- 0:00you don't seem
- 0:01to put too much blame on the state and I
- 0:04mean is why is that or am I missing
- 0:07something see and the reason why I gave
- 0:09that that whole long statement that I
- 0:11just gave is because I know sometimes we
- 0:13can be so upset because we've been
- 0:16abused and and treated badly but I want
- 0:19to make sure that we are also looking at
- 0:22the whole picture you follow what I'm
- 0:23saying yes uh my perspective on this is
- 0:26the fact that these are the agencies
- 0:28paid to protect us the Michigan
- 0:30Department of Environmental Quality and
- 0:33Susan Hedman at EPA is the top
- 0:35environmental cop in the region I have
- 0:37said repeatedly that the primary blame
- 0:40for this rests with a few people at the
- 0:42Michigan Department of Environmental
- 0:44Quality without question uh but in terms
- 0:49of other people in the state those core
- 0:53professionals misled them throughout
- 0:55this whole thing Mr Walling in in Flint
- 0:58for example reached out after reading
- 1:00Miguel's memo as a as a considerate
- 1:03mayor would to Susan Hedman and said is
- 1:06this something I should take
- 1:07seriously and she told him the cop the
- 1:10top environmental policeman in the
- 1:12region told him I am sorry this memo
- 1:15ever took place and I'll get back to you
- 1:17after I edit and vet it so I I 100% of
- 1:21the responsibility lies with these uh
- 1:25mdq there's no question but EPA had the
- 1:27chance because of nigalo Toro to be the
- 1:30hero here and Miss Hedman snatched
- 1:33defeat for EPA from the jaws of Victory
- 1:37by discrediting his memo and standing by
- 1:39silently as she knew that federal law
- 1:42was not protecting Flint's children mhm
- 1:44and
