  56. 2:00share that with you so if you're new to
  57. 2:02my channel make sure that you click like
  58. 2:03and I'm assuming you came to this video
  59. 2:05because you wanted to know more make
  60. 2:06sure that you check some of my older
  61. 2:08videos on this I have several I'll make
  62. 2:10sure I link some of the more recent ones
  63. 2:11down below so check out the description
  64. 2:13box but let me tell y'all what
  65. 2:15hidradenitis is hidradenitis suppurativa
  66. 2:17is a skin condition that takes many
  67. 2:20forms some doctors and researchers have
  68. 2:22referred to it if even somewhat like in
  69. 2:24autoimmune disease it takes the form of
  70. 2:26small pimple like bumps deep acne like
  71. 2:29nodules or even boils the lesions or
  72. 2:32these areas are really really painful
  73. 2:34like y'all I will up with tears when I
  74. 2:36think about how painful they actually
  75. 2:38are they grow in places that rub
  76. 2:40together or sweat a lot your armpits are
  77. 2:42in your growing area or that area right
  78. 2:45there in the crease of your legs where
  79. 2:48it rubs together in shapes and cause a
  80. 2:50lot of sweating and also a lot of
  81. 2:52friction so scars and tracks can develop
  82. 2:55under your skin after these lesions heal
  83. 2:57too so sometimes these boils these
  84. 2:59wounds or these pimples can end up
  85. 3:01draining draining pus or things like
  86. 3:03that and causing a lot of damage to the
  87. 3:06skin this condition occurs when sweat
  88. 3:08glands or hair follicles become blocked
  89. 3:10and then inflamed but some of the things
  90. 3:12that are thought to really aggravate it
  91. 3:13are various health conditions smoking
  92. 3:16habits and even your family history it's
  93. 3:18not necessarily caused by infections or
  94. 3:20poor hygiene so don't let anybody make
  95. 3:22you feel bad about yourself saying
  96. 3:25you're dirty or nasty you didn't do
  97. 3:27anything wrong or directly wrong to
  98. 3:29yourself - cause this issue if you do
  99. 3:31have hidradenitis or you believe that
  100. 3:33you do you are not dirty you're not a
  101. 3:35bad person you have not done anything
  102. 3:37wrong and y'all know every video I'm
  103. 3:40doing this I cry and I'm not gonna sit
  104. 3:42up here and cry but I will say that it
  105. 3:44was frightening to not know what was
  106. 3:46going on my body now I'm so happy that
  107. 3:48I've reduced the flare-ups significantly
  108. 3:51like I told you guys I might get one a
  109. 3:53year if that I don't even think I saw
  110. 3:56one this year or last year so I have
  111. 3:59been in great shape but to not know
  112. 4:01what's going on with your body it's a
  113. 4:02scary place and I understand because
  114. 4:05I've listened to the strength of your
  115. 4:06emails that come in to me we all tell me
  116. 4:09your stories I relate and I might not be
  117. 4:11able to respond to everybody but this is
  118. 4:13my way of responding and tell you to
  119. 4:15keep your head held high hopefully
  120. 4:18working through the issues working with
  121. 4:20a doctor working with yourself doing
  122. 4:22some research and my videos will bring
  123. 4:23you some kind of relief so hopefully
  124. 4:25this gave you a good look at what this
  125. 4:27is so to tell you guys a little bit
  126. 4:29about my story I was diagnosed with
  127. 4:30hidradenitis at about the age of 20
  128. 4:32which we know it's a tender age I was in
  129. 4:35college I was doing my thing but I
  130. 4:37noticed that every now and again
  131. 4:38especially when I was stressed out and
  132. 4:40at that time as you all know I was a
  133. 4:42hundred and eight pounds heavier it's
  134. 4:44always much heavier so I had a lot more
  135. 4:46friction and sweating and a lot of other
  136. 4:49things happening with my body as well so
  137. 4:51I went into the doctor because I didn't
  138. 4:53know what was going on it to be honest
  139. 4:55all I knew about at that time was
