2. 0:08it was born in a log cabin in Kentucky a
3. 0:11hundred years earlier Abraham Lincoln
4. 0:14was born in the same community
5. 0:15his parents reported that when he was
6. 0:17born a light came out of the sky and
7. 0:19came to the window and held over the
8. 0:21little crib where they laid the newborn
9. 0:22baby that's the way God told his parents
10. 0:25he was a special child and had a great
11. 0:27work from the do in the future
12. 0:28this man is named William Brennan he'd
13. 0:30be known as the prophet of the day no
14. 0:32one sends her after him for a hundred
15. 0:34years had the miracles and the
16. 0:36uniqueness of his gifts like William
17. 0:37Brennan
18. 0:38I'm Robert Slayton and this is God's
19. 0:40generous

23. 0:55William Brennan's probably one of the
24. 0:57most interesting personalities I've had
25. 0:59the privilege of studying getting to
26. 1:00know his family and those who work with
27. 1:02him during his life and his ministry
28. 1:04William Brennan was born in Kentucky
29. 1:06about a hundred years after Abraham
30. 1:09Lincoln had been born in a log cabin
31. 1:10just like Lincoln was born in a log
32. 1:12cabin and God used different means to
33. 1:16communicate to the mountain people now
34. 1:18where I'm a city guy his family were
35. 1:21mountain people so I've always learned
36. 1:22as a minister God speaks to people in
37. 1:24the ways they understand and like I said
38. 1:26in the introduction when he was born a
39. 1:29lot came out of the sky through the
40. 1:30window and came up with a crib where
41. 1:32Brenham had been laid after he was born
42. 1:34and that was the way God communicated to
43. 1:37his family that this was a special child
44. 1:39and that God had something great for him
45. 1:41to do now has he got a little bit older
46. 1:44the second time God began to visit him
47. 1:46in a very audible and dramatic way was
48. 1:49he was on his way to the well to get
49. 1:51water remember their mountain people not
50. 1:53in modern times and it was going with
51. 1:55the bucket to get some water out of the
52. 1:56well and there was a wind in one tree
53. 1:59and God spoke out of the wind we have a
54. 2:02film clip here that we're gonna show you
55. 2:03now of William Brennan telling the story
56. 2:06of how God visited him as a little boy I
57. 2:08was born in Eastern Kentucky a little
58. 2:13log cabin near Burkesville Kentucky the
59. 2:18morning of my birth I'm told of my
60. 2:20parents that there was a light came into
61. 2:24the room and hung over me my people was
62. 2:28not a religious people they did not go
63. 2:32to any church of course this caused
64. 2:36quite a stir among men it's follow me
65. 2:40all the days of my life recently they
66. 2:44took a picture of it in a scientific
67. 2:46world as shown here you're probably
68. 2:49familiar with this picture it was proven
69. 2:53by science it was the only supernatural
70. 2:57beam that was ever scientifically
71. 2:59photographed to my opinion it's the same
72. 3:03angel of God that follow
73. 3:06the children of Israel at the age of
74. 3:11seven we moved from Kentucky to Indiana
75. 3:14of throat a bit from where we live now
76. 3:18we packed our water then from a well
77. 3:21some city block up suppose behind the
78. 3:24old country home one beautiful September
79. 3:29afternoon while coming from the pump
80. 3:31with some water it was a stately poplar
81. 3:34tree stood about halfway between the
82. 3:38pumps and the home passing by there
83. 3:42there was the world of wind in the trees
84. 3:44but we call here a whirlwind why was
85. 3:49nothing on for that time of year in this
86. 3:51part of the country but it remained in
87. 3:53the tree it didn't leave I've stopped to
88. 3:55see what it was and a voice spoke from
89. 3:58it saying do not never smoke our drink
90. 4:02our defile your body in any way for that
91. 4:05will be a work for you to do when you
92. 4:07get older frightened that's not a word
93. 4:11part I ran home quickly telling my
94. 4:15mother that a man spoke to me out of a
95. 4:17tree well she thought I was nervous she
96. 4:19put me to bed but from then on visions
97. 4:23begin to come when this comes up on me
98. 4:26it produces a vision I am able to tell
99. 4:29people what's wrong with them and what
100. 4:32they must do in life and the sins that
101. 4:34they are holding back in their life at
102. 4:36the age of 37 one night I was praying in
103. 4:41my room and when I raised up I notices
104. 4:45the light on the floor and looking
105. 4:48around and see where it comes from it
