  1. 0:00So, there's a video going around right
  2. 0:01now that's telling local business owners
  3. 0:03that Google IO, it's their Google's
  4. 0:05annual event, just ended SEO as they
  5. 0:08know it. And the fix is a brand new
  6. 0:09playbook, new tools, new files, a new
  7. 0:11way to build your site for the robots.
  8. 0:13Now, I run an SEO agency for a living
  9. 0:16focused on local SEO. So, I'm going to
  10. 0:18go ahead and watch this video with you
  11. 0:20and break down what's accurate and what
  12. 0:23might need a bit of a rework. Now, most
  13. 0:25of what changed at IO doesn't change
  14. 0:28anything about the fundamental work of
  15. 0:30SEO. And there's one move in here that
  16. 0:32he tells you to make today that Google
  17. 0:34itself has said it does nothing for your
  18. 0:36visibility. I'm going to show you
  19. 0:38exactly where this falls apart. So,
  20. 0:40let's go ahead and get started. Google
  21. 0:42just ended search as we know it, and the
  22. 0:44evidence is already sitting in your
  23. 0:46Google Search Console. Your impressions
  24. 0:48are going up, but your clicks are going
  25. 0:49down. And that's not an accident. That's
  26. 0:51AI answering searches before anybody
  27. 0:53even reaches your website. Combine that
  28. 0:55with what Google just shipped at io
  29. 0:58search agents that not only browse the
  30. 1:00web for you, but can book for you,
  31. 1:02purchase for you, and even submit leads
  32. 1:03for you without you ever visiting your
  33. 1:05website. And you have a complete rewrite
  34. 1:08of what it means to get found online.
  35. 1:10And if you don't adapt, your SEO, your
  36. 1:13leads, and your sales will quietly
  37. 1:15disappear.
  38. 1:15>> So, this is clearly a bit of fear
  39. 1:18framing here. Uh not surprisingly uh
  40. 1:20that being said, the fundamental change
  41. 1:22that Google talked about at IO was that
  42. 1:25search becomes a center for controlling
  43. 1:28AI agents. What that does mean is that
  44. 1:32for 25 years, we've been building
  45. 1:34websites to rank on Google, but then
  46. 1:37writing the content of those websites to
  47. 1:39convert users, real humans who are
  48. 1:41reading the content. That will change.
  49. 1:44uh that is what Google announced that
  50. 1:46now we have to write websites to get
  51. 1:49recommended by AI and write websites to
  52. 1:52convert the AI. Humans won't be looking
  53. 1:54at your websites anymore in the near
  54. 1:57future. But just because an AI is
  55. 2:00reading your website and not humans,
  56. 2:02that doesn't mean your leads and your
  57. 2:05traffic and all of that are going to go
  58. 2:06away completely because the AI uses
  59. 2:09fundamentally very similar techniques to
  60. 2:13read and evaluate your website content
  61. 2:15that Google's own algorithm does. But in
  62. 2:18this video, I'm going to show you
  63. 2:19exactly what changed, the one mental
  64. 2:21model that explains all of it, and these
  65. 2:23strategies that you need to be doing
  66. 2:24right now so that these search agents
  67. 2:27recommend you and not your competitor.
  68. 2:29Let's get to it. I don't like pointing
  69. 2:30right at the camera, but that's just me.
  70. 2:32There were a lot of incredible
  71. 2:33announcements at Google IO, but there
  72. 2:35were two that are going to impact the
  73. 2:37way we search. The first one is the fact
  74. 2:39that the search box is now turning into
  75. 2:41your own personal dashboard. You can
  76. 2:44ask, "How do I build a balanced workout
  77. 2:45plan?" and a few more other things and
  78. 2:48Google not only looks through your
  79. 2:49information but creates a personalized
  80. 2:51dashboard that you can use over and over
  81. 2:53and you can also share with people. This
  82. 2:56is going to be the death of a lot of
  83. 2:57other traffic particularly for websites
  84. 2:59that have things like recipes or workout
  85. 3:01plans. See you later. Those are not
  86. 3:04going to exist anymore. So the AI agents
  87. 3:07still need somewhere to pull the data
  88. 3:09from. So the point like it it depends on
  89. 3:12how those uh websites are being
  90. 3:14monetized, right? Websites or workout
  91. 3:17plans that monetized based on AdSense.