  140. 4:56sexually transmitted diseases I didn't
  141. 4:58know what was going on all I knew is
  142. 5:00that I was getting large pus-filled
  143. 5:01boils whether they came under my arms
  144. 5:03sometimes or down in that inner area of
  145. 5:05my thighs I was like embarrassed because
  146. 5:08I didn't know what was going on or what
  147. 5:09was happening and nobody was talking
  148. 5:11about it so when I went to my doctor she
  149. 5:13didn't really know a whole lot about it
  150. 5:15and I had already kind of done some
  151. 5:17research and she and I talked about it
  152. 5:18and later when she did tell me she felt
  153. 5:20that it was hard right at night
  154. 5:21since so did I so make sure that if
  155. 5:23you're gonna go into the doctor if
  156. 5:25you're afraid that this is what you're
  157. 5:26facing go with research in him not all
  158. 5:29doctors or healthcare providers know
  159. 5:31what this is what I did was I went in
  160. 5:33when was actually active I showed her
  161. 5:35the scarring she saw it she knew what
  162. 5:37was going on she was able to research I
  163. 5:39was able to research and that was what
  164. 5:41we came to that was a big reason for why
  165. 5:44I made such a drastic change in my life
  166. 5:46and I lost most of the weight because I
  167. 5:48noticed that there were a lot of areas
  168. 5:50of chafing and a lot of times rubbing up
  169. 5:52against my clothes things like that
  170. 5:53we're causing me great discomfort and I
  171. 5:56was noticing that there were more flares
  172. 5:57at that time the doctor also recommended
  173. 6:00that I lost weight at that time even
  174. 6:01though she wasn't very familiar with the
  175. 6:03disease she thought that that would be
  176. 6:05good just because of the areas in which
  177. 6:06I was getting boils and scars that's
  178. 6:08around the time that I went natural I
  179. 6:10started really caring for my body I
  180. 6:11started watching the things I was
  181. 6:13putting in my body and on my body so it
  182. 6:15made me a lot more health conscious it
  183. 6:17also helped me to propel myself to share
  184. 6:20my stories with you guys and over the
  185. 6:21years you all have really poured into me
  186. 6:24with emails and everything letting me
  187. 6:26know about your hidradenitis
  188. 6:27difficulties if you're really
  189. 6:29questioning something about your health
  190. 6:31you should definitely go and see your
  191. 6:32doctor it's always good to do your own
  192. 6:35research as well especially if you know
  193. 6:36or even if you don't know when you have
  194. 6:38a similar issue it's always great to
  195. 6:40learn natural remedies and things that
  196. 6:42you can do on your own to keep yourself
  197. 6:43healthy so while there's a lot of
  198. 6:45treatment options including medication
  199. 6:47today my whole focus is really showing
  200. 6:49you things you can do for yourself
  201. 6:51things that can really work things that
  202. 6:53you might have around the house and some
  203. 6:54things you might want to go out and get
  204. 6:56and try out all the items that I'm
  205. 6:57talking about today can be found down
  206. 6:59below in the information section if you
  207. 7:01can relate to my story or if you have a
  208. 7:03story of your own let me know by
  209. 7:05clicking like and also commenting down
  210. 7:07below with some of the things that
  211. 7:08you've endured maybe because you don't
  212. 7:11know if you have this or if you do we're
  213. 7:13in a no-judgment zone over here we just
  214. 7:14like to discuss and we like to solve
  215. 7:16issues if we can let me jump right into
  216. 7:19some ways for you to reduce your pain
  217. 7:20flare-ups boils as well as the scarring
  218. 7:23I'm not saying to use all of these
  219. 7:25things at once I'm saying to try what
  220. 7:28might work for you of what you already
  221. 7:30have around and give it a shot see what
  222. 7:33might work for you ever
  223. 7:34thing does not need to be tried at once
