8:18trying to do a podcast for five years so

8:27from jail literally went from solitary
8:29confinement podcast to my favorite in
8:32the world so literally I just don't
8:34believe I'm here so seriously thank you
8:36guys like super super cool yeah huge
8:38fans what was that one called the one
8:40that you were doing
8:41wow so we have these pay phones and we
8:44got these 15-minute phone calls
8:46but you had to wait 30 minutes between
8:48each call
8:49so I had this podcast host essentially
8:51fly to my buddy's house and I was
8:53calling in all day
8:55we released a trailer on my Instagram I
8:57have like zero followers like literally
8:59and an hour after the trailer comes out
9:01they take me out of my cell and put me
9:03in solitary confinement for seven months
9:05because seven months because you're
9:07doing the podcast because I tried to do
9:09a podcast so did you get I thought you
9:11completed an episode or a few right uh I
9:13think they launched one episode from
9:14solitary but I had no idea what was
9:16going on and didn't you know you were
9:18gonna get caught though like once it got
9:20out like I was so stupid like
9:24what was the podcast about so I was
9:27trying to tell like the past stories got
9:29it and I felt like hey I could make a
9:31couple dollars pay some restitution from
9:32jail like no one pays restitution get to
9:36work on the rest of the team yeah I
9:38think that shit's a lot of [ __ ] weird
9:39yeah it's gonna take me away why not
9:42start now what was solitary confinement
9:45like did brutal so first of all it's
9:48like this long concrete hallway of these
9:51nine by eight cells so I'm all alone to
9:53myself and a lawyer starts complaining
9:55after a few weeks of being alone he's
9:57like all right McFarland you want a
9:58selly yeah yeah no problem I hear these
10:01guys screaming their metal doors oh you
10:03got bags you got bags so I have no idea
10:06who bags is this guy comes in he's like
10:08hey I'm bags they call me bags because
10:10they got a lot of money I hear all these
10:12guys screaming that's not true that's
10:13not true so the guy got into a shootout
10:16with the cops and lost his colon but
10:18they never gave him like the Cullen
10:20backs it's like this is literally my bed
10:22and that's a toilet he has to [ __ ] every
10:2430 minutes around the clock but so it's
10:26not solitary so you're not by yourself
10:28so you did I did half the time by myself
10:30and half the time with a cell mate but
10:31you can't leave yourself so this guy's
10:33literally taking a [ __ ] every 30 minutes
10:34for like two months Around the Clock
10:36just right next to him where I'm
10:37slipping holy [ __ ] you never get any
10:40daylight at all that's what solitary is
10:41due to covid they let us go to a cage
10:44outside that was you know the size of
10:46this set for one hour once a week so for
10:48six days you couldn't leave and you did
10:50all seven months seven months yeah
10:52straight out what does that like what
10:54what does that do to your mind that's
10:56like a scary [ __ ]
10:57like I think the worst part how do you
11:00get through that yeah just like not
11:01knowing when it was going to end yeah
11:03and like the cops would [ __ ] with you
11:04it's like how long am I gonna be here
11:06like oh you're never getting out of here
11:07McFarland like [ __ ] you so it's like
11:09like the mental mind [ __ ] and you just
11:11start thinking the whole world is
11:13against you and I have nothing but like
11:16I would have bet almost every single one
11:18of those days that I wasn't getting out
11:19because like you have no one to bounce
11:21your ideas off of right so like you
11:22start just going crazy yeah so yeah
11:24being here well so we're [ __ ] wild
11:26what'd you do while you were in there I
11:28wrote you know learn to meditate read a
11:30lot and dude this guy [ __ ] every 30
11:33minutes yeah and like we tried to put
11:35together a game plan for what they want
11:36to do yep dodging uh dodging bags shout
11:39out to bags he's a great guy but so his
11:41bags still locked up all right back's
11:43got out surely before me so I hope he's
11:45doing well he's probably [ __ ] right
11:47now I hope he's watching especially
11:48right now
11:50so we gotta we obviously we gotta take
11:52it back to you know everything that I
11:53kind of had happened for sure but guys
11:55can I try happy Dad by the way yeah yeah
11:56absolutely what uh what what is it like
11:59when you're you know that you're Googled
12:01and the first thing that comes up it
12:02says you're a con artist
12:05what is that like because how do you do
12:06business and how do you move forward and
12:08yeah you know like how would you create
12:09a deal with someone now where it's like
12:11they know your past they know your
12:13history which we'll get into I'm
12:14assuming I'm sure I guess goes on but
12:16that right away I'm like you know if I
12:18was gonna do business with you or do
12:19anything with you on Google and it's
12:20like oh this guy's a con artist you know
12:23so it's I've literally been out for just
12:25over two months August 30th yeah it's
12:28like my completion of my sentence damn
12:31yeah so
12:32I was sheltered in so many ways right
12:34because I was in jail for just around
12:37four years
12:38a lot of that in solitary a lot of that
12:40with no box to a phone or any like
12:41outside communication so I never saw
12:44these documentaries like I wasn't on
12:45Google and I talked to friends and
12:48they're like dude it's going to take you
12:51longer and people longer to like come to
12:52terms with what happened and I'm like
12:54trying to recognize it I had five years
12:56like since all this went to [ __ ] to like
12:59feel my own remorse but I just missed
13:02like this whole Title Wave of [ __ ]
13:04like I wasn't there to read the DMS And
13:06The Angry emails right and like friends
13:07and family were so that's been like a
13:09big eye-opener to me I'm like oh I'm
13:11gonna walk out and people are gonna
13:12remember like I can program and I can
13:13market so I'm gonna do something cool
13:15but it's like oh wait I missed years and
13:18years of just backlash yeah
13:21so what is it like getting that backlash
13:22now
13:23like how do you move forward are you
13:25meant does it mentally [ __ ] you up or
13:26are you just like
13:28I mean in some respect it's like super
13:29super motivating yeah and I think that
13:32just meeting with childhood friends like
13:34since getting out of jail has been the
13:36biggest mind [ __ ]
13:38I think in like some respects
13:40even people who I was close with were
13:43almost like happy to see the punishment
13:46I had to go through because they're like
13:48hey we did everything right we didn't
13:49break the rules we went to college like
13:51we didn't [ __ ] up and like why did you
13:53why were you able to do this kind of
13:54thing and we weren't because they were
13:55almost like happy to see me down and a
13:57lot of the advice I get from those
13:58people is like dude you just can't do
14:00anything and it's like they try to
14:02assign you took the most menial tasks
14:05whereas you talk to more like
14:06entrepreneurial people and it's like if
14:08you just go for it but go for it
14:09honestly there's no shame so if you fail
14:12the next time but you do it like
14:13ethically right and you don't let
14:15anybody you don't hurt anybody like
14:16[ __ ] go and do it yeah it takes me
14:18like this weird like trying to
14:20understand like people's motivations and
14:22realizing that very few people out there
14:24can like give you advice that's best for
14:26you like they give you advice that is
14:27best for them what they think is
14:30possible like very few people even the
14:32ones who love you are often like the
14:33most restrained at least in my
14:35perspective in terms of giving you good
14:37advice did a lot of people cut ties with
14:39you for sure and the weirdest thing is
14:42like who did and who didn't and so many
14:44who I thought would like be there every
14:46day just totally disappear and said [ __ ]
14:48off and people who I thought would be
14:49the first to run didn't so once again
14:51like
14:52total crazy learning experience when did
14:54you watch so you said you didn't see the
14:55documentary when did you actually see it
14:57I never watched them you've never seen
14:59it no I just watched it for the first
15:00time oh really on the way how bad I mean
15:03I don't know it's pretty entertaining
15:04okay well aren't you curious to see like
15:05you lost some weight you look good yeah
15:07that was so fat oh it was bad you did
15:09lose weight don't you want to see like
15:11maybe what you think is inaccurate in
15:12there yeah so I think like when they
15:14came out I was really early on in my
15:17sentence and my initial reaction would
15:19have been like oh that's not true that's
15:20true and like I don't want to be in that
15:22mindset where I just couldn't do
15:24anything about it so I just like try to
15:26protect myself whether right or wrong I
15:27think that was my initial response I
15:30mean you're having a good time in there
15:31yeah like you're partying you're with
15:33models and you're in a jet ski a lot on
15:35a yacht yeah I guess like in your words
15:37what really happened what really went
15:39wrong so like if you can take it back a
15:41little bit Yeah I think that would be
15:42yeah so yeah what made you want to like
15:45do that so I started just like