  92. 3:20Yeah, those are probably going to go
  93. 3:22away because the AdSense revenue is
  94. 3:23going to dry up, but uh there still are
  95. 3:26a lot of people uh who don't necessarily
  96. 3:29want an AI to be giving them recipes and
  97. 3:31giving them workout plans. Uh so uh the
  98. 3:34right monetized program, those can still
  99. 3:36exist, those still work. they just
  100. 3:38probably won't be using as much Google
  101. 3:41to drive traffic over there, but there's
  102. 3:43still Tik Tok, Instagram, YouTube, a
  103. 3:46variety of ways to build an audience to
  104. 3:48drive traffic, at least for now. And
  105. 3:50number two are these browser search
  106. 3:52agents. Now, this isn't specifically
  107. 3:54new. We've seen this with Perplexity's
  108. 3:56Comet and a few other AI companies have
  109. 3:58their own versions, but when Google does
  110. 4:01it, they automatically have a billion
  111. 4:04users behind them. So this really makes
  112. 4:06a massive impact and you need to know
  113. 4:08how to optimize for these search agents.
  114. 4:10What you need to start thinking about is
  115. 4:12the fact that your customers now have a
  116. 4:14concurge service. These are the search
  117. 4:16agents because they know so much about
  118. 4:19you or about the customer that they're
  119. 4:20going to search with all that knowledge
  120. 4:22and information behind them. Let me give
  121. 4:24you an example. Let's say in this weird
  122. 4:26example I owner of a Vietnamese
  123. 4:28restaurant somewhere in Melbourne, let's
  124. 4:29say Fitzroy. If I type in find me an
  125. 4:32accountant, Google's not just going to
  126. 4:34search normally with these agents,
  127. 4:36accountants near me. Absolutely not. It
  128. 4:38has all of the previous information
  129. 4:40about me. So, it's going to see, okay,
  130. 4:42let's find an accountant, but for a 12
  131. 4:45person Vietnamese restaurant in Fitzroy
  132. 4:47with 1.8 million revenue that uses zero
  133. 4:49and prefers inerson meetings, that is
  134. 4:52all the information that it's going to
  135. 4:53do the search with because it wants to
  136. 4:55find the perfect accountant in this
  137. 4:57instance for me. So we're no longer
  138. 4:59optimizing just for humans or for the AI
  139. 5:01search engines but for the search
  140. 5:04agents.
  141. 5:04>> Yeah. So he's absolutely right here.
  142. 5:06This is the big change. Sundar Pachai
  143. 5:08has been talking about this for a while.
  144. 5:10Uh right now it's the AI overview that
  145. 5:13has basically uh decimatedformational
  146. 5:16search query click-through rates. But
  147. 5:18with the ask maps feature that Google
  148. 5:20introduced in March, with uh the search
  149. 5:22box becoming uh a home for search agents
  150. 5:25itself, we see this really impacting
  151. 5:28local search. The map algorithm, the
  152. 5:30fundamental three-pack based on the
  153. 5:32Google business profile, it shows the
  154. 5:34top three results. That algorithm hasn't
  155. 5:36changed in 10 years. That streak is
  156. 5:39likely going to end uh within the very
  157. 5:41near future where Gemini is now going to
  158. 5:44choose local businesses instead of uh
  159. 5:48humans uh instead of Google's algorithm
  160. 5:51showing you three and then a human looks
  161. 5:53at them and and chooses them. This has
  162. 5:55massive implications. One, as he talked
  163. 5:58about, the LLMs get to know you the more
  164. 6:00you talk to the LLMs. This means that
  165. 6:02hyperspecific attributes become
  166. 6:04incredibly important for these searches.
