[GOOGLE DRIVE] 2 FORMAS DE CONVERTIR ARCHIVO OFFICE A FORMATO DE GOOGLE | CONVERTIR ARCHIVOS SUBIDOS — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00Hello world, welcome to my YouTube
- 0:02channel, A Google Expert Helps You.
- 0:04This is a new video in the complete
- 0:06Google Drive course playlist. In this
- 0:09video, we are going to learn how to
- 0:11convert documents to Google formats. I
- 0:14am going to upload a Microsoft file. I
- 0:16will go here to upload file and select
- 0:19a Microsoft file, in this case, a CV, a
- 0:22resume in .docx format. So the upload
- 0:27will start, and we will notice that the
- 0:29file has been uploaded. Notice the
- 0:32first difference. This is the icon for
- 0:35a Google text document, and this here
- 0:38is the icon for a Microsoft file inside
- 0:41Google Drive. When I open this file, we
- 0:45will see what happens; it will try to
- 0:48open it with the Google Docs editor, as
- 0:51they have some compatibility. And you
- 0:55will notice at the top, next to the
- 0:58title, it says .docx, indicating that
- 1:01it is an Office file. If I click here,
- 1:05it will indicate that it is an Office
- 1:07format file. Even though it is loaded
- 1:12in the Google text document editor,
- 1:15this is still a Microsoft Word file, so
- 1:18it has limited functionality. However,
- 1:23you can convert it. Where can you
- 1:26convert it? By clicking here on File.
- 1:29And here is an option that says Save as
- 1:32Google Docs. If you click here, it will
- 1:36transform it. Now, this file is
- 1:41officially a Google text document.
- 1:46Although you will see the same icon at
- 1:49the top, this here is the reference you
- 1:52must always keep in mind. It is very
- 1:54important that you consider the issue
- 1:56of compatibility. That is why it is
- 2:00always good that when transforming your
- 2:02file, before you delete or remove it,
- 2:05verify that everything is in order,
- 2:07because compatibility is high but not
- 2:10100%. And many times, at the end of the
- 2:14day, you will lose some things you had
- 2:17in your Word file. Work is still being
- 2:21done on compatibility, but it is a
- 2:25complicated issue, and this is one of
- 2:28the ways we have to transform it.
- 2:33Remember that by transforming it, you
- 2:35have directly created a file in its
- 2:38Google text document version. If you
- 2:41have a large volume of files so that
- 2:44you are not transforming them one by
- 2:46one, you have an option here in the
- 2:48settings. If I click here on the gear
- 2:54icon, settings, there is an option here
- 2:56that says convert uploaded files to
- 2:58Google Docs editor format so that this
- 3:01is done automatically. So, the next
- 3:05time you automatically upload a file,
- 3:08it will automatically transform it into
- 3:11the Google editors format. By selecting
- 3:15this option, I will update it and what
- 3:18I am going to do is upload that file
- 3:21again. I'm going to upload that file
- 3:24and we'll see it transform
- 3:26automatically. Let's select it. It's
- 3:34uploading. And as you can notice, it
- 3:39created a copy version and this is now
- 3:43directly in Google format. You'll
- 3:46notice that Doc X doesn't appear. And
- 3:48well, that would be all for this video.
- 3:51You know I would like you to support
- 3:52the channel by subscribing and sharing
- 3:54it with those who might find it
- 3:55interesting. Thank you very much for
- 3:57your attention and may the force be
- 3:59with you.
