- 0:24holder

- 0:30she and her co-producer were able to
- 0:32make that record, how they thought of it

- 0:41to the show.
- 0:43>> Good afternoon, Mr. Good afternoon and
- 0:45everyone see you.
- 0:48>> How are you today?
- 0:50Hen very long day but I'm very straight
- 0:53day.
- 0:54>> I saw your post on Sunday when you said
- 0:56your shoulders were high today.
- 0:59>> Are your shoulders still high?
- 1:02>> No, they're not high anymore. Up to be
- 1:04normal.
- 1:05>> You have moved to the next and thinking
- 1:07of how to bring people to the cinema.
- 1:09Right.
- 1:11>> Yes, that's exactly where we are right
- 1:13now.
- 1:14>> Okay. So now let's let's let's take it.
- 1:16How did the idea come after you? Was it
- 1:20before you shot the movie? Was it after
- 1:22you uh the movie was done? How did the
- 1:25idea come? So the first idea actually
- 1:29came oh be
- 1:32and the idea the story idea came from
- 1:35non and I was starting scripting and all
- 1:37of that is fil workers what do you want
- 1:42to do with it was just orchestrating the
- 1:44cinema or what what exactly can we do
- 1:48differently with it so nor
- 1:52was like a very good springing and then
- 1:56what you
- 1:58So what in this big school and we bear a
- 2:02lot
- 2:05while I was on the internet and all that
- 2:08some people had done this before in the
- 2:12Philippines and G3,000. So what if we
- 2:15gone for 50,000 to pick that record
- 2:25that was the whole idea came that idea
- 2:28to even before our script
- 2:33he started even before um how wanted all
- 2:39the story to was age
- 2:46and all that
- 2:48from almost that we want to exch
- 2:56>> How does it feel to think of an idea as
- 2:59big as that and then it happens the
- 3:04deputy governor was there the president
- 3:06has congratulate you guys how does it
- 3:08feel
- 3:10>> honestly very open but it seems very
- 3:13ongoing
- 3:15you know it's one thing to have an idea
- 3:18I'm agreeing with the idea carrying it
- 3:20in your head it's another thing to
- 3:24Nigerians to support you for brands to
- 3:27support you or colleagues
- 3:30I'm really sure
- 3:34that's serious you know the reason why
- 3:37fish always
- 3:39because the girlfriends on people with
- 3:41who sat down to watch the film from the
- 3:44king. Oh
- 3:47no.
- 3:54>> Wow. studies
- 3:58>> but for us it means that Nigerians said
- 4:02don't be round
- 4:06from the dead go it wasn't a oh victory
- 4:10it wasn't a lonely victory it wasn't a
- 4:13victory just for the cast and it was
- 4:15something he just wanted to do for
- 4:17Nigeria for the culture like for putting
- 4:21let's do something to put Nigeria on the
- 4:23global
- 4:25with your space that we know very well
- 4:28that we operate very well that we excel
- 4:31on that.
- 4:33>> Okay.
- 4:44and writing the name Nollywood on a
- 4:46global scale feels very very
- 4:49>> hungry.
- 4:49>> All right. Congratulations again. So
- 4:52black market you are back in the cinema
- 4:55on Friday. I'm I'm sure you realize
- 4:58about six seven equally big movies in
- 5:02the cinema presently. What stands black
- 5:05market out apart from the fact that it
- 5:07has a GWR on the poster? What stands it
- 5:11out? Why should people watch it black
- 5:14market with their hard earn money?
- 5:19>> We should watch a black woman and one
- 5:21because one it's a leisurely
- 5:25absole kids or super nurtur secondly the
- 5:29story the performances of this film this
- 5:33film took every in for every actor every
- 5:37cast member that was part of it. You
- 5:39would laugh, you will cry, you will see
- 5:41yourself. This film will help you make
- 5:43better decisions. You know, this is one
- 5:45film that I kind of play in backside in
- 5:49ways as executive producer, as producer,
- 5:52also as an actor in it. So, um, everyone
- 5:56on the project gave everything. The
- 5:59story is very freely. [snorts] The story
- 6:02is very different. you will see actors
- 6:04in in roles and characters that they've
- 6:08never played before. Um, yeah. So, just
- 6:13like a business where you should go
- 6:14watch a B rocket. You never I can't say
- 6:16you've never seen anything like this
- 6:18before, but because they'll tell you no
- 6:20story is different to other person, but
- 6:22this one is very different. Is very
- 6:25unique.