  167. 6:07not only hyperspecific attributes that
  168. 6:10it's learned about you over all of your
  169. 6:12interactions with it, but the prompts
  170. 6:14themselves are typically much larger,
  171. 6:17much more rich than what people
  172. 6:19typically typed into Google search. One
  173. 6:22implication of this, which is very good
  174. 6:23for Google, means the more you use that
  175. 6:26LLM, the better it's going to do for
  176. 6:28you. So if Gemini integrated in with
  177. 6:30search gets better results to you the
  178. 6:33more it knows about you that is a
  179. 6:35massive competitive advantage in terms
  180. 6:37of people going and using Gemini instead
  181. 6:40of chat GPT or instead of claude or the
  182. 6:42other AI LLM. So the fight here is how
  183. 6:46to make sure the AI agent has the
  184. 6:49information that it needs about your
  185. 6:51business to understand if traffic is
  186. 6:53down how do we measure things. What's
  187. 6:55the next real KPI that we can follow?
  188. 6:58Well, this really comes down to two main
  189. 6:59things. Your search appearances and your
  190. 7:02citations. And how to find this data?
  191. 7:05Well, there's actually a free tool that
  192. 7:07is very much slept on. That is Bing Web
  193. 7:10Master Tools. I know, who would have
  194. 7:12thought I would have started using Bing.
  195. 7:14But Bing Web Master Tools, which is
  196. 7:16their version of Google Search Console,
  197. 7:18has this fantastic set of data that you
  198. 7:21can have access to. If you go to your
  199. 7:23Bing account, then you go to the AI
  200. 7:24search performance tab, it gives you all
  201. 7:27of the citations from AI and all the
  202. 7:29times you're getting cited, which is
  203. 7:31amazing. So, if I scroll down here, I
  204. 7:33see that over the past 3 months, I've
  205. 7:35been cited a total of 8,600 times, the
  206. 7:38average pages that are getting cited,
  207. 7:40and the queries which my website is
  208. 7:42being cited.
  209. 7:43>> Now, this is absolutely incredible. I
  210. 7:44completely agree with it. This recently,
  211. 7:46very re recently rolled out on Bing
  212. 7:49webmaster tools and it got my team to go
  213. 7:51install Bing web master tools on all of
  214. 7:53our clients because of course we didn't
  215. 7:55have Bing web master tools installed on
  216. 7:57the clients before because who cares
  217. 7:59about Bing, right? So, this is very good
  218. 8:02information to have. It's the only way
  219. 8:04that I know of to get truly trustable
  220. 8:07data about what AI is recommending you
  221. 8:10for and those queries. Now, Google
  222. 8:13Search Console is also currently rolling
  223. 8:15this out to smaller groups of users. So,
  224. 8:18I would anticipate within the next
  225. 8:20couple of weeks to months that Google
  226. 8:22Search Console will also have this data
  227. 8:24for AI overview and Gemini Query
  228. 8:26specifically. Very good to have this
  229. 8:28visibility, which we really just don't
  230. 8:30have right now other than Bing Web
  231. 8:33Master Tools. Really good information.
  232. 8:36And whilst I'm not getting the the
  233. 8:37traffic that one would used to get, I'm
  234. 8:39still getting cited, which is a good KPI
  235. 8:42to understand. Now, we need to know that
  236. 8:45this is only for the Bing search
  237. 8:47network, which means just for GPT, which
  238. 8:50is all well and good, but let's be real
  239. 8:52here. The big competitor here is Google.
  240. 8:55So, we need to know, are we getting
  241. 8:57cited in Google AI overviews? There's
  242. 8:59another tool that you can use for that.
