19. 0:53don't always happen on the road and
20. 0:55sometimes we're not even sure if there's
21. 0:57a driver thankfully the Fox News team
22. 0:59was there
23. 1:00and viewers couldn't stop
24. 1:07watching what in the world is this it's
25. 1:09a 6-year-old child yes he is inside the
26. 1:13balloon that little guy is going to be
27. 1:15very very cold it is moving who in the
28. 1:18world knows what's going to happen or
29. 1:20where it's going to end up he might have
30. 1:21fallen out in the words of the person I
31. 1:24was speaking to if you pray do it now
32. 1:26it's one of those stories that you I
33. 1:28mean I couldn't flip away
34. 1:33that silver thing that you are looking
35. 1:34at in the middle of your screen that is
36. 1:35flying through the sky is a six-year-old
37. 1:39boy who took off in some sort of
38. 1:41homemade hot air balloon device they are
39. 1:44not even certain If the child is still
40. 1:47inside this balloon device on the phone
41. 1:50right now we have the larer county
42. 1:52sheriff spokeswoman as far as we can
43. 1:55ascertain yes he is inside the balloon
44. 1:58his older brother recorded to us that he
45. 2:02watched him go into the access door just
46. 2:05as the device was taking off uh we do
47. 2:09have people on the ground though doing a
48. 2:11search just to make sure that he's not
49. 2:13hiding somewhere we're also told that
50. 2:15this can go 10,000 ft into the air this
51. 2:18is a potentially very dangerous
52. 2:20situation uh for this little child they
53. 2:23pointed out he might have fallen out
54. 2:25I've never seen a device like this
55. 2:27before I think we've got Harris do we
56. 2:28have Harris hey let me tell you the
57. 2:30startling details that I've just learned
58. 2:32the Denver tower has been told to clear
59. 2:35the airspace they are hoping that this
60. 2:38little child okay is not going to float
61. 2:41up too high it is very cold up there in
62. 2:44the words of the person I was speaking
63. 2:46to if you pray do it now I actually was
64. 2:49quoting an official with lore County and
65. 2:52she said it's just time for all of us to
66. 2:54pray because if there's a little boy in
67. 2:55that balloon only God can save

70. 3:06TV station there and authorities there
71. 3:09in Fort Collins to let them know right
72. 3:11away so that they could try to get some
73. 3:12visual on this child uh quick Thinking
74. 3:15by those parents we are now on delay uh
75. 3:18because this is a potentially very
76. 3:20dangerous situation for this child as
77. 3:21you can well imagine uh and we're
78. 3:24watching we we just lost his shot
79. 3:26there's the shot uh once again this
80. 3:29thing is moving at a very fast clip you
81. 3:32couldn't take your eyes off the screen
82. 3:34because you're still like what what is
83. 3:36that thing and is there really somebody
84. 3:38in it and is it going to fall it doesn't
85. 3:40matter it's unbelievable and that is
86. 3:43must CV Shephard is Smith is uh getting
87. 3:46ready for Studio B he's watching all of

89. 3:52this it's 3:00 on the east coast and you
90. 3:55are looking live outside of Denver
91. 3:58Colorado where a balloon apparently
92. 4:01contains a 6-year-old boy a balloon that
93. 4:03looks like a spacecraft airborne and on
94. 4:06the move at what locals call
95. 4:07approximately 25 mph I thought it was a
96. 4:11joke I mean it it looks like the Jiffy
97. 4:13Pop Popcorn balloon thing I didn't know
98. 4:16what was going on but you know balloons
99. 4:19flying Boys Missing parents are freaking
100. 4:22and TV hello Alicia in our Denver
101. 4:26Newsroom we were trying to verify
102. 4:29whether or not this was an actual story
103. 4:31or a hoax because it didn't even seem to
104. 4:33be true for Collins Denver he's here now
105. 4:37so that's how far he has floated where
106. 4:39are his parents the father um who called
107. 4:42into authorities to let them know that
108. 4:45um his craft had come loose so if he's
109. 4:47still moving in that direction he's
110. 4:49starting to move into the city center of
111. 4:51Denver 12 minutes after 1:00 there in
112. 4:54the Denver area how long potentially
113. 4:56could it be up there I think it could
114. 4:58probably stay up in definitely
115. 5:04we have a newsroom in Denver and Alis is
116. 5:06watching this from there and getting
117. 5:07local reports we just talked to Eric
118. 5:09Nelson of the lmer County Emergency
119. 5:11Management office and he told us that
120. 5:13this was never designed to fly what he
121. 5:16also said was the base where they
122. 5:18believe the child is if he is in fact
123. 5:20inside is made of very thin plywood that
124. 5:23would not survive a hard Landing the
125. 5:25skies above Denver Colorado where one of
126. 5:29the straight changes things in the
127. 5:30history of my television career is going
128. 5:32down inside this Jiffy Pop popcorn bag
129. 5:35looking thing here are the stories we're

