  1. 0:09hello and welcome to this session here
  2. 0:11we are going to be using the migration
  3. 0:12WIS tool to migrate accounts from the
  4. 0:16GoDaddy tenant so an M365 hosted
  5. 0:19Microsoft 365 tenant into a standard
  6. 0:23M365 10 we're going to be taking uh some
  7. 0:26email addresses that we've got set up
  8. 0:28inside GoDaddy and bringing them in into
  9. 0:30a tenant that already exists into a
  10. 0:32company setup I'm going to show you how
  11. 0:34we use the migration Wiz tool to achieve
  12. 0:37that now it is essentially the same as a
  13. 0:40standard M365 migration but there are a
  14. 0:43few little nuances that you need to be
  15. 0:45aware at the start and also at the end
  16. 0:47how to get the domain out of the GoDaddy
  17. 0:49environment and into the standard M365
  18. 0:53tenant and also about the initial setup
  19. 0:55about what to do with the admin users
  20. 0:57and really how to set up things so you
  21. 0:59can move the data in the first place so
  22. 1:01let's have a look at the GoDaddy tenant
  23. 1:03and see what it looks
  24. 1:05like so looking in the GoDaddy side of
  25. 1:08the house we can see we've got a
  26. 1:09standard console here we can see one
  27. 1:11user we have set up is erest penfold
  28. 1:14we're going to move his data from his
  29. 1:16email address and we're going to move
  30. 1:17that domain across from the dangermouse
  31. 1:19films.com we're going to move that into
  32. 1:21another tenant as well so I'm going to
  33. 1:22show you how we do we go about that we
  34. 1:24are going to be contacting the support
  35. 1:26at GoDaddy to let them achieve that in
  36. 1:27the back end for us once we finish ating
  37. 1:30all the mail across so what we need to
  38. 1:32do though is we need to get the the
  39. 1:34correct admin user now I know that we
  40. 1:36have one admin user always have an admin
  41. 1:38user on GoDaddy and we only have one set
  42. 1:41up in this tenant so it is Ernest who is
  43. 1:43the admin we need to get the actual
  44. 1:45admin account and the onmicrosoft.com
  45. 1:47Tenant name to really achieve this
  46. 1:50migration we also then need to add the
  47. 1:53application impersonation in there as
  48. 1:55well so let's just run through those
  49. 1:57steps and I'll show you how that can be
  50. 1:59achieved
  51. 2:01so we'll start off by logging in penfold
  52. 2:03into the office portal I just straight
  53. 2:06to portaloffice.com we'll put his
  54. 2:08credentials
  55. 2:09in like so then take us to the GoDaddy
  56. 2:13signin page which we'll then do with his
  57. 2:18password and sign in there and that will
  58. 2:20take us to the normal 365 experience
  59. 2:23that you would expect and if we jump
  60. 2:25into Outlook we'll see he has a normal
  61. 2:28working account with some newsletters
  62. 2:31that I've obviously subscribed him to so
  63. 2:32we got a bit of mail to play with in
  64. 2:34there so that's that's where we want to
  65. 2:36be now the reason we've logged in here
  66. 2:38is because now it's quite easy for us to
  67. 2:41jump in and go to the Azure
  68. 2:44portal portal. azure.com that'll drop me
  69. 2:47straight in there and what we want to
  70. 2:49look at is the Azure active directory
  71. 2:51now this does if this doesn't show up on
  72. 2:53this quick bar here you can just find it
  73. 2:55just on the left hand side here and as
  74. 2:57your active directory now from here this
  75. 3:00is one of the key parts of information
  76. 3:01we need which is the primary domain
  77. 3:03that's been set up but we also need to
  78. 3:05know what the the admin account looks
  79. 3:07like you can see although nnest is an
  80. 3:09admin we do have a proper admin account
  81. 3:13as well and it's this guy that we're
  82. 3:14particularly interested in so we're
  83. 3:16going to copy that out to clipboard and
  84. 3:18just prop that into notepad just to keep
  85. 3:20that for later
  86. 3:22on you see there I like to keep that in
  87. 3:24there just as a a quick scratch
  88. 3:27Pad what we will do is we'll go into
  89. 3:30this admin user and we're going to reset
  90. 3:33the
  91. 3:34password do
  92. 3:37that and hit reset
  93. 3:41password and that is our temporary one
  94. 3:44there that we'll use to log in
  95. 3:46with so I Dro that into the scratch Pad
  96. 3:48as well obviously I'm going to be
  97. 3:49changing this by the time I publish this
  98. 3:51video so you won't see it but now we're
  99. 3:54going to log in as that user so I'll
  100. 3:57just open up another in private window
  101. 3:58we'll go to the mod. office.com will log
  102. 4:01in as that user so let we just grab that
  103. 4:03from the
  104. 4:05notepad this one here and you do exactly
  105. 4:08the same thing as this in here and just
  106. 4:12grab that password as
  107. 4:16well and drop that in there it will then
  108. 4:19ask us to update it now this is because
  109. 4:21we we have to log in here because we
  110. 4:24cannot log into the migration services
  111. 4:28with a temporary password not going to
  112. 4:29let us do that so we'll do that and sign
  113. 4:32in and that will let us into the
  114. 4:34standard portal like this now the only