15:48programming when I was really young I
15:50was like 9 or 10 years old
15:51and I almost like viewed it as this
15:53world with very little rules and I kept
15:57saying like hey there's this huge
15:58problem and if I keep trying to push
16:00this problem I can push like what was
16:01possible
16:02start a couple companies in middle
16:04school and high school sold them went to
16:07college and basically ran out of the
16:09cash that I got from selling my early
16:10companies my first semester of college
16:12I'm like [ __ ] wait you said you sold a
16:14company in middle school yeah started my
16:16first company in seventh grade sold it
16:18and then you sell it in seventh grade so
16:21I had a company called your hot site
16:22it's a funny story I tried to create
16:24like a private social network for middle
16:26schools
16:27so I did it from middle school and five
16:29days after it launched had like you know
16:30just like the local Middle School
16:31buzzing the principal basically called
16:33and it's like internet's unsafe you got
16:35to get rid of this website so I went and
16:37put it up for auction online sold the
16:40site and years later when I was applying
16:41for college it was on my resume and like
16:43the dean of the school was applying for
16:45pulls it up on his computer and had been
16:47sold a couple times since then it became
16:48like this porn site like this porn
16:49social networking site what did you sell
16:51it for originally so it wasn't much that
16:53was a couple thousand dollars but there
16:54were some there were some settings
16:59at that point yeah so that was fun and
17:03just started getting bigger and bigger
17:04and then basically went to college with
17:06you know a couple dollars in a suitcase
17:07and just like went wild and just didn't
17:10know like what I could do with with
17:11money right and blew all of it in the
17:13first semester it's like [ __ ] I gotta
17:15get back to programming and that started
17:17you know this eight year run of what
17:19would eventually become fire in prison
17:21and then being here
17:23wait price okay I'm just picturing you
17:25rocking like a Louis Vuitton backpack I
17:27didn't know what that was you went
17:29really far from like Middle School to
17:30like college and that's a very long time
17:32like what other companies what other
17:33involvements did you have that you
17:35actually made money from the credit card
17:36yeah the credit card so before all that
17:38in in high school I guess my biggest win
17:40before College was a company called 24
17:42scene I love the TV show 24. so I made a
17:45Content Network where basically people
17:47could like share and discuss their
17:48favorite things about 24. ended up like
17:51replicating that across like a dozen TV
17:52shows and sold to a company called buddy
17:55TV out of Seattle I was 15. but I wasn't
17:58old enough to like have a bank account
17:59and like my PayPal account was shut down
18:02because it was underage
18:03so I had this like essential middleman
18:05partner who took the money and he would
18:07Western Union me cash every two weeks so
18:09throughout like the last two years of my
18:11high school I would like you know go to
18:12the hood or go to this Western Union and
18:14like get my cash and save it up until
18:16college and that really set me off
18:19oh damn Hustler from early and then how
18:22did you like what started fire so before
18:26fire I started a company called magnesis
18:28and what I was trying to do was build a
18:31black card that was more relevant for
18:33young kids in cities I was 22 years old
18:36like doing a startup in New York and all
18:38the AmEx like travel business perks just
18:40like weren't relevant to me yet like I
18:42just wasn't there yet in my life
18:44so I wanted a black card couldn't get it
18:46but I also wanted a black card that was
18:48more relevant for me so I went in
18:50Alibaba before it was really like
18:51mainstream and bought this like sheet of
18:54black metal and just bought like a
18:55Credit Card Copier literally off Alibaba
18:57I was in the office for my first startup
18:59I just copied like my shitty blue like
19:01Chase debit card with like 80 bucks on
19:03it onto this black card went and used at
19:06the pizza place across the street and
19:07the guy's like behind the counter
19:08dropping it looking up in the air like
19:10oh this thing's [ __ ] sweet and I was
19:12in the second ever we work at the time
19:14so I started showing the card off to all
19:16the companies in the we work and people
19:17wanted to buy it and like magnesis was
19:19just born before I knew it I was selling
19:21these black cards open up a couple of
19:24spaces for members to connect and just
19:25started building a company they were
19:26just cards that were just based off of
19:27existing cards yeah so like the cool
19:29part was like we took no Financial Risk
19:31and you could have your Amex with
19:33whatever your limit on it was or you
19:35could have your Chase card with 20 bucks
19:36just visually look cooler too right what
19:39we got perks too so we had a physical
19:40space in New York where people can come
19:43and like hang out and like get together
19:44work parties then we partner with a lot
19:47of venues and Brands so like a venue
19:49would come to us and say hey we'd love
19:50to host your members for you know a
19:52nightclub night a concert you know a
19:54fitness class whatever they would pay us
19:56we would get a cool experience and
19:57Market to our customers
20:01and that was your that was your more
20:02successful business yeah so Magnus was
20:04going like magnesis did real Revenue at
20:06the time and fire like slowly came out
20:10of magnesis and it really started from
20:12two ways one I got a call from one of
20:15our people who was working at the
20:16townhouse and she's like hey this guy's
20:18here he works at townhouse it was like I
20:20remember sorry it was like our member
20:21space for magnesis okay she's like this
20:23guy's here he works at Google he says he
20:25flies planes and I kind of believe him
20:27like you got to come by so went and met
20:29this guy and you know still friends this
20:31day like the smartest guy I've ever met
20:33he's like yeah I had this little
20:35four-seater airplane and got like six
20:37buddies to do too uh we do trips to like
20:39random Caribbean islands like you should
20:40totally do it for your members
20:42so I'm like oh so this is where the idea
20:44this is where it all started so I'm like
20:45[ __ ] it let's go like this is amazing
20:46I've never been on a four-seater
20:47airplane before and we just take this
20:49Caravan of four planes like a dozen of
20:52our magnesis customers and a couple of
20:53my friends and we start finding these
20:55islands that like I didn't know existed
20:57yeah and couldn't have found on the map
20:59like this is so [ __ ] cool it's like
21:02love the adventure of like Landing in a
21:04country in the middle of nowhere it's
21:06like making it our playground
21:07and so many of the people we were
21:09bringing were just like getting together
21:10like forming businesses like creating
21:12new relationships and just really
21:14bonding over these adventures and
21:15experiences what were you going and
21:17doing there at that point like you guys
21:18were just going to the islands and
21:19chilling island hopping boating around
21:21scuba diving freediving snorkeling it's
21:23like you know more like adventury like
21:25outdoorsy [ __ ] but I don't know what I
21:26was doing so it's more just like hey how
21:28can we just push the limits and and see
21:30what we can get away with and so how'd
21:31you how'd you meet Ja Rule
21:33so as a way to get back to uh a lot of
21:36the magnesis members we started booking
21:38music artists for concerts yeah and just
21:40like I'm sure you guys have way way more
21:42experience but just realized how
21:43backwards the entire industry was I
21:45would just be going through so many
21:47middlemen who were promising me like
21:48artist X for X dollars and it was all it
21:51was all a facade you know you go through
21:53six guys who claim to be the manager but
21:55they might know someone who doesn't
21:56really know someone it was like this
21:58terrible like really backwards business
22:00so I'm like [ __ ] I can make this [ __ ]
22:02super transparent let me just make an
22:04app and I can have artists get a
22:06notification on their phone for real
22:07offers and just like say yes or no that
22:09was how fire was kind of fun we're
22:11artists like on board for that yeah like
22:13wait if you entered artists on fire
22:16um a few other artists they were not
22:17exclusive so they had regular like
22:18record labels or agencies or whatever we
22:20were just like incremental income to it
22:22and we had a dozen artists that were
22:24exclusive to fire which basically meant
22:26that if you called one of these artists
22:27in theory they were supposed to send you
22:29through our app to book them
22:31and did that ever happen yeah so the
22:33fire app was going for like six months
22:35and my biggest problem was like I just
22:37couldn't get away from the Bahamas I
22:39loved it and I kept doing these magnesis
22:41member trips and started bringing some
22:43of fires artists and I had a high school
22:45friend with me there one weekend and
22:47he's like dude No One Believes it you're
22:49doing this like this is incredible and
22:51we said that the best way to invite
