1:08introduce herself I am Vicky Marx most
1:11of you know me from environmental coffee
1:13house because Desmond's interviewed me
1:15before hi Sandy hi Trevor and Tim
1:22Robbins okay born and raised in Flint
1:24Michigan moved away from Flint reasons a
1:30lot of other people did because of
1:31crying we've got the flush and he came
1:33back in 2014
1:36learn what's going on with water and
1:44insult so how long have you lived here
1:46Vicki 13 years 13 years okay and Tim how
1:52many years would you say I was 20 okay
2:03and then so we're in camp promise right
2:06now can you tell us a little bit about
2:08what can't promise is and and what the
2:11goal of can't promise is either one Camp
2:18Robinson started on April 7th of this
2:21year
2:26Ryan was outstanding right so this camp
2:30is in existence because of standing
2:32right pollinating the planet but those
2:35two gentlemen got together and decided
2:37we need a resistance camp but here in
2:39Flint and April 7th they started to fire
2:42up on the hill with three promises to
2:45keep that third order total three
2:46promises are met until everyone in Flint
2:49has new infrastructure and pipes until
2:52everyone in Flint has lifelong health
2:53care and tell the people that are
2:55accountable are held responsible so I
2:58can't be cents move down here and going
3:00through a lot of transitions we've had a
3:02large group of people here and then
3:04assume that negative energy that just
3:07wasn't it conducive to what our mission
3:10is
3:11moved on but we're still standing strong
3:14need more people here that are
3:17interested in speaking out and learning
3:20what's going on because this isn't just
3:21affecting Flint this is worldwide okay
3:26so what drew each of you is to come down
3:29here to Flint I mean other than being a
3:31Flint resident what what actually drew
3:34you here because Vicki I know I've seen
3:37you a lot here here quite a bit Tim as
3:38well I mean so what from from each of
3:41your perspectives what drew you to to
3:43camp promise
3:44well up until can't promise got here I
3:47felt like I was beating my head against
3:49the wall trying to get the story out
3:52that the Flint after three years still
3:57hadn't had clean water
3:59I stopped in the second day that they
4:01set up and talked to Aaron and he did a
4:06live stream and when he was done he came
4:10up gave me a hug and started crying
4:13saying he was so sorry that this had
4:16happened to me and to our city and
4:20basically what they did was they gave me
4:23hope and gave me my suck at wind instead
4:27of giving up I says it may be that more
4:30determined to fight awesome okay how
4:34about you Tim it's a long story involved
4:38but I actually saw this camp in a vision
4:41back in 2013
4:44so I knew it was coming
4:48it came about I came down and checked it
4:52out and started staying here April 28th
4:55except one if it's it's my soul tribe
5:02it's people that have sacrificed a lot
5:03jobs personal sacrifices to come speak
5:08out for dr. King has a quote that says
5:12an individual has not started living
5:14until he can rise above the narrow
5:15confines of his individualistic concerns
5:17to the broader concerns of all humanity
5:20I think most everyone agree would agree
5:23here that they never felt more alive so
5:26I know I feel anyway I came here to help
5:30fill the promise with that fire going
5:32and my piece of the puzzle and actually
5:37creator has put a bunch of inventions in
5:39my head that in the vision that I saw
5:42the businesses in sight and actually you
5:47have an invention for the head excellent
5:50drawings of enough of a theft
5:51replaceable it was invented in Flint
5:54Michigan vehicle city does anyone has
5:57interesting to take a look at that and
5:58help him the problem is I'm not looking
6:00for money that's interested in making
6:03more money that's the goal of that money
6:04I don't want that kind of money what I'm
6:07looking for is an investor that their
6:09goal is to create jobs and making money
6:11as the byproduct to creating jobs
6:13Flint needs in industrial jobs we need
6:17manufacturing jobs we need jobs in for
6:20people it's it's a crazy but in vehicle
6:24city most people can't afford a vehicle
6:25or can't keep
6:26vehicle repair so I think people need
6:30jobs and that's my part of the puzzle to
6:37speak out of by the Justice I believe in
6:40intentional poisoning for profit tell us
6:45more about that well I I state these
6:48things as fast because I believe them
6:50I've done research and I actually state
6:54this like I said as a fact because I
6:56believe I believe that general motors
6:58corporation was behind intentionally
7:00poisoning the city of flint for profit
7:03and so many levels it's disgusting they
7:06don't just claim that I backed it up
7:08this article I got one of the activist
