  76. 4:36It's so underexposed. [laughter]
  77. 4:39>> Check this one.
  78. 4:42>> Oh my good. This is me. Oh, that's all
  79. 4:44me. That's literally just me. That's me.
  80. 4:48It's so beautiful, bro. [laughter]
  81. 4:50All you can eat sushi. Fourth of July.
  82. 4:53Oh my goodness. 10,000 calories. 4,000 g
  83. 4:58of protein.
  84. 4:59>> You guys haven't gotten yours yet. Haha.
  85. 5:00Making me sad.
  86. 5:02>> Garbage. We'll wait for you. We'll wait.
  87. 5:06>> Absolute cinema. I'm so excited.
  88. 5:12[music]
  89. 5:20I'm full. I'm very full. I just need to
  90. 5:24take a break,
  91. 5:26take a walk around the premises, and
  92. 5:27come back.
  93. 5:33I'm that sushi.
  94. 5:35>> Looking a little
  95. 5:36>> nasty.
  96. 5:36>> Looking a little hungry there, buddy.
  97. 5:39>> We literally have to finish this. Like,
  98. 5:41it's the rule for the all you can eat.
  99. 5:43>> You're going to be our ninth inning
  100. 5:44pitcher, bro.
  101. 5:45>> Yeah.
  102. 5:46>> I'm saving room. And so, these these
  103. 5:49amateurs, if they don't finish, I'm
  104. 5:51saving room in my stomach to eat even
  105. 5:53more. And I already picked off his
  106. 5:55plate. I picked off of his plate. Now,
  107. 5:57I'm just waiting. Dude, you must finish
  108. 6:00all rice. No hiding the rice. That's the
  109. 6:03like that's the best rule ever. It's
  110. 6:05teaching people how to actually eat. You
  111. 6:08know, they say they say that if you
  112. 6:10don't finish your plate, you won't get a
  113. 6:12pretty wife.
  114. 6:13>> And we're all a bunch of plate finishers
  115. 6:15right here, aren't we?
  116. 6:16>> I can feel the in my throat. That's a
  117. 6:18good one.
  118. 6:23Here
  119. 6:26[music]
  120. 6:34we are back in the talking corner in my
  121. 6:37kitchen. I have so many other
  122. 6:38backgrounds in my house, but I like this
  123. 6:40because it feels more dramatic when I
  124. 6:42talk about a topic. Uh, also new feral
  125. 6:44flavors, s'mores creamy rice and s'mores
  126. 6:48protein powder and demonic pre. They
  127. 6:51made Epstein files pre. Okay, I don't
  128. 6:54really agree with the naming
  129. 6:55conventions. You know, maybe we can call
  130. 6:56this sinless s'mores and holy pre. Holy
  131. 7:01pre. Uh, that's what I'm gonna name it.
  132. 7:03So, use code Lukey. This comes out July
  133. 7:0519th. I'm telling you, bro, it's so
  134. 7:07gasoline and it's food and it tastes so
  135. 7:09good. I'm telling you, it tastes so
  136. 7:10good. And that is the actual topic of
  137. 7:12what I wanted to talk about here. Food.
  138. 7:14Gluttony. Gluttony. Okay, you know, we
  139. 7:19all struggle with with every sin in our
  140. 7:21life as we do as people, but the one
  141. 7:23that I feel like is not talked about a
  142. 7:25lot is gluttony. And it's so easy to
  143. 7:27fall into that in this country. And I
  144. 7:28it's it's so normalized. And you know,
  145. 7:31even if you're not Christian and you're
  146. 7:32not coming at it from a Christian
  147. 7:33perspective, it's just like obviously so
  148. 7:36bad for you. I have a really weird
  149. 7:38relationship with food obviously because
  150. 7:39I'm a bodybuilder, but it's sort of
  151. 7:42developed over the past year to
  152. 7:44something really bad. Like I have a bad
  153. 7:47relationship with food. So, I'm going to
  154. 7:49try to tell this as best as I can
  155. 7:50because actually the past like week has
  156. 7:52been really good for me. Maybe talking
  157. 7:54about this is going to trigger me and
  158. 7:55make me slip up again.
