0:02excited about what we are planning for
0:04you this week I'm going to be airing all
0:07this week that God's journals videos
0:09that we've sold millions of millions of
0:11around the world the reason why I'm
0:13doing that because when there's a crisis
0:15in a nation people run to God
0:17this virus pandemic may be the beginning
0:20of a great happening
0:21it's a sad what's going on but out of it
0:23there may come a thirst and hunger and a
0:26movement toward God I want you to be
0:27ready to be the revivalist and the bold
0:30Christian to take care of what may be
0:31coming to us so I'm going to be telling
0:34you the stories of great men women of
0:36God those that have done well and those
0:38are made mistakes will look at above

1:25hello my name is Robert slurred I'm
1:27sitting outside of a tent that
1:30represents a 1950s event in America that
1:33went for over 15 years it was a time
1:35when God chose over a hundred and fifty
1:37different evangelists that we call the
1:39healing evangelists that went around
1:41America in these canvass cathedrals as
1:43they called them preaching salvation and
1:45praying for the sick and getting results
1:48people eyes were open their deaf ears
1:50open their legs are made strong great
1:53miracles and these were men like Jack
1:55Coe a Alan or Roberts William Brennan
1:57these are just a few names that God
1:59chose to lead what we call the 1950s
2:02healing revival this movement caused a
2:05change in how we believe today the
2:06healing as we know it today is still a
2:08part of all parts of Christianity many
2:10because these men and women pioneered it
2:13and said they're not gonna back off us
2:14and they believed that was true and
2:16there was results in it when I was a
2:18little boy about 12 and a half years old
2:20I was watching my favorite TV show at
2:22that time called of Vernon shirley she
2:24just walked through the front door of
2:25our home and I was sitting on the couch
2:27and he walked toward me and he walked
2:29toward me the whole room seemed to move
2:31back about five six hundred yards and I
2:33could hear the TV in the distance and
2:35she just said to me Stern the lives of
2:37my generals know why they succeded know
2:39why they failed for there will come a
2:41generation he'll need to know the things
2:42that I will teach you if you'll be
2:44faithful to do what I ask you to do this
2:46day and he said a few other things to me
2:48about restoring gifts and unwrapping
2:50gifts and helping give us come back to
2:52their full potential was a part of my
2:53calling my destiny that he wanted me to
2:55do in my life and so when the vision
2:58ended I went back to watching TV people
3:01have said to me over the years well why
3:02didn't you get up and pray why don't you
3:04get up and read your Bible I was twelve
3:05and a half years old when you're twelve
3:07and a half you go back to watching TV
3:08and so later that afternoon or I should
3:10say early in the evening
3:12my grandmother handed me a book about
3:14the life story of Smith Wigglesworth our
3:16great British Heenan evangelist at first
3:19I thought who wants to read about
3:20preachers because in my life at that
3:22time most of the ones I'd experienced
3:24were overweight their hair was goofy or
3:27they had no hair and most of them looked
3:29like a bunch of boring people
3:30and I thought who wants to read the
3:32story of these preachers in their lives
3:35going from church to church singing the
3:37same songs preaching the same sir
3:38eating the same fried chicken and so I
3:41didn't really want to get involved with
3:42it but when my grandmother hand to me
3:44Smith Wigglesworth life story I begin to
3:46read it and that changed my whole life
3:49when I begin to read about the British
3:51evangelist named wiglesworth who raised
3:54a man from the day that was named
3:56Lazarus all names now that got my
3:58attention as a little boy that's more
3:59exciting than a football player than a
4:01than a movie star than a famous singer
4:03or a president a British guy that was a
4:05plumber raised a guy from the dead and
4:08the first time he didn't come back the
4:09second time he didn't come back and the
4:10third time he pushed him against the
4:12wall let him go he fell onto the floor
4:14still dead and all of a sudden he opened
4:16his eyes and stood up and was back from
4:18the dead so that begin a journey in my
4:21life I begin to read all the books I
4:23could find about revival movements and
4:25revival leaders men and women from
4:26Pentecostal to evangelical be even back
4:29into the early church fathers and say
4:30why did God choose these people why did
4:33God move on them this way what do they
4:35have to overcome during this TV show
4:37we're going to be going through the
4:38lines of different men and women will
4:40have rare footage rare pictures will
4:43have voice recordings we'll have a few
4:45people that will interview they will
4:46actually have worked with these
4:47different individuals like sister
4:49McPherson Kathryn Kuhlman Branham Allan
4:51Coe or Roberts different ones we'll look
4:53at I wrote my first book and I didn't
4:55think folks had to get that excited
4:56about it so I thought you know why would
4:58folks want to know about church history
5:00but church history is a very unique
5:02scene the only real a book in the New
5:04Testament is not have a proper end is
5:06the book of Acts the book of Acts just
5:08stops where it says Paul rented a place
5:11for two years and received those who
5:13came to him and taught them about the
5:14gospel of Jesus Christ and the book just
5:17stops
5:17well that means to me that we're still
5:19writing the book of Acts today and we
5:21call that church history the reason why
5:24most of you don't like churches because
5:25people that teach it don't know how to
5:27teach it number two they don't have an
5:29anointed teacher at number three all
5:30they think is its facts and figures and
5:33dates and rises and falls and
5:35theological controversies well that's
5:37not church history that's not what moves
5:39a heart that's why births a new gift
5:41that's inside of you
5:42what births a new gives that when you
5:44realize that ordinary people that God
5:46chose out of the vastness of the premium
5:48population he chose this one and gave
5:51him this gifts and
5:52that anointing to go into the earth on
5:55time another thing that is a mistake
5:57that we sometimes think these people
5:58were born out of season every gift every
6:01nineteen is born on time in season and
6:04they're never late the Earth may be late
6:06the church might behind but God's
6:08calling and God gives us always on time
6:11so I want you to make a determination to
6:13be with me every weeks so as we go
6:15through the lives of these men and women
6:16to learn what they did right what they
6:18did wrong and how they overcame and
6:20fulfilled their destinies which you've