  243. 9:01I'm going to leave a link for you to try
  244. 9:03out data wise for free. You don't need a
  245. 9:05credit card or anything. And there's a
  246. 9:07section here that is AI visibility. I'm
  247. 9:09going to go to the brand tracker
  248. 9:10section. And here I can put a website
  249. 9:13like let's put
  250. 9:15theel.com. I got to make sure I've got
  251. 9:17Google AI overviews selected. And I'm
  252. 9:19going to go to analyze. This is going to
  253. 9:21give me all the times and the AI search
  254. 9:24visibility of Versel as a domain. So
  255. 9:27it's getting these many total mentions.
  256. 9:29Where is it getting mentioned? Mostly
  257. 9:31from the website, but also on YouTube
  258. 9:32and Reddit. and the mentions over time
  259. 9:35as well as the actual questions that are
  260. 9:38making the AI.
  261. 9:39>> So, this is the problem with tools like
  262. 9:41this and there's a bunch of them that
  263. 9:43exist. This is one of them. I've tested
  264. 9:45a bunch of them. Uh, for the most part,
  265. 9:47they're all garbage, right? They don't
  266. 9:49actually give you anything that's useful
  267. 9:50or actionable. And we can see that by
  268. 9:53even just looking at the LLM answers
  269. 9:56mentioning you that it's generating.
  270. 9:58it's just not particularly helpful in
  271. 10:00terms of figuring out what you need to
  272. 10:02do, change, improve to get cited by the
  273. 10:05right uh types of queries. Uh the
  274. 10:08problem is one of the key problems for
  275. 10:11this is that AI LLM as we talked about
  276. 10:14earlier in this video, they know so much
  277. 10:16about you that the search prompt is not
  278. 10:20always even super relevant as to why you
  279. 10:22got recommended and someone else didn't
  280. 10:24get recommended. uh or vice versa. So
  281. 10:28the problem here is that with Google
  282. 10:31search uh a handful of keywords that you
  283. 10:33could track, you could see your rank
  284. 10:35position, you could see what was going
  285. 10:36on with LLM prompts, the amount of
  286. 10:40hypersp specific attributes that are so
  287. 10:43important to getting recommended, uh
  288. 10:45getting cited, it just these tools just
  289. 10:48don't track it enough detail to be able
  290. 10:51to give you actionable information. And
  291. 10:53in my mind, information that gives me
  292. 10:56the wrong impression, information that's
  293. 10:58not actionable, that I can't do anything
  294. 11:00about or that is incomplete so that I
  295. 11:04don't know what I'm supposed to do to
  296. 11:05improve it. I would rather have no
  297. 11:07information than have that information.
  298. 11:10Wrong information is worse than no
  299. 11:13information. And if we look at even this
  300. 11:16example, llm answers mentioning you, a
  301. 11:19lot of these just aren't super relevant
  302. 11:22to versel.com wanting to be cited more.
  303. 11:26Like how would they take this
  304. 11:27information and then move forward to
  305. 11:29improve their AI visibility? it just
  306. 11:31anyway this is why I'm so so excited
  307. 11:34about uh what Bing introduced uh and
  308. 11:37very much looking forward to seeing this
  309. 11:39data in Google search console because
  310. 11:41then all of the tools like this we can
  311. 11:43freely ignore them site and mention
  312. 11:46versel. So now that the new KPI is
  313. 11:49really more about search appearances and
  314. 11:52citations, you need to think of your
  315. 11:54website not just for a landing page for
  316. 11:57humans, but you need to think about it
  317. 11:59as a data API of your business for these
  318. 12:03agents. And websites have already been
  319. 12:05something like this anyway, but you
  320. 12:07really need to think about having all of
  321. 12:09the correct information and all of the
  322. 12:12information that you can on your website
  323. 12:14because essentially the ability to give
  324. 12:16the agents all the information they need
  325. 12:19to make sure that they recommend you.
  326. 12:22But here's the thing, you need the right
  327. 12:24type of information to get cited.
  328. 12:26Because having the right information
  329. 12:28doesn't mean having all of the
  330. 12:30information. See, what's really going to
  331. 12:32win now is you getting hyper niche in
  332. 12:35understanding who your customer is.
