2. 0:08his parents were moonshiners and he was
3. 0:10a baby they'd put alcohol in his bottle
4. 0:13to make sure he slept how they did all
5. 0:14their evil crimes around Arkansas he
6. 0:17grew up and was born again in the
7. 0:19Methodist meeting he became known as
8. 0:21God's man as faith and power his name as
9. 0:23a a Alan I'm Roberts Lardon and this is
10. 0:26God's generous
11. 0:31[Music]
12. 0:41toward the voice of healing revival the
13. 0:43most outstanding personality of the time
14. 0:45was a man mother never ate a talent his
15. 0:48story should inspire all of us no matter
16. 0:50what you've gone through or how many
17. 0:51tragedies you face you can still win
18. 0:53against all the odds he was born in
19. 0:56Arkansas and his family were moonshiners
20. 0:59now some of you may not want a
21. 1:00moonshiner is but it's the folks that
22. 1:02made illegal alcohol out by the light of
23. 1:05the Moon in the woods and that's how I
24. 1:07was raised his parents for those kind of
25. 1:09folks and when he was a little boy
26. 1:10they'd put alcohol in his bottle make
27. 1:13him go to sleep and by the age of six
28. 1:15you expel two packs a day and could
29. 1:17drink his liquor with everybody else of
30. 1:18probably twice his age so he didn't grow
31. 1:21up in a holy family or a Christian
32. 1:22family he grew up and known in the town
33. 1:25as the wicked little Allen boy for one
34. 1:27night near a revival meeting a Methodist
35. 1:29woman was preaching can you believe God
36. 1:31sent a woman to get a Allen saved he
37. 1:34walked in the back of the meeting and
38. 1:35everybody in town knew who he was and
39. 1:38she stopped her preaching and said why'd
40. 1:39you come here did you come here to cause
41. 1:41trouble did you come here to get saved
42. 1:43and he said well I came to find out
43. 1:45about all this is about and if this is
44. 1:47real I want him so at the end of the
45. 1:49sermon he walked down the aisle of the
46. 1:50Methodist woman preaching and gave his
47. 1:52life to Jesus he began to read Christian
48. 1:54books and his two famous people he'd
49. 1:56like to read about and he loved the most
50. 1:58was BL moody and Charles Finney and his
51. 2:01first sermons in life were actually
52. 2:02their sermons pushed together he kind of
53. 2:04mixed him up and made him his own in a
54. 2:05way but he said he loved preaching Moody
55. 2:07and Finney sermons hey Alan was one of
56. 2:10those guys that by chance he kept
57. 2:12bumping into things which I believe God
58. 2:15was ordering his steps he made his wife
59. 2:17in the parking lot of in Colorado a
60. 2:19track had blown up of one of Amy's of a
61. 2:22person's new I guess newsletters or
62. 2:24magazines and he picked it up and tried
63. 2:27to find out who it was and when he found
64. 2:28out whose it was it was Alexi and it was
65. 2:31a guy II that he began to talk to later
66. 2:33they got married and began their
67. 2:34ministry now he begins their ministry
68. 2:37among the Assemblies of God he tried to
69. 2:39Pastor and then he did it van Gogh
70. 2:41doesn't meet him for a while and he
71. 2:42didn't like preaching as an evangelist
72. 2:44among the Assemblies that caused the pay
73. 2:45was so low they all they ever dove
74. 2:47two key to the next town or enough money
75. 2:48to have enough food for the family so it
76. 2:51don't even past her so he ends up going
77. 2:53to Corpus Christi Texas to Pastor
78. 2:55Assemblies of God Church while he was
79. 2:57there he pastored him preached and you
80. 3:00know did what you're supposed to do but
81. 3:01you know it wasn't quite working for him
82. 3:03and the church loved him but they knew
83. 3:06that their pastor needed something
84. 3:07special but there was a famous memory of
85. 3:10Oral Roberts and the big gospel tent
86. 3:12that was in Dallas and so the church
87. 3:14people took up a little offering enough
88. 3:16to take him to Dallas to hear all
89. 3:18Robert's thinking that maybe he goes
90. 3:20hero Roberts and sees the miracles that
91. 3:22their pastor would come alive and
92. 3:24something new what happened so he goes
93. 3:26up there and sits under that big tent
94. 3:28and watch the old Roberts pray for the
95. 3:29sick and get people saving spirit-filled
