5:10but he's been running at a breakneck pace.
5:13So much has been made about whether
5:14or not Rollins can keep up this pace.
5:16Yeah, well, it's been an incredible 2023
5:21for Seth Rollins,
5:22especially the past six months
5:24as World Heavyweight Champion.
5:25But those well-known back issues are
5:27seemingly getting worse by the week,
5:30and opponents know exactly how to strategize for that.
5:34McIntyre, perhaps more so than most.
5:37Raucous crowd here tonight,
5:38sold-out Mohammed Abdo Arena,
5:41Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
5:43The world is talking about WWE Crown Jewel.
5:47(crowd chanting "McIntyre!")
5:55And a lockup, center of the ring,
5:56for the World Heavyweight Championship.
5:58Now talk about Drew McIntyre,
6:00it is put up or shut up time for Drew McIntyre.
6:04He has made excuse after excuse,
6:06and a lot of those excuses hold water,
6:08but now he has to get the job done
6:10and finally win the gold.
6:12Well, at times over the past few weeks,
6:14we've seen Drew McIntyre in a battle, seemingly,
6:18with an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other.
6:21But Drew is now in control of his own destiny.
6:24The excuses, the reasons,
6:26why things haven't panned out over the past few years,
6:29they're put to one side.
6:30Drew has to get the job done now.
6:32When the world was in the grip
6:34of the COVID pandemic,
6:35Drew McIntyre was the WWE Champion.
6:38He carried the company in many different ways.
6:40In fact, his first title defense
6:42as the WWE Champion was at Money in the Bank in 2020
6:47when he successfully defended the title
6:49against none other than Seth Rollins.
6:51At that point, McIntyre had all the momentum
6:54in the world, however.
6:55Right now, the momentum has to be
6:57with World Heavyweight Champion Rollins.
6:59Yeah, but the momentum went away
7:00from Drew McIntyre...

7:04September, a year ago.

7:08Oh, you see that?

7:13from McIntyre, maybe celebrating a little early.

7:29for Rollins a year ago, August,
7:31when he lost at Clash at the Castle
7:33in Cardiff, Wales, to Roman Reigns,
7:35thanks to the influence of Solo Sikoa.
7:38Cover now and a kickout by Rollins at one.
7:40And ever since that day,
7:41it seems like Drew McIntyre just could not get back
7:44to the top of the mountain.
7:45Yeah, well, even prior to that,
7:46it was essentially the culmination
7:48of a life's work for McIntyre becoming the World Champion,
7:53and nobody was there to see it,
7:54and the bitterness has just grown from there.

7:59Another interesting side note in this story,
8:01the fact that Rhea Ripley of the Judgment Day
8:04has made it pretty clear that she has been trying
8:08to recruit either one of these men into her group.
8:11And I'll tell you right now,
8:13if I was either...
8:14Ooh, nice from Seth there!
8:15If I was either one of these two men,
8:17I'd have absolutely accepted that offer
8:20from Rhea Ripley and the Judgment Day.
8:22Because if one of these two had accepted it,
8:25it's guaranteed they would win this match
8:28and leave as World Heavyweight Champ.
8:30And Rollins now drives himself
8:32through the second rope.
8:32McIntyre able to catch Seth, and a Belly-to-Belly Throw,
8:36and there's the power of Drew McIntyre!
8:39Too big, too strong,
8:40even with this level of athleticism from Rollins!
8:44And watch the lower back
8:45of Seth there landing straight on the hard concrete!
8:48And speaking of Rhea Ripley,
8:50moments ago she sent out a tweet that said,
8:53"Good luck, boys, McIntyre and Rollins."
8:56That coming from Rhea Ripley of the Judgment Day.
8:59Well, on the face of it,
9:00neither man accepted any form of deal
9:03with Rhea Ripley of the Judgment Day, but what goes on-
9:05That we know of.
9:06Behind closed doors
9:07may be a very different matter, Cole.
9:09And again, Rollins whipped into the corner.
9:11Now McIntyre realizing the back may have been injured
9:14off the Belly-to-Belly, and Seth, of course,
9:16with a well-documented history of back injuries.
9:19McIntyre perhaps will now target the back of Rollins.
9:23As well, he should.
9:24Seth Rollins is a difficult man to beat on any occasion.
9:28If you find a weakness, you have to exploit it.

11:27You know Drew McIntyre so well, Wade,
11:29probably better than anyone in WWE.
11:31What does Rollins need to do
11:33to knock off the big Scottish Warrior?
11:34I mean, first of all,
11:35you have to avoid the power game of Drew McIntyre.
11:38Seth Rollins' key to any victory has to be his athleticism.
11:43How athletic he can be with that bad back,
11:45however, I do not know.
11:46And now Rollins, a couple of well-placed kicks
11:49to the back of the neck of McIntyre.
11:51It frees Rollins momentarily.

13:09Well, once he managed to soften up McIntyre
13:11and use some of this athleticism,
13:13starting with this knee to the jaw,
13:16really is clear that Rollins is showing no true ill effects
13:21despite those back issues that have haunted him.
13:25I talked to Rollins
13:26about the back earlier today.
13:27He says once it loosens up
13:29and the adrenaline gets to flow,
13:31as long as he doesn't absorb a lot
13:32of punishment in the match,
13:33he can usually make it through without an issue.
13:37Trying to make it through a match
13:38with McIntyre without absorbing much pain
13:41is quite something else.
13:43And even there it seemed like Seth had an issue
13:45trying to suplex McIntyre.
13:47And that time, Rollins with the Falcon Arrow!

13:57So much professional respect
13:59between these two individuals,
14:01and an initial cordial agreement for this matchup.
14:04It did descend into some bitter,

14:12of resilience that took him
14:14to the World Heavyweight Championship in the first place.

14:51for almost anybody on the roster.

15:14Usually, Seth would go for the Falcon Arrow

15:23And at just two and three-quarters,
15:25Rollins got his shoulder up!
15:27I'm glad we got a replay of that.
15:28I had a feeling this referee had been paid off,
15:30but he got it exactly right.

15:39here tonight between Rollins and McIntyre.
15:42Both men showing the wounds of war.

16:25Rollins was going for the Buckle Bomb,
16:27but his back gave out halfway across the ring,
16:30and McIntyre turned it into a Future Shock DDT
16:34for another near fall.