  159. 7:56>> It did. Basically, the reason why I'm
  160. 7:58touching on this topic is because
  161. 8:00earlier in the video, I showed off the
  162. 8:01lift and post eating from Fourth of July
  163. 8:04when me and my friends got all you can
  164. 8:05eat sushi. And that day, basically, I
  165. 8:09had planned to only eat the sushi and
  166. 8:12just make that my daily calories for the
  167. 8:14day. And I would have stayed within my
  168. 8:16range, maybe gone a little bit over,
  169. 8:17like I'm eating 2500 calories on
  170. 8:19training days, so I would have been in
  171. 8:21that range after eating that meal. But
  172. 8:24it was eating off plan that sends me
  173. 8:27into this sort of spiral where then I'm
  174. 8:30just like, well, since I already ate off
  175. 8:31plan, now I can just keep going and
  176. 8:34going and going and going and going and
  177. 8:36going and it just doesn't stop until I
  178. 8:39physically cannot eat anymore. It's like
  179. 8:41nothing satisfies me until it genuinely
  180. 8:44hurts. I've entered this either 0 to 100
  181. 8:48habit with food where I just cannot stop
  182. 8:52once I'm off plan. I try to be as strict
  183. 8:55as I possibly can because I know that
  184. 8:57once I go off plan I'll just start
  185. 8:59binging. Like I am the type of person
  186. 9:01who is incredibly prone to binging and
  187. 9:04I'm sure a lot of bodybuilders are. Like
  188. 9:06I didn't really do it much during my
  189. 9:08first prep at all. I didn't do it at all
  190. 9:09during my first prep. The during my
  191. 9:10first prep was the most locked in I'd
  192. 9:12ever been with my diet or anything in my
  193. 9:14entire life. still. But after the sushi,
  194. 9:16we then went to the grocery store, did a
  195. 9:18digestion walk, and then got a full
  196. 9:20cheesecake. And my friends were already
  197. 9:22too full, right? They could only eat
  198. 9:25like a bite of this cheesecake. Me, I
  199. 9:28had three slices, and I wanted more.
  200. 9:30Like, I'm telling you, we were so full
  201. 9:33after that sushi. All of us couldn't eat
  202. 9:35a single bite more. However, once I got
  203. 9:37to the cheesecake, it's like that didn't
  204. 9:38even exist. like they dropped me off at
  205. 9:41my car and I started eating the
  206. 9:43cheesecake in the car immediately. And
  207. 9:45then when we got back to my friend's
  208. 9:46house, I kept eating the cheesecake. I
  209. 9:48kept going and I only stopped because I
  210. 9:50knew I didn't want to fly off the rails
  211. 9:52and keep eating more. But I am telling
  212. 9:54you, bro, I could have taken down the
  213. 9:56entire cheesecake. I wanted to so badly.
  214. 9:58I was walking past it all night just
  215. 10:00looking at it, looking at the
  216. 10:01cheesecake. I want to grab it. I want to
  217. 10:02eat it. I want to eat. And it's just
  218. 10:03like it sends me in this horrible
  219. 10:05spiral. And then I drank a little bit of
  220. 10:07alcohol because, you know, they were all
  221. 10:09drinking and they were playing this
  222. 10:11drinking game and I don't like to drink
  223. 10:12alcohol a lot. And but I'm like, "Okay,
  224. 10:14whatever. I'll just do it." And
  225. 10:16honestly, if I'm going to be honest with
  226. 10:17you, like I don't like the feeling of
  227. 10:19what alcohol does to me and that's why I
  228. 10:20don't drink, but I also don't do it
  229. 10:22because I don't want to like mess up my
  230. 10:23calories for the day and stuff cuz
  231. 10:25alcohol is caloric. But I'm like,
  232. 10:27"Whatever. I already went over so I'll
  233. 10:28have this one beer." But then after I
  234. 10:31drank the beer, I stopped caring even
  235. 10:33more. And then I'm like, "Okay, who
  236. 10:34wants snacks?" Upstairs, more snacks.
