- 0:00a lot longer than he was supposed to and
- 0:02here we go we're going live
- 0:05okay hi this is Jack Olstead I'm in pwn
- 0:08in Washington I'm talking to lean
- 0:10Walters and you are in Virginia um right
- 0:13lean yes right yep right now I am uh
- 0:16here you are and uh what you're looking
- 0:19at is H the
- 0:21timeline that was created for the Flint
- 0:24Water Crisis and uh Leanne you are
- 0:29interested in
- 0:30discussing um PSI the consulting firm
- 0:35that was hired by the city to what do
- 0:39random test samplings of uh lead
- 0:43in residents tap water is that correct
- 0:47correct yeah so what what what's your
- 0:50what are your concerns about this
- 0:52consulting firm oh my my I have many con
- 0:56concerns about this I want to know you
- 0:58know why were they the ones Chen was
- 1:00there anybody else up for consideration
- 1:02who made the final decision to hire this
- 1:04company were they vetted before they
- 1:06hired this company I mean I know from
- 1:08doing quick Google searches that you
- 1:10know their reputation is not Stellar so
- 1:13why would you hire a company that
- 1:14doesn't have a stellar reputation after
- 1:16everything you've already put the
- 1:17citizens through and you know they
- 1:20they're saying they're going to test
- 1:21random homes why are homes with lead
- 1:23service lines not TP priority for this
- 1:25test are they going to be testing by the
- 1:27lead and copper rule or are they going
- 1:28to be testing by loopholes what is the
- 1:30random testing going to do other than
- 1:32you
- 1:33know not give us an accurate read of
- 1:35what's going on I'm not saying people
- 1:37with Le don't have lead service line
- 1:38shouldn't be tested but lead service
- 1:41line should be top priority since
- 1:43they're the ones who made you know blood
- 1:44problem happen in the first
- 1:46place why wasn't it given to you know a
- 1:49local College to do the the the study
- 1:51for it or back to Virginia T why weren't
- 1:54they offered the opportunity and for the
- 1:56citizens to do what we've already done
- 1:58once for the city
- 2:00and you know collect the samples get the
- 2:02samples and get these people tested I
- 2:04know when we did our testing it was $100
- 2:07a test and you know they're going to pay
- 2:09these people up to $75,000 for 150 tests
- 2:13we could do you know 750 tests for that
- 2:16price an extra 600 test could be getting
- 2:18done for Citizens so these are all great
- 2:21you know great concerns for me and not
- 2:23just me I'm sure it's other citizens as
- 2:25well other people I've talked to are you
- 2:27know expressing the same things that I
- 2:29am about about this and it doesn't seem
- 2:30like we're getting any answers
- 2:32again have you tried to talk to the
- 2:35mayor I've I've emailed the mayor I'm
- 2:38waiting for a response
- 2:41back so when you said you did a Google
- 2:44search on this company PSI what did you
- 2:46find uh different lawsuits against them
- 2:50um one of them was for falsifying
- 2:52information another one for racketeering
- 2:55um there were there was quite a few
- 2:56different ones and other citizens did
- 2:57research as well and they had um some of
- 3:00the other ones on their Pages too
- 3:02so why are these decisions being
- 3:05made without the citizens involvement or
- 3:09the city council invol involvement why
- 3:11would why did it go around the city
- 3:13council isn't that what they're supposed
- 3:14to be there
- 3:17for so these are all questions that
- 3:19you're looking for answers and at this
- 3:22point you don't have anybody supplying
- 3:24you with answers
- 3:26no no I talked to one of the other I
- 3:28talked to another citizen this morning
- 3:31and um we were discussing these concerns
- 3:34and hopefully they're going to be
- 3:35mentioned in the city council meeting
- 3:37tonight um
- 3:40but it should after everything that's
- 3:42happened why would this be the path that
- 3:44you would choose it says not building
- 3:45trust back up
- 3:47again especially the mayor when the
- 3:50mayor says that her Administration is
- 3:52going to be about transparency she was
- 3:54going to tell everybody what was going