  333. 12:37Let's say I'm still that accounting or
  334. 12:39I've reversed the roles this time. I'm
  335. 12:40the accountant this time and I want to
  336. 12:42market myself from an SEO perspective. I
  337. 12:44can't no longer say, "Oh yeah, I'm an
  338. 12:46accountant for small businesses." That
  339. 12:48is way too broad and it's not going to
  340. 12:50bring me the right traffic because I'm
  341. 12:52not going to give the search agents the
  342. 12:54right information. I need to get deeper.
  343. 12:56for example, accounting for hospitality
  344. 12:58businesses in Melbourne. And that isn't
  345. 13:01even niche enough. I need to go a step
  346. 13:03further. And I would say things like
  347. 13:04accounting for restaurants in Fitzroy
  348. 13:07that uses zero. That's the accounting
  349. 13:09software. And you might be saying, uh,
  350. 13:11there's no search volume for that. I'm
  351. 13:13going to get rarely no clicks. But
  352. 13:15remember, nobody's getting clicks anyway
  353. 13:17practically. So, you need the right
  354. 13:19clicks. And the more niche you get, the
  355. 13:22better information the search agents
  356. 13:24have to make sure that you're the one
  357. 13:26cited because you have all the exact
  358. 13:28requirements that a user might be
  359. 13:30looking for. So yes, nobody's getting
  360. 13:32clicks, but that still means you need to
  361. 13:34target a niche that someone is searching
  362. 13:37for, right? Uh someone has to be asking
  363. 13:39Google or ChatgPT or Grock or some AI
  364. 13:43tool, otherwise it won't work, right?
  365. 13:45So, if you said, "My specialty is in
  366. 13:48clearing snow out of the parking lots
  367. 13:51for Cuban restaurants in Miami." Yeah,
  368. 13:54if anyone looked for someone to clear
  369. 13:56the snow out of Cuban restaurants in
  370. 13:58Miami, you'd probably get recommended.
  371. 14:00But the problem is no one is searching
  372. 14:02for that. Okay? So, there is a fine line
  373. 14:05there. Okay? And what he's talking about
  374. 14:08is basically what we've been talking
  375. 14:10about since like 2018, which is entity
  376. 14:13matching. Okay? So remember the T in
  377. 14:16chat GPT stands for transformers and
  378. 14:18Google actually invented the transformer
  379. 14:20technology in 2017. Google has
  380. 14:23introduced it into its search algorithm
  381. 14:25before chat GPT3 and a half was
  382. 14:27released. So Google understands entities
  383. 14:30in the same way or a similar way that
  384. 14:33chat GPT does. So what we're talking
  385. 14:35about what we want to do is to figure
  386. 14:38out entity matching. Okay. So your
  387. 14:41service that the service you provide is
  388. 14:43an entity. The location of your business
  389. 14:45is an entity. The customer and what
  390. 14:48they're looking for are entities with
  391. 14:50attributes. Okay? Uh so historically, if
  392. 14:53we think about ranking on the Google
  393. 14:55threeack, the old map pack, there are
  394. 14:58three primary rank factors. Proximity,
  395. 15:00relevance, and trust. Well, with Gemini
  396. 15:03taking over, proximity largely goes
  397. 15:05away. Okay? Gemini does not care about
  398. 15:07proximity in the same way that Google's
  399. 15:09old map pack algorithm does. So we still
  400. 15:12have uh authority and trust but
  401. 15:15proximity is replaced with attributes.
  402. 15:18So what we want to do is produce content
  403. 15:20on your website that talks about those
  404. 15:22attributes. That's entity matching. So
  405. 15:25the fact that you are looking for
  406. 15:27restaurants in that suburb of Melbourne
  407. 15:30who are using that specific accounting
  408. 15:32tool. Awesome. Put that on your website.