  115. 4:37reason for going in here at all was just
  116. 4:39to go in and change that
  117. 4:41password so just as quick as we went in
  118. 4:44I'm going to close that I do not need
  119. 4:45that anymore and it's one go as well in
  120. 4:48fact I'll that because that is not the
  121. 4:51password
  122. 4:54anymore now all of these steps for setup
  123. 4:56are in the bit title help center I'm
  124. 4:58going to show you what I'm working from
  125. 4:59here so you can follow along when you do
  126. 5:02your own migrations I'm going to type in
  127. 5:04GoDaddy here and you can see straight
  128. 5:06away we've got some guidance here this
  129. 5:07is the one I'm looking at so if we click
  130. 5:09into this one you'll see there's our
  131. 5:12GoDaddy hosted exchange guide and if I
  132. 5:16just run down a little bit not too fast
  133. 5:18but what you'll see is underne here
  134. 5:21preparing the source this is about the
  135. 5:23reset password is good now it does talk
  136. 5:24about creating the project but I'm going
  137. 5:26to jump a little bit ahead just for now
  138. 5:28because I want to do this manual
  139. 5:30granting the application impersonation
  140. 5:32rights and just run through that quickly
  141. 5:34we can let my the migration Wiz client
  142. 5:36try and do it in the back end I find
  143. 5:38that obviously with the GoDaddy side of
  144. 5:40the house it actually is good to to do
  145. 5:43this before you start creating the
  146. 5:44project just to get it in so I'm going
  147. 5:45to go ahead and do this now what I'm
  148. 5:47going to do is use the the PO shell
  149. 5:50window to connect to the exchange online
  150. 5:52back end now that was the whole reason
  151. 5:54for setting the admin password we do
  152. 5:55that as the admin user that we've just
  153. 5:58reset that password on rather than
  154. 6:00trying to use the earnest penfold who
  155. 6:02like I say is an admin but it actually
  156. 6:04works fundamentally better if we're
  157. 6:06using that admin account that's the core
  158. 6:09of the GoDaddy M365
  159. 6:12tenant so I've started in a poell window
  160. 6:15as administrator and we first thing
  161. 6:18we'll do there is connect to exchange
  162. 6:20online it will ask me then what user we
  163. 6:22want to log in as and we're going to
  164. 6:25give it that admin account that we had
  165. 6:27earlier so I'll just paste on the
  166. 6:29scratch Pad you can see why I keep a
  167. 6:31scratch Pad now it's very easy to do
  168. 6:33that then put our password
  169. 6:36in like so sign in
  170. 6:39there and that connects as you can see
  171. 6:41in the back end as you would
  172. 6:44expect now looking at the instructions
  173. 6:47here we got to enable organization
  174. 6:49customization so that's good we jump
  175. 6:51back in there and do
  176. 6:53that
  177. 6:55so okay it's going to ask us to confirm
  178. 6:58obviously it's the first time this has
  179. 6:59been run inside that
  180. 7:02tenant now just to be aware that if it
  181. 7:05is the first time you've run it against
  182. 7:06the tenant it will take a little while
  183. 7:09to go through so we're just going to sit
  184. 7:11and hang while that does
  185. 7:15that and just to note too if you run it
  186. 7:17twice three times four times it doesn't
  187. 7:19matter it will just tell you that it's
  188. 7:20already been run as it does
  189. 7:25so and there we go just comes back to a
  190. 7:28blank line no errors it means it has
  191. 7:30gone ahead and done that now next line
  192. 7:32we need is this one here a new
  193. 7:34management Ro assignment I will just and
  194. 7:36paste this
  195. 7:37out
  196. 7:39so jump back in here paste that in and
  197. 7:42we need to tell it what user we are
  198. 7:44going to use for that which will come
  199. 7:46back to our scratch Pad back into here
  200. 7:50and put that in and run
  201. 7:56that and you can see it gives us this
  202. 7:59error now if we were on a normal M365
  203. 8:01tenant not a GoDaddy one that would most
  204. 8:04likely work but it looks like it hasn't
  205. 8:06so there is a workaround for that we
  206. 8:08need to go and add it in through the
  207. 8:09guey inside the Office 365 exchange back
  208. 8:13end so let me show you how we can do
  209. 8:16that so we're going to jump into the
  210. 8:20window we had with the Azure now this is
  211. 8:21still logged on as penfold not as the
  212. 8:24admin user but penit is an admin they're
  213. 8:27both admins in their own right but not
  214. 8:29not logged in as this guy here so we're
  215. 8:30logged in as penfold now what we would
  216. 8:32do there is we go to a new tab and put
  217. 8:36in this
  218. 8:37URL which you can see is the exchange
  219. 8:40control panel part of Outlook system
  220. 8:43anybody that's used an on-prem exchange
  221. 8:45server will know this ECP side very well
  222. 8:48and this is the old one now the tricky
  223. 8:50part here is I can go into the admin
  224. 8:52rules and have a look at those but
  225. 8:53they're going to be blank there's
  226. 8:55nothing there because they've been
  227. 8:56removed and they are in the what they
  228. 8:58call the new new exchange admin Center
