3:15Florida where they attended nursing
3:18school together and then proceeded into
3:20anesthesiology School Cody graduated
3:23from his anesthesiology program while
3:26Grant dropped out and he was able to
3:29find work at the hospital Advent Health
3:31Orlando as a nurse Grant was suspended
3:35from his job in June 2018 Under
3:38Suspicion of stealing and improperly
3:41administering medication to patients and
3:43for suicidal thought although officers
3:46denied the allegations that he was
3:47suicidal saying he didn't meet the
3:50criteria to be a danger to himself or
3:52others around him they concluded there
3:54was evidence to the claim of improper
3:57medicine Administration Hospital staff
3:59had beforehand found eight empty vials
4:03of the sedative propofol in two rooms
4:06that Grant had been overseeing which
4:09hadn't been ordered by any doctors when
4:12confronted during his suspension he said
4:15that he had administrated he said that
4:17he had administered the drug to patients
4:20who were not being adequately relaxed
4:23the hospital then fired and subsequently
4:26arrested him for Grand Larceny after the
4:29investigation concluded but the charges
4:32were later dropped on the morning of
4:34January 25th 2019 authorities were sent
4:38to a chulio to Florida home for a
4:41welfare check as stated by the Seminole
4:43County Sheriff's Office they were
4:45contacted by 31 year old Cody Amato's
4:48co-worker when he failed to report to
4:51work and could not be read according to
4:53the co-worker Cody had never missed the
4:56day of work since he was hired by Advent
4:59Hospital East Orlando when authorities
5:01arrived on scene they initially knocked
5:04on the front door however as nobody
5:06responded the deputies began walking
5:08around the perimeter of the home
5:10knocking on all of the windows and doors
5:13when nobody responded to the knocking
5:15they had to open the windows and doors
5:17they were all lost authorities noted
5:19there was a car in the driveway and two
5:21others in the garage which indicated
5:23someone should be inside the house
5:25therefore according to the Seminole
5:27County Sheriff's Office Deputy modern
5:29used a knife to bypass the deadbolt on
5:33the front front door so he and his
5:35colleagues could enter the home once
5:37inside they made a gruesome Discovery as
5:41reported by the Seminole County
5:43Sheriff's Office the deputies found a
5:45white male who was later identified as
5:4759 year old Chad Amato laying on his
5:50back on the kitchen floor authorities
5:52noted Chad was surrounded by a pool of
5:54blood and was determined to be deceased
5:56as they continued their search of the
5:58home deputies found Chad's son 31 year
6:01old Cody Amato laying in a fetal
6:04position on the floor of a storage room
6:06with blood seeping from his eyes 61 year
6:10old Margaret Amato Chad's wife was found
6:14in her office seated in a chair with her
6:16upper body slumped on the desk and
6:18covered in blood both Cody and Margaret
6:21were also declared dead Authority said
6:24they knew the family as they had been
6:26called to the residents on at least one
6:28other occasion and noted Chad and
6:31Margaret's other son 29 year year old
6:33Grant was the absent from the scene they
6:37also determined his vehicle was not in
6:39the driveway or the garage Margaret

9:51prohibited him from sending her money or
9:54continuing to talk to her although he
9:57initially agreed Grant said he decided
9:59to continue speaking with her as they
10:02were in a relationship when his dad Chad
10:04learned that Grant was still in contact
10:06with the woman and was stealing money to
10:09send to her Chad told Grant to move out
10:11as a result Grant and his father got
10:14into a verbal altercation that began to
10:16turn physical according to the Seminole
10:18County Sheriff's Office Grant said he
10:20eventually left the house however he
10:23insisted he did not physically harm or
10:26kill anyone before he left Grant a model
10:29was ultimately determined to be solely
10:32responsible for the deaths of both his
10:34parents and his brother he was
10:37subsequently arrested and charged with
10:39three counts of first-degree
10:40premeditated murder Grant to this day
10:44has maintained his innocent his defense

10:51investigate any other suspects in the
10:54murders however prosecutors insisted

11:48internet and sex addiction the killings
11:50prosecutors claim were the culmination
11:53of a downward spiral of their son Grant
11:55a motto he was arrested at his nursing
11:58job accused of stealing medication
12:00leading to a depressive episode that
12:03left him isolated he developed an
12:05infatuation for the webcam model from
12:08Bulgaria he met on an adult website and
12:11stole hundreds of thousands of dollars

12:15himself as rich and successful he then
12:18ignored his father's ultimatum to stop

22:50they had to have been looking for you
22:52there's no way that Mom Dad or Cody owed

22:59looking for them because of something

23:07like that right because nothing was

23:11people that are looking to compensate
23:14for financial obligations would have

23:20monetarily things
23:23from what I've been advised that is not

23:28that believes that the people were
23:31murdered for the reason that they were
23:34in the way of getting to something else

