- 0:14from the first time you raise someone
- 0:16from the dead it took him three tons
- 0:17push them against the wall but they came
- 0:19back to life again he was also known for
- 0:21being very abrupt in the prayer lines he
- 0:23would hit cancers and punch people in
- 0:25the stomach and sometimes be very rude
- 0:26on what he told him to do this is none
- 0:28other than Smith Wigglesworth he was
- 0:30known for saying I'm a thousand times
- 0:32bigger on the inside than on the outside
- 0:34I'm Robert Sheridan with God's general
- 0:35the British Isles has produced all the
- 0:37greatness and the world they have held
- 0:39form Nations they've helped solve Wars
- 0:42but one thing is also known for is how
- 0:44it has blessed the world with the faith
- 0:46of Christianity John Wesley came from
- 0:48there
- 0:49you've got George Jeffries out of the
- 0:51ELA movement and probably one of the
- 0:52most unusual personalities especially
- 0:54for the Pentecostal world is a man named
- 0:56Smith Wigglesworth when I first began
- 0:58studying the life of great preachers and
- 1:01revival leaders I read swiftly with
- 1:03those worst Bognor feet called the
- 1:04apostle of faith when I first read I
- 1:06thought can these stories really be true
- 1:08about how he preached and prayed for the
- 1:10sick and so I begin my journey to see if
- 1:13these stories were true and they were
- 1:14true Smith Wigglesworth was known for
- 1:17his unusual ability to create faith in
- 1:20people's heart when he preached but
- 1:21probably the story that now live long
- 1:24after his death that's how he was so
- 1:26abrupt how he was so uncouth in the way
- 1:29he would pray for those seeking healing
- 1:31for from his prayers and so we start
- 1:34with the study of where wiglesworth
- 1:35begin his life first like I said he
- 1:37comes from Great Britain and so can you
- 1:40believe today with England being so calm
- 1:42and so proper here comes an unusual
- 1:44personality that there's not even an act
- 1:46British you would even consider an
- 1:48British is the way he would pray for the
- 1:49people and how abrupt he wasn't
- 1:51answering some of their most logical and
- 1:53simple questions
- 1:54one time he was a trained for a man that
- 1:57was needed healing that night he came
- 1:59back the next night and he told him
- 2:01didn't I pray for you last night and the
- 2:03man said yes when I wasn't healed and
- 2:05what girl says well that's unbelief get
- 2:06on my prayer line and pushed him out of
- 2:08the prayer line and didn't even pray for
- 2:09him wiglesworth believed you pray once
- 2:12that's faith you prayed twice that's
- 2:13unbelief so that will begin to give you
- 2:15a little bit of a his personality a
- 2:17little bit of his flavor of how he was
- 2:19he was born again when he was a little
- 2:22boy he was raised in Bradford he went
- 2:25to his grandmother's Methodist Church
- 2:27where he first found Jesus and then when
- 2:29the bishop confirmed him into the Church
- 2:32of England and he realized became aware
- 2:35I should say of the presence of God and
- 2:37that was from the first time that he
- 2:38records in his writings that he felt and
- 2:41became aware of God's tangible presence
- 2:43which would be something that he would
- 2:45live in and desire for the rest of his
- 2:47life once he got into his ministry now
- 2:49to understand what goes worse the life a
- 2:51little bit better we're in the 1800s the
- 2:54middle to the last other part of the
- 2:561800s and there was a revival group of
- 2:58people called The Salvation Army now
- 3:01most of the Salvation Army today in
- 3:02England and America around the world
- 3:04they don't act like they did when
- 3:06William Booth and his wife Catherine
- 3:08were alive and had just founded the
- 3:10Salvation Army if you were alive in the
- 3:121800s or the middle 1800 I should say
- 3:14you should join the Salvation Army
- 3:15because that was where God was moving
- 3:17the most traumatic and the most powerful
- 3:19weights at that time these people prayed
- 3:22for Souls and went for the worst first
- 3:24and Dhanam and so this is where
- 3:27wiglesworth begin his ministry whiffle
- 3:29did not begin praying for the sick he
- 3:31began working in the Salvation Army in
- 3:34winning souls and helped me what we
- 3:35would call the day the children's
- 3:37ministry the children's minister for him