  224. 7:36and remember I've always told you guys
  225. 7:38sometimes it takes about six weeks or
  226. 7:40more to see a process through some of us
  227. 7:43want such a quick fix that we think that
  228. 7:45it should happen overnight and it's not
  229. 7:47our bodies weren't built overnight our
  230. 7:49genetics didn't come overnight it takes
  231. 7:51time so be patient with your body you
  232. 7:54might be causing yourself more stress
  233. 7:56which means more flare-ups by being too
  234. 7:58hard on yourself so when I feel a boil
  235. 8:00coming on or I think that something is
  236. 8:03happening right under my skin I love to
  237. 8:05reach for a hot compress but I'm very
  238. 8:07careful about this because a lot of
  239. 8:08times we think that a hot compress just
  240. 8:10has to be a warm towel but I've learned
  241. 8:13and I've done my research dry sources of
  242. 8:15heat are much better for you because you
  243. 8:17want to keep that area dry remember a
  244. 8:19lot of it is aggravated because those
  245. 8:21sweat glands are aggravated so you want
  246. 8:23to make sure that you keep that area
  247. 8:24clean and dry so what I love to use is
  248. 8:28my heating pad y'all have seen this in
  249. 8:30other videos I have this link down below
  250. 8:32in the information section of this video
  251. 8:34but I love it because it has adjustable
  252. 8:36heat settings easy power button it's
  253. 8:39soft and it's gentle and I know that it
  254. 8:42heats to a nice capacity I use it for
  255. 8:44everything even my minstrel period in
  256. 8:46cycle making sure that you keep a direct
  257. 8:49source of heat that should dry around
  258. 8:51you even maybe a hot water bottle those
  259. 8:54are really good as well because those
  260. 8:55are drier sources of heat dry sources of
  261. 8:57heat are good instead of reaching for
  262. 8:59its house y'all know how I feel about
  263. 9:01towels and skin anyway because the
  264. 9:04towels can secretly carry bacteria even
  265. 9:06if you're very clean that there's not a
  266. 9:08thing you ate that you're dirty
  267. 9:09but sometimes towels over time they're
  268. 9:11just taking a lot of bacteria and even
  269. 9:14in the washing machine you can't trust
  270. 9:16that it gets 100% of the bacteria out so
  271. 9:19the last thing you want to do with a
  272. 9:20boil or open star is put something on it
  273. 9:23that could be a source of frustration
  274. 9:24for you later on I think y'all can tell
  275. 9:26I have a great respect for but me a tea
  276. 9:29tree are we right here
  277. 9:30I love tea tree oil and it's become one
  278. 9:33of my best friends tea tree oil is not
  279. 9:35only a great source for healing scars
  280. 9:37but it's also antiseptic antibacterial
  281. 9:40antifungal and antiviral I taught you
  282. 9:43about scars in a recent video so this
  283. 9:45one is really
  284. 9:46good specifically at the scars caused by
  285. 9:48boils and acne I've never used tea tree
  286. 9:51oil straight I always tell you guys that
  287. 9:54some people can some people's skin can
  288. 9:56handle that but my sensitive skin is
  289. 9:58only more aggravated when I do so what I
  290. 10:00normally do is combine tea tree oil with
  291. 10:02like a coconut oil or a olive oil and
  292. 10:05all you need is a few drops and then you
  293. 10:08spread that on that area or around that
  294. 10:11area I found this to be particularly
  295. 10:13helpful because my boils I noticed and I
  296. 10:16pinpointed this and click like if you
  297. 10:17can relate a 10-point that a lot of
  298. 10:19times they would happen around my
  299. 10:20menstrual cycles so I really keep the
  300. 10:23tea tree oil around them so if I'm
  301. 10:25feeling anything weird under the skin I
  302. 10:27go ahead and I reach for that mixture
  303. 10:28the great thing about tea tree oil is it
  304. 10:30also can assist in diminishing the scar
  305. 10:33after your boil is healing whenever I
  306. 10:35use the mixture I use it about twice a