  409. 15:34Write about it. Put a a subsection on
  410. 15:37one of your pages about it. But don't
  411. 15:39make that the entire focus of your
  412. 15:40website. We can entity match more than
  413. 15:43one thing. We can focus on more than one
  414. 15:45attribute. Uh it's even more powerful as
  415. 15:48a side note if those attributes go into
  416. 15:49your reviews. If his Vietnamese
  417. 15:52restaurant wrote a review and said,
  418. 15:54"This is the best accountant ever for
  419. 15:55restaurants who are using this
  420. 15:57accounting software." That would be even
  421. 15:59more powerful uh than just having it on
  422. 16:02that website. So, when you're asking for
  423. 16:03reviews, don't just tell your customers,
  424. 16:06"Hey, could you please leave us a
  425. 16:07review?" Instead, send a message to your
  426. 16:09customers and say something more like,
  427. 16:10"Hey, could you say up what we helped
  428. 16:12with and what the outcome was?" You'll
  429. 16:14get much more specific reviews with
  430. 16:16attributes. And attributes are the magic
  431. 16:19sauce for getting recommended by Gemini.
  432. 16:22Now, like I said, customers putting in
  433. 16:24your reviews, that is amazing. But at
  434. 16:27the very least, you can put these
  435. 16:28attributes on your website yourself. And
  436. 16:31you can take a look at the search
  437. 16:32console data for your website. The
  438. 16:34search console data will show what
  439. 16:36you're being ranked for on Google
  440. 16:37search. Yes, it doesn't have the Gemini
  441. 16:39data yet, but you can see some
  442. 16:42attributes that people are actively
  443. 16:44searching for on Google. If those
  444. 16:46attributes are relevant to your small
  445. 16:48business, make sure those attributes are
  446. 16:50talked about on your website. New KPIs
  447. 16:53that we need to look at. We know what
  448. 16:54type of information we need in our
  449. 16:56website. How do we know if our website
  450. 16:58is search agentfriendly that the agents
  451. 17:01can actually access our website and do
  452. 17:03all the things they need to? Well, let's
  453. 17:04do the test. To do this test correct,
  454. 17:07and by the way, it's free. You need to
  455. 17:09download a special version of Chrome
  456. 17:11called Chrome Canary. This is the
  457. 17:14version that is used by developers
  458. 17:15because it's updated almost daily with
  459. 17:18new features. Some of these features in
  460. 17:20Chrome Canary, not many people get. So,
  461. 17:22I need you to download that. Once you've
  462. 17:24downloaded and installed it, you need to
  463. 17:26do a couple of things here. You want to
  464. 17:29go to this URL, and I'll leave it in the
  465. 17:31screen here. And you want to make sure
  466. 17:34that you enable WebMCP for testing. This
  467. 17:38is critical because by default, it's
  468. 17:40just by default, but you need to make
  469. 17:42sure that it's enabled. Now, we're ready
  470. 17:44to go. We can test if our website is
  471. 17:47ready for the AI search engines or the
  472. 17:49AI agents, sorry, that are searching
  473. 17:51through the website. I'm going to pick a
  474. 17:53website here. With the website loaded in
  475. 17:55Chrome Canary, you want to go up here to
  476. 17:58the three dots. You want to go to more
  477. 18:01tools and we're going to go to developer
  478. 18:02tools. Now, by default, you might have
  479. 18:04been placed in the elements tab. You
  480. 18:06want to go to the lighthouse tab. And if
  481. 18:08you don't see this report here, it's
  482. 18:11because maybe you've got the doc sited
  483. 18:13in the side like this. I like it at the
  484. 18:15bottom. So, I'm going to place it like
  485. 18:17here, like this here. What you need to
  486. 18:19do is make sure that in the categories
  487. 18:21you have this agentic browsing category
  488. 18:24selected. I've got the desktop selected
  489. 18:27and I'm going to analyze the page load.