- 3:39was this that he would get a little pony
- 3:40and walk down the streets of Bradford
- 3:43and know how little horses are punted to
- 3:44the track kids and all the kids had run
- 3:46up and want to pet the horse and want to
- 3:48ride the horse and so wiglesworth would
- 3:50say I'll give you a ride to the church
- 3:52to salvation army Church there and back
- 3:55if you'll go to church with me and all
- 3:56the kids are yes we'll go we'll go and
- 3:58that's how will the truth begin his
- 4:00ministry for Jesus and so in one of the
- 4:03sub Asian Army meetings there was a lady
- 4:05preacher now back in those days women
- 4:07preachers are very unusual so for the
- 4:09Salvation Army to empower women and that
- 4:12women preach was a big deal especially
- 4:14in the 1800s and so Smith sister
- 4:18was preaching and Smith was in the
- 4:21balcony and she gave an altar call and
- 4:24he noticed a lady walking down the aisle
- 4:26and gave her life to Jesus that day and
- 4:29while he was watching this whole scene
- 4:31go on at the altar place the Lord spoken
- 4:34that that lady was his wife her name was
- 4:37pauly and so that day
- 4:38Paulie got saved and met her future
- 4:41husband weathers worth came out of the
- 4:43balcony and they're close to the service
- 4:44found her introduce himself term and
- 4:47begin to take possession of her but I
- 4:49can say that with all due respect for my
- 4:51womenfolk he begin to act like he was
- 4:53already married which made her feel a
- 4:54little uncomfortable but in a short
- 4:56amount of time they discovered that they
- 4:58were meant for each other they've got to
- 4:59bless them and they love each other and
- 5:01they got married so now we have a great
- 5:04team
- 5:05mr. and mrs. wiglesworth work together
- 5:07now there was another problem the
- 5:09problem was Smith Wigglesworth was a
- 5:11stutterer he couldn't talk and speak
- 5:14clearly that's why he would work with
- 5:17the children and do what he did in the
- 5:18children's ministry and work on the
- 5:20altar because then he would not be on
- 5:22the platform with the challenge of he
- 5:24and I'm able to speak a declarative
- 5:26sentence incorrectly without having a
- 5:28challenge but his wife Pauline was a
- 5:31rowdy and feisty preacher and so if you
- 5:34know that some Haitian Army in those
- 5:35days that was the personality of
- 5:37everybody really and so she was the one
- 5:39that got on the stage and would preach
- 5:41and go down the streets and preach and
- 5:43do things and she kept pushing Smith to
- 5:45preach so he would he wanted to but he
- 5:48had this speech impediment and so they
- 5:50got into lots of arguments over this
- 5:52problem he kept saying you free to leave
- 5:53me alone because he was embarrassed and
- 5:55so I'd like any married couple I guess
- 5:58is one of their challenges so after a
- 6:00period of time of these arguments and
- 6:02their little fusses going on finally
- 6:05they decided that she could preach and
- 6:07he would keep doing what he was doing
- 6:09and there came peace on that issue so
- 6:11let me recap this for a moment
- 6:13Smith Wigglesworth could say this little
- 6:14boy he's confirmed by the bishop he
- 6:17feels the presence of God for the very
- 6:18first time in his life and then he gets
- 6:21above the Salvation Army I think it's
- 6:23about 16 years old when he got involved
- 6:24in he saw his wife get saved they get
- 6:28married and they begin to work for the
- 6:30Lord in the Salvation Army and he did
- 6:32not preach because he was a stutterer
- 6:33but something great was about to happen
- 6:36the great event I was about to take
- 6:39place in Smith Wigglesworth life was the
- 6:41baptism the Holy Spirit in nineteen oh
- 6:43four five and six the greater this
- 6:45revival by taking place in Los Angeles
- 6:47it is the birthplace of the modern
- 6:49Pentecostal movement today
- 6:52largest Protestant group of critters in
- 6:54the world our koneko stools so in less
- 6:56than a hundred and fifty years the
- 6:58Pentecostal people that believe me
- 6:59speaking in tongues divine healing
- 7:01deliverance and the you near God's voice
- 7:03herself today is the largest Ponzi group
- 7:06of Christians in the world this was a
- 7:08new thing that was threatened around the
- 7:10world at this time we're gonna had
- 7:11embraced the divine healing message but
- 7:13he'd not embraced the method of the holy