  229. 9:00so we'll just hit right now and get into
  230. 9:03that this is where we need to
  231. 9:05be now where we find that is we look
  232. 9:08under roles and you'll find the admin
  233. 9:10roles are here and this looks a bit more
  234. 9:12interesting this is all our our roles
  235. 9:14inside the goad tenant now it won't have
  236. 9:18the application impersonation as a ro
  237. 9:20group already it's not going to be there
  238. 9:22so we need to go and create it so let's
  239. 9:24go to add roll group and we'll put this
  240. 9:28in
  241. 9:30spell
  242. 9:35ination put um I'll put the same thing
  243. 9:38in there and default R scope that's
  244. 9:40that's our only option so no problem
  245. 9:43there and what permissions we going to
  246. 9:44add now what we need to do is we need to
  247. 9:46go right down the bottom and go past all
  248. 9:48of this it's actually underneath because
  249. 9:50it's no space application impersonation
  250. 9:53and right down the bottom we need the
  251. 9:55view only config as well we go down here
  252. 9:59should find sorry for the excessive
  253. 10:02scrolling it's view only configuration
  254. 10:05that guy so we hit next on that now we
  255. 10:07need to assign some members now I'm
  256. 10:09going to assign in the admin user that
  257. 10:11we use for the tenant if I just do a
  258. 10:13search here you'll find a lot of them
  259. 10:15will come up but it's actually this top
  260. 10:17one here it says danger films.com that
  261. 10:19is the actual username you might have
  262. 10:21seen that in the Azure portal before
  263. 10:23that is the username of that admin
  264. 10:25account so we hit that and hit next
  265. 10:29and add the roll group in and there we
  266. 10:32go it's been
  267. 10:35added now we'll jump back into here and
  268. 10:38I'm going
  269. 10:39to take this command again I'm just
  270. 10:41going to edit it very slightly but
  271. 10:42easier to do it and we're going to get
  272. 10:46World assignment for application
  273. 10:47impersonation and see what that looks
  274. 10:49like now and we can see that it has the
  275. 10:53uh application impersonation right in
  276. 10:55there and uh is now created looks like
  277. 10:58we are good to go with that
  278. 11:00one now our next step in the migration
  279. 11:03is a standard task which we would do
  280. 11:04with any migration Wiz project which is
  281. 11:07to set up the application uh for the mod
  282. 11:11North now that has to be done through
  283. 11:14the Azure uh ad side as well which is
  284. 11:17with the screen I'm at right now and if
  285. 11:19I just jump back to the help desk
  286. 11:21article this one here you can see it
  287. 11:24talks about this item here the modern
  288. 11:26authentication requirements and it has
  289. 11:28all the instructions listed here so
  290. 11:30that's all good let me just bring that
  291. 11:32up I'm just going to run through those
  292. 11:33on the other screen and show you how
  293. 11:35that can be done quite
  294. 11:38quickly so in the Azure tenant you go
  295. 11:41down here and find app
  296. 11:43registrations and we say new
  297. 11:45registration and give it a name so we'll
  298. 11:48call
  299. 11:48it migration
  300. 11:52wiiz you select the second one down here
  301. 11:55accounts in any organization directory
  302. 11:57and we have to put the redirect it as
  303. 11:59well and we call that the public native
  304. 12:02now we grab that URL if I go across to
  305. 12:04the screen again the instructions you
  306. 12:07can see that is it there so I just do
  307. 12:09that and copy that
  308. 12:14in in here and hit
  309. 12:17register it'll set it up for us that's
  310. 12:20the first step on the on the
  311. 12:23application now from this screen we will
  312. 12:25need to record these items here so the
  313. 12:27application PL to take the whole thing
  314. 12:30and just put it back into our scratch
  315. 12:32Pad there and also
  316. 12:34the directory one as well grab the whole
  317. 12:37thing
  318. 12:40there that in
  319. 12:43there then we'll go to the
  320. 12:45authentication Tab and just C down a
  321. 12:48little bit because we need to turn on
  322. 12:50the enabling the mobile and desktop flow
  323. 12:53that needs to be on to yes and hit
  324. 12:56save and then we can go back to our
  325. 12:59overview now we need to give this
  326. 13:01application some permissions so we do
  327. 13:03that by going into API permissions and
  328. 13:07we've got these ones already you can
  329. 13:08remove that if you don't uh want to we
  330. 13:10don't use that one that's a standard
  331. 13:11default one that goes in but we need to
  332. 13:13say add a permission and we'll go to
  333. 13:16apis that my organization uses and we
  334. 13:20can type in office and it will come up
  335. 13:23with that it's the office exchange
  336. 13:25online is the one we're
  337. 13:27after we need delegated permissions and
  338. 13:31under here I'm just going to choose the
  339. 13:34ews and tick that one
  340. 13:37there and just hit add
  341. 13:39permissions go into this screen as you I
  342. 13:42said before we can remove this one we'll
  343. 13:44take that one out we don't need that