96. 3:31he sits in the dens days of all Robert's
97. 3:33can do this I can do this it goes back
98. 3:37to Corpus Christi and I think he shocked
99. 3:38the members of his church and they
100. 3:40wanted this pastor to come alive and not
101. 3:42come back the way he came back he came
102. 3:45back ready to buy his own gospel tip and
103. 3:47take on all the sickness and the demons
104. 3:49of the territory and have a revival
105. 3:51meeting well it scared him his church
106. 3:53members almost to death but they kind of
107. 3:55called him because they sent me to an or
108. 3:57Roberts meeting long story short he had
109. 4:00to leave that church it's amazing how
110. 4:01many times when you come on fire how
111. 4:04many folks don't like the fire that God
112. 4:05gives you or the message that God gives
113. 4:08you or they know that God grants you
114. 4:10sometimes they want you just to be a
115. 4:12little more exciting than what you are
116. 4:13but still controllable still be able to
117. 4:16fit in their little shell of how to pull
118. 4:18the strings and keep control their
119. 4:19pastor make sure the church stays a nice
120. 4:22little Community Church where they sing
121. 4:24Kumbaya put their little tips in the
122. 4:26bucket up for the offering and and it's
123. 4:28called it nice well brother Allen came
124. 4:30back with a bigger spirit bigger faith
125. 4:32and said I want to take healing
126. 4:34evangelism to the world and God's called
127. 4:36me to do that and so we had to leave the
128. 4:38church somebody needed a 10 he left the
129. 4:41church but he needed a tenth was in
130. 4:43those days tents or everything he had
131. 4:45heard about jet Coe and Jack Cohen died
132. 4:47and Jack Koza wife wasn't really using
133. 4:50jet coach Tim so he found out how to
134. 4:53find where Jack Coast hit was and who
135. 4:55owned
136. 4:55so he goes up to her when he talks to
137. 4:58him and goes I want to buy Jack coast
138. 5:00ten but I guess when you've got a 10,000
139. 5:03seat or a 15,000 seater according to how
140. 5:05you you know build it or pull it out I
141. 5:07guess you want to get rid of it so they
142. 5:10sold Jack coast tenant to Amy Alan
143. 5:12so he began to travel around the country
144. 5:14going I've got the world's largest
145. 5:16gospel tent and a reality he did is only
146. 5:20four inches bigger than all others tent
147. 5:21but it was bigger than orals here the
148. 5:24largest one and brother Alan began his
149. 5:26preaching and into this trial he would
150. 5:28be the most flamboyant of all the tip
151. 5:30preachers I'm going to take a little
152. 5:32break here I want us to go to a film
153. 5:34clip of hearing brother Alan sing and
154. 5:36preach under the great gospel tent and
155. 5:38then I'll come back and take him more of
156. 5:40the miracles that he did and what God
157. 5:42had him do for the end of his life

159. 6:09now ladies and gentlemen it's my
160. 6:11pleasure to present to you the man that
161. 6:14God has anointed with a miracle ministry
162. 6:16with a sermon designed to bring help and
163. 6:18blessing and deliverance to you God's
164. 6:20man of faith and power Reverend a a alum
165. 6:24from the 8th chapter of st. John I'm
166. 6:26waiting just one verse tonight listen
167. 6:28carefully
168. 6:29it's the 32nd verse you shall know the
169. 6:32truth and the truth shall make you one
170. 6:37well if the truth of God's Word will
171. 6:40make you free why is that so midlands a
172. 6:42bit of people that they are bound why do
173. 6:44we find some linen ribbons found tied
174. 6:47fettered controlled dominated by
175. 6:49sickness disease sin infirmity deformity
176. 6:54it's because they have never known the
177. 6:56truth the miracle minister that brother
178. 6:59Allen has came to life after he went
179. 7:02through a deep time of fasting and
180. 7:03prayer and God gave him 13 things that
181. 7:05he had to do to have the miracle power
182. 7:07in his life and after he went through
183. 7:09that time of fasting and praying and did
184. 7:11those 13 things they would keep for his
185. 7:13entire life
186. 7:14God increased the miracle power to where
187. 7:16things begin to happen one of the great
188. 7:18miracles I heard about was a lady who
189. 7:19had a weight problem she weighed close