- 7:15spirit and so he had been praying for
- 7:17the sick but the most dramatic change
- 7:19came when he received the Holy Spirit
- 7:21there was an English vicar named
- 7:23Alexander body in Sutherland who had
- 7:25received the Holy Ghost and was
- 7:27preaching the Holy Spirit with the
- 7:28baptism of fire
- 7:29and speaking of tongues when we would
- 7:32have heard about it he thought well I
- 7:33need to go see if this is true he had
- 7:35been warned by people that they were
- 7:37full of a devil don't go be careful stay
- 7:40away which is why everything is done
- 7:42plumbing Christianity when something new
- 7:44is being brought into the earth or
- 7:46highlighted by God's Spirit there's
- 7:47always the critics so Wigglesworth being
- 7:49a bold kind of person that he was wants
- 7:52to go see for himself he leaves his wife
- 7:54at home because she's a little more
- 7:55cautious and a little more stay away and
- 7:57she's involved in some nations army now
- 7:59the healing side had coming into play in
- 8:01their ministry he goes down there and
- 8:03realizes that these people have
- 8:06something that he needs and he
- 8:08interrupts the meeting while the
- 8:09preachers preaching to ask questions so
- 8:11that also you shouldn't loose
- 8:13personality he was not scared when he
- 8:14was hungry he went after it and he got
- 8:17his answer he left that meeting baptized
- 8:19in the Holy Spirit now when he came home
- 8:21this is what made his wife know there
- 8:24was something different I mean what I
- 8:25told you in the first section was that
- 8:27there was a collision between them over
- 8:29preaching publicly and him not preaching
- 8:31publicly well when he got baptized in
- 8:33the Holy Ghost he came back home to
- 8:35Bradford and told his wife politic he
- 8:37wants to preach on Sunday well that
- 8:39surprised her but she says well if you
- 8:41won't you go right ahead she said on the
- 8:43back row this meeting did not quite know
- 8:46what to think about all of this and all
- 8:48through the meetings she kept saying
- 8:49yourself that's not the Smith I know
- 8:51that's I knew Smith he had received the
- 8:54Holy Spirit begin to speak with tongues
- 8:56and his life changed and his stuttering
- 8:59disappeared this begin Smith
- 9:02Wigglesworth ministry in the pulpit
- 9:05for this time they did very little he
- 9:06meant he was in the children's ministry
- 9:08and soul-winning and one on one prayer
- 9:10for the sick
- 9:11when I received the Holy Spirit God
- 9:13healed him from his stuttering and
- 9:14released his tongue and he begin to
- 9:16preach in the pulpit Paulie jumped up at
- 9:19the end of the meeting ran to the front
- 9:21and said to her husband
- 9:22I want what you've got and another man
- 9:24walked up and said I want what you got
- 9:25they notice a change this was the
- 9:28beginning of the ministry of Smith
- 9:30Wigglesworth as you and I know in the
- 9:32stories that we've heard now as this
- 9:34begin to grow in his life and in Polly's
- 9:36life he began to get people spirit
- 9:38filled and pray for the sick you'll
- 9:40notice I'm sitting in front of an old
- 9:421880s wheelchair and some crutches here
- 9:45beside me and this is the way people
- 9:47would come to Smith Wigglesworth
- 9:49meetings they come in chairs like this
- 9:50with their crutches or their canes and
- 9:53asking for healing and asking for him to
- 9:56help them discover how God can heal them
- 9:58today because there was no medical help
- 9:59for them and he was so abrupt in the way
- 10:02he would do things that his stories of
- 10:04the abruptness lived today over 50 years
- 10:07of he's dead for example he would pray
- 10:10for you and he'd ask you what's up and
- 10:13that was how you want to know what was
- 10:14wrong with you and sometimes he would
- 10:16lay his hands on you very nicely and
- 10:18politely and pray a prayer or he would
- 10:21just say do this and scream real strong
- 10:24I almost started you in the whole crowd
- 10:25and you didn't do it he would go over
- 10:27and make you do it and so he was like a
- 10:30like a bull in a china closet as they
- 10:32would say so he was not your nice little
- 10:35British person that triggered this we
- 10:37had a cup of tea or even the way the
- 10:39American evangelist do it today he was a
- 10:42bullet of China cause it was tearing
- 10:44things up from the tradition but the
- 10:46thing that worked it worked when he did