  237. 10:37You know, these those Trader Joe's bags
  238. 10:38of pirate booty, just the Trader Joe's
  239. 10:40brand pirate booty down the whole thing.
  240. 10:42I ate so much more. I don't remember
  241. 10:43what else I had there, but I know I was
  242. 10:45just I could not stop snacking. And then
  243. 10:47after we all hung out, I went home. All
  244. 10:50my all the only thing I keep in my house
  245. 10:52is my bodybuilding food. So, I put
  246. 10:54peanut butter in my creamy rice
  247. 10:55sometimes and I have like two slices of
  248. 10:57sourdough for breakfast sometimes.
  249. 10:59Peanut butter is my favorite thing in
  250. 11:00the whole wide world, bro. I love peanut
  251. 11:02butter. I wish I could just cover my
  252. 11:03whole body in peanut butter right now.
  253. 11:07But anyways, I ate the entire loaf of
  254. 11:09sourdough bread. Half the jar of peanut
  255. 11:11butter. It's It's like I'll show It's
  256. 11:13like It's one of these. So, I ate I I
  257. 11:16ate a whole half of that. Oh, I want I
  258. 11:19want to eat it now. And then No, I had
  259. 11:22more. I had three bananas and then I had
  260. 11:24my entire like thing of chicken that I
  261. 11:26cooked. Um I made more creamy rice. Oh,
  262. 11:29and then I make these Greek yogurt
  263. 11:30bowls. So, I made a Greek yogurt bowl as
  264. 11:31well. And then I went to sleep. Had like
  265. 11:34a 5,000 calorie day and absolutely was
  266. 11:39in so much pain. Well, I think I No, I
  267. 11:41didn't even do a digestion walk. I just
  268. 11:43went right to bed. And that just is so
  269. 11:44bad for your digestion. It's so bad for
  270. 11:46your stomach to do that. But I still did
  271. 11:48it. The the It's a mental thing. Like I
  272. 11:50just cannot be satisfied. I can't be
  273. 11:52satiated. I just want more and more and
  274. 11:55more and more and more. And then
  275. 11:57eventually it becomes painful to eat and
  276. 12:00that's when that is when I stop. I have
  277. 12:03very very good discipline like compared
  278. 12:04to like 99.9% of the population. I have
  279. 12:07incredible discipline when it comes to
  280. 12:08food. But it's only when like it's
  281. 12:10either a 0 to 100 discipline type of
  282. 12:12thing. It's not like oh here's a little
  283. 12:14sprinkle. Have a bite of this. It's no a
  284. 12:16bite is not satisfying for me. I don't
  285. 12:18want a bite of a burger. I don't want a
  286. 12:19bite of sushi. I don't want a bite of a
  287. 12:21sweet. I want the whole thing. I want
  288. 12:24all of it and more times three. I I
  289. 12:27don't know. And so then the next day,
  290. 12:30what you're supposed to do after a binge
  291. 12:31like that is make is go right back to
  292. 12:33your like regular calories, regular
  293. 12:35carbs. But I then I did a 24-hour fast
  294. 12:39the next day. And you know, even if you
  295. 12:40fast, you're supposed to have a ton of
  296. 12:42water, a ton of electrolytes. I did
  297. 12:43that. So I went I did a 24-hour fast and
  298. 12:46then went on like a 2 and 1/2 hour walk
  299. 12:48and got like I think like 17,000 steps
  300. 12:51on that walk. So, the bad reason you're
  301. 12:54not supposed to fast right after you
  302. 12:55binge like crazy the day before is
  303. 12:58because it like fries your dopamine
  304. 13:00sensors even more because it's almost
  305. 13:02like you're punishing yourself for
  306. 13:04eating food. It's like, "Oh, you ate too
  307. 13:06much food now the next day." The reason
  308. 13:08I like the fact I like doing a 24-hour
  309. 13:10fast is because it sort of mentally
  310. 13:12resets me and makes me realize, "Oh,
  311. 13:15wait." Like, I don't have to be ruled by
  312. 13:17food. I can go a full day without eating
  313. 13:20and feel amazing, feel perfectly fine
  314. 13:22and normal. So like this one meal that I
  315. 13:25have that maybe won't satisfy me, it's
  316. 13:28more than enough. And it's almost like I
  317. 13:30am ruled by food 24/7. My day is formed
  318. 13:35around like when's the next meal, when
  319. 13:36can I eat next, and then I eat and then
  320. 13:38it's not satisfying. And I have to like
  321. 13:40literally get my mind off food. It's all
  322. 13:42I think about. I'm literally ruled by
  323. 13:44food. And so the fast kind of helps and
  324. 13:46makes me realize I don't need to be
  325. 13:47ruled by the food. And yeah, it does
  326. 13:49mentally reset me. And it feels good. I
  327. 13:51like the feeling of being empty. That's
  328. 13:53what's so weird. Like a fast is good.