- 3:56on good bad or indifferent she was going
- 3:58to lay all the cards on the table and
- 4:01this is uh something which you feel um
- 4:04needs to be as transparent
- 4:07as as
- 4:09possible and it's cloaked in secrecy
- 4:13yeah the big thing is why are they hired
- 4:16and what are their qualifications and if
- 4:18they have this track
- 4:20record um
- 4:22why why hire them if they have a blemish
- 4:25against their reputation that's easily
- 4:27found exactly and you know I'm sorry f
- 4:32for falsifying information I mean that
- 4:34is the ccts of why people are so angry
- 4:37because the the numbers were were
- 4:40falsified saying that the water the
- 4:43Flint water was safe when actually it
- 4:45was
- 4:45not they went through
- 4:48loopholes all they were trying to do is
- 4:50get in compliance with the epa's numbers
- 4:53not focused on human health I mean they
- 4:55didn't check some high some schools
- 4:58because
- 5:00they were told I mean I guess you guys
- 5:02were told the the activists were told we
- 5:05don't have to we don't have to check
- 5:08schools not just it's not just that
- 5:11though Jack it's when they were doing if
- 5:14you look at the Foy information um
- 5:17originally they needed 100 samples they
- 5:19didn't meet that goal so then they you
- 5:22know they messed around with changing
- 5:25that number real quick and in a hurry to
- 5:27be in compliance uh when they were when
- 5:30they didn't have enough samples um they
- 5:32had people from the water department
- 5:33randomly supposedly randomly selecting
- 5:36places to go gather samples and where
- 5:38they went and gathered from had new
- 5:40service line new Main and new service
- 5:42lines in that area and then they they
- 5:45they falsified the information on on
- 5:47that paperwork to say that all these
- 5:50people that they tested had led service
- 5:52lines when in fact they did
- 5:54not so you're adding insult to injury
- 5:58here from from where I'm standing and
- 6:00where from other citizens are standing
- 6:03by handling things the way it's being
- 6:05handled right
- 6:07now they seem to treat human health or
- 6:11public health as a
- 6:14liability and then you know I was you
- 6:16know reading an article online also um
- 6:20about gasoline being up in Clarkson
- 6:22Michigan in the water and how the
- 6:25mdq has given those people up there Free
- 6:29bottles of water for all of their needs
- 6:33and they're helping write the wrongs
- 6:35that they did to in Clarkston but
- 6:37they've done nothing for the citizens of
- 6:41Flint no free water no free water
- 6:45bottles you know on a weekly basis yeah
- 6:47we got they got some
- 6:49filters um that's for your kitchen tab
- 6:51what about bathing in it brushing your
- 6:53teeth you know all these other things
- 6:54that you need to do
- 7:00it's it's just it's to me it's just a
- 7:02big jumbled mess and you know it needs
- 7:04to it needs to stop they need to start
- 7:07being held accountable and they need to
- 7:09start doing what's right by the citizens
- 7:10they did this to the citizens the
- 7:12citizens didn't do anything to them
- 7:14besides prove that they were
- 7:20lying I I think one of my
- 7:23concerns looking at it from the outside
- 7:26not being in Flint and uh uh covering
- 7:29some other stories is um they they
- 7:34aren't
- 7:36tracking the deaths they aren't tracking
- 7:39the the uh the they they have no death
- 7:42toll
- 7:44numbers uh for 18 months I guess for 20
- 7:48months they put in Poison water into
- 7:54people's um households and said that it
- 7:57was okay for them to drink we know that
- 8:01lead
- 8:03um creates stillborns
- 8:07miscarriages how many miscarriages are a
- 8:10result of lead over the last 20 months
- 8:13we know that uh seniors are also um at
- 8:18at high risk how many mothers and
- 8:21fathers died as a result of
- 8:26um them drinking water from their Taps
- 8:30when they said it was
- 8:32safe there there there there's no
- 8:34accountability for the death toll and
- 8:36there is there is nobody talking about
- 8:38the death toll and this is and we're not
- 8:41talking about like last month when they
- 8:43decided oh we got a problem here we're