- 10:49this they got healed he would punch
- 10:51people he would slap borders and gross
- 10:54up people's necks and he would tell
- 10:56people to stand up on that wheelchair
- 10:57like one lady in Arizona when he was
- 10:59here preached in the States
- 11:00he said stand up she goes I can't he
- 11:02said shut up you stand up and he kept
- 11:05arguing with her and she went down there
- 11:06and pulled her out and said don't talk
- 11:08back to me and she got healed so you
- 11:10know wiglesworth
- 11:12I don't know if some they would like him
- 11:15today
- 11:16times people think wow that's great but
- 11:18what if you were the person that
- 11:19wheelchair what have you were the person
- 11:21they've been doing that so put yourself
- 11:22in their shoes now for me personally I
- 11:24like it I like all those fun things but
- 11:27the thing I'll say again it worked no
- 11:29Smith Wigglesworth didn't have this
- 11:31because he had a special gift Smith
- 11:34Wigglesworth live a life that created
- 11:36the kind of faith and the kind of
- 11:38relationship that created these kind of
- 11:40results I do not believe or do I want to
- 11:43propagate what I would call the
- 11:45Christian life may God has favorite
- 11:47people and he gave things to something
- 11:49he doesn't give to others when God gave
- 11:52salvation God gave the Holy Spirit
- 11:54baptism God gave a ride the measure of
- 11:56faith he was all the same it's what you
- 11:59do with what God gave you that makes the
- 12:01difference not how you receive the
- 12:03blessings of God the gifts of God's and
- 12:05the calling of God Smith Wigglesworth
- 12:08said that he never went more than 15
- 12:10minutes without reading the Bible or
- 12:12praying now I tried that a few times and
- 12:15that's difficult to do to go every 15
- 12:18minutes you got to stop and remember
- 12:20some scriptures and confess them or you
- 12:22prayed a prayer I would say it's a good
- 12:24challenge for all of us to do but when
- 12:26you build your faith and your
- 12:27relationship like that
- 12:29you can scream it a woman a little chair
- 12:30and she'll get healed you can go to
- 12:32someone that's gonna quarter or a nut
- 12:34and slap it and falls off on the floor
- 12:36that's what we want to see again and you
- 12:39ask the question why don't we see it
- 12:41like that today
- 12:41I think it's a simple simple answer we
- 12:45don't pay the spiritual price or do the
- 12:47spiritual things that create the
- 12:49relationship the tangel anointing and
- 12:51the faith that creates these kind of
- 12:53miracles in the world today so hopefully
- 12:55with this broadcast I can challenge you
- 12:57to start doing something new and not
- 12:59just say the same ol thing well that was
- 13:00back then Mac name can be today because
- 13:02God is always the same we're the ones
- 13:05that have to change and get better not
- 13:06God he's still already he's too willing
- 13:09he still wants to he's working for
- 13:11someone to work through amazing you can
- 13:13be that next great general like
- 13:14wiglesworth I'm about to show you a clip
- 13:16of dr. Lester Sumrall he was my
- 13:18spiritual father and I spent many years
- 13:20with him and had many enjoyable times
- 13:22that the times I enjoyed the most when I
- 13:26were talking about all the prickers he
- 13:27knew as a young man and he
- 13:29Smith Wigglesworth personally as your
- 13:31men who went with so many times to visit
- 13:33him when he lived in England as a
- 13:34missionary he told me one time he was
- 13:36with Smith Wigglesworth in Scotland at a
- 13:39big Pentecostal camp meeting and they
- 13:41used to have what they call picnic on
- 13:42the ground or church lunch on the ground
- 13:44and after Sunday morning service they
- 13:46put all the food out and everybody's
- 13:47gonna eat there and they asked their
- 13:49guest evangelist wiglesworth to pray for
- 13:51the food
- 13:52and so because were stood up and said
- 13:54Lord you can bless what you've cursed
- 13:57then bless this thinking Pig because
- 13:59they've been roasted a big roasted pig
- 14:01for our lunch that day and he was
- 14:03somewhere else said that he just laughed
- 14:05and laughed he cannot believe that
- 14:06wigglesworth's in front of all those
- 14:08people and I prayed a prayer like that
- 14:10over the church lunch food and so we've
- 14:13got this little brother son wrote on his