106. 4:49was coming from above the pillar of fire
107. 4:52was hanging just above was throwing the
108. 4:55light on the floor
109. 4:56I heard someone walking I loved coming
110. 5:00through the room coming into this life
111. 5:02came a man and human figure he'd be
112. 5:06about 200 pounds of weight yet dark hair
113. 5:09to his shoulder and olive complexion his
114. 5:12barefooted of course I was frightened
115. 5:16and he said to me fear not and as soon
116. 5:18as I heard that voice I knew it was the
117. 5:20same voice that had always spoke to me
118. 5:22but the first time I'd ever seen in
119. 5:24human farm they said I'm sent from the
120. 5:27presence of God to tell you that sure to
121. 5:30pray for sick people great signs and
122. 5:32wonders will be following your ministry
123. 5:34and you'll be praying for kings and
124. 5:36monarchs and so forth well I told him I
125. 5:39was a poor man I had no education I
126. 5:42would not be able to do this job he said
127. 5:45as Moses was given two signs of
128. 5:47confirmation of his ministry that I
129. 5:49would be given two signs one would be
130. 5:51the praying for the sixth miracles and
131. 5:53the other would be you know the very
132. 5:54secrets of the people's heart I told him
133. 5:57that I had been praying about this that
134. 5:59the people told me that it was of the
135. 6:01devil the ministry he referred to me
136. 6:04many scriptures such as when philip
137. 6:06found nathanael
138. 6:08and the Fanueil came to jesus what jesus
139. 6:11told him where he had been where he was
140. 6:13under the tree when Nathaniel family and
141. 6:16many other scriptures such as the woman
142. 6:19at the well how that she was revealed
143. 6:21her sins to her when Jesus told her that
144. 6:25she had five husbands she ran into the
145. 6:27city and said this is the crime many
146. 6:31other scriptures he referred to I told
147. 6:34him I would go he gave me the assurance
148. 6:36that he would be with me always as
149. 6:39Brenham obeyed that voice or God telling
150. 6:42what to do as a child not to drink or to
151. 6:44smoke his father made fun of him his
152. 6:46brothers made fun of his friends made
153. 6:48fun of him but he stayed true to that
154. 6:50voice it made an impact on him sometimes
155. 6:53you've got to do what God tells you to
156. 6:55do no matter what your family and
157. 6:56friends around you say because they
158. 6:59don't understand
159. 7:00don't be mad at them but don't let their
160. 7:01words or their attitudes affect your
161. 7:03obeying what God told you to do as he
162. 7:06grew up into adulthood he became a
163. 7:08Baptist minister his first wife and
164. 7:10first child would also die so he had a
165. 7:12tragedy in his first life he wanted to
166. 7:15become a boxer of all things nice little
167. 7:18soft-spoken William Branham wanted to be
168. 7:20a boxer but every young man has his
169. 7:22dreams and his goals but God had a
170. 7:24different dream as you begin to journey
171. 7:26throughout his life he became a a game
172. 7:29warden he worked in the woods he liked
173. 7:31being outside among nature that was kind
174. 7:33of his personality but in 1946 he was
175. 7:37out doing his job and an angel came from
176. 7:40the throne of God to tell him a message
177. 7:43that message was this the angel appeared
178. 7:46to me to get seen I died like physical
179. 7:49form as an open vision the angel said
180. 7:51I've come from the throne of God to tell
181. 7:53you that you've been given two gifts the
182. 7:55first gift is another secrets of men's
183. 7:58hearts and the second gift is a new
184. 8:00signs of wonders to affirm or to confirm
185. 8:03that what you say is from God these two
186. 8:06gifts were residential in Brenham where
187. 8:08most other people's gifts flow through
188. 8:10them at times branham's gifts were
189. 8:12residential and lived inside of him at
190. 8:14all times
191. 8:15that's why as he began to grow in his
192. 8:17giftings his phenomena was he was able
193. 8:20to walk up to people know everything
194. 8:22about their life know their name their
195. 8:24wife's name where they lived while they
196. 8:25did last night what they had for dinner
197. 8:27what their problem was and now you're
198. 8:29healed go home that was typical william
199. 8:31branham ministry now when we come back
200. 8:34in a few minutes I'm going to tell you
201. 8:36more of his story but I want to take a
202. 8:38moment so you can see him operate and
203. 8:40his supernatural gifts that God gave him
204. 8:42because his story is phenomenal his