7:23there was a knock at the door of a man's
7:26home in Australia it was a child from
7:28down the street had come to get pastor
7:30John Alexander Dowie to come and pray
7:32for a little child that was dying he had
7:34just received a revelation from acts
7:3610:38 how God healed those that were
7:38sick he ran down the street prayed his
7:41first healing prayer and the child was
7:43healed and did not die nor did any of
7:45the members of his church died during
7:47the Great Australian plague of that year
7:49in this first series we're gonna look at
7:51the life of John Alexander Dowie the
7:52great australian healer who came to
7:55America and came to Chicago built a
7:57great Church of over 3,000 men she 10000
8:00then built a city but died thinking he
8:02was Elijah when I moved to Chicago he
8:05heard from God they was supposed to stay
8:06there he became the spiritual mayor of
8:08Chicago Deon Moody was across town dad
8:11was on the other side he had the two
8:13great evangelists of the day in the city
8:15of Chicago which was the great booming
8:16city of that time you could not become
8:19the political mayor of the city unless
8:20now he had approved you and told his
8:23church members to promote your campaign
8:24and to make sure you want office at the
8:27end of his time in Chicago he did a
8:29series saying
8:30demons doctrines and drugs throw them
8:32all out and he made a distraction and
8:35made him all nervous in Chicago while he
8:37went during the daytime about 40 miles
8:39north of Chicago to buy up 6600 acres to
8:42build a city called design Illinois
8:44where he created a utopia that to this
8:47day in American history was the longest
8:48running successful utopia in American
8:51history dr. Dow II though died thinking
8:53he was Elijah we're going to look at his
8:56life and find out why you made it why
8:58didn't make it and what we can learn
8:59from it we're also looking at a woman
9:01named Maria would birth etter
9:02we called the grandma of the Pentecostal
9:05movement she was the Holiness preacher
9:06who decided that speaking in tongues and
9:08divine healing and the gifts of the
9:10Spirit were for today so she stepped out
9:12of the Holderness anti fittings toward
9:15the young Pentecostals and said I
9:16believe in them and join them her
9:18ministry would grow to have over 25,000
9:21people in a tent meeting tonight she was
9:23back in the old timey 10 days where he
9:26got the old trucks and the old open cars
9:28and this woman traveled around America
9:31with her tent preaching and praying for
9:32the sick and she was accused of having
9:34trance event
9:35ilysm what would happen when she would
9:37start preaching folks at fall into
9:39trances and see heaven see hell see
9:41Jesus see an angel see a demon and
9:42they'd come back and tell what they'd
9:44saw when they're out on the spirit we're
9:46also gonna look at a young man from the
9:48United Kingdom named Evan Roberts a
9:49Welch revivalist one of the greatest
9:51stories of revivals in modern times but
9:54also on the saddest he was 26 years old
9:56when God chose him to lead the great
9:58revival but yet he only preached about
10:00three years of his life he died in 1951
10:03he was taken out of Wales after he
10:06collapsed one night in a revival meeting
10:08by a woman named Jessie pin Lewis he
10:10never returned to Wales and after she
10:12died Jezebel came and destroyed that
10:14young man's life and ministry we're
10:16gonna do an in-depth study on why he
10:18made it and why he failed and then we're
10:20gonna look at the next great happening
10:22in world history called the Azusa Street
10:24revival a man named Charles Parham and
10:26William J Seymour a little black man
10:29then the time of the Jim Crow laws in
10:31America God chose to be the first pastor
10:33of a modern Pentecostal movement the
10:35most famous address in Pentecostal
10:37history is 316 Azusa Street we're gonna
10:40look at it and find out why God chose
10:42him to do it why God chose him to be
10:44that certain person because God makes
10:46statements in the heavens and the earth
10:47he makes statements to the church and
10:49the society and when he chose Parham and
10:52he chose seymour he was making great
10:54statements that we can learn from today
10:55nobody is escaped from God's voice or
10:58God's plans which you've heard on

