  1. 0:00So, I still vividly remember the first
  2. 0:02time I made any money online, and it was
  3. 0:04a grand total of $8. But I'm not even
  4. 0:07joking. It felt like I'd made a million
  5. 0:09dollars. Like, I was over the moon. And
  6. 0:11after that, it was only a couple of
  7. 0:13months later that I'd made my first
  8. 0:15$1,000 from creating content. So, in
  9. 0:18this video, I'm going to give you what
  10. 0:19is easily the fastest, most
  11. 0:21beginnerfriendly way to make your first
  12. 0:23$1,000 as a content creator. and it's
  13. 0:26the exact strategy that I used to not
  14. 0:28only make my first $1,000, but also to
  15. 0:31scale all the way up to five figures a
  16. 0:33month as well. But just before we dive
  17. 0:35into that strategy, I need to call you
  18. 0:37out on something because I can almost
  19. 0:38guarantee you have at least one of these
  20. 0:41limiting beliefs when it comes to your
  21. 0:43journey as a content creator. So, you
  22. 0:45might be thinking, "I'm not interesting
  23. 0:47enough to make YouTube videos, or I'm
  24. 0:49not confident and I feel awkward on
  25. 0:51camera." And listen, I get why you feel
  26. 0:53that way. These thoughts, they they feel
  27. 0:55true, especially if you're starting from
  28. 0:57zero. But the thing is that every single
  29. 0:59creator, you know, started off
  30. 1:01incredibly awkward on camera. Like, it's
  31. 1:03such an unnatural thing to do just to
  32. 1:05sit in a room on your own and speak to a
  33. 1:07camera. But at the end of the day, the
  34. 1:09confidence that you're looking for has
  35. 1:10to be earned. Not by thinking about it,
  36. 1:13not by waiting until you're ready, but
  37. 1:15by sitting down, pressing record,
  38. 1:17messing it up a little bit, uploading it
  39. 1:19anyway, and just repeating that process
  40. 1:21over and over. So, if you can relate to
  41. 1:23that feeling, take this video as your
  42. 1:25sign to just get started and let the
  43. 1:28confidence catch up with you. Okay. So,
  44. 1:30when it comes to making your first
  45. 1:31$1,000 online, you might also be
  46. 1:34thinking that you need a huge audience
  47. 1:36to start making any money, that you need
  48. 1:38millions of subscribers and millions of
  49. 1:40views. Well, that is so not true if you
  50. 1:44pick the right niche. Now, I want to
  51. 1:45keep it as real and honest as possible
  52. 1:47in these videos. So, this is something
  53. 1:49that most other creators are not going
  54. 1:51to tell you. But if you are in a
  55. 1:53lowquality niche, you are going to have
  56. 1:55to work 10 times harder and get 10 times
  57. 1:58the amount of views to make the same
  58. 1:59kind of money as someone who is in a
  59. 2:01highly profitable niche. And I've
  60. 2:03actually experienced this myself. It is
  61. 2:05just the truth. So, let me give you an
  62. 2:07example. If you are in, let's say, the
  63. 2:09entertainment niche, you make, I don't
  64. 2:10know, comedy videos or videos for
  65. 2:12children or something like that, your
  66. 2:14AdSense, so the amount of money you make
  67. 2:16per 1,000 views on your videos is going
  68. 2:18to be really, really low. And on top of
  69. 2:20that, what do you even sell to that
  70. 2:22audience? However, if you are in a
  71. 2:24highly profitable niche, not only will
  72. 2:26your CPM be higher, so the amount of
  73. 2:28money you make per 1,000 views, but you
  74. 2:31can also start to set up other income
  75. 2:33streams so much easier. And trust me, in
  76. 2:36these kind of niches, you can have a
  77. 2:38very small audience and make a lot of
  78. 2:41money. Okay, so now that we've addressed
  79. 2:42these limiting beliefs, I want to dive
  80. 2:44into the more practical stuff. So, let's
  81. 2:46take a look at the specific step-by-step
  82. 2:49framework to make your first $1,000
  83. 2:51online. So, generally speaking, there
  84. 2:53are four main ways to make money as a
  85. 2:55content creator, and I call these the
  86. 2:57big four. And the first one is
  87. 2:59definitely the most well-known, and that
  88. 3:00is ad revenue. Now, I'm not going to
  89. 3:02waste too much of your time with this