22:52everybody would be to do a festival so
22:54the world's worst idea yeah all this
22:57came from like almost like this
22:59insecurity to prove that I was actually
23:01here on this island with nobody and I
23:03just wanted to share that with the world
23:04so what were the first steps when you're
23:06like yo I'm gonna have this music
23:07festival here yeah what did you go do
23:09initially like how did that start so
23:12like just like maybe the time I was 24
23:14and I knew how to build websites so it's
23:16like I can build a website in a week if
23:18it doesn't work no one cares right like
23:20the idea flops and no one gets hurt so I
23:22applied that same like Tech logic to
23:25trying to build a city in the middle of
23:27nowhere and it was just so stupid it
23:29just didn't work yeah because you're
23:30involving people it obviously makes it
23:31much better situation I just I just
23:33didn't know how to like extrapolate like
23:35okay a website the user can't log in no
23:37one's hurt whereas like hey now I'm
23:39trying to house thousands of people in
23:41the middle of nowhere for three or four
23:43days it's different different so like I
23:44said earlier what do you think the
23:45biggest issue was like in your
23:46perspective just like the logistics of
23:49it so we'll get into it but like yeah
23:50I've certainly like I'd lie to investors
23:53to get money and like morally ethically
23:54as a human like totally the most [ __ ]
23:57up part yeah but the worst like business
24:00decision was time yeah I was like what
24:02the [ __ ] bro I can make that so quick I
24:04don't know what I was thinking what was
24:05the time was the time it was months yeah
24:07we launched like a trailer to see if
24:09anybody would care and like it kind of
24:11worked and I'm like all right in four
24:12months we're doing this [ __ ] why did you
24:15do that four months and they're like
24:16dude like it takes longer than that to
24:17drills that's like pretty impossible
24:21right yeah totally
24:23did you have anyone at the time who was
24:25like yo this you shouldn't do this like
24:27you shouldn't move this fast or like
24:29it's not going to work this way like was
24:30there anyone trying to like speak logic
24:32in that sense for sure but I was kind of
24:34caught up in this mindset that like we
24:36have to go really fast and the downside
24:38is there's great artists and a beautiful
24:40location but it's not perfect and it
24:42didn't comprehend the downside is that
24:45people can't stay there it's just like
24:47not ready I just like didn't understand
24:48the downside and it's terrible how many
24:51people was meant were meant to go and
24:53attend in the beginning so the festival
24:56is supposed to host 3 000 people per
24:58weekend and there were two weekends I
25:00made anywhere from two person to eight
25:01person tents
25:03and then when did The Villas come in
25:05because those didn't exist did they
25:07there were Villas and like I guess like
25:10this is kind of why I didn't watch
25:11documentaries I guess like dude I made
25:13so many mistakes but we literally like
25:15hired this former Navy SEAL guy to like
25:18take a map of the island and all the
25:19neighboring islands like Mark It Up by
25:22quadrant and he went out with a team of
25:24like a photographer like a money guy and
25:26him and he would go house to house offer
25:28to send like the local family on
25:30vacation for two weeks signed a contract
25:32on the spot like took pictures got the
25:34keys and we had 200 Villas and we
25:37literally had like this cardboard box
25:38with a bunch of keys in an Excel
25:40document and when the planes were
25:42Landing like
25:44it sounds crazy the guy with the keys in
25:46the village just disappeared
25:47so damn was there any idiots that showed
25:49up for weekend too yeah because there
25:52had to be someone that's a good question
25:56oh my God holy [ __ ] how did you assemble
26:00like the greatest
26:01influencer group of girls of all time
26:03yeah yeah that must have been kind of
26:05dope yeah who was it
26:07rogerkowski Kendall Jenner and I know
26:09that no Kendall Jenner wasn't in the
26:11shoot list yeah
26:13she wasn't on the island for the shoot
26:15though but um how was that like with all
26:17those chicks was that like the first
26:18time you've ever like hung out with like
26:19supermodels like that so or were you
26:21always like real on like I mean dude
26:23what was crazy just how fast things came
26:25together like sure we had artists there
26:27we would have you know a couple of
26:29friends of friends who were there and
26:30you know there would be some models or
26:32whatever but we went on one of these
26:33trips and we're like we need to do the
26:35best like campaign of all time so I
26:37remember calling IMG like I'm just like
26:39in my office back in New York after a
26:40great weekend in the Bahamas and I'm
26:42like I want Bella Hadid and you know
26:44Haley Baldwin and the guy just [ __ ]
26:45laughs at me on the phone he's like like
26:47you are so stupid like you have no idea
26:49what you're talking about so kind of go
26:51down the list and just start calling
26:52other agencies until one says yes and
26:54you know agrees to send a handful of it
26:57really good you know really nice great
26:59models they went in the trip and they
27:01come back to New York the next week just
27:02saying like it was the best work trip
27:04they've ever had and three weeks later
27:06the same people that laughed at me were
27:07like calling you know sending girls for
27:09casting sending their roster like
27:10begging to have their talent come so
27:12literally like in a matter of weeks
27:14because of this amazing Island went from
27:16being like laughed off the phone to we
27:18just couldn't handle like the database
27:20of talent who wanted to come to the
27:21island like we were literally definitely
27:23I crushed the marketing people away yeah
27:25so I mean marketing was great but like
27:26Logistics like before that shoot like
27:29were you guys marketing it the whole
27:30time were you just like bringing chicks
27:31bringing people and like just partying
27:34and chitter or like it was super
27:36adventurous and like there's something
27:38about and and I was so reckless in a way
27:40that it's like I will never be again but
27:42there's something about fear that just
27:44breaks your walls down it breaks people
27:46together you just go and do crazy [ __ ]
27:48whether it's like what like you go up in
27:50the airplane you turn an engine off and
27:51so you float around with zero gravity
27:53and you're trying to like drink out of
27:54your teal a bottle so it's like I don't
27:55care if you're Haley Bieber or you know
27:57sure whatever guy from the street in New
27:59York like you're gonna be best [ __ ]
28:01friends as soon as you land like
28:02celebrating like life together and this
28:04aspect of it's like doing crazy [ __ ]
28:06realizing that everything you told you
28:09can just do way more it just brings
28:10people together just so cool
28:12you seem like to push the limits yeah
28:14but yeah so what was it like
28:15specifically that trip with like the
28:17campaign shoot yeah there was like six
28:19campaign shoots and this each one kept
28:21getting bigger and bigger and it went
28:23from like these four tiny airplanes with
28:25you know random magnesis members too
28:28you know all the stupid [ __ ] and bad
28:30decisions like all the crazy Jets and
28:31crazy planes and Yachts to you know in
28:33the matter of weeks
28:34I mean all the girls are probably like
28:36who is this guy yeah I mean it's out
28:38here yeah it's all this did you try to
28:39shoot your shot at any of them or oh
28:41something so hard
28:43it was every man was bad like literally
28:46like going to jail to get laid like did
28:50you get any did you pull any I mean like
28:52I hope you can respect like you know
28:53yeah of course I didn't tell anybody to
28:55get out of jail so I'm not gonna you
28:56know not gonna write these girls out but
28:57uh but it's like I was just trying way
29:00too hard and like now I see guys doing
29:01that scene was probably going harder
29:03yeah
29:07but you were gonna say you see now you
29:09see guys doing the same thing you're
29:11talking about like yeah it's like yeah
29:12on social and everywhere else and it's
29:14like I can just like see and maybe I'm
29:16wrong but like they're not happy you
29:18know which guys are you talking about
29:19like you can't be the guy subsidizing 80
29:21people on a weekend and legitimately
29:23having fun yeah it's like never like
29:25paying for everyone you're just not
29:27having fun like that guy's a loser at
29:28the end of the day sure you might like
29:29go home to the biggest bank balance but
29:31like yeah something's wrong and like I
29:33didn't understand that like I thought it
29:34was the man and because I could call
29:36someone have a yacht there in 20 minutes
29:37no I was the biggest [ __ ] loser and
29:39it took like really failing to learn
29:41that and I just I see that in other
29:43people now it's like dude I just know
29:44you're not happy
29:45it's like you can't get there like that
29:47you want to name any of those people
29:48sorry you want to name anything no no
29:50man I just kind of I'm curious I mean
29:52I'm sure you've all experienced that in
29:54your life and yeah I'm sure there's
29:55plenty of guys who try to you know suck
29:57up to you and offer you the world what

