- 0:00What if one AI could answer your
- 0:01business phone in under a second for 8
- 0:03cents a minute? XAI just launched Grock
- 0:06Voice 3.0. XAI says Starlink uses it for
- 0:0920,000 customer calls a day. About 70%
- 0:12get solved with no human. Outside
- 0:14testing ranks it above OpenAI and
- 0:16Google. But there's a catch. Most videos
- 0:18skip. I'll [snorts] show you what it
- 0:20does, what it costs, and how people sell
- 0:22it to businesses. Stay for the catch.
- 0:24Hey there. So, if you're new here, I'm
- 0:26Nick Ponte's AI avatar. While The Real
- 0:29Nick is busy helping businesses with
- 0:31Minina Marketing, Hawaii's fastest
- 0:32growing marketing agency, I'm here
- 0:34dropping the latest AI hacks, tools, and
- 0:37money-making strategies. The Real Nick

- 0:41videos. So, make sure you comment below.
- 0:43And hey, if you're serious about landing
- 0:45some AI subscription-based customers,
- 0:47grab my AI cash flow master class that I
- 0:49am currently offering for free. The
- 0:51links in the description. [snorts] All
- 0:52right, now let's get into it.
- 0:56Let's start with what happened. On
- 0:57October 14th, XAI announced Grock Voice
- 1:003.0. It's a speech-to-pech model. That
- 1:03means it listens to your voice and
- 1:05answers with a voice. It doesn't turn
- 1:07your words into text first and then back
- 1:09into sound. It works with the sound
- 1:10itself. That's a big reason it can feel
- 1:13quick. Developers can use it through
- 1:14XAI's voice agent API. And if you built
- 1:17on the old version, you didn't have to
- 1:19do a thing. XAI says agents on its
- 1:21latest setting moved over on their own.
- 1:23The old version is now marked as
- 1:25deprecated. The price didn't change.
- 1:27It's 8 cents a minute. That's $4.80 for
- 1:30a full hour of talking. That's from
- 1:32XAI's own docs. Why does that matter?
- 1:35Because most phone systems feel slow.
- 1:37You talk, there's a pause, then a stiff
- 1:40voice answers. People hate that. A model
- 1:43built to listen and speak at the same
- 1:45time is aiming to fix exactly that.
- 1:48Everything in this video comes from
- 1:50XAI's pages and docs, plus one outside
- 1:52group that tests these models. I'll tell
- 1:54you when a number is XAI's own claim.
- 1:57Quick rule before we go on. A launch
- 1:59post is a sales page. So ask one
- 2:01question about every big number. Who
- 2:03measured it? I'll tell you each time.
- 2:08Speed is the whole story here. So let's
- 2:10check it. XAI says the first sound comes
- 2:12out in under 1 second. That's the pause
- 2:15between you finishing a sentence and the
- 2:17AI starting to talk. A short pause feels
- 2:20like a real person. A long pause feels
- 2:22like a bad phone line. Now for an
- 2:24outside check. A group called Artificial
- 2:26Analysis tests voice models. It puts
- 2:29Grock Voice 3.0 at number one on its
- 2:32speechtoech index. The score is 86.9.
- 2:35Open AAI's GPT Live scored 83.2.
- 2:39Google's Gemini Live scored 82.6.
- 2:42On its model page, artificial analysis
- 2:44lists the first sound at about 8/10 of a
- 2:47second for Grock. For GPT Live, it's
- 2:49about 1.3 seconds. That's a gap you can
- 2:51hear. Those numbers can move as models
- 2:53update, so check the page for yourself.
- 2:56Another test matters a lot for phones.
- 2:58It's called full duplex bench. It checks
- 3:01pauses, taking turns, and being
- 3:03interrupted. Gro scored 97% according to
- 3:06XAI's page. Real callers talk over you.
- 3:09They say wait or hold on. A voice AI
- 3:12that can't handle that sounds like a
- 3:14robot. There's one more outside test.
- 3:16It's called EVA Bench from Service Now.
- 3:19It uses over 200 work scenarios like
- 3:22customer service, IT help, and HR
- 3:24questions. XAI says Grock scored 74%
- 3:28accuracy, the highest reported. Here's
- 3:30the number to remember. Under 1 second.