  90. 3:03one. And I'm sure you already
  91. 3:04understand, you know, the YouTube
  92. 3:06partnership program and things like
  93. 3:07that. And there are actually other ways
  94. 3:08to make money directly from ads on a
  95. 3:10platform. For example, Twitter now pays
  96. 3:12you directly. Tik Tok also has a
  97. 3:15partnership program. But these other
  98. 3:16methods are extremely difficult to make
  99. 3:18any sort of real money. So this one
  100. 3:20primarily only really applies to
  101. 3:22YouTube. And when it comes to the amount
  102. 3:23that you make from the ads on your
  103. 3:25videos, the amount that you're going to
  104. 3:26make depends heavily again on the niche
  105. 3:28that you're in and also the length of
  106. 3:30your videos as well. And to give you a
  107. 3:32very quick example of just how much the
  108. 3:34AdSense can vary between niches, if you
  109. 3:37are in a highly profitable niche such as
  110. 3:40finance, business, you know, career
  111. 3:42skills and things like that, and then
  112. 3:43you also make relatively long videos,
  113. 3:46you could make between $15 to $25 per
  114. 3:491,000 views on YouTube. Whereas, let's
  115. 3:52say you're in the entertainment niche
  116. 3:53and you make relatively short videos,
  117. 3:56you might only be looking at $1 to $2
  118. 3:58per 1,000 views. And again, I actually
  119. 4:01learned this the hard way. So, I
  120. 4:02actually created a YouTube channel about
  121. 4:04a year and a half ago, and it actually
  122. 4:05did really well. So, that I think the
  123. 4:07second video I posted got like 400,000
  124. 4:10views or something like that. So, it did
  125. 4:12really well right out of the gate. But
  126. 4:13when I got accepted into the partnership
  127. 4:15program, I was making like $1.50 for
  128. 4:19every 1,000 views, which isn't even, you
  129. 4:21know, remotely sustainable if you want
  130. 4:23to make any sort of real money. And the
  131. 4:25interesting part is that for most
  132. 4:26creators on YouTube, the money that they
  133. 4:28make from from the partnership program
  134. 4:31is usually their lowest stream of income
  135. 4:33because you can actually make way way
  136. 4:35more money using the other methods that
  137. 4:37we're about to discuss. Okay, so the
  138. 4:39second way to make money as a content
  139. 4:41creator in the big four is actually
  140. 4:43sponsorships. So there is a big
  141. 4:45misconception when it comes to
  142. 4:46sponsorships. I think that most people
  143. 4:48think that you only start getting
  144. 4:49sponsored and you only start getting
  145. 4:50brand deals when you have a massive
  146. 4:52audience. But I know plenty of let's
  147. 4:54call them micro creators who are around
  148. 4:57the 5 to 10,000 subscriber or follower
  149. 4:59mark who are making pretty good money
  150. 5:01from sponsorships. And when you start
  151. 5:03building up a decentsized audience,
  152. 5:05sponsorships can become extremely
  153. 5:07lucrative. And I'll give you an example
  154. 5:09from my own journey. So when my content
  155. 5:11started really blowing up, I started
  156. 5:13getting companies like Adobe reaching
  157. 5:15out. So if you don't know who Adobe are,
  158. 5:17they're the company that make Photoshop
  159. 5:19and Premiere Pro, After Effects. And
  160. 5:21unfortunately, I'm not allowed to tell
  161. 5:22you how much they pay for those
  162. 5:24sponsorships. But I can tell you it's
  163. 5:26very tasty. Like, it's a lot of money.
  164. 5:28But having said that, it's usually very
  165. 5:29inconsistent. Like, these big companies
  166. 5:31usually aren't going to want to pay you
  167. 5:33every single week or even every single
  168. 5:35month. And you never want to be one of
  169. 5:36those creators who's just shilling any
  170. 5:38product and, you know, promoting some
  171. 5:40like mobile game app and just like
  172. 5:42completely selling out. So, what we need
  173. 5:44to do is we need to find an income
  174. 5:45stream that makes us a lot of money, but
  175. 5:47is also consistent and reliable. And
  176. 5:49that actually brings us on to the third
  177. 5:51way to make money as a content creator.