30:08but if you if you look at like you know
30:10all the guys who really went crazy hard

30:20wake up on Monday with their own
30:22problems they don't give a [ __ ] that you
30:23bought him a [ __ ] plane or a boat and
30:25what's gonna happen in six months that
30:26guy's dead yeah so I'm curious when you
30:29started doing this how did you go about
30:30reaching out to artists and how did you
30:32get them on board
30:33because of magnesis like we had done
30:36dozens of concerts like super super
30:37small these are like nightclub venues
30:39with a couple hundred people yeah so
30:41just met you know a lot of like hip-hop
30:43artists and managers just through
30:45magnesis so that was kind of how I had
30:48the first artist for fire got it did
30:50they want to see the grounds or like the
30:51stage or anything or we were bringing
30:53them like oh they were coming out every
30:55other weekend for the four months we
30:57were running a trip and for the last two
30:59months I pretty much lived there so like
31:00it was non-stop people were coming and
31:02like I could Master the 20-person trip
31:05and like give you a great time sure so
31:07like you would come be like this is
31:08[ __ ] amazing yeah but then 3 000
31:10people came and I was a [ __ ] yeah
31:13what's what celebrities did any
31:15celebrities actually show up so there's
31:18been so many stories and you know I've
31:19heard so many rumors about this or that
31:21there were 30 artists scheduled to
31:23perform 28 of the 30 were paid in full
31:26neither two were paid for the first
31:28weekend not the second weekend so
31:29everybody was paid to be there for that
31:31first weekend as far as I know one
31:34artist canceled before and that was
31:35Blink-182 and they were also they were
31:37paid for that weekend area uh they were
31:39one of the headliners yes but as far as
31:41I know everybody else was either there
31:42or coming until the festival was
31:45canceled
31:46who are some of the other big names
31:47yachty so uh good music was headlining
31:51one night uh major laser disclosure
31:53Migos little yachty Rae Sremmurd Migos
31:57would have been pissed there
32:00I mean it's not their fault like you
32:02know we were we were certainly
32:03overpaying and I mean look the marketing
32:06was great like
32:07what artist would say no right we were
32:08just giving them a big check the money
32:10was good at the time and like who
32:12wouldn't want to come to this amazing
32:13Island so you can't blame the artist at
32:15all what's the biggest lesson this whole
32:16thing taught you dude the process
32:19and the trust it's like
32:21I had this crazy credit system where it
32:24took like seven or eight years of me
32:26just like getting [ __ ] on and working so
32:27hard for people to trust me yeah or I
32:29could just call and like get what I
32:31needed to try to run a business and all
32:33that just got ruined in one night
32:35so it's like you can just like work for
32:36so long and just didn't [ __ ] matter
32:38it's like that's seven years of eating
32:39[ __ ] at the end of the day just meant
32:41nothing was there any point in that that
32:43period where you were starting to be
32:44where you were starting to freak out and
32:46be like holy [ __ ] this is going to be a
32:47miracle like to pull off
32:49so dude like life was terrible in like
32:52the last couple months leading up to it
32:53all the bills were going crazy we spent
32:55you know 20-ish million dollars in in
32:58four months trying to do this festival
32:59and I'd wake up in the morning to like
33:01an Excel document saying like here is
33:03how much money we need today or else
33:05this Festival isn't it canceled so I'd
33:07wake up and be like okay I gotta go find
33:09three million dollars by 2 pm so we can
33:11wire it back out before how are you
33:13convincing people to give you all this
33:14money so like I think that's the biggest
33:16misconception is that like I woke up one
33:17day gave some false numbers in a
33:19spreadsheet people gave me 20ish million
33:22dollars like yes I certainly lied and
33:24made that false spreadsheet but it was
33:26seven or eight years of these investors
33:29seeing me work and building that trust I
33:31think that's like the most [ __ ] up
33:32thing that I learned is like that's all
33:33for for not oh I see so it wasn't like
33:37it was just all at one time no it was
33:39I've known you for seven years so if I'm
33:42telling you like this idea is better and
33:44you gave me a million before I need five
33:45million now it's much different
33:47conversation than like waking up and
33:48knocking someone's door and asking for
33:50money then why do you think they pressed
33:52you so hard for it at the end and why
33:53they make it like a real like conviction
33:54right because like wouldn't it have been
33:56like if they knew you over time then
33:57it's like you're taking in most
33:59investment opportunities you know you're
34:00taking risk but I lied I just didn't
34:02have to lie got it no I said we were
34:04doing better than we were like dude it's
34:06super simple it's like if I have been
34:07honest and said look here's what our
34:09real numbers are and here's what we need
34:10I would have gotten more help I
34:12seriously think I would have been able
34:13to raise more money without like the
34:15[ __ ] numbers yeah that's crazy as it
34:17sounds it was like too good to be true
34:18right yeah and people were a little
34:19weary what's the status of that like do
34:21you have to pay that money back or like
34:23yeah so I have a question with that 26
34:25million in restitution that needs to get
34:28paid back to investors and then buy a
34:30certain date or no I think it's like you
34:32gotta have lifetime for that for the
34:33rest of my life right right so how does
34:35that work so it's like say if you made a
34:36million dollars how much that goes to
34:37restitution 100 of it because like how
34:39do you even like do your living expenses
34:41and you know dude the problem is like so
34:43many people are going to be eating off
34:45of everything I earn for a very long
34:48time whether it's like tax taxes or
34:49lawsuits or restitution yeah so it's
34:51like it's been two months and I have no
34:54idea like what the percentages are going
34:56to be yet but it's going to be you know
34:58something something
35:00yeah I think I saw there was like 100
35:03investors out of any of them do are any
35:05of them still like supportive or so the
35:07craziest [ __ ] thing happened after I
35:10did like his first like social media
35:11post a couple of weeks ago this one
35:14investor was super mad and wrote a
35:16letter to the judge at sentencing
35:17basically saying anything less than a
35:19life sentence will be a tragedy they
35:22send me this like glowing DM like trying
35:24to hang out and get back together
35:27yeah it's like how do you like as a
35:30human how am I supposed to like
35:32internalize that like I'm sitting there
35:33in front of my family and friends this
35:35letter is being read The Judd is reading
35:37this letter this person is saying this
35:39kid needs a life sentence he ruined my
35:41family he ruined this and this was years
35:42ago years ago and then two weeks ago I
35:44post a tick tock video now they're
35:46trying to get together it's like this is
35:47yours how much time did you actually do
35:50because I know you got four years four
35:51years do you think that's Justified
35:55I think I'm super lucky to have been in
35:57New York
35:58um you know all like all the big big
36:00dogs are in New York these the banks and
36:02these hedge funds who are dealing with
36:03numbers that I've never seen before are
36:04all there I think I'm lucky in terms of
36:06where I was and if I was elsewhere it
36:08could have been a lot worse why because
36:09they're easier on those type of crimes
36:10here you're saying I think it's more
36:11used to it right and like my dollar
36:13figures here aren't going to shock
36:15anybody but like if I'm in Minnesota
36:17like you know you're the big fish in
36:20town but here compared to all the in the
36:22mega Banks hedge funds I'm irrelevant so
36:25I was lucky to be in New York yeah
36:26however dude four years is a lot of time
36:28it's like I missed half my 20s right
36:30like obviously deserved it but dude you
36:32lose 25 through 30 it's like to [ __ ]
36:35see if you unfortunately what was jail
36:36like oh crazy I read something was Mike
36:39The Situation were you guys Boys in
36:41there so I was in jail with him you were
36:43locked up with situation I swear it's
36:44like five for five months Situation's
36:46dope this is a bad friend to have in
36:48there I'm glad you asked that question I
36:49swear I love situation he's so joked oh
36:52yeah
36:53so we were in jail together for five-ish
36:55months I was in like more of like a
36:58white collar prison yeah to start with
37:00yeah of course I got in trouble there
37:01this is before the podcast and get
37:04shipped that right away what'd you do
37:05you know I had a USB device I was trying
37:07to record a book
37:09once again not a good idea so he came
37:11and snagged me threw me in solitary for
37:12that too sent me on Con Air to the next
37:15jail so where I did the podcast and kept
37:17getting worse but were you guys like did
37:18he have your back in there
37:20and that was like a really different
37:21jail experience it was probably like 60
37:24White Collar people so it was mostly
37:27like older New York guys and everybody
37:29was super nice and relaxed really the
37:32other jails were a completely different
37:33vibe like the second one you went to
37:35there I went to maybe four or five all
37:37the other ones was very heavy gang
37:39mostly like uh guns and drugs but yeah
37:42it's a totally different experience a
37:43situation without like the very calm
37:45like relaxed prison did you just like to
37:47like join a side yeah did you have a
37:48career you fit in with so dude I got in
37:49trouble I was in jail for one night and
37:52it was you were yeah in Texas
37:59like four years bro that'd be [ __ ]
38:02like one night was pretty scary man it
38:04sucks it's [ __ ] it's exactly like the
38:06movies like that's what I found it was
38:07just like the lunchroom and [ __ ] and
38:09like it's like 50 years behind Society
38:11it's like part of the segregation like
38:13the yeah like this is like all the not a
38:15place you want to be man would you play
38:17cards in there or anything didn't really
38:18play cards did you start you started a
38:21business in there or something with
38:22phone calls
38:23yeah so when covet started
38:25people were just like so [ __ ] like you
38:27know their families are [ __ ] so I
38:29started like a charity to help fund
38:30these phone calls because the cost is
38:31three dollars and fifteen cents to call
38:33our family which is like pretty
38:33expensive right so I started a program
38:36to fund phone calls for all these
38:37inmates which is pretty cool yeah
38:40it was like any [ __ ] jail stories
38:43dude so many like when I first I was on
38:46bail in New York and I've [ __ ] around
38:49on bail and was trying to dig myself out
38:51of a hole and basically had my bell
38:53revoked and was taken to the Brooklyn
38:54Detention Center
38:55which is like totally brutal and I just
38:58didn't know the first thing about jail
39:00and like I didn't know about the jail
39:02culture all the race stuff like like
39:04living in Manhattan like all this stuff
39:05just doesn't exist in like you know my
39:07mindset and obviously I was naive too
39:09which is so stupid but I'm hanging out
39:11with like other 25 year old guys and
39:13hanging out with the guys who you know I
39:15have similar interests to
39:16but these like older white guys like
39:18literally like Nazi tattoos in their
39:20forehead kept coming out to me like oh
39:21you can't hang out with them did you say
39:22hold his pocket and then say hold his
39:25pocket but he's like you can't hang out
39:26with the black guys you got to hang out
39:27with the white guys you know you got to
39:28hang out with your own kind like all
39:30these things I just like I wasn't
39:31understanding was understanding but
39:33anyway I guess you're really pissed off
39:34these like you know white supremacist
39:36guys because my cellmate who had a
39:3914-year sentence he was back in Brooklyn
39:41in some appeal uh Indian guy with a
39:43financial crime like middle-aged guy
39:45super super nice he goes hey Billy I got
39:48some bad news you know the white guys
39:50they want to fight you
39:51they either want 150 or they're going to
39:53come and fight you what do you want to
39:54do he's like if you don't have the money
39:56I'll pay it for you no problem but if
39:58you want to fight I got your back [ __ ]
40:00and I'm like [ __ ] and like the guy is
40:02super super nice how old was he he's
40:03probably like 45. yeah probably yeah
40:06shout out to Patel no chance but tell us
40:08a man anyway so I'm like Patel [ __ ] it
40:10like I'm not paying these guys now I
40:11just got here like let's fight he goes I
40:14knew you're gonna say that so anyway our
40:17doors get locked are you capping yeah is
40:19this the real story
40:21right now
40:42tell us props here because like this is
40:44like a really cool heartwarming moment
40:46so you're locked behind your door for
40:48what they call account for a couple
40:49hours so he's like trying to tell me
40:51what to do dude I'm brand new he's like
40:52I gotta put your boots on lace up blah
40:54blah blah but the whole time he knew it
40:57was gonna happen and he had told one of
40:59like the big gangs he was leading the
41:00jail like what was happening and you
41:02know I wasn't friends with them but they
41:03were like you know they were cool and
41:04like trying to help me so as soon as the
41:06doors got unlocked like the gang guy
41:08came and grabbed me he goes hey Billy
41:09gotta talk to you so he brought me into
41:10his cell to basically protect me Patel
41:13went and bum rushed that white guy sell
41:15and fought him for me and I had no idea
41:17and I came back to my cell and Patel is
41:19just bleeding all over the ground his
41:20head's all chopped up and like this
41:21middle-aged guy there for like like a
41:23white collar crime is like hey you're a
41:26new kid here you don't know what you're
41:27doing it literally went [ __ ] just
41:28like Risk to sentence and went and
41:29attacked the guy for me why is he doing
41:31that no offense but why is he doing that
41:33for you he had been in jail for six
41:34years I wasn't sentenced yet and like
41:36you just get in way more trouble if you
41:38get caught fighting and he's like he's
41:40like dude you just don't know what's
41:41going on and like this [ __ ] is serious
41:43that's pretty real which guys have long
41:45sense for you yeah why would I do that
41:47yes that's what I'm saying of course I
41:49can subscribe one of my closest friends
41:50he wouldn't do that for me so I wouldn't
41:51do I would tell us a real one in jail I
41:53mean dude
41:57why would we be in there I'm not gonna
41:59go beat up random dudes for you I don't
42:00know get myself did you ever write any
42:02lyrics in there no man I'm tired
42:07I'm kind of curious on this so let's go
42:09back to fire in the night before yeah
42:11what were your feels the night before
42:13everybody's getting there we just
42:16weren't ready and are you freaking out
42:18like looking at the ground totally
42:20freaking out and like my genius ass like
42:23okay let's set up lights and we'll work
42:24overnight and this will be ready by the
42:26time they arrive in the morning and this
42:28storm just comes through okay
42:30that's the funniest part of the day I
42:32swear words
42:35now they put that in the documentary
42:36okay okay there was a storm and I'm like
42:38all right it's gonna be over in 30
42:39minutes all right it's gonna be over an
42:40hour and this storm just didn't go away
42:42and my last decision that really [ __ ]
42:45everything was people started Landing in
42:46the morning and I feel like the festival
42:48site just didn't look good enough so I
42:50sent them to this beach on the other
42:52side of the island I told all the local
42:53boat captains and jet ski guys my Go
42:55free boats free jet skis give them all
42:57the booze they want like give them a
42:59great time and then told them to come
43:01back like later that night so everybody
43:04came over and they were like get them
43:05Sauced up before so get them sauce yeah
43:07yeah show them the island the Island's
43:09amazing yeah but they came back they
43:11were wasted it was Pitch Black the
43:12lights weren't working NASA started the
43:14whole Mayhem so I really [ __ ]
43:16everything and like ruined the last
43:18chance when I told people to just like
43:20go away from the festival site and
43:21that's what killed how did you handle
43:22that like how did you address everybody
43:25I was standing on a milk crate and like
43:28trying to be like trying to get people
43:30into their houses and I had almost 800
43:32you know people working in the festival
43:34that time they weren't all like
43:35full-time employees but between
43:36contractors and full-time employees and
43:39it just shows my like inability to
43:41manage like where the [ __ ] is everybody
43:42I'm standing in this milk crate getting
43:44yelled at by you know X hundreds of
43:46people and it's like couldn't find
43:47anybody it was like the worst feeling in
43:49the world damn yeah see that's what I
43:52don't understand because in the
43:53documentary right A lot of people on
43:55your team are constantly talking about
43:56yeah we don't have enough time like this
43:58isn't gonna happen but they don't really
43:59show them coming to talk to you and be
44:02like sitting you down and be like bro
44:03there's there's no chance this works out
44:05it probably wasn't filmed right well but
44:07did that happen like were there people
44:09from your team being like Billy this is
44:11not [ __ ] the yoga guy was saying that
44:13so I should have listened like so so
44:16people were saying that people were
44:17saying it and it's like I was just on
44:19this mentality like we are going to make