  344. 13:47what we will need to do is Grant the
  345. 13:49admin consent do that here hit yes and
  346. 13:52that gives us a little tick there and
  347. 13:56then we'll jump back to our main screen
  348. 13:59screen now to make it a bit easier for
  349. 14:01the advanced options of the project
  350. 14:03later what we'll do is we'll take these
  351. 14:05items and we're going to create what
  352. 14:08we're going to put in the advanced
  353. 14:09options if I go back to the help desk
  354. 14:12article you'll see we want to have them
  355. 14:14in this format so we're going to grab
  356. 14:17this one first so that's the client ID
  357. 14:19export so we'll copy that into here and
  358. 14:24just pop that in
  359. 14:26front and we'll SE this guy here
  360. 14:29the tenant
  361. 14:32ID this one here put the equals in now
  362. 14:35it is very important that you get these
  363. 14:39just right obviously the they are case
  364. 14:42sensitive so if you were to type it in
  365. 14:44and you even put the ID wrong if you put
  366. 14:46a lowercase for the ID that's not going
  367. 14:48to work you have so the best idea is to
  368. 14:52use the copy paste out of the article
  369. 14:54and then get those done and then there's
  370. 14:56your correct IDs based on the client and
  371. 14:58the tenant IDs now it's called the
  372. 15:00export this is the export because this
  373. 15:02is the source that you're coming from
  374. 15:04it's where you're exporting the data
  375. 15:05from remember that one it is the source
  376. 15:08so that is all set ready to go while I'm
  377. 15:11in here um I'm just going to grab these
  378. 15:13ones here for the import as well just to
  379. 15:16make it easier to pop those in
  380. 15:18later and grab that one as
  381. 15:22well so and we'll spec those up once we
  382. 15:26do the destination side now just in the
  383. 15:29interest of a more concise uh and quick
  384. 15:32video um I've done the same application
  385. 15:35registration on the target tenant and
  386. 15:38just pop those in there it's exactly the
  387. 15:40same as a source tenant so you're just
  388. 15:41grabbing doing exactly the same task and
  389. 15:43grabbing those client ID and tenant IDs
  390. 15:45and putting those in there so that's all
  391. 15:47done now we're going to go across to the
  392. 15:50migration wi console and we're going to
  393. 15:52log in and we're going to create this
  394. 15:56project and sign in on bit Titan console
  395. 15:59there we go and it will take us to our
  396. 16:02main screen I'm going to say create a
  397. 16:03new project which will be a mailbox
  398. 16:06project and we start the normal the
  399. 16:08normal
  400. 16:09setup I'm going to call this one just go
  401. 16:12daddy migration and the customer I will
  402. 16:15create a new
  403. 16:16one and that will be not like that now
  404. 16:21jumping into the bit Titan main screen
  405. 16:24here we hit sign in and go in there and
  406. 16:29with our projects we'll go ahead and
  407. 16:30create a new project which will be a
  408. 16:32mailbox project here we go and we'll
  409. 16:34just give it a quick name just call this
  410. 16:37one GoDaddy migration and we're going to
  411. 16:39create a new customer for this one so we
  412. 16:41hit
  413. 16:43new and put in that basic data there and
  414. 16:46hit
  415. 16:48save and go to our next step now this is
  416. 16:52the source endpoint that we're going to
  417. 16:54be connecting to so we haven't set one
  418. 16:56up already on this migration wi con cons
  419. 16:58for this client already so let's go
  420. 17:00ahead and create a new one so we just
  421. 17:01hit new there and we give it a name of
  422. 17:03the endpoint now this name is just for
  423. 17:06us that doesn't do anything else in
  424. 17:08terms of any setup we will go however
  425. 17:11and choose Microsoft 365 we don't have
  426. 17:13to specify any particular GoDaddy items
  427. 17:16in here it is a standard Microsoft 365
  428. 17:19count but under the username and
  429. 17:22password we need to go back back to our
  430. 17:24scratch Pad again and we'll grab that
  431. 17:25admin user and put the admin user in
  432. 17:27here
  433. 17:29grab this
  434. 17:31guy and we'll put him
  435. 17:33in and the
  436. 17:39password like so now that is our nope we
  437. 17:45don't want to put that into last pass
  438. 17:46thank you and there we have the source
  439. 17:51settings so we hit Next Step there and
  440. 17:53now we get to put the end point for the
  441. 17:57destination I'll say new on that as well
  442. 17:59and we'll give that one a name
  443. 18:01too and that is my my normal TCG E5 demo
  444. 18:05tenant the one I've used previously on
  445. 18:07other videos but that's the same so I'll
  446. 18:09put in the admin password as well
  447. 18:12there like so hit add there and go on to
  448. 18:17again thank you and Next Step there and
  449. 18:20we are not going to be configuring any
  450. 18:22type of coexistence for this project we
  451. 18:24don't need that we're going to leave
  452. 18:25that one
  453. 18:26empty and hit save go to the summary and
  454. 18:29you'll see that's where we are there now