  307. 10:37day it helps to replace old skin cells
  308. 10:39with new skin cells it soothes it
  309. 10:41cleanses and it also helps to tighten
  310. 10:43the skin it reduces skin inflammation
  311. 10:45and it offers relief from mild
  312. 10:48inflammation one thing I want to remind
  313. 10:49you of is you never want to put anything
  314. 10:52like tea tree oil or any other treatment
  315. 10:54directly into an open lesion my next
  316. 10:56favorite thing y'all have heard about
  317. 10:58before I've talked about neem oil
  318. 11:00I love neem oil to the core it is an
  319. 11:03amazing oil it reduces redness bacteria
  320. 11:07and also inflammation which we know that
  321. 11:10most of these boils are really highly
  322. 11:12inflammation which can lead to better
  323. 11:14healing of scars and wounds I usually
  324. 11:16take a little named oil add it to a
  325. 11:18cotton pad and rub it right over that
  326. 11:20area as long as it's not open if you do
  327. 11:23have an open area just rub it around
  328. 11:25that area I do not put it inside the
  329. 11:27area and if I do remember sometimes I'll
  330. 11:30take it and mix it with just aloe vera
  331. 11:32gel which is going to help to moisturize
  332. 11:33and soothe the skin or I'll mix it with
  333. 11:36a little bit of honey or even a little
  334. 11:38tumeric y'all know I love my tumeric and
  335. 11:40the reason why I like those combination
  336. 11:43is those three separate combinations
  337. 11:44it's because they really help with the
  338. 11:46healing of scars and wounds I found with
  339. 11:48the name oil or even the tea tree oil my
  340. 11:51boil area just starts to feel much
  341. 11:53better it almost feels like it's
  342. 11:54starting to heal much faster when I use
  343. 11:57them
  344. 11:57speaking of tumeric you should not be
  345. 12:00afraid of tumeric
  346. 12:01now y'all have seen me use it in a gang
  347. 12:03of videos and I know that tumeric can
  348. 12:05get messy biking styles that are already
  349. 12:07staying with tumeric and I don't let it
  350. 12:09get anywhere near my clothes also if
  351. 12:11you're gonna use tumeric maybe keep
  352. 12:13things around like little gloves or even
  353. 12:16paper towels so you don't have to deal
  354. 12:18with the cleanup after turmeric has very
  355. 12:20strong anti-inflammatory antimicrobial
  356. 12:22and antibacterial properties it can aid
  357. 12:26in reducing inflammation and they also
  358. 12:27help to prevent infection from forming
  359. 12:30y'all know I can get real extra with my
  360. 12:32tumeric mixes if you want to keep it
  361. 12:33real simple you can add a little bit of
  362. 12:35tumeric with a little bit of coconut oil
  363. 12:37or a carrier oil something like olive
  364. 12:40oil just something to give it a little
  365. 12:41bit of a nice rich property I apply that
  366. 12:44and leave it on that area for about 15
  367. 12:47minutes and let it dry now be careful
  368. 12:49because some people will find that their
  369. 12:50skin is so sensitive that turmeric does
  370. 12:52not sit well with them or they cannot
  371. 12:54leave it on the skin that long if it
  372. 12:56becomes too warm or it feels irritated
  373. 12:57wash it off and let your body calm down
  374. 13:00before you try it again so another great
  375. 13:02quick remedy is honey y'all know I love
  376. 13:05honey because honey is a humectant it
  377. 13:07puts moisture back into the skin and a
  378. 13:09lot of times when we get these boil
  379. 13:11scars or we get these wounds or things
  380. 13:13like that a big problem with them it's
  381. 13:15not only just keeping them dry first off
  382. 13:18you have to really err on the side of
  383. 13:19caution because you have to put moisture
  384. 13:22back into your skin so you have to watch
  385. 13:23it even though you want to keep the
  386. 13:25wound dry you want to make sure that the
  387. 13:27skin around it is staying moisturize so
  388. 13:30that you don't cause further irritation
