16. 0:43president's new counter-attack went
17. 0:44beyond the court of public opinion to
18. 0:47actual Court in Little Rock this
19. 0:49included a blistering attack all but
20. 0:52directly accusing special prosecutor
21. 0:54Republican Ken Starr of being out to get
22. 0:56the president in new motions in the
23. 0:59Paula Jones case former White House
24. 1:01intern Monica Lewinsky has reportedly
25. 1:03told all talked but still does not have
26. 1:07a deal for immunity from Kenneth Starr
27. 1:09and Hillary Clinton stands by her
28. 1:12husband at the White House Then heads to
29. 1:14a planned appearance in New York our
30. 1:16coverage begins with CBS News White

32. 1:21Dan tonight Monica Lewinsky's attorneys
33. 1:23tell us that she has told prosecutors
34. 1:26all she knows they describe what they
35. 1:28call a complete account of her
36. 1:30relationship with President Clinton but
37. 1:33that account was given over the
38. 1:35telephone today and was not written down
39. 1:37prosecutors are still trying to decide
40. 1:40whether they will offer immunity this
41. 1:43new threat came on the same day that the
42. 1:46president finally rallied to his own
43. 1:48defense
44. 1:49the president had been silent three days
45. 1:52his lawyers wanted it that way but the
46. 1:55political damage was Rising much too
47. 1:57fast today drawn and bleary-eyed Mr
48. 2:00Clinton joined the battle to save his
49. 2:03presidency
50. 2:04but I want to say one thing to the
51. 2:06American people I want you to listen to
52. 2:09me I'm going to say this again
53. 2:11I did not have sexual relations with

58. 2:22these allegations are false and I need
59. 2:26to go back to work for the American

63. 2:36the woman who could bring down the
64. 2:38president appeared for the first time
65. 2:40today leaving her apartment with her
66. 2:41lawyer Lewinsky has indicated she will
67. 2:44accuse Mr Clinton of a sexual
68. 2:46relationship but only with a guarantee
69. 2:48from prosecutors he knows that I want
70. 2:51essentially full immunity he knows that
71. 2:54I want and except nothing less than a
72. 2:57promise not to prosecute so how close we
73. 2:59are is really in his hands not mine

78. 3:10has learned the independent council is
79. 3:12investigating reports that people
80. 3:14working in the White House spotted Mr
81. 3:17Clinton and Lewinsky alone in the
82. 3:19Mansion at various times secret service
83. 3:21records have been subpoenaed the agents
84. 3:24expect to be next the White House
85. 3:26strongly denies the reports the
86. 3:28president's denial is quite clear that
87. 3:30there couldn't have been that type of
88. 3:32encounter we've checked even with people
89. 3:35who would have presumed probably been
90. 3:37bright a report of any incident of that
91. 3:39nature and they categorically deny there

93. 3:43News Lewinsky was a frequent visitor to
94. 3:45the White House long after she left the
95. 3:48staff last month she was cleared in at
96. 3:50least four times including weekends and
97. 3:52evenings but her welcome seems to have
98. 3:55ended three weeks ago on January 3rd she
99. 3:58was denied entry at the gate and sources
100. 4:01tell CBS News she threw a fit screaming

103. 4:09Lewinsky was turned away four days later
104. 4:11she signed her sworn affidavit that she
105. 4:14never had sex with Mr Clinton
106. 4:17a grand jury is due to convene tomorrow
107. 4:19Wednesday and Thursday the grand jury
108. 4:22will be hearing from witnesses that
109. 4:23include the president's friend Vernon
110. 4:25Jordan and the president's own personal