- 8:45going to fix it we're going to put
- 8:47phosphate into the water we're talking
- 8:49about 20
- 8:52months right the
- 8:54hospital the hospitals are not the
- 8:56hospitals are not um screened for this
- 9:00when there's a stillborn when there's a
- 9:01miscarriage they're they're not going in
- 9:03and saying well how much lead was was in
- 9:06the you know in the
- 9:09body and let's let's create a
- 9:12database and and that is deafening
- 9:15because we know that lead kills it kills
- 9:18people
- 9:19eventually but but for for uh fetuses
- 9:23for pregnant women for children they're
- 9:25most susceptible as as well as the
- 9:28seniors right
- 9:30where's the where where's where's the
- 9:32death toll where the numbers where's the
- 9:35data and I and and has been my opinion
- 9:38my experience that uh when governments
- 9:43when
- 9:43agencies are um look at the
- 9:49landscape they will not they will not
- 9:52collect the
- 9:53data in fact they
- 9:55forbid hospitals they forbid people from
- 9:58collecting d
- 10:00they did that in Oregon with u pesticide
- 10:04drift when they when there was a
- 10:06correlation between the spraying of
- 10:09forest and miscarriages within a
- 10:12community their solution was stop doing
- 10:16stop counting the numbers stop counting
- 10:18the babies the dead babies and that and
- 10:22so that's that became the law and so for
- 10:24the last 20 years they have not been
- 10:27collecting any data of um stillborn
- 10:32deaths regarding uh pesticide spray
- 10:36that's how they cover it up they don't
- 10:37collect the data anyway so you were
- 10:41gonna
- 10:42say h you may me lose my train of
- 10:46thought
- 10:48um I'm hoping that we you know like I
- 10:52said I emailed the mayor I'm hoping we
- 10:53get some answers here in the next couple
- 10:54of days to all of these
- 10:57questions that's a you know that's a
- 11:00huge thing for what they're doing right
- 11:02now I mean if they don't want Virginia
- 11:04Tech to do it um I don't understand why
- 11:06because they've been so good to us so
- 11:08far at least to the citizens um but you
- 11:12know the local colleges the local
- 11:14colleges could do it they're doing Wayne
- 11:16State is doing um testing right now for
- 11:19the
- 11:22tthms and I can tell you from a few of
- 11:25the results that we've seen from the
- 11:26first round of Tas that they did those
- 11:28are out of compliance
- 11:36still I'm gonna share with you the Flint
- 11:39water
- 11:41study
- 11:43website do you see that on the page yes
- 11:46I
- 11:47do and it looks like Virginia Tech is is
- 11:50working with high school classes in in
- 11:53Flint that's awesome because Mark's been
- 11:55trying to do that he's been saying that
- 11:57since September and and so uh they
- 12:01posted this this morning December the 20
- 12:04December uh 14th you can see that and
- 12:07they've got pictures of how these um
- 12:11chemistry students these chemistry
- 12:16classes are are
- 12:20um doing the
- 12:24work very
- 12:27detailed here they are
- 12:30actually they're not high school
- 12:31students looks like they're they're
- 12:32Elementary School students that's
- 12:35awesome so so if if you if you you've
- 12:40got a
- 12:42um a nationally
- 12:45renowned professor professor plumber as
- 12:47he's
- 12:48called he's got all the
- 12:51experience he's
- 12:53got students and he's training students
- 12:57locally on how to do the
- 13:00work why don't why not turn this into a
- 13:04a a community learning project so
- 13:07everybody's working together and that's
- 13:10that's that's what I don't understand
- 13:12because one of the things like the city
- 13:13of Flynn has said and utility companies
- 13:15in general say is that people won't
- 13:17cooperate and that's not true I mean
- 13:20they gathered 69 samples or 71 samples
- 13:23in six months and the citizens gathered
- 13:26277 samples in two and a half weeks
- 13:29weeks all you got to do is educate
- 13:31people let them know why this is
- 13:32important and they will
- 13:35help and to get back to I've got my
- 13:38train of thought back with the adding of
- 13:40the phosphates the question was posed to