7:11groups in Flint this is the hidden
7:12villain behind rampant crime which feeds
7:15the prison for-profit pipeline lower IQs
7:18which means people are smart enough to
7:19be aware what's going on and rising ADHD
7:22each feeds Big Pharma what that hidden
7:25viler was was when he put lead in
7:27gasoline back in the 1840s it increased
7:31in the 50s it increased in the 60s and
7:33then in the seventies that came out if
7:35Herbert Needleman was a science
7:37scientists that led Wars that discovered
7:39the exhaustion 20 years later you see an
7:42exact pattern of rising ADHD higher
7:45crimes Lord IQs and higher teen
7:47pregnancies so it's fede all those
7:50prison for-profit pipeline in the in the
7:53big pharma and by the way for people
7:56responsible for putting lead in gasoline
7:58as General Motors Corporation but it was
8:01specifically Charles Kettering that they
8:04renamed General Motors Institute after
8:07him googling he had 186 invention he
8:11invented putting lead in gasoline he
8:13also invented free on all kinds of
8:15harmful things that
8:16under this planet and that's how they
8:19honor people like that be named to
8:21college after I believe that the one
8:26General Motors profited off both sides
8:28of the war would be logical they profit
8:30off both sides of illness they knew
8:32putting leaven gasoline the exhaust
8:34coming out for this poisonous they got
8:37involved with Big Pharma preparing drugs
8:39Perry drugs was one pharmacy in Ann
8:41Arbor started out as when I was a kid my
8:44father John Lewis Robbins and he used to
8:47complain that Perry was grown by a group
8:50of General Motors funded doctors and he
8:53said that's a conflict of interest
8:54because the doctors own the pharmacy
8:56they get the office call then they write
8:58a prescription they don't get a kick
9:00nitrogen alone and they're gonna be more
9:02like they were all the jobs depress the
9:40economy so much the homeless population
9:42is through the roof people that have
9:44houses are barely hanging on that huge
9:46population their main source of income

10:32I believe anyone who thinks that this
10:35poisoning doesn't affect them this let

10:42no idea they were doing that I actually
10:45believe a lot of cannabis sit on the
10:49woods and meditate alive I believe this
10:52goes again I think they had a plan by

12:20people came from the south by 4000 train
12:22loads of people there wasn't adequate
12:24housing in Flint they lived in tent
12:26cities along the Flint River Industrial
12:28Avenue in here in 1919 GM was the
12:31largest auto manufacturer in the world
12:33and they simultaneously became the
12:35largest whole manufacturing room and
12:37started the modern housing corporation
12:38they built 5,000 houses in Flint so they
12:42know where the lead service lines I
12:43don't know they they put him if he may
12:44put him in by the way Civic park Mott
12:47Park and Chevrolet Park were built by GM
12:49and they were only available to GM
12:51employees and those are modern slave
12:53quarters in the middle of the blocks all
12:55two-bedroom houses for the elderly
12:57people at every corner we have to sit

14:02very odd this this article is the Flint
14:06water crisis systematic racism through
14:09the lens of Flint in 1940 when they put
14:13lead in gasoline then it increased in
14:15the 50s then increased in the 60s at
14:18very odd timing but in 1940 there were
14:207,000 African Americans in Florida by
14:23the end of the 40s it doubled the 14,000
14:25by the end of the 50s and into 35,000
14:28and they were only allowed to live in
14:30Floral Park the south end of Flint where
14:33the exhaust was settled seems an
14:36illogical
14:40Vicki my take on what's going on in
14:46Flint is I'm more concerned with what's
14:56happening now and what isn't being done
14:59now after they've poisoned us
15:03they're on TV state officials the mayor
15:08everyone is saying oh yeah Flint water
15:11is fine I've got proof that it's not the
15:19doctor Tuesday to get my blood drawn
15:21again for the lead levels in my blood
15:25the first high level I had was the end
15:28of July came back 38.4 anything over ten
15:33is serious and I went back a month later
15:41to my own doctor and it went down to
15:43twenty five point nine everyone in the
15:46state is thrilled about that they're
15:48thinking the leads leaving my body
15:50the lead is not leaving my body it's
15:52moving out of my bloodstream into my
15:54bones and organs again and I still have
16:00extremely high load levels in my home I
16:03had a call from George at the DEQ less
16:07well ten days ago and he told me that
16:15it's not led in the water he doesn't
16:20know where the leads coming from even
16:23though my house has been inspected by
16:26plumbers and George and Department of
16:31Health and Human Services and there's no
