16. 0:27number one affiliate. She's done it

19. 0:32Shop. And fun fact is she trained her
20. 0:34mom to be an affiliate and now she is
21. 0:36absolutely crushing it, one of our top
22. 0:37affiliates also. So, we're going to
23. 0:39surprise them with some gifts, sit down
24. 0:40with Tani and hear her full story, hear
25. 0:42about how she's now making millions of
26. 0:45dollars a year on TikTok Shop, just
27. 0:47crushing as an affiliate for Physician's
28. 0:48Choice, and then it should be a fun day.
29. 0:51Tell me a little bit about yourself and
30. 0:52where you're from.
31. 0:53>> Well, I am from Mexico, born and raised.
32. 0:56I grew up with, you know, the basics. We
33. 0:59had no vacations, nothing fancy. You
34. 1:02know, when you're growing up, you're
35. 1:03like cool sneakers, cool clothes as you
36. 1:05start becoming a teen.
37. 1:06>> Right.
38. 1:07>> Never had any of that. There was this
39. 1:08Barbie that I wanted so bad, and you
40. 1:11know, wasn't ever able to get it till
41. 1:14now.
42. 1:15>> [laughter]
43. 1:16>> Uh healing my inner child.
44. 1:17>> Yeah.
45. 1:18>> But coming to the States, it's been like
46. 1:20life-changing in many ways because I can
47. 1:24see other things, opening up to, you
48. 1:26know, other points of view. [music]
49. 1:28And I also struggled coming here to the
50. 1:31to the States because I was by myself.
51. 1:33Like my whole family stayed behind,
52. 1:35which I have, you know, my parents, my
53. 1:36siblings, all brothers. They're only
54. 1:39>> That's scary.
55. 1:39>> Yeah.
56. 1:40It is scary, and at the time nobody
57. 1:42really had like a visa to come visit, so
58. 1:44I had to travel there. Sometimes I would
59. 1:47go years without seeing them. So,
60. 1:49>> Yeah.
61. 1:50>> it wasn't easy. When I first got here, I
62. 1:53was actually a medical interpreter. So,
63. 1:55I would go to hospitals and help
64. 1:57Hispanic speakers to be in their
65. 2:00appointments with doctors and I would
66. 2:01translate between the two of them, which
67. 2:04was amazing.
68. 2:05>> Yeah.
69. 2:05>> I also did some online teaching,
70. 2:08basic English to Chinese children.
71. 2:11But the schedule was rough because you
72. 2:13have to wake up like at
73. 2:143:00 in the morning cuz it was 3:00 p.m.
74. 2:16for them after school.
75. 2:17>> Right.
76. 2:18>> So, it was like from 3:00 to 10:00, but
77. 2:19I was free at 10:00 in the morning, so
78. 2:21that was also nice. So, I did a lot. I
79. 2:24did lashes, nails, a lot of things.

81. 2:27>> Until I found what I found what I taught
82. 2:29me.
83. 2:30>> So, what are we here to talk about
84. 2:31today? So, how did you first hear about
85. 2:32TikTok Shop and making money online and
86. 2:34like get into that whole world?
87. 2:36>> Yeah, so I started with UGC,
88. 2:39user-generated content, making videos
89. 2:41for brands and that was working well for
90. 2:43me, but then, you know, being on
91. 2:45Twitter, I found Jimmy's Twitter showing
92. 2:48Sydney's

94. 2:49>> uh case study.
95. 2:49>> Right.
96. 2:50>> He said something like you can make
97. 2:52$20,000 a month, $15,000 a month with
98. 2:56brands. And to me that was like
99. 2:58mind-blowing money, you know, and I at
100. 3:00the time I remember thinking,