45:33me to come interview for it and he's
45:35just like laughing his ass off about the
45:37story and I hear like on the documentary
45:39he's like almost in tears like crying
45:40about it so it's like kind of
45:42frustrating about how you know people
45:44portray certain Adventure but it's like
45:46in the documentary he was crying I was
45:48told he was seemed to be like very
45:49serious about that he pretty much was
45:50like yo I was ready to blow somebody was
45:52laughing okay all right I don't know so
45:54you seemed pretty happy yeah but we
45:56didn't go through with it he he was
45:58trying his best and like we were
46:00certainly all mentality get these things
46:01done but there was never like a direct
46:03order you know go blow this official but
46:06that's the kind of guy you want on your
46:07team play you gotta have one guy like
46:09that in the squad yeah we have one we
46:10got Gabe he's ready
46:14besides the festival all the stuff that
46:16went South when did like the legal when
46:18were you like oh this is coming to me
46:20like did it all come at once like with
46:21when they started hitting you with like
46:23hey this is a problem and we're coming
46:24for this yeah so the festival was
46:26canceled like late on a Thursday night
46:27okay
46:29um I flew back to New York late Sunday
46:30night so what three days later yeah and
46:32then like 5 a.m the FBI was at my door
46:35so so who's five hours so sorry say that
46:39in five hours I landed like midnight on
46:41the Sunday after the festival and at
46:42five a.m the FBI so who's hitting FM
46:44like yo do you think that like a great
46:47great shout out to my doorman at the
46:49time you know you're the man I won't say
46:51your name and get you in trouble but he
46:53told the FBI I lived in the second floor
46:54of my building I live in the 10th floor
46:57he ran up he took the elevator to the
46:59second floor ran up the rest of the
47:01stairs knocking on my door texting me
47:03it's like Mr McFarland the FBI is here
47:06if you want to go I got you at the back
47:07right now I'm like no that's a real one
47:10shout out that guy no you got a few of
47:12those he's a man
47:14that guy's a [ __ ] Legend I'll come
47:17down he goes okay but we gotta walk down
47:19to the second Forest they can't see us
47:20coming down did you do that so he walked
47:22down to the second floor and then took
47:24the elevator down and not so funny but
47:26when they came to actually arrest me
47:27again months later they went to the
47:29wrong apartment oh my God so he saved
47:31you a few months yeah now like I got
47:34arrested that day got out on bail and
47:35then they came to arrest me again though
47:37they went to the wrong apartment because
47:38he lied to them but like the doormat so
47:40who's calling FBI though like the next
47:42few the few days later like who is that
47:44yeah
47:45well do you think Chris Chris no they
47:48got paid do you think that they were
47:49monitoring you so during the show dude I
47:52just like in the process I I I lied and
47:54I lied to a lot of powerful people
47:56investors are like notified so so naive
47:59like I was on the ground when the
48:01festival was canceled and this one
48:02investor goes to me like he gave me a
48:04dollar figure that wasn't the full
48:06amount he's like we need this back or
48:08else you're going to be on handcuffs
48:09from the front page of the Wall Street
48:10Journal and basically said like dude I
48:12don't have it like [ __ ] off for lack of
48:13better terms and I tried calling him
48:15again a day later he just goes sorry too
48:17late and I didn't know what he meant Oh
48:19and like literally like and he had every
48:22right to report when was that in the
48:24whole problem this is Friday Saturday
48:25and then I get back to New York on
48:27Sunday and I'm done like dude I was I
48:28was guilty I was guilty as hell [ __ ] it
48:31was yeah what's that like the FBI
48:33showing up