205. 8:45story has a sadness to it his story has
206. 8:47some very important life applications
207. 8:49that we need to talk about before I
208. 8:51begin to tell us the complete story I
209. 8:52want you to see him operate in the gifts
210. 8:55that God gave him now do you believe
211. 8:58the angel of God who has been sent to me
212. 9:03to help you to believe Jesus Christ does
213. 9:06not do foot from where I'm standing
214. 9:08right now
215. 9:09if you believe me to be his servant
216. 9:11he'll take my word I can't make you
217. 9:14believe it you don't have to leave it
218. 9:16here now that's a platform
219. 9:22now the Lord bless you will not talk to
220. 9:25the woman everyone be in prayer these
221. 9:26are sick people now if this lady says
222. 9:29that she is a stranger to me I've never
223. 9:32seen her in my life no at all of sewing
224. 9:34her any way at all now I could not heal
225. 9:37her no more than I could save her and
226. 9:40you know I couldn't do that but Jesus
227. 9:43Christ has already did all of that when
228. 9:45he died at Calvary but he sent gifts
229. 9:47into his church is that rise to this day
230. 9:49amen
231. 9:50and the gift hard to watch edify the
232. 9:53church is that right in other words to
233. 9:55see believers
234. 9:56unbelievers come in and save truly the
235. 9:59Bible says can you all speak with
236. 10:00tongues and there come in the
237. 10:02unbelievers while they'll say you're a
238. 10:03man but if there be one prophesy and
239. 10:06reveal the secrets of the heart then
240. 10:08that unbeliever fall down and say truly
241. 10:10God is witness
242. 10:11is that right exactly right
243. 10:15all right you believe now with all your
244. 10:17heart that Jesus Christ the Son of God
245. 10:19is here now to perform and to do the
246. 10:23things that he promised he would do lady
247. 10:26I just want to talk to you as you know
248. 10:29the reason I'm doing this is to contact
249. 10:33your spirit when you believe with all
250. 10:36your heart and if God will just reveal
251. 10:39to me what is wrong with you would you
252. 10:41accept him as your healer you would now
253. 10:45we are strangers I suppose RP never seen
254. 10:49each other in life's nowhere but God
255. 10:51will usher on with you isn't that right
256. 10:54you wonder your greatest thing you're an
257. 10:57even although isn't that right you
258. 11:00believe that God will make you well
259. 11:01Lord Jesus I pray that you will heal the
260. 11:05woman make her well father may she go
261. 11:08from here tonight and be made completely
262. 11:10whole in Jesus Christ's name on esta Amy

264. 11:18according to your faith center see he
265. 11:20never told me one thing just said what
266. 11:21was wrong

278. 11:53disbelieve Ezard God has sent his son
279. 11:58and has performed this thing that he
280. 12:02speaks up now and has done all these
281. 12:05thing aside and you have sent his Bible
282. 12:08sent his preachers sent his gifts and
283. 12:11you still disbelieve he there's nothing
284. 12:13left for you but to be condemned at the
285. 12:15end is that right but the only thing
286. 12:19this is to do is to glorify God and to
287. 12:22reveal Jesus Christ the when he was here
288. 12:27on earth he did this very same thing all
289. 12:31Bible readers believe that say Amen
290. 12:34and he says when I go away now come
291. 12:37again a little on the world will see me
292. 12:39no more that's the unbelievers but you
293. 12:42should see me who's a believers for I'll
294. 12:44be with you even in you to the end of
295. 12:47the world
296. 12:48is that true then it's sin to disbelieve
297. 12:53going in sin the more are disbelieve the
298. 12:56more our worst thing that this will come
299. 12:58upon you said Jesus that truth then we
300. 13:02must believe it's got to be a belief our
301. 13:05perish if I was gone if they could take
302. 13:09my word for it that would settle it but
303. 13:12people still don't take the word then
304. 13:14signs and wonders are added into the
305. 13:16churches Jesus Christ promised to do and
306. 13:19tomorrow honestly my babies finishing up
307. 13:22right now with the Jets house and we'll
308. 13:24turn to the Jews right away and a
309. 13:26Gentiles will be left in their darkness
310. 13:29and the things that they got their
311. 13:30creaks and cold formal denominations to
312. 13:33the church will be raptured tuck up and
313. 13:35the gospel will go to the Jews

380. 16:39driving down the road one day and he saw
381. 16:40a tip meeting kinda like the one we're
382. 16:42in today probably a bit larger than this