- 3:33That pause is where a caller decides
- 3:35it's a person or a machine. Win that
- 3:38pause and everything else gets easier.
- 3:42Now for the catch I promised. Grock
- 3:44doesn't win everything. On a test that
- 3:46simulates customer support calls called
- 3:49towoice, OpenAI's GPT Live scored 74.5%.
- 3:54Grock scored 71.6. XAI calls that
- 3:57comparable. It also says Grock gets
- 3:59there with 40% lower latency. So it's
- 4:01close, not a blowout. Fast is great, but
- 4:04fast and wrong is just a quick mistake.
- 4:06So, don't judge any model by one number.
- 4:09Look at the whole picture.
- 4:12I didn't quit my job with a big plan. I
- 4:14got fired. That was the moment I
- 4:16realized I had to figure things out on
- 4:18my own. So, when I see a phone AI that
- 4:20works around the clock, I don't just see
- 4:22a threat. I see a skill someone can
- 4:24learn and offer to others. It still
- 4:27takes work to learn. Real quick before I
- 4:29keep going, if you've been watching this
- 4:30and thinking, "Okay, this AI stuff is
- 4:33interesting, but how do I actually turn
- 4:35it into income?" That's exactly why I
- 4:37built the free AI cash flow masterass.
- 4:39This isn't some surface level overview.
- 4:41It's a real walkthrough of how people
- 4:43are using simple AI workflows right now
- 4:45to build actual income streams online.
- 4:48Inside you'll see the specific AI
- 4:50services businesses are already paying
- 4:52for. Workflows you can set up without
- 4:54any coding or technical background. How
- 4:56to spot the businesses already dealing
- 4:58with what I call AI guilt. Meaning they
- 5:00know they're behind, they want help, and
- 5:02they're ready to pay for it. and how to
- 5:04turn that into income that keeps coming
- 5:06back. In other words, this is the bridge
- 5:08between watching a video like this one
- 5:10and actually getting paid. If you want
- 5:12to see exactly how it works, the links
- 5:14in the description and pinned in the
- 5:16comments. Now, let's get back into it.
- 5:20Now, to the Starlink story. Here's what
- 5:22XAI says. Starlink's call centers answer
- 5:25about 20,000 customer calls every day in
- 5:28multiple languages. Roughly 70% get
- 5:30resolved with no human in the loop. And
- 5:33one in four sales calls ends in a
- 5:35purchase before the caller hangs up. XAI
- 5:37also says one agent can check who the
- 5:39customer is, troubleshoot the hardware,
- 5:41give a credit, and ship replacement
- 5:43equipment. That's a full job, not just a
- 5:46hello. Tesla is the other example. XAI
- 5:49says its voice tech handles millions of
- 5:51conversations a day in Tesla cars. Think
- 5:54checking your calendar or booking dinner
- 5:56hands-free. Here's your clue, not a
- 5:58fact. Every one of those numbers comes
- 6:00from XAI itself. I couldn't find an
- 6:02outside check of the Starlink or Tesla
- 6:04figures. Treat them as a direction, not
- 6:07a promise. Even if the real numbers are
- 6:09lower, the direction is clear.
- 6:13Now, picture a plumber, a dentist, or a
- 6:16hair salon. The phone rings while
- 6:18they're busy with a customer. Nobody
- 6:20picks up. That caller goes to the next
- 6:22shop. A missed call is a lost customer.
- 6:25Business owners don't care about
- 6:27benchmarks. They care about one thing.
- 6:29Did the phone get answered? and did the
- 6:31job get booked? That's the pitch. Not a
- 6:34fancy model name, fewer missed calls. A
- 6:37voice AI can pick up, answer common
- 6:39questions, and book the visit. That's
- 6:41the kind of service people are starting
- 6:43to offer. You don't need your own call
- 6:45center. You need a good setup, a clear
- 6:47script, and a plan for when a human
- 6:49takes over. And that last part matters.
- 6:52Angry callers, tricky cases, and
- 6:55anything with real risk should go to a
- 6:57person. Good setups tell the caller
- 6:59what's going on. They don't pretend to
- 7:01be a human. They also make it easy to
- 7:03reach one. That builds trust. And trust
- 7:06compounds faster than any ad.