31:21streaming website a model spent about
31:23four hours every night watching Sylvie
31:25dance and model he purchased 5 000
31:28tokens at a time for six hundred dollars
31:31her shows cost 90 tokens per minute to
31:34view eventually he began sending Sylvie
31:37clothes and sex toys which she would
31:40model for viewers he admitted to
31:42stealing about two hundred thousand
31:44dollars from his family and conceded he
31:47may have made a mistake during the
31:49interview with Detective he tells them
31:51spending that amount of money is idiotic
31:54especially when you're not making it by
31:57the beginning of December 2018 Grand
32:00Amado situations seemed to be improving
32:02the grand theft charge stemming from the
32:05hospital incident had been dropped and
32:07he Cody Yamato and a friend took a long
32:10planned trip to Japan but when he
32:13returned December 15th Gran Amato said
32:16his dad was overbearing still upset
32:18about the theft and that Grant hadn't

33:09bank account and thought she had been
33:11hacked but she'd later discover Grandma

33:17belonging to Grant a model's grandmother

33:22of his cousins were found on his
33:24computer after the killing his aunt
33:26Donna said she received calls from the
33:28rest of the family who urged her not to
33:31press charges Cody a model promised to
33:34pay back any of his brother's fraudulent
33:37expenses Grant's dad Chad broke down
33:40during his phone call with his
33:42sister-in-law this was the first time
33:44Donna Amado said she had heard him cry
33:47in the 27 years she knew him he said he
33:50had personally taken care of a hundred
33:53and fifty thousand dollars worth of debt
33:55by remortgaging his house Donna says he
34:00told me on the phone yeah I'm going to
34:02have to work a few more years than I
34:05thought I'd have to but it's okay I'll
34:07do it for Grant I don't want him to go
34:09to jail amado's family took shifts
34:11outside Donna amado's home to prevent
34:14Grant from escaping early on December
34:1722nd they surprised him in her driveway
34:20and drove him to a voluntary Rehab
34:22Clinic in South Florida after he
34:25returned January 5th a model's father
34:27sat him down at the California Pizza
34:29Kitchen in Waterford Lake and presented
34:31him with a list of handwritten rules if
34:33he wanted to remain in the home by this
34:36point Grant's brother Cody had paid
34:38eight thousand dollars for a model's
34:41attorney ten thousand dollars for the
34:43trip to Japan and had committed to
34:45paying for Grant fifteen thousand dollar
34:47rehab State Chad Amato had let a
34:51fraudulent line of credit filed by Grant
34:54go through so it wouldn't be reported
34:56among the rules Grant was to get a job
34:58during the day and stop spending the
35:00entire night online his phone service
35:02would be terminated and he needed to go
35:05to therapy his family would no longer
35:08pay for his debt this is critical as
35:10Grant through his past transgressions
35:12had relied on the knowledge the family
35:15would not report him and would cover him

36:04grabbed him by the shirt told him to
36:07pack up his things and leave initially a
36:10model told detectives it took a few
36:12hours for him to pack up his things he
36:14claimed he left about 9 30 p.m and met
36:18Cody Yamato outside the neighborhood to
36:20tell him what had happened but a model
36:22later admitted he lied he left closer to
36:25midnight and his brother was home he
36:28claimed he spent the night in the
36:29parking lot of a nearby Publix before
36:32driving to a job interview off Lee Vista
36:35Road in Gran Amato's car a crime scene
36:39analyst found a handwritten note that
36:41appeared to have been written from kodia
36:43model's perspective Grant I'll take care
36:46of all your problem I just need you back
36:49I can't live without you brother said
36:51I'd take care of all your problems at
36:53the house and I have no one will bother
36:55you again regarding this just please
36:58come home Grant a model admitted to a
37:01detective that he had written the letter
37:03saying he was jotting down his
37:05recollection of the last conversation he
37:08had with his brother he couldn't explain
37:10why it was written in the first person
37:12from Cody's point of view Grant a
37:15motto's relatives told detectives they
37:17couldn't understand why he would have
37:19killed his brother Cody would have spent
37:22his last dollar to save him Donna a
37:25motto the ant told investigators however
37:29authorities have suggested they suspect
37:31Grant a model sought to implicate his
37:34brother in the killings something
37:35Sheriff's spokesman Bob Keeling called a
37:38reasonable assumption two of a model's
37:41friends also accused him of lying during

38:36has a plaque that was made in her honor

38:54Amato's trial prosecutors alleged that
38:56he killed each of his family members
38:58then staged the scene to make it look
39:01like a murder-suicide carried out by his
39:03brother Cody by placing a gun close to
39:06him Chad Amato was also found wearing a
39:09gun in a holster on his right hip but
39:11because of the way the holster was
39:13facing Chad would have had to draw the
39:15gun with his left hand the problem was
39:18he was right-handed four shell cases
39:21were also found at the crime scene
39:23investigators determined that neither
39:25gun in the home was used in the murders
39:27and the shell cases weren't from bullets
39:30that killed the victims the murder
39:31weapon was never found Gran tomato has
39:35been found guilty and has been sentenced
39:38to life in prison when asked if he feels
39:41remorse a model responded my family has
39:45been blaming me for months for ruining
39:48their lives stealing and not following
39:50the rules of the home so I might as well
39:52be blamed for this too rest in peace