  455. 18:31what I will do at this point is I will
  456. 18:33go one stage further if we save project
  457. 18:35it will jump into the project itself
  458. 18:36what I'm going to do is go straight into
  459. 18:38the advanced options here for the
  460. 18:39project and we're going to put those
  461. 18:41items in for the for the client and the
  462. 18:44Tenant IDs for the source and the
  463. 18:48target so the easiest way here is I'm
  464. 18:50just going to hit plus do that four
  465. 18:52times create four of those and jump into
  466. 18:55here and just grab each one of those
  467. 18:59like so and drop those
  468. 19:01in just like that and hit save that goes
  469. 19:06in and we go and save our project and we
  470. 19:09are in the standard Project
  471. 19:13screen now quick look at the Target
  472. 19:15tenant and you can see here I need to
  473. 19:17add a user uh we would normally you
  474. 19:19might have an automated process you
  475. 19:20could have an ad uh asure already
  476. 19:23connect feeding up those identities
  477. 19:25there but essentially we do need a place
  478. 19:27to have ear penfold's data live he needs
  479. 19:29to have an account on the target tenant
  480. 19:31he needs to have it licensed and a
  481. 19:33mailbox live so we can transfer that
  482. 19:36that data over so I'm going to create a
  483. 19:38brand new user for him just very quickly
  484. 19:40and have him set
  485. 19:41up now what I will show you in here is
  486. 19:44on the GoDaddy side his email address
  487. 19:47was just penfold at dangermouse
  488. 19:49films.com we can't bring dangermouse
  489. 19:52films.com over yet until we extract it
  490. 19:54from the goded domain which we can't do
  491. 19:56until we've migrated all the data and we
  492. 19:58effectively turn that all off so what
  493. 20:00I'm going to do is I'm going to be
  494. 20:01setting him up with another domain
  495. 20:03plum.com but also I'm going to change
  496. 20:05his username because the penfold doesn't
  497. 20:08meet the criteria of this particular
  498. 20:09account let's let's say the uh they're
  499. 20:12going from a small company to a large
  500. 20:13one so obviously just the name is not
  501. 20:14going to work too well so I'm going to
  502. 20:16make him earnest. penfold I'll show you
  503. 20:18in the console how we match those up so
  504. 20:20obviously we're taking data from penfold
  505. 20:23dangermouse films.com into earnest.
  506. 20:26penfold plenum once we're done with the
  507. 20:28migration we will be assigning him the
  508. 20:31dangermouse films.com domain as well so
  509. 20:35this is just a temporary step while we
  510. 20:36get the data over there and we'll see
  511. 20:39how that looks in the
  512. 20:40console so a quick look at his account
  513. 20:42we can see he's configured and he has a
  514. 20:45mailbox and that's good to go I'm going
  515. 20:48to go into another browser this is why
  516. 20:51we have so many different browsers
  517. 20:53available to us but if I look at another
  518. 20:55browser I've just logged on as ear .
  519. 20:58penfold plum.com in
  520. 21:01that Target tenant and if I go into
  521. 21:04outlook here we should see a blank yeah
  522. 21:06we do see a blank mailbox which is good
  523. 21:08and that's obviously a live mailbox we
  524. 21:10can email to it if we need to and and do
  525. 21:12that so really we're configured to set
  526. 21:14up we've got the god daddy all prepared
  527. 21:15and all done got the the target account
  528. 21:19ready to receive data and ready to to go
  529. 21:21so now let's let's add those email
  530. 21:23addresses into the migration with
  531. 21:24console and we'll get that migration
  532. 21:27started obviously different ways to
  533. 21:29bring data in bulk ad you can
  534. 21:31autodiscover I'm just going to do a
  535. 21:32quick ad which is just these names here
  536. 21:34which I'll type
  537. 21:36in
  538. 21:39back now there's different ways you can
  539. 21:41get the data in there we could do a bulk
  540. 21:43ad if we had a big spreadsheet of all
  541. 21:44the names we can Auto discover we've
  542. 21:46only got one so we're going to use the
  543. 21:48quick add option which will then let us
  544. 21:50just type these names
  545. 21:52in which done there and save item and
  546. 21:56close that will drop us back to to the
  547. 21:58main screen and we'll see now we've got
  548. 22:00the information up on screen here so you
  549. 22:02can see that's where I was talking about
  550. 22:03the matching we don't have to have the
  551. 22:05names exactly right we can say penfold
  552. 22:07Danger Mouse films to earnest. penfold
  553. 22:10plum.com and remember we are going to be
  554. 22:12changing this destination to dangermouse
  555. 22:14films.com at the end so I'm going to
  556. 22:16show you how to do that how we contact
  557. 22:18support get the dangermouse films.com
  558. 22:20released from the 365 tenant and then we
  559. 22:23can add it into our uh proper tenant
  560. 22:26over this side
  561. 22:29so first step I'm going to apply the
  562. 22:31license in here use a migration bundle
  563. 22:35and just do that quite quickly here hit
  564. 22:39apply and that will take a few minutes