- 14:15visit with Smith that right there in the
- 14:18same church where I was preaching the
- 14:19great glad tidings Tabernacle that at
- 14:21that time seated more than three
- 14:23thousand people says he was here
- 14:26speaking and on a Sunday afternoon he
- 14:28had a healing service and and that that
- 14:32they brought the people from hospitals
- 14:34and wheelchairs and all kinds of
- 14:36situations for Smith Wigglesworth to
- 14:39pray for them and from one of the local
- 14:41hospitals the doctor brought a very
- 14:43severe cancer case that they didn't want
- 14:46to bring him because he was so near
- 14:48death the doctor accompanied him and set
- 14:51by his little little portable hospital
- 14:54bed on the platform and your King Smith
- 14:57Wigglesworth who was just a little bit
- 14:59gruff down the line praying for the
- 15:01people and the way he would ask you what
- 15:03was wrong with you he'd say who took now
- 15:06in his part of England that was a
- 15:10similar way to their speaking
- 15:11what's up mean what ails you what what
- 15:15is wrong with you and so he got to this
- 15:17patient that was laying out on a bed
- 15:19there and and had on one of the little
- 15:21hospital gowns you know that has no
- 15:25buttons and buttons up in the back there
- 15:27was a doctor sitting there where there's
- 15:30a stuffed coops in his ears and
- 15:32listening to the man's heart beating and
- 15:33and and letting everybody know that he
- 15:36was the man was very near death and so
- 15:39when Smith was here and said what's up
- 15:41the doctor replied and said he is dying
- 15:44of cancer
- 15:44wiglesworth said where is it and they
- 15:47the doctor said in his stomach and and
- 15:50Smith Wigglesworth the pus were the most
- 15:52unusual person I've ever met in my life
- 15:55he wound up his hand and hit him for the
- 15:59cancer was in the stomach punched him so
- 16:02hard until the man died just like just
- 16:05his hands fell off the bed and the
- 16:08doctor screamed he's dead he's dead
- 16:11and he looked up and said you killed him
- 16:13you killed him
- 16:14the family will sue you you killed him
- 16:17mr. bigglesworth wasn't upset one bit he
- 16:20said he's illed
- 16:22and that's the way he would say you were
- 16:25healed he says he's healed he didn't you
- 16:28know he didn't pronounce HS he said he's
- 16:31healed and he didn't stop you know he
- 16:34just went on down the line pray about 10
- 16:37minutes later down the line here came
- 16:40the man walking he'd gotten up off that
- 16:43bed he had moved the doctor to one side
- 16:45and he was walking and that's that funny
- 16:48little hospital dress you know that
- 16:50comes along here like this and is open
- 16:52in the back and and here he was falling
- 16:54Smith Wigglesworth with his hands and
- 16:56his up in the air praising God he said I
- 17:00have no pain I feel wonderful inside I
- 17:03have energy that I had not had for I
- 17:06don't know how long and he was following
- 17:08him and as Smith Wigglesworth is so
- 17:11unusual he didn't turn around and say
- 17:13well thank God all praise God everybody
- 17:14looked at it to him it was such a usual
- 17:17thing he said well just thank God for it
- 17:19and he just went on praying for people
- 17:21hope you enjoy brother summer old
- 17:22talking about his experience with Smith
- 17:24Wigglesworth Smith Wigglesworth its wife
- 17:26died before he did many years before he
- 17:29did and then his life took off
- 17:31internationally and I think this is a
- 17:33great point to make about the life of
- 17:35wiglesworth is that when his wife went
- 17:38to be with the Lord he decided to get
- 17:41out of his house and out of his home and
- 17:43out of his city and go to the world when
- 17:46something happens in your life that is a
- 17:48setback or painful like the loss of a
- 17:51loved one you have to decide to go
- 17:53forward or sit there and grieve and
- 17:55reven grieve smith wigglesworth grieve
- 17:57for a moment he got up and said let's go
- 18:00forward and he begin to become the
- 18:01travelling wiglesworth he is known to go
- 18:04to South Africa
- 18:05he brought Pentecostal measures to New
- 18:06Zealand and Australia he came to America
- 18:08many times and so he got up and made the
- 18:12pain become a positive step so I'd like
- 18:15to make that application with you if
- 18:17you're going to do something that's