- 13:44in the meeting about the level that
- 13:47they're putting in there and what it
- 13:48means for the citizens who get the first
- 13:51draw water the people closest to the
- 13:52water plant what is that going to look
- 13:55like for them and the response was we
- 13:58don't know we're going to have to look
- 13:59into that we didn't take that into
- 14:07consideration these guys are the experts
- 14:09too right how how how did you not take
- 14:11that into consideration when you decided
- 14:12to do this after everything that just
- 14:21happened it's
- 14:23crazy it's still it's still a crazy mess
- 14:27I mean we we talked um a couple days ago
- 14:29you were talking about the the why that
- 14:31they put in the why connection I think
- 14:34they put into the plant yes where where
- 14:37even when they do start drawing water
- 14:39from the
- 14:40Kwa they um will be mixing it with Flint
- 14:43W river water yes and then when I posed
- 14:47that to Jim saigo in an email in
- 14:50November um he was said that they had no
- 14:53knowledge of this and that that the DEQ
- 14:55would not support the blending of the
- 14:58water but then there was an article from
- 15:012013 that says that that's exactly what
- 15:04they were planning on doing and they
- 15:05just needed the DEQ approval so I'm
- 15:08waiting response back from Mr saigo on
- 15:12what the update is and how they're
- 15:15moving forward with
- 15:17this I'm pulling up that article right
- 15:19now using using the
- 15:23timeline to get to the information very
- 15:26quickly right here
- 15:29March the 25th
- 15:362013 and and they they talk about it
- 15:38right right here right and and I know
- 15:42from 16 million gallons per day of raw
- 15:46sewage from the lake and then they were
- 15:49going to mix it with two million gallons
- 15:51per day from the Flint River I mean this
- 15:52is what's in their plan Yep this is in
- 15:56their proposal under the proposal they
- 15:57haven't as far as I can tell you haven't
- 15:59changed their proposal I know Howard
- 16:02Croft confirmed it a few months ago that
- 16:05that that's that was the plan before the
- 16:07switch back to Detroit was you know the
- 16:09Y was installed in the plant and that
- 16:11that would be used to blend the waters
- 16:15together and then the D tells me you
- 16:18know a week ago a week and a half ago
- 16:20whatever it was that they don't know
- 16:22anything about it and they would not
- 16:23support
- 16:25that so yeah those are people we should
- 16:28trust after the whole the whole reason
- 16:31why uh apparently they want to bring in
- 16:35water from the
- 16:38lake so they can resell it yep to other
- 16:43communities and the lake will only give
- 16:45them 18 million gallons so they had to
- 16:48make up the difference in order to get
- 16:51the quantity up so that they could sell
- 16:52it so they could be profitable trying to
- 16:55not just other communities though Jack
- 16:57they're planning on selling water off
- 16:59along the way um that's why it's coming
- 17:02in raw 70 miles which is not something
- 17:06that's done normally when you're dealing
- 17:09with water like that for drink for a
- 17:11drinking source so they can sell it off
- 17:14to um Farmers this way it's untreated so
- 17:19you know like the Sugar Beach farms and
- 17:21stuff excuse me um that that's part of
- 17:25the
- 17:25plan to make to make money off of it
- 17:29most places like Detroit for instance
- 17:31when they pull off a port hon it is
- 17:33treated at the source and then sent out
- 17:36to people they're planning on bringing
- 17:38it in 70 miles untreated treating it
- 17:41after it gets here and then sending it
- 17:43out to the people which you know that is
- 17:45not how it is normally
- 17:47done and throughout the and throughout
- 17:51the pipeline there will be um openings
- 17:54so that they can draw water off
- 17:59is that right is that what you're saying
- 18:02to my I don't know if there's actual
- 18:04openings I just know that the plan is to
- 18:07be selling water off as it's coming
- 18:09through that's why it's that's why it's
- 18:10not being
- 18:11treated at the source that's why it's