102. 3:02>> if I could make 5,000 a month, I would
103. 3:04be like over the moon. I went to his
104. 3:06link in bio and [music] scheduled a
105. 3:08call. I joined CC and it's been great
106. 3:11since. And the actual first brand I ever
107. 3:14promoted [music] on the shop was
108. 3:15Physician's Choice.
109. 3:16>> Oh, I didn't know that.
110. 3:17>> Yeah.
111. 3:18>> That's cool.
112. 3:19>> I was very hesitant though at first
113. 3:20because I'm not outgoing, outspoken, and
114. 3:23the camera was scary.
115. 3:24>> Yeah.
116. 3:25>> Before the shop, we we used to do slide
117. 3:27shows for brands
118. 3:28>> Okay.
119. 3:29>> just to promote

121. 3:30>> and put the product out there, but the
122. 3:32TikTok Shop manager of Physician's at
123. 3:34the time was like, "No, we want you on
124. 3:36the shop and making videos." And because
125. 3:38I had already gotten my retainer for the
126. 3:40month, I'm like, "Okay, I'm just going
127. 3:41to post whatever." But it actually did
128. 3:44really well.
129. 3:45>> The first time you got a paycheck
130. 3:46[music] from TikTok Shop and you made
131. 3:48some real money, what what did that feel
132. 3:49like and and what did you do with the
133. 3:51money?
134. 3:52>> Wow.
135. 3:53It It was crazy.
136. 3:55Cuz that was like life-changing money
137. 3:57for me like on the first month. I went
138. 3:59from making like 3,000 a month doing
139. 4:03everything under the sun

147. 4:16mind-blowing to me, insane. I felt
148. 4:19really thankful, really blessed, and in
149. 4:20a little way like the Lulu like this is
150. 4:23not happening
151. 4:24to me. Not me. Cuz I would hear other
152. 4:26creators' [music] success like hey I
153. 4:28made this much in this month and I'll be
154. 4:29so happy for them but in my mind I'm
155. 4:32like that could never be me.

158. 4:34>> At the time I just saved it. But later
159. 4:36on both my grandparents passed [music]
160. 4:39and they needed to sell the house.
161. 4:42And I bought it.

164. 4:45>> Yeah, keep it with you know the family
165. 4:48and all the siblings like like my uncles
166. 4:50and aunts were really happy and
167. 4:52thankful.

172. 4:57>> Well, I was very blessed to have blown
173. 4:59up from pretty much the first video I
174. 5:01would want to say, but it's not typical.
175. 5:04And that's where people get stuck or
176. 5:05even give up because it takes
177. 5:07consistency, patience, a lot of
178. 5:09learning, a lot of practicing. And
179. 5:12there's people who think you don't need
180. 5:14the skill, you just need to make the
181. 5:16product look pretty and say the
182. 5:18ingredients or the features and there's
183. 5:20more to it than that.
184. 5:21>> So is there a type of video or type of
185. 5:23content that has worked really well for
186. 5:25you for Physician's Choice?
187. 5:26>> Yeah, to me using my unfair advantage

189. 5:31which is a flat stomach anyway.
190. 5:33Um because that's what people want. You
191. 5:35can be the skinniest person in the world
192. 5:37and you're going to blow it if your gut
193. 5:38[music] health is not there.

195. 5:39>> So that's been the angle that works for
196. 5:41me and very much talking like a friend.
197. 5:44I I always think talk to the camera as
198. 5:48if it's a loved one who's struggling
199. 5:50with something. What would you tell
200. 5:52them? You know, how do you feel or did
201. 5:54you feel in the past? How are they
202. 5:56feeling right now?
203. 5:56>> Yeah, that's very smart.
204. 5:58>> And yeah, and that that's what's
205. 5:59converts because people like, oh yeah, I
206. 6:00feel the exact same way, you know? To
207. 6:03me, the main thing will always be
208. 6:05promote something you believe [music] in
209. 6:07because you won't get tired of making
210. 6:08content. You won't run out of content
211. 6:10ideas and you'll know what to say. And
212. 6:12with practice, you probably won't even
213. 6:14have to script. You're making easier on
214. 6:16yourself and authentic for your
215. 6:18audience. That will always be key to me.