383. 16:44one is an afternoon and so they drove up
384. 16:47and got out of his car and went into the
385. 16:4910th meeting and here's how they picked
386. 16:51the preacher for the afternoon meeting
387. 16:52that afternoon they want to let the
388. 16:54youngest preacher in the tent preach the
389. 16:56afternoon meeting so they went around
390. 16:57how many are preachers here and
391. 16:59everybody raised their hand there were
392. 17:00preachers and how old are you and how
393. 17:02are you and you know Brenham raised his
394. 17:04hand and he happened to be the youngest
395. 17:06preacher in the tent that afternoon and
396. 17:08they let him preach can you imagine
397. 17:09having your guest speaker in the
398. 17:11afternoon meeting just drive up get out
399. 17:13of the car and then he ends up preaching
400. 17:15well he was among a group of people
401. 17:17called Jesus only they were a group of
402. 17:19Pentecostals that did not believe in the
403. 17:21Trinity they didn't believe him the
404. 17:22Father Son and Holy Ghost they just
405. 17:24believed there was only one and that was
406. 17:26Jesus and so he stood up to preach and
407. 17:28these Pentecostals discerned as he begin
408. 17:31to flow and begin to speak that there
409. 17:33was something special about this young
410. 17:35preacher that afternoon after he got
411. 17:37done preaching they talked with him and
412. 17:39befriended him and begin to have him
413. 17:40preaching their services and he began to
414. 17:42operate in his gift by knowing people's
415. 17:45secrets and saying things to them
416. 17:47privately as he walked into the Tim or
417. 17:50after the tenth or sometimes in the
418. 17:52middle of ultra service he would say
419. 17:54things to people and these Pentecostals
420. 17:56picked up like whoa there's something
421. 17:59unique about this and it was around this
422. 18:01group of people that he begin to the
423. 18:03his public gift about knowing the
424. 18:06secrets of men's hearts and doing signs
425. 18:07and wonders and when this was going to
426. 18:09happen in a very strong way these people
427. 18:12begin to say you got to come and see
428. 18:14this man so he goes to Arkansas and
429. 18:17there's a young man named Gordon Lindsay
430. 18:19that's invited to come and see this
431. 18:21prophet this man that has an unusual
432. 18:23gift now Gordon Lindsay was not a
433. 18:26oneness person he was a trinitarian but
434. 18:28he was friend with everybody that was
435. 18:29one of his great gifts one of his great
436. 18:31personalities and he could be friends
437. 18:33with anybody and so he goes there and
438. 18:35seems Brenham operate and calling out
439. 18:38people's diseases and names and
440. 18:39addresses and phone numbers and they'd
441. 18:41get healed and so after the meeting
442. 18:43William Branham and him got together and
443. 18:46talked and they felt click they became
444. 18:48good friends and Brenham said would you
445. 18:50become my business manager of my
446. 18:52ministry in Gordon Lindsay said sure
447. 18:54I'll do that and Gordon Lindsay was the
448. 18:57organize and the administrative type of
449. 18:59person and William Branham let me just
450. 19:01be honest with you he was not educated
451. 19:03very much beyond like the second or
452. 19:05third grade he didn't understand all the
453. 19:07administrative things he just wanted to
454. 19:09be nice and talked to people and flowing
455. 19:11his gifts and go home and be with his
456. 19:13family so Gordon landed him build this
457. 19:15relationship
458. 19:16he starts organizing the the church
459. 19:18meetings and advertises in them written
460. 19:20to convention centers when they out
461. 19:21crude the churches and so this began to
462. 19:24grow and to explode and so Gordon
463. 19:26Lindsay also would do this in the
464. 19:28Brenham campaigns because William
465. 19:29Branham really wasn't a great preacher
466. 19:31I've interviewed many people that would
467. 19:33be in Brenham meetings and they would
468. 19:36sleep while he was preaching and when he
469. 19:38wasn't operating his gifting I'll wake
470. 19:39up and watch you please the promise of
471. 19:54the Holy Spirit and he Justice skated to
472. 19:57you as he was sicinius
473. 19:59the same czar cause he's done and he has
474. 20:02to keep his word then I didn't see
475. 20:06opinions he craved he desired to see the
476. 20:09Christ he believed what the Word of God
477. 20:12instead to him
478. 20:13what the critics said he believes a word
479. 20:15of God there was a yearning in his heart