- 18:13not being treated until it gets to Flint
- 18:15is so that they can sell it off and make
- 18:17a
- 18:21profit there is a picture of the
- 18:27um of the pipeline on the Kwa
- 18:32website let me see if I can pull that up
- 18:43quickly I
- 18:47cannot doesn't look like I
- 18:53can I don't you know if they get the Kwa
- 18:56online when they say they're going to
- 18:58get it online I will be
- 19:00shocked I don't think you're going to
- 19:02see usable water from Kwa
- 19:06till March between March and may of
- 19:142017 that's what I'm thinking right now
- 19:16even though they you know they're saying
- 19:18it's 2016 I don't I don't see
- 19:20it uh why would you say that why don't
- 19:23you see it I just don't they haven't
- 19:25worried about anything else and they're
- 19:27going to have to test the Kwa water
- 19:29before it can come through to the
- 19:30citizens and if they're doing it from
- 19:32the articles that I was reading the way
- 19:33they're talking about doing it that
- 19:35water needs to be tested for three
- 19:36months before it can be given to the
- 19:39citizens
- 19:41so if it's supposed to complete late to
- 19:44end of
- 19:462016 how are you giving it to the people
- 19:48then you're not
- 19:59so they're going to continue
- 20:01to bring water in from
- 20:04Detroit yes they're going to have
- 20:08to which means they're going to continue
- 20:10to spend uh more money for this um the
- 20:15the the
- 20:16shortterm relationship with with the
- 20:19Detroit Water System either that or
- 20:22they're gonna have to figure out how to
- 20:25duplicate what that water is going to
- 20:27look like after coming in 70 miles
- 20:30untreated and putting chemicals into
- 20:33it and duplicate the process prior to
- 20:38the Kwa being
- 20:40online and I I I don't see that being
- 20:43cost
- 20:45effective how do you duplicate 70 miles
- 20:48of water running untreated treat it and
- 20:51then see what that looks like for the
- 20:53for the citizens I mean I've done a
- 20:55little bit of research on my own on how
- 20:58you know that could possibly be done and
- 21:00none of those are things that
- 21:02financially the city of Flint can afford
- 21:03to
- 21:07do
- 21:10H more questions more questions than
- 21:19answers here it
- 21:24is I knew I could find it
- 21:30here is the route
- 21:33map for the
- 21:42pipeline is this one dated at
- 21:48all I don't I don't think so I don't
- 21:50remember seeing a date
- 21:53okay um but here we can see
- 22:03this is where the water is coming in
- 22:04right here the intake valve yeah which
- 22:06they spent $35 million
- 22:08for back in
- 22:112013 that's where that's where they
- 22:13first got this thing going 2 I think it
- 22:16was
- 22:172013 $35 million just to build this area
- 22:21right
- 22:22here the intake valve so it goes along
- 22:26here and I believe I remember
- 22:33seeing yeah here's a pump station
- 22:36Reservoir balancing tanks so they're
- 22:37tanks right here in this area so I think
- 22:40if they have
- 22:41tanks that um they're going to use as an
- 22:45intermediary Source from that location
- 22:48they'll be able to siphon water
- 22:52off right wouldn't that make sense that
- 22:55would make sense
- 22:59and I don't think there is any other
- 23:01takes along the
- 23:05way and then it ends up what's this
- 23:08other orange one right
- 23:10here is that the treatment
- 23:13plant no the treatment plant is right
- 23:17here this is the Flint Water Treatment
- 23:19Plant this is the
- 23:23gcdc water treatment plant is that is
- 23:26that the county treatment plant here
- 23:30I don't know what's the gcdc wws water
- 23:34treatment
- 23:36plant I I don't know so whatever this is
- 23:39they can probably also draw water off
- 23:41from from this point as well this
- 23:43treatment
- 23:47plant this or this uh purple line is
- 23:52the uh current Detroit water line
- 24:00you can see that also
- 24:03goes to the lake right
- 24:09here so anyway yeah so it looks like
- 24:11they that is something that they have in
- 24:13the works that they've got these uh two
- 24:18points where they can draw water off and
- 24:20sell it to