48:51looking out for you like that yeah we
48:53had some really good dudes man it's like
48:55even just back to jail like there were
48:57certainly some scumbags in there who
48:58just like did really bad things but so
49:01many great people who just didn't know
49:03anything else and if you're like this 18
49:05year old kid and everybody around you is
49:07selling drugs you don't have one friend
49:09who doesn't do it and you get caught at
49:1018 and go to jail like how do you blame
49:12that kid right yeah it's like there's
49:14some really good honest guys in there
49:16what was the worst thing you saw
49:18there was some rape
49:20um there's a guy who committed suicide
49:22in the Brooklyn Detention Center when I
49:24was there [ __ ] and I was kind of [ __ ]
49:25up
49:26um there was a young kid who who came
49:29into Brooklyn a couple months after I
49:30got there so I was more comfortable at
49:32this point he was like my age kind of
49:34looked like similar to me so everybody
49:36was joking oh like Billy you got a
49:38brother here like your brother's finally
49:39in jail with you you got a friend yeah
49:40and so he's all scared the first day he
49:43pays off one of the big gangs for
49:45protection gives him a lot of money
49:46right so the guy switches his cell to be
49:48cellmates with him and he's right next
49:50door to myself and like so he just paid
49:52this guy or he paid his gang and the guy
49:53said okay so come with me and that night
49:55you just hear the guy getting raped he
49:57goes oh please like stop and do that was
49:58[ __ ] like you're right next to him
50:00right different cells closed door if you
50:02could hear it and like I saw him it's
50:04like dude stop you telling it like you
50:06can if you call the cops and telling
50:07them like they're gonna [ __ ] kill you
50:08like there's nothing you can do so it
50:11gets worse so the next morning the kid
50:12doesn't want to tell him the guy right
50:14so he basically goes and tells the cop I
50:15need a new cell so they move his cell
50:17but the words getting around it he got
50:19raped so now the gang pressures the guy
50:21that raped him he's like if that guy's
50:23that is that guy lying he's like yeah
50:24he's like I didn't rape him so the next
50:26morning when the door is open all you
50:28hear is he cries like help me help me he
50:30took a razor blade and went and like
50:32slashed the kid up and you never saw him
50:33again
50:34so he got raped one day and then slashed
50:37up the next day so it's like cheese dude
50:39this place is [ __ ] real like what was
50:42your status like in there like people
50:43knew who you were that's [ __ ] insane
50:45no well they knew who you were so the
50:47big thing about jail is sex offenders
50:50which there are tons and people who
50:53snitched so if you weren't a sex
50:55offender you don't snitch and you don't
50:57owe anybody money and only we do that is
50:58if you're a drug user like then you're
51:00then you're pretty much fine so did
51:01people like know who you were they knew
51:03about the case yeah and then so but
51:05basically if you're not a sex offender
51:06or a snitch and you're not like in the
51:07gang situation no one really cares about
51:09you so you can kind of like stay in your
51:10own lane and no one bothers you God that
51:12makes sense yeah but like if you're not
51:15that like you can't watch TV you can't
51:16eat at certain tables like you're really
51:18what was the best thing you got to do in
51:20there
51:22meet people it's like
51:25I think when you're working a lot and
51:27like trying to excel in your career you
51:30don't have
51:31months just like hang out with someone
51:33and get to know them
51:34on like a non-needy level like I don't
51:37need anything from you you don't want
51:38anything from me just like becoming
51:39genuine friends like that was pretty
51:42cool and I felt like when you're trying
51:43to come up in your career
51:45it's hard to find genuine friends
51:47because most people want something from
51:48you whether it's to be in the podcast
51:49whether it's to invest and make money
51:51whoever the [ __ ] it is everyone's trying
51:52to come up everybody everybody wants to
51:53come up like even if you're a great guy
51:55you know we're business minded right we
51:57want that come up yeah but in there when
51:59you don't care about to come up if
52:01someone has 30 years in their sentence
52:03like they're not trying to come up it's
52:04like that time to connect like it's
52:06pretty cool which is like a really
52:07different humans that's interesting real
52:09real connection like you're real friends
52:11it's like I don't need anything like
52:12we're in jail like I don't want anything
52:14like whatever you were before it doesn't
52:16[ __ ] matter we're all eating the same
52:17[ __ ] and like sleeping in a [ __ ]
52:19cotton like we're cool so while while
52:21you're in there and and now are you were
52:24you thinking about okay this is what I
52:25need to do when I get out or this is
52:27plans that I have to start when I get
52:29out yeah so working on a company now
52:31it's called pirate put it together
52:34during so this is the new game plan
52:36pirate all right it's put it together in
52:39my seventh month stint in solitary and
52:41to start okay one more happy day yeah

52:55and want to pay people back but to do
52:58that I need to do what I'm good at

53:23I'm good at and I think does it in a
53:25scale that's a little bit more
53:27interesting this time around
53:29before we get into it when I go back to
53:31the Bahamas for the first time
53:33whatever that I don't know what's gonna
53:34happen I have to ask permission to go
53:36but I'd love for you guys to be there to
53:38capture the content and be the first
53:40ones to return boots in the ground I

55:45Bahamas spent a week here with me
55:48um my business partner has gone back a
55:50couple times for the past couple of
55:51months we're really like getting back
55:53into full Bahamas mode so we're doing is
55:56establishing a permanent spot there for
55:58like a manageable number of like artists
56:00and creators to come and get together
56:01and just like connect and share new
56:03ideas
56:04but what we did this time is pretty cool
56:05we built this virtual replica of the
56:08island
56:09so no matter where you are in the world
56:11you could live stream the island you can
56:14actually get together online and change
56:16what's happening on the island so for
56:18example I change what's happening
56:19physically on the island physically so
56:21like I could be swimming on the island
56:22and people online could like buy me a
56:24drink or they can literally Chum the
56:26water and like give it all the sharks in
56:28the area like I'm sure people would love
56:29to would love to see that so it's all
56:32about how
56:37propose that like to me hey are you down
56:39with getting the water Chum I'll have
56:41like a pirate app my Apple watch and I
56:43can say yeah sure I'll do this and then
56:45literally have like a local boat captain
56:46drops bait in the water so it's giving
56:49people the ability no matter where they
56:51are to come to this experience that I
56:53always thought was so magical but not
56:55just watch it to actually change and
56:57even own some of the things happening on
56:59the island one sec Billy what if they
57:01say yo we don't want you to come back
57:02here
57:03that would really suck wouldn't it
57:05they're not saying that I'm assuming I
57:07can't get permission right you talking
57:08about the Bahamas yeah I need to ask
57:10permission to the just to leave the
57:12country to leave the country the Bahamas
57:13is cool with you coming back I have
57:15plenty of support from the Bahamas so
57:16I'm fairly confident that we will be
57:18allowed a second chance there which
57:20super super grateful for but just need
57:22to like kind of go through the process
57:23with the US and you know take it step by
57:24step
57:25damn why don't you live in the Bahamas
57:27so what's the company it's like an app
57:30it's the company is called pirate so
57:31it's you know part physical hotel and
57:34part app where you can literally get
57:35together everywhere and then change
57:37what's happening on this island are they
57:39building the hotel right now so we're
57:40taking over a development it's already
57:42been there it's never been marketed
57:43before so we're gonna make it it's like
57:45pirate Adventure theme and essentially
57:48invite various like content creators and
57:50entrepreneurs and it's like replicate
57:52these Adventure trips that kicked
57:54everything off but do a unique twist
57:57where you're there on the island and
57:58then a thousand people at home could be
58:00like dictating your Island Experience so
58:03the hotel exists right like it's there
58:04it's not a currently Hotel it's a couple
58:07of dozen Villas that's basically you
58:08know a private Villa like a villa or
58:10like it's a real thing right so like
58:12just like cardboard boxes right now it's
58:14gonna be ready in what three weeks
58:18just give yourself enough time for this
58:20one so we took we took our first let's
58:22not rush this like we don't know yeah
58:23dude like the great thing is like
58:25there's no problem is right like I have
58:27no no investors and no deadlines we took
58:29our first guest back last weekend I
58:31didn't go but my business partner took
58:32them like they had a [ __ ] incredible
58:33time and taking step by step but really
58:36focusing on the tech now and like think
58:39there's so much in like this emerging
58:40technology where people can come
58:42together online to actually like own and
58:44affect these physical assets it's going
58:47to make this experience totally
58:49different and open to everybody
58:51and are are you super confident now like
58:53as any of you do you ever worry now like
58:55what what's happened in the past are you
58:57ever scared or like does that play into
58:58what you're doing in the future I think
59:00it all just comes down to honesty right
59:02it's like I don't have [ __ ] and I'm just
59:04like very grateful to have supportive
59:05friends and supportive companies who
59:07want to see this happen so I'm going to