  565. 22:41to apply but that'll hit the yes on
  566. 22:43there and that means we can uh we can
  567. 22:45move forward it's licensed but the next
  568. 22:47step really is to verify the credentials
  569. 22:50and that's the first step of any
  570. 22:51migration is to verify that the source
  571. 22:54and Target are configured correctly and
  572. 22:57it can see them mailboxes it can pick up
  573. 22:59the data and it can do something with it
  574. 23:01so we will do that first just wait for
  575. 23:04that license to appear so I just refresh
  576. 23:06that and that should happen for
  577. 23:09us we just hit the refresh here and yeah
  578. 23:13there we go so what we'll do is we'll
  579. 23:15just hit the tick box next to this and
  580. 23:17we do the start and we do verify
  581. 23:20credentials and hit okay there that will
  582. 23:24go off and do its thing we'll come back
  583. 23:25in a few minutes and see what it looks
  584. 23:27like
  585. 23:31so after a refresh we get completed
  586. 23:33verification with a TI that's always
  587. 23:35really good news when you when you see
  588. 23:37that so that's good we are ready to go
  589. 23:39ahead with this migration so what we do
  590. 23:41to start that off we will do the little
  591. 23:43tick here and we say start now we can do
  592. 23:45a pre-stage first and then a full
  593. 23:47migration the pre-stage is really good
  594. 23:48if you uh have a lot of Mile it you
  595. 23:51could have the option to do everything
  596. 23:53from 30 60 90 days back or or put a date
  597. 23:56and time in there backwards but it means
  598. 23:57you can get if you were doing a cut over
  599. 23:59let's suppose a cut over on a Friday
  600. 24:01night and they had 20 gig of mail you
  601. 24:04really want to be pre-staging everything
  602. 24:05into the account so when you do the full
  603. 24:07migration it's just going to do the
  604. 24:09remaining portion of that mail it's
  605. 24:11definitely a good practice to do that in
  606. 24:13this particular migration we don't have
  607. 24:14much M and we certainly don't have
  608. 24:16anything older than 30 days so I'm going
  609. 24:18to go straight away into a full
  610. 24:20migration obviously there's other videos
  611. 24:22on on all the details about why a
  612. 24:23pre-stage or why fall in this particular
  613. 24:26demo I'm just going to go straight to
  614. 24:28the four so we click on pinfold here and
  615. 24:30we do a full migration and we have these
  616. 24:33options to choose
  617. 24:35from and the main one is to say exactly
  618. 24:39what is being migrated inside the
  619. 24:41mailbox now normally you you'd want
  620. 24:44everything uh if you don't want to bring
  621. 24:45contacts or don't want to bring
  622. 24:47calendars just turn them off there and
  623. 24:49you've also got the option to
  624. 24:50automatically start it at a particular
  625. 24:52time you might say I just want to kick
  626. 24:53it off at 10: p.m. and let it go uh in
  627. 24:56this case once again again I'm just
  628. 24:58going to hit start migration and just do
  629. 25:00it immediately uh the license has
  630. 25:02already been uh checked on here so that
  631. 25:03I'll go ahead and consume that one and
  632. 25:06really we'll just uh sit back and watch
  633. 25:08that mail come into that mailbox
  634. 25:11now so if I go into the other browser I
  635. 25:14had with his mailbox we should see items
  636. 25:17I did put a uh calendar entry in couple
  637. 25:20of contacts in there and I made some sub
  638. 25:22folders as well so we should see that
  639. 25:24start to appear once that kicks off and
  640. 25:27get get it's
  641. 25:56running
  642. 26:12as you can see from that that was a
  643. 26:14quick little capture I left the the
  644. 26:16video running while it was doing the
  645. 26:18migration just to capture the point
  646. 26:20where the M starts populating into the
  647. 26:21inbox so that's what you just saw so you
  648. 26:24can see m is all here so let's have a
  649. 26:26quick look at other let's have a look at
  650. 26:28his calendar and yeah we have a calendar
  651. 26:31item that's come across that's uh
  652. 26:33certainly good and in context there
  653. 26:35should be couple there there we go Bob
  654. 26:37and then myself as well so really I know
  655. 26:40it's a small mailbox but effectively
  656. 26:42that has now come out of the the GoDaddy
  657. 26:44that is now inside a true M365 tenant in
  658. 26:48the uh sense of the word and now all
  659. 26:51that's left for us to do is finish off
  660. 26:52this Migration by extracting that
  661. 26:55out jump back into the
  662. 26:58console and you can see it's completed
  663. 27:01it's not a full migration we are we are
  664. 27:03good so really what we want to do now is
  665. 27:05we want to take the dangermouse
  666. 27:08films.com we want to apply that to the
  667. 27:10other tenant now that's inside the
  668. 27:12Google sorry the GoDaddy uh tenant side
  669. 27:16so I do need to talk to support to get
  670. 27:19that done so I'm going to show you what
  671. 27:21we do with that
  672. 27:24now so in the goad console we hit
  673. 27:28contact house now the nice thing is we