  490. 18:30Now this calls the lighthouse report
  491. 18:32which is just a classic report that
  492. 18:35every SEO should know about. It
  493. 18:36essentially tells you the performance of
  494. 18:38your website from a speed, from an SEO
  495. 18:40perspective, from a technical report
  496. 18:42perspective. Really good to have. But
  497. 18:44now there is a very new and important
  498. 18:46feature here because these are the
  499. 18:48normal data sets that we get performance
  500. 18:51accessibility best practices SEO. But
  501. 18:53now there's a new one agentic browsing.
  502. 18:56That is the one that you need to make
  503. 18:57sure you optimize for. So if I go down
  504. 18:59to the website I see here, okay, my
  505. 19:02aentic browsing. I'm missing a lot of
  506. 19:04things. The accessibility tree is not
  507. 19:06wellformed. So now you know if your
  508. 19:09website is actually optimized for this
  509. 19:11or not because you can get up to three
  510. 19:12out of three from the agentic browsing
  511. 19:14and that's where you know that you're
  512. 19:16actually getting optimized. So real
  513. 19:17quick here like this is an actual audit
  514. 19:19but you don't need Chrome Canary
  515. 19:21anymore. This is out of date like this
  516. 19:23he posted this a couple of weeks ago or
  517. 19:25a week a when did he post this? 10 days
  518. 19:27ago. He posted this 10 days ago. This is
  519. 19:29already out of date. Uh you don't need
  520. 19:31Chrome Canary to do this and in fact
  521. 19:33Google is going to roll it out soon to
  522. 19:34page speed insights. So you'll be able
  523. 19:36to see it right whenever you run a page
  524. 19:38speed audit. But it is important to know
  525. 19:40that it's going to measure browser
  526. 19:41readiness, not measuring anything
  527. 19:44related to how likely the AI is going to
  528. 19:46recommend you. Basically going to
  529. 19:48analyze a lot of the super technical
  530. 19:50things that are inside search console,
  531. 19:52right? It's, you know, whether your
  532. 19:54buttons and your forms have labels,
  533. 19:55whether things on your page jump around
  534. 19:58after it's loaded. uh very very
  535. 20:00technical things that don't really have
  536. 20:02a huge amount of impact for whether an
  537. 20:04LLM actually recommends you or not. Uh
  538. 20:07most of the LLMs that are talking about
  539. 20:10local businesses, recommending local
  540. 20:12businesses, they're doing it through
  541. 20:14other device. They're doing it through
  542. 20:16other centers like the Google business
  543. 20:18profile which is already structured
  544. 20:20well. When they go to your website,
  545. 20:21they're not actually trying to interact
  546. 20:23with forms. They're just reading it to
  547. 20:25try to learn more about you. uh the
  548. 20:27fundamentals they're already getting
  549. 20:28from yeah the Google business profile if
  550. 20:31they're ordering food from you. We saw
  551. 20:33in Google's own IO presentation that
  552. 20:35they're doing it through Door Dash.
  553. 20:36They're not trying to place an order on
  554. 20:37the website itself. So a lot of that
  555. 20:40section is kind of packaging to make it
  556. 20:42feel secret and hidden when it really
  557. 20:45isn't. You can do today to make sure
  558. 20:47that you are optimized for this new type
  559. 20:50of SEO. Well, thankfully Google has
  560. 20:52confirmed the one thing that's going to
  561. 20:54help this is setting an LLM.txt
  562. 20:57file on your website. This used to cause
  563. 21:00a bit of drama in the internet because
  564. 21:02people thought that LLM.txt files were a
  565. 21:05waste. Turns out they're not. So, how do
  566. 21:07you put
  567. 21:07>> No, they still are. You put this file on
  568. 21:10your website. Let me show you really
  569. 21:11quickly because it's very easy to do.
  570. 21:13All you got to do is if you're on
  571. 21:15WordPress is make sure that you have a
  572. 21:17plugin installed called Yoast. Right?
  573. 21:20So, I'm going to look for the plugin
  574. 21:21with you. I'm going to go to plugins.