- 6:26>> Okay. So, you have played. Hi, ami.
- 6:30Okay. So, you have played big and you
- 6:32have won. You've done something
- 6:33fantastic and you've um you rode out on
- 6:36a high. I'm thinking um the cinema is a
- 6:40different ball game from the premiere.
- 6:42You've done a premiere like no other one
- 6:44and now you're back to the cinema. Are
- 6:46you prepared for the regals of the
- 6:49cinema that the Nigerian cinema space
- 6:51already um has irrespective of whatever
- 6:55um successes the film has recorded
- 6:58outside of the cinema? Are you prepared
- 7:00for what the cinema wants is going to
- 7:02take? And then I think I read that it
- 7:04was going to be a limited release or a
- 7:07short release. I'm not sure which is
- 7:09which it is. Can you clarify that be?
- 7:12>> It's a limited um release.
- 7:15>> Okay.
- 7:17diagnosis so you won't be in your cinema
- 7:19for too long because I'll tell you for a
- 7:22fact um what we needed it to do which
- 7:26was to break the record he's already
- 7:28done but ed will tell you that it wasn't
- 7:31every Nigerian that was at TBS that date
- 7:34every Nigerian also deserves to see
- 7:38market which is why we're taking it to
- 7:40the cinema but every
- 7:44film and the cinema deserves a chance to
- 7:46thrive Right. So
- 7:50I feel like it has it definitely be like
- 7:52every film at the same it has a chance
- 7:55to drive as well. But um it's not my
- 7:58first time at the cinema as an executive
- 8:00producer. I was a producer every went
- 8:04everywhere with it but this is a very
- 8:08different one. So it will do what it
- 8:10will do and the cinemas everyone wants
- 8:13to watch it when they can see it.
- 8:17>> Okay.
- 8:18>> And how long is it going to be? How long
- 8:21is it going to be in the cinema for
- 8:24>> as of now we do have plans for two weeks
- 8:27for if Nigerians will for more than
- 8:29that?
- 8:32>> Go back to the dream when I think about
- 8:34it.
- 8:36Um, honestly, if you were to I mean, you
- 8:38you your your goal was to make a
- 8:40Guinness World Record. Your goal was to
- 8:42break a world record and you did that.
- 8:45Congratulations. But I want to ask
- 8:47honestly, was it financially rewarding?
- 8:50Because I mean, a lot of people will
- 8:52look at it that, oh yeah, 51,000.
- 8:54They'll start calculating, bringing that
- 8:55calculator and, you know, summing up the
- 8:57numbers and thinking that, oh yeah,
- 8:59you've made your money. You've made the
- 9:00money you used to make the film now, so
- 9:02you don't need this cinema money. Do you
- 9:03understand? So,
- 9:07Uh I can for the fact that you can't
- 9:10make enough money
- 9:12>> or if you because it's your work of arts
- 9:15crime genions or it's still not
- 9:18it's still not enough because you cannot
- 9:21um quantify an intellectual property.
- 9:25>> Do you understand?
- 9:26>> Yes. So it wasn't financially
- 9:29rewarding. That what you're saying
- 9:33the events.
- 9:34>> Yes. the um event itself.
- 9:42>> She had a whole lot of money made money
- 9:45back. I I I can't tell you that beating
- 9:48back. I can't tell you that was not
- 9:53okay. So that would help. Thank you for
- 9:57that political response.
- 10:02>> All right. Omi, thank you so much for
- 10:04speaking to us at the shortest of time.
- 10:08Um, we wish you more Guinness World
- 10:12Record. We wish you the best at the
- 10:15cinema. We are here shouting and
- 10:18screaming for you.
- 10:20>> Thank you so much, sir.
- 10:22>> All right.
- 10:23>> I think you just
- 10:26>> All right. Thank you.