12:04was born at a time in his family when
12:06all he knew as a child was doctors and
12:09hospitals and hearse and caskets and
12:11graveyards because so many of his family
12:14members died when he got married his
12:16wife was gonna die
12:17and he sent a telegram did John
12:19Alexander Dowie said if you can pray and
12:21help us please praying and Dowie prayed
12:24and his wife was healed and because
12:26people around the town knew that John G
12:28league's wife had been healed they begin
12:29to come to his house and asked Lake to
12:31pray for them and he didn't know what to
12:33do so he moved his whole family to Zion
12:35Illinois and learned how to pray for the
12:37sick and get miracles under the Ministry
12:40of dowing he would later go to South
12:42Africa and built one of the first
12:43Pentecostal denominations it's called
12:45the Apostolic fate that is still going
12:46today while he was there they would take
12:48the germ of the dead that had died of a
12:50plague going through him put it on his
12:52hand and watch the German die because
12:54the lake said the law of life in Christ
12:56Jesus sets me free from the law of sin
12:58and death John G Lake had a hundred
13:00thousand documented miracles in Spokane
13:03Washington in five years to where the
13:06United States government declared spoke
13:07in the healthiest city in America at
13:09that time

14:16always been a part of the moves of God
14:19and the earth from the 1600s the 700s
14:22the 89s bill when they hit the 1900s and
14:24the pentecostal that came to the British

