:15after that reboot the LED will start
- 1:17blinking for 2 to 3 minutes and while
- 1:20it's doing its reset and then it will
- 1:22reboot again and then your mycloud is
- 1:25reset you can go ahead set it up as a
- 1:27brand new device