190. 7:22to 500 pounds the the magazine reported
191. 7:25he she came to the prayer line but Allen
192. 7:27prayed verse she fell out on the power
193. 7:28and lost two hundred pounds so when she
194. 7:31stood up all of her under clothes fell
195. 7:32off on the ground but what I want to do
196. 7:34you for a moment
197. 7:35another great gospel that you'll notice
198. 7:37I have these crutches and these
199. 7:38stretchers and things here in the great
200. 7:40tip meetings of those times and Allen's
201. 7:42and COEs and branham's as they begin to
202. 7:44pray for people they would start putting
203. 7:46the stuff that they used to walk with or
204. 7:49they got healed from and they would
205. 7:51leave it at the tent they leave the
206. 7:52canes they'd put it up here on the
207. 7:53pulpit as a sign and a wanderer or a
208. 7:56trophy wall and then down in front of it
209. 7:58they have this rope down there and they
210. 7:59had put the canes and the crutches and
211. 8:01the stretchers and when they got full
212. 8:03they would take their canes and make a
213. 8:05big pile of them on the side of the Tim
214. 8:06and at the end of the meeting they had
215. 8:08set all the crutches and all the other
216. 8:10stuff on fire as a trophy fire to God
217. 8:12now that's called a healing service one
218. 8:15of the guys in the history named in
219. 8:16Raymond T Ritchey
220. 8:17at the end of his mini Houston Texas he
221. 8:19had six different piles of 15
222. 8:22feet high of crutches and stretchers
223. 8:23that's it on fire the end of his revival
224. 8:26meetings brother Allen was no different
225. 8:28that way he had great miracles great
226. 8:29power he loved to break canes and throw
227. 8:31things so I want us to go now to God's
228. 8:34men of faith and power Amy Allan
229. 8:36here we go he's been talking to their
230. 8:40doctor says he was probably there they
231. 8:44can't help him do you mean that my Jesus
232. 8:48wants this man does time for their do
233. 8:51you believe it's God's will for him to
234. 8:53stop or my lord is sure stop the party
235. 8:57the Word of Life the Word of God that
236. 9:00people might live spiritually God has
237. 9:02provided bread that he can live
238. 9:04physically I'm going to play tonight and
239. 9:16Jesus is going to heal you you believe

365. 21:57Alan's life story continues the big
366. 21:59gospel Tim the great miracles he got on
367. 22:02TV and radio
368. 22:03yep pioneer Christian television in
369. 22:05America Look magazine put him in one of
370. 22:08their big articles about the man of
371. 22:10faith and power and the miracles that
372. 22:11were there but there was also some
373. 22:13controversies around him when you do
374. 22:15that kind of miracles and you have those
375. 22:16kind of things that happen through you
376. 22:18the devil's gonna fight you number one
377. 22:20he also allowed blacks of white to sit
378. 22:22together in his tin so the Klu Klux Klan
379. 22:25and the civil rights and all that always
380. 22:26was crazy around him but he said
381. 22:28everybody comes under the tent is equal
382. 22:31there is no separation of any gender or
383. 22:33ethnic background that was great so the
384. 22:35second thing that happened with Alan's
385. 22:37life that was controversial was when the
386. 22:39stress of ministry and the persecution
387. 22:41got very intense on him
388. 22:43there was accusations against him that
389. 22:45he started drinking now I don't think
390. 22:47his drinking probably started until the
391. 22:49toward the end of his ministry after all
392. 22:52those years of walking and talking and
393. 22:53jumping and bouncing like he saw him on
394. 22:55those clips I just showed you a few
395. 22:56moments ago he began to have knee
396. 22:58problems and in the latter part of his
397. 23:00life he had his knees turn to have his
398. 23:02neighbors replaced one knee was replaced
399. 23:05and the other knee was going to have its
400. 23:07replacement in about three or four
401. 23:08months after this one had healed so the
402. 23:10doctors replaced it they gave him
403. 23:12high-powered pain pills it fogged him up
404. 23:15where he couldn't work or function and
405. 23:17so what he'd learned to do he thought
406. 23:19what I can drink alcohol and numb the