141. 5:58air and it was is

143. 6:07goodness and now the balloon is on the
144. 6:11ground is there a 6-year-old boy about
145. 6:14to come out of this thing this is the
146. 6:15Moment of Truth well um I've just been
147. 6:18told they're putting us on camera now
148. 6:20because well I mean think about it you
149. 6:23know look we we we don't we don't know
150. 6:27the ABC affiliate here is reporting that
151. 6:31they have confirmed that no one is
152. 6:32inside all along we're watching this
153. 6:34thing fly through the air not really
154. 6:37knowing is it possible that he never
155. 6:39even got into thing but Dad says he did
156. 6:41the brother thinks he fell out now you
157. 6:44know you know where we are right now
158. 6:45it's it's time for a little honesty we
159. 6:47don't know we don't realize that these
160. 6:49parents are three shades of crazy we
161. 6:51don't know that that we're all under
162. 6:53their hoax Hood we were hesitant to put

167. 7:04told that this child was a child who
168. 7:06appeared on the television program Wife

170. 7:10anybody's pulling the rug over
171. 7:12anyone they pulled the rug out from
172. 7:14under us the balloon was as empty as
173. 7:17Paris Hilton's brain America had spent
174. 7:19an hour watching a big bag of gas when
175. 7:22they could have been watching Dr Phil
176. 7:24same thing really so where is the
177. 7:25balloon boy gang now not long ago I
178. 7:28talked with Richard Heeney the father
179. 7:30and man who built that Flying jippy Pop
180. 7:32thingy via
181. 7:34satellite let's go back to that Infamous
182. 7:36day of the of the balloon boy incident
183. 7:38it was like October 15th 2009 what was
184. 7:40that like for
185. 7:43you uh on that day you know um everybody
186. 7:47I think uh throughout life walks in a
187. 7:48big pile of dog crap right right and you
188. 7:51know you walk back in you wash your
189. 7:53shoes off but that's not what I do no no
190. 7:56no I go buy a brand new pair of shoes um
191. 7:58do you feel bad at all that maybe you
192. 7:59manipulated some emotions that day and
193. 8:01my attorney said it best he put out a
194. 8:04press release and he told it like it was
195. 8:06I had to take the guilty plea to prevent
196. 8:08uh my family from being parted I mean
197. 8:10they were going to deport my wife you
198. 8:11know take my kids away and I'd be in
199. 8:13jail where did you go to
200. 8:17jail no you mean Yale Yale very good
201. 8:21Heeney 49 pled guilty to a felony charge
202. 8:24of attempting to influence a public
203. 8:26service he was sentenced to 90 days in
204. 8:28jail and 4 years probation he spent 30
205. 8:31days behind bars and spent the other 60
206. 8:33days in a work release program his wife
207. 8:36mumi pled guilty to false reporting a
208. 8:39misdemeanor she was sentenced to 4 years
209. 8:41probation and 20 days in jail how are
210. 8:44your kids doing oh man my kids are great
211. 8:47after serving jail time Heeney moved his
212. 8:49family down to Florida working in
213. 8:51construction and other entrepreneurial
214. 8:53startups now I got to ask you whatever
215. 8:55happened to your uh back it was your
216. 8:58backs scratching business
217. 9:00now that's a bear scratch that is a bear
218. 9:04scratch we sold tons of those uh for the
219. 9:06Christmas buying season and it seems
220. 9:08like uh every time a season comes up
221. 9:10like Father's Day hey Dad get off the
222. 9:12wall you know so they buy back
223. 9:14scratchers do you consider yourself
224. 9:15crazy or eccentric or just ahead of of
225. 9:19ahead of your time on the day I was born
226. 9:21I I actually belly surfed on the way out
227. 9:23and that's the way my life has been the
228. 9:25infamous silver Flying Saucer was
229. 9:27recently auctioned off he who suggested
230. 9:30$1 million for the balloon ended up with
231. 9:32a final bid of over
232. 9:34$2,500 the heene did not keep any of the
233. 9:37proceeds one of the conditions of their
234. 9:39probation is that they cannot profit
235. 9:41from the balloon boy Saga until
236. 9:442013 they did however donate the money
237. 9:47towards helping the earthquake and
238. 9:48tsunami recovery effort in Japan I got
239. 9:51to move on but uh Richard I want to