  178. 5:53And that is one-on-one coaching. And the
  179. 5:56funny thing about this income stream is
  180. 5:57this is how a lot of creators start
  181. 5:59accidentally making money. Because if
  182. 6:01you're in a strong profitable niche and
  183. 6:03you show through your content that you
  184. 6:05are trustworthy, that you are very
  185. 6:07knowledgeable, and that you can solve
  186. 6:08people's problems, then people will
  187. 6:10start messaging you about the specific
  188. 6:12problems that they're having within that
  189. 6:14niche. But having said that, if I'm
  190. 6:16being completely honest, I've never
  191. 6:17liked one-on-one coaching because it's
  192. 6:19just not scalable. Like, you're trading
  193. 6:21your time for money, and there's no real
  194. 6:24leverage. But speaking of leverage, that
  195. 6:26actually brings us onto the fourth and
  196. 6:28easily the best way to make money from
  197. 6:31content creation. And maybe you've
  198. 6:32guessed it already, but that is digital
  199. 6:35products. So selling digital products is
  200. 6:37not only how I made my first $1,000
  201. 6:40online, but it's also how I scaled my
  202. 6:42business and my brand to five figures a
  203. 6:45month in profit. So why is a digital
  204. 6:47product the best way to make money as a
  205. 6:50content creator? Well, first of all, the
  206. 6:52profit margin is essentially 100%. And
  207. 6:54you're also not trading your time for
  208. 6:56money because you build the product once
  209. 6:58and then you can sell it for months or
  210. 7:00even years into the future. But when it
  211. 7:02comes to creating a digital product,
  212. 7:05what do we actually sell to our
  213. 7:06audience? Well, before I answer that
  214. 7:08question, there is one concept that you
  215. 7:10need to understand first. And it's
  216. 7:12something that I call the stepping stone
  217. 7:15principle. And trust me, once this
  218. 7:16clicks, once you understand this, making
  219. 7:18money as a content creator becomes
  220. 7:20effortless. So, what exactly is the
  221. 7:23stepping stone principle? Well, it's the
  222. 7:25idea that your digital product should be
  223. 7:27the next logical step or the next
  224. 7:29natural stepping stone for someone who's
  225. 7:31been watching your content. So, let me
  226. 7:33give you an example. Let's say your
  227. 7:35content helps students focus and stop
  228. 7:38procrastinating and, you know, build
  229. 7:40better study habits. Well, if those are
  230. 7:42the topics you talk about in your free
  231. 7:44content, then your paid digital product
  232. 7:46should then be something that's going to
  233. 7:48genuinely help them solve those
  234. 7:50problems. So you could sell, you know,
  235. 7:52notion study templates that help them
  236. 7:53organize their tasks or help them to
  237. 7:56stop procrastination or even some sort
  238. 7:58of guided course that is specifically
  239. 8:00aimed at helping students with their
  240. 8:02focus. And now you can see that the
  241. 8:03bridge between your free content and
  242. 8:05your paid product, there's virtually no
  243. 8:07friction. So it almost feels like the
  244. 8:09next logical stepping stone from your
  245. 8:12free content. Now, if you try to sell
  246. 8:14that same audience, let's say a course
  247. 8:16on how to build a business as a student,
  248. 8:19that's just not really going to work.
  249. 8:20There's way too much friction and a
  250. 8:22large percentage of your audience is
  251. 8:24just not going to be interested in that
  252. 8:26product. So, yeah, the digital product
  253. 8:28essentially needs to align with your
  254. 8:30free content. It needs to solve a very
  255. 8:32specific problem and also feel like a
  256. 8:34natural progression or a natural
  257. 8:37stepping stone from the topics that you
  258. 8:39talk about in your videos. Okay, so now
  259. 8:41let's talk about the best digital
  260. 8:42products that you can sell as a content
  261. 8:44creator to get to your first $1,000. So,
  262. 8:48if you're just starting out creating
  263. 8:49content, one of the best strategies you
  264. 8:51can use is to start by selling low
  265. 8:53ticket digital products. Let's say in
  266. 8:55the range of $50 to
  267. 8:57$150. Now, if you are a complete
  268. 9:00beginner and you've heard the advice
  269. 9:01online that you need to be selling, you
  270. 9:03know, high ticket products, you need to
  271. 9:04be looking more at one-on-one coaching
  272. 9:06because right now you don't really have
  273. 9:08the social proof to justify charging
  274. 9:10someone $2 or $3,000 for something like
  275. 9:13an online course. And it's going to be
  276. 9:14way easier to start selling low ticket
  277. 9:17digital products first and then later on
  278. 9:18in your journey, you can move up to
  279. 9:20start selling high ticket products as
  280. 9:22well. Now, the actual type of digital
  281. 9:24products that you want to sell is going
  282. 9:25to be highly dependent on your niche,
  283. 9:27but I will give you a few examples. So,
  284. 9:29firstly, you can sell ebooks. So, I
  285. 9:31actually had some really good results
  286. 9:33with this, selling an ebook on how to
  287. 9:35get more clients as a graphic designer.
