Flat, Boring Site Maps? Use AI to Elevate Them Instantly — Transcript
Full transcript
- 0:00In this tutorial, you'll learn how to
- 0:01take an exported site map from Topo
- 0:03export and use AI features to bring it
- 0:06to life [music] in Rayon design, all in
- 0:08under 10 minutes. Links to try both
- 0:10tools for free are available in the
- 0:11description. So, let's get started.
- 0:17In the previous tutorials, we learned
- 0:18how to quickly and easily export a site
- 0:21map from Topo export and bring it into
- 0:23Rayon design for editing, stylizing, and
- 0:26presenting. Now, let's see what AI tools
- 0:28both software can offer to elevate our
- 0:31site maps. Topo export offers AI data
- 0:33sets built on high-resolution 3D lidar
- 0:36point cloud data for site maps. In
- 0:38France, for example, they offer a data
- 0:40set which accurately positions trees in
- 0:43their individual locations and correct
- 0:44heights and hedges as well. Stay tuned
- 0:47for the LOD 2 building data sets,
- 0:49including roof structures. Now, let's
- 0:51see what AI features Rayon offers. Okay,
- 0:53so we're back into Rayon. Let's have a
- 0:56look at the AI panel. So, first of all,
- 0:57I just want to jump back into my model
- 0:59canvas and into my original drawing. So,
- 1:01the AI panel lives on the left-hand side
- 1:04over here. And this really is an
- 1:06opportunity to enhance your work using
- 1:09AI, all within the browser, all within
- 1:11Rayon. So, you can see down here, we've
- 1:13got add content. can add a file, so a
- 1:15file from outside, or we can add a
- 1:18screenshot. So, that's a screenshot of
- 1:19your actual Rayon model space. And we
- 1:22have a number of pre-built tools within
- 1:24that. So, we can generate an image, so
- 1:26whether that's just an image from text
- 1:28or a from another image prompt. We can
- 1:30generate a tracing, so that takes an
- 1:32image um
- 1:33>> [music]
- 1:33>> and converts it into a vector drawing.
- 1:35Uh we've got generate product, which I
- 1:37use a lot to create blocks. So, I showed
- 1:39you the block library previously. This
- 1:41can turn a product image that you want
- 1:43to use into a CAD block. We also have
- 1:46stylize, which you can take any of your
- 1:48existing information, so your floor
- 1:50plans, for example, and we can add
- 1:52styles to those. So, there are a number
- 1:54of pre-built styles, so watercolor, clay
- 1:57model, hand sketch, render, or wire
- 1:59frame. And these are really effective at
- 2:01sort of upping your aesthetic quality to
- 2:03your drawings. And the last one is the
- 2:04most impressive that I find is the
- 2:06generate axonometry. And this will take
- 2:09create an axonometric view from your 2D
- 2:12information, which is just amazing. Now,
- 2:14I want to take this drawing and up its
- 2:17quality using a number of these
- 2:19pre-built styles. So, let's see what we
- 2:21can do. So, first of all, I'm just going
- 2:22to turn off my symbols so the drawing's
- 2:25nice and clean. Now, first of all, let's
- 2:27open our panel and we can add a
- 2:29screenshot. So, I can do that from here.
- 2:32So, that will just snap to my rectangle
- 2:34and I can go down to our tools. I'm
- 2:36going to say stylize. So, let's test out
- 2:39these different styles. So, let's try a
- 2:41watercolor.
- 2:43So, we can preview that and it's kept
- 2:45all the geometry, so all the um layout
- 2:47exactly the same and I can insert that
- 2:49into my drawing. I can scale that up,
- 2:51for example, and we can see that there.
- 2:53So, that gives a really interesting
- 2:54impression of our [music] site plan.
- 2:57Let's try that again. Now, let's try a
- 3:00clay model.
- 3:03Wow. Wow, that's really interesting. So,
- 3:05again, we can bring that in. I can scale
- 3:08that up. Yeah, I really like that
- 3:09effect. And then lastly, let's try
- 3:12render. [music] So, these are obviously
- 3:14the pre-built styles, but you could
- 3:15prompt AI as you see fit.
- 3:18Wow.
- 3:20So, again, we can insert that. And we
- 3:22can even adjust these. So, for example,
- 3:23where this sign may have not been shown,
- 3:26I could very easily just put a red fill
- 3:28around this space. I'll use my picker
- 3:30tool. Here we go. So, four really
- 3:32interesting versions of that same site
- 3:33plan. So, now I can easily drop those
- 3:35onto my paper space, for example. So, so
- 3:38I can duplicate this sheet that I've
- 3:40already set out. So, let's create three
- 3:42different views for our three different
- 3:45AI maps and I can add my view from my
- 3:49model canvas. I can crop that view down.
- 3:52I can scale it like that. And then I can
- 3:54basically copy that view again now that
- 3:56I've set up the window and then I can
- 3:58just inside that view pan [music] to my
- 4:00next model space. I mean, say we wanted
- 4:02to take this clay model effect, I could
- 4:04even import some images for example.
- 4:07Say, let's import some images of the
- 4:10local site. Say one of the park, one of
- 4:13the actual site building and then one of
- 4:15the train station. And actually, I could
- 4:18say, let's edit this image. So, I can
- 4:22edit this image and I can go in and
- 4:24maybe I'll make all of these match the
- 4:27sort of tone of my render. Yeah,
- 4:30perfect. Looks great. I could just add a
- 4:32a text box, add [snorts] some text for
- 4:35example. Um and then I can add some
- 4:38titles to
- 4:42these as well.
- 4:45A little locator here for example. We
- 4:48can change the size. Make this a bit
- 4:51bolder. And then we can just drag and
- 4:53drop those. There we go. So, very
- 4:55quickly we've got an aesthetically
- 4:58pleasing but accurate site model with a
- 5:01number of views on our sheet. That wraps
- 5:02up our mini topo export to Rayon Design
- 5:05tutorial series. Thanks so much for
- 5:07watching and enjoy exploring what you
- 5:08can create with these tools using the
- 5:10free links below.