  575. 21:23I'm going to add a plugin and I'm going
  576. 21:25to search for Yoast, and it should be
  577. 21:29the first one that you find here. I'm
  578. 21:30going to install. The free version for
  579. 21:33this purpose is going to be more than
  580. 21:34okay. So, I'm going to install this. And
  581. 21:36then you need to activate it. With that
  582. 21:38plug-in installed, we can go to Yoast
  583. 21:40SEO cuz we're going to have that tab.
  584. 21:42Now, we want to go to settings within
  585. 21:43the Yoast application. You want to
  586. 21:46scroll all the way down until you see
  587. 21:49this one here, which is the llm.txt
  588. 21:52file. It's just under the AI tools. All
  589. 21:54I want to do is enable that and save
  590. 21:56changes. And that's it. Well done.
  591. 21:58You've set your LLM text file on your
  592. 22:01website. You're on your way to becoming
  593. 22:03a lot more friendly for the search
  594. 22:05agents. Now, I'm not saying llm.ext text
  595. 22:08is a waste of time and you shouldn't add
  596. 22:10it because it is different for agentic
  597. 22:12browsers versus the LLMs that we're
  598. 22:15using today. But the LLM's.txt
  599. 22:17is essentially not being used anywhere
  600. 22:20today. Let me show you. This is a study
  601. 22:22that was done at Limey and they said out
  602. 22:24of 500 million AI bot visits across the
  603. 22:2790-day window, 408 LLM.txt
  604. 22:30directly. Basically, none of them. Okay.
  605. 22:33Now, this is different for agents that
  606. 22:37are crawling, which really doesn't
  607. 22:39happen very much now. So, I still
  608. 22:41suggest it takes 30 seconds. Go ahead,
  609. 22:44implement the llm's.txt.
  610. 22:47Just don't expect it to meaningfully
  611. 22:49change anything anytime soon, even for
  612. 22:53agent browsing. So, not fake. Uh, but in
  613. 22:56the world of SEO, if something takes 30
  614. 22:59seconds to do, then you probably should
  615. 23:01just do it. So, the rest of this video,
  616. 23:03he's going to pitch his community again.
  617. 23:05So, we'll go ahead and move on. I just
  618. 23:06want to call out the llms.txt file that,
  619. 23:09you know, he told you to install today.
  620. 23:11Uh, one move, big fix, right? Uh,
  621. 23:14Google's own AI search guide came out
  622. 23:16and listed it under the stuff that you
  623. 23:17don't need for visibility, right next to
  624. 23:19the other tricks that AI optimization
  625. 23:22services try to sell. Now, yes, Google
  626. 23:25says a lot of things that aren't
  627. 23:27actually true in terms of showing up and
  628. 23:29ranking for search, but when you look at
  629. 23:31the actual bot traffic, the actual data,
  630. 23:34the crawlers really aren't looking at it
  631. 23:36at all. That being said, it is not
  632. 23:38useless. It is helping it will help an
  633. 23:41agent read your site a little bit
  634. 23:43faster. It's it's a real thing, uh, but
  635. 23:46not the thing that's going to help you
  636. 23:47get found. This is a a browser checkbox
  637. 23:51that's being sold as the secret. So, if
  638. 23:53we strip the whole video down and look
  639. 23:55at what's left, it's really getting
  640. 23:57specific about who you serve. Make sure
  641. 24:00your site says exactly what your
  642. 24:02business is. Hand the machine clean,
  643. 24:04exact information so it chooses you.
  644. 24:07Honestly, that's not a new playbook.
  645. 24:09That's entity matching. It's the same
  646. 24:11fundamental signal that's been winning
  647. 24:13since Google stopped reading keywords,
  648. 24:15which happened in 2018. The tools
  649. 24:18changed. The file is new. The work isn't
  650. 24:20different. So, every time somebody tells
  651. 24:22you the game just got rewritten and
  652. 24:24here's the brand new thing you have to
  653. 24:25go and install and look at, check
  654. 24:27whether the people who built the
  655. 24:29machines are actually using it. Usually
  656. 24:31they're not.
