  4. 0:06self-contained environments with their
  5. 0:08own chat histories, specific knowledge
  6. 0:10bases, and customized settings. We are
  7. 0:13going to provide an overview of
  8. 0:14projects, what they are used for, how to
  9. 0:16create them, and some [music] advanced
  10. 0:18features. Let's talk about a few of the
  11. 0:20key features of projects. Project
  12. 0:22knowledge enhances Claude's
  13. 0:24understanding by allowing you to upload
  14. 0:26relevant documents within each project.
  15. 0:28Every time you chat with Claude inside
  16. 0:30of a project, this knowledge is
  17. 0:32automatically [music]
  18. 0:32considered alongside your prompt. This
  19. 0:35contextual information enables Claude to
  20. 0:37deliver more informed project specific
  21. 0:39responses that align with your team's
  22. 0:41goals, terminology, and background.
  23. 0:44Projects can handle much more content
  24. 0:46without running into limits. Projects
  25. 0:48with lots of information are
  26. 0:49automatically processed [music] using
  27. 0:51retrieval augmented generation, enabling
  28. 0:53Claude to use more context to help you.
  29. 0:56When setting up a project, you can
  30. 0:58define project instructions for each
  31. 1:00project to further tailor Claude's
  32. 1:01responses. [music]
  33. 1:02Like context, these are considered every
  34. 1:05time you chat with Claude. It's a good
  35. 1:06space to guide the way Claude responds.
  36. 1:09For example, you can ask Claude to use a
  37. 1:11more formal tone or answer questions
  38. 1:13from a specific perspective targeting a
  39. 1:15specific industry. If you're on a Claude
  40. 1:18for work plan, you can share projects
  41. 1:19with other members of your organization,
  42. 1:21enabling powerful collaboration and
  43. 1:23knowledge sharing capabilities. For
  44. 1:25example, a brand team can create a
  45. 1:27project with voice and tone guidelines
  46. 1:29that helps anyone at their company write
  47. 1:31like a marketer. Okay, let's get started
  48. 1:34by creating your first project in three
  49. 1:36simple steps.
  50. 1:40Click new project and give it a name.
  51. 1:42Next, describe your project and what you
  52. 1:44are hoping to achieve like I would
  53. 1:46[music] like to make brand guidelines to
  54. 1:48write a series of case study blogs for
  55. 1:50my flower business. Click create
  56. 1:52project. To the right of the project
  57. 1:53title, you see a few menu items. You can
  58. 1:56star this project for quicker access and
  59. 1:59edit project details and archive or
  60. 2:02delete the project. Provide Claude with
  61. 2:04relevant instructions and information
  62. 2:06for the chats within the project. This
  63. 2:08will work alongside user preferences and
  64. 2:10the selected style. Choose visibility
  65. 2:13for your project. You can choose private
  66. 2:15for personal use or public for team
  67. 2:17collaboration.
  68. 2:21From here, provide project instructions
  69. 2:24and information for the chats within the
  70. 2:26project. This will work alongside the
  71. 2:27user preferences and the selected style.
  72. 2:30Click on instructions to define how
  73. 2:32Claude should respond. Within this
  74. 2:34space, you can specify tone, expertise
  75. 2:36level, response style, and desired
  76. 2:38[music] outcomes or simply give more
  77. 2:40context on what you're trying to achieve
  78. 2:41with this project. For instance, when
  79. 2:44providing the brand guidelines, explain
  80. 2:45the thought process and highlight tone
  81. 2:47and brand application. Once done
  82. 2:49providing instructions, click save
  83. 2:51instructions. This will apply to every
  84. 2:53chat in the project.
  85. 2:58You'll find the files menu on the right
  86. 3:00side of your project's main page.
  87. 3:02Anything you upload to this space will
  88. 3:04be used across all of your chats within
  89. 3:06this project. Click on the plus button
  90. 3:08to add content to the project. You can
  91. 3:10upload PDFs, documents, CSVs, text
  92. 3:14files, or connect to Google Drive. Now
  93. 3:16Claude can instantly reference this
  94. 3:18content in any conversation. Claude will
  95. 3:21process this information and use it as
  96. 3:23context in your chats within the
  97. 3:24project. For example, if you are working
  98. 3:27on creating new brand guidelines for a
  99. 3:29specific client, you can upload their
  100. 3:30existing branded materials and Claude
  101. 3:32will reference that file in its
  102. 3:34response. Note that context is not
  103. 3:36shared across disparate chats within a
  104. 3:39project unless the information is added
  105. 3:41into [music] the project knowledge base.
  106. 3:43Sometimes your project knowledge will
  107. 3:44approach the context window limit.
  108. 3:46Claude will automatically enable rag
  109. 3:48mode to expand your project's capacity.
  110. 3:50Once your project is set up, you can
  111. 3:52initiate chats with Claude within the
  112. 3:54project. You can learn more about best
  113. 3:56practices for chatting and Claude by
  114. 3:58reviewing one of our other videos.
  115. 4:03You can make chats public [music] so
  116. 4:05teammates can view and build onto your
  117. 4:07work. There are three permission levels
  118. 4:10that control who can do what in your
  119. 4:12projects. Can view members can view
  120. 4:14project contents, access knowledge, and
  121. 4:17chat, but can't make changes. Think
  122. 4:19readonly access with discussion rights.
  123. 4:22Canedit members have full collaboration
  124. 4:25power. They can modify instructions,
  125. 4:27update knowledge, manage members,
  126. 4:29[music] and actively contribute to the
  127. 4:30project. Project creators control
  128. 4:33everything. Plus, they decide who sees
  129. 4:35the project. They can share with
  130. 4:36specific people or make private projects
  131. 4:39visible to the entire organization. The
  132. 4:41right permissions keep your projects
  133. 4:42secure while enabling smooth
  134. 4:44collaboration. So, pick the options that
  135. 4:46work best for your team. Here are some
  136. 4:48of Claude's collaboration features.

  138. 4:52easily find projects that others have
  139. 4:53shared with you. You will receive email
  140. 4:55notifications when someone shares a
  141. 4:57project with you. And project creators
  142. 4:59can modify permissions or remove access
  143. 5:01as needed. Multiple members can
  144. 5:03contribute documents, create chats, and
  145. 5:05work together within the same project
  146. 5:07environment, making projects ideal for
  147. 5:09team collaboration. Sometimes you need
  148. 5:11to use content without adding it to your
  149. 5:13project's knowledge base. [music] No
  150. 5:15problem. Simply upload it during the
  151. 5:16conversation, and it stays separate from
  152. 5:19your project [music] knowledge. It's a
  153. 5:20perfect way to share context or examples
  154. 5:23without cluttering the knowledge base.