  389. 13:31which as we know if you got the right
  390. 13:33type of skin it can cause more boils
  391. 13:35much like turmeric honey has also been
  392. 13:38used for its antimicrobial and
  393. 13:40anti-inflammatory properties as well
  394. 13:42honey also has antibacterial properties
  395. 13:45that could help with preventing
  396. 13:46infections so why you can do honey by
  397. 13:48itself you can also mix a little bit of
  398. 13:50honey with a little bit of tumeric I put
  399. 13:52all the exact amounts down below in the
  400. 13:54information section so with this
  401. 13:56powerful mixture I usually leave it on
  402. 13:57about 15 to 20 minutes and then I rinse
  403. 13:59it off completely now if your skin can
  404. 14:02take it here's some other quick remedies
  405. 14:05that are a lot stronger than the ones
  406. 14:07I've already mentioned so I'm trying to
  407. 14:08step it up for
  408. 14:09rubbing alcohol it's a strong
  409. 14:11disinfectant it helps to remove dirt and
  410. 14:14other materials from clogged pores and I
  411. 14:16know for me during flare-ups it helps to
  412. 14:19reduce a lot of pain and inflammation
  413. 14:20give it a test run make sure that your
  414. 14:23skin can handle the alcohol basically
  415. 14:25you just add it to a cotton pad and
  416. 14:27apply word of caution if you've ever
  417. 14:29felt how rubbing alcohol feels on a open
  418. 14:31wound oh my goodness you will be on fire
  419. 14:34so please avoid the open portion of a
  420. 14:37boil if it's closed
  421. 14:38I usually go over the whole boil however
  422. 14:40if it's open if unless you want to be on
  423. 14:42fire do it at your own risk
  424. 14:44but I'm very careful about making sure
  425. 14:46that skin is not broken open before I
  426. 14:48put rubbing alcohol on it a next strong
  427. 14:50and powerful one is apple cider vinegar
  428. 14:52while I don't find this one to be as
  429. 14:54powerful in terms of reducing the
  430. 14:57flare-ups I'd but I do find it that
  431. 14:59prevents a lot of bacteria from growing
  432. 15:00which reduces the probability that I'll
  433. 15:03get more boils that take a cotton pad
  434. 15:05with a little bit of the apple cider
  435. 15:06vinegar and I literally just let it sit
  436. 15:09on the area just like I would the
  437. 15:10heating pad what I find is especially
  438. 15:12when it's fresh and the skin is not
  439. 15:14broken
  440. 15:15I find a little relief in that it keeps
  441. 15:16that area clean and keeps a lot of that
  442. 15:18bacteria away this next one is big watch
  443. 15:21what you shave so we're moving hair from
  444. 15:24the underarms and the pubic area could
  445. 15:26help to reduce your flare-ups actually
  446. 15:28and a lot of research that I've done on
  447. 15:30it and with my own body keeping their
  448. 15:32hair gone more regularly has given me so
  449. 15:35much relief however I do not and will
  450. 15:39not shave if I have an act of flare-up
  451. 15:41you are not going to shave over a boil
  452. 15:43or won't and if shaving does not work
  453. 15:46for you for some it just does not make
  454. 15:48sure you go in to your doctor or
  455. 15:49dermatologist to find out the best move
  456. 15:52for you in terms of hair removal while I
  457. 15:53have a lot of videos with shading in
  458. 15:55them I can't even count them I have a
  459. 15:57recent one that's how to shave
  460. 15:58everywhere check that video out but I'm
  461. 16:01gonna go over just some quick tips in
  462. 16:02terms of Shaving especially when you
  463. 16:05have high dry tinnitus now again when
  464. 16:07you have a chest especially when it's
  465. 16:09active you might want to choose not to
  466. 16:10shave it can be a whole problem even
  467. 16:12when H s is not active but what I start
  468. 16:15off with when I do shave I like to
  469. 16:17ensure that the body has been fully
  470. 16:19exfoliated in all areas are clear of
  471. 16:22anger
  472. 16:22hairs or any problems with hair
  473. 16:25follicles things like that and that's a