16:35galvanized or lead in my home pipes but
16:39my water is still testing two to three
16:42hundred parts per billion
16:45his solution to that is for me to open
16:49all of my taps and run my water for five
16:52minutes a day whether I'm going to use
16:54that tap or not regardless of how high
16:58that's going to drive the water bills
17:00which we're already paying the highest
17:02prices in the nation for water that we
17:04can't drink that's that's the state
17:08solution to my problem and they're there
17:14on telling everybody that oh yeah Flint
17:16water is fine and it's not kind I and
17:22I've been screaming that to anybody
17:24that'll listen for the last year I'm
17:30phool said it's not a fight
17:34I agree you're still suffering from the
17:38early onset Parkinson's and for the last
17:46two months I've been getting headaches
17:50I'm nauseous all the time I'm tired to
17:56the point where I I'm surprised I
17:59haven't fallen asleep driving in my car
18:01but when I go to bed at night I cannot
18:04sleep my hands from my elbows down are
18:08going numb
18:10I have aches in my joints and my doctor
18:17the state county none of them seem to
18:22worry about that all they all they're
18:25worried about is oh yeah the lead level
18:26in your blood is going down nothing to
18:29worry about
18:29but it's it's going down in the blood
18:32but it's going into my bones too in my
18:35organs brain sure everything else it's
18:39not leaving my body
18:40it's just migrating from the blood just
18:43somewhere else
18:45and so there's there's a few things that
18:49can be done right for that mm-hmm what's
18:52theirs
18:53number one is chelation therapy and
18:58according to my doctor when I first went
19:02and saw them to get my blood tested
19:04after I tested high in July through the
19:07County Health Department they said that
19:12unless unless my blood gets 80 or above
19:17there's nothing to worry about but when
19:20it hits 80 there's only one Hospital in
19:23the state that will do treatment which
19:25is chelation and that's in Detroit the
19:29state is telling me I don't have to
19:31worry about the lead in my blood until
19:33it gets 40 to 50
19:36and then you need to be concerned but
19:40there's a chelation therapy you do not
19:41have to go to Detroit to a hospital but
19:44that's over for four to five times what
19:47it should be they recommend you seek
19:49help through a physician right yes but
19:53they're all telling me oh no nothing to
19:55worry about
19:58they're not the ones that have to live
20:01with the symptoms they're not the ones
20:02that are missing two to three days of
20:06work a day or week because I can't get
20:10out of bed so you're still you're still
20:14trying to remain employed yes through
20:17all of this yes my second job I pretty
20:20much had to give that up I'm trying to
20:23hold on to the my first job so you had
20:27two jobs yes I I was working two jobs
20:29all summer trying to get a little bit of
20:31extra money because even though I own my
20:35house free and clear I still got to pay
20:38taxes insurance my utilities and right
20:44now it's my paychecks are kind of going
20:49down the tubes because I'm missing work
20:56so as far as trying to keep a roof over
21:00my head that's something else that I've
21:03been struggling with all summer
21:10keep going guys
21:11no I don't want to interrupt you I want
21:14to keep this keep this going
21:16the audience is tuning in there hasn't
21:18hasn't been a whole lot of questions
21:21yeah so let's just keep the one with
21:24that it's it's this is the type of stuff
21:27that people not just in our state but
21:31throughout our country here don't know
21:34and I'm very appreciative that you're
21:39sharing and I just want to keep that
21:42going from both of yourself something
21:45I've got to say about professor Mark
21:49Edwards from Virginia Tech he was
21:54originally when when they first
21:57discovered LED in the water
21:58he was the expert that came to the
22:01rescue and gave his opinions and was
22:07testing houses and first words out of
22:12his mouth were coding the pipes isn't
22:16going to re coding the pipes after the
22:20Flint River water took the coating off
22:22and spread all this led and other heavy
22:25metals that the state wasn't testing for
22:28into our water originally he said well
22:33just putting the phosphate in and trying
22:36to put the covering back on isn't going
22:38to help well surprise
22:41he got grants from the state he got a
22:46two hundred and fifty million dollar
22:47GoFundMe account and all of a sudden
22:51Mark Edwards is
22:53his tune and telling the world oh yeah
22:57water's great he's been paid off by the
23:01state of Michigan he's I had a TV
23:07reporter come to my home to interview me
23:09and he and she said well she says I've