- 24:23Farms as a way of making money
- 24:28these orange areas looks like they've
- 24:31got that here in Detroit on the Detroit
- 24:33line
- 24:36too so
- 24:40anyway we have uh six
- 24:43minutes what would you like to talk
- 24:45about in six
- 24:46minutes what what what do you got going
- 24:48on this week this is Monday you got a
- 24:50full week ahead of you what what's going
- 24:52on for you I'm just wait I'm just
- 24:54emailing and waiting for people to email
- 24:56me back I mean that's
- 24:59right now I'm just gathering information
- 25:01doing some research and just waiting for
- 25:02people to email me back on the things
- 25:04I've emailed on I've not heard back from
- 25:06the DEQ I've not heard back from the
- 25:08mayor um I've been in contact with
- 25:11Denise foron who is the Congressional
- 25:13liaison with the EPA and we're having
- 25:16some technical issues with our
- 25:17attachments so I'm working on
- 25:20that
- 25:22and that's pretty much about it besides
- 25:24talking to people and getting more
- 25:27information yeah have you heard anything
- 25:29about the tech advisory
- 25:33committee no I haven't heard anything
- 25:35recently I know there was a meeting
- 25:36there were supposed to be a meeting and
- 25:37it was um cancelled so I don't know what
- 25:40they're doing um Denise foron is the one
- 25:42that um has me in contact with the um
- 25:46task
- 25:47force that's working in Flint so once we
- 25:50get the attachment thing figured out um
- 25:53I'll have a little bit more information
- 25:54on that and finding out if they've
- 25:56started the the pipe Loop
- 25:59to um start testing the water for the
- 26:01phosphates to see what the best
- 26:02combination is which I don't understand
- 26:05why they started adding phosphates
- 26:07already if that hasn't been done because
- 26:09that was the safe way to do it for the
- 26:11citizens so I'm a bit confused about
- 26:13that and again I can't answer anything
- 26:17at this point because it's all waiting
- 26:18for people to
- 26:20respond I'm gonna be talking with bob
- 26:22box
- 26:24on Wednesday any questions that you
- 26:28would like POs to to Bob he was um the
- 26:32scientist brought in in February to
- 26:34evaluate the situation he had a tour of
- 26:36the plant he has extensive experience in
- 26:39this type of
- 26:42situation um any questions for Bob yeah
- 26:45how did his meeting go with KY and um
- 26:47after the the um nwac in
- 26:53November how did the meeting go yeah him
- 26:56me they sat down with congressman
- 26:59um right after we got done at the
- 27:00national drink and water advisory
- 27:01committee up in DC so just curious how
- 27:05that meeting went wasn't he also at the
- 27:09EPA um hearing
- 27:13no uh Aaron Brockovich was at the
- 27:16hearing wasn't she no no no okay I saw
- 27:19pictures I I thought they were and I
- 27:21called his office I was trying to get
- 27:22interviews and I was told that he was in
- 27:24Washington DC at that time and I thought
- 27:27he was at the hearing
- 27:29no I I I I when I spoke to him on
- 27:32Facebook I had mentioned that you know
- 27:36there was still openings at that meeting
- 27:37and you know if they could make it in
- 27:39there to speak that would be fantastic
- 27:41but they had other meetings that they
- 27:42had already had scheduled previous
- 27:45Arrangements previous they already had
- 27:47scheduled so they couldn't make it into
- 27:50the
- 27:53ndwac what is going on with that you you
- 27:57uh you talked in front of the hearing
- 28:01are they going to give you any kind of
- 28:03response they're going to adopt
- 28:05everything that we were fighting against
- 28:08and pretty much what I said in my speech
- 28:11is what's going to happen if that's
- 28:13allowed to happen if that actually does
- 28:15take place we might as well tell people
- 28:17you are on your own there are no laws
- 28:19for lead and copper you're
- 28:22screwed and I hate to be blunt but it is
- 28:25what it is
- 28:29so we're trying to figure out ways to
- 28:32get you know to get their attention for
- 28:33that not to happen well I think having a
- 28:37death toll of stillborns and um seniors