  474. 16:27light exfoliation so I use things like
  475. 16:29loofahs or brushes or a nice sugar scrub
  476. 16:32I also use the best in a razor so for me
  477. 16:34my skin really likes the Schick Hydro
  478. 16:36silk which has a nice moisture band
  479. 16:38across it and the nice bikini trimmer on
  480. 16:41the other end which is electronic and I
  481. 16:43also use my mirror honey we have to
  482. 16:46check those hair follicles before we go
  483. 16:48over anything you want to make sure even
  484. 16:50if you don't feel it you're not shaving
  485. 16:51over anything that could be active and
  486. 16:53caused you problems and these blunted
  487. 16:55edge scissors are everything because you
  488. 16:58want to cut down the hair first and
  489. 17:00minimize the amount of times you have to
  490. 17:02pass that razor across your skin we know
  491. 17:04that with H s that can add extra
  492. 17:06difficulties in terms of what to shave
  493. 17:09with you want something nice and thick
  494. 17:10and rich that's going to condition the
  495. 17:12skin I either like suave coconut
  496. 17:14conditioner or my personal favorite
  497. 17:16which is the pure silk
  498. 17:19y'all know our rocks with this it's
  499. 17:20really thick and rich and it also has
  500. 17:22made sure that I have enough slip on my
  501. 17:25blade you definitely don't want to be
  502. 17:27cutting and scraping at all especially
  503. 17:30with HS you only want a nice thin layer
  504. 17:33as well because this is gonna serve as a
  505. 17:35guide for you it's gonna help you to see
  506. 17:37where you shaved and where you have not
  507. 17:39because you don't want to go over areas
  508. 17:41more times than needed remember our skin
  509. 17:44is very sensitive I also do the same
  510. 17:48practice between my legs up towards my
  511. 17:50pubic area and higher upper legs which
  512. 17:53we know can be prone to a lot of these
  513. 17:56boils when shaving make sure that you're
  514. 17:58going with the direction of your hair
  515. 18:00the way that it grows the way your hair
  516. 18:02grows that means you need to take time
  517. 18:04to investigate look and see what you're
  518. 18:06shaving and in what direction you need
  519. 18:08to shave in my hair tends to grow upward
  520. 18:10mostly and downward up towards that
  521. 18:13pubic region so you want to make sure
  522. 18:15you follow that guide and only shave up
  523. 18:18for the area once especially underneath
  524. 18:21the arms and up towards that pubic area
  525. 18:23or specifically in that area because we
  526. 18:26know that's where HS lives to minimize
  527. 18:29irritation make sure that you take your
  528. 18:31time and rinse off completely
  529. 18:32thoroughly with lukewarm water not hot
  530. 18:36water lukewarm and also use a cold
  531. 18:38compress if you should need it after you
  532. 18:40hop out of the shower or wherever you
  533. 18:43say I then make sure that I moisturize
  534. 18:44preferably with a non-sentient lotion
  535. 18:47and also with a little bit of oil to
  536. 18:49seal in the moisture I have a lot of
  537. 18:52remedies over on my video on how to
  538. 18:54shave and others that I've linked down
  539. 18:56below for you so check those out for
  540. 18:57aftershave remedies but I also make sure
  541. 19:00that I clean my razor with nice rubbing
  542. 19:03alcohol which is amazing for killing
  543. 19:05bacteria and I hang it somewhere or put
  544. 19:07it somewhere where it can stay dry and
  545. 19:10avoid bacteria I also like to change my
  546. 19:13heads of my razor about every five to
  547. 19:15six shades this is sure that it's clean
  548. 19:18and good to go
  549. 19:19the next thing is to maintain your
  550. 19:21hygiene showering daily is essential for
  551. 19:25a person prone to boils in hidradenitis
  552. 19:27you want to make sure that you're doing
  553. 19:28a daily wash of dirt and debris that
  554. 19:30ends up on your skin you want to use a
  555. 19:32non comedogenic body wash something