217. 6:20>> Another thing is staying consistent with
218. 6:22a brand. If it works for you,

220. 6:25>> but in the beginning it doesn't take
221. 6:27off, you have to keep, you know, because
222. 6:29you got to find

224. 6:30>> the angle or the script or the pain
225. 6:33point that people are going to feel the
226. 6:35most. So, don't give up even just the
227. 6:38first few videos you don't take off.
228. 6:40Like literally 2 years I've been posting
229. 6:42this brand and making great consistent
230. 6:45income. So,
231. 6:46>> Yeah.
232. 6:48>> I taught my mom how to do TikTok shop.
233. 6:51And right now she's very successful as
234. 6:53well, but she had to be consistent, be
235. 6:55patient. She almost gave up because
236. 6:57number one, she was not taking off right
237. 7:00off the bat. And then when her account
238. 7:02finally blew up, it got hacked.
239. 7:05>> Oh.
240. 7:05>> Which I felt so bad cuz I didn't do the
241. 7:08two-factor thing for her. I felt
242. 7:10horrible. So, I gave her another account
243. 7:12and she's posting two, three times a day
244. 7:15for 2 months and nothing is happening.
245. 7:17Like one sale here, one sale there.
246. 7:19She's like, I I don't know if this is
247. 7:21for me. And I was like,

249. 7:24>> This is going to work.
250. 7:25>> Yeah.
251. 7:25>> But I understood the the pain, you know?

253. 7:28>> So, I I gave her another account. I
254. 7:30think November last year, she just blew
255. 7:33up so much for a physician. She
256. 7:35>> Nice.
257. 7:36>> Cuz that's what I put her on.
258. 7:37>> Yeah, I love that.
259. 7:38>> And we love the products, too. So, she
260. 7:40blew up a for the the gummies launched.
261. 7:43She killed it.

264. 7:47She did amazing. And last month she did,
265. 7:50I think, 86,000 GMB. For Physician.
266. 7:55So, she's actually here.
267. 7:59But, so it's been very meaningful to me
268. 8:01to help her change her life cuz this is
269. 8:03life-changing for everyone in our
270. 8:04family, truthfully, you know.

272. 8:07>> I remember when she made her very first
273. 8:08sale, she was over the moon.

284. 8:24And she gets paid like 5 to 7,000 in
285. 8:28retainers from couple brands. So.

288. 8:34>> What was your mom doing before? I think
289. 8:35you told me, but I'm I think it's cool
290. 8:37story.
291. 8:37>> Yeah. Um.
292. 8:38>> Teacher, right?
293. 8:39>> teacher and she she's retired now, but
294. 8:42she was almost 20 years a teacher.

296. 8:45>> So, I don't know what she wants to say.

331. 9:51how much your bank account is going to
332. 9:53grow, [laughter] and how amazing how
333. 9:55many opportunities. Because sometimes
334. 9:58[music] you get stuck in that mindset or
335. 10:00in that circumstance and you see other
336. 10:02people doing great and you think
337. 10:04that's nice for them, but I'm probably
338. 10:06going to have to grind my whole life.

340. 10:09>> And because I believed in the
341. 10:10opportunity, I believed in myself, and I
342. 10:12stayed consistent, [music] everything
343. 10:14has changed for me. So, I would tell
344. 10:15her, "Stay with it. Trust and have fun."

346. 10:21>> I get so [music] much satisfaction in
347. 10:23knowing or seeing all these comments of
348. 10:25people and they always this works and I
349. 10:28have those kind of comments in any
350. 10:31product, like all the products. It
351. 10:33[music] they work two weeks or what, you
352. 10:36know, even stuff that we can't even say
353. 10:37in the
354. 10:38>> Yeah, I love that story.
355. 10:39>> Yeah. And they say themselves, I just
356. 10:41put the comment like I'm not saying it
357. 10:43there, so you know.

360. 10:45>> So, love it. Something that I think
361. 10:47is like the most important to me, I've
362. 10:49always been able to help even if I have
363. 10:50nothing. Like I would send money to my
364. 10:52grandparents or [music]
365. 10:53I would rescue animals. But now it's so
366. 10:56crazy because I I get to help anybody
367. 10:58that's in need also without worrying.
368. 11:00So, that to me has been life-changing.