  674. 27:29can do the whole thing through chat so
  675. 27:31we'll go in here technical
  676. 27:34support and my gosh it's going to beep
  677. 27:37like that every time oh
  678. 27:40dear that is very annoying let me turn
  679. 27:43that off for
  680. 27:48you so we choose email as the item here
  681. 27:52and you can see the ones here and I'm
  682. 27:54going to say something else
  683. 27:59what can we help
  684. 28:02with
  685. 28:04ccel
  686. 28:0665 email account really what I want to
  687. 28:08do here is not necessarily do it through
  688. 28:10the little chat box we need to be able
  689. 28:14to get a hold of a real
  690. 28:16person
  691. 28:18so
  692. 28:20new just go through this so it's going
  693. 28:22to prompt us to get to talk to somebody
  694. 28:25effectively is what we're after
  695. 28:37and there we go transferring to a real
  696. 28:39person and I can explain what we need to
  697. 28:43do chuse tech support
  698. 28:50there and it's email
  699. 28:56yes
  700. 28:59that's good I will come back and show
  701. 29:02you what happens when we get to speak to
  702. 29:03the real
  703. 29:05person okay we have somebody here I'm
  704. 29:07going to type what we want to do uh yep
  705. 29:11sure thing I'll put my details in
  706. 29:15there pause that while I do
  707. 29:18it look like we're connected with a real
  708. 29:20person so I can start this chat I will
  709. 29:22uh put those details in and see what he
  710. 29:26says there just telling him that I need
  711. 29:28to cancel and remove that M365 account
  712. 29:31and remove the domain from M365
  713. 29:34environment as
  714. 29:37well we'll probably start off wanting me
  715. 29:39to verify my identity pin number all
  716. 29:41that sort of thing with a secure for so
  717. 29:43we'll let him start with that this
  718. 29:46doesn't take too long once you get into
  719. 29:48it once they as long as you get a person
  720. 29:50that actually knows what you're talking
  721. 29:52about it's done pretty quickly but uh
  722. 29:54and you'll see the times on here as as
  723. 29:57we go through this chat so keep an eye
  724. 29:58on that about how long it would take
  725. 30:00don't expect that you can just do this
  726. 30:02in a couple of minutes because often it
  727. 30:04can take a little bit longer so prepare
  728. 30:06yourself for that but we we'll see how
  729. 30:09long this particular one
  730. 30:12takes so he's asking me so you want to
  731. 30:15delete the domain and email account I
  732. 30:16just want to make sure I'm correct there
  733. 30:18and make sure I tell him the right thing
  734. 30:20I want to retain the domain registration
  735. 30:22because it's new but yes I need to
  736. 30:23remove the email account and the domain
  737. 30:26I'll say that
  738. 30:27from inside
  739. 30:32M365 all right so this is that
  740. 30:34verification I'm talking about here
  741. 30:35they'll ask you for the customer number
  742. 30:37and a pin you click on that you'll get a
  743. 30:39secure form so I'm just going to go
  744. 30:41ahead and put those
  745. 30:47in that you don't get to see them so
  746. 30:50I'll just let it go through as I'm
  747. 30:52typing and see what he says with
  748. 30:56that
  749. 30:58right he just sent a text to my phone
  750. 31:00asking me for that number so once again
  751. 31:03it's not much use to you guys so I'll
  752. 31:05just type it in there you can see
  753. 31:07it that should confirm that I am who I
  754. 31:10say I am with
  755. 31:13them okay looking good here that's the
  756. 31:15one that he's found so I'll say yes that
  757. 31:18is the correct
  758. 31:24one now he's confirming the order number
  759. 31:26which I put the email account on I do
  760. 31:29have other things on that order so I'm
  761. 31:30just confirming with him to say only
  762. 31:32remove that email address I do need to
  763. 31:34retain those domain registrations just
  764. 31:36to make sure he doesn't cancel the whole
  765. 31:38order thinking that's what I want to do
  766. 31:40I'm just being very specific to make
  767. 31:42sure I don't run into any
  768. 31:44issues oh looks like we might be getting
  769. 31:46some action that is
  770. 31:50good well looks like that portion is
  771. 31:53done I'll ask him about the domain
  772. 31:56now
  773. 31:58[Music]
  774. 32:00here
  775. 32:02mouse. from
  776. 32:09the that's obviously the key thing I
  777. 32:11mean I can go and delete an email
  778. 32:12address that's no problem just making
  779. 32:14sure he's done that piece too he's
  780. 32:16probably going to do that next I would
  781. 32:19say and there we go it has been removed
  782. 32:23by the look of
  783. 32:26that
  784. 32:27[Music]
  785. 32:28awesome thank you very
  786. 32:31much and after that we'll get the normal
  787. 32:34is anything I can help you with how do
  788. 32:36you rate the person would you suggest Go
  789. 32:40Daddy for of your friend all the normal
  790. 32:42stuff so I'll go through and do that
  791. 32:43give them a nice a nice little review on
  792. 32:45that and then we'll come back and just
  793. 32:47check it out make sure it has gone from
  794. 32:49the from the GoDaddy side and then we'll