  556. 19:34that's not going to clog your pores you
  557. 19:36want to keep those pores nice and free
  558. 19:38you also want to get clear and hip on
  559. 19:40the products that you use outside of the
  560. 19:42shower so your lotions your oils your
  561. 19:44shampoos and your conditioners all of
  562. 19:46that can play a part in aggravating
  563. 19:48hidradenitis and boils
  564. 19:50let me get y'all some quick
  565. 19:51recommendations on the showering tip I
  566. 19:53ensure I bathe with a sponge or loofah
  567. 19:56and I use castile soap this is the most
  568. 19:59mild and gentle form of soap on my skin
  569. 20:02and I just love it
  570. 20:03I also like to make sure that I get
  571. 20:05those sensitive areas that are prone to
  572. 20:07HS like underneath the arms all in the
  573. 20:11areas in which you can sweat like
  574. 20:12underneath your breasts also be low all
  575. 20:16the way up and all the way down you want
  576. 20:18to make sure you're cleansing your skin
  577. 20:19fully I usually run through this two to
  578. 20:21three times to ensure my skin is clean
  579. 20:24and I'm only showering in lukewarm water
  580. 20:27hot water can serve as a huge irritant
  581. 20:30so stop boiling your skin clean yeah and
  582. 20:34you also want to make sure you rinse
  583. 20:36thoroughly and any items that you used
  584. 20:38to wash hang them where they can dry
  585. 20:41thoroughly and take your time and rinse
  586. 20:43those out when necessary as will you
  587. 20:45throw your Lula's and your sponges in
  588. 20:47the wash down below and my lady vì love
  589. 20:50to use honeypot which is a nice
  590. 20:52cleansing foaming wash that I find safe
  591. 20:55to use across my body does not irritate
  592. 20:57me and you can get it sent free I also
  593. 21:00use just my hands down there and I do
  594. 21:03not rub hard another thing to keep in
  595. 21:06mind is making sure your padding dry and
  596. 21:09as far as my towel use I only use my
  597. 21:12towels one to two times before throwing
  598. 21:15them in the wash to keep away from
  599. 21:17buildup of bacteria
  600. 21:19the next thing is eat more foods with
  601. 21:21zinc is no shock than most the videos we
  602. 21:23all see me cooking or making things I'm
  603. 21:26eating foods that are full of zinc zinc
  604. 21:28helps to reduce inflammation and
  605. 21:30swelling in your body
  606. 21:31foods with zinc include spinach lentils
  607. 21:34tofu chia seeds quinoa avocado almonds
  608. 21:39wasters crab lamb chickpeas black beans
  609. 21:42Greek yogurt cashews and even cheddar
  610. 21:45you all see me cooking with a lot of
  611. 21:47these things often you should also be
  612. 21:49making every effort to eat
  613. 21:51anti-inflammatory foods these help to
  614. 21:53reduce swelling and inflammation
  615. 21:54following that type of diet can
  616. 21:57definitely help with reducing flare-up
  617. 21:59and also may help to reduce active
  618. 22:01flare-ups more quickly some of the
  619. 22:02things high on the list of
  620. 22:04anti-inflammatory foods include cinnamon
  621. 22:06salmon walnuts green tea ginger dark
  622. 22:10chocolate Whaley fish fresh fruits and
  623. 22:12vegetables and sources of healthy fats
  624. 22:14like nuts and seeds another thing that
  625. 22:17you should know in your quick list is to
  626. 22:18keep your wounds protected when the
  627. 22:20boils start to heal and scar over one of
  628. 22:23the best things in order to keep your
  629. 22:24scarring minimal is to make sure they're
  630. 22:26moisturized and they're covered
  631. 22:28especially when you're going to be out
  632. 22:29in the Sun make sure that you're
  633. 22:31cleaning that wound daily you want to
  634. 22:33keep it clean covered and you also want
  635. 22:35to keep it more moisturized with
  636. 22:36something like an antibiotic ointment I
  637. 22:39love making sure that I keep my wound
  638. 22:41wash around for just this purpose and as
  639. 22:43it gets older you want to keep it Sun