23:13got Marc Edwards number you could call
23:18him and he'd be willing to come over and
23:20test your water and I planned out told
23:23her I don't trust market as far as I'm
23:26concerned he might have started out as a
23:29good guy like a lot of people did and
23:32all of a sudden he's in the state's
23:35pocket I says he's not going to come up
23:39with anything truthful I don't trust him
23:44and it's been well publicized online
23:48I share my my water reports my test
23:52results with everyone and I believe that
23:55is why when they closed down the nine
23:59water pods that were originally in Flint
24:01for people to pick up free water testing
24:04kits filters etc they quote and they
24:09decided they were going to close all the
24:11pods well a few of the Flint residents
24:15who made enough of the stink that they
24:17decided they were going to keep four
24:19pods open Oh a week before they closed
24:23the other pods I went to the one that
24:26I've been going to and asked for test
24:29kit she said well we don't have any they
24:31haven't been sending us anything we
24:33think maybe it's because our pod is
24:36closing down so I went to one of the
24:38pods that's staying open and the lady
24:41says nope we're no longer carrying the
24:44test kits to get the test kits you have
24:46to go to City Hall going to City Hall
24:49means
24:50a person who's disabled or sick or
24:55doesn't have transportation has to get a
24:58ride down to Flint Hall city off if you
25:01drive a car if you want to park anywhere
25:04in here you've got to pay to park your
25:06car walk in pick up your test kit go
25:10back out to your car do your test and
25:14repeat the process to drop off your
25:19water okay and I believe the state did
25:23that because of me being so vocal about
25:26the fact that my water isn't getting any
25:30better and they're not doing anything
25:34about it
25:35they have no answers for me so I think
25:38they're making it more difficult for the
25:41Flint residents to get their water
25:44tested and this is one way they can do
25:47it by making it more difficult for the
25:50residents to get the test kits I think
25:54Curtis has a question on because
26:06originally when it happened
26:10Marc Edwards was in on the lead pipes
26:16that happened in Washington DC and when
26:26he got word when it started coming out
26:29in the media or the dr. Mona was getting
26:33triple blood results in the kids and we
26:37started making a stink while the state
26:41and everyone else was saying oh no the
26:43water's fine it's all
26:45head he was the initial expert so he
26:50volunteered to command and do the
26:52testing and he I think we tested like
26:55288 homes initially and then came back
27:00and tested like a hundred and eighty
27:03some and then this last testing that he
27:08did he tested like 137 homes and he's
27:13not they're not going out and testing
27:16different areas they're they're pretty
27:21much doing what he has to just so he
27:25knows he's gonna get low blood results
27:28and shut everybody up now I know lead
27:34has been an issue but Tim maybe you know
27:38maybe you know Vicki there's other
27:40issues with the water here as well
27:42correct
27:42yeah just beyond the leg yes there's
27:45also the Handy faucet filters that
27:49they're giving us especially in the
27:51summer collect bacteria there's the
27:55Legionella the Shigella there's two
27:57others that I can't even begin to
27:59pronounce they're causing upper
28:03respiratory infections pneumonia twelve
28:07people have been definitely identified
28:11as dying of Legionnaires in 2014 and
28:152015
28:16but there are over two hundred people
28:18that have passed away from respiratory
28:23infections
28:24that weren't officially diagnosed as a
28:27genomic pneumonia you know all these
28:31other things that the state does a
28:34testing for Marc Edwards is a testing
28:37for and it's not only the lead and
28:41copper in water lead and copper is the
28:44only thing that they're required to test
28:46for but they're not testing for the
28:48manganese aluminum Tim tin arsenic
28:53politi and palladium whatever there's
28:57there's like 20 different other heavy
29:00metals in cancers cancer-causing agents
29:05that have been found in the water that
29:08the state is completely ignoring oh
29:11they're worried about is the lead I
29:15don't know what I've had in my water
29:18because all they test for is letting
29:20copper all I know is my lead has been
29:23way higher than it should be since I
29:26started testing in January of 2016 and
29:29I'm still testing at least every two
29:32weeks no maybe maybe something more
29:36personal but I know the last time that
29:39we spoke and you did an interview on
29:41environmental coffee house you mentioned
29:44the fact that you've been collecting
29:45rainwater to bathe