  795. 32:52go and add it in they do say a few hours
  796. 32:54but but generally give it 30 minutes
  797. 32:56maybe 45 at the most and we are all good
  798. 32:59after that we go oh no surver or maybe
  799. 33:03get a survey we'll see but that's a nice
  800. 33:06thing yeah there we go okay I'll I'll do
  801. 33:08that and let's go and check out that uh
  802. 33:11check out the domain now after
  803. 33:13this yeah looking at that the email
  804. 33:16dashboard now check it out the account
  805. 33:18is being deleted that will drop off
  806. 33:20pretty soon and we can add the account
  807. 33:22into the other
  808. 33:25tenant so in the Target tenant we can
  809. 33:28just add the domain and we put that
  810. 33:32in films.com and that we'll know that
  811. 33:36it's on
  812. 33:37GoDaddy and will ask us to do the verify
  813. 33:41which we will do we just sign in and get
  814. 33:43that
  815. 33:45done it always just presents us with
  816. 33:47that screen which we do that sign in and
  817. 33:49verify so I'll just do that
  818. 33:52quickly it then asks us to hit the
  819. 33:55connect and and there we go now you can
  820. 34:00see this is the error I was talking
  821. 34:01about you can see that the send your
  822. 34:04mouse films.com is already added to this
  823. 34:06now you'll remember this domain from
  824. 34:08when we're doing the admin side of the
  825. 34:09house so you can see we do have to just
  826. 34:12wait a little bit for it to come back so
  827. 34:14I'm going to um just hit close on
  828. 34:17that and you can see now it's going to
  829. 34:19sit in this incomplete setup stage so
  830. 34:22I'll give it an hour and then we can go
  831. 34:24back in and take this and uh and do that
  832. 34:27setup we would go back in and do the
  833. 34:28start setup and of course we get back to
  834. 34:30the same thing again uh which we'll just
  835. 34:32go through and do once it does get
  836. 34:34released by the GoDaddy side that will
  837. 34:36then go through and be available for us
  838. 34:38to use so I'll come back
  839. 34:43shortly give another try now go into the
  840. 34:46engine Mouse films we'll start the setup
  841. 34:50and let it do the authorization again
  842. 34:53verify that it ask us to confirm with
  843. 34:56good Ed just that down for you
  844. 34:59connection then it should verify the
  845. 35:01domain and hopefully add it into the
  846. 35:04tenant and it looks like it's moving
  847. 35:06forward this time so we'll do the
  848. 35:07connection for the DNS the DNS won't
  849. 35:10change obviously because it's exactly
  850. 35:12the same for 11 tenant to another so we
  851. 35:14should find that just letting this go
  852. 35:15through and add the DNS records in we
  853. 35:18just tell it to add them in for Go Daddy
  854. 35:20I'm happy for it to do that it's not
  855. 35:22going to need to change anything we just
  856. 35:24go ahead and use what it has already
  857. 35:27but it should mean once it connects
  858. 35:28through and works uh yeah domain setup
  859. 35:31is complete there we go that will now
  860. 35:33give us if I go back to the domains list
  861. 35:35we should see yes here we are d mouse
  862. 35:37films as a healthy domain which is
  863. 35:39obviously a good
  864. 35:42sign last bit of setup we do which would
  865. 35:45happen obviously over a lot of accounts
  866. 35:47if they were to need updating but in
  867. 35:50this case it's just Earnest I'm going to
  868. 35:52go into the username and email here I'm
  869. 35:55just going to add in now we're not going
  870. 35:56to add just the penfold at D mouse films
  871. 35:59we'll just add in his full
  872. 36:02name in here first of all that add that
  873. 36:06in and as a second one I'll add penfold
  874. 36:11just so there's uh a completeness if he
  875. 36:13does get any emails going to that old
  876. 36:15address we can have that sitting in
  877. 36:17there as well and I will make this one
  878. 36:19here primary
  879. 36:22email and save changes there should see
  880. 36:27those take effect pretty
  881. 36:29quickly so we've now got earnest. pfall
  882. 36:32Danger Mouse films as his UPN and his
  883. 36:35primary email so we can do a quick test
  884. 36:36on that let's log in as him and send an
  885. 36:39email to that address to just just as a
  886. 36:40final check to make sure everything is
  887. 36:43correctly set up for
  888. 36:46him so we log in here into the
  889. 36:49office.com and
  890. 36:52that so password and a quick
  891. 36:56authenticated a check as
  892. 37:00well there we
  893. 37:04go and let's just run up Outlook and see
  894. 37:08his there good he got Mal from today
  895. 37:10good we'll just send him a quick note as
  896. 37:12well so I just draft up a quick email
  897. 37:14for him send there and that should pop
  898. 37:17in pretty quickly I
  899. 37:22hope and there we go it is so he is
  900. 37:25receiving on that up again and that
  901. 37:27Prime email address uh everything looks
  902. 37:33good so there we have everything
  903. 37:35completed we have successfully moved an
  904. 37:36account from the GoDaddy M365 hosted
  905. 37:40system that they run into a 4 M365
  906. 37:53tenant