14:33famous Pentecostal personality and from

14:42his embarrassment kept him out of the
14:44public flow for many many years
14:46he began his life with Christ working
14:48with the Salvation Army in those days
14:50the Salvation Army was the revival
14:52movement of the time if you want to be
14:54where God was moving where God was
14:55speaking for things were happening
14:57you joined the Salvation Army and Smith
14:59Wigglesworth that did that that's where
15:01he met his wife Polly and one of the
15:02Salvation meetings that he was attending
15:03and the Lord spoke to him that's your
15:05wife so he goes down to meet her and
15:07takes possession of her in one way and
15:09she was kind of taken back by his
15:11abruptness but long story short they got
15:14married had a great great life together
15:15after her death wiglesworth decided not
15:18to stay home and sit in the chair and be
15:20set he decided to go to the world
15:22so the Wigglesworth of ministry that you
15:24and I know about began mainly after his
15:27wife's passing so one thing we can learn
15:29right up front about wiglesworth no
15:31matter what kind of tragedy comes to you
15:33God can make something good come out of
15:35it so he got up out of his rocking chair
15:37and got up out of his little house in
15:38Bradford and went to the world he came
15:40to America he went through Europe
15:42Scandinavia he went to South Africa went
15:44to Australia New Zealand he did those
15:46trips many times and so those were spin
15:49his life praying with the sick and
15:50believing God for the loss to get saved
15:52his manner of a praying with the sick
15:54was not your typical way that we do it
15:56today we're people a hands-on you nicely
15:58and you fall down politely and somebody
16:00catches you wiglesworth was more of
16:02abruptness
16:03he sometimes would shake people he
16:05sometime was kind of a hit him with his
16:07fists and and he said one time I pray
16:09for you once and that's all you need the
16:11second time well that's unbelief and he
16:13push you out of the prayer on it I don't
16:15know
16:15belief in my prayer line and then he
16:17sometimes address his critics would ask
16:19him why do you hit people he would say I
16:21don't hit people I hit the devil they
16:23just get in the way we're gonna get
16:24widows worse
16:25here's salvation experience his bed was
16:27the Holy Spirit and learning how to heal
16:29the sick and it's worldwide ministry
16:30he's more famous today than he was when
16:33he was alive and his stories of as an
16:35Orthodox manner of praying for the sick
16:37is still legendary in our Christian
16:39circles today we're also gonna look at a
16:42woman named Amy Civil McPherson no one
16:44else has been like her since the day
16:46that she was born the day that she went
16:47to heaven I call her the first lady of
16:50Pentecost or the first star of the
16:52Pentecostal movement she was bigger than
16:55life and her life story has so many ups
16:58and downs and I guess you could say when
17:00you talk about her you're gonna learn
17:01about the good things that she did and
17:03the good things that God did through her
17:04about the humanity and the problems that
17:06she had with her own life and her family
17:08and her marriages but God stayed with
17:11her and got a nun in her to build some
17:13of the most phenomenal churches in the
17:14world and built a denomination called
17:16the Foursquare denomination that are
17:18still active today here are some first
17:20that Amy did she was the first woman to
17:22drive across America in a car by herself
17:24she was the first Church in America to
17:27own a Christian radio station her church
17:29called Angeles temple in Los Angeles
17:31had 10% or a tithe of the LA population
17:34at that time of over 25,000 members in
17:37her church Hollywood would come to her
17:39church on Sunday night to see what she
17:40would do learn Illustrated sermons so
17:42they could take back her techniques into
17:44the movies Scizor McPherson was married
17:47three times she was kidnapped and her
17:49death even had controversy about it
17:51but the life that she live still
17:53declares that God does miracles God
17:55saves and in spite of our weaknesses God
17:58can do things

19:06was a young man out on the woods one
19:08afternoon
19:08his name was William Brennan an angel
19:11was sent from God's throne to tell him
19:12that he had been given two great gifts
19:15the first gift was to know the secrets
19:17of men's hearts the second gift was to
19:20be able to do signs and wonders to
19:22confirm to what he said by the
19:23supernatural gift of knowing their
19:25secrets would be confirmed by Simon a
19:27wonder that it was true this young man
19:30named William Branham was not raised in
19:32a full gospel Pentecostal experience he
19:34was raised as a Baptist got involved
19:36with Jesus only and then finally made it
19:38into the mainstream Pentecostal movement
19:40but when the Pentecost was finally
19:42discovered what this guy had they all
19:44went into amazement he was able to walk
19:46up and down people their address their
19:48phone number where they lived what was
19:50wrong with him what the doctor said and
19:51then say now you're healed and they were
19:53so we're gonna have film clips of
19:56William Branham and we're gonna learn
19:57about the great prophet that was on the
19:59scene in 1947 that died tragically and
20:02also died believing wrong doctrines and
20:05prophesy wrong things your gift is not
20:07guarantee you that you have the right
20:09doctrines your study and your
20:11determination to stay accurate with
20:13Scripture as you flow and the great
20:15gifts God gives you is something that
20:16you must do so many people in life
20:18saying well my gifts will take care of
20:20me no your gift won't your knowledge of
20:22the word will take care of you your gift
20:24will take care of the souls and the
20:26people who need to be born again so as
20:28we look at the life of Brenham we'll see
20:30a rise of an uneducated man born not far
20:33from Abraham Lincoln was born he lived
20:35with uneducated parents he was born and
20:38raised in a one-room house and wind was
20:41a little boy
20:42he began to have signs and wonders
20:44happening to him the voice of God would
20:46speak audibly to him and she became a
20:47young adult the the angel came and his
20:50ministry exploded but he died in a car
20:53wreck in a tragic place around
20:56Christmastime and the world at that time
20:58of Christianity was shaken how could a
21:00man that knows the secrets and do signs
21:02and wonders died tragic death will
21:05investigate those things we'll find out
21:07why because we don't want you to make
21:09any mistakes he want you to walk across
21:11the finish line that you're calling your
21:12life successfully knowing that you
21:14preach the right thing you perform the

22:22after William Brennaman Oral Roberts
22:24exploded on the scene there was other
22:27great personalities like Jack Coe hey