59:16there's no like I'm honest about
59:18finances I'm honest about like what it

1:06:47float down so you're literally floating
1:06:49in the plane like spinning each other in
1:06:50the air now when it gets too low you ram
1:06:52the engine and catch it
1:06:54so we should grab it together on the
1:06:56plane but yeah that was that was a fun

1:14:36to be around Talent whether it's models
1:14:39like Instagram attention and I feel like
1:14:41everything was there and the bills would
1:14:42come months later and I couldn't pay
1:14:43them of course but like you know the
1:14:45credit that we had built up was just
1:14:47from the star power yeah just from like
1:14:49the Intrigue and people want to be a
1:14:51part of it and there was no questions
1:14:52it's like it felt like anything that we
1:14:54wanted to order was like on demand and
1:14:55it was like it took me to this like
1:14:57false reality where
1:14:59I just [ __ ] up it's like when you're
1:15:00ordering room service and you get the
1:15:02bill later and you're like yeah
1:15:04a couple boats and planes yeah exactly
1:15:06when you do stuff now are you just like

1:15:13way that you operate when I first got to

1:15:42they never could have [ __ ] dreamed of

1:16:01fact the obvious answer is that I had
1:16:03more money than I said I had or our
1:16:05revenue is higher I said it was going to

1:16:31about like lying about what I thought I
1:16:33could do was the worst lie that I could
1:16:36have had because then people didn't know
1:16:37how to help

1:16:40the person steps back and say okay you
1:16:42got that like you don't need my help
1:16:44whereas if I could have said like dude I
1:16:45have no idea how to get [ __ ] water on
1:16:47this island like I had enough like
1:16:49powerful investors and advisors they're
1:16:50not delegating properly I wasn't
1:16:52delegating properly they would have
1:16:53called someone who actually knew what
1:16:55they were doing to help me so it was
1:16:56lying about my skill set damn because
1:16:58that sucks because like you could have
1:17:00changed that yeah like straight up just
1:17:01by like and obviously we're going back
1:17:03in circles now like telling the truth
1:17:04and saying hey I need this I need
1:17:05someone to give me this advice they
1:17:07would have been like sure sure dude just

1:17:12what was the toughest thing to do like
1:17:15to get done for a music festival what's
1:17:17the hardest thing to accomplish
1:17:19I think I hired way too quickly I just
1:17:22didn't know how to manage hundreds of
1:17:24people
1:17:24and like every day was a fire like you
1:17:27know literally right trying to solve a
1:17:29problem so the company doesn't go under
1:17:30and not understanding how to give
1:17:32hundreds of people the attention and
1:17:34guidance they need to actually come
1:17:36together and make something happen have
1:17:37you seen like the viral picture of like
1:17:39the two pieces of bread and the cheese
1:17:41yeah
1:17:42um
1:17:43what is that all right dude it's like
1:17:46the food that's what's portrayed social
1:17:48media experts if we serve 3

1:17:52connected people cheese sandwiches there
1:17:55would be more than one picture
1:17:56sure that's my that's my defense who's

1:18:00food was fine it wasn't like it was not
1:18:01great the food was fine
1:18:03and then what happened to me and Andy
1:18:06King actually told me this later was two
1:18:07kids got super high came up to Andy King
1:18:09and said hey man all I really wanted to
1:18:10cheese sandwich so that's what he made
1:18:12for them and that one picture went viral
1:18:13damn yeah so it's like but like if you
1:18:16serve 3 000 of those it'd be more than
1:18:18just one you know trash can with a
1:18:19sandwich but like once again totally
1:18:22under deliver on the food and [ __ ] it
1:18:23up but it was not all cheese sandwiches
1:18:25however when I first got to Jail uh I
1:18:28thought it was funny they gave me my
1:18:29first day there they gave me a lunch
1:18:30yeah that's what I'm saying who you were
1:18:33yeah so they trolled you yeah that's
1:18:35dope so a lot of people recognized you
1:18:37in there
1:18:38um people just watch the news all day
1:18:39long oh right there's a couple of TVs so

1:18:44like on everything so it's all like you
1:18:45know the morning shows and like the talk
1:18:47shows but people watched a lot of news
1:18:49damn and they try to connect like like
1:18:51if you're in there you feel better about
1:18:52yourself when you see somebody else
1:18:54getting in trouble like even if you
1:18:55don't want to admit it so everybody
1:18:57watches like all the crime shows and
1:18:59like behind jail shows it's all big did
1:19:01you pull an all-nighter that night
1:19:03from the festival yeah yeah it was it
1:19:05was brutal did it when did it kick in
1:19:07like yo I could be [ __ ] I was
1:19:08literally told three people died
1:19:10and the ways I was told they died were
1:19:12just so [ __ ] wild and like if I had
1:19:15any stable mind at the time I would have
1:19:17understood it wasn't true and I'm like
1:19:19[ __ ] like I can't handle this like let's
1:19:20cancel this immediately that's what led
1:19:22me to cancel it but thankfully no one
1:19:24got hurt and that was all [ __ ] but
1:19:25like that was why someone lied to do
1:19:27what they say how they say they died I
1:19:28was told someone got shot someone got
1:19:30bit by a pig and someone was just
1:19:31kidnapped and missing who told you that
1:19:33just random people who were working
1:19:34there so Jesus stuff like obviously no
1:19:37one got bit by a pig and died there are
1:19:38the pigs in the Bahamas but like in my
1:19:40mindset I'm like oh [ __ ] the pigs came
1:19:41like I can't handle this they're like
1:19:43kill those pigs are friendly yeah but
1:19:45there's people on Twitter saying shots
1:19:46fired we're hearing gunfire was all it's
1:19:48all false but I'm seeing the tweets
1:19:49hearing the rumors
1:19:51and it was because people were like
1:19:53starting to get mad they're getting mad
1:19:54and like I was literally like on the
1:19:56phone with the reporter on like they
1:19:58were literally I'm not gonna mention the
1:19:59publication but they were live streaming
1:20:01me on their homepage their website
1:20:02standing on this milk carton like and
1:20:04then I was already talking to him on the
1:20:06phone while they were live streaming
1:20:08they're like we have reports that you
1:20:09ran away and you're yacht with all these
1:20:11supermodels and cocaine it's like dude
1:20:13you [ __ ] idiots you're literally live
1:20:14streaming like right here right in the
1:20:16middle of this and like it was just like
1:20:17so overwhelming and
1:20:21what was jaw doing at that point uh
1:20:25night of he hadn't gotten there yet he
1:20:27had a concert somewhere in Middle
1:20:28America and he was gonna fly in on I
1:20:30think on Friday and it was canceled late
1:20:31Thursday night did he text you me like
1:20:33yo bro like good luck anything for sure
1:20:36I mean like yeah what was the falling
1:20:39out like I mean as soon as
1:20:41I don't know if I should say this but
1:20:42[ __ ] it as soon as uh as soon as the FBI
1:20:45came to see me my lawyer got a call from
1:20:47his lawyer and as Larry basically said
1:20:49we're going in tomorrow to proffer I
1:20:51don't know what that means but they're
1:20:52basically going to tell them everything
1:20:53of course so he went in like the next
1:20:55day and you know my lawyer is like if
1:20:57you call him again I'm not gonna
1:20:59represent you yeah so that was that was
1:21:01into that
1:21:02contact
1:21:04yeah no interest I haven't heard
1:21:07anything about him in five years so I'm
1:21:09super focused on pirate yeah have you
1:21:11like reached out to anybody to try and
1:21:12work with them and they've just been