- 18:18challenging you're going through the
- 18:19loss of a loved one or a spouse grieve
- 18:22for that moment that's appropriate and
- 18:24right then get up and go do something
- 18:26bigger louder and larger and better make
- 18:29the devil pay for it and make your life
- 18:31clown unless my grandmother always said
- 18:33don't die until you're dead and so do
- 18:36something for God man and do it loud and
- 18:38do it bold in all the years that I have
- 18:41been researching and collecting things
- 18:43about Smith Wigglesworth there's one
- 18:45thing that I found that was very rare
- 18:47and I'm gonna show to the end of the
- 18:48show the only film sorted to Smith
- 18:50Wigglesworth that exists in the world I
- 18:52found I found it from a little lady that
- 18:54worked in a me some of a person's church
- 18:57she ran the bookstore and I saw a
- 19:00picture of a young girl with her father
- 19:02with a camera a moving camera and me and
- 19:05one of my friends begin to hunt down
- 19:07this woman and finally I found her she
- 19:09was in Los Angeles could not believe
- 19:11she's in Los Angeles and so I called up
- 19:13there and I went up there to see her and
- 19:15I asked you have any footage of
- 19:17wiglesworth she goes yes and I go can I
- 19:19have a copy of it she don't know it's
- 19:21for the family I said but he's part of
- 19:23the family who God we all like to see it
- 19:24so I had to wait for her to die for me
- 19:27to get the footage so I called every 6
- 19:29months she's still there she's still
- 19:31alive but in one day the answer was
- 19:33she'd gone to heaven
- 19:34and I called her family and I got the
- 19:36footage and I'm gonna show you that
- 19:38footage of the end of the program they
- 19:40took him in his house at 70 Victor Road
- 19:42in Bradford England you don't want to
- 19:43miss it now the other thing that I
- 19:45enjoyed doing about wiglesworth is
- 19:47finding all of his unpublished sermons I
- 19:50print a big thick book about 850 pages
- 19:52of them but here are some of the quotes
- 19:54I wrote them down so you don't hope you
- 19:55don't mind me reading them to get a feel
- 19:57of some of these statements
- 19:58wiglesworth would say like I said in the
- 20:00beginning of the show I'm a thousand
- 20:02times bigger on the inside than on the
- 20:04outside your spiritual capacity should
- 20:07always be bigger than
- 20:08your intellectual and physical capacity
- 20:10and you do that by praying and we're
- 20:13doing the word and and exercising your
- 20:15spirit to keep it strong all the time
- 20:17he also said fear looks at things faith
- 20:20jumps and takes them I like that
- 20:22statement he also said some people like
- 20:24to read the Bible in Hebrew some like
- 20:26that study it in Greek because I like to
- 20:28read it in the Holy Ghost which to me is
- 20:30a prime Wigglesworth quote that's how
- 20:33was worse odd he also said some live by
- 20:36what they see and what they hear but I
- 20:38don't live by what I see
- 20:39I don't live by what I hear but I live
- 20:41by what I believe that comes from the
- 20:43Word of God that's why we look worth was
- 20:45the way is and we can be the same way
- 20:48we'll base our life base our emotional
- 20:50feeling base our planning on what
- 20:52Shepherd verse says and not much here on
- 20:54the news from a friend or an unbelieving
- 20:57soul that's in the church so base what
- 20:59you believe on chapter and verse and
- 21:01stand on it because God will always keep
- 21:02his promises now we sometimes don't know
- 21:06about the critics of looks worth and yes
- 21:08he had critics anybody that obeys God
- 21:11and does something outside of the normal
- 21:13traditional boredom that they do all of
- 21:15the world that becomes acceptable
- 21:17Christianity he's going to have critics
- 21:19if you obey God and you step out of the
- 21:22borders of normal boring Christianity
- 21:24somebody probably close to you is gonna
- 21:27react and they beget upset at
- 21:29wiglesworth for you know abruptly
- 21:32punching somebody or shaking them and
- 21:34and they ask him one time we goes why
- 21:36are you so aggressive in the prayer
- 21:38lines he goes well I'm not aggressive he
- 21:41goes they go well you shake people you
- 21:44move their arms you yell at them and
- 21:45even hit some of them he goes I don't
- 21:47hit them I hit the devil they just get