  288. 9:38And the reason why I'm recommending this
  289. 9:39first if you're a beginner is because
  290. 9:40they are so easy to make. Like, you can
  291. 9:43literally make a professionallook ebook
  292. 9:45in Canva for free or you can even just
  293. 9:48export a Google doc as a PDF. Another
  294. 9:50type of digital product that you can
  295. 9:52sell is templates like notion planners
  296. 9:54and things like that. And I can tell you
  297. 9:56right now, there are content creators
  298. 9:57out there who are making stupid amounts
  299. 10:00of money from notion templates and
  300. 10:03ebooks as well. You can also sell things
  301. 10:05like digital assets. So, if you're into
  302. 10:07graphic design or photography or video
  303. 10:09editing or any kind of visualbased
  304. 10:11content, then you can sell things like
  305. 10:13presets or design assets and things like
  306. 10:15that. And I actually did this a couple
  307. 10:17years ago and it was my first ever
  308. 10:19digital product. And this is exactly how
  309. 10:21I made my first $1,000 a month. So I was
  310. 10:24selling, you know, Photoshop templates
  311. 10:26and graphic design assets and things
  312. 10:28like that. Or another example is you
  313. 10:29could sell a video course or a
  314. 10:31pre-recorded workshop, which again is
  315. 10:33what I did on my own journey. And that's
  316. 10:35actually the method I used to scale to 5
  317. 10:37figures a month. Now, if you're unsure
  318. 10:39on what to actually sell, I would always
  319. 10:41start with an ebook. It's super easy to
  320. 10:44make. You can set the price relatively
  321. 10:46low and it's just a really good way to
  322. 10:47get your foot in the door and become
  323. 10:49comfortable with selling digital
  324. 10:51products. And if you have both a growing
  325. 10:53audience in a decent niche and also an
  326. 10:55ebook that genuinely offers solutions to
  327. 10:57the problems within that niche, then you
  328. 10:59can easily make $1,000 just from that
  329. 11:03product alone. And the final thing I
  330. 11:04want to dive into is how do we actually
  331. 11:06sell these products? Like what platforms
  332. 11:08do we use to take payments and upload
  333. 11:11our digital products? Well, the main
  334. 11:13website that you've probably heard of
  335. 11:14before when it comes to selling products
  336. 11:16online is Shopify. But I want to give
  337. 11:18you a warning here. Please do not try
  338. 11:21and use Shopify to sell digital
  339. 11:23products. Shopify is actually designed
  340. 11:25for selling physical products. And I've
  341. 11:27actually tried to sell digital products
  342. 11:28on Shopify and it is an absolute
  343. 11:31nightmare. Like you have to go and
  344. 11:33download all these additional apps in
  345. 11:34order to even sell digital products in
  346. 11:36the first place and then they always
  347. 11:37break and then customers don't get the
  348. 11:39product that they paid for. Honestly,
  349. 11:41it's a mess. like please do not try to
  350. 11:43use Shopify for digital products.
  351. 11:45Instead, if you are a complete beginner,
  352. 11:47I'm going to recommend that you use a
  353. 11:48platform called Gumroad. And the reason
  354. 11:50I would recommend Gumroad is well,
  355. 11:52firstly, it's completely free. So,
  356. 11:53there's no monthly subscription to host
  357. 11:56your online store. It's also super
  358. 11:57intuitive and beginner friendly, and
  359. 11:59it's so easy to add and edit products.
  360. 12:01And this is starting to sound like I'm
  361. 12:03actually sponsored by Gumroad.
  362. 12:04Obviously, I'm not, but it's just a
  363. 12:06platform that I would recommend. So, now
  364. 12:07that you have a good understanding of
  365. 12:09the best ways to make your first $1,000,
  366. 12:12we need to talk about the next crucial
  367. 12:14step, which is actually building your
  368. 12:15audience in the first place. So, in this
  369. 12:17video right here, I will show you the
  370. 12:19exact strategy that I used to grow my
  371. 12:22audience to
  372. 12:23250,000 in just my first 6 months on
  373. 12:26social media. And I know that sounds