  640. 22:45protected so you'll want to add
  641. 22:47something like a SPF I love the Mederma
  642. 22:50with SPF in it because Mederma helps to
  643. 22:53heal wounds and scars but it also can
  644. 22:55have as
  645. 22:56you have to buy the one with the SPF
  646. 22:58other than that I love the Mederma
  647. 23:00nighttime in the regular mederma those
  648. 23:02are great gels and lotions to ensure
  649. 23:04that your body is starting to heal
  650. 23:05correctly I promise y'all that it's been
  651. 23:07major key for me
  652. 23:08so y'all there's also deeper and more
  653. 23:10long-term treatment as well in one of my
  654. 23:13recent videos I showed you guys how to
  655. 23:14make an oil in a butter in order for you
  656. 23:17to have the most healing properties
  657. 23:19possible it's just something for you to
  658. 23:20try and if you're interested in seeing
  659. 23:22that video in full which is all about
  660. 23:23getting rid of scars wounds and how to
  661. 23:26make sure that you get rid of dark marks
  662. 23:28and hyperpigmentation caused by the
  663. 23:30scarring check it out at the link down
  664. 23:32below in the description box and I'll
  665. 23:34make sure I'll link it in this video is
  666. 23:35so on in this video when the note of
  667. 23:37everyday fix it's just some quick common
  668. 23:40things you can do that might seem small
  669. 23:42in nature but they help a whole lot one
  670. 23:45thing is wearing more breathable
  671. 23:46clothing options I found with more
  672. 23:48breathable clothing options my body is
  673. 23:50able to feel free feel more easy and
  674. 23:52breezy not as much chance for those
  675. 23:54sweat glands to flare up or those
  676. 23:56clogged pores and my body feels amazing
  677. 23:59you know it's not always about fashion
  678. 24:00with me you guys love my flowy dresses
  679. 24:02I'm a flower child look however is also
  680. 24:05for my health a lot of the tight-fitting
  681. 24:06things that are gonna call chafing and
  682. 24:08rubbing against the body are not good
  683. 24:10for my skin remember to keep the area
  684. 24:12dry especially when a boil or wound is
  685. 24:15open if it stays moist it's gonna
  686. 24:17promote the growth of fungus and also
  687. 24:19bacteria if you smoke stop that's it
  688. 24:22that's all on that one because smoking
  689. 24:23is said to help in the aid of flare-up
  690. 24:25keep your clothes towels and shower area
  691. 24:28very clean I wash things often because
  692. 24:30bacteria build up especially as a person
  693. 24:33who works out a lot or even not can
  694. 24:36cause a lot of flare-ups and last but
  695. 24:39certainly not least and let me tell you
  696. 24:41this is not about fat shaming this is
  697. 24:43not about telling you everything is due
  698. 24:45to gaining weight now a lot of science
  699. 24:47and research does not say that this will
  700. 24:49work for everybody but it will certainly
  701. 24:51work for some naturally working on your
  702. 24:53body weight and keeping it at a healthy
  703. 24:55level for you will reduce a lot of
  704. 24:57chafing a lot of rubbing together a lot
  705. 25:00of clogged pores a lot of sweating all
  706. 25:02things that add to hidradenitis and boil
  707. 25:05flare-ups so it may be a good idea to
  708. 25:07start to work through the pain
  709. 25:09and try to exercise a little bit to get
  710. 25:11your body size down as much as you can
  711. 25:13in order to avoid a lot of the sweating
  712. 25:15and extra moisture it might be something
  713. 25:17that puts you ahead of the game I know
  714. 25:19that it was great for me to do I'm not
  715. 25:21saying it's gonna necessarily work and
  716. 25:22cure all your problems but it might be a
  717. 25:24part of the solution so I hope today has
  718. 25:26been beneficial for you guys I know that
  719. 25:29hidradenitis suppurativa talks can be
  720. 25:30hard especially if you don't know what's
  721. 25:32going on with your body and you don't