1:21:31dudes like hard emotionally it's like I
1:21:34really I feel really bad for the
1:21:35investor that I definitely [ __ ] over
1:21:37who like wrote that letter asking for a
1:21:38life sentence but like do I have the
1:21:40self-respect to respond or is it like I
1:21:42was totally wrong I should respond like
1:21:44these things I just don't know how to
1:21:45handle at this point do you know how
1:21:47what do you mean go ahead what happened
1:21:49say sorry basically to the guy who's
1:21:51like yo you I hope you had a lifestyle
1:21:53how much did that guy give uh that
1:21:56investor gave
1:21:57I I don't want to say because people are

1:22:01of money and they're for sure wronged
1:22:03and like they deserve to be mad at the
1:22:05judge but it's like you asked to take
1:22:07away my entire life and now you want to

1:22:11away his life because he gave his
1:22:13savings to you for sure and that and I
1:22:15could totally like be wrong here but I
1:22:17think I might just conflicted like

1:22:24um he was a core member of the team you
1:22:26know talented guy when things went wrong
1:22:28he was you know quick they pass blame
1:22:29and he's like he probably thought he
1:22:32would never hear from me again five
1:22:33years ago right I get a call a couple of
1:22:35days ago from you know advisor I really
1:22:37respect and this guy's applying for a
1:22:39job at his friend's company and the CEO
1:22:41of that company called him because they
1:22:42knew he knew me and like should we hire
1:22:44this guy so like I gave I think a fair
1:22:47but good review but it's like that's for
1:22:48your approval yeah that's how small the
1:22:50world is like this dude is like yo Billy
1:22:51is done [ __ ] him and this is a
1:22:53middle-aged guy is now applying for a
1:22:55job and just doesn't realize that like
1:22:56I'm not the only say but I definitely
1:22:58had
1:22:59you know serious weight in that decision
1:23:00which is crazy how the world where
1:23:02people are pretty quick to burn Bridges
1:23:03and for sure maybe sometimes it

1:24:55like and I've talked about like wanting
1:24:57to have a couple of solid friends like
1:24:58the support there is amazing and like my
1:25:01business partner has gone back a couple
1:25:02of times like
1:25:04are their doors are open there's houses
1:25:06there's Villas like they want us there
1:25:08they want to have us there and it's like
1:25:09kind of respecting that it's like as
1:25:11soon as I'm allowed to go we are ready
1:25:12to go and really start building again
1:25:14yeah yeah and then well I'm gonna tell
1:25:16you in the documentary there's a guy
1:25:17there's like a bartender who has your
1:25:18back so hard Delroy you're the man
1:25:21you're definitely watching this shout
1:25:22out to Delray the flip side is there's a
1:25:24lot of people saying like are they he
1:25:25was saying maybe somebody else said but
1:25:27that they were unpaid yeah so is that so

1:25:38four months before that and then for the

1:25:47you're not getting paid for four months
1:25:48you're not going to work so people were
1:25:49paid up until the end yeah however that
1:25:51last week we did hire more people
1:25:53because we're trying to get all hands on
1:25:55decks it's certainly money is owed there
1:25:56and you know paying that back is super
1:25:58super important to me
1:26:01I just asked because it's like you do
1:26:03think you're going to be welcome back

1:26:39islands of the population of 10 20 50
1:26:41100 people so I think they got some
1:26:44increased tourism from it and people
1:26:45just realized like how beautiful these
1:26:47islands really are and yes I know there
1:26:49are guys I go out there and I promise
1:26:51guys like I will do my best and I can't
1:26:52promise any dollar amount but even if
1:26:54it's 20 and a month to pay it like I
1:26:56will pay it and we'll we'll go step by
1:26:58step I like it I don't know how much you

1:30:34be my last time I didn't have any money
1:30:35so it's like you're at the bar I wasn't
1:30:37like no I wasn't at the bar I should
1:30:41have been um I don't really have any
1:30:42money yeah so it's like it wasn't like
1:30:44going that crazy but it was but it
1:30:47sucked it was like I don't know what was
1:30:48worse like being the the guy simping
1:30:50like paying for the plane for everybody
1:30:51or being the guy with like no money not
1:30:53knowing when you're going to jail still
1:30:54trying to have fun like it's both like a
1:30:56shitty life experience how hard was that
1:30:58to adapt to when you had no money to
1:30:59spend it was hard like I got more
1:31:01trouble because like I just didn't know
1:31:03how to adapt I know how to be honest
1:31:05right like I couldn't like I didn't have
1:31:06the balls to be like yeah I'm broke
1:31:09like I didn't like I couldn't find pride
1:31:11in that
1:31:11just kept getting me [ __ ] up it's like

1:31:41and I thought I could still like pull
1:31:43things off then I realized like no one
1:31:45was taking my calls I just kept getting
1:31:46what were you doing to like get by so
1:31:49magnesis had been giving people like
1:31:51access to different events and like you
1:31:53know different like group Gatherings and
1:31:54experiences for years and so I kept
1:31:57trying to sell these experiences that I
1:31:59might have had access to before but like
1:32:00didn't have them currently can you give
1:32:01us some example yeah so the Met Gala for
1:32:04example so like my dumb ass sold I don't
1:32:06know how many tickets like to the Met
1:32:07Gala I don't know if I maybe a handful
1:32:09when I was on bond you know thinking
1:32:11that hey I knew one of the brands
1:32:13sponsoring it they'll give me a few
1:32:14seats at their table like no problem not
1:32:16realizing like I tried to call them and
1:32:17they just like dude go [ __ ] yourself
1:32:19like what do you think you're doing I
1:32:20was like so detached from reality just
1:32:22like kept getting in trouble were they
1:32:24the tickets sold at that point yeah they
1:32:26were oh [ __ ] yeah so I [ __ ] up did
1:32:28they add that to yeah you know like I
1:32:30think that took me from literally
1:32:31getting like a year or two to getting a
1:32:33six year sentence I'm like oh
1:32:34deserveably but like that [ __ ] me up
1:32:37whoa [ __ ] yeah what's what's a Mech Ally
1:32:40ticket cost
1:32:41we don't get invited to [ __ ] like that
1:32:42so yeah I mean like I think like it's
1:32:45semi-public great but for if you pay you
1:32:47know 100 000 hundred thousand dollars a
1:32:49brand you'll get a table and you can
1:32:50have a 150k for a table with the mecca
1:32:52what the [ __ ] that's lame as hell [ __ ]
1:32:54that yeah did you sell one of the tables
1:32:56I didn't sell a table I could never get
1:32:58it listen I didn't have those tickets
1:32:59right I thought it could convince one
1:33:00but what did you sell them for dude I
1:33:02was [ __ ] I was selling them for
1:33:03thousands of dollars when you know I was
1:33:05like underselling them trying to make
1:33:06money you know I was so [ __ ] wrong it
1:33:08was terrible so you get you get your 10
1:33:10bands and then what do you do start
1:33:11calling these Brands and then they're
1:33:13screening my calls but then you go to
1:33:14balance and get bottle service or no uh
1:33:16why are you trying to tie them up that's
1:33:18fun no it's like dude like I'm like I'm

1:33:22yes and but yeah I was wrong and like I
1:33:25did have friends too yeah you know still

1:34:06and everybody who finds the bottle is
1:34:08going to be invited back to the Bahamas
1:34:10we took the first winners back last
1:34:11weekend and then they'll also be invited
1:34:13to participate in the larger treasure
1:34:15hunt and I can't tell you guys who the
1:34:16grand prize is yet but it'll be a larger
1:34:18part of the pirate story in the future
1:34:19so this is actually bottle number three
1:34:21so there's now 96 96 left they'll be
1:34:24hiding out there are they hidden right
1:34:26now uh we hid the first two that were
1:34:27found this is the third one we have not
1:34:29hit the fourth one yet so
1:34:31across all states in the US we've only
1:34:33done New York so far it will be
1:34:35expanding different cities
1:34:39so it gets you a free trip weekend trip
1:34:41back to the Bahamas and then you're
1:34:43officially like part of the larger
1:34:44treasure hunt and the grand prize which
1:34:46I just can't like promise yet is way
1:34:48bigger than a free trip but it's like a
1:34:50really cool how many people do you get
1:34:51in that because he's gotten better