480. 20:17to see the Christ and he believed he
481. 20:19would as David said when the deep call
482. 20:23up to the team many of the injured
483. 20:26believes in divine he to you you believe
484. 20:30in divine meaning the very reason asyou
485. 20:32believe in divine healing please there
486. 20:34is a divine you in the beginning days of
487. 20:37the Brenham campaigns
488. 20:39Gordon Lindsey would teach in the
489. 20:41afternoon the word and teach you how to
490. 20:44get healed and keep their healing and
491. 20:45sometimes William Brennan would let
492. 20:48Gordon Lindsey preach the sermon at
493. 20:49night and then Brennan would come up and
494. 20:51just do the miracle line and so that's
495. 20:53how it began and so there was a great
496. 20:55camaraderie between these two Gordon
497. 20:58Lindsey was the word guy Brennan was a
498. 21:00spirit guide and sew them together made
499. 21:02a great team together now what happened
500. 21:05was as Brennan would begin to minister
501. 21:07he would go sometimes two or three
502. 21:09o'clock at night praying for each person
503. 21:11individually like you saw in the clip
504. 21:13well if you do that every night two to
505. 21:15three o'clock at night eventually you'll
506. 21:17get exhausted long story short here he
507. 21:20comes in one days and tells Gordon
508. 21:21Lindsey I'm done I'm finished I'm
509. 21:24leaving the ministry I can't do this
510. 21:26anymore
511. 21:27and he walks out and leaves Gordon is
512. 21:29with all these contracts of auditoriums
513. 21:31that have been booked the magazine that
514. 21:33he now had prepared and begin to send
515. 21:35out to all the thousands of followers a
516. 21:37brother branham hit all that doesn't he
517. 21:40thought what am I gonna do the Prophet
518. 21:42is left the minister is gone I've got
519. 21:44these magazine subscriptions I've got
520. 21:47these auditoriums I can't cancel or I
521. 21:49lose all this money and so at this
522. 21:51moment there was a great revival that we
523. 21:54call the voice of Helium revival and
524. 21:56what Gordon Lindsey did why Brennan went
525. 21:59back to Indiana to rest and recuperate
526. 22:01thinking he's never coming back into
527. 22:02ministry again
528. 22:03Lindsey calls different preachers Jack
529. 22:06Coe our vineyard different he did a
530. 22:09vendor's in to pick up these meetings
531. 22:11that had booked in his auditoriums and
532. 22:12begin to hold voice of healing
533. 22:15conventions and changed the name with a
534. 22:17magazine for Brenham to the voice of
535. 22:19healing magazine so that
536. 22:21how the revival begin to pull all the
537. 22:23other ministers together it was when
538. 22:25Brandon decided I can do this anymore
539. 22:27and he walked out at the height of this
540. 22:29revival we have over a hundred and fifty
541. 22:32different Heenan evangelists that would
542. 22:33work with the Gordon Lindsay ministries
543. 22:35and the magazine to help propagate their
544. 22:38books or tapes or campaigns and so that
545. 22:41did not in Gordon Lindsay's life they
546. 22:44kind of made him to go into a bigger
547. 22:45influence in the nation after a period
548. 22:49of time Branham decided that he had
549. 22:50recuperated he wanted to come back so it
550. 22:53came back to Gordon Lindsay and said
551. 22:54well will you come back and be my
552. 22:56business manager and Gordon Lindsay goes
553. 22:58no I won't do that because he was kind
554. 23:00of scared that Brenda made his leave him
555. 23:03again so he said why don't you just join
556. 23:04what we're doing and be a part of the
557. 23:06big the big picture and Branham humbly
558. 23:09and respectfully joined the big picture
559. 23:11even though he stood out above everybody
560. 23:12else with his gifts and his abilities
561. 23:14and so Branham continued to preach and
562. 23:17do his campaigns but the relationship
563. 23:19between Lindsay and Branham was broken
564. 23:21and this was one of the great mistakes
565. 23:23that happen in the Brenham life Branham
566. 23:26and Lindsay was able to work together in
567. 23:28talking about the word keeping things in
568. 23:31order
569. 23:31doctor on-air did not come in because
570. 23:33the Lindsay was a word man Brennan was a
571. 23:35flow in the Holy Ghost man and that
572. 23:37together keep the right balance when
573. 23:39this relationship was broken then there
574. 23:42was a problem and then Brandon began to
575. 23:44have false doctrines come in begin to
576. 23:47have different things now some people
577. 23:48have got angry at me because I talked