407. 23:20pain and still stay functional cuz
408. 23:22remember he's an old drunk from way back
409. 23:24his parents put it in his bottle and he
410. 23:26grew up as a child drinking and smoking
411. 23:27so he was an old drunk so you got a hold
412. 23:30its liquor so brother Alan begin to
413. 23:32drink for medicinal reasons and that
414. 23:34kicked in that alcoholism that God
415. 23:36delivered him from earlier in his life
416. 23:37so some people when you hear the name a
417. 23:40Alan now like all he's a drunk
418. 23:43to stop I want to discuss that just for
419. 23:45a moment brother Allen was not
420. 23:47disagreeing when I'm there sort of
421. 23:48drinking just to drink he began drinking
422. 23:50at the end of his life because of his
423. 23:52knee problems and his knee replacements
424. 23:54for medicinal purposes and back then
425. 23:56they didn't understand how alcoholism
426. 23:58work if they didn't own I'm sure didn't
427. 24:00different thing than what they did but
428. 24:02he began to drink to solve the the pain
429. 24:04problem between the two surgeries in the
430. 24:06healing process and it kicked in that
431. 24:08alcoholism so brother Allen died and the
432. 24:11latter part of his life with an alcohol
433. 24:13problem
434. 24:14he died of acute alcoholism in Oakland
435. 24:16California while waiting to go to
436. 24:18surgery the next morning on his name and
437. 24:20so his assistant came to his hotel room
438. 24:22knocked on the door he didn't answer so
439. 24:25after a while they came and got the
440. 24:27hotel manager they unlocked the door and
441. 24:29brother Allen was found dead in his
442. 24:31hotel room with some of the bottles that
443. 24:33he'd been drinking from there in the
444. 24:35room so I don't tell you that to be
445. 24:37critical of him or to discredit him at
446. 24:39all I love Allen I think we should learn
447. 24:41from him but we should also learn from
448. 24:42the mistake that was made from the
449. 24:44challenge that happened if there's
450. 24:46something in your life that you were
451. 24:48drawn out of or delivered from if you're
452. 24:50not careful it can come back on you
453. 24:52there are some of you they've been
454. 24:53delivered from drugs alcohol different
455. 24:55types of addictions in your life and
456. 24:57you're not careful when you're stressed
457. 24:59out when you're under pressure and if
458. 25:01you're not careful I'll keep you the
459. 25:02Lord not careful it'll come back on you
460. 25:05and get a part of your heart and get
461. 25:07back on the throne of the governments of
462. 25:08your life and take you over so we need
463. 25:11to make sure that when God delivers us
464. 25:12we know how to stay delivered and if we
465. 25:14start having a problem go seek help from
466. 25:17those around us that we can trust now I
467. 25:18know sometimes for ministers that's hard
468. 25:20to find people to trust but there are
469. 25:22people you can trust they can help you
470. 25:24get through the emotional problem or the
471. 25:26addiction pull that's in your life God
472. 25:29will deliver you and your ministers not
473. 25:30over there's a new day ahead of you I
474. 25:32hope this little time that we're here
475. 25:34together talking about brother Allen
476. 25:35please begin to believe God for great
477. 25:37miracles do big things
478. 25:39don't let your mistakes of the past stop
479. 25:41you I'll learn how to avoid them in your
480. 25:42future I hope you'll take the time to
481. 25:45evaluate your life and go forward

507. 26:32for you just for a moment that God would
508. 26:34move into your life and help you
509. 26:36overcome every challenge that you face
510. 26:37whether it's the fear of man whether
511. 26:39it's an addiction or a pull to the world
512. 26:41that God's anointing will break that
513. 26:44bondage and break that pull and give you
514. 26:46a greater hunger for the things of the
515. 26:48eternal to live while you're here in
516. 26:50this natural world I pray for youth for
517. 26:52God to give you the right friends in
518. 26:54your life and the wrong people to get
519. 26:56out so the right people can help you
520. 26:58assist you and be a blessing to your
521. 27:01life I look forward to hearing from you