  329. 13:56And especially if you're doing for like
  330. 13:57a biblical fast sort of thing, which I
  331. 13:59don't do often. Maybe I should try it.
  332. 14:01The number one thing that's actually
  333. 14:03helped me so much is praying before I
  334. 14:06eat. Cuz like right before I'm about to
  335. 14:08eat the meal, that's when I'm like I'm
  336. 14:09like salivating like a dog. I'm like, I
  337. 14:10need to eat this now. I need to eat this
  338. 14:11now. It's right in front of me. like I
  339. 14:13can't I have to have this right now. But
  340. 14:15if I just stop and just like pray and be
  341. 14:19so grateful for the food I'm about to
  342. 14:21eat. Thank you, Lord, for the food I'm
  343. 14:23about to eat right now. I think I thank
  344. 14:25I thank God for my day, for my life, for
  345. 14:27the blessings, for the challenges. And I
  346. 14:29thank him for the meal. And that
  347. 14:32actually eliminates the anxiety cuz it's
  348. 14:34it comes from a place of anxiety. The
  349. 14:36reason why I want to do it, it's anxiety
  350. 14:38eating. It removes it completely. And
  351. 14:40then I can just enjoy the meal.
  352. 14:41Gratitude is the antithesis of anxiety.
  353. 14:44So, if I'm so thankful for this meal
  354. 14:47that I'm about to eat, like I get to
  355. 14:49just literally go to my microwave for 30
  356. 14:51seconds and get a full meal right in
  357. 14:53front of me when there's people on the
  358. 14:55other side of the world literally
  359. 14:56starving who have no access to food. How
  360. 14:59freaking selfish and self-righteous am I
  361. 15:04to like want more and more and more? I
  362. 15:07want so much more when I can go a full
  363. 15:10day without eating and feel perfectly
  364. 15:11fine. Like I can eat this one meal and
  365. 15:13be satisfied and in 10 minutes I won't
  366. 15:16even be hungry because I already had the
  367. 15:17meal. It takes like it takes time for
  368. 15:19your brain to kind of register that
  369. 15:20you've eaten and that you're full. But
  370. 15:21yeah, the the number one struggle it is

  379. 15:40with the same thing. Um, you know, I
  380. 15:43don't have the concrete answer for it
  381. 15:45because it's still an ongoing struggle
  382. 15:47for me, but there's a few things that
  383. 15:48work and there's a few things I haven't
  384. 15:50been able to solve yet. So, you know,
  385. 15:52let me know if you guys relate to that.
  386. 15:53But yeah, that's that's that's sort of
  387. 15:54what it is. You know, that that's all.
  388. 15:56Hey, it's Fourth of July. You know,
  389. 15:58let's enjoy it. What are you supposed to
  390. 16:00do on Fourth of July? You're supposed to
  391. 16:01light off fireworks, huh? You're
  392. 16:03supposed to light off fireworks. If only
  393. 16:04there was a awesome firework montage in
  394. 16:06the next 3 seconds.