22:31Kuhlman comes in with the charismatic
22:32movement but if you'll notice behind me

22:36show with the old time gospel background
22:40with the old wooden pulpit the chairs

22:45the wheelchairs that people discarded
22:46when they were prayed for and so when we
22:49come to the 1950s and the Tim revivals
22:51this is the scene where people would
22:53come in with all different kinds of
22:54ailments all different kinds of
22:56handicaps and the man of God of the
22:58woman of God would pray for them and
22:59they would throw their crutches or
23:00there's their stretchers aside and start
23:03walking and running you know Jack cub
23:05was one of those great men that had a
23:08phenomenal store when we get his life
23:09you're gonna love it
23:10he was a Nazarene that got saved in a
23:13Nazarene Church which was almost
23:14impossible in those days to find
23:15salvation in answering church but he did
23:17instead of saying hallelujah or glory to
23:19God or praise or when he got saved he
23:21kept screaming hot dog I got it that's
23:23how Jack Coe expressed his excitement
23:25over being born again and he couldn't
23:27get himself asleep that night so he got
23:30up and went out am I gonna tell folks he
23:31could find around town about salvation
23:33and that's how his ministry really began
23:35and then he got spirit-filled and then
23:38God called him to preach and he found
23:39out that God heals today and he sort of
23:41praying with the sick or Robertson
23:43Kenneth Hagin both told me that no the
23:45person that ever seen in their life had
23:46the gift of faith both of them like Jack
23:48Coe did as you will see in the footage
23:50when we go into his life he would just
23:52pull quarters off people's necks he
23:54would move people violently back and
23:56forth wiglesworth in a way and they get
23:58healed but he died at 38 years of age at
24:01the height of his ministry and we're
24:03gonna find out why when we investigate
24:04his life also in this first season we're
24:06gonna look at the man called a a talent
24:09God's man of faith and power his story
24:11begins with his parents that are called
24:14moonshiners now some of you may don't
24:16know what a moonshiner is but those are
24:18the folks that made illegal alcohol with
24:20the light of the moon moonshiners from
24:22Arkansas where they were from so when he
24:24was a baby they would put alcohol or
24:26moonshine in his bottle to make him fall
24:28asleep and quit crime so at the time he
24:30was 78 years old he would smoke like a
24:32pack of cigarettes and could
24:34drink with the big men and so he grew up
24:36in a very rough way but God saved him
24:38when God saved him he was a hundred
24:41percent for God actually got saved in a
24:43Methodist Church and when he walked in a
24:45Methodist that Lady preacher was
24:47preaching and she stopped her sermon and
24:49said now what did you come here for
24:50Allen boy because everybody in town knew
24:52that Allen boy was trouble said I just
24:54came to listen and that night he
24:55listened and he got born again in a
24:57Methodist Church the long story short he
25:00built the great tent and he was one of
25:02the greatest miracle minute of the last
25:03part of the voice of healing revival and
25:06in his life he ended in a tragic way he
25:09was accused of being an alcoholic toward
25:10the end of his life and I'm gonna tell
25:12you that's true or not we could study
25:14the life of a Yellin but he had miracles
25:16God was with him and we're gonna have a
25:18great time with him now the last one of
25:20this first season is my favorite because
25:21I saw her her name was Katherine Kuhlman
25:24many of you could remember when she used
25:25to come on TV she always said the same
25:27thing I believe in miracles because I
25:29believe in God
25:30she was the redheaded woman from
25:33Concordia Missouri who did not finished
25:35high school who began her life in
25:37ministry helping her sister and
25:39brother-in-law
25:40travel around the country taking care of
25:41their children where they were in tent
25:43meetings because there wasn't enough
25:44money they were gonna send her back home
25:46to Concordia and she didn't want to go
25:48back home so she decided as a teenage
25:51girl she'd start preaching herself so
25:53her first meeting sores in chicken
25:55houses one-room schoolhouses she
25:58actually go in there and clean up the
25:59chicken houses or the turkey houses
26:00sleep there and preach there she's I
26:03only knew one thing salvation so she
26:04made everybody ever not get born again
26:06so if you were born again this night you
26:08came the next time you gotta get saved
26:09again and again and again
26:11that's how Katherine couldn't begin her
26:13great miracle ministry but when you say
26:15Katherine Kuhlman you and I only think
26:18of the last 15 years of her life so