- 28:40would be a way to to um keep their their
- 28:44focus on what is actually going on this
- 28:47is um a
- 28:49killer it's a killer for
- 28:52the the the you
- 28:55know for those that are entering the
- 28:57world and exiting the world
- 28:59it's it's it's not a good situation and
- 29:03it's happening all over the
- 29:05country and it's
- 29:08unacceptable well it's it's not
- 29:11acceptable for I guess a modern
- 29:17society I mean if you think that the
- 29:19United States is uh you know kind of
- 29:22modern it's not a third
- 29:25world first world
- 29:28how how can we just pretend like it
- 29:31doesn't
- 29:32exist that's a million-dollar question
- 29:35how did they pretend that this you know
- 29:36this problem wasn't happening for as
- 29:38long as it was and if it wasn't for the
- 29:41work that we did they would still be
- 29:42sticking to their story on it that there
- 29:45was not a problem
- 29:47so boggles the mind doesn't
- 29:50it well boggles the mind that you pay
- 29:53people to uh protect public health and
- 29:57they don't so what are they getting paid
- 29:59to do I mean that's the question I mean
- 30:02what are they doing if not protecting
- 30:05Public Health they're taking the
- 30:08money and um not doing the job I mean
- 30:12that's that's the thing that boggles the
- 30:13mind you have people that you depend
- 30:16upon to do a job and they don't do it
- 30:20that's the mindboggling thing how can
- 30:22people get paid to do a job and they
- 30:23don't do the job I mean isn't that
- 30:26bother the Mind well let let's let let's
- 30:29rephrase that to the the majority don't
- 30:32do that there still
- 30:35are the fire and few in between that do
- 30:38what's right and do try to do their job
- 30:40to the best of their ability and and to
- 30:43help
- 30:45people and there needs to be more of
- 30:47those people well those people seem to
- 30:50be the worker bees the people that get
- 30:52in you know because they want to
- 30:55instigate change but the administ rators
- 30:58the people at the top the political
- 31:00process they're the
- 31:02ones that put a cap on it they label
- 31:05these people
- 31:06whistleblowers um you know
- 31:10they're
- 31:11[Music]
- 31:12um Rogue they're Rogue
- 31:15[Laughter]
- 31:17employees sorry I can't help but chuckle
- 31:20when you say that because of what they
- 31:21said about
- 31:24Miguel well you know I got I I talked to
- 31:27to a guy who worked at the EP for 25
- 31:30years uh Evan valanos he wrote a book
- 31:32Poison spring and he came out you know
- 31:36matter than a hornet because of of what
- 31:39he experienced in his 25 years he was in
- 31:41Washington DC and he sat there and he
- 31:44saw the paperwork going back and forth
- 31:47and it was all at the expense of Public
- 31:49Health and they
- 31:52supported industry and poisoning of
- 31:55populations over and over and over and
- 31:57over again and
- 32:00systematically you know putting
- 32:02Band-Aids on it and and you know it's
- 32:06you know it's a travesty it's not happen
- 32:10this didn't just happen this happened at
- 32:12the very beginning in 1970 when the EPA
- 32:15was created and uh you can do some
- 32:17little research and you can find out
- 32:20that the EPA was
- 32:22created so that it would
- 32:26appease these
- 32:29environmentalist and it would it would
- 32:31appear that government was um you know
- 32:35going to to Aid these environmental
- 32:38concerns but what it actually was to do
- 32:41was to impede them and and bring
- 32:43everything to a Forefront and let
- 32:45industry and government have their way
- 32:47it it did it it was created to do the
- 32:50act the actual opposite not to
- 32:53protect but to harm H well not to
- 32:57protect but but to to focus on the
- 32:59profits of the
- 33:01industry and it's crazy that has been
- 33:04going on for all this
- 33:06time crazy anyway I know it's uh three
- 33:10minutes past um the time you've got to
- 33:14go number one job rambunctious children
- 33:17running in here any second so your
- 33:20number one job is a mom all right thanks
- 33:22so much for hanging out with me and um
- 33:25I'll see you next time all right all
- 33:27right