- 21:49in the way and he kept on going so
- 21:51that's a bit of those worst humor Smith
- 21:54Wigglesworth I had critics as I said and
- 21:57he used to preach at him and say put
- 21:59down your umbrellas of pregnancy and
- 22:00enjoy the letter rain and I think maybe
- 22:03some of you watching me should do the
- 22:04same thing I think some of you preachers
- 22:06and some of the you that have been in
- 22:08church for a long time that have seen
- 22:09the good bad and the ugly of
- 22:11Christianity today I put up your
- 22:13umbrellas of prejudiced and doubt and
- 22:14disbelief and go no I don't want to
- 22:17Jesus till the same his words chill
- 22:19works but you're not letting the word
- 22:21the rain of the spirit get in your life
- 22:23too wet shoe and to call it the word to
- 22:25grow so I'll say what widows were said
- 22:27to his critics I'll say to you put down
- 22:29your umbrellas and enjoy the letter rain
- 22:32he also said wildfire is better than no
- 22:35fire you know sometimes when the move of
- 22:37God gets to going people make mistakes
- 22:39I've cited revival since I was twelve
- 22:41and a half years old and there's one
- 22:43thing for sure they'll be good things
- 22:44they'll be some bad things and there'll
- 22:47be some things you can call ugly things
- 22:48you know what they were but you solve it
- 22:50and so that happened that every move of
- 22:52God and so wildfire is better than no
- 22:54fire I'm gonna have people that are a
- 22:56little bit out of the ordinary a little
- 22:58bit emotionally hyper and then some
- 23:00people sit there and quiet and criticize
- 23:01and do nothing
- 23:02so you know a living person has sound a
- 23:05living person has movement and when
- 23:07nothing's alive there's no sound there's
- 23:10no movement and there's no need for
- 23:11money no need for food no need for air
- 23:13so you know if you're alive or not Mike
- 23:16your hunger by your desire and by
- 23:18movement when you walk into a church and
- 23:19there's no sound
- 23:20there's no hunger there's no liveliness
- 23:23there then leave that dead dumb thing
- 23:25and go someplace else where there is
- 23:26some liveliness I don't know why people
- 23:28when you were a sinner you went to the
- 23:30wildest disco the wildest club that was
- 23:33packed out so loud the music was that
- 23:35you need to scream to the person in
- 23:36front of you and you call it fun you say
- 23:38that at 2 or 3 o'clock at night but when
- 23:40you got saved
- 23:41you chose the quietness the most boring
- 23:44thing and counting call it church that's
- 23:45where you go forget that go to the
- 23:47church has got lively music strong
- 23:49preaching got a mission going somewhere
- 23:51that's where God is I've learned in my
- 23:53life that most of the places that are
- 23:55being criticized by religious people
- 23:57that's because God has gone there and
- 23:59God is doing something and creating the
- 24:01dead people's criticism because life is
- 24:03there Wigglesworth created like wherever
- 24:05he went he made this statement to if the
- 24:07Spirit of God is not moving then I move
- 24:10him when I first read that I thought
- 24:12what does he mean by that
- 24:13it almost sounds arrogant in a way if
- 24:16the Spirit of God is not moving then I'm
- 24:18leaving
- 24:18well when you actually investigate what
- 24:21do you want on to say what he meant was
- 24:23if the Spirit of God is not moving I
- 24:25know what makes this great God knew just
- 24:27where God lives by faith so I'll walk
- 24:29out there on the water or I'll release
- 24:31my faith and the sweeter gotta move to
- 24:33answer my faith based on the chapter in
- 24:34verse
- 24:35and so that's what he meant if
- 24:36something's not happening because we're
- 24:38not believing we're not standing out
- 24:40beyond our intellect or our comfort zone
- 24:42he said so if it's not moving I'm gonna
- 24:44step out there where God has to come so
- 24:47I want to make sure that we live in a
- 24:48day which signs wonders and miracles are
- 24:50happening in your life to you and
- 24:52through you and in your church the world
- 24:55needs a day new churches that men like
- 24:57wiglesworth helped found years ago they
- 24:59brought over the birth is still the god
- 25:00of the day and we need to have that kind
- 25:03of boldness that kind of ruthlessness
- 25:04toward the devil and love for people