- 7:10Let's do the math because this is where
- 7:12people get surprised. A 4-minute call
- 7:15costs 32 cents at XAI sticker price. Say
- 7:18a shop gets 50 calls a day and each
- 7:21lasts 4 minutes. That's 200 minutes a
- 7:23day, $16 a day, about $480 over 30 days.
- 7:28That's only the voice. You need a phone
- 7:30line, too. And XAI's docs show a Twilio
- 7:33phone agent demo for that. Phone
- 7:35service, extra tools, and long calls all
- 7:38add cost. You pay by the minute, so a
- 7:41chatty or confused call costs more.
- 7:43Check those prices yourself before you
- 7:45quote anyone. Here's a quick check you
- 7:47can do today. Call any voice agent demo.
- 7:49Interrupt it in the middle of a
- 7:50sentence. then say nothing for three
- 7:52seconds. If it handles both, it's worth
- 7:55testing further.
- 7:58Here's one idea you can reuse on any
- 8:00voice AI, not just this one. Ask three
- 8:03questions. Is it fast? Does it handle
- 8:05interruptions? Can it finish the job?
- 8:08Fast is the pause. Interruptions are the
- 8:10full duplex test. And finishing the job
- 8:13means it can take an action, like
- 8:14checking a calendar or booking a visit.
- 8:17XAI's docs say you turn on tools when
- 8:19you set up a session. If it can talk but
- 8:21can't act, it's a greeting, not a
- 8:24worker. Here's an easy way to test all
- 8:26three at once. Ask the AI what time the
- 8:28shop closes on Saturday. Halfway through
- 8:30its answer, say, "Wait, I mean Sunday."
- 8:33A good one stops, fixes it, and keeps
- 8:36going. A weak one keeps talking over
- 8:38you.
- 8:41Here's a simple plan. Step one, open the
- 8:43XAI console and find the voice docs.
- 8:46XAI's page says you can try it free, but
- 8:49I couldn't confirm how many free minutes
- 8:50you get. Step two, try the Twilio phone
- 8:54agent demo from the docs or the voice
- 8:56demo. Step three, write a short job
- 8:59description for the AI, who it is, what
- 9:01it can answer, and when it hands off to
- 9:03a human. Step four, call it 10 times.
- 9:07Interrupt it, go quiet, ask something
- 9:09odd, then write down where it broke.
- 9:12Here's my take. A fast voice is the easy
- 9:14part. Now, the hard part is the job
- 9:16behind the voice. Know the business.
- 9:19Know the handoff. And you're the one
- 9:21people need.
- 9:24Think of a calculator. It didn't replace
- 9:26the accountant. It replaced the slow
- 9:28math. Voice AI is shaping up the same
- 9:31way. It replaces the slow phone tree,
- 9:33not the person who understands the
- 9:34business. A phone AI that answers in
- 9:37under a second is much easier to sell
- 9:39than one that makes people wait. But
- 9:41keep your feet on the ground. This
- 9:42launched on October 14th. It's new. The
- 9:45big call center numbers come from XAI.
- 9:47Callers with heavy background noise,
- 9:49strong accents, or odd requests may trip
- 9:52it up. I haven't tested those cases, so
- 9:54test them before you promise anything.
- 9:56And nobody can promise you clients, and
- 9:58I won't either. So, here's how I'd think
- 10:00about it. Pick one kind of business.
- 10:02Write down the five questions its
- 10:04callers ask most. Run the three tests,
- 10:06then decide if it's worth offering.
- 10:08Before you go, let's bring this back to
- 10:10you. If everything I just walked through
- 10:12has you thinking about how to actually
- 10:13make money with AI, not just play around
- 10:15with it. That's exactly what the free AI
- 10:18cash flow master class is built for.
- 10:20It's not theory. It's a real
- 10:22step-by-step breakdown of how people are
- 10:24using simple AI workflows to build
- 10:26income streams right now. Inside, you'll
- 10:28get access to a free 30-day trial of the
- 10:31exact software I use to land clients and
- 10:33run my own business on top of everything
- 10:35else in the training. You'll also get
- 10:37access to the AI control room, my
- 10:39private community of AI operators and
- 10:41business owners building right alongside
- 10:42you. If you want in, the links in the
- 10:45description and pinned in the top
- 10:46comment. Go check it out. Then come back
- 10:48and let me know what you build with
